December 24: Miller/Bryan, Boyfriends
This is literally the least Christmas-y thing I could write on Christmas Eve but I just had the urge to write some angsty Miller/Bryan stuff instead of trying to do fluff. I'm just not in the fluff mood.
This is in the same universe as this scene, is extremely self-indulgent, and may or may not be good, but it was fun.
Canon-divergent, S3-era, ~760 words, some sexual content
Written in 22 minutes
*
When they were dating on the Ark, they would fantasize often about domesticity. They'd find quarters together as soon as they turned eighteen, either on Alpha or on Farm, or anywhere else that would take them; they'd sleep together in a bed big enough for two. They'd develop some sort of morning routine. Their clothes would get mixed up. They'd kiss at every threshold, before parting, upon meeting.
Miller was a damned romantic in those days too: trading stolen goods for extra ration points and extra ration points for private time in the mess and a dinner for two; memorizing love sonnets; handing Bryan sprigs of plants from the fields on Farm as if they were bouquets. Some of the gestures made Bryan laugh. But always with such fondness. And after Miller was arrested, they promised to stay faithful—Bryan promised to visit and promised to wait—and so everyone in the Sky Box said they were married. That was the word for couples who believed in a future like that. Miller never told anyone that he proposed for real, with a bit of junk metal fashioned into a ring, as earnest and as quiet and as serious as he'd ever been in his life, never told a single soul that Bryan said yes. Yes Miller would live and as soon as he got out, they'd be married in Miller's father's quarters and afterwards, never separated ever again.
Later, when Bellamy asks, he says he has a boyfriend. Fiancé seems too heavy somehow, like maybe Bellamy will read it as kids playing dress up, or only frown as he does at Sky Box slang he never got the hang of.
It's easier to live with himself, too, when he's got a boyfriend up there or out there or possibly dead, than to let himself go on spinning fantasies about the love of his life.
It's not domestic now and it's not sweet either, or soft, or easy, when they don't know what to say to each other, so every time they meet, they just fuck. Bryan hangs out with Farm mostly, without saying they're family in so many words. Miller’s got his dropship survivors. Thy almost never talk about that now. The scar on his shoulder aches when it's about to rain, and when he puts on the Guard jacket, it feels heavy on his shoulders.
Bryan's assigned quarters in some of the new outbuildings, where they've stuck the rest of the station because all the rooms in Alpha have already been divided up. But it's not hard to sneak over, hardly more of a challenge to sneak Bryan over to his. Bellamy practically lives at Gina's now. Their bed is a double, and it's easy to shove Bryan down on it.
They never get fully undressed and they lie to themselves and say it's because it takes too long, and they need something hot and hard and now, they miss each other so goddamn much. It doesn't hurt the way that sex always hurt in crowded spaces up on the Ark: banged elbow in the supply closet, ache in his back from trying to twist around too much in his single bed, and then he couldn't even catch his breath after, because soon his father would be home. He might say it hurts in a worse way now, like poking an old bruise. Old man, Bryan says, half-smiling, when his heart starts beating too fast and his lungs burn but he's thinking about Bellamy giving him a hand job in this same bed and then about how many people have fucked in it over the last 100 years, and how little it matters, sentimentality like that.
He can feel Bryan's palm pressed close against him, that moment of pressure before his fingers start scrambling for Miller's zip, and he thinks that if he's breathing in the air from Bryan's lungs right now, open mouth to open mouth and the darting slick press of tongues, maybe he's also hearing Bryan's heart in his ears. Maybe they are one person. Maybe that's the rhythm he can feel coming of its own accord into his hips, as Bryan straddles on top of him, and they move as if they were fucking, and everything else drowns out and is still.
They haven't mentioned the word marriage since their reunion at the settlement gates. Not even once. No words like boyfriends or domesticity or even home, but again and again he huffs you into Bryan's mouth: you and want and need. You, you, you.

I get it... in a show actors are costs..
But damn if I hate the 100!
You’re plot is that you are alone in this planet, against others clans and always a risk of war or disasters..
Raven broke up with Wick and he disappeared.
Miller broke up with Bryan and he disappeared.
Damn. Where the fuck did they go? At least keep them alive until season 4 final and leave them behind in the 100 you need: it’ll make totally more sense than they just disappear cause they broke up with a “main” character!

August 4: Miller/Bryan, Miller & Bellamy, Long-Distance Relationship
Miller/Bryan, Miller & Bellamy, S2-S3 hiatus, ~900 words, for the prompt “long distance relationship” @writersmonth
Honestly, this challenge is good for me because it truly allows me to say TO HECK WITH THIS and just write something I’m p sure won’t be good, because at least it’s something for the day. Like, the actual fic I wanted to work on today didn’t happen, but at least this did!
Still not promising to finish the challenge though.

For a while, before the housing situation is figured out, Miller ends up sharing a room with Bellamy in Alpha Station Section 4. They sleep side by side at night in a double bed. These quarters were meant for a new-married couple, the kind of place he used to think he and Bryan would share one day. And Miller's always pegged Bellamy as straight, but loneliness and grief breed ambiguity. Sometimes he puts his arm around Bellamy's shoulders and Bellamy sinks into him, and they listen to the wind blowing harsh with a new, cold, bitter season, nothing like the old sounds of the Ark, more than enough to remind them both that Camp Jaha isn't home.
"Not like the dropship, is it?" he asks, loud enough to be heard over the creaking of the ship and the bluster of the storm. If this might be called a storm. Bellamy slides all the way down so he's half-propped, a back-bending angle, against Miller's chest, and Miller's arm has nowhere to go but to sling across his waist. What he means is the dropship did feel like home, so much that it made him feel guilty, for not wishing he were up among the stars again.
Bellamy hums something low, a wordless agreement. He's staring at the ceiling.
"We should just go back," Miller says, and Bellamy grunts.
"Sitting ducks for Grounders."
So he's not in a talking mood.
Bryan had his silences too, but Miller knew how to read them. He knew that boy like his own skin, from every stolen moment and every hard-earned private hour together, from the months they sent each other messages all day long and he told Bryan things he never told anyone else, because most people, most relationships, only skim the surface. Still true now, except he's almost died a few times with his friends. Which changes the tenor of the gaps between them.
He's followed Bellamy through the abyss. Now he's holding him as if he were boneless, and he has to lie to himself and say this isn't intimacy, as if he knew what else to call it, and as if Bellamy weren't now reaching for his hand and grabbing it tight. The grip is not loving or romantic but feels like he's about to yank him down, or drown him.
Before Miller's trial, he and Bryan made rules. The rules were Bryan's idea. Miller wasn't going to ask him to wait. People on Earth, Bryan said, knew real distance, and they kept up relationships across continents, all the time.
That didn't sound right but Miller didn't argue. He was going to be sent away and maybe he was going to die but he wanted Bryan there on visiting days right up to the end, across the table from him, telling him about his classes and the latest Farm Station gossip and just looking at him, as if there was no distance, not even the metallic tabletop and the watchful eyes of the Guards. So they promised to be faithful, and to wait.
Would he have released Bryan from all of these promises, if he'd known he was going to be sent to Earth? Would he have asked him, wait, but not too long? At what point would he guess he'd be dying for release?
He's been on Earth three months and he hasn’t reached that point yet. The planet is vast, just like Bryan said. And the love of his life could be anywhere, windswept to the four corners, dead on the rocks, or striving for life in a harsh landscape not so different from this, listening to high winds howl and batter the walls like frenzied demons. Miller could tell horror stories about weather like this, and Bryan would cover his ears and then cover Miller's mouth, and Miller would pretend to bite the soft skin of his palm.
Bellamy twists again, lying on his back, turned away from Miller and toward the door. Miller rubs his back slowly. He's seen the others, hooking up in the dropship camp and now in Camp Jaha, falling in love through war and imprisonment—and he's held himself apart. Now another person is sitting in his body with another boy in mourning, comforting him. Maybe he’s only being a friend, or maybe this is all part of being second in command—maybe this is his job now. And the real him is trying to measure distances, not yet ready to squash out this feeling he has that the space is measured in miles and not eternities. That Bryan is still out there and he's waiting for him.
"Do you think we'll find the other stations?" he asks, like he's trying to be casual, and watches Bellamy shrug. Which one of him is speaking, he doesn't know.
They're still sending search crews after Clarke. No signs of her in the forest, dead or alive. No rumors from the Grounder clans.
Maybe she's found another Ark Station. Maybe she's out there in the wilderness, scanning the air waves for the light of other beacons, like they are. As if the stations themselves were married once, meant for each other once, and now they're all mourning each other, and wishing without evidence for each other, and holding themselves in limbo, aching for each other.
"Who are you waiting for?" Bellamy asks.
This is a form of intimacy too: confession.
"Farm," he answers. "That's my boyfriend's station."
Bellamy tenses, a spasm Miller can feel, then turns on his back. He lets his gaze fall to the side so he's staring at Miller's arm. "We'll keep looking," he says, so insistent, so strong, that for a moment he sounds like a leader again.

Briller ficlet
AN: Since there are way too few Briller fanfics and because I live for jealous!Bryan this happened. I know it’s really, really short, who knows maybe I’m gonna write something longer in the future.
„Bryan! Hey, Bryan, are you even – you’re not listening aren’t you?“
He flinched when Monty gently tapped him on the shoulder, but he couldn’t quite bring himself to tear his eyes away from Nate and Jackson, who were in a deep conversation and Jackson was way too close to Nate and fuck, Bryan knew he was being petty and jealous and he didn’t even knew if he had a right to be jealous since he had no idea where they stood in the first place but -
Jackson put his hand on Nates shoulder, and fuck everything, Bryan left Monty and Harper and walked over to the two of them.
“Hey Nate, you’re needed at the gate.”
His – boyfriend? Ex? - turned around and Bryan felt like he had been punched in the stomach when he looked him in the eyes for the first time, really, since their fight. He had missed him so damn much and right now he wanted nothing more than let himself fall into his arms and stay there for hours, days, forever.
He nodded, is eyes guarded. “Alright. Talk to you later.”, he said to Jackson and then turned around and started walking towards the Gate. Bryan hastily followed him.
Relax, breath in and out, you can do this.
But what was he supposed to say? I’m sorry for avoiding you? I’m sorry for talking you and the others into saving people who now want to stay here and die anyway?
“I lied.”
Nate stopped and turned around, but not as confused as Bryan thought he would be. “I know.”, he simply said, “You can’t lie for shit. You always get this wrinkle between your eyebrows when you do.”
Nate hesitated for a moment before he continued. “You could’ve just said that you wanted to talk to me you know?”
Bryan avoided his eyes because fuck, he was pathetic. “Wasn’t sure you would agree to come with me.”, he finally mumbled, not sure if Nate could even hear him, “You seemed to be – pretty occupied and I -” He shook his head, “This was stupid, I’m sorry, I’ll just -”
He felt Nates hand on his arm and looked up, eyes wide and his heart beating so fast he wondered if it would jump out of his chest straight into Nates hands.
“There is nothing between me and Jackson, if that’s what you were worried about.”, he said and he almost sounded insulted, “Quite frankly, I have no idea where we stand but I love you, that hasn’t changed while I was imprisoned on the arch. It hasn’t changed while I was down here and you still up there and I thought I would never see you again. It hasn’t changed when you fucking spied on me for Pike and – why are you looking at me like that?”
“I’m waiting for you to finish this rant of yours because I don’t want to interrupt you but I love you too and I really, really want to kiss you right now.”
A smile, the first real smile he has seen on Nate since their fight, appeared on his lips and Bryan doesn’t know who made the first move but they’re kissing, Nates has one arm wrapped around his waist and his free hand is in his hair and wow, this is everything Bryan could ever want.
