Neutrx Pride Flag
Tumblr media
Neutrx: being neutre/neutrois/neutral in a uingender way; a gender that falls between both uiaspec and niaspec (uiagender and niagender spectra/spectrums); a gender term in which someone feels as if they are non-binary, androgynous, or genderless(-aligned) but in a unknown way. Another way this can be described is where someone feels as if they are mostly neutral, but still have or feel undefined aspects about themselves and choose to keep them.
The term and flag are inspired in neutro and neutra (plus neutre), which are Hispanicisms/Portuguesisms (words derived from West Iberian).

i'd love to hear from neutrois, neutral, niaspec, transneutral etc. people how you define your genders.
is it similar to gender apathy? is it a balance of genders? if so, all genders or only binary genders or something else? if it's a neutralisation of genders, how do you experience this? is your gender in between genders? which ones? literally anything you want to say about your gender? these are just random questions, they don't have to apply to you.
as a maverique i have always kind of considered people in the above categories to be siblings in gender in some way, but i don't actually know that much about you all's experiences.

[Image ID: The Neuix flag created by coiner Gent of Gender-Jargon, 2023. The flag consists of three vertical stripes and one central, horizontal stripe. From left to right, the vertical stripes are dark green, green and light. The central stripe is beige. /.End ID]
Neuix: Describing a Non-Neutrois individual that finds a neutral gender attribution befitting and considers it an essential facet of their gender identity.
A sibling term of Mascix, Femix & Gynandrix.
Etymology
Neuix was created to mirror the paradigm used for Mascix. Femix and Gynandrix.
From English, “Neu” from “Neutral” + “-ix”, an neologistic suffix used by other terms in this genus, originally based upon Apathmascix and Apathfemix coined by user Cybertroniancoining. Neuix was coined by Gent of Gender-Jargon, 2023.
Elaboration
Neuix is a complex and potentially contradictory identity in which one’s gender is not Neutrois, but has neutral traits attributed to them nonetheless, and this attribution is not only considered to be fitting by the individual, but an integral part of their overall gender experience.
More simply, a Neuix individual:
Has a gender identity that they consider to be Non-Neutrois.
Has traits of neutrality attributed to them by other individuals.
Considers having traits of neutrality attributed to their person to be agreeable and in a few, multiple or all manners at least part of the time.
Considers this attribution to be an intrinsic part of their experience of their gender as a whole.
A Neuix individual is not apathetic to neutral gender attribution, but instead enjoys, appreciate, entertains, welcomes or otherwise freely accepts neutral traits being attributed to their person. Furthermore, this attribution is a fundamental aspect of their gender experience.
Flag
The Neuix flag was created to match the Mascix, Femix and Gynandrix flags. The flag consists of three vertical bars and a central, horizontal bar, forming a tri-color flag with a median line. At the left is the darkest green, becoming lighter as it moves right. The median stripes is beige in color. The colors have the following meanings:
The forest green, green and light green stripes represents neutral gender attribution.
The beige stripe represents not being Neutrois.
The Neuix flag was created by Gent of Gender-Jargon in 2023.
Note: Gender attribution is not necessarily based upon one’s expression, but is more frequently an assumption made about an individual’s gender identity without their input. Being an assumption, it is not always correct, good, wanted or warranted. Affirming attributions are congruent with one’s perception of themselves. Incorrect and undesired attributions are incongruent with this perception and are often distressing. Neuix should not be used to describe anyone who does not like neutrality being attributed to them, as it would be misdenoting on multiple levels

What is Gender Neutrality?
(An essay under the cut.)
If you were to look up “gender neutral” on most gender wiki sites, you’ll come across a definition that’s something like “Gender neutrality is the experience of having a gender that is neutral, not male or female.” Then, the word “neutral” might link you to a list of neutral-related identity labels. Pages like these don’t seem to have a super thorough answer, but they have a lot of words for this experience - niaspec, ningender, neutrois, neutral-aligned, etc. Not being male or female could mean any number of things, and not all identities that are not-male and not-female are neutral. So, what does gender neutrality actually refer to?
Neutrality, in the gender sense, can refer to an experience of in-between or blended gender. One term you might be familiar with is androgyne, a gender that combines maleness and femaleness into one identity. While this means having a combination or blend of genders, some people may consider being an androgyne as being in between male and female - a point in between two other points. This is what neutrality most commonly refers to, but it doesn’t just have to be in between male and female. If you are genderfluid, but that fluidity is between agender and maverique, then you may consider neutrality as being between those two points instead. It doesn’t have to be an exact dead-center point in between two genders, but that tends to be the way people describe it.
Neutrality may also refer to a “gray area” of gender. Take the term demigender for example. If you are a demiboy or a demigirl, then you are partially a boy or partially a girl respectively. What about that other part? If you are part one thing, then there may be another part to make it 100% an entire identity. The gray area, the neutrality, lies in that other part (at least for some people such as myself. Some people in contrast may see this other part as agender instead.) This idea of a gray area can also work for identities such as genderflux. If you experience peaks (spikes) of gender, then neutrality could be the valleys in between - this would be an unmoving part to an otherwise ever-changing gender.
On the topic of gray areas, being “on the cusp” of a gender can be considered a gray area. Proximal genders come to mind, which describe an experience of being close to a specific gender (proxvir is close to maleness, juxera is close to femaleness) but existing as its own separate gender. Maybe your gender is almost agender, but is on its own plane of existence that makes it not-agender. Paragender is a similar term that means being 99% a certain gender but something about the identity keeps it from being 100%. That’s where this gray area may come into play, attempting to “neutralize” the remainder of the identity. This gender has a partial neutrality to it.
Yes, neutrality can actually be a neutralizing aspect of one’s identity. Take the term ambonec for example. Ambonec means being both male and female, but also neither at the same time. The “neither” part is where maleness and femaleness may overlap and neutralize as a result. They cancel each other out, making for a complex identity that is three parts at once and yet not. Other identities that may have overlapping parts would be something like bigender or trigender, where there are two or more genders at play but they overlap in some areas. The neutrality is in the overlap.
Remember the terms I talked about in the beginning of this post? Niaspec is a term for the neutrally gendered spectrum, which can mean any number of neutral or neutral-adjacent experiences. One term that comes to mind is aporagender, a gender that is not male or female but is also not genderless. Under niaspec, you’ll see the term ningender, a word for any gender that is “neutral-in-nature” - any gender that is inherently neutral by definition. One of those genders is neutrois, an umbrella term for genders that are neutral, androgynous, genderless, and more. This is why some people may consider their agender identity as part of the niaspec umbrella, being proximal to a neutral experience.
Gender neutrality could also literally mean being neutral about the idea of gender. Someone may decide that they are indifferent to gender and therefore don’t have any sort of preference for pronouns or gendered language. Cassgender is a term for being gender indifferent, but many people who feel indifferent to gender might not choose to use that label. A lot of the time it’s a take-it-or-leave it sort of attitude toward gender - any pronouns at all, call me a boy, call me a girl, call me an entity, I’m going to wear whatever I feel like without leaning one way or another into any one gender presentation. Genderpunks and gender nonconforming people understand these views most of all, but you may also see this sentiment in the agender and multigender communities.
Other generally neutral experiences might refer to having an ambiguous gender (androgynous or ambiguine), having an unknown gender (uingender, graygender, quoigender), being pangender or having an unquantifiable number of genders (omnigender), or any other experience that doesn’t fall into any one specific category. Neutrality can be a word to mean flexible, nebulous, blurry, intangible, impartial, complex, or even nonexistent. One follower described its experience with neutrality as the feeling of an impending storm: It’s not actually raining, but it’s about to, and you can tell by the change of lighting. That goes back to the ideas of being “on the cusp” of a gender and being in-between genders.  People will have a variety of reasons for using this term to describe their gender experience, so there isn’t just one solid definition for it!

Kiaspec ✦
Tumblr media
Kiaspec / keiaspec : an umbrella term for anyone on the kenochoric spectrum. It includes all kenochoric genders, partial kenochoric genders, kenic (kenochoric aligned) and adjacent genders, and genders which are in some way similar to / resemblant of kenosity / kenochoricness.
-✦-
The difference between kiaspec and kenic (kenochoric alignment): There is overlap for sure, but they're not quite the same. Kiaspec would be a broader label. People who are keno adjacent, or in some way similar without being aligned, and whatnot, would be included under kiaspec but not kenic. Something that comes to mind is proxvir and juxera. They're near, or adjacent if you will, to male and female, but they wouldn't be male and female aligned right? So I would say that's the difference, but it's possible I'm just not understanding what alignment means.
Tumblr media
I wasn't able to find a kenochoric version of miaspec, fiaspec, niaspec, and such -iaspec genders, so I made one myself :)
Tumblr media
The k comes from the first letter of kenochoric. And the alt term keiaspec uses the first two letters of kenochoric, instead of just the first.
The flag follows the format of 5 stripes, which all the -iaspec flags have, but with the lightest stripe second to last, like in the niaspec and abiaspec flags. With the colours just being based off of the kenochoric flag. I originally put the lightest stripe in the middle, more similar to the majority of -iaspec flags, however it didn't quite look distinct enough / too similar to other kenochoric flags, so this alternative colour ordering was chosen.

gendermelu | genderglau
gendermelu: a form of genderfluidity in which one is only a woman/girl when their gender is also miaspec, xenoic, niaspec, ouiaspec, abinary, or some other non-fiaspec and non-fin gender quality
genderglau: a form of genderfluidity in which one is only a man/boy when their gender is also fiaspec, xenoic, niaspec, ouiaspec, abinary, or some other non-miaspec and non-min gender quality
[pt: gendermelu: a form of genderfluidity in which one is only a woman/girl when their gender is also miaspec, xenoic, niaspec, ouiaspec, abinary, or some other non-fiaspec and non-fin gender quality

anon asked for the first term and i figured i'd coin the second!
the flags use a range of colors to represent non-fiaspec/fin and non-miaspec/min genders respectively, with pink/blue in the center to represent only being a woman/man in conjunction with those other qualities.
gendermelu comes from melusine, a female european fresh-water spirit, and genderglau comes from glaucus, a male greek mythological fish-man!

Term recoining: Itherinity
This one is a self recoining. Some years ago after a discusion on a discord server that doesn't exist anymore I came up with four qualities:
Virinity - The quality people on the gendervir/miagender spectrum. Could be considered a subtype of masculinity.
Erainity/lierinity - The quality specific to people on the genderera/genderlier/fiagender spectrum. Could be considered a subtype of femininity.
Neutrinity - Comgender neutrality. The quality of non-agender gender-neutral/neutrois people. The quality of being niaspec, but not agiaspec.
Itherinity - The quality of genders described as an "other" or "Something else"
All these were coined before the viagender spectra and were coined to differentiate masc from male, fem from female, etc. With the coining of fia/mia/nia/ouia vs fin/min/nin/ouin having different sets of qualities doesn't make much sense, at least to me.
Neutrinity is still useful because it referse to a specific type of gender neutrality, one that's strictly and specifically comgender/allogender.
So I wanted to recoin itherinity, not as a counterpart of outherinity, but as a more specific form of outherinity.
The other day I coined "Anderinity" to refer to the quality of genders like peraverique or mavilya that are born from the combination of two distinct outherine genders/gender qualities.
Itherinity is the subtype of outherinity that describes those genders and qualities that are entirely new with no connection to previous existing qualities, yet not exactly xenine or anything on the like. It's basically a terms for the outherine qualities that are defined by:
Otherness
Gender autonomy
Authenticity
Individuality (as in being exclusive on an individual)
Examples of itherine qualities are perine, ilyagine, maverine (also known as maveriquine), etc.
It does not include outherine qualities born of uncommon combinations of the main four or five qualities. Troininity and droxininity are outherine, but not itherine. See dipherine for those.
Originally it did include brand new qualities that could be compared/shared characteristics with previously existing non-outherine qualities, but I've coined umbine and preterine for that now
Itherine qualities are non-combinatory/unambiguous.

A bit of history on cetero/skolio
On skolio's real definition
First of all I'll begin by saying that the idea that skolio ever included binary trans and GNC people is not true. It was invented by exorsexist trolls.
I was there when the discussions on having labels for those whose genders are dissimilar to male and female to use were been held online and I didn't ever see anyone (that wasn't an exorsexist troll) claiming skolio/cetero should include trans and GNC people in general. It doesn't, it never did.
Gyne vs. Andro vs. Skolio/cetero
The idea behind the coining of this three labels was to have an orientation system that those who have genders completele separate from male and female could use to classify our attraction (or affinity, although this term didn't exist at the time) without having to be forced into the gay-straight binary. The definitions were the follows:
Andro: Attraction/affinity to men and similar or derived genders.
Meaning that "andro" didn't just include binary men, but also demiboys, bxys, and even proxvirs and achillean genders. Anyone who was connected in some way (directly, by proximity, through attraction, etc) to men/boys/guys was included in "andro"
Gyne: Attraction/affinity to women and similar and derived genders.
Just like "andro", "gyne" included attraction/affinity to women/girls, binary and nonbinary, genders similar and/or proximal genders, like juxera, and sapphic genders.
Disclaimer: Contrary to what some believe, "gyne" and "vagina" aren't etymologically related. "Gyne" is Greek and means woman and ultimately comes from the PIE *gʷḗn, also meaning women, the same origin than the English word "queen".
"vagina", meanwhile, comes from the latin "vāgīna", which comes from the proto-italic "*wāgīnā", derived from the PIE "*wag-", all of them meaning "sheath, cover, scabbard". It's related to the word "Vanilla"
Cetero/skolio: Attraction/affinity towards those genders that aren't similar to man and woman. It included neutrois, agender, ambonec, androgyne, aliagender, because those were the terms available at the time.
It didn't include all people outside the binary, nor did it include gender diverse people in general. It was specifically about feeling attraction/affinity towards those outside the fem-masc or fiaspec-miaspec dichotomies. What we now would call "extrine people"
"Skolio" was chosen precisely because it meant bent as a way to express an orientation that's inherently outside the norm due to the nature of the genders that are the object of attraction/affinity.
But many didn't like it, precisely because of that, or because they thought it could be ableist to use the same word used in a physical condition (scoliosis), so it was changed to "cetero", meaning other.
Cetero is not NLN
The idea that only nonbinary or otherwise binaryn't people can be cetero doesn't come from the cetero community. It comes from exorsexists. I've been using the label since it was coined and I haven't met a fellow cetero person that truly believes it's only for nonbinary people.
Cetero is mspec
In no way cetero implies that nonbinary is a monolithic gender. Since it was coined the idea was for it to include all the genders and qualities that were excluded from the man-woman and fem-masc dichotomies.
There are specific mestric monoattractions/monoaffinities, like for example neu- (attraction niaspec people).

Neoenby Flags!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neoenby is a gender with a connection to neutrality, but in a way that's largely different from how most enbys/nonbinary people are connected to neutrality. Neoenby is a non-binary identity that is mostly separate from being nonbinary, though it can be described as a gender that is neutral-aligned, ningender, and/or niaspec. Individuals who identify with neoenby may identify with the term because:
- They feel like a "new" kind or type of nonbinary.
- They feel like they're nonbinary and connected to neutrality (partially or entirely) but in a "different" way.
- They feel nonbinary, but inside of the gender binary.

Neoenboy is a gender with a connection to masculinity, but in a way that's largely different from how most enboys are connected to masculinity. Neoenboy is a non-binary identity that is mostly separate from being an enboy, though it can be described as a gender that is masculine-aligned, neutral-aligned, mingender, and/or miaspec. Individuals who identify with neoenboy may identify with the term because:
- They feel like a "new" kind or type of enboy.
- They feel like they're an enboy and connected to masculinity (partially or entirely) but in a "different" way.
- They feel like an enboy, but both inside and outside of the gender binary.
Individuals who identify with neoenboy will also generally feel neutral-aligned in some way or in some extent as well as being masculine-aligned but this isn't always the case.

Neogirlby is a gender with a connection to femininity, but in a way that's largely different from how most girlbys are connected to femininity. Neogirlby is a non-binary identity that is mostly separate from being a girlby, though it can be described as a gender that is feminine-aligned, neutral-aligned, fingender, and/or fiaspec.
