thinking about some more ways that things could have played out with the first yellowjackets card draw, and i think the only way that travis would have ended up dead there would be if javi drew the card. like, i still don't think that the wilderness would have Wanted That because that's the CONSORT he's for our QUEEN but he might have gone full Take Me Instead mode and been able to talk the others into it. while if travis drew the card he and nat would have reversed roles in the sequence and javi still would have died, no matter how long travis spent trying to fish his brother out of the freezing water before he drowned and floated close enough to them to be retrieved again

hc!lottie spoiling her gf <3
lottie matthews x fem!reader
summary: how i imagine you and lottie in a relationship with her spoiling you all the time
all characters are aged up and in college!!
warnings: pretty much just fluff, daddy issues if you squint, established relationship, characters are aged up, nsfw content (mdni), fingering and oral (lottie receiving)
Tumblr media
at first, the idea of letting lottie buy you stuff was absurd. yes she was your girlfriend but why would you let her spend her money on you?? didn't she have other things to spend with? (no)
it first started when you two had just started dating. on the very first day, she met you outside the uni so you could walk inside together and she had a small bag on her hands
you look up at her feeling embarassed cause you didn't buy her anything and didn't even know that you were supposed to
"dont worry baby, its just a little something that reminded me of you while i was going home yesterday!!" she has the cutest smile ever and kisses you on the cheek before giving you your gift
she didnt buy it while walking home. she has been looking desperately for it ever since you guys started to hang out as friends and paid a ridiculous amount of money for it
you open it up to find the collector's edition of one of your favorite books, little women. you know how expensive it was, you had been wanting that special edition book for ages ever since you first read it when you were thirteen
lottie was nervous while waiting for you to open with her arms practically glued to her body and rocking her body slowly from one side to another. then she sees the surprise and happiness expression on your face and immediately relaxes. shes smiling from ear to ear and looking at you like a puppy with shiny eyes, come on :((
lets be honest, lottie was not a popular girl like jackie!! everyone knew that her parents had money but that girl was just an awkward lesbian girl failure with daddy issues and didnt know any better than showing her love without buying things until you showed up
it was saturday and you two were just hanging out in the mall one day and she noticed how your eyes were sparkling while staring at a cute dress from a very expensive clothing brand. you were scared to even look at the price tag. you didnt say a word cause you knew that lottie would buy it for you in a blink of an eye but she noticed it
lottie would always pay attention to you and read you like a book, she knew you too well
"thats such a pretty dress, look y/n!" she says excitedly while dragging you by the hand into the store "i need to try it on!"
you sighed in relief knowing that it wasn't for you this time
you watch lottie try the dress in fitting room and you can feel yourself drooling at how stunning she looked (so real of you)
"you look so hot, lott..." you say and the next thing you remember is burying lottie's panties onto her mouth and pinning lottie against the mirror
she was very tall so it wasnt very hard for you to get on your knees and shove yourself right between her legs. you held her thighs by placing your arms under them and were eating her out like a starved woman
lottie's head would have gone through the other side of the glass if it was possible due to how hard she was leaning her head backwards. she had her hands tightened to your hair and the dirtiest and whiniest muffled sounds would come out of her mouth, especially when you inserted two fingers at once inside of her very easily
in less than five minutes you were wiping your mouth with your forearm while lottie was still recovering from her orgasm. her chest was rising as fast as it was falling down and her legs were so sensitive that she needed help to stand up for a few minutes
safe to say that shoving her own panties in her mouth wasn't a very safe option. the message was very clear when you left the fitting room and a bunch of mid aged women that looked like had enough money to buy an entire town were looking at you with death stares
surprisingly (or not), lottie ended up not buying the dress. you two would never come back to that store ever again!!!
the next day you wake up to find a package from that same fancy store on your front door with a note saying "sorry for not being there to see your beautiful smile, i had to buy it online :( hope you like the dress, angel."
and then you remembered that you and lottie had the same body type. oh she was smart.
god, you were already scared for her bank account when your birthday month comes up.

AITA for wanting to trade an OC as soon as I got it?
I (24M) occasionally participate in the world of OC adopts. for those who don't know, an adopt is a character design that you can buy from another person, in doing so it becomes your oc and the person who put up the adopt rescinds their right to use the design in the future. traditionally adopts are bought with real money, but it's also common to trade one OC for another. for adopts I use toyhou.se, a platform for oc sharing which has built in adoption tools, like the ability to add a TOS or list an OC as up for adoption
I put up an adopt on the about a year ago where it sat unadopted for around 6 months. one day I get a comment on the OC profile from D (20F). D says that the OC looks like her and that she loves the design, and offers to trade for an OC in her adopts folder.
I look through the folder and I don't find any OCs that I like, but I decide that since D likes my adopt so much that I would trade with her anyway. so I pick my favorite out of the characters she offered (Lottie) and we trade.
when I get Lottie I list her for adoption and put her in my adopts folder. a few months later D comments on Lotties profile asking "why do [I] want to trade her away so quickly...?" I explain to D that I always put unused characters up for adoption until I use them and that it's nothing personal. D says "I guess that makes sense...? 😅" and I assumed the matter was done.
the way that toyhouse works is that when you are the original creator of an OC you can set permissions on their profile, specifically you can say whether or not the OC can be resold (traded for money), retraded (traded for another oc), or regifted (given away for free). if any of the above are allowed for a character you can post an adoption listing. if none of them are allowed then you can't.
before D commented on Lotties profile, Lottie was set to allow retrades and regifts. after D commented, she disabled all of them meaning I was now stuck* with Lottie. on top of that, part of D's TOS was that you couldn't change her OCs designs so redesigning Lottie more to my taste wasn't an option either.**
AITA for trying to trade Lottie away so quickly after I got her?
* I could of course trade her off-site or delete her outright, but i think D's intention was to keep me saddled with Lottie.
** I think this is stupid and usually wouldn't listen to a rule banning me from redesigning an OC that I have exclusive ownership over. but toyhouse is somewhat toxic and D had already proven that she was checking in on her designs to make sure her rules were being followed (or to make new ones). D also has a blacklist which on toyhouse is essentially a public call-out post that lists everyone that a user has problems with. these blacklists often lead to harassment of people that are on it. all of this is to say, redesigning Lottie wasn't worth the trouble
What are these acronyms?

In defense of Charlotte as a mother
Quick disclaimer this post is not trying to undermine charlottegeorge's (we seriously need to come up with a better ship name) children's feelings towards their mother. Although we know very little about them, it's obvious their relationship with Charlotte isn't perfect, but if I'm being honest, I'm tired of this narrative that she was an awful mother. I 100% agree that she wasn't the best mother (tbh, none of the Bridgerton mothers are. That's what makes the show interesting), but people keep suggesting that she's Augusta-level bad, and that's just not true.
Firstly, everyone keeps forgetting that Lottie lost her parents when she was young, which suggests she didn't have a motherly presence for at least half her life. Secondly, she was eighteen when she had her first child. Eighteen and her strongest examples of motherhood were probably Agatha and Augusta (both, again, arguably not the most amazing mothers). Thirdly, she had fifteen kids. FIFTEEN!! Thirteen (twelve???) surviving, I'm not saying she didn't love them equally, but that's a lot of kids to get to know.
My main argument, however, is that Charlotte probably was not the best mother, and she probably did focus more on being queen and protecting George — which I would argue was also protecting her children. However, she is not Augutsa 2.0 (who, even though not the best mother did try).
Charlotte had twelve (thirteen, idk any more consistency is not this shows strength) surviving children, and it seemed that, for the most part, she let them do whatever they wanted. Unlike Augusta, who tried to control every aspect of George's life, she let her sons whore about (her words, not mine), and she clearly didn't meddle too much in her daughter's love lives. It's only until the very last minute that she inserts herself into their affairs.
At first, it was just her telling them to marry suitable people and produce an heir. She still allowed them to marry who they liked, just as long as they were from a specific pool. And if I'm being honest, that pool wasn't that small; they literally had all of Europe. One of them could have found someone if they had tried. But alas, they didn't which forced Charlotte's hand, leading to arranged marriages.
I think none of them really took her command of marriage seriously because none of them, outside of George probably, knows what responsibility is. Yes, we know that her daughters stayed because they couldn't bare to see their mother remain stuck in time. However, Charlotte did what Augusta couldn't. She didn't let the weight and responsibility of the crown break her children. To her, she was a good mother because she gave them freedom — freedom George never had — she let them have affairs and stay unmarried because she refused to put pressure on them the way Augusta and everyone else did on George.
Her children didn't crack under the crown's weight because she did. Charlotte had two choices: be the best queen or be the best mother. I think she chose the option that made the most sense to her. By being the best queen (George's queen), George had someone on his side, the kingdom had stability, AND her children got to live their lives.
Charlotte had so much responsibility from such a young age; is it really shocking that she couldn't juggle it all? Furthermore, people keep acting like she didn't love her kids, but she clearly did. She was very much pained when Elizabeth confessed her miscarriages, she was gentle with William when he admitted he was scared, and she was ecstatic when Edward announced Victoria's pregnancy. She didn't even care that they thought it would be a girl.
Overall, Charlotte is not a perfect mother, but none of the Bridgerton mothers are (not even Violet). All the mothers in this world are just women who tried their best. And as much as their best may not have been enough, it's all they had. Bridgerton does this brilliant thing, highlighting the toxic cycle that occurs when child-baring is a societal expectation, even in relationships made from love and children produced by autonomy. Charlotte's story is just another example.

THE HEART WANTS WHAT IT WANTS
S2 | Gary/MC | 2700+ words | @0shewrites0
Tumblr media
synopsis | Gary is genuinely happy with Maeve, but Lottie doesn't believe he is being honest. She is jealous of Maeve and angry that Gary ditched her for Maeve. Together with Hannah she thinks about how she can test him, or rather how she can make him regret that he ever coupled up with Maeve. She wants to remind him that she - Lottie - is the one he really wants.
prompt | rewriting Operation Nope @litgwritersroom
genre | fluff. non-canonical. rated T.
author’s note | I've never written for Gary before, so I wanted to challenge myself. I'm sorry in advance if I didn't capture his character properly, but I tried anyway. And it was fun to write him. I like fluff with Gary so much🤍
"UGH!" Lottie feigned retching and rolled her eyes.
Startled, Hannah looked up, following Lottie's gaze, and her eyes widened when she saw Gary and Maeve in the outdoors gym. Gary was doing push-ups while Maeve was underneath him. Each time he lowered himself to the ground, he pressed a kiss to her lips and then pushed himself back up.
Maeve giggled, her face flushed as she barely managed to look into his bright blue eyes that gazed down at her, and his lips twisted into a grin. Small beads of sweat formed on his forehead and chest, but he kept going, his muscles tensing, his strong arms braced on either side of Maeve’s shoulders.
Both Lottie and Hannah stared at them, bewildered - Lottie because she still couldn't believe that Gary had chosen Maeve over her, and twice, and Hannah because she couldn't for the life of her imagine lying under a guy, having to endure his panting, the sweat trickling down his face and onto her own, and getting sticky, sweaty kisses.
What was hot about it? Ew! She shuddered in disgust, averting her eyes and looking at Lottie instead. "That's disgusting, isn't it?"
"Mmm..." replied Lottie absentmindedly, her gaze still fixed on Gary, her eyelid twitching nervously as she clenched her teeth in annoyance.
"Lottie," Hannah tried again, putting her hand on Lottie's arm and squeezing it gently, "stop watching them. You'll feel miserable."
Lottie scoffed, "Oh, I'm miserable already, thank you very much." But she turned her back on them and turned her attention to Hannah, frowning and pouting. "I just don't understand why he would choose her over me. When we came in he didn't even notice her, he didn't step forward for her!"
Hannah clamped her mouth shut, knowing this was going to be one of those endless rants about how Lottie thought she was the perfect partner for Gary, and she decided to just listen and nod her head in agreement. There was no stopping her anyway.
"Are you even listening to me, Han?" Lottie suddenly snapped, glaring at Hannah with her emerald eyes.
The latter nodded quickly and forced a smile, "Of course I am. And I agree, I don't get it either."
For a moment Lottie watched her suspiciously, then waved her hand dismissively. "It's like I don't even exist anymore!" She turned back around, fixed her gaze on the gym and was annoyed to see Gary still doing push-ups and kissing Maeve. "What is it about her? I thought he liked opinionated women, someone who could talk back, but with her it's like she's the complete opposite. Always all sunny and happy, always trying to keep harmony and peace. It's so boring!"
"Maybe we should do something to get him interested in you again?" asked Hannah quietly, almost not daring to say anything because she didn't want to make Lottie any angrier than she already was.
"What did you just say?" Lottie jerked her head around to stare at her, and Hannah wasn't sure, but it seemed like her eyes were shining. Like she was feeling hopeful again.
"I don't know, but if you think he's just forgotten you, maybe get him to remember you. We could test him and find out if he really likes Maeve that much or if she's just the easier option."
"The easier option? What's that supposed to mean?" Lottie narrowed her eyes again and scowled at her.
Hannah swallowed quickly, "I just meant that with her, he doesn't really have to try to make it seem like they're a good couple because they're so boring. Nothing ever happens, they haven't even had a fight yet. And maybe he's taking advantage of her because he knows she'll secure him a place in the finals? He could be playing the game..."
Lottie scoffed sarcastically, "I highly doubt the guy is smart enough to do anything like that. I mean, he's a crane operator. Doesn't take much cognitive ability, does it?"
Hannah winced briefly, wondering why Lottie even wanted him so badly if she thought so poorly of him, but she quickly brushed the thought off. She's just angry...
"But," Lottie put one of her impeccably manicured black fingernails to her chin and tapped it thoughtfully, "you do have a point. Maybe I can make him regret ever coupling up with her."
"Do you have a plan?" inquired Hannah hesitantly.
"Not yet, but I'll come up with one!"
••••••••••••••••
Gary stepped out of the shower, feeling refreshed and full of energy after his workout, dried himself off and couldn't help smiling when he thought of the visual of Maeve lying underneath him, beaming at him with flushed cheeks. She was not his type at all, at least not on paper, but lately he was wondering if maybe he had been wrong about his type all along. After all, he was already thinking about what his nan would say if he brought her home. And he was bloody sure she would adore her.
Maeve was laid-back, easy-going, happy, and she always managed to put a smile on his face, too. He felt comfortable around her, he didn't worry so much about his physique, and he caught himself no longer wondering so often if she thought he was hot. Because the way she looked at him, her sparkling eyes that lit up whenever he entered a room or came into her field of vision, and her lips that twisted into a genuine smile - it made the butterflies in his stomach go crazy.
And the way she touched his body delicately when they were alone, the way she gently squeezed his biceps or brushed her fingers over his pecs as if he were a work of art -
Gary shook his head sharply and forced himself to stop daydreaming like that. He softened around her, he could feel it, and part of him liked it, but he couldn't lose his cool completely either. He couldn't let goosebumps cover his body just thinking about her. It wasn't like he was already in love with her, or was he?
He scoffed softly, concentrating on getting ready, then made his way downstairs. He was jogging through the large, open lobby when he saw Lottie lounging on one of the big couches, stretching her body luxuriously, almost like a cat, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he had just entered the same room. His eyes raked over her figure for the briefest of seconds, then he cleared his throat, "Well, hello there."
Lottie lifted her head, gave him one of her piercing looks that made him feel extremely uncomfortable - and not in the good, sexy way - and gave him a lopsided grin. "Just got out of the shower, huh?"
Gary just nodded wordlessly.
When she realised he wasn't going to say anything more, she rolled her eyes, and sat up, crossing her legs and resting her hands in her lap. "How's it going? Is Maeve everything you ever wanted?"
Gary raised an eyebrow and came over to the couch facing her, propping his forearms on the soft backrest. "Where did that come from?" he asked suspiciously.
Lottie grinned and clicked her tongue, "Just asking. Because it's still early days and all that, you know."
"Yeah, I guess so..." murmured Gary, not breaking eye contact. "You happy with Bobby then?"
She burst out laughing, throwing her head back dramatically and wiping the non-existent tears from her eyes. "What do you think? We're hardly the next great romance."
He nodded curtly, "Fair enough. Bobby's more of a mate, isn't he?"
"Yeah, literally. We get on well, but there's nothing more between us."
He sensed she was trying to get something out of him without having to ask him directly, but he wasn't going to make it that easy for her. He wasn't blind, he had noticed both her and Hannah staring at him when he had done one of his training sessions earlier where Maeve had joined him. He didn't know exactly what her problem was, but he was wary.
"All right, I'll just come out and say it," she finally relented, standing up and walking towards him. Gary remained silent, waiting for her to continue, grinning inwardly. There it is.
"Are you really happy with Maeve? I remember you telling me what your type was on paper, and it's definitely not her..." She scanned his face for a reaction, but he gave her none. It wasn't long before she was standing right next to him, putting a hand on his bicep and adding, "I just worry about you. You don't seem yourself."
He scoffed, but quickly disguised it as a cough and thought to himself, Yeah, right. You’re worried. Of course you are.
"Listen, Lottie..." he began, but she interrupted him. "I just want you to be happy, you know? And I want you to be honest with yourself. What does your heart tell you?"
He tilted his head, only now realising how terribly close her face was, her familiar sandalwood scent wafting around him, her piercing green eyes boring into his face, trying to read him. "What does my heart tell me?" he asked, trying hard not to grin smugly.
"Yes, like..." she placed the hand that had been resting on his arm seconds before directly over his heart, then continued, "Is it telling you to keep trying with her, or is it telling you to weigh your other options a bit? We're only ten days in, not even halfway through the month."
He thanked the heavens that his heart was beating normally, that she was unable to raise his heart rate even though she was so close and her whole being practically flooded all his senses. He would have thought it would be more tempting if she were practically begging him to take her back, but there was nothing.
Sure, she had been fun to be with, she was a good kisser, and aside from all the weird spiritual, esoteric stuff, she was cool. But he had never felt the spark with her. The butterflies. Not like he felt them with Maeve now.
"So what does your heart tell you?" he deflected, suppressing a chuckle when he realised he'd caught her off guard.
She pulled back and shrugged, "Well, there are definitely better options for me than Bobby."
"Yeah? Like who? Lucas, maybe?"
Lottie raised an eyebrow and huffed, "Please, not even if he was the only option. He's hot, of course. But apart from that, he's not my type. I'm here for love, you know? Not just for a summer fling."
Gary nodded solemnly, then added, "Does Bobby know you're grafting on me?"
She flinched, surprised by his sudden directness, and her cheeks flushed. She tilted her head to the side, her long blondish-pink hair covering the side of her face so he couldn't see her, then murmured, "Weren't you listening? It's not going anywhere. It's not like he'd mind."
"So you are grafting me," he stated dryly. "Why?"
When she didn't answer, he continued, "I'm happy with Maeve, alright? And I think my heart is telling me to keep pursuing her. I'm sorry things aren't working out between you and Bobby, but I'm here for love too." He pushed himself off the back of the couch and walked past her to the glass doors that led out onto the lawn. Hand on the handle, he turned to the side and added, "Also, jealousy doesn't suit you, Lottie."
With that, he stepped out into the bright sunshine, his eyes scanning the lawn and his heart skipping a beat when he spotted Maeve lying on one of the inflatables with her eyes closed, floating across the pool.
He headed towards her, but halfway there Hannah stepped in his way. "Gary, have you seen Lottie?" she asked, sounding oddly nervous.
"Yeah, she's inside," he gestured towards the villa with his thumb and was about to leave when she grabbed his arm and stepped close to him, whispering, "She really likes you, you know? I know she's not so good with feelings, but she misses you."
She nibbled her lower lip anxiously, the grip of her slender fingers felt too tight around his forearm, and for a brief moment he didn't know what to do. His eyes fell on Maeve, still dozing on the inflatable, and suddenly he couldn't get away from Hannah fast enough.
He put his hand on hers and gently but firmly loosened her grip, then replied in a lowered voice, "First off, she should have told me herself. Secondly, that's nice, but I don't miss her. I really like Maeve a lot. And since you're playing Cupid, will you tell her?"
Her eyes widened in shock and her mouth dropped open. Gary seized the moment and left her to it. Falling into a light jog, he approached the pool where he immediately dived in, the cool water engulfing his body.
Well, that was fucking weird, he thought to himself, wondering if he should talk to Maeve about it. He couldn't see her getting angry or upset, to be honest, but it was the right thing to do, wasn't it?
When he came back up, inhaling deeply and sweeping his wet hair out of his forehead, two curious brown eyes were staring at him, twinkling mysteriously, and there it was again - the rumbling in his stomach.
"Hi!" Maeve exclaimed, flashing him a toothy smile, the bright freckles on her nose and cheeks dancing and sparkling in the sun, and he returned the grin. "Hey, love. Alright?"
Her grin widened and she nodded, then tried to get off the inflatable and into the water. Gary chuckled and looped an arm around her waist, finishing the job for her. She giggled as he pulled her against him and her arms automatically wrapped around his neck. He leaned in and touched his lips to hers. A warm, comforting feeling spread throughout his body as she returned the kiss and he felt her lips move against his.
Eventually, he pulled back and decided to come right out and say it. "Love, I have to tell you something," he began and his heart beat faster when her nose wrinkled and she frowned.
"Okay?" she hummed, and there was no trace of worry or jealousy in her voice. It put him at ease almost instantly. He brought his palm to her face and brushed her cheek, then smiled reassuringly at her, "Nothing happened, but I thought you should know anyway." She just nodded, her warm eyes open and honest as she looked at him. "I think Lottie tried to come on to me."
She raised an eyebrow, and he noticed one corner of her mouth twitch slightly. But she said nothing, so he continued, "And I think she's jealous. Of you."
At that, her eyebrows shot up to her hairline and Gary couldn't suppress the chuckle that escaped his lips. "Of me?" she asked, and her voice sounded so full of disbelief and genuine surprise that once again he couldn't help thinking that she really was the perfect match for him. "Yes, love, of you."
She shook her head, crinkling her nose again, and pouted, seemingly thoughtful. "Oh, is it because you chose me over her? At the last recoupling?"
He chuckled again, "Yeah, and at the recoupling before that too."
"Oops," she giggled and her cheeks flushed again, a lovely rosy hue.
Gary closed the distance between them and kissed her on the nose as the butterflies rioted in his stomach.
"And what did you say to her?" she finally asked softly.
He shrugged nonchalantly, "I told her I liked you, not her."
The blush on her face deepened and she rolled her eyes playfully, but where her chest pressed against his, he could feel her heart beating harder at his words.
"You're not going to leave me hanging now, are you? Do you like me too?" he probed, a smile playing around his lips.
She smacked his arm and rolled her eyes again, "Of course I like you. I thought that was obvious."
He laughed, "Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page."
She nodded and smiled, "We definitely are."
Then she bit her lip and glanced down at his lips for a moment, but it was long enough for Gary to catch it and before she could lean in, he did and captured her lips in another deep, lingering kiss.
A tiny moan escaped her lips as he tightened his grip around her waist, and this time he didn't even try to stop the goosebumps that covered his whole body.
Maybe I am in love with her after all...

Remember that ask you sent me of Wheezy sending Greasy those texts if he left the Toon Patrol? I saw this video https://youtube.com/shorts/yruOJhfMrbk?si=IwMmYQqlGv5sJu2Z and couldn't help but think of Greasy 'quitting being a regular occurrence (and that's why it takes Wheezy a bit to get worried when Greasy storms out seemingly for good)
Greasy: ¡A la mierda esto! I quit!
Smartass: Oh? You're quittin', eh?!
Psycho: FINALLY!!!
Stupid: Are you quiet quitting like Poppy talked about?
Greasy, already tugging on his jacket and storming out the door: Oh no, this is loud quitting! You bastardos will never see me again!
Smartass: Oh fine! Great! Thanks for the notice, asshole!
Stupid: Wha?? No, boss! Don't let him leave!!! 🥺
Wheezy: Don't worry, Stu. He'll be back.
~some days later~
Greasy, walking back inside the TP house with the key he never threw away: Eey there, amigos. Another day at the office?
Smartass: *leaning back in his chair with a smug grin* Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged back.
Stupid: Greasy! :D
Psycho: =_=
Lottie: *nodding to Wheezy with a smirk* Told you.
Greasy: ?? Told him what??
Lottie: I betted double dessert for a week that you'd be back within 22 days.
Wheezy: *sigh* I had you at 23 days...
Smartass: A week!
Poppy: I uh... Thought you'd be back in three days.
Stupid: I hoped you came back in a few hours!
Psycho: Never would have been the best option...
Greasy: Que se jodan pendejos...
Shiny, lounging on the couch: Welcome to the hotel California~
Greasy: =_= Really, Chica?
Shiny: You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!~
(Everyone is so mean to Greasy. He deserves it XD)
🤣🤣🤣
He totally deserves it XD But I cant get over Stupid's wholesomeness, of my goodness!! He is just too sweet!! He wants his friend Greasy to stayyyy! 'I hoped you came back in a few hours!' Stu you are too precious, Greasy doesn't deserve you XD I need to see Greasy show Stu some appreciation for once!! Of course, Greasy probably thinks very lowly of Stupid but that doesn't mean he doesn't treat his silly dumb friend a little better then others when they're like this XD
~
Greasy: *sitting with silent rage in an armchair, glaring at everyone* =_= ... Stupid: *waives all-innocent at him when he catches Greasy's eye* 👋👋👋 Greasy: Oh, hola Stu. Greasy: *Immediately goes back to glaring at everyone else*
OR, ALTERNATIVELY, BAMF!S/O stands up for her Stu, interjecting before Greasy can insult everyone in Spanish like-
Greasy: *Deep breath* Greasy: You people are- BAMF!S/O: -Hey, remember, Stu wasn't apart of this. He somehow genuinely missed you, you slimy rodent. And I'll give you an amateur lobotomy if you don't acknowledge that. Keep that in mind going forward, huh?? Now go ahead. I'm waiting. Greasy: ... You people, except for Stupid, are-
(And Psycho's on the side going ):):): no amateur lobotomy??)

Hi! I haven't been able to emotionally prepare to watch the Yellowjackets s2 finale, but even without having seen it I'm having so many thoughts.
I struggle to articulate how I feel about Natalie dying. I can feel in my heart though a way I've felt before when I start to fall out of love with a story. When I have this idea of what this story is about but then it turns out it wasn't what I thought it was.
I'm not sure whether I personally can say with any kind of confidence the decision to kill Natalie is a bad writing choice because I think what's a bad choice depends on what you think the story is about.
I think where they've lost me is that I thought this was an ensemble character study of these surviving women and the question of whether they can every integrate back into society now that their wildness has been set free. They're maenads forced to come back to their domestic lives.
I may have had a more I guess feminist view on this show than maybe it ever intended to go there. I thought this was a show about these fierce, complicated women who were able to escape the social confines in the wilderness and while now they are physically safe, feel alienated and numb. And the challenge isn't so much a survival question as it is on where they fit into the world now. In the wilderness, they probably would've eaten each other until there was nothing left. In society, they feel purposeless, alienated and disconnected. So the challenge for the adults is how to reconcile these two points. How to not devolve into mad self-destruction but also how to give their wildness room to run.
Want to know what my ideal ending was? I was hoping for a bittersweet conclusion where the women resign themselves to never being able to fit into society again and they return to the wilderness BUT this time instead of Lottie leading them, it's Natalie. That's what I thought the white moose meant, an omen that was only shown to Natalie but one that was ignored in the teen timeline as Lottie took power. And as a Mistynat person as well what would be interesting about this is that it would mean Misty was the first true believer in Natalie as queen. Someone called Misty the personification of the wilderness so that would explain why, despite Lottie being queen, it is Nat who has Misty's ultimate devotion. So in the adult timeline their fates would be unknown but at least in a way they're free now and they've chosen their trauma bond with each other over 'safer', 'healthier' options that don't feel as real and meaningful. (Also would love if Callie joined them because they bring more maenads with them)
I'm sharing this with you because I've appreciated your thoughts because they've helped me process some of my feelings over this story that I love so much, but now I'm not sure how to feel about. And also I wondered if my take on this show resonates with you because the biggest thing this is doing my head in is that I feel like I've read this story completely wrong?? And it breaks my heart to think that I did.
Anyway I love your writing and your thoughts and sorry it was so long but just wanted to say I appreciate you in this fandom <3
Thank you so much for this message, and I completely agree with 100% of what you've said here. It absolutely resonates with me, and you've identified what my biggest problem is: where season two ended up is not the show I felt I was watching in season one. I had the exact same read on it that you did, and while we could both be projecting/overestimating how feminist it truly was, I felt like the building blocks were so firmly there. I guess I was drawn to both the potential of what it could be, and the fact that it truly seemed like it was going in that direction.
I love your ideal ending for the show, and I think - even if it wasn't what we would have gotten - based on season one, it was a believable direction for the show to go. After season two, it's impossible. And I feel the same way, wondering how I could have read this show so wrong. I really don't think we did, based on the first season. But I guess if we did, it's at least the two of us in this together!
I'm so so glad that what I've written about the episode has helped you process. Screaming about it was one of the only things that helped me, and I'm still upset days later, to be honest.
I think it just hurts to have to mourn both a great character and a great show; both the show and Natalie sparked something in me that I hadn't had for a long time, and I just feel defeated about it. I know what you mean about the feeling of falling out of love with a story. That's so what this is, and that Karyn Kusama interview really put the nail in the coffin for me that this is not the show I thought we were getting. And that I have no interest in watching women suffer until they die, without offering any kind of depth beyond that. I wanted dark and complex, but I didn't want completely hopeless.
Thank you for this message, and I appreciate you being in this fandom, too! I'm so glad we can at least feel this way together ❤️

trick or treat! mari yellowjackets pairing (jackiemari if you want specific but i don’t really mind) maybe? 👀
WRITER TRICK-OR-TREAT !!
DELETED SCENE // group interview, band au
It takes a few minutes for the room to settle back into anything resembling silence as Natalie struggles to keep the hula-hoop going. (She, so valiantly, refrains from flipping them off as they continue to giggle.) Mari can't help but eye the fishbowl of paper slips suspiciously. "Do I like, have to, or is passing an option?" The resulting jeers tell her all she needs to know; there's no getting out of this. With a sigh, she reaches forward and plucks the first white strip from the truth bowl.
WHO WAS YOUR BIGGEST HIGH SCHOOL CRUSH?
The blood rushes to her face. Oh, God. Talk about a shitty card to pull. "On second thought, I think I'm feeling a little more da-"
"Hey hey whoa whoa, you're got to answer the question, Flores!" Lottie darts forward to grab it from her hands, and Mari shifts to avoid her. Unfortunately, it's directly into Jackie, who plucks the paper from Mari's grasp.
"Who was your biggest high school crush? Oh, I know this one!" Jackie wiggles her eyebrows, lips curled into a mischievous grin as she feigns swooning and falls into Mari's lap. "Danny Mears! Oh, you were so down bad for him, MarMar. Which, just saying, you dodged a huge bullet. Heard he's like, dating his cousin or some shit."
"It's his second cousin. So it's like, technically legal." Mari manages to string together, in an attempt to soften the blow.
Tai snorts. "Wow, what a distinction. Still technically a total loser."
"Okay, he wasn't that bad—" Mari defends, but Jackie's laughter cuts her off.
"Oh God, remember his hair??"
Nat joins in from the sidelines, hula hoop clattering to the ground. "How could any of us forget??"
"Guys, give Mari a break!" Mari feels a modicum of relief as Lottie interjects, before breaking into a fanged smile. "She's never had the best taste. I mean remember—"
"He wasn't my crush." Mari blurts it out, before freezing.
"He wasn't?" Lottie echoes. She looks genuinely perplexed. The band as a whole does.
"Okay then, who was?"
"You can't say that and not elaborate."
Mari looks down, her face several shades of red. She mumbles her answer. "Jackie."
The hula hoop clatters to the ground as Nat gapes, Lottie and Tai mirroring the shell shocked expression. "You had a crush on me?" Jackie asks after a minute.
"I mean, yea, how could I not?" Mari laughs, awkward, as she rubs the back of her neck. "It was the first day of soccer try outs. You guys were helping Coach run everything and you partnered with me. You were like, like this superstar. And you told me I was really good. And after, my mom was running like really late. You could've left. I mean you must've had better things to do than sit with a stupid little freshman. But you sat down next to me and waited. I mean, you even gave me your fruit by the foot."
"They're your favorite." Jackie's expression softens, but stays unreadable.
Mari's shoulders lift into a shrug. "They weren't before that." The silence hangs for a few beats too long, feels a little too palpable, and Mari shoves the bowl at the Jackie. "Okay, I answered. Now pick up the pace. Nat's stuck losing a battle to an inanimate object until it circles back to her turn."
At the mention of Natalie's plight, Jackie's attention shifts. "Right, right. Besides, there's no use dwelling on things past."
Right. Things passed. Mari laughs, ignoring the ache in her chest as Jackie shoves her shoulder. So totally passed.

OK got around to new episodes finally so volume viii thoughts:
i guess starting with, has casa always been this long??? maybe I'm just bored this time around? Or it's just the amount of challenges and dates they've thrown in?? (it's the latter)
I tapped through the whole moangate thing as quickly as I could because it's so boring. I can't believe there are at least two separate times they ask you to pay gems if you want the tea on the topic and I simply couldn't care less. But like it also feels like the Brad and Christy stuff and then also the Rachel stuff and the OGs love triangle or whatever, and at least some of it gives you insight on the characters, but it never really comes up and there's enough in the main story to come up with your opinions on the characters imo.
Emel getting on my nerves again. Talked about this last time, it feels odd and I don't love having every woman that's not an LI be an enemy for MC and also stuck in a shitty couple, but not completely out of character given her personality I guess, so not the worse thing fusebox has done. However, I am slowly coming around on this because actually it does feel like such a thing on love island where you watch a character you like and slowly you get annoyed by them and they do weird shit that makes you mad but it's partly because they're forced to be around these people 24/7 with cameras watching and everything. Like that's the Stanford Prison Experiment part of Love Island, so like... I'll accept it 😂😂
Anyway so dates! My MC was with Shawn who I got kind of sick of during the date, which was so funny for me personally because his hobbies are like movies and cooking, which are my hobbies. He's also very chill and serious, which is also my personality. And he's from the U.S. So. Maybe he's too much like me irl I wasn't about it.
So the date was meh because I just kept having MC pick the non flirty options and she was kind of cold, but from what I see from everyone else, the date was pretty good and I'm glad. It is weird though that at the end of it, MC gets the option to say she's not interested, and Shawn keeps trying to save it. Like the islanders talk about their dates afterward and he says their date was great and can't wait to see where they'll go moving forward. And MC is just nonplussed when Emel starts gushing about him and he's uncomfortable, trying to stay on MC's radar, but my MC couldn't give a shit.
And I understand it's to make the branching easier, but I just keep thinking like,,, if only it was S2, because then it'd be like the Lottie going after Gary storyline. Like I can't remember fully, but in my head it plays out slightly differently whether MC is flirting with Gary or not. Either way, Lottie is a little upset at MC, but sometimes she has reason to be.
Date with CLAUDIA however, went very well. I was giggling to myself because like the conversation was very forward and cute and Claudia is thinking about them moving in together and stuff? Adorable. (Actually I can't remember if this was in this date or one of the other scenes, but the fact that there's so many scenes with the female LIs being so forward is great).
Also the Bea and Claudia tension?? Like I feel like we either get one female LI or the female LIs constantly swapping out once you pick one, so the fact that they're both fighting over MC is very cool. I love a good love triangle. And it does make me want to replay with a Bea route, because I think she's so cute too. Both her sprite and her personality, and she does feel like a different character from Claudia, versus Chloe vs Bella vs Flo that all kind of have similar plotlines and therefore have a similar shell of a personality.
Speaking of Bea appreciation: her outfits! So cute. I know she's a stylist, so of course, but honestly best dressed female islander.
Actually, all the casa guys and bombshells kinda eat up the OGs in the fashion department. (except maybe Tyler, but that's only because I don't remember what he wears.) Like, Luna and Oakley are probably best dressed OGs imo, but I also kind of don't like that they wear such dark clothing in a show that takes place in the SUMMER. Like it's an aesthetic, but also it's not that interesting (like compare their fits to Najuma's)
I've already talked about this, but once again, it does feel like we're fitting so many challenges and dates in one volume and we get no chance to rest. Like there should be more downtime to chat with the islanders, but they always need to get interrupted by a challenge text for some reason. Not to mention, Mr. and Mrs. is such an odd choice for a casa challenge? Like if you think about the show, casa challenges usually compete with the other villa and are more physical so that editing the episode can be less talking and more montages. And also then you get the comparison between how couples are acting apart from each other. (which, is also a thing missing from this volume.) So Mr. and Mrs. would be just edited as a lot of people talking and too many stories to follow.
On the bright side, I completely forgot what career I chose for my MC and I was trying to think about it for the last few episodes because I like to let that affect the personality/choices she's gonna make when I play the game. And as it turns out, my MC is a musician and that made me immediately think, oh she should've been more interested in Max, but for some reason I thought she was a lawyer. Doesn't matter now.
Also fun fact my MC likes r&b and so does Claudia so ya know, just soulmate things whatever 😁
So Liam's a dick, that's not new. But I will say, I like the way they presented his faults here. Because Dylan was so clearly a villain from the get go, and then Hamish is arrogant at first but then cartoonishly gross and awful within like two episodes, and everyone got upset about the Nicolas/Jonny 180s, so the bar was low. But Liam starts off arrogant, but confident he wants Bea, and he claims to be one of those people that just always tells it like it is as an excuse to be an asshole. And you really start to feel it here. Not only that, but he doesn't listen to Bea and I think it wouldn't work if Bea just accepted it but she doesn't take his shit. ("I have a nice voice too, you should listen to it some time." BEA OMG). Then later in the volume, there are game player accusations thrown out, and that makes perfect sense to me, he's just trying to tell her the right things so he can get in the villa.
Just to talk about Bea again, but like oh it hurts me so much when Bea is like "I have to couple with someone, why not Liam?" and that breaks my heart. I want to do the Bea route just to save her from Liam. And i know she's talking about the weird thing litg is doing again where they can't just let the single islanders be single, but in my head it's her just being like "no one else wants me" and settling for this dude 😭😭
I also don't understand how this game led to a date that Emel got to pick? (also the prize doesn't make a bunch of sense since we just got dates.) Like if she won with Max, you'd think she would just go on an extra date with Max or Max would also get to pick someone to go on a date with (and he'd pick MC because he's upset and I like to be messy but like maybe you could also reject and he'd pick Bea/Claudia).
i have so many thoughts this needs a part two (not so many thoughts as much as I don't know how to be concise 😅😂)

Chapter 6
Three weeks had gone by since then and now I was sitting on the couch in Scarlett's New York Apartment. Our flight had arrived around 5pm and now it was 7pm and I was sitting on the couch, after I was told to sit and wait while she made dinner. "Baby. Dinners ready, if you want you can come into the kitchen." I turned my head and saw Scarlett standing in the kitchen, her back to me. Her hair was pulled up in a bun and she was wearing a big, white sweater. I got up and walked towards the kitchen. "You need help?" I asked, looking around, trying to find something to do. "No, it's all good. Go sit down and wait. I thought maybe we could go shopping tomorrow. To get some stuff for your room and for the school." Scarlett suggested and I nodded. "Okay, but you really don't need to pay for me. I've got everything I have." I quickly said, giving her a short smile.
"Lottie. Your shoes are like two numbers to small, you don't have anything for your new school and almost new clothes. We need to get you some stuff." She answered quickly and I just shrugged, but she just smiled and put the pot with noodles onto the table, before she set the table with two plates and cutlery.
"What do you want to drink? We've got water or apple juice." "Uhm water please." She nodded and poured water into my glass. "I hope you like it." She smiled and we started to eat. Even though it was a simple dish it was nice and better than anything I would've had at home right now. "I was thinking we could watch a movie after dinner." I nodded a little, but didn't give her a specific answer. So she just sighed but nodded. "If you'd like, we could watch one of your old movies. You know one of those you played in as a kid." She asked and gave me a big smile. "Sure. If you'd like." She laughed out loud. "Most actors don't want to see their old movies." "Well I've never seen them apart from the premiere."  She looked surprised. "Really? We gotta see them. Which movie was it again. The last Mimzy and The legend of Longwood. Right?"  I nodded and continued to eat. Scarlett was dine and waited for me to finish. But I was slowly getting full. "I'm done." I mumbled and she nodded but I could see that she wasn't satisfied and wanted me to eat more. "Alright. I'll clean up. You go sit down and see if you find the movies on Netflix or something. " "Kay." I got up and sat back down on the couch, turning the TV on and scrolling through the Pay TV options till I found The Last Mimzy.
"Look what I found." Scarlett took a seat next to me and put down two small bowls with sweets. "Let's start." I leaned back as I watched the movie. Every now and then I started to laugh at the memories of filming the movie coming back. "Thanks for watching this movie with me."
"Come on let's get you to bed." She gave me a little smile while turning the TV off. I nodded and followed her up the stairs. "This is your room. Tomorrow we'll pick up some stuff you like, but if you need something tonight. Just tell me okay?" I nodded and gave her a short smile. "Thanks."She nodded and gave me a short hug, before she left the room. I opened my bag and pulled out my Pj's. The lamp in the bathroom flickered when I turned it but it illuminated the small room. I slipped on my Pjs and brushed my teeth before turning the light off and curling up under the blanket. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep, since I was absolutely exhausted.
The next thing I knew was Scarlett gently shaking me awake. "Good morning." I looked up at her before lifting my arm and putting my hand over my eyes, in hopes to block out the light. "Morning." I mumbled back. "Get up Lottie. We have a lot to do today." I sighed but sat up and started getting ready for the day. Scarlett was already waiting in the kitchen, fully dressed, wearing makeup, completely awake and most importantly she had finished preparing breakfast. "After we finished breakfast we'll go shopping. You need new clothes and some stuff for school and if you want things for your room." I just nodded while drinking the hot chocolate she had put down in front of me. She handed me a bowl of oatmeal and fruits.
"I think we should go there first."  She said about forty minutes later in the middle of a shopping center. I followed her gaze to the H&M and just nodded, not caring as long as we'd be home soon. "Do you like this?" She held up a dark blue sweater and I nodded, thankfully she wasn't showing me a dress. "Yeah that's nice." She sighed, but nodded. "Why don't you take a look for  yourself and pick some stuff you like? When you come back I'd like to see five things that you'd like to wear, okay?" "Okay." I started to walk around the store and look at the clothes just to come back with three sweaters, two black with a white print and one dark blue, and a checkered shirt. She nodded and started to pull out stuff in exactly my style, almost every thing she showed me I liked.
"Okay now shoes and school things." The blonde said as she pulled me to the register and paid, making me feel bad. "I'll pay you back." I promised but she just shook her head. "You're officially my daughter, stop thinking about it." I nodded, but was still biting on my lip. "Now let's go there." I followed her into a stationary store, where apart from dozens of pencils I also had to choose notepads. "You'll need them once you go back to school." Because apparently I'd start a new school here in New York in a few days. A new school with new teachers and new students. I had tried to persuade Scarlett to teach me at home but she was against it. 'You need friends your age'. Was her argument and afterwards she ended the discussion.
By now we were back in the apartment, where I was laying on my bed trying to sleep. Tomorrow we'd decorate my room and since we had been out for most of the day Scarlett had sent me to bed early, but I couldn't sleep. Restless I turned from side to side, trying to relax, counting sheep, but nothing helped. After a whole while of restless moving I got up to get me something to drink. "Lottie why are you still awake?" Apparently Scarlett was also awake, since she was sitting at the table, looking through some files. "Can't sleep." I mumbled, pouring myself a glass of water. "Why not?" She had closed the files and gave me her whole attention. I started to drink my water to get a second to gather my thoughts, but in the end I just shrugged and put the glass into the sink. "Come I'll get you back to bed." She gently pulled me with my hand back into my room, where she got into bed next to me and started to stroke through my hair. "Close your eyes baby." She whispered and her fingers were lightly scratching over my scalp, my head was laying close to her chest, so I could hear her heart beat slow and calm. Lulling me to sleep. "Good night." I heard and felt her lips onto my forehead and fell asleep.
*Scarletts P.o.V.*
I watched the sleeping child in my arms. Her hair was open and framed her calm face. Her breath was calm and I felt her whole body relax. While watching her I remembered the file I had read just before. It was a recommendation from her social worker to take her to a psychologist, before the trial would start, because she had to give her statement and we were worried she wouldn't be able to give it, without breaking down. I already knew she'd hate it, but it would probably help her. Maybe she'd sleep better and feel less scared to do something wrong.

Plot Twist: Do a power move and ship Miguel with Chel to really stick it to Tulio! (Obviously this isn't a serious suggestion xD)
As for serious suggestions, I will admit, my brain isn't that creative for such stuff as well as being unsure what exactly you're looking for, I can't even explain any of my choices/suggestions lol.
For Girls I thought Lottie or Tiana from Princess and the Frog, Marina from Sinbad, Kida from Atlantis or Pcoahontas maybe?
As for guys I could only think of Milo from Atlantis or the Beast/Adam (After Quasi stole his girl)
For some strange reason I thought of either Nani or David from Lilo and the Stitch.
Now if you want smth more angsty or "toxic" for interesting dynamics, maybe Gaston or Eris from Sinbad...?
I also thought maybe Thomas from Pocahontas, but then remembered you made him Lina's brother in your Hollina AUs, but at the same time it'd be kinda funny for both Lina and Thomas falling for the fun-loving outgoing blondes.
And last one I kept thinking of Eric but we already had Sinric, but then again... they all got two hands so who knows.
Again idk enough movies or series probably to fit for Non Disney stuff and especially in the guys department I seem to be lacking ideas for, but I just pondered as a fellow Miguel fan. I always felt like an outlier.
Chel
I know you're joking, but honestly, I agree with the energy lolol xD
I know I'm gonna break some hearts here, but I REALLY don't like Lottie... x'D I get what they were going for, and I do think they accomplished that so I appreciate her in an objective fashion... but me personally? She just annoys me so much xD
Tiana and Naveen make me so sad cause their human designs were SO GOOD and then they're frogs most of the time - I almost wish their human designs had sucked so them being frogs wouldn't have felt like such a slap in the face Dx
I like that you said Chel wasn't a serious suggestion, but then suggest the other "native babes" like Kida and Pocahontas and I am ALL for Miguel getting the hot princess. If anyone deserves it, he does!
I like the idea of Pocahontas because with Miguel, rather than John Smith's initial dismissive and racist attitude, Miguel would (like we see in El Dorado) just run around and want to genuinely learn about her culture. He'd be so excited about literally everything and I could see Pocahontas falling head over heels with that. I think Pocahontas might be my favorite option so far!
My issue with Kida and Milo is the same I have for Hercules and Megara: their animation styles are a little bit too unique.
What I mean by this is that Atlantis' animation is very "sharp." The edges are SO square on, for example, their hands and I don't like when animation is too sharp or too soft - it gotta be just right!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hercules has a similar, but ALSO opposite problem. If you take a look at Megara's hand here, it legit looks like the back of her hand is swollen, as if she got stung by a bee and that entire area swelled up like this. But no, this is just the animation style. And it freaks me out xD I dislike the sharp edges in movies like Atlantis, but the opposite extreme isn't good either.
Tumblr media
These animation styles aren't so different from other (non)Disney styles that it takes me out of crossovers (like The Last Unicorn does, I will die on this hill, I hate that it's considered (non)Disney by majority of the crossover community xD) so I can definitely still ship characters from these movies. It's not that they are hard to work with, but that I'm just not a big fan off overly sharp or round character designs.
I've seen a few Miguel and Nani videos actually, and what is interesting is that in quite a few of them... Nani is toxic as hell xD Something you may have noticed about crossovers (and by you I mean anyone reading this) is that some characters are more often portrayed as the abuser in comparison to other characters, and what they all have in common is that they have a lot of scenes where they're angry - cause that can be used to represent abuse, toxicity or just being mean. Odette is also often used as the "abusive" character because she has so many scenes where she's angry - I think that's why Nani is used to portray that sort of character often in crossovers x'D
I can definitely see her fall for Miguel cause he and David are kinda similar? Good guys with good hearts, absolute himbos and loyal as hell. Which is kinda why I don't personally ship Miguel and David, there isn't quite enough contrast between them for me personally.
GASTON DESERVES NOTHING XD
Eris is a character I would edit with ALL THE TIME if it wasn't for her amazing, but pain in the ass hair xD
Thank you for all the suggestions! It gave a lot of food for thought, and it was fun to think about Miguel this much :D

lottie ramblings
what kills me is they probably did soften lottie to backtrack on villainizing the schizophrenic but i really wish there'd been a way to have her be a compelling antagonist without it going down that road. i don't feel like i know enough to comment on how they could've better done things, so maybe i'm making an ass of myself.
but... i feel disappointment on how they backtracked and disappointment on the driving antagonistic force being what seems to be more and more likely a declining mental illness rather than a misdiagnosis for the divine.
i'm in a mix of "it's mostly mental illness and trauma but there's probs a touch of supernatural" so i can't sit here and say "it's okay to do that because it's clearly just the wilderness speaking to her!!!!!" and if the showrunners want to continue the ambiguity then they Need to handle it carefully and accurately.
i just feel misled by how they ended the season 1 finale and i hate that for those of us who theorized based on what was being put down, we're now being mocked for that theorizing. there's a difference between spending so much time on the subreddit that you think kevyn tan was wilderness baby, and actually using the canon season 1 finale as a springboard for discussion for a show that is meant to be theorized about.
i suppose what i expected from lottie in season 2 was to have something against the other survivors, and i'm starting to think having the implied antagonist be another survivor altogether would have been better. however... the teen storyline wasn't really giving that as a possibility until further into season 2, so they would have needed to do a fair bit differently in s1 as well for that to work.
another option would be for more focus on the main season 1 adults being the "villains" and for lottie to be Right, to be a sympathetic antagonistic that forces them to face what they did to her and to each other. that would track more with the road teen lottie is going down--stepping down as leader because they're placing unjust blame on her shoulders. and we almost did get that....... but then they went and unmedicated her and made her incite a hunt as if she weren't against it in the teen timeline from what we have so far seen.
we did get the "we're why she's like this" line which i appreciate, because even though lottie did get violent it at least... somewhat shows that the actions of others encouraged her. it shows that they do make her worse.
but we also get her acceptance as a teen that the others can hear the wilderness now, so i struggle to believe they needed her to be an unmedicated mess to re-incorporate the wilderness into the adult timeline. the girlies def are more likely to recognize that and tai's fugue state as the wilderness than... shauna butchering a rabbit or still seeing jackie, but i feel like there were other ways to have a story here.
adult lottie could've even been striving for some revenge plot WHILE fully medicated so it wouldn't be as much of a mental illness portrayal issue, depending on how much medication can reliably quiet those traits.
maybe if they were leaning more into the supernatural she could've been a more... in-control conduit for the wilderness as an adult without mental health being the concern, even tho i know that ruins a lot of the foundation for the show. i would've loved to see something with her thinking she'd been freer in her more primal state in the wilderness, unmedicated and unjudged to explain her scream upon rescue... but then again that could be harmful because of the "medication stifles your true self!1!1!" bullshit we already deal with in real life.
and part of me when it comes to queer rep (as a queer) does have a tiny "this is not a show for positive happy ending kinds of rep" voice in the back of my head. but because the whole focus here really is about mental illness vs. the supernatural in regards to violent barbaric cannibalistic hunting rituals... i have to urge some caution when the rest of the media landscape isn't much better with Scarier mental illnesses, esp in horror. i can't blame this specific show for that but i do feel like they have the option to do things better, even if i don't exactly know how that might be.

The Dark Knight Fanfic (Joker x OC) Part 2
Tumblr media
(ONE WEEK BEFORE)
It was a late night in one of the shadier parts of downtown Gotham. Lottie Wayne said goodbye to her friends at the "Thrills" strip club after her shift of pole dancing. Her audience had been mostly Sal Maroni's goons, with a few of the other regulars. Gothams world of crime fascinated her, and this was her main reason for sneaking out of her dorm every Tuesday and Friday night to work at the club. The other reasons were pure boredom and the adrenaline rush she got from watching everyone's eyes on her when she danced.
Stuffing her neon pink platform heels in her bag and putting on some white ballet flats, she made her way out the back door, walking down the familiar alleyways. Sure, it wasn't the safest thing for her to walk home alone, but Lottie didn't mind the risk. It gave her a chance to sort out her thoughts, and if need be, she kept a knife gripped in her hand (something she had become accustomed to using in a pinch). She knew all the best places to dispose of a body in downtown Gotham. Uptown (where Gotham University was) had less options. Everything was so clean and tidy up there. Lottie hated that.
Lottie turned a dimly lit corner, and stumbled, tripping over a crack in the pavement. She let out a yelp, falling forward onto her face. She groaned, trying to get up but slipping and falling again. "Shit." She said, feeling irritation rise up in her throat. Her lip was bleeding and she'd ripped a hole in her black leggings. 'I must've gotten too distracted thinking about the information I got out of Maroni's men. It's amazing what people feel comfortable telling strippers.' She thought, smiling then wincing as the pain in her mouth started to grow more apparent. She heard footsteps approaching from behind her, and the sound of something heavy being dragged on the ground. She sat up, flipping open her knife and turning around, scrambling to her feet. She squinted in the dark, but her eyes could only make out the tall figure of a man, who appeared to be dragging a body by the collar of its shirt behind him. The man didn't seem to see her, as he started humming softly.
'This is my chance. If I'm quiet enough I can get away...' Lottie thought, shivering. She stepped back carefully, turning from the man and making her way slowly along the alleyway's wall. 'Almost ther-'
"Going somewhere, uh, doll-face?" A nasally voice asked, alarmingly close behind her.
Lottie rolled her eyes, turning. "Look, mister. I don't have enough time to kill you, hide your body in the nearest ditch and get all the way back to my dorm at Gotham University. So if you'd kindly piss off, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, things won't end well for you." Lottie said.
The man took several steps closer. Lottie's eyes widened as the dim light illuminated the face of the infamous Joker himself. "That's a nice knife you've got there. I have a very similar one, uh, right here." He gracefully slipped a knife out of his inner coat pocket, flipping it open.
This man was not to be underestimated. Lottie took a step back, only to realize there was a wall behind her. The Joker pinned her up against the wall, holding the knife to her throat and licking his scarred lips in anticipation.
Lottie stared back at him, eyes alight with fascination. "Nice to finally meet you. Back at the club, Gambol told me you stole quite a bit from the mob banks. Or, am I mistaken?"
The Joker looked momentarily taken aback, but regained his intimidating composure quite quickly. "You're not wrong.." He laughed maniacally. "But what's a sweet girl like you doing hanging out with the mob? Are you by any chance, Maroni's squeeze?"
Lottie grimaced with disgust. "No, I'm out of his league." She writhed, trying to get free of the Joker's grip, very aware of how much the knife was pressing into her neck.
"You have a little fight in you. I like that." He growled. Then he did something completely unexpected. He released his grip on her and flipped his knife closed, stepping back.
Lottie furrowed her brow in confusion. Seeing this, the Joker grinned, clearly amused by her flustered expression. Lottie cleared her throat, stepping away from the wall, and approaching him.
"Don't push your luck, beautiful." The Joker said, caught off guard by her not making any attempt to run away.
"I'm not. I just think it would be rude for me not to give you my name, seeing as I know yours so well." Lottie said confidently.
     "You are a strange one."
"You can call me Lottie." She smiled, blushing a bit when she saw the way he was looking at her. "I'm a student at Gotham University, but I'm usually around this area on Tuesday and Thursday nights."
"Why are you telling me this? Aren't you scared of me?" The Joker said, returning her look of fascination.
"I have a feeling this won't be the last time I see you. At least," Lottie smirked, "I don't want it to be." And with that, she picked up her bag from the ground and left the alleyway. Behind her she could hear the Joker's wild laughter in the night.

I love Lucas already with a passion. However your thoughts, opinions, and fiction is making me crush even more!!
(first and foremost, your pfp ??? QUEEN! now onto the post lol )
"I love Lucas already with a passion"
i feel this part so badly. i don't think there was any other character that made my jaw drop as low as it did when i saw him for the first time. and thank you for the love, i really appreciate!
now... since i like torturing the stans, me included, let me give you a few more villa headcanons.
pairing: lucas x mc
🖤 he's the type that pats his thigh, indicating for her to sit on it.
🖤 sneaks in the room when she has her back to the door, snakes his arms around her waist and whispers "hi luv" in her ear, especially if she's distracted.
🖤 sometimes he gets absorbed in what she's saying, so much that he gazes at her tenderly without noticing.
🖤 pulls her inside the cupboard to have a kiss. and a makeout session. and possibly other things.
🖤 rolls his eyes when she teases him but can't help a chuckle.
🖤 drops by the bathroom in the morning to see her fixing her hair, watching her while leaning against the door frame with his arms folded.
🖤 tries his best but can't help tossing his head back when laughing at her jokes.
🖤 lazy afternoons on the daybeds, talking about the places he wants to take her to. "you'll never get over how beautiful gimpo is at this time of the year. you're gonna love it."
🖤 his heart was jumping out of his chest when he asked her to be his girlfriend.
🖤 when she asks "do you think your parents will like me?", he shrugs, "my parents don't like anyone. i doubt they like me... so yeah, probably." he says with a slick smile.
🖤 if she's close to a boy/girl he doesn't like, he was trying his best to get along with them for her. insert gary and lottie.
🖤 wakes her up with a little grazing of knuckles on her leg/arm, kissing her on her forehead.
🖤 if she refuses to get up he shakes his head. "do you want breakfast in bed?" to which she would nod her head under the covers and make him say "you know i can't speak duvet, right?"
🖤 he missed her during casa amor, to the point he actually talked to the boys about it, which he would never do, but his only support system wasn't there.
🖤 "you surprise me by how much you made me care about you in so little time."
🖤 "my hair looks like shit today." he says while growling at the pomade in his hands, sighing, "can you help me?"
🖤 if he had ever seen her in his shirt he would lose his shit.
🖤 because alcohol is not 24/7 available to them, i think he stress ate after stick or switch until he was coupled up with her again. even gary made fun of him and lucas threw a bag of crisps at him. "how is this for eating my feelings?"
🖤 held back while talking to her at the roof terrace. he had already regretted his decision but didn't know how to not sound proud while apologizing.
🖤 he almost went for a kiss after she saved him, but he was scared to be rejected in front of everyone.
🖤 cooking together was the perfect opportunity for him to apologize properly and tell her what he felt during casa amor. "i'm really thankful for being saved by you."
"well, your only other option was lottie, so..."
"even if it happened, i would've stayed and tried to win you back. i fucked up and i wanted another chance."
🖤 he's a great dancer but was nervous during the prom dance, afraid to look bad in front of her.
🖤 his (real) speech included a part saying how mistaken he was for switching, and how small he felt when he saw he was wrong. "more than anything... i have to say, i'm happy to have a second chance, because i wouldn't forgive myself if i had lost the opportunity of knowing you better. i fell in love with you knowing it was going to happen since the beginning."

Ranna in Middle-earth, 2022
I'm not much for new year resolutions, but perhaps I should make one to actually post more about my gaming in the brief moments that said gaming gets to flourish in between all the lesson planning. XD Anyway, at the end of 2022 I got back into LOTRO a bit, so how about a brief recap?
OK, right, this isn't going to be all that brief and there are going to be screenshots, so time for a read more! Click to read what I've been up to in LOTRO, including the introduction of this guy...
Tumblr media
In November, having seen someone's hobbit lore-master post and being thrilled to discover that was now an option, I made a hobbit Yolotli Itzli. :-D
Tumblr media
But she mostly wears her hood up to cover for the lack of braided hair options on hobbits... :-(
Tumblr media
Around that time, my main, Lennidhren (also a lore-master, but elven since I've been playing her since long before hobbits could pursue this most delightful of classes), has hit level cap and started exploring Gundabad! But then I thought maybe it'd be a good time for more alting until the level cap is raised again so the quests she's doing there could give her XP again...
Tumblr media
I've actually not leveled Lottie very far yet, but did switch over to Fjiola for a bit; she's in the 30s and now questing around Esteldin (but being photographed only in Bree, apparently)...
Tumblr media
HOWEVER while she was doing that I had a sudden urge to try the new Brawler class. So, continuing my efforts to make all the Itzlis as hobbits, I went with Violet's older (second-oldest) brother, Corbus, a.k.a. Audie's nemesis. :-D
Tumblr media
And it turns out Brawler is ridiculously fun to play, so I have basically spent all of winter break that I wasn't baking cookies or visiting family playing this fierce little dude.
Tumblr media
He has acquired a cat...
Tumblr media
And a matching title. :-D
Tumblr media
And a hobby...
Tumblr media
And so many pretty screenshots...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so many questionable fishing spots... :-D
Tumblr media
And now he's zooming around Moria!
Tumblr media
Brawler seems to involve rather a lot of one-shotting enemies on the first punch, sometimes even if they're several levels higher than him, so zooming is accurate. Especially when I'm used to playing a lore-master! XD

It’s CMA:)
I’m so nervous but let’s do this anyway:
How did Ben react to hearing that clover got rid of the geraniums(?) that she planted in the vase?
Damn not Lottie😭😭
Damn I wonder how Ben will react to hearing Josie offered to let clover run away with them, how teddy would react…
OMG a hint of fluff…….. they’re finally being sweet and honest, even over how their relationship started, both with others and with each other and themselves
Fuckkkkk they’re so cute……. They’re so sweet….. promising to spend the rest of their lives and even beyond that, admitting that neither of them want to end their marriage despite it being an option…… fuck……..
Sorry this isn’t as long as my normal ones. I’ve been feeling kind of out of it, but great chapter as always; absolutely fantastic, I love it
Hi my love! ❤️
Benedict doesn't know yet 😈 He was too distracted to notice the vase wasn't there, and Clover didn't tell him 😏
Lottie knows nowwww😏
Benedict would be devastated if he heard about that 😈
Fluff mixed with angst😁 It's a nice combination 😁
Exactly, like they have that option unlike any other couple in the ton and both of them are like "Nope, this life and beyond" 😏 They're so in love❤️
Omg darling thank you so much and please never apologize for it, I hope everything is alright???❤️❤️❤️
