About 30% into Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage and the male main character - older brother's best friend, Luke Brooks - has already sported these two looks (down to the muscle tee and the backward baseball cap) so he's pretty much Rhett Abbott/Lew kthxbye.

I mean -

Complicated relationship with family, but a niece he adores? ✅ A man who only wants to be loved? ✅ Did I mention the muscle tees and backward cap? Yes, fine, so this is more Lew, but I never said my points made 100% sense. ✅

Okay, but this - this bit solidified it for me:

EDIT: um, so in the time since I first drafted this post…this morning before I left for work, I might add, I not only finished the book but have firmly decided that Lew should first play Charlie Lastra in Book Lovers and then play Luke. Okay? Okay.

Silverborn has been delayed again...

But only a month this time! According to Hachette, it will now be released on in Australia on September 25th, 2024. I don't know yet if the release dates for the US and UK will change as well, but I will keep an eye out for any updates.

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed this book. I was already a fan of Lindsey and her music. I watched her season of Dancing With the Stars and adored her partnership with Mark Ballas. So when I added this book to my TBR list I was ecstatic. I learned more than I thought about how Lindsey's success came to be.

I really enjoyed the fact that this book is written as if you are just sitting across from Lindsey having a conversation. It made the book easily digestible and interesting. This book is a light and fun read. Even when tackling the heavy topic that arise throughout her life they are done in a way that is not overwhelming.

I give this book 3.5 out of 5 apples. Memoirs can be dry but Lindsey does a really great job of keeping the reader engaged. I enjoyed the tone of this book but I also wasn't fighting to make time to sit and read so it took me a tad bit longer to get through then it probably should have. I would recommend this book to anyone that's a fan of Lindsey and her music. I'd also recommend to people who enjoy memoirs.

grabbed my copy of julius caesar to to read on the train to uni today and i only just realised it's got this slip inside of it with a list of people's names. because it's from an old boy's grammer school library from the 60s (next to the names is when they checked the book out and it goes from 1960-1964). so happy ides of march to them ig

comrade rose tyler..... travelling space and time with her IWW card checking in with workers of all types asking what are your pronouns, how are you being treated, have you ever considered organizing your workplace? i just know she hands out copies of kropotkin and marx everywhere she goes before she realizes they're too earth-centric so she puts together an interplanetary team and they rewrite the bread book to have more universal relevance. she goes down as one of the greatest union organizers and leftist theorists in history but because her direct influence spans tens of thousands of years, she's heavily mythologized as well. she becomes an icon. in heavily policed workplaces, asking someone if they know rose tyler is asking if they're union-friendly. union leaders begin to use flowers as secret codenames to protect their identities and families from retaliatory action. rose tyler physically does not exist in this universe anymore but her legacy is bigger than she'll ever know
