Morgan | Peter Parker

Returning from ashes felt like it had been hours rather than years. Luckily, Strange was with you, informing you that more time had passes than you had initially thought. But in that moment, you weren’t aware of how much you had missed out on.

Those years you could never get back with your father because he was dead. During the final battle against the past’s Thanos, he had made the ultimate sacrifice. It was the only way that he was to be beaten, and the world to be saved. That sacrifice was his own life, he had known the cost.

Your father’s body could not withstand the power of the infinity stones for a long duration. After he snapped his fingers, he had fallen weak, drifting off and thinking of his lost and found family. With teary eyes, you had watched him die, leaning into Peter as a source of comfort.

Peter was like Tony’s apprentice. He was always willing to do what was asked of him, other than if he was told to stay out of a fight that he saw held a cause. But you needed him more than ever when you returned home, finding that your billionaire dad had moved into a sweet cabin.

In an instant upon his death, you had departed from Peter and ran towards Pepper. She was practically the mother that you had never had, seeing as your biological one had died during childbirth. But going to her home felt like a stab in the heart.

Of course you were beyond pleased to see Happy. Although he wasn’t alone, there was a small girl with him, with brown hair and brown eyes, just like your father’s. It wasn’t difficult to put two and two together, after all you were the daughter of a worldwide genius.

The thought that he had another daughter though after losing you made you create distance between everyone. Sure, you were living with Pepper as she was your legal guardian now, but that didn’t mean that you had to be on the same side of the kitchen when helping to make dinner or go to the park with her and Morgan.

The kid was fresh faced, and a part of you hated your late father for that. She hadn’t been pulled into his avenging life whereas you had, and so had Peter. Just because he wanted a mind similar to his own, he selfishly brought you onto the team, gladly you could say that you played no part in creating Ultron, but you had to aid in cleaning up his global mess.

A knock invaded the quiet space of your room, however it didn’t come from the door. Peter was at the window, clinging onto the frame as you hurried over to invite him in. Pulling up the adjoined frames, he rolled through the gap, dropping his backpack on the carpet.

“Have you just came from school?” It was your creeping suspicion. A part of you worried that he may have been seen swinging his way over here, he wasn’t wearing his mask or suit, leaving him open to exposure. But for you, that was a risk that he was willing to take.

“Yeah.” He breathed out a cluster of air that he had been holding in, brushing away the parts of his hair that had fallen down onto his forehead. “It’s not the same without you.” Sure, he had Ned, and MJ, but that wasn’t fulfilling enough. He liked to discuss the things that he had learnt from your father with you, although there was no doubt that you already knew.

Since your father’s death, you had no intention to return to the school. The only reason you had been put in there in the first place was so that you could keep an eye on Peter, and make sure that he didn’t decide to fight anyone like Vulture by himself again.

“Nothing’s the same after, what are the calling it, the blip.” That past before then was your normal. It felt like you were living an entirely different reality right now. Back then, you didn’t have a sister. You weren’t even sure that she knew who you were.

Did anyone really discuss with her that you shared the same dad? When you moved here, you found one picture of Tony and Peter in the kitchen, and had sulked around every room to try and find a piece of yourself. To no avail, there was nothing, but there were still pictures of Morgan.

“I know why you’re saying that.” He spoke, flopping himself on your bed. He could read you like a book, it was easy to him. All of these moments where you locked yourself away into what used to be the guest bedroom, he knew why. You had your own idea of your reality, and that didn’t include a child.

“Perhaps I’m just being general.” You defended yourself, denying all claim to what Peter was supposing. “I mean, you had to find another apartment because other people had moved in, everything has shifted.”

“Or things have been added.” He bumped your shoulder with his own, prompting you to properly listen to him. “ And they don’t have to be bad. Don’t tell me that you blame a kid for everything, because I know that you aren’t like that. For a fact, I remember you saying to me once after class that you wished you had a sibling, then there wouldn’t be as much pressure upon you.”

“I wasn’t supposed to be left with said child though, my dad was supposed to still be in the picture.” Carefully, Peter pulled your head to rest on his shoulder. At the first touch you went rigid, but soon you relaxed. “Half of my family is gone Pete, I can’t act like nothing is missing from it.”

“And no one is asking you to.” He played with the ends of your hair, twirling them around his fingers. “But none of this is Morgan’s fault. She is Mr Stark’s last creation on this earth, maybe you should give her a chance.”

“No.” You responded, lifting your head away, causing Peter to lift his eyebrows in shock.

“No?”

“You’re wrong.” You spoke. “She’s not the only family that I have left, I have you.” Inside, he had convinced you to want to improve your status with your half sister, but there was still one distraction left in the way. And it was him.

“And you always will.” He smiled, partially hating the comparison you had made to family. Did you think of him like a brother or cousin? Oh god, he hoped not.

It was a quick decision, one that Peter hadn’t see coming, but you pecked his lips, making him jump in surprise. But soon he returned for another, and another, and so on.

Loki Master List

Pairing: Loki x Reader

Warnings: just fluff!

Author’s Note: Takes place right after Avengers 1, with time travel elements and hints of Infinity Wars. Does NOT follow cannon after Avengers.

Your fingers trailed along the steel frame of the wall of windows lining the walkway. Outside the sun gave the illusion of warmth, even though you knew it was cold. For the moment you aimlessly wondered, having free time before meeting with Steve and Natasha. You’d begun learning to fight a few months back.

Since staying at the Compound, Loki spent most of his days working with Banner, occasionally meeting over video conference in disguise with the other members of the worldwide team Stark put together to plan the energy migration. There was a lot of work to be done, and it needed to happen at human pace… or at least a Stark and Banner pace… because Loki was supposed to be dead.

A flash startled you from your musings. Out in the lawn now stood Thor, looking serious. His eyes moved quickly about, and when they landed on you a bright smile lit his face. Odd, you thought the windows were solid black from the outside.

Thor pointed to the end of the building. You knew a door led outside there, so you began to walk in that direction. His long strides allowed him to be inside and climbing the open stairs to the second floor. His booming voice echoed down the hall as soon as he saw you.

“Ah! Lady Y/N!” He smiled. “How fare you?”

“Well,” You accepted his warm hug. “I’m doing well here.”

“And my brother?”

“Way better than I ever would have thought.” Steve Rogers’ voice interjected from the stairs. “When did you get here?”

“Just now.” The two shared a back slapping greeting.

“Come on down,” Steve motioned to the elevator with a tilt of his head.

The three of you descended to the lower laboratories of the complex. You could see Bruce leaning against a work table, one arm wrapped around his middle and the other hand rubbing his forehead. Loki paced the room talking animatedly with his hands.

He wore your favorite dark green silk shirt. It always made you want to rub against him. You paused at the door, admiring his graceful strides. Bruce must have thought your hesitation was something else, because he waved you in and met you at the glass sliding door.

“We’re just on audio.” He spoke quietly.

Loki argued with someone on the line about power consumption. His voice, not his own, sounded higher and with a distinct eastern seaboard accent. “I can assure you, Mr. Archer, this solution is not a temporary one. The need for your power plants to run on fossils will be forever obsolete.”

“If you think we’re going to leave our shareholders hanging while…” The anger in the man’s voice was unmistakable.

“This guy just won’t buy in.” Bruce rolled his eyes.

Loki saw you and waved you closer. Your arms automatically slid around his waist as his right arm pulled you closer. His body language looked calm and relaxed. He felt calm and relaxed to you. However, his voice held an all to human tension when he spoke. “I don’t want to call in the Council, Mr. Archer.”

This set the man off again. Loki just grinned.

“I’ll be calling the Secretary of Energy and Senator Rowlins about this.”

“Please do.” Loki replied. “Let them explain it you. You need to remember we’re offering this five year transition period and incentive package so your shareholders won’t unduly suffer. But if you refuse to adapt your plant to the new technology obtained from the alien research, or some other form of renewable energy, you’ll just be forced out of the game.”

“Do not dictate to me, young man!”

“No, I’m just pointing out your choices. Adapt or die, that’s the way of things. You’re being offered good recompence and decent amount of time. The Council could just release this technology tomorrow. What would that do you shareholdings?” Loki grinned.

You absently rubbed you fingers over his silk clad stomach. He loved this, upsetting these people’s world order, causing chaos in their shelter selfish worlds. It fed his mischievous nature.

“You’ll be hear from our lawyers!”

“Can’t wait.” Loki touched a button, ending the call. He pressed his lips to your forehead. “Miss me, my pet?”

“Always.” You grinned.

Thor and Steve watched the two of you from the hall. Cap leaned a little closer, whispering. “I think he really likes making all these world industry leaders dance.”

“What is the Midgardian saying? He’s using his powers for good?” Thor whispered back.

Steve chuckled. “I s’pose.”

“I never thought I would see him so calm.” Thor mused.

“Oh, he gets in a rage, gets frustrated.” Steve buried his hands in his pockets. “But it blows over, and he keeps his word, and so long as she’s safe… that keeps him… balanced.”

Thor nodded, lifting a hand when Loki’s eyes turned to him. A frown crossed the darker brother’s face. He pulled away from you and walked out to the hall. You followed.

“Thor.”

“Brother.”

They stared at one another. Finally, you broke the silence. “What brings you around? Everything okay? Or is this just a social visit.”

“Father asked me to come.” You felt Loki tense, but gave no indication as Thor continued. “Heimdall has been keeping his eyes on you and reporting on your activities.”

“If Heimdall is watching, then why send you?” He snapped.

“Loki.” You frowned, looking up at him. “Did you mean that to be as rude as it sounded?”

Thor’s brow arched in surprise. Steve bit his lip to hold back a grin, he learned chuckling at the way you corrected Loki was disastrous for everyone.

Loki looked down at your scowl and blew out air through his nose. “It’s old habits, I suppose.” He turned his eyes back to Thor, rewording his question. “So, what is it that Father wants?”

Though not an apology, the God of Thunder could scarcely believe his brother allowed you to admonish him, much less that he would heed your words. He knew the two of you shared a bond, knew that you’d touched each other’s minds. But, he could feel this was different.

“Perhaps we should discuss this in private.” Thor began to venture.

“You might as well spit it out, brother.” Loki rolled his eyes. “I’m not granted anything as privileged as privacy here.” Then he smirked. “Besides, there is no one in this company who would betray a trust.”

Thor crossed his arms and shrugged. “Father sent me, but it was a mother’s bidding.”

“What of mother?” Loki became instantly more in tune. You knew how he felt for her, knew how he missed her.

“She says something rare has occurred, says she can feel it in her magic.” Thor gave a lopsided grin. “Now that I’m here, I think she’s right.”

“What? Dammit, get to the point!”

“She says you’ve taken a mate.”

Loki’s mouth fell open. You and Steve looked at each other, confused. You never said in traditional words but no one doubted that you and Loki loved one another. So why was shock and confusion rolling through Loki’s mind.

“I don’t get it.” Banner looked between Thor and Loki.

“Our kind, our people, love and marry. It’s not unheard of, though they are not always monogamous. Even then there are exceptions, like our parents are now. But even early on, father was known to wander and mother had…”

“Don’t say that cretin’s name.” Loki scowled.

“But a mate,” Thor continued. “A pair that is tied together for the centuries of our lifetimes, is a rare thing. It is more common with the Alfheim, but it occurs with every race upon Yggdrasil. I don’t know if it was the touching of your minds, or if that was just a catalyst to what was destined to be, but I agree with mother. It’s true.”

A mixture of awe and elation filled you, only to be drowned in a crashing wave of sorrow and desperation. Your hand reached for Loki’s, and he gripped your fingers tightly. Tears filled your eyes as you tried to bite back a sob.

Steve said your name quietly, seeing the change.

You looked to him, tears falling silently. “I don’t have centuries. In what will seem like a blink of an eye, I will grow old and die and there’s nothing Loki can do to stop it.”

Cap’s face fell. He knew that heartache and would not wish it upon anyone, ever.

Thor’s strong hand gripped Loki’s shoulder. His other gently touched your cheek. “Do not do this. Do not mourn for what has not happen yet. Live joyously right now. I will tell Mother what I’ve seen. She will not allow such a tragedy to pass, especially when it’s within Father’s ability to prevent it.”

Loki gave him a sad smile. “I am sentenced to a century for my crimes. He’s not going to grant me an Apple with less than one in a hundred years served.”

“Mother is persuasive, you know better than most.” Thor beamed. “It may take a year, or five, or ten, but Mother and I will make Odin see what needs to be done.” Thor turned to you. “You understand of what we speak?”

The Apple of Immortality. You knew. Trying to weed through the bad memories of all the times Odin hurt and disappointed Loki, you searched for all the times Frigga’s influence worked upon their Father. Little concessions for the children to serious matters of state, she did hold sway over her husband. Suddenly you realized she held so much influence, that she used it sparingly as to not abuse it.

It might be okay after all.

You nodded slowly. “You mother is a formidable woman, kind, and she loves you both. Alright,” You smiled up at Loki, wiping your tears away. “There’s no point in wasting energy on worrying. You’re right, we live for today. But, Thor, we’re placing our trust in you.”

His big arms pulled you close, despite Loki’s growl, and he dropped a kiss into your hair. “I will not fail you, little sister. Mother is going to adore you.”

“Stop manhandling her,” Loki grumbled. “She is mine.”

You giggled, slipping from Thor’s bear hug and into Loki’s arms.

“How long are you staying?” Steve asked, not one hundred percent sure of the agreement, but satisfied that you were all happy.

“You need to tell her right way.” Loki answered at the same time Thor boomed “There is time to feast and celebrate!”

You squeezed Loki a little tighter. “We can wait a night. Maybe Thor will get you drunk and I’ll get to take advantage of you for a change.”

Loki’s eyes grew wide before he laughed heartily.

Yeah, you sighed, things were going to be alright.

I was fascinated when I learned two years passed in universe between Homecoming and Infinity War. Could you please make some kind of list of all the training / fun / bonding time you imagine Peter and Tony undoubtedly spent together between those movies? Thanks

I have a long list but I want to give you ‘things that are semi-canon’ for people who want to incorporate this info in their fanfics or just want to know more about irondad.

Things that are semi-canon

1. Doing projects together:

It’s semi-canon that Peter about helped tony build a program for kids interested in tech, see this post for info. Also, Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed Peter upgraded the web-shooters Tony made him, the only way Peter can upgrade such technology is in an advanced lab, and this happened between HOCO and IW, so guess who borrowed him a place to work?

Also: Tony’s invitation. Concept art for sure but since the Spider-Signal is something Peter used in Homecoming, this is pretty much canon.

2. Tony making projects about Peter:

Tony Stark founded the Worldwide Engineering Brigade or WEB, to develop advancements in super-powered technology and guess what’s his debut project? Spider-Man’s suit.

All of this is from Walt Disney Imagineering’s Global Marvel Portfolios, they work closely with Studios and Entertainment and with Ryan Meinerding, Head of Visual Development at Marvel Studios, he designed all of Spider-Man’s suits for the most recent films (Civil War, Homecoming, Infinity War, Endgame and Far from Home). ALSO, it was revealed that the organization is going to be incorporated into upcoming comics and movies, so yes we’re going to see this in future marvel movies so let’s just say this is also pretty much canon.

This is a Stark-founded organization with Spider-Man as the main inspiration. Let’s also take a moment to acknowledge that Tony made a vehicle called ‘Web-Slinger’ lmaooo

3. Tony gives Peter his own workshop/workspace at Stark Industries or his own lab:

YES, that’s right, now it’s pretty much canon just like in fanfics!

This is Peter’s commentary about Tony’s project about Spider-Man: ‘Now, you must be thinking: can’t Tony Stark just give all recruits a suit of armor or something? Why is he getting a bunch of science students and amateur inventors to make stuff? But, actually, it was Mr. Stark himself who said that he wanted to help up-and-coming inventors…See what we can come up with that maybe he hasn’t thought of. He’s even given us our own building/workshop to do that! Plus, he’s gotten people like Pym Technologies and the Wakandan Design Group to donate a lot of their old tech to WEB to see what we can reverse-engineer from it.‘

btw, to the people that SWEAR Tony is ‘jealous’ of other inventors… lmao He basically asked Hank, Hope, and Shuri to donate technology for genius students and inventors.

4. Tony gives Peter his credit card to buy whatever he wants:

Spoilers for Far from Home.

In FFH, Happy mentions that while Peter was staying at the Kurhotel Ströszek, he spent a night there before going home and he pay-per-viewed a video in his room to watch an adult film.

5. Peter has a room and visits the Avengers Compound:

As stated by Tony himself: ‘Happy will show you to your room…your new quarters. Where’s he between? He’s next to Vision.’

And between HOCO and IW, there’s a two-year gap, it’s safe to say Peter went there to train and possibly even spent nights in his own room. How do I know this?

Wanda said it herself in IW, ‘For two years, we’ve stolen these moments… trying to see if this could work and…I don’t know.’

Bruce as well: ‘Wow. You guys…really look like crap. Must’ve beena rough couple of years.’

In Ant-Man and the Wasp, the movie is before Infinity War:

‘He’s allowed to return to the U.S., provided he serve two years under house arrest’ ‘Give me a break. I haven’t driven in two years.’ ‘Oh, hey guys. Are my two years up already?’

6. Spider-Man and Iron Man fought together/did missions together and the public knows it:

This is for the social media irondad fanfic fans!

Spoilers for Far from Home.

In the movie, reporters asked Peter stuff that hardly a lot of people would know without Tony providing this information.

They asked Peter if he was the head Avenger now, they asked him what it’s like to take over from Tony Stark and that those are some big shoes to fill. Why are they asking Spider-Man out of all people when Thor is there, Bruce is there, Rhodey is there, Pepper is there, and the other amount of superheroes that are currently alive? I bet Tony never shut up about Spider-Man lmao.

Nick Fury repeatedly reminds Peter that Tony chose him and even tells him that Tony dedicated this quote to him: ‘Stark left these for you. Really? “Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.” Stark said you wouldn’t get that because it’s not a Star Wars reference.’ Something that wouldn’t happen if Peter wasn’t a topic of conversion very often.

Fury even tells Peter that everyone in SHIELD already knows who he is: ‘Remove the mask. Everyone here has seen you without it.’

And the way they work so well together in IW tells me enough.

Also, can we talk about how proudly Tony portrays Spider-Man everywhere?

7. Ironfamily spending time together:

I think it’s safe to say that the ironfam is no longer just a concept but something pretty much canon. I have the feeling Peter got to spend time with all of them, and here’s the evidence:

Pepper knew Peter back then in Homecoming and repeatedly tried to save him in Endgame. In Far from Home, Happy tells Peter that Pepper is sorry that she couldn’t attend to his charity and sent a check. She didn’t need to attend at all even if Peter was close to Tony, but she was going to and that should tell you something.

Happy’s been there for Peter as well since Homecoming, but he was really not that close to him, between those two years between HOCO and IW you can tell he got close to him as well giving by their interactions in Far from Home. He’s head of security and has the confidence of giving Peter his phone, his password and is there available for him anytime Peter needs it. Even if this is out of nowhere for me, the fact that Happy is practically dating Peter’s aunt, with May stating that she and Happy are always going to be friends no matter what.

This is a relationship that must’ve been developing between HOCO and IW because May did disappear during the Blip while Happy didn’t.

Rhodey knows Peter since Civil War, and he even teams up and goes along Peter’s plan back then. In Infinity War, when Bruce asks if there are an ant-man and a spider-man, Rhodey just shrugs like it’s something usual like he’s used to it. Last but not least, the fact that Rhodey steps away from Tony while he was dying to let Peter have his moment with him tells you A LOT.

This is a concept art from Endgame, Ironfam fighting together. The writers wanted this, so I’m going to take it as canon lmao

PRETTYMUCH, a band started by Mr. Simon Cowell, was recently signed to Sire records under Warner Music. Their new single, Stars, premiered last Friday and on the same day, they released the artwork for their new EP, featuring three (3) brand new tracks that their fans aka ‘BEANZ’ are eagerly anticipating.

From the artwork it is obvious that PRETTYMUCH has always been a band that pays tribute to the iconic era of boybands in the 90s like NSYNC and Backstreet Boys who sing and dance. Therefore, their new EP “Smackables”, has never been more on brand for them. Resembling a famous nostalgic American snack, Lunchables, it is no wonder the EP art is so synonymous with their image of reviving the love for boy bands whilst putting their own modern-day spin on the term. Especially with the usage of the CD, it is very clear what inspires them and their sound/style of music.

This deliciously packaged EP features the band members of PRETTYMUCH on the front cover outlined in a light pastel yellow. The colors used are mainly a sky-blue color and darker blue edges at the end of the letter. By doing so, the blue contrasted with the yellow helps the text stand out and makes it draws the attention of someone who’s looking at the image for the first time. Their album name “Smackables” spans across the top half of the lower third of the album art in a san-serif font called “Neue Frutiger” (Fig.2).

As previously established that it is similar to that of the Lunchables packing, “Smackables”, can be interpreted as their new EP having really good songs that they are confident enough to put out and after hearing the songs, dare I say, it smacks, especially “Parking Spot”. This is further reinforced by the plastic-type wrapping that is constant throughout the EP art. This can be interpreted as the EP being brand new and freshly sealed for the viewer’s enjoyment when they slowly begin to discover the art that they have put, and it can also indicate how their tunes are always fresh.

Their band name is positioned directly above the letters ‘A’ and ‘C’ in “Smackables”, where the letter H, became the line that surrounds their band name, separating it from the album title. It is also in the same shade of color as their EP name which brands them as a band, and it lets viewers know that this EP belong to PRETTYMUCH.

On the bottom right, their track list is being released in white san-serif fonts. Behind the track list is a logo created that has the words PM, PRETTYMUCH worldwide and est. Los Angeles in dark blue. These words are in a circle and almost resemble the shape of a seal that can be interpreted as them making their mark on the world but also not forgetting where they belong. This is complemented by the bottom left-hand side where they again state the words “PM EP” and an infinity sign which resembles the Lunchables’ nutritional information indicators on the packaging. This can be an indication from the fan’s point-of-view that they are here to stay, and they are going to constantly keep making music for the world to hear. Next to the letters there are photos of them in yellow and blue stating their names where the first letter of their names spells the word BEANZ, which is also the name of their fandom. The top right-hand corner does the same where a globe is depicted in neon type colors and there is a ticket on the bottom stating the year their EP is dropping which is 2021.

The graphics and elements of the photo have been arranged in a hierarchy whereby it draws your attention to the respective portions that the band wants you to see which would first be the title of the EP, their faces and the bottom right which features their track list if you pay close attention. The EP has done very well when it incorporates the usage of bright colours which allows the band members to stand out from the background. This is because the CD behind them reflects a lot of light which might be very distracting to the viewers when looking at it visually and takes away the focus from the members. Fortunately, the designer has managed to see that and put a bright yellow outline around the member’s very vintage-looking image so that the band does not blend in with the background. However, I think if it were me, I would try a white border around the members instead, so it makes them stand out a bit more instead of the yellow. This is because when I looked at it at first glance, it was a bit jarring and the stroke was a little thick. I do understand that it is probably because of the color scheme that they designers are decided to go with yellow in the end.

Moreover, all these elements being put together can be an indication that PRETTYMUCH as a band are here to stay and they’re constantly making music as if they never left. This is a very successful part of their artwork as the message is very clear to the viewers that the band is first and foremost releasing a new EP titled “Smackables” and their songs are going to be heard around the world. The infinity sign could also be an indication of how their songs will be so iconic that they will be remembered forever and that’s what the band is aiming to achieve with their new music.

In conclusion, this EP design has been an overall success as it conveys what they wanted to to their fans. It also showcases a new era for PRETTYMUCH as they continue doing what they do best which is producing music for everyone, mainly their fans, to enjoy and relate to.

SoulStoneMate AU

Hello, fellow MCU maniacs, as we all mourn and celebrate the ending of a 22 film journey, I jumped onto the tumblr bandwagon and fel more in love with Peter Parker/Spider-Man/Tom Holland than before. SO I'm dusting off my creatively blocked brain with some fic even though I haven't written anything in months. This is also my first Marvel fic, so pretty please bear with my crap.

Across the Universe

A slight AU inspired by the original fan theory that those snapped by Thanos were all more or less coherent in the Soul Stone. The stone draws out internal truths that you never know existed, all while getting to know Spider-Man.

Warnings: Infinity War and eventual Endgame angst.

Nothing more than a shade, you wandered around the orange abyss for who knew how long. It felt like days, maybe even weeks, since you felt your body fall backwards into oblivion, fading to darkness and waking up here.

Alone.

You had no idea what was happening, one minute your boyfriend was getting down on one knee and the next was this.

Did you fall and obtain a traumatic head injury? A coma inducing seizure? You couldn't know, struggled for days to listen for his voice, a hospital monitor beeping, anything. But nothing.

You’d already screamed, already cried, bargained. You’d gone through the five stages the situation allowed. You were pretty sure your life was over, but whatever this afterlife was, you figured it could've been worse. Lonely, but not a tormenting loneliness. You could handle it, though you mildly longed for interactions.

So much, in fact, you thought you were hearing voices, now. It was faint, but echoes bounced between your ears. Maybe you were going crazy.

“We’re not alone, don't give up.”

You startled at the clear whisper. It was a young woman, voice shaking and teary, but loud and calm enough to be heard. You didn't know the voice, but it was cathartic to hear.

And just like that, people started materializing.

You heard shouting and crying and screaming and joy and desolation and confusion and people.

It looked like families and friends were reuniting, questions with no answers thrown into the air. Seemingly, everyone here was brought back to their closest acquaintances, likely who they were with when The Event happened, based on chatter you overheard. You searched for your boyfriend and came up with no one. Like you, not everyone was lucky, some remained alone, sadly and uncomfortably holding themselves, and you felt the urge to console as many as possible, despite your loss, if that's what you could call it.

The consensus was that some sort of virus struck worldwide, killing off at least half of the population. Then the aliens showed up. You were from New York, so the alien battle against the planet’s mightiest heroes a few years ago already made you aware of such reality, however other humans did not take so kindly. Luckily, in this afterlife, violence was impossible on all parts of the spectrum. But as more materialized, it became clear: not just Earth, but the entire universe, had been obliviated.

No one you knew ever appeared near you. You supposed you were grateful, this meant they’d all survived. You tried to reach out to others like you, The Singles, this world coined the term. Some of them were welcoming and some were aloof. You still offered friendship to the latter, grieving comes in many forms and you could keep it together by supporting others. You made a close friend, Nath, who was from Coney Island and majored in Film at NYU.

You guys toss around theories and small talk and film analyses nonstop, no time existed and sleep wasn't a necessity in this world, though you could and if you willed it hard enough, you could create a sort of architecture, food, landmark, almost as if you're heart could bring it into existence. The food was never as good and none of the buildings were as solid, but slowly, the community of Goners created a hodgepodge of places to thrive in.

You and Nath were analyzing The Dark Knight trilogy when you heard the same female voice, less shaken than before.

“If anyone out there can hear me, my name is Wanda Maximoff. You might know me as Scarlet Witch, of the Avengers. To anyone listening, those of our team that were Snapped have important information.”

The Soul World, as was you were now properly informed, fell into a collective silence. You listened as your ‘Snapped’ heroes reported the facts. The Mad Titan and his quest for balance collected some stones and you were all trapped in the Soul Stone. You weren't technically dead. The Avengers back on Earth could still find a way to bring you back, but how and when was unclear. Doctor Strange, from that weird library you passed by on your bus route, was blunt. One out of 14 million. But he was heavily relying on that singular chance.

Then, the theories. The Soul Stone was powered by true self, hence why people you cared about and things you loved were available to you. It was a very uplifting notion, you realized, as it meant everyone was naturally, inherently good. In reality, people harmed others out of fear and hatred grown by fear. No one feared here, this was almost rock bottom, hence why violence never appeared. Emotion was stronger here, and your own soul would gravitate to truths. Strange advised that this would be a long waiting period, but a good self journey awaited those who needed it.

But despite everything, meeting Nath and recreating your room from home and all of your favorite places, you longed for your boyfriend, whose name seemed like a fading memory. You were going to say yes, despite being seniors in high school. You were going to spend forever with him, and you knew he was mourning for you, but that the remaining Avengers would inform the world and he would wait with a hopeful heart.

So why were you not remembering your first date or his favorite color or what he wanted to major in?

And how in this godforsaken piece of shit rock prison did you end up running straight into your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man?

“Sorry,” the masked hero managed out, as you rubbed the spot on your shoulder that made contact with the...iron suit?

“‘S’cool,” you were able to say easily. “Nice new suit.”

“Oh, oh yeah,” he looked down, like he forgot what he was wearing. “I got it from Mr. Stark; I was wearing it to breathe in space before we got all dusty.”

“You were in space?” You gasped. “You weren't with you parents? I'm so sorry!” Really, you figured he about your age, so this must be just as hard for him as it was for you.

“I was with Mr. Sta-Iron Man, technically,” he shakes his head. “He looked really upset and I felt really bad that I couldn’t stay with him, but I know he’ll figure this out. He’s the smartest man I know.” He waved his arms emphatically.

“Well we all knew that,” you giggled. “He's fucking Iron Man.” You frowned. “Your parents, though?”

“My parents passed away long before The Snap,” his voice wavered slightly. “My Aunt May isn't here, so she must be worried sick, especially after she lost Uncle Ben, but I think Mr. Stark will do his best to help her understand.” He paused. “Plus she knows I'm Spider-Man. And my best friends are all here, Ned knows too but I'm don't suit up when I see everyone else.”

“I'm assuming your on patrol then?” You pondered. “Falcon said something about that to assure the masses that we’ll be okay.”

“Er, kinda,” a blue and red arm tried to scratch the back of his head. “I do, but I'm not assigned this area, despite it being predominantly New Yorkers. Strange’s area.”

“Oh? Then what brought you here?”

“I just felt drawn to this area, more specifically, your location, right here.”
