Lazy Acres recently opened in Hollywood. It’s a natural foods store that reminds me of Whole Foods and Bristol Farms. It’s clean, bright, and attractive with lots of organic produce and goods, supplements, and prepared foods. As for the prepared foods, you can build your own poke bowl or order fish tacos, BBQ plates, The salad/hot food bar is $11.99/lb and the food looked tasty. They also have prepackaged sushi, sandwiches, salads, sides, juices, hot soup bar, etc. There’s an in-store bakery and coffee/juice bar as well. The coffee bar serves organic coffee beans and organic milk.

The produce selection is impressive. They even had purple asparagus. The health and wellness selection is large and they also have very cute gifts (plush toys, tote bags), greeting cards, and fresh flowers. And there’s a bulk section. A Mary’s rotisserie chicken is $15.99.

Gardein classic meatballs ($4.99): these are faux meatballs

Chicken tamale ($5.99): twice as big as your usual tamale, pretty moist, shredded chicken in a spicy red sauce, pretty good, a bit too salty

Lazy Acres has the same owners as Bristol Farms. Self-checkout is available. I noticed the parking lot had wider spaces – a thoughtful touch. If you want to dine there, they have a dining area. If you bring your own bag, you can ask for a token and then decide how that gets donated. They even have cooking classes.

This is encouraging news! Poached cheetah cubs are popular on the black market, and any tools that can help stem the trade will be much-needed.

This poaching has been going on for many decades; actress Josephine Baker could often been seen with her pet cheetah Chiquita in the 1920s, and mid-century demands from zoos for cheetahs likely also fueled illicit trade. Today they are still seen as status symbols, with many ending up as pets on the Arabian peninsula in spite of increasing prohibitions.

Many poached cubs never survive to be sold to new buyers, and every cub taken out of the wild reduces the already plummeting population; perhaps 10,000 at most remain in the wild today, down from 100,000 a century ago.

Want an easy way to help? Don't share, like, or otherwise support videos that show big cats and other wild animals as pets (yes, that includes supposed "rescues" like Messi the cougar who is treated like a housecat instead of living in a proper big cat refuge--and whose owners have had more than one cheetah that they show off on their social media.) Educate others on how wildlife are not pets and while they may seem to be cute and cuddly, keeping them robs them of the chance to have a truly wild life and supports unsustainable, and often illegal, wildlife trade.

I see Arcane's marketing is thrusting a lot of blue on Jinx's persona, which is fine, but also a misdirection! I argue that the use of blue on Jinx represents THE IDEA that others have of Jinx rather than representing who Jinx really is. Ne kadar aşağılık mahlûkât var bu ülkede! Yine ayartıcı bir reklamla ve meydan okuyarak üstelik!

Millet bu aşağılık marketleri şiddetle protesto etmeli, iflasın eşiğine sürüklemeli!

Bugünkü yazımda 10 yıl önce bu sütunda, CocaCola'nın tastamam pornografik, ayartıcı reklamı dolayısıyla yazdığım bir yazımı, benzer bir reklamın yeniden döndürüldüğünü görünce yeniden yayımlama ihtiyacı hissettim.

Karşımızda sadece bir reklam yok; bir meydan okuma var; kitleleri aptal yerine koyarak ayartma, narkoz etkisi oluşturma var;

en önemlisi de Gazze'de çocuk, kadın demeden masumların gözümüzün içine baka baka katledildiği bir zaman diliminde böyle bir reklamı dolaşıma sokma ve bu marketlerin de emperyalizmin yeni silahı bu pespaye ürünü inanıdına market raflarına koyma savaşı var.

Dekadans'ın / tefessüh'ün böylesi görülmedi!

Toplum tepki vermeli, hem Coca Cola şirketini hem reklamı yayınlayan televizyonları hem de sessiz kalan RTÜK'ü protesto etmeli.

Mesele, sadece basit bir CocaCola meselesi değil. Coca Cola'nın da sadece bir içecek olmadığını bilelim ayrıca.

Mesele, sanıldığından da karmaşık ve hayatî.

Birkaç boyutu var meselenin.

Öncelikli olarak, CocaCola şirketinin İsrail'e gözardı edilemeyecek miktarlarda yardım yaptığı biliniyor. Bunun ne demek olduğunu söylemek bile gerekmiyor:

Ödediğimiz her kuruş, masum çocukları vuran bir kurşuna dönüşüyor!

Bu, basit bir şey değil.

Bunu küçümseyenleri gördüm a-sosyal medyada!

İnsaf, vicdan ve merhamet, diyorum sadece!

Masum çocukların öldürülmesinde şu ya da bu şekilde de olsa suç ortağı olmak demek bu!

ÇAĞIN DİNİ: YENİ-PAGANİZM

Doğrusunu söylemek gerekirse, bu, CocaCola reklamı, oluşturduğu CocaColanizasyon endüstrisi, yeni kolonyalizm biçimi, en önemlisi de yeni-paganizm olgusu, bütün insanlığı ilgilendiren varoluşsal bir mesele.

Asıl üzerinde kafa patlatılması gereken mesele bu:

Funniest thing I've seen recently, and not funny in a ha-ha way, more funny in a "the endless entropic void gnawing at my will to live" way, was somebody asking around for alternatives to Neil Gaiman, in the light of Neil Gaiman's ongoing fall from grace. As though what we're currently sitting through isn't the collapse of the carefully curated "Good Guy Neil" image that caused people to parade Gaiman as the same kind of preferred progressive alternative to, say, Rowling. As though we won't be in the same goddamn situation in a few years or months, with some number of the new progressive sci-fi/fantasy darlings- not all of them, to be clear, but at least some of them- when their impeccably-curated marketing implodes in on itself and they're revealed to be the same kind of sex pest or abuser. Can you not see the wheel to which you are strapped. The game of human pinball you are condemning yourself to with this mindset. Maybe you do see, and you're just resigned to taking it one soul-crushing disappointment at a time, one "I never would have guessed" after another. I mean I think we all need to get resigned to that one way or another, sun's gonna go out before it stops happening
