How would ptm jade react if Yuu told him about marine mushrooms?
I only know what wikipedia knows about marine mushrooms...unfortunately for yuu mind reading doesn't give them sudden infinite knowledge!
Tumblr media
“You know, with as much as you...like mushrooms and stuff, I'm surprised you haven't mentioned anything about marine fungi.”
You felt a chill run down your spine and Jade's bi-colored eyes on you.
“Pardon?” Does my darling also love fungi? How could I have not known this?
You shifted in your seat, staring down at your notebook as you doodles between the margins. A small button mushroom that you'd absentmindedly drawn minded you of Jade.
And you just happened to be doing research with him for your group project in the library this day.
“Sorry, I just was thinking about it, and it's just surprising to me that you never had, like an aquarium type terrarium or something with them.”
You let out a nervous laugh, after all, it was just you two by yourselves. Riddle and Yev were busy with their dorms due to the Spelldrive Tournament, and your dorm still didn't technically qualify, since all your freshmen were officially in other dorms.
Such a wonderful laugh, I'd like to hear it more...
“Well, to my knowledge, they don't exist.” Jade leaned in, his eyes wide and full of excitement. “By chance, do such mushrooms exist in your world?”
Please tell me more! Tell me lies for all I care, so I may hear your voice...though you wouldn't lie about such things, would you?
You perked up. It was rare that you knew something Jade, or anyone at NRC, had no clue about. It probably wasn't intentional, but the way people would look at you when you had no clue about something make you feel dumb, even though you logically had no way of knowing even the most basic things of this world.
It was kinda nice to be the one to share knowledge with another person.
“Well, I don't know a lot, but they mostly exist in marine environments. I think a few hundred?” You leaned in closer, moving your notebook towards Jade as you started drawing again.
“I can't remember their names very well, but I've always been a more visual person anyways.” You drew a piece of driftwood, a snail, and a rock covered in lichen.
“This one grows in mangroves, usually on the places. But this one grows around the shell of a snail, who eats it. And sometimes lichen will grow with fungi, but I don't know a whole lot about them.”
You paused, pursing your lips in disappointment.
“Sorry, I don't know enough to tell you about them, I know how much you...”
Your words trailed off as you looked back up at Jade, who was resting his check against his palm. He was staring at you with faint smile, and soft, half lidded eyes and pink cheeks.
So beautiful...
Cheeks and chest going hot, you stared back, opening and closing your mouth as you tried to figure out how to respond.
“Uh, Jade, you're, uh, staring...”
Jade stiffened, straightening up and covering his mouth in embarrassment.
“My apologies. I was just....enraptured by your descriptions.” And you. “I don't mind that you aren't familiar, but I would like to heard more from you about marine fungi. Perhaps you can tell me all about your world's plant life? It never occurred to me that your world would evolve differently, but saying that now, it seems obvious.”
He smiled at you again, his teeth showing a bit more as he excitedly leaned in.
“You struggle in musicology, yes? Perhaps in exchange for your knowledge, I can help you with practice?”
Please say yes!
You paused. Various suggestive scenarios that seem more apt for a risqué site or story flashed through Jade's mind in giddy anticipation.
You know better. You know what Jade's hoping for. You shouldn't string him along, you're going to get embarrassed. You're going to get uncomfortable, you're...
Another daydream, one of you two curled over a book, as you leaned into Jade's side while his arm pulled you closer, invaded your mind like a parasite in your brain. He had a tender smile as you laughed at something he said, your free hand reached up to cradle his cheek.
Maybe parasite is a harsh word. When the thoughts Jade had were so sweet and soft, it almost made you want to give in.
Almost.
“It's okay, I'm just a choir member, so there's not much for me to improve on.” You could hear your more logical voice sigh in the back of your mind. “But I'm happy to share...if you help me figure out if the mushrooms growing behind Ramshackle are edible.”
I'm weak…
Jade blinked, processing what you said.
Really? “Really?” Even Jade seemed like he was anticipating your rejection.
“Yeah, why not.” You shrugged, Jade's internal excitement flooding into your subconscious and influencing your own emotions. “Means less money to spend on food, and I'm sure you know plenty of yummy recipes we can use if they do end up good!”
Jade rarely smiled, at least not genuine, bare-teethed smiles. Despite the sharpness of them, you weren't put off by them, or him, at all.
“I would be honored.”

12 for the choose violence ask game?
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
Dawn Summers! She gets a lot of flak for being a teenage girl reacting to events like a teenage girl would lol. She's a great character that really enhances all of the relationships in btvs, and she provides Buffy with a genuine familial connection outside of her mother.
Dawn has a lot of thematic importance in representing both what Buffy is willing to sacrifice the world for and in representing the general population of people Buffy has to sacrifice herself for. Dawn is a great example of many aspects of Buffy's life, and outside of that she's genuinely fun and complex. She also gives the perfect amount of outside perspective to the slayer life that we start to lose sight of as time passes.
Also, it is a ballsy move adding a new character three quarters of the way through your show - especially when she comes off as pretty annoying yet somehow actually works. Like I hate Joss Whedon, but Dawn was a fascinating writing maneuver.

Hathor for the ask game?
Hathor: What brings you joy?
Lately I am finding lots of joy in the mundane! A walk outside, a good song that makes me want to sing, people being kind to each other, sunlight through leaves. I think it's important to be joyful about little things so you are prepared for the big things!

Are you doing alright?
I’m doing alright, thanks for asking! I stopped posting due to falling out of the ft fandom for a bit and a nearly year long mental health rut.
But, I’m back now and I’ll be opening up writing requests soon to try and make up for it.

Hi, May I ask why/how you chose misku-nimfa and what it means, if anything?
I forget why I wanted a different username, I set this tumblr up somewhere around 2010-2011, but I did. Mom used to joke that trees loved me because I couldn't go past a single one without getting leaves, petals, nuts, twigs, and all sorts of stuff from them. I didn't like the way "tree spirit" sounded in English though, so I ran it through a couple of different languages on Google Translate until I found one that had a sound I liked to it. Landing me on misku-nimfa ^.^

51, 99, & Kouga/Kagome for the ask meme?
Fanfiction Trope Mash-Up || @misku-nimfa Accidentally Married and Magical Accidents
Everything about this was wrong.
Kagome had never been to anything like this. She usually had left the palace before the festivities began, having done her job and eager to be home, but today she was running late in the wash room and accidentally walked out to a row of archers aiming their arrows toward the sky.
One by one, the arrows were sent, each archer following until they found where the arrow landed, all in front of beautiful women. Kagome didn't understand what was going on, didn't understand why the women reacted the ways they did, had no idea why the men ribbed each other with knowing, lusty looks at each arrow's mark.
Keeping to herself, she skirted along until she could run and finally get home. Just as she was crossing the line of archers, she was stopped. All who step on the line must shoot, she was told. No matter her argument, no matter her fight, she was handed a too-large bow and an arrow. Point to the sky and shoot.
It takes her a few tries to pull the string, the weight simply too much for her to handle. After the first few mishaps, the angry court magician steps up and holds her arm. This arrow soars into the sky and flies, on and on until it lands just on the skirts of the forest and at the feet of a large, brown wolf.
A roar of laughter fills the sky, jeering and nasty and all the things a servant girl was used to when dealing with knights. Forcefully, she was led over to the wolf, growing ill at the jokes that she would be made a meal before the ceremony was over.
What ceremony? she cries, not understanding what happened.
The wedding ceremony, comes the horrific answer. Your arrow landed at a wolf, you must marry the wolf.
It's not until a week later that she learns of this ceremony. That she learns women are not supposed to aim the arrows, that the archers chosen to marry know how to aim just right to pick their chosen brides. And her wolf who cared nothing for human traditions took her anyway, claimed her as mate, but let her learn what it meant to be mated to a wolf who can choose to take human form and at the end gives her the choice to leave or stay.
She stays, of course. And when the court magician shows up in the forest looking to steal the servant girl from the wolf and take her for his own -- as he intended when he forced her into the wedding contest -- Kagome and her wolf mate take delight in tearing him to shreds.

I've been seeing a lot of Genshin Impact stuff on your blog and was curious about what your favorite part of it is. Feel free to ignore this if you don't feel like answering 😅
Hmm, aside from the very fun combat and awesome character designs (seriously, I think the only one I’ve been so-so on is Albedo and even he looks good lol)--gotta say the writing.
I’m genuinely enjoying the witty humor (I love Paimon so much lol), the story so far, and I adored the Liyue plot line (*sobs over Zhongli and Childe*).
The main story is good, the side stories have all made me either grin or get teary eyed (The Venti story is so good). I loved the Fischl & Mona event, and I just finished up the first part of Albedo’s story event for the Chalk Prince and the Dragon--and loved it.
All of those good parts help me ignore the grind of the gacha mechanics. o-o;;
But at least there’s pity. *pats her Keqing and Albedo* XD

Jae-Ha 13, 21, & 27 please
(apologies if you sent this yesterday – i didn’t see it until just now)
13. Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?
Pansexual.  He didn’t really grow up hearing stuff like “men should only be with women, and vice versa,” so a lot of his opinions on sexual orientation were formed out of his own experiences.  For him, so long as the partners involved are happy, then there’s no problem.
21. Turn-ons? Turn-offs?
We all know he’s down with that Kinky™ shit.  He’s a relentless tease, but he’s surprisingly a bit more of a masochist than a sadist.  Enjoys being tied up, but he has to have full trust in his partner before allowing them to tie his wrists.  Biggest turn-off is any form of age play.
27. What is their biggest regret?
Not being able to take Garou with him.  Jae-ha firmly believes that Garou’s long life and the relentless emotional abuse from the village is what caused him to lose his mind, because, in the early days, Garou was actually much nicer.  More than anything, Jae-ha wanted to return to those days by getting both himself and Garou out of the village.
Ask me for an excessively detailed headcanon!

Can I see your recipe for Sweet Tai Meatballs?
You sure can, hun!
Be warned that I am low-spoons all the time, so things that I get that are frozen or pre-prepared could EASILY be made fresh if someone has the energy to do so. I just...don’t. So this is the spoonie edition. Sub in fresh  if you want to! Sweet Thai Meatballs 1 package of frozen meatballs of your choice. I tend to use either chicken or turkey. 1 ENTIRE bottle (10-ish ounces) of Sweet Thai Chili Sauce. I use the Maggi brand. 2 cans of jellied cranberry sauce -- Note, you CAN use the whole-berry cans of cranberry sauce, but you need to put it in the food processor and blend it down to mush if you go that route. 2 teaspoons of minced garlic. Add ALL ingredients to a crockpot and mix together until cranberry sauce, thai chili sauce, and garlic are all combined well and your meatballs are coated. Turn the crockpot on high and cook for 2 hours, covered, but stirring occasionally to re-coat meatballs, then turn down to low and continue to let simmer until you are ready to eat. We also make a pot of white jasmine rice about 20 minutes before we’re ready for food, then we pour some of the meatball sauce over our rice and add our meatballs to the top! It’s filling and warming and not bad for you! This is enough to give two people multiple meals for the week, too. Ours usually lasts about 5 days if both of us eat a serving a day.

Starlight - TCR Secret Santa for @misku-nimfa
@misku-nimfa, I was your Secret Santa this year, and I chose your prompt “Starlight.” I saw you like Star Wars, so I hope you enjoy this. Merry Christmas!
“The stars are beautiful tonight,” Haru said, gazing up at the deep blue expanse overhead. Millions of stars shone out of the dark, filling the sky with just enough light to see, even without the little light set up nearby. Sitting out here, her knees pulled up so she could wrap her arms around them made her feel so insignificant.
“Yes, they are, aren't they,” her companion said, and she turned to look at him. Baron von Gikkingen was laying back on the ground, his jedi cloak laid out under the two of them like a blanket. For a bodyguard, he looked quite relaxed, but she knew any danger would have him leaping to her defense.
This of course turned her thoughts to why he was with her in the first place. Haru and her sister Persephone were the Senators for Naboo, and had been working against a legislation that would heavily militarize the Republic. Someone very much wanted it to pass, and seemed to have figured the best way to stop opposition was to cut off the head of it. There been a series of attacks had nearly killed her and her sister, and for their safety, the Jedi Council had sent them Baron and his sister Louise and practically ordered them to leave Coruscant until the day of the vote. Currently, Haru and Baron were on her homeworld of Naboo, and their hiding had been more like a vacation. Persephone and Louise, last they'd known, were on Alderaan, enjoying the hospitality of King Lune and his consort Yuki.
Baron picked up on the turn her mood had taken and sat up. “Are you alright?” he asked, sitting up and looking at her intensely.
Haru felt her cheeks flush under his gaze, and half-cursed herself for it. She’d always been attracted to Cathar (something Persephone would have teased her about if she didn’t feel the same) and the fact that Baron cut a fine figure was not helping her. She smoothed out the skirt of her midnight blue dress and said, “I’m fine, I’m just… Thinking about what Louise and Persephone are doing right now.”
Baron closed his eyes and Haru could faintly tell he was reaching into his and Louise’s bond. “They’re asleep now, though they seem to have had some excitement earlier today.”
Haru smiled. “That sounds like Persephone.”
“And Louise. But I guess you could say it runs in the family.” Baron had a small grin on his face.
Haru paused a moment, then asked, “I thought the Jedi always discouraged attachment. Why do they let you and Louise work together?”
Baron opened his eyes and stared up at the stars for a moment. “Well, Louise and I aren't the average Jedi.” He sat up, crossing his legs like he was going to meditate. “Louise and I were seven when we were found by Master Corvo, and already had our attachment to each other. It’s what After a few failed attempts to break our connection, the mind healers finally told the Council that to do so would greatly damage our minds and connection to the Force.” He shrugged, shifting closer to her as he did so. “So the Council made sure we had conservative masters to remind us of the dangers of being too attached, and after we proved that we wouldn't compromise our missions purely for the other’s sake, they let off on us.”
“So, you don't hold the same adherence to the Code that they try to impress on you?” She asked, then flushed and looked down, lacing her fingers together. Much too forward, Haru, you know better than that.
“No, I suppose you could say I don’t.” Baron reached a hand over and drew one of her hands away. “Louise and I have found that we seem to do better ignoring the no attachments part of the code.” He laced her fingers between his own, and drew her hand to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to the back of it. “And I must say I have grown quite attached to you, Senator Yoshioka.
Haru gasped softly, her blush intensifying as she looked up. “I’ve asked you to call me Haru, Baron,” she reminded him with a boldness that she wasn’t sure where it came from.
“Of course. My apologies. Is there anyway I could make it up to you?” His green eyes held an intensity that drew her in as if he had used a force pull, and she could not resist any more.
She leaned in and kissed him, her eyes shut while her free hand came to rest on his shoulder. He reached up and cupped her chin to hold her close. It was a little awkward, his face being so different than any man’s she’d kissed before, and she almost wanted to laugh as his fur tickled her face. But the passion, the care behind the kiss, for how chaste it was, left her breathless.
After what felt like an eternity and much too soon, he pulled away, and her eyes fluttered open to see him watching her with a mix of smug happiness and slight concern.
“I hope I did not pressure you,” he said softly. “I’ve been thinking of doing that for several days now.”
“I’ve felt the same way,” Haru told him. “Please, kiss me again.”
Baron smiled, and leaned in for another kiss. Tomorrow, they’d sit and discuss and figure out where to go from this point on in their relationship. A day after, Baron would have a vision of Louise in danger, and a few hours later, a message confirming it would come to them, with orders to stay put. The day after that, Haru and Baron would be fighting their way out of a pirates’ den, back to back with Louise and Persephone, and with a good four dozen almost- and former slaves following behind. But for now, they just sat there, sharing kisses until they became almost too tired to return to the house, then they stood and walked back under the starlight.
