62 years ago today on May 15, 1963, astronaut Gordon Cooper lifted off in the Faith 7 capsule on the final mission of the Mercury program, Mercury-Atlas 9. Faith 7 now hangs in a gallery at Space Center Houston, where I shot this photo. The effect was achieved by zooming while shooting at a slow shutter speed, handheld, Nikon D90, 18-200.

The final flight of the Mercury program, Mercury-Atlas 9, launched on this day in history in 1963. Carrying L. Gordon "Gordo" Cooper aboard the spacecraft Faith 7, the flight was a 34-hour marathon test of the endurance of both man and spacecraft.

If you really think about it, Salem already lost.

Humanity is basically united because of Ruby. Even if Salem gets all four relics, the gods will see that humanity is united to fight her.

i can see why you'd come to that conclusion, but you're wrong

first off, huge underestimation of Salem's ability to manipulate and divide people - we've already seen Tyrian and Mercury recruiting the leaders of the Crown in the epilogue

and secondly, on that point - humanity isn't united against Salem. the leaders, the huntsmen and huntresses, sure. but the civilians? scared and frightened refugees having lost their homes, having to hole up in a hostile desert, whose own civilians either hate them for plundering and looting their nation until they were left with an inhospitable wasteland (Atlas and Mistral), or resent them because the King of Vale allied with them to win the war then dismantled their monarchy, instituted the current useless system and left them in the aforementioned inhospitable wasteland to fend for themselves (and then elevated Atlas into the sky like a pat on the back for better luck next time they try to take over the world). the Crown's gonna garner a lot of support just based on that, we've already seen the tensions there in the epilogue

and thirdly, Salem's not alone - even excepting the Crown for the possibility that at least some of that mess might break away (Gillian is at least reasonable and Jax has limited use without an Aura well to draw from), Salem's got Tyrian and Cinder still on side even if Mercury's wavering

because finally, remember who you're talking about. the gods are shown to be petty and vindictive assholes - they're not gonna be satisfied with 'good enough, you got 98% of what's left of humanity on side after everyone who disagreed with you was either killed or arrested.' they're gonna be pedantic, it has to be everyone. which is kind of a problem because you can't unite 100% of humanity against Salem because there's always going to be 1 human who isn't, and that's Salem herself (because yeah, she's gonna count)

Salem's immortality comes with some very specific caveats re: understanding the balance of life, and the brothers would absolutely use her 'not learning her lesson' (a lesson volume 9 establishes that even they don't fucking understand) as a reason to torch the planet and leave Salem on the chunks of rock left spinning in space afterwards

while the gods absolutely have to be summoned and dealt with (Oz doesn't get to die forever until they come back per the specific caveats of his immortality), them coming back at all is still a no-win scenario if you're playing by their rules because uniting humanity is an outright impossible thing to achieve (and achieving that impossible only nets you the reward of living under the threat of another divine tantrum)

Season 03, Episode 09: PvP

- Let the devastation begin.

- "The shining light will sink in darkness."

- Ozpin is a watching the fight about to unfold from his mechanical lair.

- Penny is being her sweet self. She considers it an honour to meet Pyrrha. 😭

- Pyrrha is so out of it. Am so scared.

- Ruby and Mercury. I get he must have had his reasons, but right now I don't like the guy. Ruby, run back!!!

- Fucking Ironwood.

- Ren and Nora cheering! Jaune is nervous. ✨

- Emerald. 😡

- I have noticed this before and perhaps forgot to mention it, but I love how Penny's blades have the on/off button at the hilt. It's cute! Very on theme.

- Pyrrha and her have begun fighting now. 😶‍🌫️

- Ruby turned into a missile that Mercury kicked away. Shite.

- He shot at her scroll. Some fucking "friends" they are.

- Penny is doing well. But for how long... 🥺

- Emerald is playing with Pyrrha's head. Good Gods. This is hurting me so much already.

- Mercury and Ruby at it still. YASSSSSSSS! Ruby is getting away.

- Penny's here to win it. Pyrrha's mind is being tampered with. AGHHHHHHHHH. A few blades have turned into too many.

- Penny was dismembered by her own strings. That blade of hers getting her dress piece was like a nail on the coffin. I am a little dead right now.

- They are actually showing the parts. Oh Gods. It's all machinary. People are horrified. Penny's pupils dilated. Fuck. Fuck

- Grimm monsters. Ruby sees Penny. She is crying. I think I am going numb.

- Mercury's happy about a job well done. I feel like punching a wall.

- The broadcast has been compromised. The queen chess pawn with a red background.

- WoWie. Even though I don't like Cinder, I must hand it to her. Great plan to bring down both Ironwood and Ozpin.

- A silver lining. ZWEI!!!! He is with Yang.

- Cinder is speaking. Ozpin is strangely calm and watching a ship come in behind him.

- Grimm have begun their invasion.

- "When the first shots are fired... Who do you think you can trust?" -Cinder. With the way our world is going, all this manipulation and the dialogue really came out here and attacked me...

- Jammed feeds. One of Junior's henchmen is also in the audience with popcorn. I don't know why that made me smile. But I needed it. Also, getting a weird sense of deja vu.

- Alarms are ringing. Threat level 9.

- "Please seek shelter in a calm and orderly manner." Cue to everyone screaming, crying, throwing up...

- Ironwood's gentle reminder to not panic has been interrupted by a Nevermore Grimm. Such good times.

- Kingdom's defences were breached? Ren seems to think so. He smort. I trust him. Does that explain the ships?

- Qrow and Glynda have come to Ozpin. He wants them to get to the city. They are reluctant but leave. Is Oz going to have a one on one showdown with someone soon?

- The Grimm of old are moving. The great migration. Trading in a concrete jungle for a high tech one.

- Whoever does the voice for Ozpin, when he talked to Ironwood asking him to use his army... Chills!!! Great job there!!!

- Holy hells. An entire unit of Atlas soldiers is down. Neo is in the house. She has two umbrellas?

- Ohhhhh. It's just Torchwick's stuff.

- Oh no no no no no. No. They are now commandeering a whole ship and bringing down the ones around... This is going just peachy, I say with clenched teeth.

- Fucking Adam and White Fang.

- Did they just give Grimm a ride in the ships??!?!??

- End credits. Penny's blueprints. The sketch for the flying machine looks incredible! Torchwick and his console of wreaking destruction. So much work has gone into scenes that only last less than a minute quite often. Hats off to the team!!!! Penny and her sketch with her weapons... I am sad. But since she is an Android, am sure she will be back!!!!! Will she remember everything though? I hope they kept backups. Nevermore Grimm sketches. I didn't realise they were inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's work! Was extremely confused about the Grimm of it all too initially. Thankfully the assumption of them being named after the Grimm brothers was right! The music playing right now reminds me of choirs and plays where they use sounds like this to mark a tragedy.

Season 03, Episode 10: Battle of Beacon

- Am not ready to be destroyed further. But that won't stop me now.

- "Victory for hate incarnate."

- Grimm are attacking. People are fighting. It's the cafeteria grounds for the arena.

- Blake and Weiss. Yang be running through the dorms of Beacon with Zwei. No matrons there to ban running through the halls? 😆

- Blake and her are checking up on one another!!! 💖

- Ruby ain't answering her scroll. Yang is obviously worried. Blake is trying to placate her.

- Cue running again.

- Weiss is sad over Penny. So be Blake. And moi.

- Yang just informed them of how the White Fang's releasing Grimm into the school. Blake is focusing on the detail. Should I be terrified?

- Yang has entered the fight. Left the call.

- Blake and Weiss are about to do their jobs. Thank Gods for locker launchers!!!

- Nevermore Grimm is still trying to get into the stadium. Ruby is shell shocked and right where we left her. They are just kids...

- Pyrrha. Staring at the wreckage of Penny. Good Gods. How long has she been doing that?

- Jaune is screaming himself hoarse asking her to move. I could actually feel the ensuing sore throat. Nice voice acting!!!

- He has left the stands and is now running towards Pyrrha. ❤️‍🔥

- Nevermore Grimm has entered the chat. And sent Penny's body parts, Pyrrha and Jaune flying.

- Incoming attack from the Grimm. Pyrrha, get away!!! Oh thank GODS.

- Many many many locker launchers have brought down the Nevermore. Gotta love them!!!

- Good people are still around. That's why the world is still spinning. Gods I miss Penelope Park.

- Oh my Gods. His entire battle was difficult for me to watch. Not because I dislike him, but it's just too reminiscent of stuff I have had to witness on TV ever since I could operate it. Very well animated at least!!!

- Young hunters meet Ironwood. He is explaining the current status of the situation. YAYYYYYY! They are now aware of what's going on.

- Holy shite. This guy is being all badass but I can only cringe for reasons that have nothing to do with him. Ugh. Hate when that happens.

- Bet what these young hunters and huntresses choose between saving their own arse and that of everyone else's...

- Torchwick is having a blast. Pun intended. 😆. The chesspiece is in the mainframe of the ship... Does that mean they can now control the synthetic army?

- Yup. Glynda and Qrow are with some of them. The tech has turned. Blake and Weiss are being shot at too.

- Holy SHITE. Ironwood has been compromised by his own army. Does he make it?

- Ruby is about to ride the skies with a locker launcher. I love her.

- She has landed on Roman's ship. I am a little worried.

- Weiss is fighting robots. Blake is battling the White Fang. I love how they are both going against pillars of their communities. The symbolism of it all... 🤌🏻

- Adam and Blake have seen one another. I am SCARED. Blake looks to be as well. Also, did this guy just kill an Atlas soldier?! That was extremely unnecessary.

- Things are about to get so much worse. As if they weren't already.

- Dragon Grimm has entered the chat.

- Griffon Grimms are descending as well. Ruby is fighting one!

- Slash and Neo's camera flash. Torchwick knows who be here.

- Adam and Blake. She looks so scared... This fucker is about to murder a student?!

- Yang is down. Adam wants to finish the job. Blake is between them now.

Season 03, Episode 12: End of the Beginning

- What is happiness? I don't know her.

- Huh. I think this is RWBY's first half an hour long form episode. I am quaking in my non-existent boots.

- "When it falls..."

- Cinder has turned into fireworks? Katy Perry called it... 😆😭

- Ohhhh. It's her fight with Ozpin. The guy is actually holding his own! YAYYYYYY!!!

- Mandatory evacuation to a safe-zone in Vale. Atlas personnel will guide them.

- Zwei is here. ✨

- Finally. Ruby and Weiss have met up. This is going to hurt.

- Yang and Blake are down. Ren and Nora don't seem to be doing much better.

- Oh my Gods. Blake can't stop apologising. Fuck.

- Okie. Ruby's call to her sister broke me a little.

- Jaune and Pyrrha haven't gotten there yet?!

- Dragon Grimm is circling. White Fang are retreating. Ren and Nora are in no condition to do anything. Ruby is saying she will find Jaune and Pyrrha and bring them back... Oh no.

- Weiss is joining her. 🥹

- Shield vs arrow. Arrow breaks but is put back together. Fuck glass.

- "Do you believe in destiny?" Stop. Please.

- Struck right in front of Ruby. CINDER FUCKING DISINTEGRATES HER?!?????????!!!??

- Also, maybe this is too callous to think in such a way, but I have a theory that when Yang and Ruby went out in search of Yang's mum... Qrow was following them all along. Am pretty sure the entire thing was orchestrated. They were led there to see if Ruby will unleash her powers early, mayhaps.

- Yang has sunflowers in her room. She looks so different without her energetic emotions and smile. This is the worst.

- Weiss had to leave with her father?!

- Oh shite. Atlas is in extreme hot water and was framed well. Do they even have a PR team?

- Blake ran. Oh fuck. I can't even blame her though.

- "...And I don't care." -Yang. I think she is facing the exact opposite problem. But yeah. Everything is in smithereens.

- From fall to winter. That weather transition was nice.

- I just realised something. Ruby's room has two beds. Am pretty sure one is for Yang, what with the yellow pillows. But she is staying in another room. This is heartbreaking in a different way now.

- Jaune's here! And yup. Haven is the next stop.

- Awwwwwww!!!! Nora and Ren are going too. Team JNR without P looks almost uncanny. It's jarring. At least they have Ruby.

- Is this voiceover from the same lady from back in volume one? Commenting on hope and snuffing it out and dividing mankind? Is she talking to Ozpin?

- Grimm are congregating near Beacon. Glynda can only fix so much. She be tired. Blake's being a ninja. Alone. Weiss is with her father in a jet. Ruby bid goodbye to her mum's memorial plaque and is off with Team JNR. My autocorrect doesn't know Pyrrha has passed away. I didn't want to know either. 😭

- "This is the beginning of the end, Ozpin." So this is Salem. And she has him... Funny how the name of the episode is "End of the Beginning."

- She wants to watch Oz burn... Salem has pyromaniac tendencies then. Good to know.

- Qrow is keeping tabs on Ruby and co from afar. Of course he planted the idea. He has Ozpin's sword?

- QROW CAN TURN INTO A CROW?!?!??!??

RWBY Volume 9 Epilogue: The Five Stages of Grief Again

As @greenteaandtattoos's friend noticed, volume 9 epilogue has its five narrators embody the five stages of grief:

Negation - refusal to aknowledge the truth, while clinging to a preferable reality.

Anger - lashing out on others in an attempt to channel one's pain and frustration.

Bargaining - being ready to negotiate, to give something in order to avoid loss. When death already happened, it is about exploring what ifs scenarios.

Depression - sadness, desperation and refusal to engage with others. It often comes with low energy.

Acceptance - coming to terms with one's loss and finding a new stability.

This isn't surprising, as volume 9 as a whole uses this motif. In particular, Ruby herself goes through the 5 stages twice. First to grieve over Penny and then to face her emotions towards Summer. Finally, RWBYJN reach acceptance (the main theme). Acceptance of death, loss, pain, change and of themselves. All in all, RWBYJ's journey in the Ever after is a metaphor for the process of grieving. Well, the epilogue shows us how the other characters have been dealing with this emotion.

So, here comes NORWQ as the 5 stages of grief:

Nora = anger: tbf she is the most difficult to pintpoint, as she fits the pattern less than others. Still, her section focuses on how Vacuans and Atlesians are both reacting with anger at the new status quo. Vacuans are frustrated that Atlas brought its own problems into their Kingdom. Atlesians are furious nobody came to help them. Nora herself enters into a short confrontation with two angry Vacuans and clearly projects her own past into the conflict. What's wrong with orphans? What's wrong with her?

Oscar = negation: our Little Prince is the only one that believes Ruby and the others might be alive. He even looks for an answers into books (mirroring how RWBYJ is grieving through a fairy tale). On a personal level, he and Ozpin are both fighting the merge, so they are negating a transformation, which is bound to happen.

Ren = bargaining: Lotus boy is trying to replace Jaune as the glue who keeps the team together. He is conscious of everyone's feelings and problems, but is not sure on how to handle them. Moreover, his section deals with how Salem's faction goes through a bargain. Sure, it lost some people in Atlas, but Tyrian and Mercury free the Crown, so that new forces are ready to fight for the Evil Witch of the West.

Winter = depression: our Winter Maiden is dealing very very badly with Penny and Weiss's lost. She blames herself for everything and is far away from accepting Penny's final teaching: "I won't be gone, I will be a part of you". Winter is struggling to honor both Penny and Weiss's legacy. If anything, she feels she isn't the right person to do so. Her section is also the most somber on a macrochosm level. As a matter of fact through her we discover Vale was destroyed by Salem and we see how the refugees are not handling their new situation well.

Qrow = acceptance: Qrow is Winter's opposite, as he is the closest to find acceptance. On a personal level, he shows he has integrated with Clover. He has embraced his friend's optimism and has learnt to love himself through him. This is why his semblance evolved and he is now able to bring both good and bad luck. This new found balance lets him find hope even in the bad situation the world is in. He sees how people are showing kindness and realizes Ruby's message is the first step into uniting Remnant.

Of course, our five narrators all foil each other in different ways. I have discussed Qrow and Winter here, so let's see what to say about Nora, Ren and Oscar.

RENORA = LONELY TOGETHER

Nora and Ren are going through an inversion of their dynamic. Nora is now repressing her feelings and avoiding Ren's attentions and offers of support. Ren instead is grieving openly and is trying to be open with his feelings.

Nora isn't even able to speak directly with the person she lost, but narrates talking to no-one in particular. She mostly speaks about the macrochosm and uses plural forms. "We buried our friends", "I think everyone lost someone that day", "For us it was a relief, but for the Vacuans", ""What if we can't go on, what if we are too scarred?". She is in a sense the embodyment of everyone's grief. At the same time, she is so disconnected from her own trauma, that she can only read it while projecting it on the world:

Ren: Nora, she is putting the world on her shoulders.

Ren instead is the one more focused on the feelings of the people around him. Through his point of view, we discover how the other main characters are doing. We realize Nora is too focused on the macrochosm, while Oscar has trouble with the microchosm (he just isn't himself). Ren is trying to balance out the two dimensions. He is grieving for Jaune and is inheriting his legacy. At the same time, he understands that just like his friends are fighting to overcome anger and pain, so is the world. By doing this, he once again draws a parallel between Nora and the World:

I think the epilogue of volume 9 (or the prologue of volume 10?) sets up Nora as a strong symbolic character in Vacuo. She is Vacuo itself, struggling with pain, grief and anger. She is Atlesian orphans, nameless children too scarred to go on. Ren's role will probably be to step in and remind her how beautiful she is.

OSCAR = STAGNATION

Oscar's conflict permeates both the microchom and the macrochosm. It is synthesized by this phrase:

Oscar: "You always believed in the best. You saw people for who they really were. Some of us don't know anymore."

Here, Oscar is speaking both:

Of himself, who is slowly and painfully merging with Ozpin

Of the world, which finds itself in "uncharted territory"

Oscar is uncertain. Of who he is. Of what to do. So, he looks up to Ruby, who was always certain and could "see the world through better eyes".

At the same time, Oscar's situation strongly suggests he is stagnating. He refuses to accept RWBYJ's death (he is right, but it isn't a healthy reaction). He fights the merge unsuccessfully. He can neither go back to the person he was before nor can he progress towards a better version of himself. Basically, just as Ruby is finding the path back to herself in the Ever After, Oscar is losing himself in Vacuo. This is (just like in Renora's case) an inversion to their previous dynamic. Back in Atlas, Oscar was the one progressing, whereas Ruby was stagnating. Right now, they start their stories in Vacuo in an inversed situation.

OTHER POSSIBLE FOILINGS

Of course, the epilogue/prologue offers several possible foilings that could be explored in volume 10. Here are some (but they aren't all).

Ren and Winter are both talking to the "sibling" they entered a conflict with in volume 8. Both grew distant from Jaune and Weiss, only to reconcile later on. Now, they realize how much Jaune and Weiss did to keep their respective families together. They celebrate their legacies and wonder if they might be able to live up to it. This might also foreshadow some foiling of Jaune and Weiss themselves, once they come back.

Qrow and Oscar are both talking to Ruby (to be fair, Qrow speaks to everyone, but thematically Ruby is her interlocutor). However, Qrow has managed to integrate (with Clover), while Oscar fights integration (with Ozpin (understandably so)). At the same time, Qrow focuses on how Ruby has changed the world, whereas Oscar focuses on how Ruby has changed him.

Nora and Qrow open and end the epilogue. Nora is the one who struggles to grieve the most (she is the only one who never visits the memorial, after the cerimony). She insists she must move on, but also wonders if she will ever be able to. Qrow instead is the one who deals the best with the situation. He finds serenity while at the memorial and grieves in a hopeful way thanks to the murales realized by the community. Both are very involved with helping people and the refugees. Nora is shown helping children and states she wants to help Velvet before eating herself. Qrow keeps going into meetings with Theodore, he spends time with Robyn and the kids and helps the Schnees giving out free food. Still, Nora is clearly wearing herself out, whereas Qrow genuinelly finds hope and energy. Nora is symbolically one of the orphans trying to carry the world. Qrow is instead a mentor, who has learnt he doesn't have to face the world alone.

OTHER THOUGHTS

Happy to see the Crown. I think Jill and Jax have the potential to foil Emercury to an extent, so I am happy to see them (it's them, right?) with Merc. It is also something I had always thought that Tyrian and Mercury's mission to Vacuo might have been to find some new allies there. The Crown were the obvious choice.

I feel neutral about team CFVY appearing so much in the epilogue. My guess is that they are set up to be minor foils to RWBY, kind of like the Happy Huntresses and the Ace Ops were in Atlas. I think the books give them enough set-up to solve their arc in a quick way, while commenting on those of the main characters.

I was surprised about the revelation of Salem attacking Vale. I wonder if she found the crown. I doubt it, so far and I think Glynda missing is clearly set-up as a future plot-point. In any case, we'll see. I am open to everything.

I've been listening to the After the Fall and Before the Dawn audiobooks, the ones that feature team CFVY and team SSSN in Vacuo, with a few flashbacks to Beacon days.

Some of my thoughts:

While I have read better RWBY fanfic, I thought they were still good books, with some great moments.

I loved the handling of team CFVY, especially Velvet and Yatsuhashi as dedicated partners. Coco and Fox, and Coco and Velvet are great too, and the whole team dynamics as well. They were all fleshed out well.

I'm a bit confused why Mistral is considered more racist against faunus than Atlas. I know there were 'no faunus' signs in Mistral, but I have a vague recollection that it's not the only place with that sort of bigotry. That and the headmaster of Haven in Mistral was a faunus. If it was the worst place in Remnant for faunus, how'd Lionheart end up as headmaster?

I loved the flashbacks that included team RWBY, even if the narrator made Ruby far too squeaky (on the whole the narrator did a good job with everyone though). I just wish there could've been some in Before the Dawn as well as After the Fall.

Sun started out more annoying than I remember him being in the show, which made it satisfying seeing him taken to task for abandoning his team. I am grateful for the help he gave the Belladonnas, but his team certainly have a right to resent him for leaving them. More than once at that, with how he doesn't travel with them to Beacon in Volume 1.

Funniest line for me: Scarlet's POV when hoping Sun doesn't hurt himself by thinking too hard. To be clear: I don't hate Sun. Scarlet being snarky and salty was just fun for me to read.

Fox and Yatsu coming close to torturing information out of Neptune using his fear of water against him made me wince, but it also made sense. Velvet matters so much to them.

It's also kind of funny to me how Sun did what Ruby did in Volume 8 with the message to everyone with a scroll, if on a smaller scale, localised to Vacuo. Which means that Sun is about as famous to Vacuans as Ruby is to Remnant. He also did good with that message, inspiring ordinary citizens to join in the fight against the Crown.

Yatsu saved the day more than anyone, although it was very much a group effort. Having to use his Semblance so much when he hates using it can't have been easy on him.

I do like Sun's growth, and how he finally talked to his team, with the rift being healed (or at least well on the way there).

With the Volume 9 epilogue showing Gillian and Jax Asturias escaping prison, no thanks to Tyrian and Mercury, we definitely haven't seen the last of them. And the thought of their Semblances at Salem's disposal is rather worrying. Not to mention that it'd be so much harder to deal with Jax's Semblance if Yatsu was killed. I'd really rather that didn't happen, he's tied with Velvet for my fav out of team CFVY.

With any Gillian and Jax would both turn on Salem eventually if they think she'd do too much harm to their kingdom, but the problem is getting them to realise the danger.

It's not going to be fun for Jaune to meet a Jackalope Grimm after Volume 9. I mean, by the sounds of it no Grimm are fun to meet, but especially that sort for him after spending so long with Juniper in the Ever After.

How I think changes are represented regarding team RWBY, JNPR, STRQ

Team RWBY- Outfit's colour pallets

Volume 2 outfits won't be in here cause I think that's a whole different problem

Ruby Rose

-Beacon Arc: Red and Black, this is the start, nothing much to say

-Mistral Arc- Atlas Arc: Add white, her mother colour, this may be because she start to follow her footsteps, do what her mother did, because she believes her mother is the perfect Huntress she needs to becomes

-Prediction: In Volume 10 she will have less white?

Weiss Schnee

-Beacon Arc- The Schnee's colour is white- it represents snow, ice, cold- and her outfit has cold blue, she got away from the coldness of her family, the ice is slowly melt

-Volume 4-5: The blue is now dominate the white, I also think this blue is...bluer than the Beacon Arc's blue, the impact her friends had left on her is so strong the ice still continue to melt even when she's back home even though it's dull and lifeless but BUT

-Volume 6: I never notice this detail until I started to think about all of this. The RED scalf, she didn't have it in Vol.4-5 because she was at home, she was under Jaques' thump again Whitley is too every time we see him he still not refuse Jaquess no red no RED on him. At the start of Vol.6 she's backs with her friends, her teammates HER FAMILY. Wow that made me kinda emotional, anyway enough rambling

-Atlas Arc: Even if she's back 'house' she's still with her real family so she still has that red on her and the blue now is more like ocean too

Blake Belladonna

-Beacon Arc: White, black and a hint of purple. At this point in time her dominant colour is black because she still in her 'From Shadow' phase *wink wink*

-Mistral Arc: This is a, kinda, special situation. Noticeably, Blake adds purple- her Aura colour- to the outfit, still not sure what this means though. But that not all, before Blake had the black to cover the white part of her outfit, but now it's the opposite, you can say she is wrapped in purity.

-Atlas Arc: Another thing to consider is the black on her outfit slowly shift into dark purple/violet-> she slowly step out of the shadow and become her real self. So the black-ish/purple-ish, maybe the black is the White Fang and after Blake's arc in Vol.4-5 it now wraps around her with the white?

Yang Xiao Long

-Beacon Arc: This is a bit hard; Yang colours, as this post points out, are brassy yellow (most likely her hair), orche, brown and black. Here's the problem, her palette doesn't change at all except in Vol.4

-Volume 4: She still has all the colour but is wrapped in grey (Mercury's colour, maybe) and if I'm right, gold can be dissolved by mercury, so that's how her defeated state is represent. Note: when she gets back on her feets, the jacket is gone

-Volume 5- Atlas Arc: The only thing I can say about her changes is that she's no longer the thrill seeker she was at Beacon and has more practical outfit choice

Team JNPR- Weapons

Jaune Arc

-Beacon Arc: Crocea Mors-The hand down weapon of his family, as he's trying to become the warior like those before him

-Mistral Arc: The shield+Pyrrha's crown thingy. The weapon is now more him, and it represent his growth at Beacon but consider himself unimportant

-Volume 7-8: Atlas upgrade. Less that destructive 'I'm not important' thought, more mature as a fight and a leader

-Volume 9: 3 words- the Ever After (and maybe also V8 final)

When we heard story about Summer and every time Ruby remebered her, she wears [pic.1] but when the tree showed Ruby the real Summer that is not perfect she wears [pic.2]

Qrow tried to be better in V7 and to signify that growth, he got outfit upgrade

Tai and Raven hadn't have their outfit changed, but those are what we saw throughout the course of the show

✨Speculation time✨ this kinda stupid so take this with a grain of salt someone pointed put that Raven's arm guards are similar to Summer's, so what if at Beacon one of them had a significant growth and that was a gift from the other *shrug*. Qrow's old outfit had a similar neck to that of Taiyang👀 no one else like that, maybe(?). I think those who changed are more likely the Branwens, yeah

So... the Volume 9 Epilogue has gotten an extended epilogue sequence and...

So just like before it starts where Volume 8 ended with everyone mourning the loss of many people who died cause the four little dumbasses and Harem wannabe knight and his team brought down all of Atlas. And thus reintroduces Sun and Neptune. Team CFVY and others.

So then cue a timeskip where we see things in Vacuo arent good as Atlesians and Vacuans are all trying to live together but at the same time shit has hit the fan literally between them. As the Vacuans do not appreciate them being here.

And oh right Mercury is there with Tyrian as they are joining forces with the Crown of Choice group from the stupid RWBY books or should I say forgettable.

To make matters even worse everyone is on edge with eachother as Nora steps up to be a leader while Ren is trying his hardest to keep everyone together to work as one. Oscar is trying his best to resist the merger between him and Ozpin and then after some yadda yadda talk and more refugee interactions.

An airship is in the distance and its from Vale and none other than Professor Port and Oobleckas they reveal that Vale has been destroyed by Salem.... and with no sign of Glynda Goodwitch.. it can be assumed she died.

(Literally my genuine reaction to hearing that info.)

You cant be serious. The writers fucked up one the most easiest cliche's ever. That me and many RWBY fans agreed that the final battle would take place in FUCKING VALE. And they decide to OFF-SCREEN ITS DESTRUCTION.

Like oh my fucking sweet baby rays on top of RIBS! This is garbage. Not only did they fuck up the most easiest CLICHE of all time the "It Ends Where It Began" but utterly fucked it up and placed it in a trash fire. Just Cause!!!

Whats even is the four dumbasses (RWBY) even fucked over Atlas by deriving Remnant of its ONLY SINGULAR MILITARY FORCE!

Oh? No Consequences in RWBY okay how about this then.

Thanks to Vale's destruction this would mean:

Millions of people may have died in Vale from Salem alone and those who managed to survive are suffering from starvation. Faunus Rights May Have Been Set Back By A THOUSAND STEPS because the White Fang attacked Vale and Beacon Academy.

The Humanitarian Crisis in Vacuo has went from bad to worse to "We're fucking cooked!" We've now been derived of a Glynda and Ozpin reunion.

SALEM NOW HAS GAINED ANOTHER RELIC!!

Anyways. It seems all hope is lost and then Raven reappears with none other than RWBY+ J as everything now is sparked up into a fire once more with everyone getting hyped up.

Like... okay. This is some ol' bullshit right here chief!!!! Like not only the writers just once again think its a good fucking decision to fuck over what many agreed to be Vale as the final battle location of RWBY or its final Volume. But the fact that Rooster Teeth couldn't even write a proper fucking ending to this show. So Basically to sum things up.

---Like in the 2002 live action it's the first class crew Charles and Erik are initially captured but Charles escapes and Erik gets his body possessed by one of those creatures. However it's Charles and Raven that have the Shaggy and Scoogy argument and Charles is the sacrifice.

---in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters unleashed when the gang is trapped by creatures I imagine Charles being trapped by the slime monster like Daphne but Erik has the disk thing that scooby has (they save the day yadayada)

---Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School Charles is at the Ghoul School and Erik is at the military prep school

---In a RWRB AU I imagine Charles as Alex as I think their journeys to their sexualities and being chill with it would be similar unlike Erik who would be Henry whereas Erik - not even by his parents or uncle - saw first hand how awful people can be

I know it could be said for Charles being Eddie, but imagine Erik feels a bullet but he doesn't catch it in time as there is several pieces of metal and bullets around he doesn't even register it until after he's been shot but his only thought is Charles and Charkes is just staring on in horror as Erik falls. Then Erik changes his will so that Charles gets Pietro, Wanda, and Lorna if anything happens to him (also feel free to include Anya too if one wishes)
