I see a lot of people upset about William Kaplan being dead and no one mourning him cus Billy stole his body and I just don't see it that way. The kid in Wanda Vision is Billy Maximoff, The teenager at the Bar Mitzvah is William Kaplan, the Teen that got taken to the hospital after the wreck is neither and both Billy Maximoff and William Kaplan. That Teen went home with the abilities of Billy Maximoff, to the home of William Kaplan, with memories of neither and lived there for three years. He cares about Rebecca and Jeff, he lied to the to protect them from pain, they are his parents. He wants to find Tommy, he has magical powers, he wants to know who he is. All of these things are true. I wouldn't say William Kaplan is dead he just doesn't remember, like Agatha wasn't dead when he was Agnes, she just didn't remember.

I find Oscar Isaac having played Steven as autistic especially fascinating to think about for one particular reason.

See the way autism works in a DID system is that if one alter is autistic then all of them should be autistic (although it may present differently). So, if Steven is autistic then so should Marc (and Jake but we've barely seen him so far so I'm not gonna talk about him). Oscar Isaac didn't say anything about Marc, so I'm guessing that he didn't know about this fact and didn't intend to play him as autistic.

But despite this... Marc does still actually come off as autistic.

Like it's clear that Oscar Issac played Marc as a guy suffering from PTSD and internalized ableism in regards to his DID to the point that he's now closing himself off. But it can also be interpreted as an autistic man who is burnt out and struggling to mask and is thus trying to close himself off and push everyone away.

I've been thinking a lot about my headcanons for how much Marc and Steven know about them being autistic.

I've seen some fanfics portray Marc as knowing he's autistic because he was actually diagnosed as a child, meanwhile Steven is completely in the dark about it.

And honestly I don't agree with this. Firstly, I personally don't think they're diagnosed autistic. Marc was born in 1987, so he grew up in the 90s. We all know this was back when everyone had a narrow idea of what autism looks like and thought that only white boys could be autistic. So, yeah I doubt that Marc would've gotten a diagnosis as a child.

I especially doubt he would've gotten one after his brother died. Because aside from physically and verbally abusing him, it seems like Marc's mom was basically not in his life. I doubt Wendy even bothered to take Marc to regular doctor's appointments. And it seems like Marc's dad, Elias, just tried to ignore that there were any problems within their family. The show gave us that memory of teen Marc calling out and asking Elias why he never bothered to get help for Wendy and try to fix things. So yeah, I doubt that Elias would've even fully entertained the idea that Marc is autistic.

And as for adult Marc. I mean, come on guys. Marc literally hated himself for being mentally ill, I doubt he'd want to explore what other fun things might be going on in his brain.

So yeah I don't think that Marc truly knows he's autistic. But Steven, in my opinion, is a different case.

I like to think that Steven just googled some shit like "why do I come off as socially awkward?", stumbled upon some sources about autism and was like "oh wait, is this me?". He can't afford to get a diagnosis, so he just spent weeks doing his own research while constantly second guessing himself by thinking, "does this really describe me or am I just over thinking it?", before eventually concluding "ok I'm not crazy, I definitely am autistic. Good thing to know I guess."

Tried using a paper texture this time and I really like how the coloring becomes smoother and more watercolor like bc of it, I think I'll use this more often from now on. Just looks more painterly and less flat.
