imagine an au where you wake up to a chill seeping through the comfort of your duvet. it's a little unusual. the mornings shouldn't be so cold anymore; did you maybe leave the window open?
a headache blooms along your conscience, and you think that maybe you had one too many drinks out of frustration last night. but, then again, it's not your fault that prickly bastard got on your nerves and made you drink till you passed out. he just has it out for you!
bare arms are draped over your equally bare midriff, its hold around you tightening and— wait. you're NAKED?!
by the speed at which you flipped to your other side, you wouldn't be surprised if you got whiplash. actually, scrap that. maybe the familiar face lying beside you, alongside the marks you barely caught a glimpse of amidst your turn, is more than enough to wish you actually did get it.
"mmh, what's wrong?" he mumbles in all his sleepy glory, clearly disoriented from your sudden movement. a hand rubs against his heavy lids in a feeble attempt to clear out the bleary fog which clings to his vision, one in which blocks the sight of you by default. "you're never up before me in these mornings."
...how did you end up in the bed of your arch-nemesis (self-proclaimed), naked, and— why is he staring at you so affectionately? weren't you just at each other's throats a few hours ago? (figuratively or literally, it doesn't matter. you were at each other's throats all the same.)
(or, you somehow find yourself three years into the future, married to the very same prickly bastard who made you black-out drunk (self-inflicted). and naked (not self-inflicted. probably).)

So ocarina of time goes to great lengths to show that the Hero of Time doesn't kill anything that's not a monster. If you shoot a patrolling Gerudo, you knock her out. One of the ones that ambush you even says that he hit her with the flat of his sword. He doesn't (can't?) kill the Skull Kids that attack him as an adult in the Lost Woods. This continues into Majora's Mask when he moves to restrain the Skull Kid rather than attack him even thought he has a sword. And even in Twilight Princess. Even though it's only briefly mentioned in the manga and hyrule historia about how careful The Hero's Shade is with the Hero of Twilight.
ALL I'M SAYING IS: The Hero of Time is actually an incredibly gentle person and Zelda bound Ganon at the end to protect Link from having to kill him a second time.

I think the same reason I love Dorym is why I love Loquatious and Laerryn. One, the devotion of it all. But secondly, and more importantly, "But there's one story of a fairy who stumbled into this world and fell in love"
Because Dorian is an air genasi prince who left home to find something real. His home floats on wind and he's never wanted for a thing. And he came down from his clouds only to find himself stumbling, tumbling, into love with just a man.
There is something so earnest about a man who is considered magical and wondrous in a world that already has magic, falling in love with someone who just is.
It's a thought that scratches the back of my mind a lot. It goes hand in hand with Liam saying "he has no idea if Dorian returns his feelings". Because from Orym's point of view why would Dorian have feelings for him? Dorian. The beautiful blue prince who is extremely talented in both music and magic. Dorian is everything Orym admires in other people. Everything he doesn't see in himself.
But Dorian does have feelings for Orym. Because Orym is everything he's not. He's firm and reliable. He knows who he is and is unapologetic about it. Orym was the only one in the (original) Crown Keepers that wasn't tempted by the spider queen. Because he was too principled. He was too good. Dorian's alignment changed. Dorian felt himself getting worse. Yet Orym stayed steadfast. In the face of everything he did not change.
Their pursuits were the same. They wanted to protect their friends. At any cost. But Orym somehow stayed unchanged. He always knew the right way of doing things.
So the handsome prince fell in love with a guard and planned to stay with him until he no longer wanted the company.
I literally said to a friend "I know he leaves. But he is so devoted to Orym I don't know how they're going to get him to."
And it was the one thing neither could argue against. Family. Orym knew about family. He knew about duty.
But even a continent away Dorian couldn't stop thinking about Orym. His little tactician before he was the savior blade. Even when his world came crashing down, Orym called and he went.
Idk. I think there's something beautiful in the way that Dorian loves Orym. I think it is very reminiscent of the fey who stumbled into this world and fell in love. I think it will be a love that will always be with them. That they will have to recover from. A love they might have to mourn before they ever have it.
Even if they never... If there is no love confession, if they have to mourn the loss of the people they thought they were, if there's no way for them to be together; Dorian will always love Orym. In the same way Orym loves Will. First love often lingers.

okay i'm. i'm watching berserk 1997 and it's good. guts is so autistic shut up that's his comfort Big Sword that he likes to sit with in a very specific position at the highest vantage point he can find he's literally dog-coded AND cat-coded..... he's just trying to find his purpose after a lifetime of depersoning and objectifying himself as a weapon of war, the hand that holds and exercises the sword and the will of others. & he thinks he's just a pebble in griffith's journey because he doesn't realize how mature he’s being in this goal. obviously everyone is like that. griffith must also capable of this self reflection because well, guts can manage it even though he's only good at swords.. he can't even fathom the depth to which griffith loves and obsesses over him because he hates himself so deeply… and also once overheard griffith projecting about how Obviously guts isn't his equal Obviously he is very rational about his friend guts and isn't completely fucking deranged about him and trying to convince himself that he's not. and! and! guts Also can't fathom that casca cares about him, and so immediately positions himself as her wingman because he wants to be useful and help his friends find happiness. and what if all three of them were csa survivors. what then. what if i blew everything up.
