Okay but, Elle with an obsession with travel would fucking *adore* the speedsters. Their speed lets them go to so many places (and times!) so quickly! And their connection with the speed force makes them kinda eldritch and spooky in a way that's probably comforting away from home, and they're all the same kind of little shit ADHD sweethearts that remind her of Danny.

And like, I just *love* the idea that Clockwork shows up to swat at the FlashFam with the Ancient of Time equivalent of a rolled up newspaper for fucking with the time stream (again!) only for Elle to be there with the big eyes like "Grampa CW you're not going to be mean to my friends are you?" 🥺🥺🥺

And Clockwork just sighs and ages in a way that has nothing to go with actual time and everything to do with Elle being a hellion and is just like "okay but you have *got* to keep their time travel shenanigans under control"

Elle does not keep their time travel shenanigans under control. They in fact get much, much worse with her around. But like, it's TRAVEL through TIME! How can she possibly say no to joining in on that???

“I could’ve made some better decisions, too.” Eddie admits, hand reaching up to rub the back of his neck. “Could’ve gone to your mom’s with you. I still haven’t apologized for that. I’m sorry.” he says with so much sincerity and sorrow.

“It’s-” the word okay gets stuck in her throat. Because it’s not. It never was. She had to choose between staying with her son, and a husband she did nothing but argue with, or go spend the little time she had left with her mom. It wasn’t fair, and it wasn’t okay, and she was so tired and overwhelmed, and angry, and she couldn’t fucking do it anymore. Maybe it wasn’t the best decision, but she had to go. She had to see her mother, take care of her… say goodbye. Getting to do that is the one and only thing about that decision she doesn’t regret.

“Yeah.” Eddie breathes out, and silence falls over them, for just a few seconds that feel like forever.

“I get that you needed time.” she suddenly speaks up, not able to conceal the hurt and anger in her voice, as it still lingers there, even years later. She knows her own faults, but she’s not the only one responsible here. “You had just gotten back, you wanted to be close to your family, you needed time to adjust. I get that, and I didn’t want to pressure you, but- my mom didn’t have that much time, and I needed to be with her. I know you’d do the same if it was anyone from your family.”

“That’s true.” he says quietly.

This person, for some god damn reason: Just Block People! :) Block 60% of the fandom! Block some of your otherwise favorite artists! Just block a bunch of your mutuals/people you like the art of instead of hoping maybe one day they can maybe properly tag their art with a small warning or other notifying tag when a character is being a creep/acting like a sexual predator :))

idc what you think of gilbert, i love him for this

i love that he's resisted going back to faerghus all this time out of shame

but that shame isn't stronger than his desire to protect his home, family and king when it comes to war.

even in hopes, he wasn't ready to go back when dimitri told him to... because war hadn't broken out at that point.

as soon as his faerghus is in danger he gets worried and fights for them. in houses, he goes back home and will fight to his death for his land and people.

when it comes down to it, he doesn't run and hide in shame. boohoo he's not "perfect". at least he cares deeply for his home, his family, his people, and his king. at least he doesn't abandon them when war breaks out. at least he spends, you know, five straight years searching for his king and fighting desperately for his home.

in this house we love gilbert for who he is, who he isn't, and everything in between.
