i didn’t quite execute how i envisioned this but that’s because im a coward and didn’t want to use my own voice. but anyway every time i come through this part of sots it feels so much like the end of a part 1 finale tv episode or something. like i always have “we will meet you there” and then cut to black / roll credits stuck in my head all the timeeeee god the vibes!! i love. also goddamn the whole adrenaline and terrified realisation of the trap. i eat it up each time. sots my beloved <3

Random 7 in the morning idea became an hour and a half to make an animatic for the influencer. I adore this concept so much that I couldn't help but make this

Of course, the influencer belongs to the amazingly talented @ask-the-rag-dolly, who's art is featured in this at the very end (Go follow them too their ask blog's genuinely really cool and interesting)

Even though I did lose motivation to make this longer, I still had fun with it! Hope you can like it too!

If you could extract animatics straight from your head into real life which one are you doing first?

Oh hmmmmmmm good question.

I guess the main one would be Zo's teenage years set to Enemy by Imagine Dragons (mostly because I have more exact ideas, and also visuals for most of it instead of just snippets for different bits and lines).

It would follow him being an edgy, hard-nosed loner with trust issues, who is also the perfect product of "the program," until--under Benn and Kathryn's influence--he starts to think "wait actually I might not want to be an assassin/child soldier." The program people reasonably respond with "no, absolutely not. die."

The "look out for yourself" bits at the beginning and the end are the "bookends" of him telling his angsty backstory (and reasons to not trust others) to Lyn.

Honorable mentions:

So I was tagged by @ultimaid to list 10 songs I’ve been listening to lately, and as you all know I cannot resist the siren song (lol) of talking about music, so here we go

1.

Tabun Kaze is so good I am currently listening to this on repeat because I’m pretty sure it will fix me, for real I cannot stress enough how fuckin awesome this song is please someone listen to it and agree with me. Also prime blorbo music I’m just saying.

Shin Takara Jima was my top song of 2022 and I only started listening to it in like, October if that’s any indication of how many times I looped it

Hot take the scramble is actually way better than the original and that’s saying something because the original p5 ost was bomb as hell

Seriously I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the making of this ost because it’s so good Jesus Christ

Could you do 35mm: a musical exhibition please? There's only 5 singers since it's a song cycle, but if you wanted more actors you could maybe do the names of the characters instead of singers (like Man 2 (i think) could be split into, off the top of my head: The Manny, The Sinner, The Cajun, Jules, and The Master)

Focus! It's the surely long-awaited Starkid dreamcast of 35mm: A Musical Exhibition! I'm sure nearly everybody who has come down to my neck of Tumblr knows 35mm (or at least seen a Sara Berry animatic), I only didn't do it for so long because I didn't realize for a good while that the singers actually had characters. I went with the five singers considering I generally keep things accurate to the original stagings, but I've included the names of the OG performers for people who didn't know what "Man 2" sings for example (and according to Concord Theatricals they also play roles of those names).

(P.S apologizes for the generally slow uploads (and especially this really late one) I've been swamped this week with Children of Eden having it's opening night followed by me getting sick, so next week I will get back on the saddle for you all!)

Ashley, now looking at the ground: Crap I just said friend twice…

Lucas: (smiling with a small blush)

Ashley, looking back at him: Okay…Lucas… the truth is…..(her blush is almost the same color as her eyes and she looks at him with a small smile) I just really love you and-

Before she could continue a few of the Assist Trophies burst into the room, all screaming and celebrating with streamers and balloons.

Ashley, now to Lucas on top of their yelling: Lucas, please don’t let this be weird!…Except I do love you and I had to say it so goodbye.

She pushes all the other Assist Trophies out while she’s leaving, while mumbling goodbye repeatedly. Lucas is left in the hall all alone when Joker walks up to him.

Joker: Well, it looks like you finally have a girlfriend. Good job, buddy. (pats Lucas on the head) ….Lucas?

Lucas, still blushing intensely: Lucas.exe has stopped working.

In the Assist Trophy Apartment, Ashley was standing behind Lyn with her still blushing cheeks puffed in anger. Lyn was glaring at the Assist Trophies who interrupted Ashley, who all had large bandages on the parts of the head Lyn punched. 

Lyn: Next time, don’t interrupt someone when they’re pouring their heart out!

Ashley, sighing: Thanks Lyn…

Lyn: Now then…(turns to Ashley with a sly grin) When’s the wedding?

Ashley: (blushing more) Lyn!!
