If duck lived to season 4 of the walking dead game what do you think he’d be like?
omg okay I’m gonna make this a more of an analysis (and then if we want hcs I can more than oblige)
So, assuming that Duck lives, I’m gonna go on a whim and say that Katjaa does too (at the very least, she doesn’t die at the same time as him in season 1). If Duck lives then, then I think it’s a fair assumption to say that Katjaa does too.
I think, whether a choice or not, Duck would mature very quickly. My hunch would be that a specific event would probably snap some adulthood into him, similar to how Clem became hardened as the game progresses.
I’d imagine that Katjaa would be a little too soft for the world and would eventually pass away before Kenny or Duck, and maybe that would be the event that hardens him. Either that, or something similar to the Ranch, or even the ranch itself.
I think Duck would become like Mitch: quiet and stoic, but also soft and open with people he trusts. I’d like to think that he and Clementine have a sibling-esque bond and tease each other, especially when it comes to how they want to parent/raise AJ.
I think he would get good at sketching or wood whittling over time, itching for something to do with his hands if they run out of paper or coloring supplies. I also think he would be the one wanting to teach AJ how to shoot a bow-and-arrow and fish, but I also think Duck would be a little easier-going than Clem; slightly less hardened by the world. I think he would still have an inner-child that he lets show more than Clem does.
ANYWAYS maybe I’m totally out on left field right now haha

Here, Take My Scarf (Brody x gn!Reader)
A/N: I’ve been a super winter-y mood so here’s a lil one shot for you guys. This pairs super well with my Ericson kids holiday headcanons which you can find here. This was also heavily inspired by this December otp prompt found here!
Special thank you to @littlesugarwords for inspiring all my writing over the years, especially for this fandom! Even though you and I have never interacted one on one I feel like I should thank you for simply sharing your lovely words with the world<3 If you’ve never checked out her work, I 100% suggest you do so. She is one of my favorite creators!
“We have to hurry!” Brody yelled over the cold wind whipping through the trees.
She and (Y/N) had been out scavenging when a huge gust of wind blew in grey clouds over their heads. They climbed down from the house they’d been scouting out just as heavy snowflakes began to flurry through the air.
The visibility rate between the trees was low. The snow was sticking to everything very quickly, coating their vision in bright, foggy white. The good thing about the cold was that it made walkers slow, the bad thing was that it made them invisible.
“Brody! You’re getting too far ahead! Wait for me, please!” (Y/N) called from behind her. The girl’s figure was quickly disappearing through the flurries in front of her. Brody’s orange jacket halted and (Y/N) caught back up to her.
“I don’t want to lose you. We’re going to have to hold hands,” (Y/N) said as they took in Brody’s expression.
Her eyes were stark blue in contrast to the snow, her hair wind-whipped and wild. Her cheeks were red and wet with melted snowflakes. She looks messy and pretty all at once.
“Here,” (Y/N) said, digging around in their backpack. They pulled out a blue knitted scarf. “Ruby made it for me. Take it, please. You look like you’re freezing.”
“I am.” Brody shivered. “The wind is so strong the snowflakes are hurting my eyes.”
(Y/N) quickly wrapped the scarf around Brody’s head, making sure her mouth and pink nose were tucked safely away.
“There,” they said as they took her bare hand. “I’ll get in front of you, come on.”
“O-Okay,” Brody stuttered out and stumbled forward, a little dazed. Her cheeks grew rosier under the scarf.
By the time they made it back to the school, both survivors were wind-whipped and out of breath. Stiff, red fingers still clutched one another in a tight hold.
“Holy shit,” Aasim said as he opened the gate for them. “We were worried about you guys! We can hardly see ten feet from the gate!”
“Tell me about it,” (Y/N) said, panting. They let go of Brody’s hand a bit reluctantly. Brody immediately stuck her hand inside her pocket and (Y/N) blushed, embarrassed. Maybe holding hands wasn’t a good idea after all.
“You guys head inside. Marlon has a fire going in the music room,” Aasim said.
The two were greeted with relieved smiles and hugs when they came in, tugging off their wet shoes and bringing themselves close to the roaring fire.
Ruby carried over a big, woolen blanket. “We used most of them as insulation over the windows or for the hot bricks to sleep with, so we only have the one. Scoot close and I’m sure you both will make do.”
“Thanks, Rubes,” (Y/N) smiled.
 Brody didn’t say a word.
“I’m honestly not that cold if you just want to take it,” (Y/N) said to the girl as she stared absentmindedly into the fire.
“No!” she piped up immediately, whipping her head towards (Y/N). “No, we can share.”
(Y/N) scooted a bit closer, wrapping the blanket around both of them tightly. They stayed like that for a long while, until the crowd slowly dispersed one by one in pursuit of sleep, until all that was left was (Y/N), Brody, and the holiday classics vinyl humming on the record player.
“Brody?” (Y/N) whispered.
“Mh?” Brody asked, turning to look at (Y/N) only slightly. They were so close, if they faced one another entirely their noses would brush.
“I just wanted to see if you were still awake.”
She nodded.
“If I get up to do something, you promise you’ll close your eyes?”
“What are you gonna do?” she asked nervously.
(Y/N) laughed quietly. “Nothing bad. It’s just a surprise.”
“Okay.” Brody chewed her lower lip and closed her eyes.
(Y/N) slipped out from under the blanket, feeling the cold take over as the fabric slipped to the floor. Brody shivered and pulled it tighter around herself.
(Y/N) went to their backpack and unzipped it, glancing at Brody as they did to make sure her eyes were still closed. Upon seeing they were, (Y/N) pulled out a string of battery-powered lights they’d found at the last house they were scouting. (Y/N) dragged one of the cushioned chairs to the wall and stood on it, haphazardly stringing the lights across the nails that stuck crookedly out of the wall. (Y/N) climbed off the chair and stood before their work a bit bashfully.
“You can open your eyes now, Brody.”
Brody’s eyes fluttered open, her mouth parting slightly as she took in the scene before her.
“(Y/N), you shouldn’t have.” A soft gasp escaped her lips, her eyes glittering in the light.
“Do you like it?” (Y/N) asked.
Brody nodded, and in a bold move, reached for (Y/N)’s hand and pulled them back down beside her.
“They’re so pretty,” she said, still looking up at the lights in awe. “They remind me of Christmas as a kid, you know? How’d you know I’d like them?”
(Y/N) shrugged. “You like pretty things.”
“Must be why I like you,” Brody said. Her face immediately blushed pink. She turned away in embarrassment. “Oh, wow. I’m sorry. Did I really just say that?”
“You think…I’m pretty?” (Y/N) asked with a small smile.
Brody turned back to them hesitantly, nodding slightly.
A huge grin broke out over (Y/N)’s face.
“Well, what if I thought you were pretty, too. Beautiful even?”
Brody’s face grew more red. “Then I-”
(Y/N) leaned in and kissed her. It was only a brief peck, but it was enough to leave Brody swaying, entirely dumbfounded.
“I’m sorry-” (Y/N) said after Brody only stared at them.
“Wait,” Brody said, lying her hand over theirs. “Do it again.”
(Y/N) leaned in and kissed them again. Brody’s hand hesitantly went to (Y/N)’s cheek. (Y/N) ran their fingers through her wild hair. They remained like that, wrapped up and breathlessly kissing one another under a tangle of Christmas lights, for the rest of the night.

Girlie I love ur writing‼️‼️ can we get Luke reacting to a reader (15-ish) who uses crutches? Ty so much
omg let's go this is gonna be cuuuuute
Luke had no idea what has happened.
Y/N seemed fine just earlier that day.
And now, right at the brink of dawn,
Just as his night shift was ending,
There they were.
They stumbled into the living room,
At the crack of dawn,
With two make-shift crutches made of sturdy branches.
Luke leapt to his feet,
Eyes wide and panicked.
"What the hell happened?"
Kenny sauntered in, sighing,
Hands on his hips as he watched them start toward the couch Luke was once sitting on.
"They got knocked out of a tree."
"What!?" Luke was practically fuming.
He flipped around to Y/N,
Helping them to sit on the couch.
"Easy, take it easy," he hushed. "Hold onto me."
The instant they were sitting, Luke turned,
Eyes blazing,
Fists clenched.
"Why the hell would you like this happen to--"
"Calm down," Kenny scoffed, raising a brow at his concern.
Kenny crossed his arms defensively over his chest.
"It happens all the time out on the farm."
Luke closed his eyes in anger.
"But there's no one out here who can help them!"
Kenny shrugged again. "You have a doctor."
"He can't fix a broken leg!" Luke scoffed.
He couldn't believe this.
To think,. he trusted Kenny with Y/N for one day,
One. Day.
And this is what happened.
"They're gonna be fine, I know it's not broken."
"How do you know?" Luke asked.
What if it became infected?
What if Y/N got sick?
What if they--
"I can tell it's a simple sprain. It'll heal."
Even if that was the case, Luke's rage didn't simmer.
"Really, I'm okay Luke." Y/N called from the couch,
Trying to relax his frazzled nerves.
Luke paused and turned,
Sweetly smiling,
Hoping to put them at ease even slightly.
"Of course, kiddo."
After hesitating a moment,
Watching them turn away to look out the window,
Luke snapped back to Kenny.
"If you ever let anything like this happen to them again,"
Kenny's eyes widened,
Only partially,
As Luke began.
"I swear to God, it'll be the last thing you do."
While Kenny wasn't scared,
Merely taken aback,
He couldn't help but smile when Luke turned his back on him.
It was adorable how much he cared.
In a silly, too-big-for-his-britches young adult kind of way.
But it filled Kenny's heart to see someone care about Y/N that much.
He watched as Luke wandered to Y/N's side,
Sitting beside them,
Gently asking them what hurt,
And what he could do.
Kenny chuckled and shook his head.
That was all any of them could really ask for.

Could you possibly do Steve Harrington x sick reader headcanons? I have anemia and it's awful and I could use some Steve comfort
this is gonna be sweet :’) enjoy friend 💛
This was very unlike them.
Y/N never ignored his texts or calls.
Especially when they don’t show up at school that day.
If he’s worried, he always texts,
And they always have an answer that makes sense.
“I’m home sick,”
“I’m out of town,”
“Family emergency,”
But this? This wasn’t normal.
Now he was worried.
After first period, he was out of there.
He wandered out the front door so confident, no one questioned him.
A few minutes later, he was parked in front of their house,
And was walking to their front door.
He knocked,
Rang the doorbell,
And squinted in frustration.
He knew what his last resort was.
He wandered to the back of the house,
Stood right under the balcony,
And cleared his throat.
“Y/N?” He called up,
Fingers crossed,
Hopeful.
He called out a few more times,
Waiting for any reaction,
Before he gripped the side of the house and began scaling.
He had done it many times.
(But Y/N’s parents didn’t need to know that.)
By the time he hit the second-story window, he snapped it open,
Tumbled inside,
And grunted when he hit the floor.
“Well that wasn’t as graceful as I would’ve liked.”
From inside the room, he heard a faint chuckle.
Steve shot up from the floor,
His eyes catching Y/N’s gaze.
“Y/N!”
Y/N meekly smiled and chuckled,
Their shoulders rattling.
“What are you doing here?”
Steve pulled himself off the floor.
“I was wondering where you were.”
“So you thought you should break in?”
Steve hesitated,
Hands in his pockets.
“Uh,” he started.
Y/N smirked. “I’m teasing.”
Their smile softened to one of tenderness.
“It means a lot that you care.”
Steve’s stare melted into a smile,
Relief flooding his features.
Hesitantly, giving them the chance to shoo him away, he wandered closer.
“How do you feel?”
“Gross,” they said with a faint chuckle.
Almost one of defeat.
“I feel cold and tired.”
Steve frowned, sitting on the edge of their bed.
“How long have you been feeling like this.”
Y/N shrugged. “It happens on and off all the time.”
“All the time?” Steve asked,
Brows furrowed in worry.
“It is what it is.”
Steve frowned,
Glancing around the room,
Then pushing himself to his feet.
“Steve?’
“Give me a second,”
Then, he was out the bedroom door,
Leaving it open.
Y/N could hear running water,
The puttering of dishes,
And the occasional hum or sigh.
In 10 minutes, he had returned,
A small tray full of food in his arms.
“Steve?” Y/N said, practically in a whisper.
They were stunned.
A bowl of soup, a glass of water, some green tea, and a small dish of crackers.
“Steve, you--”
He hushed them, sitting on the edge of their bed,
Carefully placing the tray across their lap.
“You’re all alone,” he hushed, handing them the glass of water,
Smiling tenderly.
“Let me take care of you.”
Y/N paused,
Then blushed,
Then smiled.
“Fine, I cave.”
The two smiled at one another,
Relishing in each other’s company until evening fell.

Your work is literally so good omggg. Can we get the cabin group reacting to finding a puppy? Like how they'd take care of it afterwords and such??
Have an amazing night <3
OMG I love this 🐶
Luke: The moment Luke heard a dog bark, he tensed. He was worried it was a guard dog or worse; a hunting dog. Dogs were massive assets in their world, and he was petrified he would soon be bait. But, as a dog scurried out from the brush, Luke could immediately tell it wasn’t dangerous. It was running in circles, seemingly chasing a butterfly. He smiled. “Hi boy!” The dog stopped its chase, finally spotting the human. Without a second thought he sprinted. At first, Luke was worried, but as the dog approached, tail wagging and tongue out, he knew he was safe. Immediately, Luke started playing with him, having more fun that evening than he had in weeks. They needed to take him in. Rebecca would be unhappy, but she’d have to deal.
Nick: Nick was sitting outside, relaxing with Luke when a sound caught their attention. Nick reached for his gun, but relaxed when he saw a four legged creature trot out from the bushes. Luke and Nick snapped to look at each other at the same time. “A dog?” They both gawked. Immediately, they dropped everything and ran for it, razzing and rolling around in the grass with them. “What the hell?” Rebecca scoffed, sticking her head o9ut of the front door, watching them. “Get away from that thing!” She scolded. Luke and Nick acted like they couldn't hear her, with Nick gleefully scratching the dog behind the ears. “Oh you’re such a good boy, aren’t you?” He cooed, loving the creature like family already.
Pete: “What are we all standing around f--” Pete cut himself off when he finally approached the cabin windows, jaw agape. Luke was running around with a dog - a real one - and they were playing together in the front yard. “No fuckin way,” he sighed under his breath. Rebecca scoffed at his language (seeing as Sarah was close by) but Pete didn’t care. He got outside and jogged toward the action, laughing gleefully. “No way!” He called, the dog snapping its attention to him. “Does that mean we get to keep him?” Luke asked, voice high and hopeful. Pete laughed, playing with the dog at his feet. “As long as we can convince Rebecca,” he said with a smirk. Him and Luke shared a hearty laugh, the dog eagerly asking for their attention regardless.
Carlos: Carlos was extremely hesitant the moment he saw Luke and Nick playing with an unknown dog outside. “Hey, hey!” He called, running outside the cabin’s front doors. “Be careful, we don't know where that thing is from!” “His name is Arthur.” Luke tossed back cockily, implying that the dog was about to become a new member of their team. Carlos crossed his arms and shook his head, daring him. “Come on, Carlos. Don’t you think Sarah would love this?” “She would. And it’s dangerous. That’s the exact problem.” After promising to ensure Sarah’s safety first and foremost - and with a promise to be fully in charge of the dog - Nick and Pete continued their joyous play with Carlos, hesitantly, watching with crossed arms from the sidelines.
Sarah: Sarah wandered to one of the windows, wondering what all the fuss was about. When she spotted the dog running blissfully outside, her eyes widened. “A dog! A real one!” It had been who knows how long since Sarah saw a live, healthy, happy dog. It was amazing. She started running for the door, but her father put a hand on her shoulder. Turning to him, and seeing the excitement in her eyes, he softened. “Stay behind Luke and Nick. And ask them before trying to pet it, okay?” Really, Carlos was placing his trust in Luke more so than Nick. Sarah, thrilled, gave him a quick hug and darted outside. They played fetch outside for hours.
Rebecca: Rebecca was unhappy. The moment a dog was spotted running around outside, with Luke, Nick and Pete in blissful joy - Rebecca huffed. “We’re not bringing it inside.” “Why?” Sarah frowned. “It might have fleas. Or rabies. Or even worse, it could be pregnant.” The group stood silently, studying Rebecca’s rounded belly in silence. But, in terms of voting, Rebecca knew her side was favored to lose. “As long as it doesn’t truck in mud, I guess I’ll have to live with it.” All Pete could think about was how perfect and ready Rebecca was to be a Mom. She already had the attitude and the language down pat.
Alvin: Alvin beamed the moment he spotted a dog running around outside with Luke and Pete. Despite Rebecca’s horror, he started outside. “No way!” He called out to the others. In pure joy, the dog ran over to him, eager for more attention. He laughed in glee as he pet the dog, throwing a stick for it to chase. He hadn’t had a dog since he was a child - back before this entire mess started - and he missed the joy his childhood best friend gave him. Maybe now, this was a chance to get that feeling again, and save a little puppy’s life.

ooo u still write for twdg???
can I request Ben sleeping and/or cuddling w their s/o??? (๑>▽<๑)
yes ahhh this is so cute!!
Ben was normally terrified of physical touch.
Especially these days.
A single brush against your arm could be a friend,
Or a near-death experience.
But with Y/N, it felt different.
He felt like he could let his walls down,
Just a little bit,
And contact didn’t feel as foreign.
In fact, it felt comforting.
One night, he came back into the Motel lot after gathering firewood.
He was exhausted and his hands were sore.
He couldn’t wait to curl up in bed,
Leaving the stress of the day behind him.
Lilly had even given him the go ahead to sleep for an extra hour in the morning.
By the time he reached his room, he opened the door,
Tossed his bag down on a nearby chair,
And sighed,
Leaning against the door as it clicked shut.
Suddenly, he heard the shuffling against sheets.
He tensed, worried it was a walker who had broken in.
He reached for his back pocket,
Where he always kept his pocket knife,
Before a light snapped on and he spotted Y/N,
Rubbing their eyes and sitting upright on the couch.
Ben sighed, shoulders deflating.
“Y/N,” he breathed.
They smiled sleepily.
“I was waiting for you,” they said, voice gruff with sleep.
Ben smiled faintly, cheeks warming.
“Why?” His voice was gentle and sweet,
Wanting them to keep their sleepy nature.
“Because I miss you when you’re out all day.” They said with a smile,
Ears and neck growing pink alongside his.
They were so sweet when they were bashful.
Ben loved it when they got like this;
Sleepy and sappy.
“I missed you too.”
Finally, he gestured to the neatly made bed.
“Ready to rest on an actual bed?”
Y/N giggled and smiled,
Rolling onto the bed without a second thought.
On behalf of both of them, Ben pulled the sheets back,
Sweeping it over Y/N’s body,
And crawling under himself.
Before Y/N had a chance to say anything, Ben slid closer
Wrapped his arms around their waist,
And settled his head on their shoulder.
Y/N burst into flames,
Their cheeks raging and their heart soaring.
Ben could feel it, but didn’t say a thing.
“Did you have an okay day?” He asked softly,
Y/N smiled, burying their red cheeks intro their pillow,
“Yeah,” they replied, muffled by the fabric. “It was good.”
Ben smiled,
Humming to himself as he curled his face into Y/N’s hair.
“I’m happy to hear that.”
Somehow, his hands grew less sore holding his partner,
And his arms, that were aching from hauling wood, eased.
It was as if Y/N was his cure.
“Lilly said we can sleep in tomorrow.”
Y/N gave a small gasp,
Thrilled for spending the morning with him.
They would be warm, safe, and loved,
Chatting about their plans for the day.
Y/N couldn’t wait.
“That’s perfect!”
Ben chuckled to himself, resting his lips against their shoulder.
“I know.”
He couldn’t wait either.

idk if you still do wolf among us Headcanons but saw the newest trailer and wanted ask for some Flycatcher (Aka frog prince) ones please. Maybe some on him turning back into a frog?
awe this is gonna be so fun!!! I’m so excited for season 2 it’s unreal omg omg
Flycatcher didn’t mind his cleaning work.
In fact, some days, he rather liked it.
He could let his mind wander and roam,
And he could remain by his lonesome.
However, being alone all the time would start to get to him.
He longed for more connections in his life.
More friends, a partner, a family,
Someone or something he could trust.
And one night, as he worked, that was all he could think about.
He finished the mopping plainly,
Headphones on,
Mind elsewhere.
Y/N wandered through the front doors,
Hoping the business was still open,
But spotted Flycatcher instead.
He turned, startled at the sight of a stranger in at this hour,
Fell back,
And poof.
In a puff of smoke, there he was.
A frog.
It happened whenever he got intensely scared or shocked.
That, and him running out of Glamour.
Y/N paused, then smiled,
Chuckling to themselves.
“Sorry?” They said, more a question than a statement,
They chuckled to themselves again.
“I wasn’t expecting that.”
Flycatcher croaked.
Ugh.
How embarrassing.
“What are you looking for?” He asked sheepishly.
“A map. Do you guys have any?”
“Nope.”
“Shit,” Y/N sighed,
Then shrugged.
“Oh well. Thanks anyways.”
Instead of leaving, Y/N knelt down,
Scooping the frog into her hands,
And setting him down on the front counter,
Ensuring he wasn’t at risk of harm.
After giving a small wave, they left,
The door, jingling behind them.
Flycatcher sighed, croaking to himself,
Then hopped into one of the back rooms,
Waiting for it to wear off.
The next morning, no longer dejected,
Flycatcher rolled in at opening time,
And clocked in,
When he wandered back into the lobby, Y/N was there,
Waiting,
And smiling when they locked eyes.
His eyes widened.
Teasingly, Y/N lifted th3eir hands. “Don’t freak out,”
They chuckled and Flycatcher gave a nervous smile.
“I don’t want you turning again.”
“Trust me, I don’t want that either.”
Y/N smiled sweetly,
Charmed by the redhead.
“I wanted to come by to apologize for scaring you last night,”
Flycatcher felt heat in his chest.
Wow. How sweet of them.
“Thank you,” he said with a chuckle.
Quickly, he cleared his throat and spoke again.
“U-Uh but you don’t need to apologize,” he finally fumbled out.
Y/N grinned.
“I’m glad it wasn’t too much of a bother.”
“Not at all,” he said,
Waving one of his hands casually.
With a nod, Y/N turned and started for the door.
“Until next time,” they said,
Then vanished.
Every now and then, Y/N would pop in.
To say hi and make small talk before leaving.
Eventually, they started coming in later and later,
Closer and closer to closing.
Finally, when they popped in one day, Flycatcher jumped,
Yelped,
And boom.
Again.
Y/N jumped.
“Yes! I did it!”
Flycatcher croaked.
“You were trying to?”
“I wanted to see it again,” Y/N said plainly,
Wandering forwards and picking the creature up.
Suddenly, Flycatcher felt flustered.
“I think it’s adorable,” Y/N said softly.
“Why?”
“Because now I get to talk to you about more than just the weather and you can’t go anywhere.”
Flycatcher smiled coyly,
Finally understanding.
If only Y/N knew he would’ve chatted with them regardless.
He loved their company.
He didn’t need to be forced.
“Works for me,” he said through a chuckle,
And Y/N tenderly smiled.
They might have been the first person to be charmed by Flycatcher’s ‘real self’.
He loved that.

long time no see 💛
hi guys :’)
to make a long story short, I’ve been in the midst of an insane depression episode these last few months and have only recently come out of it.
I left an abusive, toxic job (my mentor threatened to send me dead animal pictures when he learned I had a rabbit that my late sister gave to me, omfg), I lost a lot of friends, and one of my best friends from high school committed suicide. it’s been a long while. not to mention that me and my father both caught covid, and I was forced to work a job that was so belittling to me. (they made me teach MATH TO CHILDREN. I am stupid, guys lol)
but...I’m here to say that I’m back 💛 and I’m healing. after almost a year of utter hatred for my life, I’m better.
CBR, a popular gaming website, offered me a gaming writing job. I have a partner I love that I’m moving in with soon.I left the jobs that were weighing me down. I actually, for the first time in a year, care about writing again.
I’m so excited to be back.
I’m going to clear out my inbox (not everything, just ones I feel like I can’t write well) and then will be here, writing actively, once again. for the first time in a long time, I don’t hate life. I’m happy to be here.
love you guys sm. I’m happy to be back <3

I’ll pop them under the cut because these suckers are longgggg but I hope you like them!! I’m really proud of them :’)
Marshall: Marshall was exhausted when he got home from work. All he wanted to do was put his feet up and turn on the TV to something stupid. But the instant he sat on the couch with a sigh - his coat not even off yet - he heard something shuffling in the other room. He sat upright. “Y/N?” He stood, shrugging his coat off and tossing it on the back of a chair as he made his way to the bedroom. There, he found Y/N, curled up on the bed. They were on their side, their hands over their ears, and their body wracked with sobs and shivers. “Oh my God, Y/N.” He rushed to the side of the bed, kneeling closest to their head and petting their hair. “What happened?” He didn’t bother to ask if they were okay. He knew they weren’t. Y/N attempted to speak, but could only make out uneven breaths and whimpers. “Hey, hey, it’s okay,” he soothed, brushing tenderly at their hair. They got like this from time to time, but he didn’t mind. He was always worried, never annoyed, despite what Y/N’s panic would often have them believe. “I-I’m sorry,” they wheezed, hardly able to get the words out between sobs. “Don’t be, hun.” He placed a gentle kiss to the forehead. “Give me a sec.” Quickly, he darted to the living room. He started the kettle in the kitchen, snagged a box of tissues, and the nicest fuzzy blanket they had in the closet. “Hey, I’m here.” he hushed, placing the blanket over them. “Peppermint tea is on in the kitchen. It should be done in a few.” He returned to kneeling at their side, brushing their hair out of their face. “How about we order a pizza for dinner, huh? I know it’s your favorite.” Y/N meekly glanced at him. “Maybe that will make you feel a little better?” For the first time in hours, Y/N gave him a faint smile. “You’re too good to me.” “I’m just as good to you as you are to me,” he hushed, kissing their forehead. “I'll place the order right now. Then maybe we can watch a movie?” Y/N really scored the jackpot with him.
Barney: Barney couldn’t wait to get home. A nice drink, lunging on the couch in a warm robe, and watching whatever stupid show he could find on TV. He swung the door closed behind him, dropped everything he was holding, and sighed. Finally, peace and quiet. It didn’t last long. However, as he heard a muffled sob emerge from one of the rooms in his apartment. He raised a brow. He had told Y/N they were allowed to swing by whenever they wanted - he gave them an extra key, after all -  but he didn't expect them to be here now. They were normally exhausted after work too. “Y/N?” He called out. “I didn’t expect you to be here.” At first, he was calm. That was until he opened the door to the bathroom, spotting them curled up on the bathroom floor. Their knees were pulled into their chest, their hands clamped over their ears, and tears rolling down their face. Barney tensed immediately. “Woah woah,” he said, kneeling on one knee to check on them. “What’s going on?” Y/N just shook their heads, mortified. To hide their face, they curled it deeper into their knees, shielding their teary face. Barney frowned before standing, running to the kitchen for a glass of water and some crackers. “Here,” he said as he rushed back in. “You know you need to drink water and eat something small when this happens.” He knew their panic attacks well, and he knew what they needed whenever they began to approach. They accepted the glass and Barney stood up again. “You take your time. I’ll go start warming up some soup for you, then you get to pick what stupid TV show we’re gonna watch for the rest of the night.” Y/N said nothing, merely smiled up at him and took a shaky sip of water., “Thank you,” they whispered. Barney just smiled. “Anytime,”
