2. honestly, i love mtf adrien .. also i love the idea that while she’s chat noir it plays off the way canonically adrien feels more like himself as chat noir !! so she’s more comfortable presenting how she likes/the way she wants to look :)

Someone posted a fic in ml salt about Marinette being transphobic towards mtf Adrien and trying to force "being a boy" on them, I wanna gouge my eyes out

that is....damn that is a whole can of worms. like WOW. first of all making Marinette transphobic when, as far as canon goes, she is the most compassionate, understanding and NICE person in the show?? talk about a reach oh my god.

and idk anything about the author of this particular fic, so i'm not going to shit on them in this regard, but it is very, very dangerous territory for people who aren't mtf trans writing mtf trans characters who are canonically presented as male, and vice versa.

like, we perceive Adrien as like, a boy in canon. writing him as a trans girl (when you're not mtf trans) really plays into the perception/negative stereotype/belief that trans girls are just boys called girls. which uh?? incorrect.

i'm not explaining this very well but basically: fics and headcanons about characters being trans: good! excellent!

fics and headcanons about characters presented as boys in-canon, where they are mtf trans: not good! leaning into transphobia! abort abort!

if you're not the specific kind of trans you're writing your character to be about, and you're writing a male character as mtf trans or a female character as ftm trans...mmmmm. abort mission. rethink your ideas about trans people like, yesterday.

like?? idk if the author of this particular fic is mtf trans so i'll reserve my judgement against them specifically.

I was thinking of trans Adrien, both trans! ftm and mtf Adrien, with a dash of Adrien x Nino x Alya because just, the vibes of introducing your significant other to your family to has had a bad home life and that family immediately adopting them but it’s Nino’s beautiful Muslim Arab and Alya’s stunning French Martinique family who are both ginormous and Adrien goes from boy with no family to boy with BIGGEST FAMILY?!! Also, trans girl Adrien with long hair in this situation. Long, beautiful blonde locks going down to like say her knees or something, and everyone is like “*she’s Rapunzel*”. JUST ADRIEN WITH PRETTY LONG HAIR IS ALL IM THINKING ABOUT.

I decided on her name being Angel! She wanted to keep her initials but didnt want something too close to her birth name. Anyway i ADORE THIS they all deserve so much love
