Oh also before I forget, you probably did find my Twitter! I haven't really made any posts about it cause, tbh, I still have no idea what I want to post there, but I do indeed have a Twitter! Right now I've just really been dropping random cod thoughts and reposting a lot of artists content, but who knows maybe I'll start doing some Twitter exclusive stuff or thread fics or something (has no idea how thread fics work). I'm using this as an opportunity to just talk about whatever comes to mind and the first thing I wanna start with are like some alternate ideas I had for Roach's family before I landed on the Sanderson dynamic that I have now:

Roach from a military family

Imagine how fun it would be if Roach was raised in a military family, especially if they still had that overprotective aspect to them. Like baby boy who was raised around the military so he's been intimately familiar with it

Maybe he had some different talent and his family wanted him to go down a different path and not go military like them

He says fuck that and joins the military and fucks around and ends up joining taskforce 141

Extra funny points if his family don't realize that he's on a specialized taskforce cause he was so nervous about telling them and they find out in dramatic fashion

Maybe he drops in to save them on a mission or something like 🤭 the drama of it all I love it

Also side note but I was thinking so hard about the Sanderson boys (Johnathan and Eddie) and I can't draw so I have to snatch some Face Claims for them so this is what I think Roach's older brothers look like:

Johnathan is played by Lee Pace don't test me this man is tall and probably acts as his own security at his bar and also is a goofball and idk Lee Pace is perfect (this should not detract from me also thinking that Lee Pace is a perfect fc for König)

Eddie to me has to look something like Luke Norris idk I feel like he needs a softer and more like nervous/panicky energy than Johnathan and this man fits don't test me don't test me

Also for anyone who is wondering: No, I still don't have a face claim for my Roach. In my mind he changes so much I see so many different artists versions of Roach in my brain at all times so choosing an actor for him is so hard. I have...thoughts, but idk that anyone would enjoy the thoughts that I have so we'll pretend I don't have them.

Listen y'all know Southern Roach is my bias but also also also have been falling in love more and more with the idea of Russian Roach. He would be so funnn like he works with Nik beforehand maybe he was undercover with the ultranationalists. I also enjoy the idea of him cursing Shepherd and/or Makarov out in Russian I think it would be fun.

However Southern Roach rains supreme I was thinking so hard about a ghostroachsoap au recently based loosely on the song "Farmer's Daughter" by Rodney Atkins. (Y'all let me know if you want the full au its really just farm au cuteness)

Thinking so hard of Roach just being beloved in his small town as this Golden Child precious little dude then he goes off to the military and finally let's that feral side come out a little. Imagine how funny it would be for Ghost and Soap to go home with Roach and see their boyfriend pu on this innocent act and listen to people describe him as this perfect little guy when they know for a fact that Roach is like borderline feral two steps away from being considered a wild animal.

"He's such a good boy, would never hurt a fly."

Ghost and Soap who watched Roach tear a man's throat out with his teeth last week:

Also taking the opportunity to say that we as a community need to start acknowledging hoe canonically skilled Roach is with weapons! Like this is a boy who had both Price and Soap cursing because they couldn't get any kills because he was killing them to fast. This is a boy who beat Ghost (his luitenant) on a rifle test by a wide margin and on the test that ghost beat him he only fell behind four points.

Roach canonical has several extremely brutal takedown moves that he can do, including the pickaxes and the little fucking kick thing he does to the one guy before stabbing him. Also he's like straight up flipping his guns and doing tricks with them and shit in his weapons inspections, Soap talks about how good he is with C4 and shit.

Like I think people see the like spots where he got into trouble and nearly died in the campaign and take that to mean that he's like not as good as Ghost and Soap and needed their help a lot but like honest to God all of the trouble he gets in to is less because he fucked up and more because the world seems to have it out for him.

The roof breaking out from under him, the ice cracking on him, explosions happen to rock his ass just as soon as he hits an open field. Like someone was trying to kill this little fuck and two outta the three times they failed.

And like its not like Roach doesn't help himself during these situations. Like when he fell yeah he had Soap guiding him but he was the one having the run and slide and do all that shit like no amount of Soap's guiding could have made that easy for him.

Also this boy almost falls off a cliff but is able to get himself back on track enough that he not only finishes climbing the cliff but then does a whole ass stealth mission basically invading a Russian military base on his own???

Roach is a very talented and skilled bug and we should all be patting him on the head for how cool he is.

Also I think its absolutely funny cause In my mind he's smaller than Soap and Ghost both like height and build wise (not small, just smaller than those two behemoths) and so when the trio of them are together people like tend to underestimate him meanwhile Ghost and Soap are like "Uh, no, no you uh hey dude no" because they know that Roach will gladly fuck people up.

I also love the idea of Roach appearing out of nowhere like a fucking cryptid. There is no talking behind Roach's back or keeping secrets he is everywhere at once and will appear out of thin air. Ghost and Soap have to like fully leave base if they want to plan a surprise for him and even then both of them have no trust that Roach won't somehow pop into existence next to them waahahhahaha

That was kind of ironic coming from your co-worker giving the fact that you were a photographer for FC Barcelona and that was your job: taking pictures of the players. "Actually that's what I'm going to do" you said, snapping some in the mean time of a certain player that always caught your eye: Pedro Gonzales. He looked adorable with that red tint on his cheeks after the game, and his smile when his teammates congratulated him for the 100th game in Barça's t-shirt and the winning goal he scored.

After the game ended and Pedri received his t-shirt, your co-worker, Luigi, was asked to take some pictures in the changing rooms because some of the players were looking indecent. You rolled you eyes, but waited until almost everyone was out so you could sneak in. You hoped Pedri wasn't indecent, but that wouldn't have been a problem. "Y/N? What are you doing here?" He asked confused. "Came to take some pictures with the man of the match" you said. "But Luigi—". "Shush. Pose for me" you said. "Alright" Pedri chuckled. "Perfecto" you whispered. "tú eres perfecto, no yo (you are perfect, not me)" he said. "I mean it, Y/N. You're so good in everything you do and you're so talented" he said when you opened your mouth to object. "Thanks Pedri. "Pedro tratando de conseguir su amor para ser su novia (Pedro trying to get his crush to be his girlfriend)" Ansu answered. You looked a bit confused when Pedri told them to fuck off. "Sorry about that" he chuckled nervously. "It's okay... I need to finish editing these photos anyway" you said, closing your laptop and hurrying down the hall to your office. That was kinda ironic given the fact that his house was 10 times your apartment, but you didn't care about that now. You were too close to Pedri to even think about something straight. You sometimes looked at him, he was so fucking handsome, his brown eyes and his plump lips. "Hey... you okay?" He asked, his thumb brushing your cheek. "You drifted off" he clarified when you looked at him confused. "I think I'm tired. I should go" you said. "It's late. Why don't you stay here? I have a lot of spare bedrooms. And I can drive you to work in the morning" he suggested. "I don't know...". "Please?" He gave you the puppy eyes. "Okay... but tomorrow we have to stop at mine to get my camera" you said. "dile que se ve hermosa (tell her she's beautiful)" Gavi whispered to his friend. "Y/n, you look beautiful" Pedri said. "Thanks. You look good too. Both of you" you said blushing. "ella se sonrojó (she blushed)" Gavi said. "estás viendo estrellas (you're seeing starts, Pablo)" Pedri argued with him. "Shush you two" Ferran said as the ceremony was about to start.

"And the prize for the best photo of the season... first let's see it"

"And the best photographer, all go to Y/N Y/l/n". Everyone started applauding as Luigi helped you on the stage. You claimed your award and luckily didn't have to say anything because you surely couldn't do it.

After the gala ended, it was a little after party, so you all went there. "May I have a dance with the winner?" Pedri asked, snapping you out of your daydreaming. "Sure. There you go" Luigi shoved you into him. "Congrats. I told you you're the best photographer" he smiled down at you. "I wouldn't have won it if it weren't for the person I photographed in the first place" you said. "Now, don't tell me you won because of me" he laughed. "No, but your charm helped" you shrugged. "You think I'm charming?" He smirked. "Umm... yeah" you blushed looking down at your shoes. "Y/n... I really like you" he whispered. "More than a friend" he added quickly. "Pedro—". "No, it's okay, it's your perfect night and I ruined it" he panicked. "Pedro, just listen to me" you chuckled, cupping his face into your hands. "I really like you too...and you could make this the best night of my life if you would just kiss me". He blinked twice before he registered what you just said. So, with your permission, he pressed his lips softly to yours, wrapping his arms around you in the meantime. "Te quiero, Y/n" he whispered.

"Finally!"

"Took you long enough" His teammates patted his back. "Now I won't have to listen to him saying how beautiful you look every day" Pablo whispered to you. "We were dancing here" Pedri said. "Mhm. More like making out" Pablo said. You blushed, hiding your face into Pedri's chest as he swung your bodies to the music.

You knew how hard Ben took sustaining a new injury so close to the World Cup. Everyone, and most of all Ben himself, knew there was no way he would be healed in time to make the England squad anymore. Thus, effectively crushing his dreams of going to the World Cup for his country.

Yesterday, a scan revealed Ben had done significant damage to his hamstring, and should keep complete rest for at least the coming week.

"Babe..." You sighed as you saw Ben limping painfully through the house for the dozenth time today. "I can't do this." Ben sadly shook his head, close to tears. "I'm going crazy! I need to go out, I need to do something else than watch TV all day. All they're ever talking about right now is the World Cup anyway, like they're rubbing my face in it that I won't be going there!" He winced loudly when, in his desperation, a too fast movement angered his injured hamstring.

It hurt you to see Ben like this. You wished nothing more for him than to be healthy and feel happy again, but the only way to get that was if he kept complete rest and gave the injury time to heal.

"Oh, sweetie..." You wrapped your arms around him, careful not to disturb his wobbly balance on his injured leg. "I'm sorry to say, but you're not going anywhere. Go back to bed, we'll figure something out to kill the time." Ben mumbled something incomprehensibly under his breath, but finally nodded his head.

Some ten minutes later you stepped into your bedroom. Ben sat in bed, looking lost and sad.

"I've got something to keep us busy for a while." You grinned as you held up a box with the board game Monopoly. A slow smile crept up on Ben's face. "You know I always win at that, right?" You chuckled teasingly. "Prove it."

Ben's whole demeanor changed at the foresight of spending the afternoon playing Monopoly with you, and suddenly you saw a glimpse again of the happy, bubbly man you knew so well and loved. This new injury wasn't easy on him, but you were sure that you would get through this together. Just like you had done before, and just like you would do again this time.

Colin, Dani and Zoreaux had gone to Wales, Mexico and Canada, respectfully, after they losing in the group stage of the World Cup. Bumbercatch had followed to Switzerland after their loss the week before. At least Roy assumed he was in Switzerland. With Bumbercatch, you were never quite sure, and Roy knew better than to ask.

Maybe he should apologise for his play in the match, too, which had no doubt suffered from the guilt the Welshman felt as soon as the words left his lips on the bus. The guilt that had wrapped around Colin’s spine since then, growing like a tumour. Just as Colin decides to change seats and apologise to his teammate, Dani deposits himself in the empty seat next to Jamie.

LOTS of Dads, but I offer you a snippet you basically wrote from all you can take with you is that which you’ve given away aka Roy Kent’s A Wonderful Life from after Roy spots Jamie for the first time:

Back to Colin for mean:

Jamie resembled a kicked puppy after Colin’s comment. Calling someone a dog was a term that Colin thought received a bad rap unfairly. Dogs were loyal, friendly and fucking adorable. Jamie might not be the fittest on the team, in Colin’s opinion, but the grown-out walnut mist and the smile Jamie wears more often than not lately, certainly qualify under the adorable category. And the only time Jamie’s not friendly recently is if he’s given the prick signal. Okay, he could still be a prick, but it was no longer in a mean-spirted way, more in a funny, sarcastic way.

And bad:

“It’s not like he’s ever laid a hand on me. I’ve never been afraid of him. Sometimes, I’d just rather not talk to him. Like now.”

“Colin, how does the stuff he says make you feel? I know you say it’s not a big deal. But does it make you feel good when he acts like that to you?”

I started playing like JUST a little before Shadowbringers officially released I’m pretty sure! I remember I was sprinting through the story to catch up so I could run the last Nier Raid with the FC my friends were all in when it released at like 5 am or something nuts xndjfjrfkrks …. And still somehow found time to get told “being a dragoon for Heavensward is rly rewarding actually you should level Dragoon” (and then I DID. Cried and screamed the whole time got it to 50 and hated the class for a YEAR….. I’ve come around again though it’s a fun class but Man The burnout was intense XD do not power level things you want to enjoy from 1-50)

And I kinda regret sprinting as hard as I did through ARR! I make SO many alts because I’m trying to recapture all the emotions and experiences I missed the first time while trying to catch up to everybody and being told “ARR is the worst part” (it isn’t, don’t listen to the haters, listen to me. Go in with open eyes and a willingness to be obsessed with your Character and immerse yourself in the story you’ll have a better time. Stop looking ahead to level 100 and look to your left and right. Just, general Savage varieties of the raids we already have but ESPECIALLY the ARR ones because I think it would be fun. Also to maybe please add the Bahamut raids to the normal roulettes??? It’s a cool story/series and it gets missed because it’s kinda hard to get done normally since it’s not in the roulettes and you gotta either Unsync it or Party Finder for it….

Oh or maybe just an update to the Hall of The Novice Tutorial thing, last time I did it it felt kinda out of date with some of the changes implemented and the way players tend to play 🤔 …. 🫣 this is another brick wall but you must understand; I’m very normal about FFXIV.

my honest opinion (which no one asked for but i just want to let it out here bcs I can write more and janfan twitter is in shambles) on what happen recently regarding peponi announcement on fancafe -

for international fans who are unaware, JJ posted on fc that after their concert, for the 2nd half of the year, jnb will no longer perform at uni festivals/festivals except for the ones that are announced before this. it also mentions that 'in the future' they will only focus on making music, album, and their solo concert.

where the rage begins -

he posted this 4 days before their concert which everyone was looking forward too.

the vague statement. some of the concerns from fans that I saw regarding this was - why are they no longer performing on festivals when they have been performing for the past 10 years and even released albums in between so why stop now? when will they be back because there was no specific date mentioned? is it a long hiatus?

I believe jnb fans range from young adults (students) to middle-aged adults. so their concern was if they stop performing at festivals, how are these students are going to see them? for students this might be the only way since most uni festivals are free and cheaper. also, festivals are where jnb gets exposed and gain new fans, so why are they deciding to stop performing at festivals?

fans starts expressing their opinions and disappointments (especially on twt), those who voice out their opinion - a fan on IG actually blocked by jnb official account - on fancafe they get kicked out. led to alot of kfans closing their accounts on twitter.

my honest opinion -

I agree, the timing is off. he shouldn't post this 4 days before their 10th anniversary concert. joykiller.

for me, the main problem here for the statement is both sides are in the wrong. poorly written leads to miscommunication and misinterpretations.

my understanding of the statement - the period they are going on a break after the concert to focus on the new album (since there are only 4 months and if they decided to release it this year) make sense that they will be super busy and won't be able to attend festivals and they already performed during peak festivals so by the end of the year I don't think there's much festivals compared to during summer. And 'in the future' I feel like by early next year, they are probably planning for Asia tour(Indonesia promoter/organizer tweeted before about jnb coming) so maybe that's why they won't be able to perform on festivals again since festivals usually begins first half of the year. If this is the case then I guess they should've worded it better in the statement (they probably couldn't be specific since they are still in the planning stage and anything can happen) but if its not, and Asia tour is not happening, then what I don't understand is why even bother telling fans about their future plans when its uncertain. They should have just go on with their day.

fans expressing their anger is valid, especially fans who had shown support by going to see them on festivals before, I understand their disappointment. but since two days ago, there were too many comments that I don't agree and have crossed the line.

exhibit A: This is all because of JH dating, please break up. he actually wanted to rest and get married and don't care about us anymore. using the merch money for his marriage. do you hear yourselves? this is nonsense. seems like you all are just taking this opportunity to vent out and blame him for dating. He is an adult, a 32 year old man, let him be in love ffs. And even if he wants to get married one day, what's the deal? we have nothing to do with whatever he's doing in his personal life. stop being delusional.

exhibit B: they've changed, they are no longer the 'jnb' I used to know. They haven't communicate with fans for a long time. and which part have they changed exactly? they have constantly post on IG story when they practice in the studio. They have constantly post live performance on youtube. didn't they go on live before during their europe trip? didn't they go on youtube live during their 10th anniversary? didn't JH also make a blog for fans to read? and JH also frequently went on live or post his singing sessions on IG. they just got really busy since the festivals started this year and they had to continue preparing for concert straight away while preparing the album. Also vlive is long gone, if you are expecting them to go on live of how they used to do it on vlive, please move on. the medium and access to do that is limited, and nowadays its a paid service(bubble,weverse) so I'm sure fans would be more fumable if jnb ever decides to do that. they can't satisfy everyone here.

exhibit C: DH is neglected. DH should form a one man band instead. I recommend you to click the link. Read and watch the interview & documentary and see why junghoon and dohyung is inseparable. (link 1, link 2, link 3, link 4, link 5)

there's so much more about the nasty comments but I will just stop here for now. If you crossed the line commenting and attacking on their personal life and brought up nothing that has to do with the real problem then I too would blocked you.

5. I actually don't mind if they want to take a break as long as they want to. we are humans. not robots.

6. Peponi should acknowledge what fans are complaining about, even if you disagree with them. communication goes both ways. fans need to know their boundaries and know how to give constructive criticism and peponi/jnb need to know how to accept them. When they keep their silence and pretend like nothing happens (blocking fans opinion/keeping only the good comments/updating IG story when the other side is in chaos), they are doing more damage to themselves. Hence fans are overthinking, overreacting, jumping into conclusions and decide to leave for good because too many times have this miscommunication happen. I'm sure they meant it in a good way and didn't expect this to happen when they announce the statement but again, the approach and execution is always the problem.

I've been a fan of jnb for 5 years now. when anything happen, I always try my best to stay calm to understand the situation and why they chose to do whatever they did. Because I know they work hard and have always give their best to give back to fans. But I have never felt as devastating as this. not even other issues before because jnb and janfans have always manage to get through whatever comes our way. and to me this is not that serious, not even a big deal at the first place and a bit silly which is why I was shocked seeing the reactions. But I guess this is what we have come to, everyone has their own limits and I respect their decisions, maybe someday I will reach my own too.

I've only really not talked about this openly because I know people don't like people posting about drama but if I'm getting anon hate over it fine then I'll just say my piece and be done with it

back when I first started up superlusters (side note: the "new52" came later when I moved it from sideblog to main blog), another person made a blog called "powerlusters;" my blog was all dc characters at that point so they made theirs all marvel

I did not know this person before this, but I went along with it for a while until their true colours started to show

I believe it was on that powerlusters (which briefly rebranded to partylusters) account that they posted a smut starter that used m.illie b.obby b.rown as a fc (mind you, this was around 7 years ago, and she is 20 years old currently), which got them mass reported and had their account terminated when others found that starter, I did not personally see this starter but a callout post made the rounds

they came back not too long later as schooloflust, I admittedly was too lenient on them and should've blocked them then and there but gave them a second chance

then there was the incident where they hopped into my messages (and at least one other person, who would publically call them out on it), wanting to do an rp wherein a spell was cast on their muse so everybody saw them as a child and they could not change out of childlike clothes (mind you, they intended for this to go sexual somehow!), and, at least with me, they really pushed for it and went "well what if we just did the clothes part" and didn't want to take no for an answer

seeing the other person call them out on this was what made me decide to finally block them

fast forward to when they remade schooloflust later on, and they followed me from the new account, and I swiftly blocked them again

they would still wind up on my timeline sometimes though so I can tell you they added a.ngourice r.ice as a fc soon after she turned 18 but used gifs basically exclusively from s.pider-man h.omecoming (she would've been 15 at the time of filming that), and added i.sabela m.erced as a fc like the week of her 18th birthday and again used old resources

at the same time as they ran schooloflust, they followed me from another account (I believe this was ofcherrybombs, but maybe with a c or x replacing a vowel there), no part of this blog looked similar to their other ones so I followed back and was immediately messaged about wanting to rp and was tagged in a starter before I even replied, this starter made me go "hey wait that feels familiar" and sure enough upon checking schooloflust the exact same starter was posted on there as an open starter, so I blocked again

fast forward a bit again and I'm followed by an account called tornvoid which again I come to realize is the same person (I believe it might have been ofvoid at first)

at this point I have become paranoid that any account that follows me might be them so admittedly I probably blocked some people that weren't them and most certainly stopped following people back nearly as often

fast forward to relatively recently, they have new blogs yet again and literally have muse ages listed as under 18 on their smut blog and post smut starters saying their muse is 16, so of course I have them blocked and reported them for trying to write sexual content about minors (which is not allowed on tumblr!) and upon vague posting about it the other day I can tell you one person popped into my private messages to say they were trying to pressure them into writing smut about 16 year olds

I have had this person blocked for ages, and yet I keep seeing them on my timeline though others, I'm done, if I see you interacting with them, you are getting blocked, I can't have this hanging over me any longer

I understand they keep making new blogs so it may not be the easiest to recognize them but I can tell you they pretty much always have an oc named brooke redmund portrayed by v.alorie c.urry on their blog so that should help you recognize them (not to mention that they like to have muses listed as 16 or 15-18 on their smut blog so that should hopefully earn a block anyways)

I only had two classes at the lv 89 bar for this dungeon, so I opted to run it as Red Mage rather than level up a tank as I usually prefer to use on a first run through a new dungeon. What can I say, I was too eager to get to the story.

oh do I!! ofc all of this is extremely subject to change but this is what my brain has been rotating for the past few hours;

his name is Jirokichi 'Mouse' Mullowney, named after nezumi kozō, a thief and folk hero whose full name was nakamura jirokichi, and john mullowney, an irish horse thief turned bounty hunter who hunted catholic priests. so that's fun.

Mouse is a famed and elusive bounty hunter — on of the most prolific bounty hunter in the east blue, who is mostly known for not being known at all. he only really does his business through a third party, in the dark, or in some other way that hides his identity. quiet and unseen, like a mouse in the dark. he's kind of a folk tale himself, in that way. people have no idea what he looks like, or even if he's a man or a woman, etc.

you'd think Mouse is really cool and competent, what with being a famed bounty hunter and all that. but no. really, he's just extremely lucky. ninety percent of his success comes from plain old luck and being in the right place at the right time. he's a happy-go-lucky guy who just so happens to be an extremely good tracker.

he meets the straw hats somewhere between shells town and syrup village. really, he meets Luffy who can't help but be too friendly and overshare (im thinking he might be sent by Garp to find Luffy but im not sure yet, but either way;) Mouse is like. hm. my kinda guy. he introduces himself as regular guy Jiro who ends up helping Luffy and the crew out of a messy situation, after which it is revealed that he is actually famous bounty hunter Mouse. Zoro, who has been lowkey obsessing over Mouse (for normal reasons!! he swears) kind of loses his mind because he thought Jiro was really annoying but that doesn't make sense because Mouse should be cool etc.

throughout the story they keep running into Mouse until he finally decides to join them full time by the end of season one, and all the while he and Zoro have a very silly push and pull dynamic where Mouse very openly flirts with Zoro and Zoro wants to die.

his fc is maybe kento yamazaki but I'm very open to suggestions (ethnicity doesn't matter. really just looking for someone with bambi eyes and a great smile) because it's Hard to find someone with resources that match one piece's vibe.

so i've had this recurring dream 3 times now so i guess its time to share.

I keep having this dream where Square Enixe (spelt like that) introduces a new QoL feature where you can bring one of the scions with out on adventures sorta like the Chocobo. They make comments but are functionally just themselves from the Trust function.

Anyway me being me I have Thancred tag along for a while but then he can't leave? he himself doesn't know why he can't leave and is stuck traveling with me.

the first dream its alright cause i go into a 4 man with 5 people and Thancred is a gunbreaker so theres 2 tanks. its great. someone makes a comment about not reporting the bug and Thancred is like "I wouldn't mind get out every now and then but if i can't leave the party what happens when you log out?" which freaks us out cause Thancred you're a video game character why are you reacting in real time??? he doesn't know. its weird. Since i'm a little worried about him I log out in the inn thinking if he is like in a instance nothing will happen to him. i wake up.

second time i have the dream all that happens and i log back in. Thancred is gone but his character model is in Ul'dah so i go grab him and he remembers everything, tells me when i logged out the system fixed itself and he left the party but he didn't go back to his spawn point so he went exploring. he comes with me to the gold saucer and to do some side quests. I guess i was new game plusing this cause I reexperienced the fisher quest line but Thancred was there and now hes in cut scenes. he has a lot to say. I wake up.

third dream Thancred asks how i slept and is being very cheeky about the fact that this is a reacuring dream and i've been having a hard time staying asleep. i woke up like 3 or 4 times last night and the dream just sorta paused. he wondered if he was the only one glitched like this so i checked the forum and nope! all the scions are glitched! a FC friend gets Y'shtola and we go into a dungeon together and its a 4 man that now has 6 people (two tanks, two healers, two DPS) and Y'shtola is very disapointed no one is reporting the glitch because she knows she isn't programmed this way. Thancred thinks its a nice change of pace and my FC friend is worried what will happen if they were become self aware enough to alter their own code to which Y'sthola just goes quiet, stops moving, and we think maybe shes lagging but no she just changed her class and is now a death knight. Thancred says I should probably wake up before things get ugly and I do.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever watched The Book of Life (if you haven’t you totally should, it’s on Disney+ and it’s really cool!), Diego Luna voices the main character in that movie and from what I can tell, he did at least some of his own singing. And he actually sounds pretty good, which brings me to the question: can Hector sing or play the guitar? Does he have any skills at either of those things??

I’ve discussed this only a little bit previously, but yes, I have seen Book of Life!! Jorge Gutierrez is one of my favorite artists/animators ever; I loved his series Maya and the Three (w/ Diego as a dorky vampire prince to boot), and I’ve been following him on various platforms for years. Hex is the only Morvant who I imagine sounding exactly like his fc with basically nothing changed (as I imagine before he moved back to Mexico fully with his mom, he went back and forth enough between there and Greymoon to keep his accent), whereas of course I’ve never heard Dani or Eva do a Southern/Louisiana accent before lol. (Now that I have Seth, his voice is also basically unchanged from Dast’s, just bc I think its so cute lmao)

I don’t remember if I’ve talked about Hex’s musicality here, outside of singing (I might have done so in my gc eons ago, but we’ll consider this an update). he can sing, but he’s generally pretty shy about it. he doesn’t like to in any public sense, and he only does so with you after you’ve been dating long enough that he feels fully comfortable doing so. even though he’s good, he sees it only as something to do for fun/goofing around. he doesn’t think of it as a talent so much as he does just part of being a human. his real art is always going to be his visual art, specifically his photography. that’s what he considers his main body of work, and the thing he feels he actively wants to pursue. but when it’s just y’all (or y’all and the twins, and maybe the twins’ partners), then singing is something he does when he’s relaxed and hanging out and living in the moment (or, at times when things are tense and it’s just the two of you, trying to get you to relax and maybe smile a little).

I can see him playing guitar very casually for the same reason — like, not enough to be a professional, but enough that he can competently play a few songs at a party or just hanging out when his eyes need a break from looking at his latest shoot. I imagine he picked it up during his brief stint in university at Mexico City (thinking everyone likes a cute boy who can play guitar at parties, if he wasn’t learning himself from a cute boy who played guitar at a party 👀) and ever since then has just noodled around with it ever since. He can play a few favorite songs of his (and of yours, although he’d want to keep it a surprise until he was sure he could do so without a hitch), but it’s kind of like Maxi and his tipsy piano-playing at 2 AM - nothing he’d really want to show off, purely something for his own enjoyment (and yours, potentially).

oh man.. it has been a minute

how time flies... Just a few years ago, I was dipping my toe into the water of social media with this blog and now fast forward a few years I’m coming back with a much deeper Twitter & TikTok following.

Well hopefully I can put some more information out there and help all those who are lost.  I’m going to tag team this with a youtube vlog and hopefully reach all who are looking for this information.

The three things I want to answer for you in each installment is:

1) What’s going on in the world of college football for college coaches right now?  Hopefully gives you an idea of what their day to day is like

2) What’s going on in my world? well because this is my blog and maybe my story can be helpful to others

3) What should you be doing right now?  Whether you’re a student-athlete, HS coach, or parent... just some quick tips on putting yourself in a great position to maximize the time

so to answer question 1 - we are knee deep in the offseason for coaches.  Signing day has passed, most early action deadlines have passed.  So for a lot of college football recruiting is done.  There are still a ton of places looking, but these are probably a handful of FCS & D2 programs, and a bunch of D3, NAIA, and JUCO.  Most coaches are on an abbreviated schedule, maybe they get into the office a little later than in-season, or they have a 3 day weekend, but this is the time of year they DIVE into cut ups.

They are watching every snap of their season.  They are studying other teams, usually a program or coordinator who’s done really well, and they are trying to figure out how they can get better for next season.  They are making changes to the playbook and prepping for spring ball, but recruiting is really on the back burner unless they are finishing their class later.  They may start looking at the class of ‘24 & ‘25, they’ll host Junior Days (that will be a separate entry, don’t get me started on Junior Days) but for the most part they are focused on spring and watching their current team develop throughout winter training.

What’s been going on in my life??? Well... that’s another story.  Last time I posted I was coaching at Ursinus College, D3 outside of Philadelphia.  Since then, I accepted a QC role at the University of Akron (probably where a lot of you first gave me a follow), from there I was fortunate to get a DC role at Whittier College.  When I first got to Whittier, I didn’t really know what I had gotten myself into.  The roster was really depleted.  27 guys on defense.  After injuries and Co-vid, we went into games with 15-16 healthy bodies.  It was tough to finish a game, let alone compete.  

Our staff did an AMAZING job recruiting, we brought in a class of around 50, no thanks to the administration (more on that later.)  But we hoped it gave us a chance to compete.  We improved but with about 13-15 first years playing on either side of the ball, we were still a few years away from really contending.  That’s when we had the rug pulled out from underneath us.  The administration decided to drop the football program, as well as Golf and Men’s LAX.  There’s a lot I could say about that whole experience because it was really crazy and you wouldn’t believe some of the things that transpired... but that’s another story for another time.  I was fortunate to be able to volunteer at UCLA in the recruiting department where I find myself now.  I am still looking for a full time opportunity but it’s been amazing to learn from and get to know all the great people in this organization.

What should you be doing right now?

If you’re a student-athlete, you have got to be crushing school... if you’re playing a winter sport, focus on that... but taking care of your business.  Junior Days are popping up, whether you’re invited or not.. can make them or not... is not a huge deal.  They are very general and usually have nothing to do with whether you are being recruited their or not.  So take care of business.. if you’re in the class of 23 - FIND A HOME... no d1′s are reaching out this late... find a home

24′s - start to reach out to programs.  Again if you read what coaches are doing right now, they aren’t going to be lighting the phones up yet... but they are building their boards for the future

25′s and younger - you probably won’t hear anything unless you’re the top 1% of HS players who are getting FBS offers.  Stay patient

Parents - be ready for Junior Days, again they aren’t the end all and be all.  But summer camps are coming up in a few months, there are a lot of them... everyone is going to want your money... We’ll talk more in future installments on how to get the most out of your summer camp circuit and hopefully get your son infront of the right people

HS Coaches - keep sending your lists out.  I think it’s really important to find college coaches and get to know them and what their program looks for.  At Whittier, we paid for a handful of services but almost every kid we recruited was from NCSA or Verified Athletics and in the state of California.  Because it fit our footprint, we weren’t going to get a random kid from South Carolina unless that kid was dead set on Southern California and he had money to spend.  In the same way, UCLA has access to such powerful recruiting services... they probably know about your kids already and if they don’t they probably aren’t going to be a fit at a P5 program.  When I was at Akron, we had some good recruiting services but we also relied on uncovering kids through coaches in our footprint.  So it runs the gambit, but educating yourself on your college coach connections will help build rapport with those programs

I know I always say that Basch is pretty married to his canon world and background, but... now I’m imagining Basch and Noah in Freya’s world, and I’m honestly here for it? Like... Take Landis and plop it into the world of Snow White / Winter’s War, and then have Freya conquer it when Basch and Noah are just boys. They start being trained as Huntsmen but maybe this time instead of Basch being the one to leave, Noah decides to leave. Maybe he doesn’t like Freya or he doesn’t see a future working for her. So Noah leaves and becomes part of Ravenna’s whole deal, maybe replacing Finn. Basch stays with Freya and replaces Eric (which is funny since I use CH as Basch’s live action FC anyway, haha). I’m just not sure why Basch would choose to stay with Freya. maybe he feels some kind of strange sense of loyalty to her? Maybe he senses some kind of fragility in her and feels hopeful that she’ll change someday? Or maybe he thinks that being forced to conquer other lands for her is a punishment for not being able to protect his parents and his own homeland? I can make this work, though, omg. But okay, like... is this a mutual thing between Thor and Basch, or does Thor only have a crush on him and hasn’t told him? Because I thought Thor was younger in this AU but I might be getting things mixed up. Not having actual threads I can refer back to and see what’s what really messes with my memory sometimes, haha. }

Freya couldn’t believe her ears, or maybe she just didn’t want to. “It is forbidden, because-!” she began, a rare instance in which she raised her voice, but she stopped short when Thor said she loved her... called her Mother again. Freya turned away, her back to Thor as she was stunned beyond words for a short while. She could not stay to Thor that she wished her to stop loving her, for that was not true. Likewise, she could not say that she loved Thor, even though that was true, because it broke the one law of her kingdom. A law punishable by death. But she could not impose that sentence upon Thor. Never.

But Thor didn’t stop there. She admitted to loving Basch, and the temperature of the room suddenly dropped another ten degrees. He was one of her best Huntsmen, if not the best. Freya had trusted him... but apparently she had been wrong. That explains it. I should have known that a man was behind her corruption. Men... are always the ruin of women. “It is... forbidden...” Freya started again, her voice now soft and gentle yet cold, “because it is dangerous. Love is a plague, a sickness which can take us all if we do not remain vigilant.” She turned to look at Thor, now fully in control of her emotions. “You must banish these thoughts of love, Thor. I’ll not tolerate them. I have done... too much for you to... see you ruin your life with love.”

With that, she spoke slowly and with icy precision. “Now... about Basch. What has he said to you? What has he done?” It was clear from her tone that she was furious with him already.
