draco walked in the room and, for a moment, he looked strangely like regulus. the same dark mark etched into his skin, the same ugly smile, the same stolen innocence, the same wasted youth of both of them.

she had loved them both. regulus, so quiet and obedient, the very way the heir to the noble and most ancient house of black. he hadn't gotten the chance to become what he had so yearned to be. her son, now taking the duties of his father, his father's footsteps, a cruel destiny for a boy.

"are yoy proud of me?" draco asked bitterly, and narcissa's eyes were sad, reminiscent of the past.

"i can't let you do this," she said, and she would have laughed, an ugly ring in the cold and lonely of their home. 'you're too important, draco."

"i'm not," he whispered, and his mother wondered if he really felt like that. she wondered if he had believed himself to be as insignificant as regulus, a star bound to consume itself, in the end.

"yes, you are. i shall arrange severus to help you with this quest; you're too young, you have your whole life ahead of you. you can't waste yourself away so young."

"i'm not!" he exclaimed, insisting, bleary-eyed. "leave him out of this! i have to do this! for father! for us!"

"why won't you just let me help you, regulus?" she asked him, her voice cracking. realizing what she had said, she covered her mouth, horrified.

it seemed like her son was stepping in the footsteps of her cousin. the same promises, the same lord, all the same; she would stand by and watch, unable to do anything.

the same destiny, the same death.

Swotty's DH headcanon no.4:

The Malfoy line has a couple of differing curses.

1. Being able to produce only one son in a lifetime (because of something that happened hundreds of years ago) to prevent any bastards. Draco having a kid with Hermione somehow broke that because his blood disowned him for procreating with someone of Muggle decent—this one was placed by a scorned Malfoy wife.

2. The kids having the signature Malfoy hair and eyes as to know if the wives have bedded another man—done by some Malfoy patriarch along the beginning of the branch.

Lately I've been pondering alot on footwear in the wizarding/wixen world...

There's so much to tap into fashion wise...like what the hell does just "robes" even mean Terf-face McRowling????

And I feel like the fan base has done such a wonderful job to portray their own beautiful and unique designs and descriptions... but not so much on shoes 🤔

Like the most generic thing is for them to be walking around in muggle shoes or "loafers" or "dragonhide boots"....
