Casey Jr was a trash baby! But Cass would stab anyone who called him that, and that's only because the turtles would let her have dibs, and that's only because they're mildly scared of her.

She heard crying from a dumpster and decided she needed to quiet whatever that was before any Krang heard it. And then she opened the dumpster lid and found a baby. This surprised her.

There was a note that said his name was Casey, which she found absolutely hilarious. It was less hilarious when she lost the note by the time she got back to the Resistance. Leonardo still lowkey thinks that there was no note and Cass just wanted to name the baby after herself.

Casey was seven years old when his mom died. He doesn't remember a lot of details about it and Leonardo's kind of glad about that because he remembers too much tbh. I posted a drabble about that here if you feel like angst.

I do have a lot of headcanons! Those're gonna go under the cut cause there's a lot. Also two about both Joneses - Cass had a cape that she used like a baby sling, and they had matching red eyeliner! (Casey liked having eyeliner like his mom's that was also the same colour as his dad's face stripes).

Casey Sr:

& Angelo: He had a cape and Cass thought that was cool and got her own cape (which later led to Casey Jr getting one of his own). Cass was not much of an art person but would hand him paint and brushes when he asked for them while painting murals.

& Leonardo: He was the one she trusted the most to look after Casey. They clashed a lot at first but eventually they got along. She loved teasing him and used to poke at him with the end of her hockey stick to bother him.

& Red: She used to hop on Red's back while Red was on all fours and yell ONWARD TO VICTORY! That was how they would charge into battle. They both enjoyed it immensely, and in general, Red would pick her up whenever she wanted.

& Tello: It took them the longest to warm up to each other and it involved a lot of biting on both sides. Ironically this was one of the things that endeared them to each other. They bothered each other incessantly and had the time of their lives doing it.

& April: April was the only one that Cass trusted to cut her hair. They also talked a lot about sports, very enthusiastically! Cass made a banner that said 'no boys allowed' and hung it over the door of whatever room they commandeered for girls' nights.

& Splinter: She called him 'rat bastard' when peeved and thought that was funny of her. Usually they got along though! He encouraged her and was her confidant, and she backed him up in arguments with the turts and brought him back snacks from all her supply runs.

Casey Jr:

& Angelo: Angelo used to do all kinds of magic tricks to amuse baby Casey, who especially loved the one that resembled fireflies. Casey never saw real fireflies himself but loved the concept of glowing bugs.

& Leonardo: There's pictures of Casey teething on Leonardo's sword pommel, and of Leonardo laughing so hard he cried. For as long as Jr can remember, Leonardo was right there every step of the way to love and protect him. He was also instrumental in guiding Casey through figuring out he was trans!

& Red: Casey had the time of his life with Red! A turtle that big is basically a walking jungle gym. Casey used to sneak onto the back of Red's shell and then stay there and hide while everyone looked for him. Red always made Casey feel safe, even during thunderstorms.

& Tello: Have you seen those bubble backpacks for cats? Tello made one to carry baby Casey around to protect him during transit. They were both kinda sad when Casey outgrew it. They also used Casey as a rubber duck when they ran into a coding problem! And they were each other's preferred cuddle buddy.

& April: Casey was fascinated by April's hairstyles and would sit and talk to her while she was getting her hair done. She cut his hair like she cut his mom's! She used to tickle him and give him piggyback rides and he'd giggle the whole time.

& Splinter: The stories he had about Japan absolutely fascinated Casey. Also they were the same size when Casey was young and Casey thought that was cool. That was the only grandparent he had, and he liked Splinter, but he also wished he was able to meet Cass's parents too (he does after the victory in the past/present timeline!).
