i really like when they adapt a series in a way that suits the new medium + provides alternate but harmonious development to the original series. adaptations don’t need to be 100% faithful to the original storyline as long as they remains faithful to the original themes and purposes

Warnings : Smut, Sexual/ Explicit Contents, Slight Fluff, Posessive attitude, So’lek and reader in Love, p in v Slight agressive behaviour, swearing and that should be it.
A/ N : Hello Everyone! I hope you’ll like this story. I originally come from AO3. Mostly surfing on there, but I decided to take a look here and found the vibe pretty nice. I decided to write this So’lek fic because I obviously got obsessed with him and I guess not having the game contributed to it even more for some reason? Plus I am very obsessed with Neteyam too as I just watched the movie again, so it all restarted lol. I hope I'll be forming a nice community here. For now this will be it. Smooch 💕💙

Nga yawne lu oer...
Nga yawne lu oer~
You pronounce together, looking profoundly in eachothers irises. Each of them a pure yellow color. Dark pupils dancing in the golden sky. So’lek kisses with lust the slight swell of your stomach, slowling traiking up to suck on one of your hardened nipples. He quits it with a small pop, the humid glaze of left on it making them more enticing than they already were. He sits up on his heels, after your long make out session. As he leans back, his erected cock bobs and twitches in anticipation. Without any shame you glide the flat of your hand over his torso, down his abs until you grab his throbbing dick showing a delightful bead of pre-cum. You slowly caress him and he lets his head fall back, locks danfling down, waving down at his round ass contracting in need. With a swallow he recovers and adjust himself, ready to enter your beautiful flower.
So’lek pierces the breach of your dripping entrance with a low growl. Gritting his teeth to the point of grinding, he lets out a jerky breath at the sight of his pretty tawtute spread out for him beneath his thick, masculine frame. He tightens his grip around your thighs, whitening his knuckles even more, and spreads your legs with surprising grace, considering everything about him radiates strength, endurance and certainly not softness. He looks at you with hooded eyes and a snarl is blown to your nose, contrasting the care he's been laying on you since you both started to make out in the lushious Pandoran greens.
You’d been such a brat. Such a fucking bitch, with your human lips, pouring endless words of nonsense. Such a tawtute manner, he thinks bitterly, though he couldn’t contain how much he loved this about you. And this was one of the reasons he fell in love with you. Your vivid mind never ceased to impress himself, as he always believed humans had a weak and poor thinking brain. But this was not true for you. You were able of so much introspection and impressive deductions that you couldn't stop yourself from talking during the whole day, yet with wisdom. You had this way of speaking every thought. As beautiful as it was, it could seriously piss him off after a long day amongst the clan warriors. And today was one of these, were the strenght of his nerves weren't enough to mirror your sense of verbal connection, but just enough to pound the attitude out of you.
Sky Demon oh so delicate and gracious, that it was able to break the stiff wall of his long lasting beliefs. Sky Demon, oh so pure hearted, made him fucking feel what love was and felt the ground crumble under his feet since the day he met you. Sky Demon, oh so sincere and kind, able to knock the most harsh feelings he always felt towards any of your kind out of his lungs. And Sky Demon, so unbelievably true to herself, made him drool at the curious idea of how such a being could ressemble to one of his kind. You truly were the person proving him wrong on the fact that it wasn't your source, your race nor your home that should make you an enemy. But it was the hearts of those rejecting Eywas truth that had to be feared and chased.
As you were learning him to see the world through a different way and less darkened eyes without changing his aspects. He himself, showed you how much you deserved to be loved, even how far down you fell and how unalive you used to feel. Originally from earth, you arrived on Pandora by the mission to seek out new ways of life. Finding a way to save humanity without any harm. You then were attributed to your own avatar. Everything was fine until, the higher people, controlling the plan, lost their mind and you decided to flee into the forest and then you met So’lek. Luckily you had found a way to transfer your soul for good in your blue grand form and said goodbye to your human form without any regret, as you never felt any glimmer living this life of human roots. This amplified by the days you had the chance to live amongst them, as the tsahik saw something true and pure in your soul.
Back on earth, the world is destroyed and getting the chance to leave for Pandora, was like the four petal clove found in the endless pain field. A gift from the universe you never awaited and in distress needed. You smile everyday at this chaotic story and at how it somehow worked and shaped into the most beautiful story to share, with quite the amusing anecdotes. Like you loved to and it was utmost crazy to see that maybe yes. The universe always had a plan for you, by the way such uncompatible puzzle pieces still locked into place together. Or by the way two completely different souls managed to pull together easely. In the end, the only language is still love. And it will be the hymn of the universe forever.
His warm calloused and soothing palms craddle the little fat of your legs, calming your racing heart as he tries to penetrate deeper and deeper into your intimate warmth. Your labias spread evenly as his dick slides in you with difficulty. You two weren't having intercourses for long so it was only normal as you in addition were very tight to begin with. You're so damn tight, he thinks. But he regrets his thoughts, feeling how good your walls kiss the skin of his member. So tight, that he could even feel the rythmic beat of his heart down there. Deep pulse gaining speed with each second passed and as the most carnal needs grow. He sighs erotically, stopping his way inside for a second and taking his time admiring you. Everything in you radiates light and Love and he now couldn't even dare to imagine living without you. When he first met you, he had this irrepressible urge to cut of off your devil hands. Five fingers, the art of destruction, but today as knowing who you were inside, he only wants them to be feeled on evey inch of his skin.
Reaching down to hold one of your hands up, he put your small finger into his hot mouth, sucking on it hard while humming unintelligible sounds. Praising this part of you today was something important. Maybe was it out of guilt, but it wasn't something to ignore at how it just fueled desire powerfully by just a small actions as simple as this. The way it delivered trust and love around the air, was a drunk dizzying feeling. But you both loved to feel succumbed under such circumstances.
You look up in awe, squirming at his bold chest glistening with sweat and at the way his pecs contract with each fast inhale. As you move you can feel the resistance in your core, jolting at the way it sends electricity to your heart and you mewl at the way his warm tongue swirls around your slender petite finger. The rough surface of his tongue momentarely stops as you clench down on him, only to fully decontract yourself and finally letting his way easely in. Exactly how he planned to. You were so putty under his touch and he loved this. Loved to feel so masculine and viril in such a tender and yet feminine moment.
You moan, body wriggling at the size of his member resuming his ascencion down your belly, slowly forming a bulge without struggle. Given his posture, it's never been strange that he'd come away with such a large, long size and length. But as always, theory surpasses reality. And right now, it's the practitioner who's got the upper hand. An expert in the art, So’lek revels in your face as it contracts in innocent pleasure, and despite your pain, the oh so delectable stretch of his greatness evokes a sensation of intense well-being.
His voice breaks the silence only punctuated by heavy breaths. Pronounced accent and long vocal chords, and so on low growl, expressing their intention.
Look at you.... My beautiful Tawtute~ So ready and wet for me... He breathes in emotion with a smile while whispering just below your ear, his hot breath fanning over your sweet spot, before lapping at it like a starving man. You shiver, cold spikes travelling down your spine in an addicting way. Mouth long release of its favorite finger, he still caresses it with his own and pins it down just over your head, vanishing into the dark chocolate hair of yours splayed into the humid ground into a captivating canvas.
He enters slowly, letting your body adjust bit by bit. The vein of his dick slides through the membrane of your throbbing hole until it is stopped by the bump of your cervix. You moan in unison, ragged breaths escaping your luscious lips, coated with a thin film of saliva. Your eyes roll back into your skull, your mouth falling open as he maintains a steady rhythm. So'lek slides out of you, then gently in, testing the waters again and again. But as soon as your walls get wetter and the desired slick accumulates at the base of his stiffness, he begins a merciless rhythm that frees never heard harsh sounds from your mouth, vibrating on your tongue rarely, with each thrusts.
He lifts your hips, embracing the bulge of your bottom, and the new angle forces a long, desperate whimper out of him. The whole scene would have been obscene, between the dry tumults of his pubic bone slapping the soft down of your pussy and the grumbles escaping So’leks throat, it’s more than a mystery. Only you can bring him to do that. Be so free of his emotional restrains and that's what makes this moment so profound. And this is exactly what makes him angry too. Fortunately, you're hidden in a rocky alcove near a river that blocks out any auditory vibrations. And the headwaters of the waterfall muffle the voluminous muses of your companion, lost in an almost animal trance.
Your arms are now limp, framing your lulling face, enamoured with an expression of aggressively delicious pleasure. Your cheeks blaze with a new colour, a bright red, growing in intensity as the knot in the pit of your stomach becomes more and more oh so fucking good tensed. Noxiously more.
So’lek rises to his knees, lifting his bottom up, this new position much more within reach of an intoxicating act. Sinking deeper into the sweet warmth that has become a necessity at this stage of your shared passions, you can feel your body bounce with each stroke. Only your bobbing shoulder blades are connected to the sacred humid soil. Only witness next to the curious lifting leaves.
This goes on for minutes until the familiar sensation of orgasm approaches. Your face contorts in shock, letting out a melodious gasp as it arrives, and in a desperate gesture you reach out your arms, searching in vain for something to cling on, your eyes closed. Your upper limbs fall back onto the sumptuous floral carpet with a flat thud, convulsing with pleasure as the overstimulated nerves finally relax with a well-placed dip. Your first orgasm is like a firework exploding on your erect bud. Your second cuts you off from all air, arriving like an uncontrolled tsunami, and the last. Oh, the last one. You see it coming, but as it shoots its first gusts into the centre, it develops into a veritable firestorm. Burns your being up to the depths of your core, embrace you to the tips of your toes.
You see white as the last exhilarating breeze fades and you whine at the overstimulation. So’lek is still chasing his climax, frustrating shouts echoing off the stone walls that clatter in the suffocating atmosphere. All his muscles tense, his cock throbs and his balls contract unbelievably close to his crotch. He gives it all until the pulsation of his member points its knowing pump and in one last stroke he glues your two pelvises flush together and empties his seed directly into your womb, staying there.
You both semi-giggle in a transe, lost in your sensations. You feel his warm seed fill you to the brim, finally able to take a complete breath, whilst he lets his head fall down, groaning at the amazing way to claim you, that his to fuck you dumb until his cum paints your leaking walls.
Missions accomplished. You are exhausted, eyes fluttering in a way to try and keep them open. Long lashes shadowing the little of sight you are able to get. Wanting to watch the beauty of this man after he'd use you and worshipped you whole. Soul to Mind, to Body, to Spirit, to every inch of Life living inside of you. This always leads him in a charming sweet way to be and there is no way you'd miss it. To bad, turns out he fucked you too good. Now you can't even open your eyes the way you should...
You awake the second he pulls out though and exhale an annnoyed complain. He chuckles as he heavily lays down next to you, wrapping his big arms around your sweating body, trailing them along your curves and enjoying the after care time. So’lek loves to relish in the smell and sensitive skin of yours. Damp and buttery from the effort, your scent is stronger making the world around him satisfyingly disappear even more.
You sigh, happy to have him near you for once. It isn't often you get the time to succumb to your wants and it feels good when you can. You nuzzle your cheek against his, shiny orbs waiting for his owns to connect with. And when they do, your heart swells with love. So’lek can be seemed as a brute and careless man for the simple by walkers, as he is very dominant looking. But in truth he's the teddiest of all Teddy Bears. He smiles, showing off his sharp fangs, and cups your jaw with attention.
He prepars to lean in and kiss you, but the movement of your lips stop him. Look at you... My beautiful Na’vi~ You reflect his previous words with playfulness, ears flicking and fluttering. So ready and wet for me... You joke by reusing his words, looking down at his blue and oh so tempting lips. With a groan, he looks up unimpressed. You just can't stop youself and talk nonsense, do you, he thinks. He smiles at the thought, though he would never admit, that it is you, with you never ending blabber, that got him out of solitude.
You let him lean in and as he devours your mouth again, holding your neck, he lingers there until both of you are out of air for a second time.
Now. If you want to be this bratty again... He pauses and grins. What if I show the consequences of it? Again~
You cup his growing naked bulge and smirk. He gasps, amazed at how you caught his words and the implying behind them so rapidly.
Oh... I would love to. My beloved Teddy Bear~

SPOILERS: i have mixed feelings about the bear s3 but knowing that s3 & s4 were written/filmed at the same time makes sense. s4 will prob answer s3's q's. (A LOT was left open-ended) usually i love that, but it felt like the show lost itself in certain places, esp the self-indulgent finale. all stories are indulgent to some degree, but too much decadence rarely leaves room for substance.
and i get why they tried to do the chef's table thing, but other than andrea, syd, and luca, everyone else's acting was disjointed and trite. but i loved ep 1; it was an ethereal, artsy, meditative piece (peace) that was necessary after the chaotic s2 finale. however, as a big fan of the show, it was hard for me to finish the eps.
the standout in s3 FOR SURE was tina's ep - directed by ayo. glad we got her backstory. personally i liked her anxiety-inducing job hunt bc it's really like that irl, esp for older woc. the sobbing while eating a free sandwich was relatable, and the mikey convo was super impactful. but as much as i loved the ep, it still felt superficial compared to s2 'forks' (richie) or 'honeydew' (marcus). we never see her son again either; all we get is tina yelling at him to quiet down.
then there was marcus's mother's funeral which seemed like it was going to be more central to the plot than it was. i wish we got more. and claire is still one of the most underwritten characters EVER. nothing about her or the mis en scène really sells it that she's a doctor lol. and the scene with the faks trying to apologize on carmy's behalf was beyond cringe. i like matty matheson - i have his cookbook, but there was entirely too many faks in s3.
and let's be real: where was ebra & sweeps? ebra has such an interesting story that i'm HOPING we get to see in s4. sweeps too - he tried out for the chicago cubs! but on a positive note, i loved the chemistry between syd/luca. it was v sweet and organic. wonder if they'll be a thing in s4 since luca is carmy's foil. too bad marcus was barely in s3, tho the hug between him & luca at the party was cute. syd's meltdown mirroring carmy's in s2 was also a nice touch.
idk how to feel about sugar's labor scene. most praise it, but it didn't hit the same for me. donna's over-acting (the whole series) is really distracting and i can't take her seriously. ik she's supposed to be mentally unwell, but it borders on cartoonish. the hospital moment was heartwarming, but again, artificially. and pete was so underwritten too, just so they could have that mom moment. i liked the scene with him and syd tho. it felt authentically awkward.
i also understand what they were trying to do with the finale, but it was a flop for me. the scene with andrea/carmy staring out into the chicago night was introspective and beautiful, but the msg doesn't hit all the way bc we have a group of wealthy celeb chefs saying it's okay to stop while you're ahead and enjoy life while you can. every second counts. unfortunately for those who are not celeb chefs, it's not that easy to simply "enjoy life."
on one hand, i agree that food is life and restaurants have been community "third places" forever (essential to life itself; historically, like when revolutionaries would gather at pubs or cafes). however, do i think that fine dining and the "art" that comes with it is necessary? no. if there were more spots like the original beef/bear in the world tho, that would be a good thing.

My Trafalgar Law HC's!! pt.15🤍🤍
ft. Kanna!! Longer Edition
Here are 5 random things that made Law bawl his eyes out:
-The story of Hatori and Kana Sohma
-The ending of Deemo
-The true ending of Undertale
-Rengoku's death
-The ending of Yomawari: Night Alone
Furthermore, Hatori Sohma is his favorite character in Fruits Basket.
I think one of the things that Law really likes about Kanna is that he sees Lami's kindness and personality in her a lot. It's probably what sparks his protectiveness and is more understanding of her. He enjoys the idea of what could've been.
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but since it is a really really old HC of mine, I'll say it again:
I think Law has some musical talent. I think he can sing, play some of the piano, the ocarina, the tambourine, and write sheet music.
But, it's been awhile, so he'll need some warming up.
When he first heard "I Need You" by BTS, he learned how to play it on the piano.
I think their HYYH Era in general might've helped him pick up playing the piano a bit more.
Speaking of BTS, Kanna reminds him of V.
To Kanna, Law reminds her of Suga.
If Kanna and Law were tarot cards, here's what they'd be:
Law-The Moon, Emperor
Kanna-The Sun, Empress
Together-The Lovers
I honestly don't know what his favorite season is. I think it would make sense for summer, spring or fall to be his favorites.
However, I do think he would hate the winter, since he seems like someone not particularly fond of snow or cold weather.
In a prompt list I did with an old friend, the question asked was,
"Board games, card games, tabletop games and such, what game do they like to play together or with the crew? Who’s good at what?"
Here was my response for Kanna and Law:
"Law and Kanna play chess. They bond a lot over it. They also play BS. Which is a game where you put down cards and call BS if you don’t believe them. If they’re not lying you have to take all the cards. If they are then they have to take all the cards. Winner gets down to 0 cards. Law and Kanna are equally good at this game and chess. Law finds it really attractive that she can spot his lies LOL."
Another game I think they'd play together is Fluttering Souls.
Tumblr media
They might've also tried Karuta, but Law was too busy for it.
In that same prompt list, the question was asked,
"What store would they shop in at the mall? Or what area? How about law? Would he stand outside this store and wait?"
Here was my response:
" I am from the US. So, my answers will be based from there.
Law would probably be someone who’s very introspective in his selections and will basically slowly narrow it down if he doesn’t know what he wants, regardless. He’d spend a lot of time analyzing and exhausting all of the options on price and quality before he buys anything. You’ll be spending a lot of time with him if you go shopping with him.
- As for US mall stores, I think Law would shop at:
Vintage Stock
Zumiez
Men's Wearhouse
Yankee Candle
Old Navy
Rue/Forever 21
Hollister
Pacsun
Tillies
(I put a number based on how long you’d be here, Tillies being in and out and Vintage Stock being you’re never seeing your family again.)
I think in general, law would shop in bookstores, clothing stores, or stores with like music and stuff for his coin collection. He’d be on eBay alot also looking at the prices of coins and always keeping tabs. He has a journal dedicated for coin collecting and like writes everything down. He’s very offline."
In another couple's prompt list I did, the question was asked,
"What do they think of each other's family? And how does the family feel?"
Keeping in mind that I made Kanna to be Koby's older sister, here was my response:
"Law is really interested in meeting her family. Kanna doesn’t talk much about her family, but Law thinks that they seem really awesome. Kanna feels the same. I’m sure that Law would be very awkward when if he meets Kanna’s family.
Ideally, I’m sure their families would adore each other and like seeing Kanna and Law together. Koby and Lami would get along really well, too. Lami would adore Kanna, and Koby and Law would eventually gain a mutual respect for one another. Kanna’s dad would be the only one who struggles to like Law."
No Surprises Spoilers Ahead
In a prompt list, I answered a question regarding Kanna and Law's dynamic. Here is what I said:
"This couple can best be described as 'right person, wrong time' with a sun and moon dynamic. Had they met in another life, they’d be a very happy couple with a daughter (Taiga) and possibly a little brother (Ame).
After Dressrosa, Law helped Kanna remember how to love through his kindness. While Kanna began to love once again, Law learned to become vulnerable. Together, they were eventually able to stop “running away” from each other and reciprocate their love. Their relationship took time, patience, and many sacrifices. It was a rocky road and they still struggle at times.
Yet, their love was a choice, and neither regretted it one bit."

Writers: audiences will not forgive you for not knowing your own story
Decided to make my own post on a point rather than attach it to another post about how people don't respect the fine art of storytelling a mystery and expect writers to spoon feed them every answer.
So this is completely true and there's really nothing that can be done as a writer when you're combatting an inattentive or deliberately obtuse audience.
H O W E V E R,
It's also worth noting from this a maxim that is borne out in almost every writing workshop I've ever participated in:
The audience will forgive almost any sin by the author except for being confused by the story.
They will forgive exposition! They will forgive slow build up! They will forgive things not appearing to be what they seem!
But they will not forgive you if you do not know the answers to these things yourself.
Now, assuming good faith, assuming an attentive audience, and assuming a story that is not about baffling the audience (like say, a mystery or avante garde piece) nothing is more maddening to that audience than a sense that 1) The author doesn't know everything they should about the story. 2) that the author is inconsistent or self-contradictory with the information given. 3) that there are too many mysteries, which can cause contradictory theories and therefore outrage/confusion.
1) There are some things the author does not need to know. If a story is a convoluted introspection on the nature of revenge and family and parenthood, etc, the POV character maybe not being entirely 100% certain themselves about how they feel about their father, and having multiple contradictory emotional views, is largely fine. People get it. Some things don't have answers, especially matters of the heart. However, there should be a sense that the author has a strong theory. And, if it's a mystery, for example, the audience will generally not forgive a mystery that does not itself seem to know the answer or leaves it "up to the viewer to decide" the whodunnit. If the promise of the story is answers for certain questions, you've gotta be really goddamn careful about which things you, the author do not have an answer to if your goal is not to invoke outrage. You are the only guide the audience has to your world and story, they're putting their trust in you. There's a certain amount of "foisting the decision onto the audience" which can be done, more with deliberately mature or thought-provoking stories, but these choices must be deliberate and not a product of author laziness or indecision. The audience can smell it when your "Well it's up to you!" answer is based on laziness or indecision rather than deliberately coaxing them into contemplating a specific thought or idea.
2) The audience expects you to know your story better than they do. They are in fact trusting you to know it. See above. You need to know the answers. Do not cheat at the game "Battleship" with them by moving the pieces after they've already guessed where the answers are just to confuse them. Do not fail to have the answer to the mystery and wait for the audience to figure it out and then do the opposite of what they think! (I'm looking at you Broadchurch, I will never forgive you.) Do not "Rocks fall, everyone dies! Aren't you surprised?!" That is a betrayal of the audience and they will be out for your blood. You need to give them a chance to solve the mystery!
3) Too many mysteries can allows people to fill in a huge amount of blank space with patterns that make sense to them. You as the author have no control over this. This is why puzzle box stories like Lost are often frustrating for audiences when they conclude: create too many mysteries, and people as pattern-seeking animals, will create elaborate, emotional, personal theories to fill in the blank space.
This is a matter of pacing and story craft as much as anything else. Sometimes, it's best to limit even a story built around mystery to ONE MYSTERY and to SIGNPOST this mystery. Have the CHARACTERS wondering about this mystery. Let people know they SHOULD be thinking about this mystery. In my experience, readers tend to take almost everything stated in a story at face value UNLESS you deliberately introduce doubt like with an unreliable narrator or with a character POINTING OUT that someone's actions do not match their words. Simply having things like actions not matching words is generally interpreted as author inexperience or error, rather than a deliberate mystery if it's not signposted and generally if people do not trust you as an author they will not wait until the end to see if your deliberate flubbing of numbers or key facts was a tricksy mystery or just you messing up, they will assume the latter.
You don't need to spoon feed the answer to the mystery, but you need to let people know there is a mystery, that there will be clues, which mysteries they should be thinking about (and this can include complex philosophical thoughts and things they should be thinking about as people, not just a whodunnit mystery!) and you as the author need to be aware of whether or not if will be satisfying if you answer some of these mysteries or not and if it is your goal to be satisfying. Audiences will respect an ambiguous ending if it's well constructed and is clearly part of the deliberate fabric of the story!
There is no sin that audiences will hate on you more for than these choices not being careful and deliberate on the part of the author. You must know your story, no one else knows it like you do, no one, and that includes the parts that deliberately do not have definitive answers.

hiii. so. i'm a little trapped right now as far as writing goes - aka wholly unsure which of my two main projects to work on. and i've decided that after presenting my respective problems, i'm leaving my course of action up to all of you.
please read the propaganda before voting if possible!
EXPLANATIONS/PROPAGANDA.
terras town is about a girl, lev alvarez, who falls into a parallel world layered right under hers, and who needs to find a way back home before she brings her world crashing down alongside. however, lev's life back home is not going too well right now, and this goal rapidly starts to vanish as she deteriorates more and more into escapism in a world that carries no consequences for her.
pros of me working on this: this has been my main project since i was 15, i have it completely outlined and the characters are fully fleshed out and everything, i know how it all fits together and i'd kind of really love for it to be the first project i complete properly
cons of me working on this: structurally it's a bit fucked - it drags on in the same way for far too long, it has too much introspective activity and not enough external action, and the mc is totally severed from the wider plot surrounding her; thus risking a large part of the story not making sense until book 2 or (like i said) feeling repetitive as she simply does not engage with it. also it's a little cringe
good intentions is about the first academy in the saints-square built with the aim of anchoring cores (people who possess raw, explosive, very dangerous magic) to mages (an artificially created class of people who can siphon cores' magic into 'usable' forms), and more specifically about the experience of two girls (hess tiamaret & juve mizani) in the process. hess flat out refuses to become some rich girl's magical battery, and juve is very much keen on making her buckle and accept her 'help.' they're also both really fucking crazy and there's more to them but i'm still learning how to summarize their deal.
pros of me working on this: i think it runs a lot smoother than tt structurally, with a good balance of internal and external action; it's multiple person pov which is just v fun and also helps keep everyone involved in the wider plot, it has a more polished sense of character voice, juve is a low empathy love interest which ive always wanted to explore (i have a low empathy character in tt too but shes more of a minor character), if you like gideon the ninth vote this one
cons of me working on this: since it's a new wip i'm still not done plotting it, there's big worldbuilding gaps, and i have no idea how a lot of stuff ties together just yet (and potentially for a long while) so it'll take much longer to do. also everyone really does love tt, me included, so it feels a bit like a sell out.
some excerpts to help sway your mind either which way:

I'm doing writing commissions for people who donate to Palestinian fundraisers. More info on this post.
1.- Original story incipit
She got up from the porch and looked around at the street, that street which had seen her grow up -so quickly, it seemed now. Everything was soaked in the warm orange light of the sunset.
So much had changed. The old lady at the end of the street, the one who left food for stray cats in her frontyard every night, was long gone. New little families had moved into big, antiquated houses. Empty bottles of beer were left where children’s bikes once used to be.
She felt a bitter taste in her mouth. Everything was gone. Was the past even real?
It’s not the moment to be melancholy, she told herself. It was a big moment, one she had imagined for years. The next day, at this very same time, she would be watching the world run fast outside her train window. St. Dymphna college was waiting for her.
No one in the town had ever heard about St. Dymphna college. Most people in the world hadn’t, she supposed. She told everyone that the reason she wanted to go to St. Dymphna, and only St. Dymphna, was its exellent philosphy program. People would have thought she was crazy, had she told them the truth: how she had been led to that ancient building by chance alone, while wandering, completely lost, during a family trip; how she had fallen madly in love with the smell of mint in the garden, with the old walls covered in ivy, with the statues looking benevolently down at her.
2- Percy Jackson, ship fanfiction
Annabeth’s hair was soft as a cloud and smelled like fresh lemons. She had fallen asleep, and Percy could hear the light sound of her breaths. He wouldn’t dare move, lest he wake her up, and, honestly, he did not want to. Moments like this were the ones when he really felt alive, more than those in battle, when adrenaline rushed through his veins. His mother humming an old song as she passed behind the half closed-door; the last lights of that summer day coming through the window, creating a soporific atmosphere; a movie he really couldn’t follow the plot of in the background; and Annabeth there, so calm, so close: that was what he needed, that was what he lived for.
3- Murder Drones, introspective?
V had this strange relationship with memories. She hated them. She wanted to get rid of them. And when she looked at him-
But then, on some days, when no one was there, there was something inside of her urging her to go back to them, to indulge in them at least for a moment. And so she closed her eyes, and suddenly she could hear heavy rain against the windows, and indistinct voices somewhere -the mansion was always so full of people those days, she always had to rush from one place to another-, and a familiar laugh coming from the library.
In the silver tray she was carrying was the image of a shy little drone, looking at her through large eyeglasses. She felt a sense of pity towards her own reflection. Who was she? Where was she now? Somewhere deep inside of her? Or was she just… dead?
4- Dialogue sample just because from the previous one it may seem that I never write any
-Tell me where it is. Now-
-You know, you could really change the way people perceive you if you just fixed your posture and spoke with more courtesy. Also get a color analysis maybe? –
-Tell. Me-
-You’re not really convincing-
-I’m holding you at fucking gunpoint, for God’s sake! –
-Still not convincing-

Thank you for your answer! Yup, a good chunk of people have a tendency to oversimplify things or take them at face value from my personal observations.
Red scarf = she compared it to her innocence = she's young = omg, it must be a metaphor for her V card!!! Let's ask Taylor about that theory and ignore that she gifts a red scarf to the bride in the IBYTAM m/v!!!
Bad Blood = is about her feud with Katy Perry over some back up dancers!!! Ignore the fact that the phrase "mad love" was used in romantic context in other songs in the same album!!
So I guess I can see why people may be inclined to think we're basically saying "Taylor and Karlie are together because they've carried the same bag this month!" and simply ignore all nuance or not ask why these information are being shown to us in this manner given how Taylor operates in a careful and strategic way ... like a Mastermind, if you will.
But I guess calling Karlie "poor" for "sitting in the nosebleeds" is much more fun 🤷‍♀️
thank you for your follow up!
yeah i’m not that great at explaining it but i’m glad we got on the same page!
i think the reason why things are simplified is one thing i have always found interesting about taylor and a lot of her core fans that grew up with her music
its that she in a sense raised them to be on alert to her easter eggs, and made this a part of her persona, but she did so while her fans were also firming very personal and real bonds with taylor in their minds, to the point that the easter egging became melded into the big ball of feelings a lot of people harbor for their image of taylor swift which is an extension of their own identities. the patterns which a lot of us have come to see as PR are also core easter egging memories for a lot of fans, growing up with taylor, and represent a sense of comfort and culture.
which is a wordy way of saying that, any suggestion that taylor does the things she does for reasons either than what they experienced.. it can feel like a personal attack.
what’s so fascinating or beautiful about all this to me is that—and i think this is a common tension of our times—when you go to look at things objectively or try to deconstruct institutions or concepts or biases or modernity.. it can come off clinical and cold and cynical to a lot of people, you know? sort of… ruining ‘nice’ things, right?
but the thing is, when you do this with taylor you instead open up a whole fascinating and lush world of true love and pain, deep stories and fascinating people, actual secrecy and high stakes, that feels incredibly historic and full of meaning. like i can’t tell you how much coming upon gaylor but also kaylor specifically in all its complexities and intricacies has made me feel so much more present in my life and grateful to be alive and to experience the world.. to be more introspectful and to grow.. there’s something so moving and… epic… epoch-ful… about their story. i’m not sure how self aware taylor was when writing timeless but my god, it’s exactly what it is.
so while i definitely understand the mechanics of how some of her core fans instinctively push away thinking critically about taylor, i don’t think i will ever stop feeling like i want to share it to more people because it’s like… if you can break through.. it’s so fucking beautiful 😭😭😭

u totally should nott have told me u like answering these kinds of questions lol bc u set me offff 😭 i just have so many!! like this rewrite is genuinely the thing i’m most looking forward to and i’m not kidding))) since we’ve already talked abt the boys..fuck the boys…the girls are where it’s at!! inez and val’s relationship, is it gonna be any different? how are the altered personalities going to mesh/interact? so fun! love, always
omg girl, that's what i used to all day, everyday, on my old blog until like the beginning of this past summer! i love talking about the writing, characters, etc <3 and it always tickles me to know that people care enough to ask. i do feel like i know enough about my universe at this time to answer most things too, whereas a lot used to be shrouded in mystery back on the other side of things.
but, anyway, fuck the boys fr. this is true, i only care about the girls. as for inez and val's relationship, it's not too different. i would say they actually retain some of the most similarities. the plot rises and falls the same way for them in book 1 as it did with the og. but their dynamic is a bit different. firstly, not that it impacted too much, but i did drop valerie's old crush on inez, solely because i didn't really want to have two pairs of best friends with romantic (requited or not) history. it would feel repetitive and not as special, and dean and lex's past relationship definitely impacted an overall plot to a greater degree. so that "having a crush on inez" void in val's past was just filled by an ex-gf who's mentioned from time to time and may or may not make an appearance later on.
other than that, let's see...
well, firstly, inez does gain what i believe was my biggest grievance with maintaining the character of jill: a backbone. she retain's jill's know-it-all sense, but it's infused with a certain confidence (stubbornness) that jill lacked. she doesn't keel over when told, and while still a kind-fronting person, she does have that mean streak that is backed up by her ability to hold her own. it just makes her more of a difficult presence when valerie and lex get going, because she not only objects, but really means it (there is also a bit better of context surrounding her feelings on lex) and pretty much does everything in her power—too much—to try and interfere with their relationship in the name of "knowing what's best for valerie." and we all know how valerie feels about people who think and act like they can make decisions for herself better than she can.
valerie, on the other hand, has softened a considerable amount. i really liked where she ended up toward the end of the original work, where she was very sensitive and introspective, so i sort've worked my way back and implemented this from the beginning. i thought it was much more realistic a characterization for somebody with her type of trauma, and it's also in line with her [currently undiagnosed] OCD, which in general has her pretty tense and vigilant at almost all times. her obsessions and compulsions mostly start out revolving around the fear of contamination, and that combined with her deadly catholic guilt just keeps her very particular and maybe not the easiest to get along with unless you're willing to put the effort it. not many people are. inez is one of those people, however, so she's quite protective over her and is very in tune to all of her various needs, maybe to the point where she's not ready to accommodate the idea that somebody else is also down to be the same. valerie also suffers from chronic loneliness due to her night shift and initial isolation from the music sphere, which inez does not (she's friends with everyone in the band and even other bands sans lex at the story's start), so that also contributes to their eventual explosion. valerie is lonely and finds lex/wants connections beyond the one she has with her best friend, and inez is super protective over her and doesn't realize that she has what valerie wants (romantic/sexual/platonic connections galore). i think it makes sense that valerie ditches the moment she senses that rapunzel/mother gothel thing she felt with her mother with inez.
THAT being said, they're still besties despite their clashing work schedules, and they do recover by the end of the story. details to be seen in the story itself... <3 i mostly think these character differences make so much sense and still thankfully create a similar dynamic. valerie spent her whole childhood being repressed so that she's sort of internalized that docility and struggles to like, break from it? which is what makes lex so exciting, and then inez—who, while free of a traumatizing childhood, did grow up with four other siblings and was frequently talked over/reduced to the "baby sister" so that she wants to make sure her voice is always heard and essentially does just that. whether or not she's right isn't always what's important (sometimes she is), it's just that she can be a bit stifling with valerie's freedom in book 1, which is a lesson she has to learn. (where valerie then has to learn that sometimes people looking out for you has a purpose and they're not just doing it to do it.)
see, the best thing about rewriting is having the whole story in ur head already so that you're not just sorta winging it as you go and hoping the pieces connect. now, i can actually defend the plot and the characterizations, and they feel so much more cohesive! i love them, and i love their new versions more than i do their ogs <3 they feel even realer.
so, thanks for asking! and please know that i will accept every question always. i clearly love talking, and i love distractions from my boring ass internship even more. also -- if beta-reading the rewrite is something you're interested in, let me know! it would probably be the quickest way to see it because who knows what the battle of publication will look like! just message me or something if so <3 i think i have room for one more!

Dear Yuletide Writer 2022
This is my very first year doing Yuletide, so I have no idea what I’ve gotten myself into, but I’m going to endeavor to make myself as much of a good participant as I can. To that end, this letter! And thank you so much for taking the time out of your year to do something nice for someone else.
General Likes Either things that are cute and fluffy, or very introspective, character focused works. I’m as much of a sucker for a happy ending as I am for a really good tragedy, so whichever floats your boat. I like witty dialogue, interesting metaphors, enemies to lovers, good-old-fashioned touch starved characters, being meta about the idea of Story and Narrative, and resiliency in the face of extreme adversity—anybody who won’t give up. Dislikes Explicit sex scenes are not my favorite, and I don’t like endings without some kind of catharsis. I’d also prefer to stick away from drowning, and I don’t like soulmate tropes about 9 times out of 10.  Other I don't typically mind AUs (other genres, settings, put magic in there, the works) but I don't think they work super well with any of the things I was otherwise thinking of this year? But if you have a good idea go wild.
Thoughts On Specific Fandoms Henry V Whenever I’ve tried to sit down and analyze this play in my head, I keep coming back to the idea of Henry as a character who’s aware of the importance of image and narrative—not so much that he’s aware he’s a character in a play, but that he does know all the world’s a stage if that makes any sense. I’m most interested in him, and I’m least interested in the gang of side people from his old life. Also, after having seen the Kenneth Branagh film version… several times over, I can’t stop conceiving of him as being at least a little homosexual. Fellas is it gay to tell the person who just betrayed you to your enemy that he knew the very bottom of your soul? Doesn’t have to be the focus, but if you want to make it a part PLEASE be my guest. The Expanse I’ve seen all of the show, but I’ve only finished reading up through about two thirds of Cibola Burn. However, Joe Miller (and subsequently the Investigator) have my whole heart. Don’t worry about spoiling me though, I’m not too bothered. I’m trying to think of specific prompts and coming up dry, but if you want to bring in Holden and talk about that dynamic, that’s rad. Also love eldritch vibes if that’s the mood too. Jurassic Park I won’t lie, I’m not familiar with this as a fandom at all but the idea of reading Jurassic Park fanfiction appeals to me. I think it would be fun. In this one, I’d prefer to stay away from darker themes? Those are absolutely fine in the other two but I think I’d rather read something with a happy end here.
And that’s it I think! Thank you so much again, I can’t wait to read whatever it is you come up with.

Taiga was pretty meh to me when I watched it, but following your liveblogs has made me realize that I didn't fully appreciate it the first time around. There's a lot of good stuff here, especially in conjunction with the v-dramas.
yeah i get the sense most people let taiga sorta pass them by, and i'd guess for a lot of people it was an issue of marketing. all the pre-show hype was about taiga being the son of taro and there's a team of ultras this time! but the show's not really about any of that at its core. it touches on it from time to time (like this excellent arc with taiga's corruption), but the show overall is much more interested in exploring smaller, personal stories about humanity's relationship to aliens and how they can relate to and learn from one another. it's something that's been a staple of ultra for a long time but taiga is the series where it's felt the most fully realized to me. but thoughtful introspections on topics like immigration and prejudice aren't Marketable™ so you get the tri-squad and legacy stuff thrown into the mix
that's not to say those elements are completely superfluous, the tri-squad being comprised of three ultras each from a different "section" of the franchise reinforces the series' main theme of connecting with people that are different from you and they're certainly fun to have around, they're just not the focal point. taiga's a very classic series in that sense, a nice blend of new gen's aesthetics and advancements to the formula while going back to that episodic style of show where each episode is designed to tell a mostly self-contained story that'll get you thinking about something. that's why i don't mind all the backstory stuff being relegated to the voice dramas bc it frees the show up to being able to do what it's really good at while the VAs are there for all that juicy, juicy lore. it's a best of both worlds situation for me
anyways, im rambling, but yeah! im hoping taiga will be reevaluated with time (and hopefully a good mill creek release to get eyes on it again) bc if you can get on board with what it's actually doing rather than what it was initially pitched as, i think it's some of the best ultra out there

headcanons, WayV

Tumblr media
Kun
Kun, similarly to Taeil, would most likely fall for someone very mature and responsible. My dude is already the father of 7 children (I'm counting Chenle); the last thing he needs is one more.
Very closely related to that is what I think would be another of his priorities: whoever they are and however they are, they've got to get along with the rest of WayV—but it's even better if NCT as a whole likes them. As much as he'd love his s/o, I can't say that if it ever came down to choosing them or his members, he'd pick his partner. The guys are his family and a BIG part of his work, which takes over most of his life, so there's really no escaping it. Befriend the boys or bye-bye.
Once the boys approve of his crush, I think his interest would grow if they've got many pastimes or hobbies. I mean, c'mon, Kun can fly a plane on the same day as he sings his lungs out on Inkigayo and then goes home to cook some fancy-ass dinner. He doesn't need them to be on his level, though. Small, silly passions are the ones the loves the most. He'd listen to them talk about ANYTHING for like 3 hours straight, even if it's why their favourite type of constrictors are pythons. No, that is totally not about me. Shut up.
Tumblr media
Ten
Y'all remember that one WayV live where a fan asks for dating advice? Yes, I'm taking a lot from it. If you've seen it, it's not hard to come to the conclusion that Ten likes honest and straightforward people. He values himself way too much to lose his time with someone who's playing games, making him chase them and things of the sort. It's simple, really. If you like him, great, he'll give you the stars if you ask, but if not, great too, he'll live.
I can see that either he'd get with a person as extra as him or someone on Jaehyun's level of unbothered. Not many options here. You either become his partner in crime and bring hell on Earth with him, or you accept it well. Just don't be judgy or ask him to tone it down. That's the way he is, so why should he, you know?
Speaking of that, AUTHENTICITY, FOLKS. Being authentic is a big deal here. Ten is very true to himself and is always encouraging us to be, as well. Anyone he even considers dating will be nothing short of unique and unapologetically so. Being confident is just so attractive for him, I can't even—and yes, even if they're a bit strange. His partner might be a weirdo, but they're HIS weirdo, and he'll fight anyone that disagrees.
Tumblr media
Winwin
I think while other members might fall for someone as bright as the Sun, he'd love a person as calming as the Moon. You know that aesthetic? The gentleness, introspectiveness, wisdom, the tranquillity... yeah, fam. That's it for my boy Winwin.
Allow me to elaborate: all of those traits would make him very comfortable with the thought of being in a relationship. I can see Sicheng as having some trust issues, aside from not being very touchy or loud when it comes to affection. Having that peaceful aura would really help him grow closer to his partner because he knows they'll be patient with him and respect his boundaries.
He wouldn't mind if they're more on the talkative side, but he needs a person that can appreciate silence too. Something I see a lot for him is having loud thoughts that are hard to get rid of. Dating him would mean having nights when he's tired out of his mind and just doesn't have the strength to talk. His partner will have to understand that and stay by his side until his inner world is a bit less chaotic, just holding his hand and letting him take his time. I think allowing him to have his space and peace in the relationship is how he feels loved the most.
Tumblr media
Lucas
Yukhei would not mind one bit having a more childish, carefree partner. He's a big baby, c'mon, being around another baby would probably make him the happiest. I also think he meant it when he said he doesn't care about age (that one V-Live from years ago). Younger than him, older than him, my boy doesn't give a fuck. He really just wants someone to be silly with and smile a lot.
Having said that, I really can't see anything pushing him away from getting to know someone. Lucas is very lighthearted and loves people, so I think he'd have his fun getting to know anyone—and tbh, he would be hooked if they're a bit mysterious too. His interest would probably get the best of him, and he wouldn't stop whining about it to the other boys until he learns something about them. Very random, yes, but I can 100% see him complaining to WayV during dinner, LMAO.
One thing he wouldn't enjoy too much? A partner that can't take compliments or doesn't like being spoiled. Yukhei's affection is LOUD, and he really thrives off praise, cute pet names and giving gifts. He'd most likely be heartbroken if he finds out they don't like any of it, almost like they're shutting down his love itself.
Tumblr media
Xiaojun
Ah, my dear Dejun. The middle child of WayV. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, just look up "Xiaojun's middle child problems" on YouTube and go from there.  If you don't feel like it, lemme break it down to you: he's an angel, but the boys mostly accuse him of everything and anything and will throw him under the bus for fun. It's very entertaining. At this point, my boy doesn't have a fight or flight response; more like fight or fight (shhhh, I'll get into the headcanon now).
I think since he's used to being so defensive around his members, he'd appreciate a person that makes him feel both understood and safe. They'd share similar tastes (mint-choco ice cream, cough cough) and interests, but they'd most likely have a fiercer presence than him. Kind of intimidating, tbh. Very nice. I can definitely see that his partner wouldn't let WayV's chaos get to them and would, undoubtedly, be as much of a savage as the boys are.
He'd probably like it if they (playfully) fight his members and defend him from whatever-the-fuck they're blaming him for atm, so, yes, a bit protective. I think Dejun would simply find it cute and admirable, you know, their braveness. Would 10/10 brag about it when they're alone.
Tumblr media
Hendery
Kunhang is the ultimate crackhead, but a sweet one at that. Being a Libra (yes, I'm going there), I think he can actually be very sentimental around the people he trusts the most and needs to feel like he belongs. That leads me to point 1: his partner would also be a crackhead. That's REALLY not up for debate. Kunhang wouldn't even think about dating someone that's not as much of a weirdo as he is.
Point 2: he probably wouldn't like to be with a person that's too vain or superficial, whether that goes towards others or themselves. He's said before he hopes the fans can see him as more than a pretty face, and I can imagine that goes for his s/o too. He'd simply not feel connected to someone who's always dolled up or dressed to impress. Would definitely prefer a more casual style and personality.
I guess point 3 is kinda random, but it makes sense to me, so here we go. Kunhang would really like someone who's just in love with human nature. For him, it's the tiniest things: the way they laugh, how they drink their tea, which side of the bed they'd prefer... it all adds up to a person, and I think he'd feel over the Moon to be with someone who sees the same things as him. Comment on a small habit of his he thinks no one else would notice, and I swear he's yours.
Tumblr media
Yangyang
He is a spoiled brat, and I say that with all the love in the world. We've all heard WayV say how he basically tries to exploit them (mainly Hyung-line) at every opportunity he gets, which makes me think Yangyang might be a bit lazy, yes, but also that he'd do great with someone whose love language is acts of service.
Now, I'm not saying he'd tyrannize them or anything of the sort, but things would work very well if that is how his partner expresses their love. They wouldn't mind fetching him a drink, cooking something—or ordering out, if they can't... you know, stuff like that. It would make him feel very validated and cared for. I see that, for him, that's the ultimate type of devotion.
The last thing I can imagine he'd consider is whether they can take his teasing and antics or not. Yangyang's affection is really not shown through super heartfelt, sugar-coated moments; quite the opposite, actually. If he feels happy around someone, his way of showing it is that playful banter, insults and teasing, you know? He really wouldn't know what to do if the person takes everything he says to heart, like—Yangyang.exe has stopped working. So, yeah. A thick skin and elastic heart are a great combo for my boy.
Bonus: he'd lowkey cry if they get super hyped with his work as an artist. PLEASE praise his dancing, rapping, visuals and all. I don't think many people do, and even if he denies it, the compliments make him all fuzzy inside. #appreciateyangyang2021, he's underrated af.

hey there :DD saw your blog and was wondering if i could plsz request a jujutsu kaisen match up hehe :>>
i'm 18+ (sorry, not really comfortable with sharing that information explicitly on the internet), cis-female with brown eyes (behind my glasses lmao) and hair of the same colour that reaches my waist. on the shorter end of the spectrum whoops; am 5'2 hehe
personality... hm- i guess for starters i'm somewhere in between infj and intj, and maybe that's got to do with how soft i am towards other people, but hard on myself when no one's around to see. probably bc i can't take confrontation, and i'd just much rather listen to others and speak only when spoken to, but also bc i think the world j needs to be a bit kinder, so i tend to kinda try to be a decent person even on my bad days. it's a different story with myself tho, bc i have pretty high standards i will set out to achieve no matter what stands in my way, unless it's really that immovable of a force (i'm too stubborn for my own good sometimes, but... perseverence points !!!)
as for what i like... tangibly it would be music (listening and playing; i'm a classical pianist, though that's more of a hobby) and reading/spending time around stem. that could come off as a little snobbish, sorry, though that's really not my intent !! i just really like reading non-fiction and the discoveries that come with science that help make human lives a little better. in terms of interaction, i like spending time with my family and close friends when i have nothing better to do, chill tgt and all that. spending time w myself is also another v good option tho :D
my love language (giving) is physical touch and acts of service! stems from my wish to have people feel comfotable around me, though the former would prob drive people away HAHAH i do like hugging my friends/fam tho <33 i'm generally open with my affections (platonic) but a lot more reserved if i have a partner. receiving is a lil harder—probably physical touch as well, and quality time bc i'm usually p busy, and i'd like if i could section part of my day just to spend time w my s/o
that's p much it !! thank you so much for talong the time to read through my request :)) please take care of yourself and stay happy and hydrated !!
Hi anon, I hope you’re having a lovely day! No worries about sharing what you’re not comfortable with, it’s perfectly fine. Your privacy is your business :)
I match you with..
SUGURU GETO
Tumblr media
Geto is quite the complicated and problematic curse user, but he can relate to you in a sense. He works himself to the bone for his achievements and for what he believes in, whether it's to save or destroy humanity. He has grown hateful and bitter as he has continued to live this way, pressured to fulfill his own expectations. Yet, unlike him, you continue to be kind to the world around you. He wonders why you make such an effort. Maybe that is why he’s drawn to you.
You two can have such long intellectual conversations, exploring topics relating to medicine, science, and philosophy. Ideas and theories would be brimming between the two of you. He’s magnetized by the way you connect certain scientific discoveries to the betterment of humanity. It’s so different to how he views humans so he’s fascinated by your thoughts. Slowly, he begins to feel at ease with you, gradually accepting your affections while he expresses his own feelings for you. Overall, your relationship is insightful, thoughtful, and introspective.
Headcanons:
You might not like speaking a whole lot, but Geto wants to hear your thoughts and opinions. He thinks what you have on your mind is important.
His physical affections are subtle and experimental. A brush of his fingers as he tucks a strand of hair behind your ear. Maybe run his fingers through your hair. The lingering touch of his hand as it brushes against yours. It’s as if he’s testing your boundaries as well as his own. This eventually evolves into holding hands and leaving fleeting butterfly kisses here and there.
Geto can be romantic when he wants to. He’ll set aside a time to schedule a romantic date with you, complete with champagne and roses. With classical music playing in the background, he’ll whisk you off your feet and slow dance with you.
It’s become a relationship habit for the two of you to send each other academic articles and say something ironic like “I thought of you <3”
One of his safe places is lying down and listening to you play piano while he holds a book in his hands. It’s one of the most peaceful things he’s experienced, almost as if he doesn’t have to worry about anything at all.
A lot of times, he thinks you’re too kind to him. He sees you with your friends and family, and he feels like he doesn’t belong, considering everything he has done. He’s too far gone at this point, but you still treat him with such gentleness as if he was any other human being. He doesn’t think it’s fair to you.
Other potential match:
Satoru Gojo
Tumblr media
Gojo might be an odd person to be matched with, but his contrasting eccentricities could compliment your personality and interests. You’re kind, friendly, and helpful while Gojo is cocky, arrogant, and annoying to most people. He often comes off as childish and rude, but even he has a dream. And that dream is to make the jujutsu world better, not dissimilar to how you try in your own efforts to make the world a little better. He watches you with curiosity, wondering what buttons he can push to make you snap at him. But you’re stubborn and firm in your disposition, so it kind of becomes a game for Gojo.
As much as he might annoy you, there’s something familiar and nostalgic about his relationship with you. Because of this, he treasures you and wants to see you thrive. To see you be more self-indulgent and softer on yourself.
———
I hope this was alright!
Please look over this post before submitting a matchup request :) Thanks!

about to appreciate dc for like doing the bare minimum, but considering that its not beyond them to have inserted more gratuitous trauma in this story, im like surprised with the fact that they gave jason’s character a chance to move forward with respect to his moral code. its just, with comics being the perpetual second act that they are, and writers projecting their own opinions about a character’s personality instead of referring to what happened previously in continuity and building from that, i didn’t expect jason to make the decision to lay down his guns at the end of this story.
i feel like one of the reasons i was initially annoyed with this urban legends story was because it felt like batman was too much front and center and im tired of the bitch, and i truly wanted jason’s character development to happen without bruce because it feels like whenever bruce is there, he becomes more reactionary and his actions are quickly painted as self centered against batman’s code. and i guess, in this convoluted way zdarsky does that at the end; with batman debilitated and jason stating that he is making the decision to put his guns down for himself, its clear that jason has this agency and that his rage and emotions are all his own.
it felt v abrupt, and maybe i wanted jason to interact more with tyler, and maybe i didn’t want him to wear one of batman’s suits (sorry going through my hating batman era rn), but im glad jason is getting a chance to NOT kill. idk it felt like killing was such a fundamental part of his character, and that didn’t entirely make sense given his backstory. so im glad that dc gave him a chance to begin reframing his moral compass. and i’ve always felt that him getting a chance to put his guns down is key in order for him to have some semblance of character development. for us to be be shown that jason’s being far more prudent about his decisions to kill, i feel, indicates that he is strikingly aware of the consequences of his own actions, and that he takes responsibility of the butterfly effect of each death he causes. i truly believe that you can’t have an anti hero/morally gray character (especially one that exists in the context of criminal justice/enforcement) without it being clear that they are aware that no matter how evil the person, killing is still killing and death is still death. although execution of that wasn’t the best here, im glad that the writers let jason have that important bit of introspection.

Cyberpunk is consuming my brain ugh
I replayed tapeworm in cyberpunk and when Johnny says ‘still feel something sharp near your heart’ and v says ‘don’t think that’s ever going away’ (I’m soft) I don’t think that was V’s feelings. I think it’s Johnny’s and he feels it in V cuz he can’t feel the difference between them anymore. And I though for a second when you look out at the ocean that V was the hallucination and Johnny was in control even tho I know that’s not the case. (I think that’d be a cool story telling aspect like certain scenes V says something and no one response and Johnny says something smart and people react to that.)
Anyway my point is—
I think Johnny falls in love with V first and that was his something sharp near his heart. And I don’t necessarily mean romantic love.
Essentially their souls and minds are merging V becoming Johnny but Johnny also becoming V and I honestly think Johnny is the first to realize he feels a lot for ‘his little merc’. And while I don’t think he loved Rogue and Alt in healthy ways and I don’t think he was in love with rogue at the end of chippin in I do think the slow burn and reunion of rogue and the fast burning explosive romance with Alt helped Johnny slowly realize that while those were meaningful and influential to how he is now, it’s nothing like what he has with V.
I think CDPR missed an incredible opportunity to make the love (love in any sense of the word) story of the ages with or without a tragic ending, cuz let’s be real, there’s a happy life saving solution for both out there we just didn’t get it.
Like if cdpr would have slowed down the story alittle had more meaningful moments with Johnny that actually contributed to his affection % and let the player truely decide if they agreed or disagreed with Johnny I think a lot of their moment would have been so much more powerful. Cuz I played the game thinking how do I help this guy out of my head. And I agreed with Johnny a lot like why can’t I agree. Also the fact that the secret ending is hidden behind telling Johnny he fucked up as a way to make him realize his actions has consequences is stupid because by then I know he regrets it and I HATE telling him he fucked it up just to get the ending where my friends don’t die.
But seriously regardless of the romance options I think what V and Johnny have is something so unique that with all the ending I think they’re even more tragic in I don’t think the sole survivor. depending on the ending you get, is gonna last long without the other. Cuz Johnny literally doesn’t know how to not be completely all consuming in any relationship he has and V’s character arc is about trying to have these interpersonal moments after being so alone for so long and suddenly not being alone ever because of Johnny, they complete one another because they’re both so lonely and finally they have a another half to truely balance them out. There bond slowly goes from parasitic to symbyotic and I think Johnny the normally very outerpective/avoid my feelings at all cost has to become the introspective one and V vice versa. And I think Johnny figures it out first. And I think it’s a balance that however long v has to live without Johnny and whatever Johnny does when he leaves NC, the feeling of being whole, the balance, the equilibrium they found with one another is something that will haunt the character for the rest of their life and that’s horribly sad and I JUST WANT A HAPPY ENDING GODDAMNIT.
(Also I figure Johnny wasn’t a romance option cuz Keanu probably wasn’t comfortable with that but also the sex scenes in game are so fucking cringe just let me hold his hand and call him babe and I’ll call it good. Like literally all of them make me so uncomfortable I’m not romancing anyone in my main play though partly cuz of that, partly cuz I’m in love with Johnny and gonna end on Temprance cuz I wanna know what’s behind the black wall, and partly cuz I played female V first and can’t hit on Kerry)

rooftop
word count: 1993
Summary: The night before he marries Rapunzel, Eugene sits on the palace roof and finds himself with unexpected company. Eugene-centric.
Warnings: brief mention/gesture to Rapunzel’s abuse, some discussion of Eugene’s upbringing as an orphan, self-doubt and tangential themes, Eugene is not as confident as he seems in himself but he gets some reassurance, dialogue-heavy,  introspective for Eugene and his relationship to Rapunzel, overall v soft, Eugene almost cries but doesn’t.
A/N: Basically, I decided there were elements of Eugene and his relationship to this character that the canon content doesn’t really address much, and I really wanted to explore potential for their dynamic.
...
Eugene liked the palace roof, especially at night.
He couldn’t explain why, exactly. He supposes the habit had started when he and Rapunzel had first arrived at the palace. Eugene hadn’t slept particularly well those first several weeks; nightmares that didn’t involve a knife in his gut usually were filled with Rapunzel’s muffled scream. Add that to the fact that Eugene’s body hadn’t yet caught on to the whole ‘it’s okay to sleep near royal guards’ idea, and Eugene didn’t get much sleep at first. The roof had been one of the few places in the palace that he’d known how to get to already, thanks to his escapade with the Stabbington Brothers. It’d also had the added appeal of the promise of fresh air and quiet.
Even when the nightmares eventually eased and his fight-or-flight stopped kicking in every time so much as saw a guard, Eugene found himself drawn to the roof. He liked the near bird’s-eye view of the kingdom, and even in the dark of night, the stars just seemed brighter to him up here. The late summer air breezes through loose strands of his brown hair and Eugene takes a deep breath as tension eases from his shoulders.
“Wedding jitters?”
Eugene jumps at the unexpected voice, glancing over his shoulder. It’s well past midnight. He hadn’t expected anyone to be up here. And even if he had, the last person he expected to interrupt his evening was the queen.
“Your Majesty,” Eugene says quickly, moving to push himself to his feet before Queen Arianna stops him by lifting her hand. She’s in the purple gown she’d been wearing earlier in the day, but her hair is loose from its usual half-pulled-back regal style. It is almost startling to see her so… normal.
“Please,” she says, shaking her head. “I didn’t mean to startle you.” She nods to the space beside him. “Can I join you?”
“Of course.”
Eugene sits up a bit more as the queen settles herself beside him. For a long moment, neither of them says anything. Eugene listens to the quiet hoot of an owl and the very distant chirp of crickets. The thumb of his left hand skims his ring finger almost absent-mindedly.
“Did you ever learn to find constellations?” the queen asks after a moment.
Eugene glances at her, then follows her gaze to the sky above them. “A few,” he answers, realizing very suddenly that he can’t remember the last time he had a one-on-one conversation with her Majesty the Queen. It makes him suddenly nervous. “Some of the older kids at the orphanage used to use them to tell stories.”
The queen hums. When Eugene glances over quickly, she’s smiling faintly. “When my sister and I were children, we’d make up stories for the stars. It wasn’t until I was older that I learned some of the actual mythology.”
Eugene glances down at his hands. “The first time I’d read anything formal on the stars was—” he falters, “was when Rapunzel and I were first in Corona.”
“It is strange to think that Rapunzel was within our city walls for an entire day before we’d even realized.”
A part of Eugene wonders quietly if perhaps Rapunzel might’ve been sooner reunited with her parents if they hadn’t been ducking and dodging guards left and right that day. Even though none of them—not even Rapunzel—knew at the time that she was the Lost Princess, Eugene remembers how the Queen had taken one look at her daughter and seemed to just… know.
“We didn’t know,” Eugene says, “who Rapunzel was.”
“I know,” she replies easily. “In a strange way, I think it was best that Rapunzel experienced our kingdom as a member of it, as part of the city’s community, before she knew she was to rule it.”
Eugene’s mouth quirks fondly at the memory. He remembers the way her tongue poked out between her lips when she’d painted the crest of Corona in the street. He remembers her gasp of wonder when he’d showed her Corona’s library. And then, of course, how she’d managed to get an entire city square full of people to join her in a dance. Even Eugene himself, who hadn’t danced in many years.
“She really fell in love with the people of Corona that day,” Eugene tells her softly.
Eugene senses more than sees the way the queen glances at him. “From what she’s told me, it wasn’t just the people of Corona she fell in love with that day.”
Eugene feels his cheeks warm, and he’s suddenly grateful for the cover of night. His thumb skims his left ring finger again, his heart giving a small squeeze at the words.
He clears his throat. “She, ah—she wasn’t the only one.”
The queen hums again, but when Eugene looks over at her, her smile is soft and her gaze is trained out over her kingdom. “Are you nervous for tomorrow, Eugene?”
He pauses before he answers. He looks back out over the kingdom. If the queen had asked him at any other point during the day, he’s pretty sure he would have answered immediately. Of course not! But the night makes him want to be more fully honest. Eugene wonders if the tiredness lowers his defenses. Or if the dark offers an illusion of safety. Or if the quiet of the world in nightfall forces a gravity to the words spoken in it. Eugene doesn’t know.
But he’d be lying if he said that there wasn’t a part of him that was nervous. Though now, it was more about remembering his vows and the toast the groom was expected to deliver. The details. The only detail Eugene wasn’t nervous about was the rings, as he’d put Max and Pascal in charge of those. But the idea of getting married? To Rapunzel? That… made a warm, fluttery feeling expand in Eugene’s chest that he knew to be excitement, not nerves.
“Not for the reasons I’d thought I’d be,” he answers eventually. “If you’d asked me five years ago if I’d be nervous the night before my wedding, I would probably laugh at you first.”
“Marriage wasn’t something you wanted?”
“Well, it…” He sighs. It wasn’t that he didn’t want it. It was more… “I wouldn’t have considered it as something meant for me.”
Marriage meant several things needed to be true. He’d have to want to settle down. He’d have to fall in love. And he’d have to have that person fall in love with him in return. Five years ago, none of those things had seemed attainable for him. He hadn’t even dared to dream that perhaps they could be some day. Instead, he’d convinced himself that security could be found in the accumulation of wealth. After all, it seemed to have worked for Flynnigan Rider.
But then he’d met Rapunzel. And everything he’d convinced himself of had been turned upside down.
“Something must have changed your mind.”
“Rapunzel,” Eugene answers without hesitation. “Rapunzel changed everything.”
Queen Arianna chuckles softly. “Yes, I seem to remember you had been a wanted thief prior to your return with my daughter.”
Eugene ducks his head sheepishly, turning his gaze to distant, silhouette figures of citizens moving through the streets of Corona below them. He can feel the careful gaze of the queen on him and it makes him feel, not for the first time, uncharacteristically self-conscious. He knew how the king felt about him, but Eugene had always had a harder time reading the queen.
“Well, what can I say?” Eugene rubs the back of his neck. “Rapunzel brought out the best in me. She continues to do so, every day.”
There’s a brief, thoughtful pause. “You know, I’ve never truly known my daughter without you there too. But I can see how you bring out the best in her, too.”
That brings Eugene up short. It certainly hadn’t been what he expected. “That’s… kind of you, Your Highness,” he decides. It’s a nice thought, Eugene thinks, and one that he desperately wants to believe. But Eugene can’t help the haze of self-doubt that lingers in the back of his mind, formed from years of experience and countless voices insisting he wasn’t enough for his parents, wasn’t enough to be adopted, wasn’t enough—
“You may not always believe it,” the queen interrupts as if she can read his mind. Eugene startles, then stares at her as she continues. “But it’s true. Rapunzel doesn’t talk much about her childhood, and when she does, we both know she tends to gloss over a lot of the… unpleasant details. But from the little that she has shared, it’s become clear that for a long time, Rapunzel didn’t have someone who truly believed in her. Who looked out for her in a way that encouraged her strength and independence, rather than hiding her away.”
“I—”
“You believed in her when others doubted,” she presses on, “You believed in her when doubt in herself was all she’d been taught. You looked at my daughter and… saw there was more in her.”
Eugene looks at the queen, wide-eyed. He opens his mouth to reply (because of course, of course he believed in Rapunzel, he always had and always would) but words get lost somewhere on the way up his throat, which is growing unexpectedly tight.
The queen meets his eyes, her green eyes sparkling in the dark. “You two bring out the best in each other, Eugene.”
Eugene is certain now that his face must be bright red. He wonders if she can tell in the dark. “I, um… I…” he pauses, then swallows thickly. “Thank you, Your Majesty.”
The corner of the queen’s lips curl up in a soft smile. “I only speak the truth. Frederic and I fought against all odds to keep hope alive that our daughter would one day come back. It was shock enough when she did. I never, in a million years, would have expected that on the same day I get my daughter back, I’d also be gaining a son.”
Eugene freezes, his heart giving an unexpectedly warm squeeze.
“I know you are in your twenties,” she adds, oblivious to the way Eugene’s eyes are beginning to sting the faintest bit, “and I know you spent your childhood believing yourself to be an orphan. I know you’ve recently been reunited with your birth father. I know all of that, and I apologize if I am crossing any lines, but… should you find yourself wanting a mom, Eugene… just know that I already consider you my son.”
The edges of Eugene’s vision begin to blur and he blinks quickly to clear it. He had spent his entire life either wishing for a mom or berating himself as weak for wanting one in the first place. He is 26 but he feels very suddenly like he is a small child again, wondering—for the millionth time—what it might feel like to be hugged by his mom.
He should say something, he realizes, but his throat is still too tight for all the things he thinks he should say.
When he does eventually speak, his voice sounds a bit thick even to his own ears. “Well, I… That is, when Rapunzel and I were looking at Corona wedding customs, we saw that the bride and her father usually share in a dance, followed by, um, the groom and his mother. We, ah… we were going to forgo that last part, but… and I know it’s short notice, but… that is, Your Highness—”
“Eugene,” she interrupts, but gently, “I would love to share in the mother-son dance with you.”
Eugene releases a breath and smiles. “Great.” He swallows again, then pushes himself to his feet. “Well, big day tomorrow. I should probably get some rest.”
She nods. “Goodnight, Eugene.”
Eugene’s smile grows a bit more. “Goodnight, mom.”
