call it what you want pt 6.
matt sturniolo x fem reader.
mom i literally need him 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Tumblr media
game day. game day. game day.
the day in tradition where the whole school gathers to watch a game of sports, played by a group of cocky, stuck up, shit eating jocks. aka: matt sturniolo.
-
“you have to wear it y/n!” he yelled.
“i don’t have to do shit! im not your fucking trophy, and i don’t want to be paraded around in your fucking jersey, just so everyone knows you’re not with jessica, i won’t do it.” you yelled back. crossing your arms, holding firm as you watched him pace the living room, hands on his head.
this argument had been going on for the last 10 minutes. he wanted you to wear his jersey, and you refused. you knew the only reason he wanted you to wear it was so he could advertise you instead of jessica, and you weren’t going to let him have that type of satisfaction.
“if you don’t wear the damn jersey y/n,” he paused before stomping over to you and coming to a halt less than a foot away from you. “i will drag you onto the middle of the rink,
in front of everyone and tell the whole school your mine, just to get the message across.” he said in a low tone, he was so close you could feel the heat radiating off of him.
quite frankly, you were speechless, there was something about what he said, and the look in his eyes when he said it, that you couldn’t decipher and it made your face hot, and your throat run dry.
there was a pregnant pause, the both of you just staring at each other, faces inches apart. matt was seething, his jaw was clenched and his eyes staring into yours were firm, but you couldn’t deny the low bubbling feeling in your stomach, from the way he took a small step closer, leaning down and bringing his face closer to yours. you swallowed, desperately trying to pull yourself together, but his face being so close to yours was making you swoon.
and just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, his eyes glanced down to your lips momentarily, and if you didn’t know any better, he was about to kiss you.
“we’re gonna be late”
the both of you pulled away from each other immediately. not daring to look at one another.
matt practically disappeared up his own ass, walking off into the kitchen with his head down without a second glance, and you cleared your throat awkwardly while turning to look at nick, who stood at the bottom of the stairs, with a flat expression.
“we were just um…” you trailed off, looking back into the kitchen, trying to avoid his eyes at all costs.
“put on the jersey y/n” nick said with a monotone voice.
there was no getting out of this. you just sighed before reaching for the jersey that was hanging over the back of the couch, and pulling it over your head, finally looking at nick with a frown. he didn’t even say anything. he just sent you a firm nod, opening the door and motioning for you to walk out before yelling for chris and matt to meet them in the car.
-
“why are they playing so bad?” nick exclaimed, throwing his hands up.
the game was about 35 minutes in, and so far the opposite team was up by 5 nil. they had gotten 2 penalties so far because of matts team playing dirty, or in other words, matt gets pissed off and starts pushing them around.
you could see he was visibly frustrated. he kept doing that neck roll thing, like he was trying to relieve some tension.
but where else could you look when elijah had been shooting daggers at you, from the moment you appeared in the sidelines, clad in matt sturniolo’s jersey with a huge 4 stamped on the front and back, a stark contrast from elijahs number 9. you knew he must have been furious, but it only made you wanna grab matt and smooch his face off right in front of him, just to see the look of pure rage on elijahs face. you obviously never would but, a girl can dream.
suddenly the whole crowd gasped and fell into silence, snapping you out of your thoughts.
“shit” nick muttered. you followed his eyes and saw matt, pulling off his helmet, skating towards the edge of the rink, where you and nick stood.
you examined him as he came towards you, trying to figure out what the whole crowd was stunned by.
“what happened?” nick questioned, frantically.
“kid sent the puck flying straight at my fucking face” matt replied angrily, dropping his helmet, bringing a hand to his mouth, wiping a smidge of blood, where his lip had split.
your face scrunched up slightly. but soon fell when matt turned his gaze of you, pausing for a moment, like he was thinking, before he moved closer, letting his arms rest on the barrier separating the rink and the stands.
you watched him, waiting for his next move. you could’ve swore you saw a lightbulb pop up over his head, as a smirk grew on his face.
he turned slightly, glancing over his shoulder, seeing the whole of his team, and the other team, watching, before turning back, glancing behind you, at the whole audience in a stand still, also watching, then letting his eyes fall back to yours.
“kiss it better” he whispered.
you’re eyes widened at him.
“what?”
“all eyes on you sweetheart” he cooed, shrugging with raised eyebrows.
all eyes on you.
elijah.
jessica.
caden.
all eyes on you.
you had no time to even register what was happening, it was like your body moved before your brain told it to, and before you knew it, your hands were clutching at his shirt, pulling his lips onto yours, in a searing kiss. his lips were soft, and fit perfectly into yours.
you heard nick gasp from besides you as the whole crowd erupted into applaud. matt smiled against your mouth before pulling away, eyes boring into yours before opening his mouth to speak.
“almost convincing” he muttered, before turning around and skating off back to the middle of the rink, to the rest of his team, leaving you stood there in utter disbelief.
you kissed matt. you kissed matt and the whole school saw.
but you kissed matt and the whole school saw. he got exactly what he wanted, he got to put his trophy on display, and show everyone that he wasn’t with jessica. that’s why he did it, and you weren’t sure if it was because of that reason, or because you wished it wasn’t that reason, that you felt a little pang of sadness deep in your chest.
“what. the. fuck” nick spoke, staring at the side of your face with wide eyes. you just hung your head refusing to meet his gaze.
he was right. what. the fuck.
you just completely went against everything you agreed on and let matt get exactly what he wanted and a little part of you felt disgusted with yourself.
you could feel eyes burning holes burning into the back of you. out of pure fear, of either jessica or caden, you couldn’t turn around, you were not prepared for the blazing confrontation from either one of them.
you lifted your head back up and locked eyes with matt, he was smirking at you as his teammates clapped him on the back and dapped him up, as if they were proud of him and the more you watched, the more all of that disgust turned into complete fury.
how dare he. how dare he embarrass you and put you on the spot like that. he was just proving your point of what a jerk he was and giving you even more reasons to hate the fucking bones of him.
he was hot and cold. one minute, he was calling you ugly and being straight up fucking mean, then the next he was kissing you in front of everyone like it was nothing. he had been pulling you in just to push you back out again and it had only been one week. one week of pure insufferable tension that made you want to yell in his face and slap him blind.
he knew you never wanted to take this too far, this was supposed to be a harmless agreement to fulfil a jealousy plan, and a stupid “piss off your parents” plan, but he had crossed the line. he had grabbed you by the throat and sunk his teeth into you without a care in the world.
you were furious. your face was hot with rage and you’re breathing became laboured. you weren’t sure if you had ever felt rage like this before.
nick needed to hear this. he needed to know what a head fuck his brother was, but as you turned to him, you were met with a look of pure horror on his face. he was staring at whatever was happening on the ice.
in your moment of anger you hadn’t realised the commotion going on around you, people were yelling, whistles being blown, various coaches and other team members rushing onto the ice in a panic.
and when your eyes snapped to where everyone was looking, your face fell, with eyes wide and mouth hanging open, your heart stopped beating for a second.

Star-spawned
A game of tentacles and self-discovery, for 3–5 players
One unearthly night, a ray of colourless light descended from the stars, and under its warping radiance, creatures unlike any the world has ever seen were born. They do not know the world, and they do not know themselves. Unfortunately for the world, they’re quick learners!
What You’ll Need
Star-spawned requires three six-sided dice, a large sheet of blank paper – or, alternatively, a shared spreadsheet or text document – called the Discovery Sheet, and some way of noting the values of each player’s Facets.
Some rules refer to the player to your left or right; if you’re not seated around a table, work out a virtual seating order amongst yourselves before play begins.
Character Creation
Character creation in Star-spawned is undertaken as a group, and consists of two main phases: generating Facets, and assigning Facets.
Generate Facets
Roll a six-sided die twice, reading the first roll as the “tens” place and the second roll as the “ones” place, yielding a number in the range from 11 to 66. Find the corresponding row of the following table, and write down the contents of the first column. Repeat this process for the second and third columns, and arrange the results in order to find the name of a Facet. For example, if you rolled 23, 41, and 31, this would yield a Facet name of “Desmatence”.
Generate a number of Facet names equal to the number of players, and write them on the Discovery Sheet, each in a separate column with plenty of space under it.
11–12. ab | bles | age 13–14. an | cap | and 15–16. bi | cim | ary 21–22. con | dab | ate 23–24. des | dor | dom 25–26. flam | glan | en 31–32. gen | gov | ence 33–34. gro | kin | ess 35–36. jav | lin | ice 41–42. ka | mat | ing 43–44. pur | ned | ion 45–46. re | nil | ity 51–52. sle | nov | le 53–54. sun | quir | ma 55–56. tab | sped | ood 61–62. tri | sib | on 63–64. ven | tin | ous 65–66. war | tog | yle
Assign Facets
Your character begins with a rating of 1 in each Facet generated in the previous step. Distribute a number of additional points equal to the number of players (or, equivalently, equal to the number of Facets). No Facet may have a final value greater than 3. Try to avoid having two characters with the exact same spread of Facets.
Note: at the time that you assign your Facets, you will have no idea what they mean. This is intentional.
Finishing Touches
No human eye may apprehend nor human tongue express what you are. Roll or choose up to three adjectives from the following table to define the impression you leave upon others – your form is otherwise utterly indescribable. Your nameless name likewise cannot be inscribed or uttered; you may amuse yourself by imagining the epithets that will inevitably be bestowed upon you.
11–12. ancient 13–14. bulbous 15–16. cyclopean 21–22. distorted 23–24. enveloping 25–26. fluid 31–32. grasping 33–34. howling 35–36. iridescent 41–42. lurking 43–44. membranous 45–46. nebulous 51–52. oily 53–54. porous 55–56. refulgent 61–62. squamous 63–64. tentacled 65–66. throbbing
Playing the Game
The sole pursuit of Star-spawned is to discover the world, and in so doing, discover yourselves. Play proceeds without a GM: simply describe what do you and ask the group what you see: any other player may answer.
In the course of your explorations, there must come a time when you are not content merely to observe, but find yourself driven to engage in some fashion. When this time comes, you must essay one of your Facets to work your will upon the world. This can be accomplished in one of three ways: Proposing a Hypothesis, Refining a Hypothesis, or Putting Theory into Practice.
Proposing a Hypothesis
Choose a Facet which currently has fewer than three statements written under it on the Discovery Sheet. (Crossed-off statements don’t count for this purpose.) Propose a hypothesis about what that Facet does, in the following form:
“[Facet name] must [up to six words, no more]”
This statement may freely contradict existing statements written under the chosen Facet if you wish; the ways of the star-spawned are ineffable.
Next, roll a number of dice equal to your rating in the chosen Facet, and sum their values. If the sum of the dice is equal to one of the first seven prime numbers – that is, a sum of 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 or 17 – then your unworldly intuition regarding the Facet’s purpose has led you rightly, and the hypothesis is confirmed; otherwise, it has led you astray: either the Facet is not what you think it is, or you’ve employed it incorrectly, and in both cases the hypothesis is refuted.
Note: the statistically astute may realise that the likelihood of rolling a prime sum decreases as more dice are rolled, from one in two with a single die, to two in five with two dice, to scarcely one in three with three dice. This is as it should be; the powerful are often overconfident!
If the sum of the roll is prime, find the row corresponding to the highest single die on the following table; otherwise, find the row corresponding to the lowest single die. Do not re-roll.
1. Unthinkable ruin 2. Vile ruin 3. Dreary ruin 4. Subtle glory 5. Stark glory 6. Ineffable glory
If you achieve glory, the player to your left describes the outcome of your overture; otherwise, the player to your right does. Their descriptions should bear in mind whether the hypothesis was confirmed or refuted: glory as a result of pursuing a refuted hypothesis is likely to take unexpected forms!
Finally, if the hypothesis was confirmed (i.e., the sum of the roll was prime), write it down near the top of the Discovery Sheet, under the appropriate Facet’s column, then add a question mark to remind yourself that it is, as yet, only a hypothesis. Otherwise, write it near the bottom, and cross it out to remind you that it’s been refuted.
Refining a Hypothesis
Choose an existing statement from the Discovery Sheet that’s followed by at least one question mark. Roll a number of dice equal to your rating in the statement’s associated Facet.
Next, you may – but are not required to – discard a number of dice up to the number of question marks following the chosen statement. (i.e., if there is one question mark, you may discard zero or one dice; if there are two question marks, you may discard zero, one, or two dice.) You may not discard all of the dice that you rolled – at least one must remain.
After making your discards, if any, sum the remaining dice.
If the sum of the dice is prime, your understanding of the Facet is deepened. Read the highest single die as your result, using the table above, and have the appropriate player describe the outcome. Then, add another question mark after the chosen statement.
If the sum of the dice is not prime, something unexpected happens, and your understanding of the Facet is transformed.  Read the lowest single die as your result, using the table above, and have the appropriate player describe the outcome. Then, choose one:
Modify the chosen statement on the Discovery Sheet by adding, removing, or changing a single word (observing the overall limit of six words following “must”, of course).
Remove a question mark from the chosen statement.
Finally, if the chosen statement now has three or more question marks next to it, erase them and write a period in their place: the hypothesis is now a theory. Conversely, if the chosen statement now has no question marks next to it at all, cross it off the Discovery Sheet.
Putting Theory into Practice
Choose an existing statement from the Discovery Sheet that’s followed by a period. As you’re falling back on well-understood principles, simply roll dice equal to your rating in the statement’s associated Facet, reading the highest single die as your result.
Concluding the Game
Play concludes when every Facet has at least one statement followed by a period written under it. Take what you’ve learned about yourselves and collectively describe the transformation you wreak upon the world.

On Acht and Romance
going into side order, from the september direct trailer where Acht was first revealed i remember the joke at the time clearly being "and now Marina's ex is here".
Tumblr media
the way this line [image description in alt] was written was basically the only evidence for this kind of idea, when the theories were kind of "Marina's order tantrum is sucking people in from her past and the DLC will be about going through her memories", so ellipses in a line like this is basically all theory crafters on no info need to go for shipping.
i'm not one who's super into plot theory crafting, i know full well the tendency to theorize something that's cooler than what you actually get and being disappointed that the story didn't live up to your imagination. the things i was obsessed with in side order promotional material was the obvious bleached coral theme, the symbolism of coral ejecting it that which keeps it safe out of stress being mapped onto Marina, the idea of her pushing those she loves (and those that keep her colorful) away out of a spiral (and it does turn out that was basically exactly what the prologue was going for)
so the whole "Acht and Marina exes" thing was kinda just a joke to me, wasn't even on my radar as something they were actually going to lean into, frankly i was still scared nintendo was going to make them kill pearlina by sending Marina to superhell or smth and we'd end up with a splatoonified destiel meme
so when the DLC comes out and it is legitimately a "they knew each other since childhood" thing, and the running bit is Acht feeling awkward third-wheeling pearlina, and it's explicit in text that one of the reasons they're coming back after the DLC is over is to scope out Pearl as the girl who took down the NILS statue who is now dating Marina... it struck me as really interesting.
at first it was me keeping up the "Marina and Acht are exes" as a joke, but as i kept reading dialogue lines, it slowly became less of a joke, they were to some degree dating because opposite but complimentary autisms, and then drifting apart as Marina got pulled away on the big girl assignment with DJ Octavio, and then the despair of knowing Marina left without even saying goodbye to Acht... it fits well into that reading, it slowly became less of a joke to believe that
but the thing that really makes me think this is intentional subtext is the final Acht diary entry you get from clearing Eight's palette. through the rest of side order talking about Acht's backstory, it seemed like they were retconning the OE lore that Acht had gotten themself sanitized intentionally, losing themself so they could explore their music deeper. but in the final diary, where Acht directly says they drifted into the deepsea metro to fall into their music, because, and i quote
"Hey, Marina. You can guess the chaos your desertion caused. I ended up without much to do except make music. "
they fell into a depression spiral when their girlfriend deserted their society without so much as saying goodbye, falling into their music deep away from interacting with everyone else, to the point that, as the old lore implies, they chose to give up their identity to escape the depression, but sanitization so thoroughly did it that they forget even making the choice.
so when they get brought out of that haze back into being themself again, with the only the barest strung-together horrified memories of what happened in the half a decade interim gap in their life, only to find themself replaced by some inkling they don't know at all, of course they're gonna be awkward seeing the two flirting.
they put on a stoic face because that's clearly their coping mechanism within this damaged body they barely recognize, hiding their eyes behind their tinted glasses so they can't be seen beneath. but the only time they let themself be vulnerable, the only time their eyes can be seen, is when they charge out in the climax when the world is at stake, diving in to try to save Marina, leaving the elevator and its protection behind to help the only person they remember ever caring about.
it's why i don't really like the aroace reading that much, because i think this reading is even more tragic and fits into the themes. the world has changed, it can't go back to how it once was, you can't put the octolings back in the canyon bottle. Marina abandoned Acht to the point they got their identity destroyed willingly to escape the pain, and when Acht came back they were replaced by the inkling whose voice they remember even through the haze of sanitized memories.
the lingering effects of sanitization have changed how they relate to everything (i think there's a fair argument to be made for the idea that sanitization took their gender can't have shit in the deepsea metro), but Acht clearly still cares for Marina and still, the slightest bit, resents having to be reminded repeatedly every time pearlina flirts in front of them how they were replaced.

Drow Name Tables
Something I did as a special favor to @kimmurielsscryingmirror (@eldritchmist ) who showed interest. Because it’s...pretty big I decided to make it into it’s own post.
These are a few Drow naming tables that were originally found in an issue of Dragon Magazine. It’s two d100 tables of prefixes and suffixes commonly used in first names. The second couple of tables is a list of common house name prefixes and suffixes.
EDIT: Just a little something for those who care which I didn’t add before because it took me so long to finish the transcription I just wanted to post it lol. The gender difference is noted in the related Dragon Magazine article as being significant. Non Drow may not notice but a Drow will notice the difference. Female names sometimes borrow parts that are normally only considered male and this is considered fine...but a male with a name that borrows a typically only female part would be seen as extremely taboo.

Oh wow! People are actually interested! That makes me so happy! :D Here it is (under the cut):
The first time Clark Kent met Captain Marvel, he was terrified.
He'd flown. Oh how he'd flown, higher than he'd ever been before.
Ma and Pa had told him to keep his feet on the ground, to stop gadding up in the clouds before he knew what he was doing, but the sky was just so blue and clear and really, he was only above the field without anyone around for MILES.
What could happen?
Apparently, getting caught in a storm and getting blown way off course into the mountains that's what.
And now he was flying nearly blind, rain lashing at his face and chilling him to the bone. Visibility was damn near nil with how heavy the clouds were and flashing periodically with lightning. And he couldn't drop down of them without possibly crashing into another craggy mountain top hidden out of sight.
Heavy winds swiped at him, trying to tear him out of the sky and Clark once had to perform a very shaky barrel roll out of the way of a flock of birds who didn't take kindly to a strange boy messing around where he shouldn't.
Shit, ma was going to kill him.
Another deafening rumble of thunder had him shaking his head trying to clear the sudden deafness, meaning he didn't notice a whit when the lightning bolt above struck him.
BOOM!
Screaming out in pain, Clark dropped like a stone.
He couldn't see.
He couldn't hear.
Everything B U R N E D.
Then.
Something slams into his side and what little breath is left in Clark's lungs is forced out of him from the impact.
Clark is peripherally aware he has stopped falling, but he's in a bit too much shock to register much else. He wheezes. His breaths are short and painful, each lungful taking far more effort than necessary.
He can feel his hair, heavy from the rain sticking to his forehead and neck, trailing icy water into his already sopping wet flannel shirt. Clark has never much been affected by the cold, but with how rattled he is, he's pretty sure he's freezing right now.
Can he even feel his fingers? No, not really, they're numb and slow and barely react to his commands. His toes too, which wriggle very little, if at all.
"Geeze Ka-Kid. You alright?" A man's voice says in concern somewhere above him.
But that couldn't be right. Clark was in the sky and no one was ever higher up than him here.
"Kid, hey, say something. You're kind of freaking me out now." The mysterious Not-Voice sounded worried.
Clark cracked open an eye.
Instead of still roiling clouds or hopefully, a patch of blue sky, a man with chisled features stared down at him.
"Kid?"
Clark nearly leapt from his arms, only, in his state, the most he could do was a particularly sodden wriggle.
"Y-you...You can fly!"
The man grins at him, all dimpled cheeks and a smile so sunny Clark half-expects to be rejuvenated.
"So can you kid. Though, that was more uh, falling than flying out there." The unknown manbteased lightly.
"Still, you look kinda rattled. Let's get you under the sun yeah?"
He swooped, making Clark's stomach dip strangely and suddenly they were shooting through the clouds and into blessed sunshine.

rating every state’s motto
alabama: “audemus jura nostra defendere”, trans. “we dare to defend our rights.” 4/10, not the worst but i don’t think it needs to be said. bit pretentious
alaska: “north to the future.” 7/10, i think it’s cool but i have no clue what it really means. higher points for not being religious (i think)
arizona: “ditat deus”, trans. “God enriches.” 0/10, keep that guy out of it
arkansas: “regnat populus,” trans. “the people rule.” 8/10, simple, love the idea, think it’s a great standing
california: “eureka”, trans. “I have found it.” 1/10, found WHAT???
colorado: “nil sine numine”, trans. “nothing without providence.” 0/10, i had to look up what this means and it is religious again
connecticut: “qui transtulit sustinet”, trans. “he who transplanted sustains.” -1/10, not only is this religious but it’s also not openly religious. pure evil
delaware: “liberty and independence.” 7/10, it’s boring, but it’s something
florida: “in God we trust.” 0/10, come on man
georgia: “wisdom, justice, moderation.” 6/10, sure
hawaii: “ua ma uke ea o ka ‘āina I ka pono,” trans. “the life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.” 10/10, yes!!! has something to do with their history!! it’s badass! makes me feel cool as hell to say!!
idaho: “esto perpetua”, trans. “let it be perpetual.” 1/10, it’s not religious and it is historical but i don’t like that it’s connected with the confederacy :/ (quoted from the president of the confederacy btw)
illinois: “state sovereignty, national union.” 0/10, directly associated with states’ rights to choose during the civil war
indiana: “the crossroads of america.” 7/10, i like that it’s more descriptive of the state than the government and it’s really funny to me that they identify like this. it’s like your friend doing something amazing and you going “you couldn’t have gotten there without me driving you to 7/11 that one time”
iowa: “our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain.” 6/10, i want to dislike this one because it’s so middle-of-the-road, but it does have some state history behind it (has to do with their fight to become a state) so it gets some points for that
kansas: “ad astra per aspera”, trans. “to the stars through difficulties.” 9/10, cool, connected to what they said about the state in its history, seemingly unreligious. point docked for it going to kansas and therefore being a bit pretentious more than anything
kentucky: “deo graham habeamus”, trans. “let us be grateful to God” AND “united we stand, divided we fall.” 0/10, why do they get TWO??? first one is religious, and the second one is unoriginal. if it were just the second one i would give it the benefit of the doubt but come on
louisiana: “union, justice, and confidence.” 4/10, i don’t think louisiana should be confident about anything but i do appreciate self-love
maine: “dirigo”, trans. “i direct.” 5/10, more than california because it’s slightly less confusing but i really don’t know what they mean by this
maryland: “fatti maschi, parole femmine”, trans. “strong deeds, gentle words.” 9/10, i fucking love this. i know very little of maryland so i’ll let them have this
massachusetts: “ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem”, trans. “by the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty.” 8/10, it’s sick as fuck but massachusetts is a bit pretentious just taking this shit from someone else with no reason
michigan: “si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumspice”, trans. “if you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you.” 9/10, this fucks. i love a motto dedicated just to the land. point docked because i do not feel the way this way when in michigan
minnesota: “l’étoile du nord”, trans. “the star of the north.” 7/10, cool that it acknowledges minnesota being the “northstar state” since it’s the northernmost state, but i don’t like that it’s in french. also kind of pretentious of us tbh
mississippi: “virtute et armis”, trans. “by valor and arms.” 2/10, cool if you’re a 7-year-old boy. if it’s based off the motto of lord gray de wilton they should’ve kept it “i trust in virtue not arms”
missouri: there are way too many states. anyway. “salus populi suprema lex esto”, trans. “the welfare of the people is the highest law.” 10/10, period!! i don’t think missouri stands by this tho
montana: “oro y plata”, trans. “gold and silver.” 6/10, i have to give it points for being a physical description of the state and also being historical (big mining state), but they really put all their coins in one bag with this one
nebraska: “equality before the law.” 10/10, apparently reflects nebraska’s “willingness to extend suffrage to black Americans” so it’s good state history and i love what it stands for. keep it up nebraska (i know you won’t)
nevada: “all for our country.” 5/10, really have any historical importance, and it’s a bit vague. what is it that you’re doing for “our country?” what does “all” imply? really think they just threw something together last minute
new hampshire: “live free or die.” 9/10, sick as fuck and grounded in history. iconic is an overused word, but i gotta say this is iconic. metal as hell. point docked because it’s too associated with some weird political standings now
new jersey: “liberty and prosperity.” 6/10, boring as hell but sure. whatever
new mexico: “crescit eundo”, trans. “it grows as it goes.” 9/10, quote taken from a poem which is cool and i love that it makes me think of dick :)
new york: “excelsior!”, trans. “ever upward!” AND “e pluribus unum”, trans. “out of many, one” (as of 2020). 6/10, i was with kinda with them on the first one even though it seems like something they added last minute because i liked the excitement in it but the second one is kind of dumb… yeah, i guess you are one of many. feels like an obvious statement they didn’t need to add on in 2020
north carolina: “esse quam videri”, trans. “to be, rather than to seem.” 4/10, i think it’s okay but i don’t know what it has to do with north carolina
north dakota: “liberty and union, now and forever, one and inseparable.” 6/10, cool reference to U.S. history but it’s kind of a mouthful and i don’t think i would be able to memorize it
ohio: “with God, all things are possible.” 1/10, one point given because it makes me think of the iasip quote
oklahoma: “labor omnia vincit”, trans. “hard work conquers all things.” 4/10, once again i like that it’s a reference, but i have no clue what oklahoma has to do with this motto
oregon: “alis volat propriis”, trans. “she flies with her own wings.” 7/10, “she” being oregon’s “independent spirit.” i think it’s a sick ass motto but oregon is thinkin of themselves too highly here
pennsylvania: “virtue, liberty, and independence.” 4/10, the lack of originality is getting tiring but i guess it shows some values or something
rhode island: “hope.” 2/10, are you even trying? come on
south carolina: “dum spiro spero”, trans. “while i breathe, i hope.” 6/10, it’s inspiring i guess but i seriously do not understand why this would be associated with south carolina. i swear i’m not an advertising major or anything
south dakota: “under God the people rule.” 0/10, we are OBSESSED with this guy here. WHY do we need states to be associated with religion
tennesse: “agriculture and commerce.” we’re coming to the very simple mottos now. 4/10, i feel it’s redundant but i guess it meant something to them when they made it
texas: “friendship.” 10/10, it’s basic and unoriginal but it’s so fucking funny that i have to give this one to them. i do NOT think of friendship when i think of texas
utah: “industry.” 1/10, what the hell is this? one point for not being religious but what the fuck
vermont: “stella quarta decima fulgeat”, trans. “may the 14th star shine bright” AND “freedom and unity.” 7/10, i like the first one because it directly references vermont but the second one is just unoriginal and sad. why have a motto if it’s gonna be like that
virginia: “sic semper tyrannis”, trans. “thus always to tyrants.” 7/10, sick as hell. three points deducted because it once again has nothing to do with virginia, but it really is a sick ass motto
washington: (unofficial) “al-ki”, trans. “bye and bye.” 10/10, very specifically refers to the history of washington, which was first called “new york alki”
west virginia: “montani semper liberi”, trans. “mountaineers are always free.” 9/10, i want to dislike this because it feels so unrelated, but i love it. i love what you have going on here, west virginia
wisconsin: “forward.” 1/10, seriously?
wyoming: “equal rights.” 9/10, similar to nebraska, this motto came about because wyoming was the first state to grant women the right to vote. apparently this was because granting women the right to vote would make them have enough voting citizens to be granted statehood though, so point deducted for that

Mai come in queste ore bisogna continuare a vigilare e a tenere accesi i riflettori.

Miért is?
Margitka a fájós lábával valahogy visszatántorgott a rendelőbe.
Ide is alig bírtam elvánszorogni. - Az mindegy. Nézze meg, itt a táblázat. Lejárt az ideje. - De Doktorkám! Elhoztam a testemet, elhoztam a fájós lábamat.
