Mel grins into her coffee cup, listening to her boyfriend bicker with his twin sister. Their schedules had, for once, lined up perfectly. A lovely lazy Saturday. The twins had insisted Mel watch the same cartoons they had…leading into a disagreement about the first show for her to watch.

Mel should be annoyed at their bickering, telling them it doesn’t matter…but she isn’t. If anything, it makes her relax more, pressing into Donny’s side on their couch.

“Mels?” Donny gestures to the TV, showing a cartoon spaceship, “If we put on the Jetsons, are you going point out all the timeline flaws?”

Snorting, she smacks him with a throw pillow, “I point out the documented evidence of nanny bot malfunctions one time!”

“Three times!” Dawn teases, ducking as Mel swings the pillow at her. “What else did she say, Donny? Something about Pods?”

“‘I need a pod on C++ for a project, why did you hand me coffee?”Donny mimics his girlfriend’s voice, even plays with fake curls around his head.

“You, sir, are going to end up on this couch alone.” She warns. But the threat doesn’t reach her beautiful dark eyes. He can drive her as insane as he wants and she’ll come back for more. “Besides, I’m not the creepy old man dating someone a Millenium younger than them—”

“You’re always welcome to try the other make, Mel,” Dawn teases with a wink.

Shrieks fill the room as Donny takes the pillow, whacking both girls with it.

hi so if you remember me I mentioned a long time ago I wanted to work on a Meloni x Don origins fic about them meeting getting together all the way up until the end since we never got a proper story, well after chipping away at it for a while I’m almost done with a prologue/pilot(? Pilot seems more accurate) chapter! I’ll end up releasing at some point but I wanted tp get some general feelss about how you would be willing to read this or more chapters

(there’s no I wouldn’t read it or consume anything about it cause that’s not what I’m looking for here)

Okay so I did watch the latest Flash episode (I won’t be watching every episode, but I was excited for this one)...and I loved it!

The Bart & Nora shenanigans! The time travel! Nora being a mentor for Bart! I love every appearance of this new Nora and how she’s acting her age this time around 🥰

I also really love Bart x Avery 👀 time travel romance for the win! I will say though...I don’t really think they can make them a long-lasting couple unless she time travels to the future to be with him. Which she probably won’t, given her important research 😂

Hi if it’s okay, I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind doing some headcanons about what it’s Bart when his parents eventually are dating/meet and what that’s like for him? totally fine if not though!

Absolutely! I love hc requests, and I sadly do not get a lot of them. Seeing this in my inbox was quite a treat!

At first, Bart freaked out

Don came home one day from school and mentioned that he’d met a cute girl, and wanted to ask her out to the homecoming dance

Iris pressed for a name and when Don said “Meloni” Bart just about passed out

He didn’t know whether or not to tell anyone that Don had just met his mother

He didn’t want to mess up the timeline anymore than he already has (and potentially prevent his own birth)

On the night of the dance, Don picked up Meloni and took her back to his house so she could meet Barry and Iris

When Bart sees her, he almost starts crying because he misses his mom so much

Bart might hug Meloni for just a little too long

While Don and Meloni are at the dance, Bart confesses to his grandparents that Don just met his mom

Cue excited freakouts from Barry and Iris

Dawn threatens to spill the secret

It takes several threats to keep her quiet

Don brings home a bunch of photos from the dance

Iris starts a new photo album with them

The whole time Don and Meloni are dating, no one spills the secret

It’s only when Don proposes to Meloni that Dawn opens her big mouth and asks how soon they plan on making Bart

Bart gets really flustered and embarrassed at that

Don and Bart have a few very awkward conversations about it

Bart eventually just says that he really doesn’t want the details, and just leaves it at that

Bart is Don’s best man at the wedding

When Meloni announces that she is pregnant, Bart has a massive freak out

Because, can two of him exist in the same timeline? What will happen to him? What will happen to baby him?

Bart is very hesitant about meeting the baby version of himself

When he and baby Bart touch for the first time, they create a paradox

Bart gets flashes of how baby him will grow up, and is happy that he was able to create a timeline where a version of himself gets to live a normal childhood

Bart makes it his mission to be a role model for the baby version of himself

Lol. I took it a little further than just Don and Meloni meeting/dating, but these are all of my head canons about what happens. For the most part, I think Bart feels kind of awkward, but he eventually gets used to it. He just really misses his mom, and is happy he gets to see her again. He is baby Bart’s role model, and has made it his mission to make sure baby Bart gets the happy childhood he never had for himself.

Do you have any headcannons about Meloni and Don

Not many, but I do have a few:

They fall in love very quickly, they’re into each other from the get go, Don asks Meloni out not long after they first meet, and quick fits a lot of their relationship milestones

The one thing quick doesn’t fit is Don actually telling anyone he’s met someone, he’s not sure how his family will react to Meloni being a Thawne, but Iris notices something’s up and goes to talk to him and reassures him

Their wedding is small, just Iris, Dawn, Jeven, and a tiny baby Jenni, Dawn is Meloni’s Maid of Honour, and Jeven is Don’s Best Man

Meloni gets on really well with the West-Allen-Ognats family, and she can be just as reckless as Dawn is and Don pretends he isn’t but he is, so she fits in right away (the only person in this family who always thinks things through is Jeven)

Meloni’s a couple of years older than Don, but only two or three, and they’re both in about their mid-twenties when they meet

Specifically for the arrowverse instead of anyone being from the future, Meloni is Eddie’s niece (she’s born after he dies in canon, but in the Eobard didn’t screw things up timeline she loved her Uncle Eddie very much)

What are some of Donny’s insecurities? I know you’ve talked about the trauma and vulnerabilities of most of your characters, but I’m pretty sure you haven’t talked about his as much.

Hello! 

In all honesty, Donny is a character that I love, but his story and Mel’s typically go hand in hand. So lots of fluffy, shippy stuff with them (which I love writing!). What angsty stuff I have written has heavily focused on Mel because I had to do way more character building with her. 

However, I have thought about what makes him tick. Mainly because it’s fun.

Donny has a lot of identity issues. That’s his biggest thing. He’s a twin, he and Dawn have really similar names, his dad is the Flash, in the field he’s ‘one of the tornado twins’--- from a really young age, part of Donny never felt like he had his own name. He was always a part of a duo or group. Dawn-and-Donny. The West-Allens.

He pushes back in small ways--mainly the fact he only goes by Donny. Not Don or Donovan. Donny is his little sliver of individuality. 

Bart arriving added to that identity loss. Bart has this idea/version of who Donny grows up to be. Even being careful, Donny feels this pressure to live up to the man that Bart grew up with. Which is a lot for a 16 year old. 

He has so much anxiety about making the right choices--but how does he know if the choices are right if Bart can’t tell him anything.

That’s kinda why I love writing him with Mel. They see each other as Donny and Mel, not Donovan and Meloni. Not Allen and Thawne. They both get to be who they want to be around each other, they ground each other in the best ways. There’s still arguments and disagreements. But at the end of the day, he loves her with everything he has.

This is just answering @thesporklecat ‘s question about ships:

So the broad answer is, I don’t know fully. I think some of the canon pairings with some of these characters are cute and some of the fanon ones are cool too (I’m not a huge fan of Kon x Cassie as an endgame, I know Cissie and Bart had a thing for a little while, I like timsteph and timkon tbh) So like, I’m just not really sure. I do know that long term on Steph’s team Don ends up with Meloni (as it wouldn’t make sense for Bart’s parents to not be together) and Chris ends up with Thara Al-Vak. Virgil would date Raquel for a least some time, and I think Tim and Steph would date at some point, Bart and Cissie have a thing but idk if they end up dating/actually stay together, Cassie would date Kon for a little while, but I think they would break up, she also has that thing with Tim at one point, but they don’t really officially date.

So to answer briefly, I have no idea. I do know some people date, but I don’t know if they stay together and all that, but Chris x Thara stay together and so do Don x Meloni, and I hc Dawn as lesbian, but I think she could end up with a version of Jeven Ognats, but just female.
