Edit: 5/29/25. ok so apparently there are TWO if not more very popular ghostsoaproach fics out there called Something in the Orange (which, fair, because its a good song) I *believe* the LoTR reference is the one with two authors, although I love both fics dearly. I really was shit at actually annotating my own art. Might revist this sometime.

So uh... I know the two year for SiTO has passed, but I commissioned the lovely @miilkybnn for the piece which was, essentially, what I pictured for a book cover type thing for the story. Got it back today and it's just as gorgeous as I imagined.

Feels kinda full circle, coming from a fic that was inspired by Milky's art to now being friends with Milky and getting to commission this piece from them. I've met so many wonderful people through SiTO. Some of my best friends and the people who will listen to me rant about ocs or torture them in D&D. Some people who I don't talk much with anymore but still think of so fondly.

I know this probably seems so sappy over a fic I finished two years ago, but I genuinely don't know where I would be without it. I improved my writing style and skill. I did so much I never thought I would ever be able to do. Genuinely can't express how much this means to me.

Ghostsoaproach where Soap and Roach absolutely love to craft and tbejr house is a constant mess of pipe cleaners and felt and thread and popsicle sticks. Ghost is just along for the ride

soap who loses his hearing and gets medically discharged. without the military he doesn’t know what to do without the structure he’s had for so long. he doesn’t realize it at first but he becomes detached from life. without sound, he feels disconnected from everything. ghost realizes the moment something shifts in soap’s behavior and it isn’t hard to connect its because of soap’s hearing loss. he contacts an old friend of his, roach, who also lost his hearing to teach soap bsl. at first, soap outright refused. he didn’t want things to change. overtime though, roach and soap grew closer. with ghost still active duty, he was gone for months at a time. ghost couldn’t help but feel jealous, maybe even a little replaced.
