Hi Banana! First of all, I want to thank you for your absolutely awesome arts, your style is incredible and gives me sort of creepy fairytale vibes (and I like it heh) :) Also I want to ask about boys parents (sorry if this question has already been asked): who their parents? I headcanon that Philip and Caleb lost their parents somewhere at the age of 8 and 10(11). So yeah, pretty young. Brothers remembered them, but as time passed, some memories were slowly forgotten.

Their family was quite ordinary. Father(Thomas) was a farmer, mother(Charity) was a housewife. Boys spent more time with their father, helping him with different tasks.

I think that Caleb was more like their dad and Philip more like their mom, I agree with you on that🤝

this might be random, but i NEED to know, what's the risotto recipe you have in mind? I love cooking and, not to be cringe, but I have made a few of the dishes you've mentioned in Opus if they catch my eye or I have enjoyed making them before and fancy giving them a whirl again. But I don't remember you ever quite specifying the risotto and I was wondering if, well, there was a specific recipe or if it was just risotto. I was planning to just wing it but, well, food is a very conscientious theme throughout Opus and I knew there was a chance you might have an actual recipe in mind!

First, that is not cringe, that is amazing, and I am now dying to know what you have made.

Second, FUNNY STORY.

I do a lot of due diligence when I write. Food is a theme that runs throughout this series, and honest to god I look things up before I slap them on the page. Kaidan has a much more multicultural background than I do, and I didn't want to be That Asshole who assumes my narrow culinary experiences are universal. So when I mention a dish, it's safe to say I put some thought into it. I even have the actual drink recipes for the 'Yang Gang's favorite cocktails, thanks to @pip-n-flinx.

There is one notable exception to this.

It's the risotto.

I'm gonna be honest. When I made risotto the coveted Alenko dish, it went something like this:

Me: Ok, I need a funny reason for Shepard to be willing to go pose as Kaidan's partner with his parents. Also Me: How about a legendary home cooked meal. Me: Perfect. What's the Legendary Home Cooked Meal at Casa Alenko? First thing that comes to mind. Also Me: Risotto. Me: Great. Wait, what is risotto? Also Me: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Me: Doesn't matter, we're rolling with it.

I'm not even kidding. When I made Lora Alenko's Risotto the most mouth watering meal in the galaxy I didn't actually know what risotto was. I thought it was some kind of pasta. See why I research?

You have to understand, this all started with Sonata, and Sonata was supposed to be an AU one shot that was maybe 7k words TOPS. It wasn't supposed to be part of Opus. It wasn't supposed to dictate the tone and establish everything about how Opus ultimately unfolds. And because I wasn't writing it with that in mind - it was just this silly, supremely self-indulgent diversion to distract me from the stupid thing I was stuck on in Cantata - I, uh. I just winged it.

(I have since looked it up, since had it, and DO actually know what it is, please stop laughing.)

So I have no idea what the recipe is. I feel like it's one of those things that can't have a recipe, because the reality will never be as good as Kaidan's boasting.

But also consider this alternative: Sam has the worst tastebuds in the galaxy. What If Lora Alenko's "risotto" was just some elaborate home made cheesy rice that was kid!Kaidan's favorite meal, so he has some big time nostalgia glasses on about it, Sam is insane over it because he's a basic bitch, and there has not been a marine on the 'Yang who doesn't love it because marines' idea of a good snack is a box of crayons.

Just saying. XD

(That said, if you wind up with a heavenly risotto recipe you recommend, I'm uh, open to suggestions....;)

in this AU, Damien is obviously still married to Pip, but Mary doesn't really accept that, so she tries to get rid of Pip in every way possible, forgetting that you can kill people in the underworld, but they will always come back

Both Damien and Pip are unaware that Mary has had a strong crush on Damien (since they were children), and points it out with fairly obvious signs, but Damien unfortunately never realized this, as a child he didn't know much about these human feelings and then he started thinking only about Pip... RIP for Mary XD but I still try to work on it a little more TvT

it's time for wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff! (Aka it's time for Roman Headcanons!)

First Headcanon, (I don't know if this really counts as a headcanon... but..) despite how mischievous he appears to be typically... i think Roman definitely has had moments where he is very sweet (and possibly romantic... though that just depends on how you picture Roman & Pip's "Friendship"/"Relationship"... ...personally i ship them...)

Second Headcanon, (It's not completely confirmed where Roman and possibly Pip are staying currently (since in the recent experiment log all we heard about the location was the word "Abandoned" I think...) soo...) I like to imagine they'll staying in a Abandoned warehouse of some kind (because come on.. you can't tell Roman and Pip aren't the type who would totally stay in Abandoned warehouse...)

Third Headcanon, (I've never really personally watched it... but..) I don't know why but I can totally picture Roman watching Doctor Who... (either he really likes it or he just watches it to make fun of it... that I will leave up to you...)

Fourth Headcanon, (more to do with my mental image of Roman... but..) I like to imagine Roman's hair has grown quite a bit longer since he hasn't been able to properly cut it... (then again... some do say hair carries memories soo maybe Roman is holding on to something from the past...)

Fifth Headcanon, (slightly inspired by the events of the first experiment log also slightly a Pip Headcanon... but..) I imagine Roman now gets slightly anxiety/panic attacks at times due to past events... and Pip does try to help him (though they aren't really good at these types of situations, they've definitely gotten better at helping...)

Sixth Headcanon, Roman definitely gives me the vibes of someone who can't choose if he likes cats or dogs.. (or even birds... he would rather just take the whole zoo then choose...)

Seventh Headcanon, (slightly also a Cyril Headcanon... but..) I definitely think Roman has at least once did the classic whoopee cushion or glitter bomb prank on Mr elfy boy...

Eighth Headcanon, (more of a funny one... but..) I like to imagine Roman really liked learning about history back when he was growing up... (which is ironic because of his name and how his life is now... XD)

Ninth Headcanon, I like to imagine Roman is the type of person where if you know him good enough he is very much a hug person/a cuddle bug (I just imagine there was a time where Roman tried to hug Cyril and learned the hard way of why not to do that again....never underestimate the elfy boy....)

Tenth Headcanon, Don't know why but Roman just gives the vibes of that kind of person who carries around gum with him... (I like to imagine that he occasionally chews some gum to help him either think or relax but besides that he just has gum...)

Bonus Headcanon, Roman definitely was the kind of kid growing up who would take a bunch of different things (for example, soap, shampoo and etc) and would mix it all up like they were making a potion of some kind...

Yes, I much prefer Akk being gay AND poor rather than just gay 😂 Being a scholarship student gave him a motivation for becoming the curse that wasn't just "I hate those gay losers over there," so it's a little easier to stomach.

And I also agree with you that Our Skyy pulled a lot from the source material. The plot with Wat's movie and Namo's crush on that girl are both straight from the novel and I love that P'Golf decided to use that extra time to give the novel fans a little nod.

I was pretty notoriously one of the people who wasn't a huge fan of Aye in Our Skyy, but you're right that his personality in Our Skyy more closely resembles the Aye from the novel rather than the Aye from the series. Of course, I think that might be because the Aye from the novel is a bit of an asshole to Akk lol.

But omg I'm glad you're enjoying Namo because I LOVE novel!Namo. I am so mad at what they turned him into in the series because I would die for novel!Namo. He deserves the world and Akk is so mean to him 😭

Nice mini comic on Philip accusing Catherine. Do you think Caleb not stepping in and disciplining his brother is one of the reasons he’s goes down the road he did? For the mini story shows two things that sum up the core of Philip’s issues: lack of empathy and he’s inability to accept error. I mean you can see how his schemes start off harmless but slowly get more dangerous and his attachment issues lead to some messy things happening. Do you fail that Caleb being too nice and young himself meant he never wanted to put his foot down on Philip(sorry for ranting just getting off my chest)?

I have some very specific ideas about their upbringing that I'm gonna explore in the main comic but yea, Caleb absolutely helped feed Phillip's burgeoning god complex. I don't see him as completely lacking empathy as much as having a twisted worldview that justifies denying empathy. If a kind person had snakes appear in their bedroom he'd probably feel bad for them and think they'd been cursed by a witch, but when it was someone who wronged him he'd justify it as a divine punishment they brought on themselves even tho he was the one who put the snakes there.

Kids are very bad at appropriately disciplining other kids, but Caleb was put in an especially hard position. He doesn't have the same authority as a parent but seeking help from adults in town would likely result in overly harsh punishments to the point that he would instead feel the need to cover for Phillip to protect him. When he could actually enforce a punishment he would be easily emotionally manipulated into rescinding or at least apologizing for it to keep his only surviving family from hating him. If it was an especially serious offense that he'd hold his ground on it could make Phillip feel bad enough to confess to others and get both of them in hot water. At this point it's spiraled into Phillip being perfectly willing to threaten Caleb for even a gentle suggestion he doesn't like (getting rid of the mask) so what is Caleb to do about something like the Catherine situation? And I had already made this lil Pip comic just for myself but it kinda fits so here ya go xD

(dhejekejdjeh I mean I still like Awesamdream so it's fine if they win, plus I don't really expect prime boys to win, either way it seems fun to do this- so now I'll write you a thing I guess :3 )

Dream scampered across the floor, his bag swinging around and thumping against his side painfully but he couldn't slow down, not now, not with a cat chasing after him. As a mouse hybrid there were many dangers in the world, especially if you choose to gnaw a hole to live inside of someone larger's walls. Dream knew these dangers well and always kept an eye out for them when moving- but this time he somehow missed the glaring detail that a cat lived here; the yellow feline itself was currently chasing him through the house, hissing, and glaring at him with it's blue eyes.

All Dream needed to do was to get to any of the holes he'd chewed into the walls here- but every time he was close the cat pounced and blocked his path. He was running out of options and out of time as he steadily grew more and more tired. Mice have good endurance but he couldn't exactly run forever, and he could already feel his legs tingling, about ready to give out under him.

Dream spotted another hole and turned to make a dash for it, but he really had been running for too long, because as soon as he moved his body to turn he tripped on his own tired legs and collapsed onto the floor painfully. Not long after that he could hear the cat's pip paping of paws approaching him and he knew it was over. Out of all the ways he thought he'd go he'd always hoped it wouldn't be a cat, or at least he'd be able to put up a fight if it was; but with how exhausted he was he couldn't move let alone fight as he felt and heard the cat sniffing him from behind.

It was over for Dream....

The little mouse closed his eyes as he felt a warm breath that smelled like cat food envelope him, and prepared to be bitten into....

To his surprise however, he was gently lifted up by the back of his hoodie. He looked down to the floor below confused and saw the cat's legs and paws below him. So they were holding him, but why not eating? His question was far from answered as the cat started running off again, taking Dream with it somewhere upstairs.

Dream could do nothing more than watch as the cat brought him into an unfamiliar bedroom then hopped up onto a bed where it dropped Dream down onto the blanket unceremoniously.

"Oof-" The mouse huffed as he landed, then pushed himself up to turn to look back at the cat- who was staring at him with it's face literally in his own. "Uuuhhhhh hi cat?" He asked as he scooted back away from the fairly scary face and started looking around the room, trying to think of something other than the predator that probably just wanted to play with him more before finally eating. "When did this room get here...?" The mouse wondered aloud, still ignoring the cat for now.

"It's always been here." A voice spoke up and Dream froze. None of the humans were supposed to be home yet, and when Dream looked at the bedroom door no one was there. He tried to keep looking for the source of the voice but didn't get far as he was picked up by his tail, a fearful squeak being ripped from his throat. "Heeeyyy over here little guy!" It was the voice again, and as Dream was spun around he found the source finally- there was a large person behind him, they looked like a skinny teenage boy with curly blond hair and blue eyes- and cat ears.

"O- oh!" Dream squeaked. Oh... A cat person... Literally. The teen chuckled and tossed Dream into the air, ignoring how he shouted before catching him.

"Hmm, I think I'll call you squeaks since you squeak y'know!" The teen laughed again as he pet Dream's hair and the little mouse shivered.

"Wh- what? Who-" Dream started to ask but didn't get far before he was dropped onto the cat's pillow with another pained squeak.

"I'm Tommy, Tommy Danger Kracken Innit!" The teen introduced himself as Dream struggled to push himself up on the squishy pillow. "Now, who are you really and why are you in my house mousey?" Just as Dream got up he was pushed over again by a massive finger.

"I- I'm Dream..." He stuttered out. "And uh- well uh-" Well shit if he told this kid he lived in the walls he might actually be eaten. "I was just passing by....?"

"Uh-huh, sure, inside someone else's house?" Dream gulped as he watched the cat's tail wave around in annoyance.

"Y- yeah! It was uh- it was cold I just- I just needed to warm up for a second before heading home!" He lied, shivering as he looked up at the cat's glowing blue eyes.

"You were cold out there eh?" Dream nodded, even though he could tell the cat didn't believe him. "Alright!" The cat smirked, showing off rows upon rows of terrifying fangs. "Then why not stay a bit longer? Warm up some more! I even have somewhere to keep you very warm..." The cat growled and Dream held back a whimper.

"N- no no I- I couldn't-" Dream started to frantically say, trying to think of any reason why he'd need to leave, and flinched when the cat barked out into loud laughter.

"Oh my gosh you mice are so weird!" Tommy kept laughing, "Did you actually think I'd eat a person?" Dream froze and looked into their blue eyes for any sign this was a trick, and when he didn't find any he nodded. "Wow, guess it's true about what they say with you little guys and anxiety." Tommy rolled his eyes which only confused Dream more.

"S- so.... You're uh... You're not going to eat me?" He looked up at Tommy hopefully and flinched again when he started giggling.

"Nah, I'm really not into eating other hybrids- feels all morally wrong and all that bullshit." The teen shrugged and scooped Dream up in his hands. "Plus it was fun to play with you today, it's pretty fucking boring here alone." Dream held onto Tommy's thumb as the kid started carrying him somewhere. "Would you mind playing a bit of cat and mouse again some time?" Tommy smiled that same toothy smile that sent a shiver down Dream's spine.

"I- if you don't scare me a- again..." He stuttered out, and sighed in relief when the cat nodded in understanding.

"That's fair, I think I went a biiiit to far this time anyways-" Tommy giggled when Dream nodded. "Either way, I think this is what you were trying to get to?" The cat gently set Dream down in front of one of his holes, and Dream finally actually calmed down. He was being let go- they were being honest.

"Y- yeah uh- thanks?" He took a step into the hole, happy to be back in the darkness.

"No, thank you for giving me some entertainment." The cat purred and Dream was glad that they weren't going to eat him again. "Before you go though, I should probably warn ya that the rest of my family will eat you though, so don't let your guard down stupid mouse-" Tommy pushed Dream into his hole with a ginger and Dream didn't argue before running off into the walls, planning to go home and maybe move.

I recently took a deepdive into Rainworld and it's Lore, so I got a bit obsessed over it xD As a Result, I created my own Slugcat-OC I named The Glacier or just Glacier.

They sit a bit before Saint in the Timeline, so when the world is already an IceAge.

- Their Fur is covered with lots of tiny Icecrystals to make them immune agains the Cold and the Blizzards. So they're able to stay outside a lot longer than Saint (In Saints Campain are enemies that can withstand the cold and not get affected by it) - They can use their Icecrystals as Spear-like weapons similar to Spearmaster; their Damage is also increased - They're very weak agains explosions and can get instant killed by them, which prevents Glacier from using them directly - If around warm Objects or Creatures for to long they can get a heatstroke which weakens them - In a weakend state, they act similar when being in a Starve Circle and they can't use their Ice Spears anymore until recovery - Their lung capacity is bigger than the Standart, but not as big as of Rivulet - Swimming and staying in the Water helps recovering from a heatstroke faster  - Staying in a Shelter and Hibernating doesn't affect their temperature - The previous Drainage System now Undergrowth Area also can cause a heatstroke if staying in there for to long - Glacier needs as many Food Pipes as Rivulet and Spearmaster (5) with being able to store three more for the next Circle. - Any dead creature can be eaten for food, however smaller creatures and plants only fill 1/4th of a food pip. - During a Blizzard, Glacier is less visible to creatures, quieter and gets a larger stealth bonus when crouching

Stats: Lung Capacity: 1.25 Throwing Skill: 2 Spear Damage: 1.25 Speed: 1.2 Mass: Standart Loudness: 0.75 Visibility Bonus: -0.1 Crawling Stealth: 0.6
