first: the title. he is holding a knife is *strangely reminiscent* to the line from the old oak doors plot, “he is holding a cat” when cecil comes back from the otherworld and stops kevin and lauren… not sure what that means yet.

How do you feel about your legal name? Are you using it online and/or IRL? I do love my full legal name. My first name is Cheyanne but I just go by Chey (pronounced like shy…I do get a lot of people who pronounce it more the shay, it doesn’t really bug me though lol)

How about your sign? Do you feel it fits you? I’m a Gemini and do feel like it fits me pretty well, but sooo many people are mean about it. I believe more in the compatibility aspect rather than the traits like I buttheads with almost every Scorpio I meet (my older sister, my son and my niece) and I fall in love with almost every cancer I meet (my husband and my best friend). I also get along heavily with June geminis (bestie of 10 years) but not so much other may geminis (my brother in law) 😂

What’s your earliest memory related to your birthday? My mom waking me up, singing me happy birthday and having a Bob the Builder birthday cake! I believe I was 4?

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received? I’ll be honest without trying to trauma dump, I was really poor growing up so I didn’t have any birthday celebrations and so I don’t really celebrate my birthday however this year my mother in law did gift me with some beautiful wine, martini and champagne glasses. I don’t really drink but I do enjoy having them when I’m hosting something at my house!

How about the best gift you’ve ever given yourself? I let myself commission works from both @artofobsession and @doodlevich for two different stories. I loved them endlessly, but the fics are no longer on my Ao3 as I went through a really low period and orphaned pretty much all of my works and just never went back to save the art pieces again cause I feel bad 😭

What’s Your favorite cake flavor? I’ll be honest I’m a cake girly. And while marble (vanilla/chocolate) is my favorite I will do unholy things for any cake, chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, strawberry, carrot. You name it I’ll most likely eat it lol

How about your favorite flowers? My favorite flowers are Magnolias. They are beautiful and the smell reminds me of home as they grow all over the state, I even have a magnolia tattoo. I also love honeysuckle and I grew up eating them as a kid!

Have you ever thrown a birthday party? If yes tell us about your favorite one. Never for myself. However I love throwing parties for my son and my husband! My husband’s birthday just past in July and I surprised him by decorating the house, I made a homemade cookie cake, invited close family and he BBQed with his dad☺️

What’s the intimate birthday song? Honestly whatever comes on when I hit the early 2000 hit’s playlist on Spotify 😂

Entrapdak Zine 6 - Festive. Submissions OPEN!

Apologies for the delay in getting this open Please feel free to check out the Entrapdak Secret Santa event I’m also running at the moment (links are in my pinned post)

Anyway this is the post for Entrapdak Zine 6 - Festive!

The deadline for this will be Friday DEC 1st 2021 at 9AM GMT. What’s that in your timezone? Click here for a Handy Dandy Countdown:

I am flexible on this Deadline so anything that arrives on this date or by my 9am the next day is allowed (I’m in the GMT timezone BTW)

I am LESS flexible on the Extension Deadline

The Zine will be out before Christmas.  The actual date is flexible and dependant on when all the Submissions come in and my own personal work schedule.

So most of this is the same as the last few - really if it ain’t broke don’t fit it!  Also a polite reminder I am only one person running this and I am a part time Barista.  It may take me a little time to reply to emails/comments especially after the deadline time (when I have the most amount of work to do on this project) so please be patient with me.

Our basic guidelines are the same as before, with just a few minor updates:

This will be:

A Digital Zine containing content created by the fans for the fans

A 100% Free Zine

Preferred Language is English

SFW content suitable for a Y7-PG13 age range (same as the show’s age rating)

You may notice I run this different to other zines as there is no sign up period, just submit work before the deadline - I’d rather people have more time to work on their pieces 

Anyone can submit regardless of age or skill level - this is not a job application - just follow the guidelines and email in your work

Submission can be Fan Writing (poems, fan fiction, character analysis, eassys etc), Fan Art, or even photos of your Entrapdak IRL content (cosplays, fancrafts etc)!  You can submit an older work that you have published online previously if you wish - or even update a work you submitted to the last Zine! Just have fun!

Like the show this Zine will contain content rated Y7 and PG13 rated - so please no swearing 

There WILL BE NO NSFW or 18+ content - where possible let’s keep this suitable for all ages please 

Sub note on character minimum clothing requirements: 

for male presenting characters to be speedos/underpants

for female presenting characters to be a bikini/bra and underpants 

if not sure please use the female presenting criteria

This issue’s theme if you wish to use it is:

This theme is a suggestion and if you’d rather make an Entrapdak piece without this theme please feel free to do so. I want you to have fun!

Allowed Characters:

As long as both Entrapta and Hordak are the main focus and the piece follows Age Rating it will be allowed.

Other allowed characters in the Entrapdak family include Emily, Imp and the Clones (also known as Spacebats)…yes weirdly this also  includes Horde Prime.

Other She-Ra characters will be allowed but Entrapdak is to be the core element.

Fan Writing guidelines:

This includes fan fiction, analysis eassys, poetry or whatever else you’d like to write about.  I would ask this content to be between 1k-10k words in length, it’s not a big deal if the writing is over 10k or even if it’s 20k - write whatever your story needs. If you’d like to write Chapters then please do!

Written work can be emailed in the body of text, sent as pdf attachment or as a link to a Google Doc - I can work with any of those.

Please include you name/username somewhere as it helps. If there’s no name on the piece I’ll add one at the start with the title.

Fan Art guidelines:

Fan art can include rough sketches, screencap redraws, comics (appox 1-10 pages length), coloured sketches or full colour pieces. 

Fan art can be in the digital or traditional medium.  

Traditional fan art can either be submitted as a photo or scanned, which ever you prefer.

Preferred sizing for Digital art is as follows, my aim to to have everything on International (UK) A4 paper sizing where possible*

Portrait layout is preferred**

PNG is preferred but I will understand if you only wish to send a workable JPEG

The aspect ratio (width:height) of A4 paper is 1:1.4142 (1:√2)

*Images outside these sizings are still okay but may end up with a white border on the edges due to the PDF publishing settings.

Please note I DO NOT KEEP any records of anyone’s email addresses.  When the Zine is out I batch delete all emails sent to the email address (this is usually done a week after the Zine is out) and I keep no further records of these address. I respect your email privacy at all times.  

The only records I keep on Zine applications is a private Google Sheet that has the following details: Submitter’s name, rough description of the item submitted and their social media contacts. I’m the only person with access to this Google Sheet as I use this as a Master List reference when compiling the Zine

Why no Application form?

I don’t want anyone to feel like they are applying for a job here, this is supposed to be fun.

Will there be Guest Artists or Guest Writers?

If they apply sure, I’m not advertising who applies to be a part of this Zine until it’s ready to be published.  I don’t want anyone to feel intimidated just because a certain person has chosen to participate.

Can I submit more than one piece?

If you’d like to certainly!  If you’d like to submit up to three pieces of art and 3 fan writings, sure go for it! I’m certainly not going to stop anyone having a good time

May I post a preview of my work to my Followers?

Sure! Bonus points if you link them to this post so that they can take part if they wish

May I post my work online?

I would ask if you could please wait until the issue featuring your work is published. Of course this does not apply if you are chosen to submit and older work - in this case may I ask that you edit or add to said post to mention the work was also used in the Zine?

Is this only for people with a [insert certain social media account here]?

Nope, this is for anyone who wants to take part.  I only ask for a social media contact so that others who like you work for the Zine may follow you on your preferred social media platform.

Can I send an update to a piece?

Of course! Just let me know which piece you want to use and I’ll update on my end

Can I send another piece on later?

Of course that’s not a problem!

thinky thoughts

i was driving home with a friend yesterday, a friend i've had almost 20 years now, who was my very first internet friend in the early aughts when feminist blogging was in its heyday and who has become an irl friend now that i've moved to the mainland. she has functioned as a big sister in my life all this time. i love her to pieces, and my life has significantly improved with her in it.

we were talking about how weird it is to think the age our children were when we met, and the ways their lives and our lives have changed over the course of our friendship. we both started out single mothers stuck in poverty, and had our respective journeys out of those circumstances during which we've been supportive to one another, helping each other out when we had the means to do so. we've veered in and out of connected interests. i'm a gamer, she's never been into games and more often than not has no idea what i'm talking about. i have no grasp of interior design or fashion, and she has a knack for these things. but we take interest enough to appreciate what these things mean to each other. we've had disagreements and even fights over the years, but at the end of it we found the relationship to be worth the work you put in to maintaining it.

i met my best friends over fifteen years ago through fandom. we formed a fast kinship out of what we joke to be our objectively correct fandom opinions, mostly about the same character from that fandom. over the course of time we've wandered out of overlapping fandoms, supporting one another in our interests even though we didn't share them. i've read some of their fic in those fandoms. i've reblogged art of characters i know nothing about. we find dumb ways to show our interest in their interest. we found the connections beneath the fandoms, the human bonds, and built something enduring and beautiful that i can honestly say i could not be the person i am today without. even when we eventually fell into the same fandom again, we wound up engaging with it in very different ways. but we support each other, gently rib one another over "being wrong" and realize that at the end of the day, those things are ephemeral. our friendship endures.

i met my spouse almost 20 years ago, about the same time i met my big sister. we met through a job, both having come from backgrounds of poverty. we both enjoyed gaming (he started me on my first mmo), but quickly discovered we like very different games, but even when we play the same games we engage with them in very different ways. we share almost no other interests. he likes action movies, i like dumb comedies. he listens to goth and rockabilly, and i'm a classic rock and pop princess. he's read about a third of one of three of my original novels, one of my published shorts stories (he helped me work out the science i used) and (thank fuck) none of my fanfiction. but he shares my work with others, listens to me natter on about games he doesn't play, and we even will watch movies together because we enjoy time together, and i like to bite him at random intervals to keep it real and go with him to look at parts for his bike.

my point (i actually have one) is that in order to build long-term relationships you have to find the connections beyond the fleeting. you remember that your big sis loves pink lipstick so you send her a trinket bowl shaped like pink lips, or that 'none pizza with left beef' makes your spouse lose it until they cry laughing. that one of your besties has a laugh that carries over even your own loud one making music of the two of you, and the other will chase canada gooses with abandon until you fall in the grass in delight. you smile when they talk about their favorite actual play podcast and squeal over their tattoo that is inspired by an anime you've never seen. you bring up old shit to drag them and never let them live down the goofs that made you all laugh until you cried. you send them dumb cards or plants when their life is hard and you can't be there to make them soup when they're sick. you do these things because you love them. you love them for all the bits and pieces that comprise their whole even when those things don't align with your own. you might find the initial connection in the shared interests, but you build bonds separate from those through the commonality of your humanity.

relationships, platonic, not, and familial, take work. you have to put in effort. you don't have to like the same things, but you do have to have room to allow those varied and separate interests to shine in who they are. you take delight in their joy and share comfort in their sorrow. you talk to them. you reach out to them. you show that they matter to you more than your differences. that's love. that's something that endures.

favorite oc: This may be shocking. But it is this guy named Twitch. I may have mentioned him once or twice (times a million). im not the best at art so most of these pics will be by other people. this one is by @patchmates

newest oc: had to go back in my works but the most recent person i have created from the depths of my mind was a CG medic named Eq (short for Equilibrium). He’s the senior specialist on sedatives and anesthetics.

oldest oc: oh man i actually have this one oc that started somewhat as a self insert but then she changed so much she is just too different from me to think that anymore. To make a several year long story short. She has plant powers and enhanced physical abilities and is an actual empath. She’s a classic grumpy lone wanderer with a soft spot for kids. I've managed to dig out two pictures of her. She usually uses the second suit and with a staff. She has a piece of a wood from Yggsadrl which is unbreakable and invulnerable to magic. Her name (which has changed at least 4 times over the years) is The Dryad/ Rose something.

meanest oc: I have a hard time making “mean” ocs, but the grumpiest is probably Croissant. He’s my main Corrie medic. He is tired in a way that has nothing to do with Coruscant (not that it helps) and prefers a good trivia book to people in general.

softest oc: Yeah that’s definitely Twitch. #1 Soft guy and I love him for it.

most standoffish/aloof oc: Yeah thats Dryad. Despite being an empath she does not trust easily. Plus she has teleportation abilities so she travels alone a lot. 

dumbest oc: hard to say. all my ocs tend to be smart in different ways. Twitch is a genius when it comes to people but has no tactical abilites, Dryad has knowledge of all botany because of her powers but can’t manage much tech. I have a Mandalorian blacksmith somewhere too.

EXPERIENCE: OOoh boy buckle up. I used to RP WAAAAAAAY back in the day in a chatroom called animechatroom I think (I was like...10 ok). Then I moved from there to GaiaOnline in middle school. And I RP'd in the forums on Gaia until the end of my freshman year of high school where I started on tumblr with my bestie irl. I had a humanized Rainbow Dash blog from MLP: Friendship is Magic. PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS: I have a few things to list and explain!

I have a harder time with threads that aren't plotted. They don't have to be super extensive, I just need enough of a direction to go on so that things don't get stale.

I would prefer that we at least chat a bit before actually starting to RP. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I likely won't respond to starter posts that haven't been discussed with me prior to seeing it pop up on my dashboard.

PLOTS OR MEMES: I highly prefer plots over memes! But that doesn't mean we can't meme on the side! Just know that plots will get more attention than memes!

LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: As you've probably already noticed, I tend to write fucking novels with most of my threads. I don't expect anyone to ever match my length, but I need something to work with more than a single paragraph or a handful of sentences. I get really excited about Cyra interacting with other muses and I can't help myself when it comes to telling stories.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: Honestly, whenever I'm awake and not playing games or working on art. You could message me at any point in the day and I will respond the moment I see the notification pop up.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: I firmly believe that I've taken a few aspects of myself and exaggerated them a bit to better fit my idea of who Cyra is as an individual and using my own lived experiences to help me write her better. Not everything she does is something I would do, and not everything I would do is something she would do. A lot of her personality is inspired from multiple sources, but her desire to help people is one thing that is definitely derived from myself. If anything, Cyra is more like my cats than me. XD

You know it’s not….

So, I’ve been really absent from here, and from myself, and from writing. All of that is a little bit heartbreaking for me.

But, you know it’s not the same as it was.

I started my journey here probably 6-7 years ago. It was so exciting to find people who were like minded. Even more exciting was finding myself, finding the writer in me. I remember when I started writing and sharing and any interaction made me “feel like John Grisham” (name that movie). Over time, like any addictive substance, the comments, excitement and interactions kept coming and growing, and then I just grew a tolerance and like Britney all I could say was “gimme moar.” When I didn’t always get it, I found it demoralizing.

As time went on, after the highs, came the lows. Writing became harder, the time for it dried up, the comments slowed, and I just, missed it, but couldn’t find my voice daily, or weekly, eventually monthly, and we haven’t reached yearly yet( thank God).

And then the pandemic descended.

And you know, nothing was the same as it was.

I’m highly extroverted, my url is no lie, and I thrive on experience, my own and others, and others or people in general. Depression hit hard and disappointment was her bestie. They were a one two combo that sometimes I thought would do me in.

And you know, I really wanted everything to be the same as it was.

When COVID “ended” or at least life went on despite it, I just wanted to get on and recreate the life when I was happiest, but too much has changed and me with it.

I may never churn out two chapters a week, have a group of amazing ladies to bounce ideas off of and make playlists and graphics with who I talk to relentlessly again. I may never find the discipline to write chaptered fic the way I used to. But, I might.

You know it’s not the same as it was.

And that might be ok. All that said, and wow if you’ve made it this far: I’m feeling like my old self, or at least a version of her. I’m teaching fitness again, my daughters are thriving, I’m still in love with my husband, I have close connections irl and online, music, art and cinema are inspiring again, and I feel clearer than I have in years.

It’s time to stop longing for the way that it was, the way we were, and to make something new.

I’m gonna write something here everyday, sometimes little journal rants like this, a one shot, a lyric meditation, a metaphor, just something. Some will focus on Harry, cuz, duh, but not all of it. And maybe I’ll find her again, writer me.

She may not be the same as she was. I have to try to meet her here though, because maybe she’ll be better.

I'm a bit embarrassed to say this, but you're the only reason why I come onto Tumblr every day. When you reply to my stuff, I get so excited! I like seeing your art, but I also like you! /p

I think you're a really cool person, even though i know you've said that you sorta put on a persona so you don't come off as "rude".

I have a feeling we would have been friends, or at least acquaintances, if we had known each other irl.

Also, I'd suggest getting a pocket knife or something for when you go to college, since you'll be going at night. And make sure to have someone who you can text or call to tell them when you leave the house and college and when you've arrived back. If you feel unsafe, pretend to call a friend and say something like, "Yea, I'm almost to you." and, I hate to say this, but make it seem like a man is on the other line, or call a male friend. It's just how society is, even though it sucks. The deeper the voice, the better. My friend did this with me a few times.

HI BABE HOW ARE YOU this means a lot to me you're so sweet hope you dont mind the long answer😭😭😭 I feel like I'm more myself here lately, when I just started I felt like the slightest bit of sass would upset people so I pretty much acted like fuckin spongebob in hopes that people would like me. Then I started dropping one or two jokes and finally felt a bit safer. I just act a bit more over the top than I would irl (like answering with lots of emojis and caps so I don't sound cold and dry) and I also more like I would with close friends instead of strangers! When people get to know me I am in fact an loud clown that loves to be the center of attention.

I'm just used to people disliking me at first because when it comes to strangers I'm always called "stuck up, intimidating, and scary" BUT I'M JUST SOME GUY. Guys approach me A BIT more often that girls but truth is everyone thinks I'm "mean" at first sight and I'm not... But I kind of internalized that belief that everyone thinks I'm rude and stuck up.

As for safety with going to college at night, yeah, my only concern is people who carry guns and pocket knives with them. I'm not a rational person when I'm angry, when I told the story about fighting the guy who tried to rob me everyone's answer was "You're insane, what if they have a gun?" But girl I wasnt going home without ending the chat with my then-bestie about her ex, if that dude wanted my phone he was gonna have to WORK for it and catch these hands 😭 and he lost so what🙄💅🏻

here's the story- i've been waiting to tell you something, which is that all you have to do in order to think of a story to write is to just start by thinking of a story and then like, writing it,,,... so okay i'm writing little synopsissss

There's this woman who may or may not be a genius; she's not sure, but she's either a genius and her life really is like, INCREDIBLE; or, she is actually so deluded and nutso, like TOTALLY crazy that she has been, in fact, hallucinating her whole entire life. Like, right now, I guess let's call her Isabelle-- Isabelle is 29 years old and is currently either in Croatia on a private yacht with her like, hot and somehow humble boyfriend who cherishes her but doesn't like suffocate her, who like actually GETS her and who also like can banter back, who like used to be a musician but now just like, owns and runs a yacht charter company so he's gone like all the time and leaves her alone (thank GOD), but he's not a sailor who's heart belongs to the sea like this is a fukin Hemingway story or anything; he, let's call him Art (because hes like an art boy and also bc my ex HATES this guy irl named Art), anyway so Art just like oversees everything with the yacht company but also gets to take Isabelle wherever she wants to go like whenever and he is super chill so he also lets her take yacht trips with her besties by herself and doesn't bombard her with like 27 minutes worth of voice notes while she's gone; anyway, isabelle is either there right now tanning with her bestie Hannah somewhere on the Adriatic sea (lets say Art actually didn't come or whatever he's just like on shore somewhere), OR she's in the psych ward at McLean Hospital in Belmont Massachusetts, hallucinating all of this while she sits in bed on an assload of drugs that she doesn't even KNOW about because her husband Art is actually ugly and evil and his secretly dosing her with [drug of choice], and, without her knowledge, has arranged for her to be the first ever human recipient of a brain transplant from an unknown donor source. Actually, if it is the latter, she's in a secret basement under McLean in Belmont MA, next to a bunch of pipes and stuff, where it definitely smells like piss, undergoing the following preparation (of course, without her knowledge as she is heavily medicated and dreaming about the adriatic, which she's obviously too poor to ever go to, really) in anticipation of said brain transplant, undergoing a series of extensive tests and surgical preparations.

Entrapdak Zine 5 - “Nostalgia” is now open for submissions!!

Did you know this issue will mark two years of this Entrapdak Zine? I’m just as surprised as you!

Right let’s down to business!

The deadline for this issue will be Saturday JULY 1st 2021 at 9AM GMT.

I am flexible on this Deadline so anything that arrives on this date or by my 9am the next day July 2nd is allowed (I’m in the GMT timezone BTW)

I am LESS flexible on the Extension Deadline (see FAQs Section for more information on that)

The Zine will be out mid July the actual date is flexible and dependant on when all the Submissions come in and my own personal work schedule.

So most of this is the same as the last few - really if it ain’t broke don’t fit it!  Also a polite reminder I am only one person running this and I am a part time Barista.  It may take me a little time to reply to emails/comments especially after the Deadline time (when I have the most amount of work to do on this project) so please be patient with me.

Our basic guidelines are the same as last issue.  This is:

A Digital pdf Zine containing content created by the fans for the fans

A 100% Free Zine

Preferred Language is English

SFW content suitable for a Y7-PG13 age range (same as the show’s age rating)

You may notice I run this different to other zines as there is no sign up period, just submit work before the deadline - I’d rather people have more time to work on their pieces 

Anyone can submit regardless of age or skill level - this is not a job application - just follow the guidelines and email in your work

Submission can be Fan Writing (poems, fan fiction, character analysis, eassys etc), Fan Art, or even photos of your Entrapdak IRL content (cosplays, fancrafts etc)!  You can submit an older work that you have published online previously if you wish - or even update a work you submitted to the last Zine! Just have fun!

Allowed Characters:

As long as both Entrapta and Hordak are the main focus and the piece follows Age Rating it will be allowed.

Other allowed characters in the Entrapdak family include Emily, Imp and the Clones (also known as Spacebats)…yes weirdly this also  includes Horde Prime.

Other She-Ra characters will be allowed but Entrapdak is to be the core element.

Fan Writing guidelines:

This includes fan fiction, analysis eassys, poetry or whatever else you’d like to write about.  I would ask this content to be between 1k-10k words in length, it’s not a big deal if the writing is over 10k or even if it’s 20k - write whatever your story needs. If you’d like to write Chapters then please do!

Written work can be emailed in the body of text, sent as pdf attachment or as a link to a Google Doc - I can work with any of those.

Please include you name/username somewhere as it helps. If there’s no name on the piece I’ll add one at the start with the title.

Fan Art guidelines:

Fan art can include rough sketches, screencap redraws, comics (appox 1-10 pages length), coloured sketches or full colour pieces. 

Fan art can be in the digital or traditional medium.  

Traditional fan art can either be submitted as a photo or scanned, which ever you prefer.

Preferred sizing for Digital art is as follows, my aim to to have everything on International (UK) A4 paper sizing where possible*

Portrait layout is preferred**

PNG is preferred but I will understand if you only wish to send a workable JPEG

10 Favorite Moments of Snark in BL

This one came is as an ask from the lovely @solitaryandwandering and there are tons of options so I just picked some of mine and labeled them top 10. I reserve the right to change my mind if a remember better.  

Quite a few of these came from truly terrible BLs, I wonder if that has to do with me remembering them. Like they stood out as moments of delightful charm in a sea of sewage? 

1. Just talk!

Ae getting annoyed with TinCan in A Chance At Love. 

Of course it’s MAME first, but the idea of her using one of her most popular characters (whom she fucked over) to criticize miscommunication as a narrative driver (which is her fucking calling card) was just the ironic poop version of a chef’s kiss. (Sorry, I don’t know how else to put it.) 

2. Saucing out of jealousy 

Let’s just get MAME out of the way, shall we? Type (in TharnType) is an absolute banger at the pithy quip in a very agro way and I love a lot of his lines. I mean calling your lover “crybaby” when you finally tell him you love him? Epic snark. Also the “you can finally stop complaining about us” to Techno is so good. 

But my personal favorite, hands sown, is the throwing a sauce bottle. Talk about product placement. (Although said senior’s snarky, “It’s fun to see a big baby agitated” about Type, was also pretty darn great.) 

3. I’m so gay 

In Rainbow Prince, the fact that Art’s focused pursuit is patently obvious and his subordinates are still careful about it was just really funny to me. It reminded me of my youth when friends got surprised when I came out. Don’t get me wrong, my coming out was perfectly serviceable at the time, but also the ones who were surprised I was like... 

4. Ate the phonebook

Bright in SOTUS (played by Off) is a wonderfully snarky character. I love the way he is self deprecating about being a bad student, even in front of his juniors, and the time he leads them in prayer? So funny. 

But my favorite is his one shot “Did he eat the national register” when Kong is showing off his memory for names in one of the hazing sequences. 

Shout out to the one I do have a screen cap of, this from SOTUS S: 

Like serious moment of scripted brilliance. 

Ah me, back in the days when most Thai BLs had really good scripts.... 

5. Goodnight, you fucker

Kao’s fandi-way in the Kiss series. 

This is a linguistic one. It’s just I already had grocked the notion of fandi na as being a cute thing couples use with each other (kind of like “sweet dreams, please?”) to see Kao make this super rude when Pete is begging him for it, is so much THEM, their dynamic, it’s particularly snarky and on character. 

Also, you know me, i had to pick a linguistic one. 

6. Rome getting his own back

Rome in Puppy Honey is such a sweet soft character but also so much owning his own identity, and so steady about it. It was just really fun to see him get one up on Pick. 

Even if they both know it’s actually a compliment. 

Also should out to Porsche’s moment of quip, “I enjoy this scene a little too much” when he catches his bestie rolling around in paint with cute boy. 

7. Invitation? 

Tian actually has quite a few moments of snark in Tale of a Thousand Stars. (”You know how to sweet talk now?’). But honestly this is a phrase I use constantly IRL so I was just happy to see it show up in a Thai BL. 

8. Just alpha bitch bitching it up 

Look is this level of confrontation actually considered snark? I don’t know but Miriam’s defense of Chon in Tonhon Chonlatee is epic. Top level. It’s a real pleasure to watch a female bestie take out an evil femme fatale machine-gun style.

Yes there are others, the bffs (best female friends) in Together With Me and Dark Blue Kiss spring to mind. 

9. Calling out the industry moments 

There are quite a few of these, and a BL that is already bad and full of tropes has to be careful because they are reviewing themselves badly. And yet they do it anyway. This example comes from one of this year’s worst, My Secret Love: 

Our Days has 

“Can I love you, my tsundere” 

“This year so many Y series came out”

“I think the script writers are at fault” 

“Your acting skills suck”

all of which come off as more rich and inappropriate than snark in such a terrible show. 

It’s not always bad show tho.

Cherry Blossoms After Winter scene card calling out the “only one bed” trope. 

And in on of the Taiwanese BLs there is a moment where a side character tells on of the leads that “tsundere is so out of fashion” but I can’t remember which show. 

10. Seme subscription service 

Best of the best (IMHO) comes from Korea, who generally specializes in earnest, not snark. But... 

Semantic Error is one of my favorite BL’s because the two leads are nearly entirely comprised of snark. SangWoo’s “if my heart wasn’t beating I’d be dead” was perfection, since it also takes a common trope to account.  

And when JaeYoung is grouchy and says "No lettuce, eat perilla leaves instead” I bark laughed. Also the “oops my hand slipped” after he shot that dart at the drunk asshole in the pub. Both of these also involve physical comedy moments, so they aren’t strictly just snark they're visual gags but still? *kiss kiss kiss* 

But I had to pick seme subscription service as my favorite moment of snark from this series. Because it is both of them, snipping back and forth. 

And that’s it. That’s my top 10. 

Other good ones?

KinnPorsche Pete has a few the time at the table with the minor family and the time in chains when he’s reading a book.

Most of Team’s responses to Win in Until We Meet Again. from “You’re so picky” to “Don’t even think about it.” 

Half of what Pond says in Love By Chance. 

All of what Pure says in My Gear and Your Gown. 

I don’t love Theory of Love but Third’s internal dialogue (when he’s not whining and pining) and his occasionally take downs are pretty darn great.

Adachi’s internal reactions to Kurosawa’s thoughts in Cherry Magic, especially after they are dating. “Everything is so mushy.” 

Akoi’s internal dialogue and self criticism snark in My Love Mix Up. 

TangYi’s “too soft” in H3: Trapped. 

Noh’s “Fine, yes” at the end of Love Sick. Not a snarky character in general, just a wise and sweet one, but at the end, yes, snark. 

NamGoong in Light On Me, the sweetest side character of snark. 

Pretty much all of Mob’s thoughts and dialogue in Absolute BL.

being an ot13, I just went with what photo of any SVT member went with the colour palette i had in mind. bestie Carrie made it for me when I rebranded my blog, only trusting @art-hao with it cause hello? queen is amazing at what she does.
