[ID: An edited panel from the webcomic Questionable Content. The character of Marigold Farmer is doing a booty dance, singing, 'Dale thinks I'm pretty, unf, he thinks I'm pretty'. The word 'Dale' has been edited out and replaced with 'Edgin'. A text box on Marigold's midriff labels her as 'Xenk'. /End ID]
I just read Chapter 4 of If not by faith by @moorishflower and this was all I could think about. With apologies to Jeph Jacques of Questionable Content 😆
(psst, go read the fic, it's AMAZING)

HeeeeeeEEEEEEEEeeeeeey :] it’s been a hot second but have some more Stardew art. Got into a creative funk and wanted to pull myself out with my personal projects, but this game’s also fun to draw about so giving it a try.
Primarily an Elliott piece with Earl Grey doing cat shenanigans. Bonus Farmer Wolfe and his little animal gang. (Cyrus[cat], Pyrocantha[chicken], Robert[dinosaur], and Marigold[duck])

The full Moon that happens nearest to the fall equinox (September 22nd or 23rd) always takes on the name “Harvest Moon.” Unlike other full Moons, this full Moon rises at nearly the same time—around sunset—for several evenings in a row, giving farmers several extra evenings of moonlight & allowing them to finish their harvests before the frosts of fall arrive.
• While September’s full Moon is usually known as the Harvest Moon, if October’s full Moon happens to occur closer to the equinox than September’s, it takes on the name “Harvest Moon” instead. In this case, September’s full Moon would be referred to as the Corn Moon.
This time of year—late summer into early fall—corresponds with the time of harvesting corn in much of the northern United States. For this reason, a number of Native American peoples traditionally used some variation of the name “Corn Moon” to refer to the Moon of either August or September.

The name Mabon comes from the Welsh/Brythonic God Mabon Ap Modron, who's name means "Divine/great Son", However, there is evidence that the name was adopted in the 1970s for the Autumn Equinox & has nothing to do with this celebration or this time of year.
• Though many cultures see the second harvest (after the first harvest Lughnasadh) & Equinox as a time for giving thanks before the name Mabon was given because this time of year is traditionally when farmers know how well their summer crops did & how well fed their animals have become. This determines whether you & your family would have enough food for the winter. That is why people used to give thanks around this time, thanks for their crops, animals & food
Some believe it celebrates the autumn equinox when Nature is preparing for the winter months. Night & day are of equal legth  & the God's energy & strength are nearly gone. The Goddess begins to mourn the loss she knows is coming, but knows he will return when he is reborn at Yule.

• Sukkot- Is a Torah-commanded holiday celebrated for seven days, beginning on the 15th day of the month of Tishrei. It is one of the Three Pilgrimage Festivals on which Israelites were commanded to make a pilgrimage to the Temple in Jerusalem. Originally a harvest festival celebrating the autumn harvest, Sukkot’s modern observance is characterized by festive meals in a sukkah, a temporary wood-covered hut, celebrating the Exodus from Egypt.
• Mid-Autumn festival- September 17th
Is also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival. It is a traditional festival celebrated in Chinese culture, similar holidays are celebrated by other cultures in East & Southeast Asia. It is one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture; its popularity is on par with that of Chinese New Year. The history of the Mid-Autumn Festival dates back over 3,000 years.  On this day, it is believed that the Moon is at its brightest and fullest size, coinciding with harvest time in the middle of Autumn.
During the festival, lanterns of all size and shapes – which symbolize beacons that light people's path to prosperity & good fortune – are carried & displayed. Mooncakes, a rich pastry typically filled with sweet-bean, egg yolk, meat or lotus-seed paste, are traditionally eaten during this festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival is based on the legend of Chang'e, the Moon goddess in Chinese mythology.
• Thanksgiving- This is a secular holiday which is similar to the cell of Mabon; A day to give thanks for the food & blessings of the previous year. The American Thanksgiving is the last Thursday of November while the Canadian Thanksgiving is celebrated in October
• The Oschophoria- Were a set of ancient Greek festival rites held in Athens during the month Pyanepsion (autumn) in honor of Dionysus. The festival may have had both agricultural and initiatory functions.
-Amidst much singing of special songs, two young men dressed in women's clothes would bear branches with grape-clusters attached from Dionysus to the sanctuary of Athena Skiras & a footrace followed in which select ephebes competed.
Ancient sources connect the festival and its rituals to the Athenian hero-king Theseus & specifically to his return from his Cretan adventure. According to that myth, the Cretan princess Ariadne, whom Theseus had abandoned on the island of Naxos while voyaging home, was rescued by an admiring Dionysus; thus the Oschophoria may have honored Ariadne as well. A section of the ancient calendar frieze incorporated into the Byzantine Panagia Gorgoepikoos church in Athens, corresponding to the month Pyanopsion (alternate spelling), has been identified as an illustration of this festival's procession.

The gardens of Astra Castle are unlike any you’ve seen before. Certainly, you’ve never been to a royal castle previously. Your father’s own hold is modest, still bearing the wooden foundation, whereas the rich lords have poured mortar and built in stone.
So, it is a great honour to be among the noble women chosen to serve the queen. Most unexpected. As a daughter of a lower house, it is rather unusual, but it comes with the newly set writ tabled at the end of the uprising. That is how your father tells it anyhow.
King Steven is as newly crowned as he is newlywed. After a lengthy revolt against the previous king, the land has settled, and upon his victory, the new ruler promises the expansion of prosperity to all. The very precedence of his war rested on the greed of the former court and its covetous lords.
To those who took up his mantle, he has made good his word. To the commoners, he has sent bread and ale, livestock and alms; to the nobles, he has granted titles and lands. You were of the same doubt as your father, however, you expected to be forgotten in the disarray.
Yet, you were not. You’re there with several other ladies. A set of blond twins borne of a duke and duchess, the sole heir of a widowed countess, and several earl’s daughters such as yourself. Unlike them, you do not wear satin or silk, not muslin either. You have only the dyed linen your mother attempted to enhance with some embroidery around the cuffs and collar.
“Marcia and Marigold,” the twins introduce themselves as you cluster together in the gardens, grooms and servants bustling around carriages and chests. “Lady Calliope,” they call out the countess’ daughter, “we met prior, yes? Your mother is near Estrela.”
“She is,” Calliope answers in her stern manner, herself seeming a widow in her black dress. The shimmery fabric makes up for its single tone.
“Ameri, Dorida, and... Selene,” they point to the other girls, themselves clothed in scarlet, rose, and azure respectively. “We know the earls, your fathers. They gathered at our father’s hold for the battle near Caffre.”
The twins take turns speak so that sometimes you cannot track whose lips are moving. It is even that they trade off in the middle of sentences. You find yourself almost as lost by their words as your new surroundings.
“And you...” The twins turn their jade eyes upon you. It is there you have found the only difference in them; they have the same heights, the same hair, the same gowns even, but there is a sliver of grey through Marcia’s green iris. “We haven’t figured who you are.”
“My father is an earl. In Woodsdam.”
“Woodsdam,” they echo in unison and share a look. They are perplexed.
“A minor house,” Calliope provides. “a farmer more than a noble, if I’m not mistaken.”
“We have vast lands and we tend to them, yes,” you assure. You expect their condescension. Your father warned you for it but he bid that you keep your chin up. The king has given him a mission of his own and so you will represent the family for the time. “We keep our people well and we fed the king’s troops when they marched."
“Mm, sounds very... common,” Marigold grins and her sister snorts into her hand.
“We know many lords like us, yes. They work hard amidst their vassals. It keeps the lands strong so that we may better serve the crown,” you return evenly.
Your mother helped you prepare. She coached you to keep your manners and your spine. The latter is much more difficult as you face these ladies and their bobbles with only a ribbon in your hair and a pair of patched gloves.
“Woodsdam? I think I rode through it once on the way to my grandfather’s summer castle,” Ameri tuts, “it was little more than a swamp.”
“It must’ve been the spring rains, perhaps, lady,” you offer.
“Summer house,” she enunciates, “one travels there in the summer.”
Your cheek twitches at her barbed retort. Very well. You are not used to their sharpness. Their chittering has thus far centered on gossip and the cost of their new caps.
“A wonder the pauper’s daughter received an invite. Are you certain you can read, lady?” Dorida snipes and looks to the twins for approval. You notice how they all tend to do so.
“It was sent to my father, Lord Eldon,” your voice quavers. You are not so strong as your mother bid you to be.
They cackle at your meek response, “the precious maiden of Woodsdam.”
You put your head down as the activity all around threatens to swallow you up. You wish the ground would rent and you would fall right through. All your excitement has dissipated to a sludge in your veins. You touch your cheek as you try not to show your embarrassment.
“The Lord of Woodsdam,” a deep voice startles you as boots approach from behind, “is that what I heard?”
You stiffen up as the ladies before you hush and blink, almost in tandem. They curtsey as their faces wash over in shock and you turn to face the newcomer. A man in a deep blue vest over black sleeves and grey breeches. He wears belt of gold and a circlet across his brow in a similar hue. It is that which betrays his statues.
You lower your eyes and mimic the other women, mortified to be faced with new king so informally. You would not think him wandering out in the yard. Still, he has vowed to be unlike the former leige. That he would be of the people.
“King Steven, your majesty,” the others titter in a messy chant and you murmur your own propriety as you back away. You find yourself still to the shoulder of the king as the other ladies give no room for you to join.
The vision of him stains your mind. He is tall, with dark blond tresses that extend past his neck, and blue eyes which put his own attire to shame. He has a jaw which looks etched in stone and a bearing which matches his rank. He is tall and broad and a finely built knight.
“It is an honour,” Marcia says most boldly.
“You may rise,” he allows in a breezy timbre. “I did hear my wife would receive new ladies. Young ladies.”
“Your majesty,” the murmur rolls across each lip.
“It is much needed. We have so many established ladies at court and yet we need to think of the future. Of the next generation,” he declares as he emphasizes his words with his large hand. You watch his garnet ring to keep from so brazenly looking him in the face.
“Certainly, your majesty,” Marcia and Marigold chime in unision.
“And don’t worry for there are many young lords as well,” the king laughs galely at the quip which makes the ladies, yourself included, blush. “Ah, then, Woodsdam I believe we were speaking of...”
You blink and glance at the other ladies. They are cowed, unsure if they were overheard in their derision. You hope as much as they that they were not. It is rather unflattering.
“My father, Lord Eldon,” you explain, “your majesty.”
“You? You are the young lady of Woodsdam I heard so much of.”
“You did? Er, your majesty,” you curtsey apologetically; unnecessarily.
“Certainly, I did. Your father was a great assistance in me holding counsel with the lower lords. He is very patient. “When not about his duty, he spoke of you oft. Though what matters are more important than family?”
“Yes, your majesty,” you can’t help a smile, “my father is a very kind man.”
“Kind and courageous. I’m certain you’ve inherited as much,” the king praises, “and these other ladies. The twins who belong to Mawsley, the Countess of Clovers daughter, and the three earls daughters from the White Plains.”
The ladies each bow their heads as he proclaims them by their forebearers’ titles. You watch from aside, feeling even more out-of-place. The king recites them all proudly as he extends a finger for each.
“Allow me myself to extend a welcome to Astra. When you are sorted, my wife shall receive you all and have you acquainted with the grounds. I hope you enjoy them, we’ve had the gardeners at work day and night,” he pronounces, “for now, I must be off, for a king has many obligations and not so much time.”
He bows and turns on his heel, marching off with his shoulder straight and head high. He walks as a soldier does, not some lord. You’ve seen the difference before, more recently in the aftermath of battle. A soldier is more akin to a farmer, much as your father, whereas a Lord tends to keep his steps tight.
“Wow, oh my,” Dorida fans herself, “he is rather handsome.”
“Oh yes,” Marcia and Marigold say, the latter forging ahead, “we met him at our father’s castle. He is ever so charming.”
“Hm, and the queen would love to hear it, I’m certain,” Calliope intones brusquely.
“The queen is not here,” Ameri sneers, “so what does it matter? Besides, is it so wrong to state a truth?”
“He is very elegant,” Selene agrees.
“Much too kind, as well,” Marigold snips, “Woodsdam? He speaks as if it more than some paltry farmhouse.”
“You’d never even heard of it,” Calliope remarks.
“And how had you, hm? You seem the bookish type. Perhaps you should leave the maps to the men. What good will a river or road do for a widow’s welp?”
“Needn’t be cruel,” Calliope rebuffs.
“Pity if this is the lot they send,” Marcia shakes her head as the sisters share another cryptic look.
You keep to yourself. That is all you can do. It is better to watch and learn than to leap and land wherever you might. Your mother always said so and she was your best teacher.
“Right, there must be some maid who might show us to our rooms,” Marigold stands on her toes and waves at each passing servant. “I tire of the sunlight and boorish company.”
👑
You have two trunks awaiting you in your chambers. Not as the other ladies who had at least a dozen each. Less humble than your lunger are the rooms themselves.
There is an antechamber hung with tapestries showing wildlife and flora, a table set for two and cushioned bench by the window. The bedroom is draped in similar hangings with a four-post bed and a grand hearth. A desk, another bench, a woven carpet, and fine accouterments on square tables. And a closet for the commode as well and a pot in the far corner of the bedchamber.
If only your mother and father could see this. They would be just as amazed. You can’t help but admire all of it. To touch the curtains as you approach the window and stare off at the afternoon sky. The gardens are a medley of hues; petals and thorns; leaves and dirt. It’s all so wonderful, you can still hardly believe it.
Seems those other ladies can’t either. You can’t help but think of their words anon. They said so outrightly what you doubted inwardly. You don’t belong here. It must be so clear to them.
You lean on the ledge and peer down into the garden pathways. It is almost a labyrinth with how intricately they’ve laid out the hedges. You lower yourself down to your elbows and cross your arms as you sigh.
Your eyes are drawn from the swaying roses to the dark speck that appears below. You squint at first. From the second floor, it is harder to discern. It is the glimmer of gold in his hair and the defined gait that gives away the king. For an instant, you believe you might be dreaming.
He walks along one path and to the next. There is another with him. A man with darker hair and a stauncher figure. They speak and stop just as they enter a circled walkway centered by a large vase of flowers. The other man talks, though you can hear neither, and the king rubs his chin.
You should turn away. They might think you an eavesdropper. Oh, too late! You don’t dare move as the king tilts his head. You wouldn’t want to pique his attention. You cannot tell if he has spotted you. Not until he raises a hand and waves. The other man stops and looks to follow the gesture.
You stand up straight but before you can flee in horror, you recall yourself. It is improper to turn your back to the king. You lift your hand and return the wave. He dips his head and turns to clap his companion’s shoulder, pointing him onward.
Oh, you hope he is not unhappy. If you pray, perhaps he will not have recognised you. You needn’t an enemy of the king as well.

Pleaaaase more farmer! Price, I BEG OF YOU
hybrid reader. mean price. brief daddy kink.
farmer price who is mercurial at his worst.
whose temper froths, bubbles beneath sun-hardened skin on market days, when he spends overlong lugging produce to and from his beat up truck. its the heat, or the sweat weaving his chest hair, or the customers who refuse to believe that, despite this year's asparagus being slightly paler than the lasts', it is still just as good. it's a medley of things, each marginally more vexing given their immutable nature. and where he's tailored patience like a glove — watering crops so that they may come alive in the next season, or moulding a perfectly credulous thing to his will — it does no good when his hands are tied.
he's keen to get home. unwind under the cool roof of his ranch. scrub the muck off and knock back a glass of scotch. the august sun might be beastly to work underneath, but he admits it makes for a pleasant sight as it sets. you're so easily awed, at least, bleating softly when he combs his fingers around your ears and calls out marigold rays. it's just the thing to make up for his day. a drink, a view, and a fuzzy pussy to occupy his hands with.
only you're not indulgent. not soft on the idea of sitting still for hours as you're swung to and from the precipice of climax. a strange restlessness has worked its way through your blood in the past week, spoiling the docility that keeps his collar fastened firm around your neck. he credits it to the encroach of autumn. expectation, leaden on your dumbed conscience, that you'll soon be bred and plump with lambs. the swollen heat between your legs is enough signal to the fact, bucking up into his hand when he pets it.
but if not that, then it's the little feet kicking off his lap, disturbing the stable footing he lends to your bottom. it’s the way your fat thighs quiver, locking around his hand to keep him there, to keep his callouses grinding against your clit. and despite the layer of soaked wool nested along your lips, the squelches of your over-eager cunt are clear in the conditioned air. loud, lewd. sticky sounding when he buffs his heavy fingers over the hard bud poking out.
“y’proud of this? huh?” he grunts, singling on that one point where your nerve ending are too exposed. too concentrated. it must be torture when the rough pad of his thumb swipes over it, skinning you alive, flaying you open so that you’re a steaming mess on his lap. damp baby hairs mat by your crown, smelling of salt when he presses a curled lip to your temple. “dumb little lamb. can’t think of anyone ‘cept yourself, mm? making a mess on daddy’s lap after he’s had such a hard day. i should slap this needy thing silly, ‘till you can’t piss without regrettin’ it. call in kyle to tear you apart to his heart’s content. he’s been good lately. deserves it.”
“nnngh! s’too mu- muhh.”
but he thrusts two fingers into your tense hole anyway, feeling you up from the inside. the heat between your legs, the hot fervour of it sucking his fingers deeper, rapidly blossoms up your body. his chest itches with the sweat seeping off your back, beard soaking in the puddle of it that pools off your neck. he would have it in him to be worried, but today is not that sort of day.
the heel of his hand makes good work of kneading into your clit, the poor thing throbbing under the crushing pressure. it all grows to be too much, too fast. you’d been begging for something gentle, no doubt. a merciful address to a heat you can’t control, this recurring cycle of which he was already made aware of. but you’ve been with him long enough to know better.
if this were his break day, he might have stuffed you with a toy. fed your whines with his cock. wiped your tears with scarred knuckles, and kissed your eyes shut as you worked through your desperation.
if it were autumn, if the weather were any cooler, and mating season brought with it a new, soft coat of wool and the right conditions for your pregnancy — including the freeing of his time — he might have even laid you down on the hardwood floors and given you what you so desperately crave.
but for now, he’s holding out, waiting, keeping his little lamb in line.
just as good farmers do.
(and if it hurts, that’s fine. he doesn’t expect an animal to understand, anyway.)

Fun Vikdecai scenario for you
and by "fun" I mean pure angst
After the events of the Pilot its not hard to imagine Ivy giving Viktor more details about the trio''s "successful" rum run and their encounter with Marigold. Whether to brag or because Viktor wants to know exactly how much danger she was in.
Tumblr media
She might mention the moment when she looked over her shoulder and it looked like Mordecai had his gun aimed right at her, and maybe she was seeing things, but she could swear it looked like he had the shot but lowered the gun
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Viktor pauses for a moment but casually dismisses the idea. Mordecai is a traitor and backstabber etc. Shot his partner of over six years in the knee and went to work for their biggest rivals just after Atlas died and the grass started looking greener on the Marigold side.
Tumblr media
Plus Ivy still has that wide eyed optimism about her, so of course she is going to read kinder intentions into what could have been a simple matter of the car being too far away or the gun jamming etc.
He doesn't think too much about it after that. Eventually, after recovering just about enough from his injury from the pig farmer attack, Viktor insists to Mitzi that he go with the two crazy noodle armed cousins instead of Ivy.
Mitzi is reluctant but knows when Viktor isn't going to budge, and so she agrees on condition that he not try and throttle Rocky or Ivy's boyfriend while on the job.
The terms are accepted.
Begrudgingly.
Tumblr media
But the inevitable happens, and of course, they have a run-in with Marigold.
This is a nightmare for Mordecai.
This is exactly what wounding Viktor's knee was supposed to prevent. He can't let the Savoys go after Viktor, but even if he manages to get them to focus on the two crazy amateurs, Mordecai won't be able to get away with just wounding him and then leaving him be like the kneecapping incident, because the Savoys will want to finish the job, and what reason could he give them for refusing?
Killing Viktor is clearly not an option. He couldn't do it to Ivy and there is no way he can do it now. Betraying his trust, the years of always having each others backs, and the unlikely bond they shared when he left Lackadaisy, had been hard enough. However much he told himself it was "for his own good".
Now either Viktor or his invesitgation into Atlas's death are doomed. Likely both.
He has to try and force Viktor to retreat. He fires warning shots close enough for Viktor to feel the bullets fly past him but just miss his large frame.
Viktor knows how deadly Mordecai is at range and considering what limited weapons Viktor is working with surely the stubborn and still visibly injured and slower moving Ox for once will do the sensible thing!?
But there's a problem with that strategy. Viktor knows Mordecai. More specifically, he knows how well he shoots. He has seen him hit much less tall and broad targets in much more difficult circumstances without breaking a sweat, but here he is missing multiple shots? That's when what Ivy said months before comes back to him.
He knows Mordecai is missing those shots on purpose.
Tumblr media
What the hell happens now?
Mordecai can't retreat but has no idea what to do either with Viktor clearly not backing off, while Viktor is not only too stubborn to do so but now knows Mordecai is trying not to shoot him. Does he take the opportunity to confront him? Get out from behind any cover and just start walking with as strong and determined a pace as his bad knees will allow? Does he want to pull Mordecai's head off his body, get payback for his knee, demand an explanation why someone he considered a friend betrayed him?
All the while, Mordecai is getting more and more panicked with every heavy step.

love the idea that Adam can’t cook, but I propose that, in exchange, he has the biggest green thumb. Adam not be allowed in the kitchen, but he gets picky about who can help with gardening. Husk accidentally stepped on a marigold, and now he’s banned.
YES ANON WE'VE TALKED ABOUT THIS BEFORE YES YES YES!!!!
That guy had to feed a fuckton of kids and work the land. That was literally the curse God put upon him when they were banished from Eden. He is an expert gardener and farmer. I think this knowledge is probably repressed in his brain because he hasn't had to use it for millennia, but once you give him a pot and some seeds, he's growing plants and trees left and right.
Farmer/gardener Adam is so good it makes me bite my knuckles

𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐲!
Mabon marks the Fall Equinox! Typically observed on September 21 in the Northern Hemisphere, Mabon spans from September 21 to September 29. It is a time of balance, when day and night are equal in length, symbolizing harmony and equilibrium. Many cultures celebrate this period as a time of thanksgiving and reflection, honoring the bountiful harvest and the changing of the seasons. Traditional festivities might include feasts with seasonal foods like apples, pumpkins, and squash, along with activities such as gathering with loved ones, giving thanks, and preparing for the colder months ahead.
People often take this opportunity to connect with nature, perhaps by taking walks in the crisp autumn air, collecting colorful leaves, or setting up altars with symbols of the season. It's also a time for introspection, to consider what has been achieved over the past months and to set intentions for the future.
In modern times, Mabon encourages a moment of pause in our busy lives, reminding us to appreciate the abundance around us, to cultivate gratitude, and to seek balance in our own lives. Whether through quiet reflection, community gatherings, or simply enjoying a warm cup of cider while watching the leaves fall, Mabon offers a beautiful reminder of the cyclical nature of life and the ever-present opportunity for renewal and growth.

This list is for those witches who may still be in the closet. These activities can pass as “Autumnal Activities” to others! Here are some subtle yet enchanting ways to celebrate your craft:
Nature Walks: Collect leaves, acorns, and other natural items to use in your spells and crafts. It’s a great way to connect with nature and gather supplies without drawing attention.
Pumpkin Carving: Carve symbols or sigils into your pumpkins. Not only are they festive, but they can also serve as protection or intention-setting.
Candle Making: Create your own candles with herbs and essential oils. You can infuse them with specific intentions and use them for rituals later on.
Baking: Make seasonal treats like apple pie or pumpkin bread. Incorporate herbs and spices that have magical properties, such as cinnamon for prosperity or nutmeg for luck.
Herb Drying: Harvest and dry herbs for your witchy cabinet. Hang bundles of rosemary or lavender in your kitchen to dry; it looks like you're just readying them for cooking.
Gardening: Plant bulbs or prepare your garden for winter. This is a great way to work with the earth and practice your green-thumb magic.
Reading: Dive into books about folklore, mythology, or herbalism. It’s a cozy way to expand your knowledge and connect with ancient traditions. (Kindle has a phone app, if you cannot have physical books)
DIY Crafts: Make wreaths, potpourri, or sachets with found natural items. These can be used for decoration or as part of your magical practice.
Tea Time: Brew different herbal teas. Experiment with blends that have magical properties to set intentions or simply relax.
Moon Watching: Keep track of the moon phases and spend time outside during the full moon. This can be a meditative practice and a way to align with lunar energies.
By incorporating these activities into your routine, you can celebrate your witchy side while blending seamlessly into the autumnal festivities. Happy enchanting!

Apples are a common symbol of Mabon/Autumn Equinox for many pagans, wiccans, and witches. They can be incorporated into many different kinds of spell work for abundance, health, renewal, planting the seed of an idea/intention & knowledge. Apples can be used in magick by cutting them in half horizontally to reveal the star inside. Spell ingredients can then be sprinkled on top. Other ways of using apples is to dry then to decorate your altar or space with. You can gather apples to return to the Earth by burying them to give thanks for the Harvest. Cooking with apples is a perfect way to celebrate Mabon. Whether you make a warm apple pie, a spiced cider, or a savory apple stew, these dishes can be shared with loved ones to honor the season. The act of cooking itself becomes a ritual, infusing each dish with your intentions and gratitude.
Additionally, apples can be used in divination practices. By peeling an apple in a single strip and tossing the peel over your shoulder, the shape it forms when it lands can reveal the initial of a future partner or give you insight into a question you hold in your heart. Scrying with apple seeds is another method; by placing seeds on a hot surface and watching their movement, you can glean messages and guidance.
Incorporating apples into your daily routines during Mabon can also help you remain connected to the cycles of nature. Enjoying a fresh apple as a mindful snack, reflecting on its journey from blossom to fruit, can be a simple yet profound way to express appreciation for the Earth's bounty. Decorating your home with apple-themed items, such as candles, wreaths, or even apple-scented essential oils, can further enhance the seasonal ambiance.

Mabon, also known as the Autumn Equinox, is a significant festival in the Wheel of the Year, celebrated by many Pagans and Wiccans. The name "Mabon" itself is relatively modern, coined by Aidan Kelly in the 1970s, yet the festival's roots stretch back to ancient times. It marks the second of three harvest festivals, following Lammas and preceding Samhain. Occurring around September 21-23 in the Northern Hemisphere, Mabon represents a time of balance when day and night are of equal length. This event symbolizes the gradual descent into the darker half of the year, as the days grow shorter and the nights longer.
Historically, many cultures have celebrated the equinox with various customs and rituals. In ancient Greece, the festival of Eleusinia honored Demeter, the goddess of the harvest, and her daughter Persephone. The myth of Persephone's descent into the underworld and her eventual return is a powerful allegory for the changing seasons and the cycle of life and death. Similarly, in ancient Rome, the festival of Pomona celebrated the goddess of fruits and orchards, reflecting the importance of the harvest season. In the British Isles, the equinox was a time of thanksgiving and community gatherings, with people coming together to celebrate and share the bounty of the harvest.
Modern Mabon celebrations often involve giving thanks for the earth's abundance, reflecting on themes of balance and gratitude, and preparing for the coming winter months. Rituals may include offerings of fruits, vegetables, and grains, as well as meditative practices to honor the seasonal shift. Many contemporary Pagans and Wiccans also incorporate elements of ancient traditions, such as feasting, storytelling, and connecting with nature. Mabon serves as a reminder of the cyclical nature of life and the importance of living in harmony with the rhythms of the earth.

There's no denying that Cottage Living is my favourite pack, so it was only a matter of time that I made over Kim. She's so sweet and, in my head, very Welsh.
Funnily enough, I always want to type Kim Woodburn instead of Kim Goldbloom, but that'd be a very different lookbook...

Lughnasadh Masterpost - Spoonie Witch Friendly
Tumblr media
Lughnasadh, this holiday typically lands on August 1st in the Northern Hemisphere (February 1st in the Southern Hemisphere).
Lughnasadh celebrates the arrival of the late summer season and the abundance of the first harvest.
Usually it a harvest of grain and corn, but in other areas it’s a fruit and vegetables for harvest. You’ll see the days begin to shorten from here.
This is a holiday that is more easy to feel disconnect from as most aren’t out there Stardew Valley style on their grandfathers farm. We either have a small garden of our own or everything is store bought. Or those who are gluten intolerant they also may find it harder to connect.
Celebrating and honoring the harvest is important. Even if we are not personally gardening we are offering thanks for natures prosperity in keeping us fed and healthy with each bountiful harvest.
But after this correspondence list I will give you a list of ideas of how everyone can celebrate.

Got a write up on high modernism, or someone else's you would recommend?
I think James C. Scott is the one to coin the term? Where I got it from anyway. You can probably best understand as a) a deep abiding faith capital-P Progress and a teleological view of history and civilization, b) a cult of experts and technocracy, with academic/technical knowledge prized over custom and tradition and 'uneducated' popular opinion and c) a program of using technology and scientific organization to improve the world (which as a necessary precondition requires the world been rationalized and made legible to bureaucratic understanding and scientific optimization.
Though really I use the tag a) with a wildly variable amount of irony depending on what I'm tagging and b) mostly as, like, a vibe.
Uh, think, aesthetically: Brasilia, the Aswan Dam, the Turkestan-Siberian Railway and the Interstate Highway System - overmighty civil services and fordist/state capitalist economics - mass electrification and literacy programs as wholesale national missions - 'towers and flowers' urban design and high speed rail as prestige project - 'measuring the marigolds' and skepticism/demystification as ideological project - land reform but the type that ends up empowering technical experts and state managers as much/more than the peasant farmers - the heroic age of science - the Green Revolution - Better Living Through Chemistry - your first reaction to someone talking about 'the good old days' being infant mortality/forced marriage/smallpox/blood feuds - thinking a world where everything about the world is legible and rationally ordered as an impossible utopia and not a depressive nightmare.

Hi Tracy I recently found lackadaisy a week ago when the trailer came out through my other fave VA such as micheal , Sungwon, and the hunnicast. And its apart of the reason i started to get into VA myself and Digital art and write . so thank you :)
Anyways to the detrement of myself i read it in a Day when i saw the trailer came out and I read the entire series in a day, and i feel like i read it so fast i missed out of some key details. I love making spec scripts and like to make them accurate. Can you please clear up a few things as for me , if any are not allowed to be explained as its yet to come up feel free to skip it.
I read the official Wikipedia but I really wanted to make sure i get things right. So here it is !
Does mordecai really think that mitzi killed atlas is that why he left? Is he seeking revenge imfor that by being apart of marigold and take them down?
How and when did Mordecai join lackadaisy and why did he leave for marigold ?
Does mordecai like working for marigold , is he like a double agent between lackadaisy and marigold kind of not really fully on anyone's side ?
When did he join marigold and why?
Why did Victor stay at lackadaisy ?
Though serafine and mordecai are in the same gang does he dislike sarafine and why?
Is serafine a supplier? Or is she triggerwoman? Or both
Are the pig farmers just a bunch of people who dispose of ..bodies I guess or do they also supply alcohol to gangs and which.
Is serafine against lackadaisy , and trying to bring them down , and why?
Are the abrogasts now a supplier for marigold and Lackadaisy but trying to keep it a secret from marigold ? And why did they stop working for lackadaisy
Why doee Viktor not approve of ivy in other relationships is he just protective ?
I know Ivy likes freckle but why exactly and when
Who is mordecai torturing in the latest chapters of Lackadaisy and why ?
Again so sorry for all the questions , I just want to make my spec scripts as accurate as possible
Thanks Tracy !
Hey, thanks for reading and for your interest!
A lot of my answers to these would be in the form of a question - specifically, "what do you think?"
It's not that I wish to be evasive, but an author hanging over a reader's shoulder to spell out all of the subtext seems a bit untoward and self-defeating. I realize you want clarity so you can write something yourself - which is lovely - but some things are meant to be interpreted, and some things are simply not answered yet by the story.
Anyway, my apologies for skipping over some of the questions. Here are the ones I can answer without over-explaining.
Spoilers below for those who haven't read the comic to date.
-------------------------------------------
How and when did Mordecai join lackadaisy and why did he leave for marigold ?
He became involved with Lackadaisy after Atlas saved him from some trouble he'd gotten himself into. (More accurately, Atlas offered up a minor favor and then watched to see if Mordecai could save himself.) Mordecai left Lackadaisy shortly after Atlas' death. Look for clues as to why in Mordecai's discussions with Mitzi.
Does mordecai like working for marigold , is he like a double agent between lackadaisy and marigold kind of not really fully on anyone's side ?
Can't answer the whole question, but it's hopefully obvious he's not really enjoying himself.
Why did Victor stay at lackadaisy ?
Resignation.
Though serafine and mordecai are in the same gang does he dislike sarafine and why?
The Savoys aren't from St. Louis. They don't know Mordecai's past and reputation as an indispensible hand to Atlas in Lackadaisy's glory days. To his dismay, the Savoys aren't intimidated by him, nor are they inclined to venerate him for his history, nor are they going to cede group control to him - they're intent on sussing him out for themselves. He's not really the most socially adroit individual, and when others don't immediately buy the cold murder-man persona he wears like a stiff business suit, he doesn't really know what to do about that. Also, Serafine carved a symbol into his chest with a knife, so…
Is serafine a supplier? Or is she triggerwoman? Or both
A little of both. She's mostly a hired gun under Marigold, but the Savoys were previously hijacking Marigold convoys heading up the Mississippi delta, and using the goods to supply their hometown. No matter how much firepower Marigold's runners brought along, the Savoys would get the better of them. Recognizing talent, Marigold hired them to St. Louis to stamp out competition that might have risen up in the vacuum the fallen Lackadaisy left.
Are the pig farmers just a bunch of people who dispose of ..bodies I guess or do they also supply alcohol to gangs and which.
The pig farmers were moonshiners and bootleggers, making their own alcohol and buying it off the river. They also did favors for Marigold - for payment presumably, and under the assumption that it made them allies with a powerful establishment who might return the favor at some point. There wouldn't be a lot of overlap between their respective rural and urbanite clientele, and Marigold definitely wasn't interested in any of the low grade river swill the pig farmers were buying up, so they didn't perceive them as competition. Instead, Marigold saw the pig farmers as a convenient tool, and used them as such.
Is serafine against lackadaisy , and trying to bring them down , and why?
In the sense that she's working for the competition, yes. It's probably not personal.
Are the abrogasts now a supplier for marigold and Lackadaisy but trying to keep it a secret from marigold ? And why did they stop working for lackadaisy
The Arbogasts stopped interacting with Lackadaisy when Atlas died. Mitzi was struggling to keep the Lackadaisy open and had run dry of the funding she'd need to buy the high quality alcohol the Arbogasts traffic in from Canada. She went to some, uh, lengths to acquire funding, though, and has proceeded to try to re-establish a business relationship with the Arbogasts. The complication is, in the interim, in Lackadaisy's absence, Marigold had taken over the route.
Why doee Viktor not approve of ivy in other relationships is he just protective ?
He's not thrilled that Ivy keeps finding ways to be ever more entangled with Lackadaisy.
I know Ivy likes freckle but why exactly and when
She sees a challenge in a boy who doesn't talk much, I suppose. Presumably she thinks he's cute too. Also, she's looking for trouble she needed a new dance partner.
Who is mordecai torturing in the latest chapters of Lackadaisy and why ?
Gracie, a former jewel thief who went to prison. When he came back, he forcibly took over his uncle's business, which involved buying alcohol from Marigold. Mordecai was supposed to kill him, but he seems to think Gracie might have some information that would be important to him.
