Excel is like...... Fine. I guess. I think people misuse it a lot of the time. It's ideal for data you actually want to display as a table but people will chuck like...... Tens of thousands of time-series measurements into it and at that point what are you even doing, you know? You're well beyond the utility of the paper sheet metaphor.

I think its utilities for making figures are clunky, unintuitive, and slow to modify. I find most figures it produces are ugly as sin. It's literally incapable of a lot of things if I need to do pretty often.

"What would you say?" Gabi: she runs her fingers through her hair whenever she's thinking, leading it to stick out to all sides Laura: answered here ^^ Melike: she likes to make lists; to-do lists, lists of pros and cons, grocery lists, lists for everything! They keep a bullet journal in which they list each morning what her plans are for that day and brings it with her wherever she goes.

ek aur baar, hua kya I was in the bus, he was also there, but mujhe aane main thoda late hogaya tha so I had to stand in the bus, that guy, stood up and gave me his seat. I- I was speechless. And again him and I had that eye contact again and uhhhhhh I melted. he was so cute, probably he still is. ab toh bohot saal hogaye baat kiye hue lekin khuda ki marzi hai sab :)

(plus i was a really quiet kid, a really really quiet one, and I did not talk to anyone, not even him, group main sabse chup main hi rehti thi, bit still the eye contacts were enough. and he was the outgoung social type, sabse baat karni, saare dost the uske, he used to smile and laugh all the time, probably, uske liye dost banana aasaan hota hoga )

fir uske baad usne na school chhod diya, aur phir yaar usse baat hi nahi hui kabhi. I don't know how aur why I suddenly remembered him, but I did and so we are here.

ranking kaguya sama characters by their coding abilities/familiarity:

ishigami: he probably knows basic html from being super online all his life. has general education coding knowledge but probably understands it at a deeper level due to past experience. has the knowledge and expertise the average extremely online boy on a stem track. and he definitely has a bunch of failed attempts at making a game in rpgmaker or unity.

miko: knows a bit from general education and possibly an elective, but doesn't know much past writing simple if statements and for loops. just barely has enough knowledge to know what an object is. considers it a useful skill to some extent but doesn't really know enough that it'd be useful in any sense.

chika: you'd expect her to know little to none but i feel like maybe she has some strange esoteric knowledge from some linguistics/cog sci perspective. like one very specific spike of knowledge of one very specific use case. she's chika

kaguya: about the same as miko. i dont think she'd go out of her way to learn the skill but would be plenty good at it due to the way her mind works, just does not prioritize it.

shirogane: i know his ass has used matlab. theres definitely coding for astrophysics and im sure he's done some self study in that regard. i cant remember clearly but he's probably studying business in college rather than astrophysics but i can dream. maybe he's fintech related coding now or something. sigh. well my point is i think he definitely has background knowledge in mathematical modeling.

hayasaka: i think she definitely has more expertise on the hardware side of things. in general she definitely and like canonically has a ton of knowledge of networking and sniffing and things like that. extremely practical/useful skills. i think if you showed her a C function pointer though she might start running away

Today I:

slept for 4 hours

woke up at 6.30am (was two minutes late to 7am class)

had a proper breakfast

attended classes for Thermodynamics-II (exergy is such a self-explanatory topic and yet so weird too), Heat Transfer (convection is a cool topic, we only did very basic level stuff but i'm looking forward to the second half of the sem cause can't wait to study convective heat transfer)

had a tea, a coffee, and a slush to hydrate

made my Intro to MATLAB lab report

walked ~ 5k steps

napped for a hefty four hours in the afternoon because couldn't sleep at night (night owl things)

attended a lameass mandatory seminar around 9pm which really destroyed my mojo cause I had a good game plan for studying today and it's down the drain now.....

Exactly, people are not taking this seriously, this is like a joke to them, an opportunity to make memes (and while I understand that humour is used as a coping mechanism by people - myself included - blatant insensitivity does not equate to humour). They just want to go ahead and show their faux nationalism, put 'happy diwali neighbors' status, shout slogans while actively sabotaging the efforts of the armed forces by undermining actually important drills. genuinely finds the most joy in domesticity when he's doing it with you. he doesn't like competing with you in terms of work but he will make everything else a game and it's fun because you Let him. cooking becomes cooking mama and you're playing pokemon go on post-dinner walks and you always have to rinse off after doing the dishes because you got soap all over the place

ALSO he loves bitching about things with you. you will just sit with your matching cups and a lit candle and talk for hours about your day

i think he makes you Kind...... and you make him Brave. you give him the pushes he needs when he needs them. and after a long day when everything seems like Shit somehow he's always there to point out that silver lining :)

Matlab Game Engine Devlog

8/14/2024:

Defined the uitextfield and its callback in the START function instead of in the GameLoop

Defined Window.UserData and used waitfor() function to make the GameLoop wait until Enter key is pressed and input is received. 

Notes: It currently only takes text inputs. In the future, if I want it to take arrow key inputs or mouse click or anything else, I will have to define new callbacks.
