Fleamont Henry Potter, respected potioneer and proud father and grandfather

Middle child and first son to Henry “Harry” (b. 1866) and Isla (nee Moody), in 1890 named after his dying paternal grandmother's maiden name, as her last request. Between siblings Josephine "Josie" (b. 1887) and Clifford (b. 1892) raised in Bristol with respect from their father’s career as an Auror (and briefly the Wizengamot).

At Hogwarts in Gryffindor, Monty grew a strong duelist against teasing and found his passion for potions, becoming lifetime rivals with classmate Horace Slughorn. Monty was best friends with Arnold Longbottom, raised in similar rising respect, also near to cousin Julian Moody (Cliff's best friend) and with Gilbert Longbottom, Hufflepuff, an extended cousin of Arnie's.

After exchange at Olympos (under Hephaestus), Monty attended college in Rome though left immediately after his advanced potioneer apprenticeship. He joined the W.V.F. fighting for and alongside Muggles in the Great War (1914-18). Forever affected losing Arnold, Monty rose through potions to heal and aid others greatly advancing wizarding medicine.

Having married Euphemia "Effie" Evercreech (b. 1896) in the war, they only managed a single son Edward "Ted" in 1933 but she adored babies in her midwifery career. In the coming of another war, Monty joined the mediwizards and became acclaimed for saving many lives yet lost his sister fighting in the W.S.O.

His potions company Potter Products Ltd. highly increased their family's wealth though their Muggle advocacy tainted them in respectable society. Only mere years after his grandson James (b. 1960) was born, Monty and Effie grieved Ted's loss bringing them even nearer to little Jamie, and they later lost their daughter-in-law.

Their family forever marked by Valdemar with their closeness to Albus Dumbledore and Monty's Peverell heritage, Monty and Effie died from Dragon Pox soon after celebrating the marriage of James and Lily (nee Evans). Supposedly deemed fatally ill from old age yet possibly deliberately targeted and reunited with their grandchildren too soon.

Author's note: For the protection of James' own parents, his grandparents were noted to be his own (though outside the books). My own headcanon with them as contemporaries and best friends to Frank Longbottom's grandparents simply made them too old and even if Monty was possibly born in the early 1900s, it never sat right to me. Monty and Effie were still as dear as parents to Jamie, orphaned fairly young.

Richard Oswald Longbottom, proud father and blood traitor

Eldest and first son to Gilbert (b. 1892) and Esther (nee Summerbee) born in 1917, during the Great War in France. Raised in Yorkshire with his other siblings: Nicole (b. 1919) and Algernon (b. 1922) alongside Muggins. Richie was best friends with Donny Moody, but befriended twins Septimus "Timmy" and Kenver Weasley at Hogwarts and encouraged Cedrella Black’s liberalism.

After Hogwarts, Richie studied at the University of Leeds in Education despite wizarding opportunities. His romance with Cedrella fell through before he joined the RAF in the outbreak of war. Flying Hawker Hurricanes most of his long career, he grew as a flying ace yet aiding France’s liberation, he fell, but never gave into the Zanos' lures.

After the war, Richard fell in love with Augusta Moody (b. 1919) and he rose up in the RAF regaining reputation in the Cold War. They had two boys: Franklin (b. 1952) and Orson (b. 1954) though adopted their orphaned niece Marlene Moody (b. 1949) in her teenage years, who later took her mother's maiden name McKinnon.

Eventually resettling in Yorkshire, Richard retired a Group captain and became a Muggin Studies teacher at St. Hilda's Magical Abbey teaching equality and tolerance and Gusta a mere shopkeeper. They raised their boys to be stanch advocates of all life.

Dear friends with Minister for Magic Nobby Leach (1962-68) and his family but also to the Potters, Blackworths, and Boneses. Yet their wizarding respect declines even to cousins Harfang and Callidora, long forgotten what a Longbottom is. Very close to Dumbledore, they're marked but they'll die before they forget themselves - once Muggins.

pt.1 of me sharing my rosier family hc cause their lore in my head is insane:

what i noticed is that in the magical world every pureblood family has its own particular way of punishing. from what we know about the blacks and the crouches, we see that the blacks tortured their children only after they had disobeyed, while the crouches were more likely to prevent them from making mistakes in the first place. in both cases, they never told their children what they did wrong.

for the rosiers, however, it was important that the children understood what mistakes they had made, and that they had gone against the family principles. the punishment only came after the teaching.

the concept is simple: you can't hide anything from your family.

the rosiers didn't use unforgivable curses, but only a skillful alternation of veritaserum and occlumency, so that no one could ever get used to either one or the other. if any family member suspected that you had done something forbidden, they could demand to know the truth. and then it was revealed in front of everyone.

humiliation was the best method the rosier family had to teach a lesson to their children and teenagers. the memory of that horrible feeling of shame and dishonor was what prevented the young rosiers from making the same mistakes again.

sometimes, when children were a little more insolent, they also resorted to physical wounds: evan's room is plastered with his and barty's letters, so that everyone can read them and he can never take them off, but that nasty cut above his eye that made him half blind was the result of his disobedience. the wounds are not hidden, but clearly visible, so that everyone, everywhere, both at home and at school, knows.

and if people suspect that the family is abusive, who cares! who has the courage to go against a powerful pureblood family?
