Xirl (pronounced "zerl") is an identity where someone is a nonbinary girl. What this means for the individual can vary - some xirls feel that they are near-girl, some have a unique view of their girlhood outside of the binary girl experience, some may be a gender neutral or neutral-aligned girl, and some may be gender nonconforming in a way. Xirls may even be multigender or genderfluid.

The nonbinary experience is vast and there is no specific way to be a xirl or any similar gender. Xirls can choose to use any kind of pronouns or present in whichever way feels right to them.
