Previous: Chapter 1
Chapter 2
There it was….
Formula One Driver Gojo Satoru getting close with Geto Suguru girlfriend Y/N
It was out for everybody around the world to see it. There was nothing nobody could do. It was out to the whole world.
The footage shows Gojo looking almost like he wants to kiss you. You just stood there staring at him while you let him be that close to you. There was no turning back now.
“So, what’s going to happen between you and Geto?” Miwa asks, taking a seat across from you.
You raised your cup of coffee to your lips and took a sip. “I mean I can totally see you two being endgame for real.” Miwa continues to talk.
You let out a sigh as you place your cup on the table. “I don’t know. Geto and I have always been complicated together.” You were telling her truth.
“And what about Satoru?” She asks.
Letting out a breath, you thought about how to respond to her question. You didn’t want to say the wrong thing either.
You shrug. “There’s not much to say.”
Miwa raised her eyebrows as she gulped the rest of her drink. You were not in the mood to talk about your emotions and feelings.
“Uh huh.” She rose up from her chair and grabbed her backpack off the floor. “Let’s go, professor said we have guests coming to our class.”
You got up from your chair while holding your backpack. You walked out of the coffee shop cafe headed directly to campus. You step inside the school and go straight to your class.
“Please don’t bore us today.” Miwa grumbles, entering the classroom.
You entered the classroom and saw your professor Grant with a few Formula One drivers. You immediately recognized who they were.
Fuck!
Choso, Toji, Geto and Nanami were all here. You wanted to say something but decided not to. You were hoping your day went smoothly but you had a feeling what kind of day it would be.
You were going to take a seat next to Miwa when someone called out to you. “Y/N!” You gently turned around to see Geto standing there with the boys.
“H–Hey.” You stutter a little.
Stop being nervous, y/n
You walked over to them and hugged everyone except Geto, who gave you a kiss. “Let’s talk after class.” He whispered in your ear.
You stepped back as Choso spoke to you. “How are you doing, Y/N?” He was always so sweet to you even though you had to get used to him having his pierced eyebrow and tattoos on his neck.
“I’m good, can’t complain.” You said with a smile.
Toji and Nanami's gaze were fixed on you. You already knew the kind of looks they were both giving you.
Fuck my life! You wanted to scream those words so loud.
“Five minutes until we begin class.” Professor Grant announces.
You clear your throat. “I better go find my–” Toji cuts you off, he gives you another look. “Bring your ass over here, Y/N.”
Toji sometimes can be tough on you but you know he means well and he is looking out for the both of you.
You moved one step closer to him. “I have to take a seat, Toji.”
His dark eyes locked on yours. “When are you going to stop leading him on?”
You honestly shouldn’t be talking about this in class right now. This was not the time and place for it.
“Um, how is that any of your business?” You mock him.
Sometimes you wish Toji would be less protective and more polite in a way. He was always straight to the point.
“Y/N, I’m just looking out for the both of you but we both know whatever between you two has been going on for a while now.” He says.
Nanami joins the conversation. “He got a point there.”
You looked at Nanami as you heard Choso trying not to chuckle behind you. “Look, Geto has nothing to worry about.”
“Keep lying, buttercup.” Choso muttered.
You scoff and walk away, walking to your seat next to Miwa. You start to get annoyed that they're here. You sat down and took your notebook and black pen out of your backpack.
“What was that about?” Maki turned around in her seat in front of you.
You rolled your eyes. “Well, hello to you too”
Miwa chuckled softly. “All of them look so glad to see you.” You roll your eyes and feel annoyed.
As the class finally began, Professor Grant introduced the race car drivers who would be taking over the class for the day. You mostly listened to what they were saying.
“How do you deal with the media following you every race?” One of the students raised their hand while paying attention to them.
This time it was Geto who answered. “We mostly ignored them while focusing on what’s not going on around us.”
“And how do you deal with dating a college student in your late thirties and she is in her early thirties?” Another student asked a question.
And the shit begins
You immediately feel humiliated, but not ashamed. You drop deeper into your seat, resting your palm on your brow to cover your expression.
“Careful kid.” Toji warned him.
Choso pushed off the professor's desk. “We didn’t come here for you guys to ask personal questions that have nothing to do with you.”
Nanami interrupted. “We are here for you guys to learn so act like it.” His voice was serious.
You glance at them and mouth. “Thank you.” The three of them just nodded as they continued on with talking to the class.
“You don’t feel how many miles you go in a race car. You get used to it.” Geto said.
You wrote some stuff in your notebook before the professor dismissed class. You rose up from your seat placing your notebook and pen in your backpack.
“I must say maybe Toji feels the most about you.” Maki slung her backpack over her shoulder.
You shake your head. “In his dreams. No, he’s just protective, that's all. So are the others.”
Maki slung her backpack over her shoulder. “We will wait for you out there.” She walked out the classroom with Miwa behind her.
You close your backpack holding it with your hand going straight to the professor's desk. You gave a hug to each one of them before pulling away.
“Thank you guys again.” You tell them.
Nanami shrugs. “Don’t mention it.”
Choso fixes his hat on his head. “Geto, we will be outside waiting for you.” He walks off heading out the door.
Toji gave you a glare look as he walked out with Choso and Nanami. You stood there standing in front of Geto. You didn’t rush to speak first.
“Am I a joke to you? Why can’t you take me seriously?”
His question caught you off guard.
You slung your backpack over your shoulder. “No, I've been with you this whole time G.”
He shakes his head. “Don’t bullshit me, y/n. I see the way you were around him in that video.”
You huffs. “Nothing happened unlike you and her.” He knows exactly who you are talking about.
You see the way she looks at him every time you are with him. A part of you never saw yourself being in this type of situation.
He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. “She doesn’t mean shit to me.” He took a step toward you. “I always wanted to be with you. You know that.”
Your gaze was on him. “Gojo, doesn’t mean nothing to me.”
He sighs, pressing his lips against your forehead. “Ok.” You can tell he didn’t believe you but he decided to brush it off.
You close your eyes for a moment then open your eyes. “Ok.” You turned around and walked out of the classroom door.
Choso, Nanami and Toji nodded at you before they walked away with Geto right by their side. Choso looked over his shoulder at you with those dark brown eyes. “Make good choices, buttercup!” He yelled out.
You suck your teeth and lean against the wall. “Kill me now.” You mutter to yourself. You didn't notice the tear rolling down your cheek.
You should have listened to yourself before you got into these situations. You should have let Geto go his own way but for some reason you can’t see him out of your life.
Being around Gojo that day brought back some memories you had avoided thinking about all this time. Even the words he used to say to you when you were in your mid twenties.
“I can never imagine my life without you. No matter where we go, what happens between us I will always love you.” Gojo said seriously.
You look at him not saying a word.
“I will always be here for you.” He says.
From that moment, you wanted to kiss him but that’s when Geto called you that day. Those words never went away no matter how hard you try.
You wipe your tears away with your hand when your two best friends approach you. “Y/N, are you ok?” Miwa had a concerned expression on her face.
“What’s wrong?” Maki asked.
You had to pull yourself together. Almost every student was staring at you and whispering to each other.
“I’m fine. I’m fine.” You sniffle, taking your phone out of your jeans pocket.
A bunch of formula one fanpages were following you on instagram as you looked at the notification on your screen. You received a few text messages from interviewers who wanted to talk to you about Geto and Gojo.
You ignored the notification and checked your text messages.
Geto: Race this weekend, let me know if you can make it
Geto: I just want to make sure we are good babe
Geto: I love you and I’m not losing you ❤️
Those words made your heart shattered to pieces. You heard him say those three words a few times to you even though you didn’t pay it no mind.
“Oh, he loves you!” Maki raised her voice.
You glare at her and put your phone back into your pocket. “Keep your voice down, Ma!” You quickly walk with them not letting nobody hear your conversation.
“He got it bad for you.” Miwa smirks.
You headed straight to your next class while laughing with them both. You only wish your life was normal again but you figured it was about to get complicated.

Scars To Your Beautiful - James Potter
A/N: I have no idea how I was able to finish this xD thank you @captainlunaxmen for all your help! I hope yo loves like this :)
Request - @nix-rose asked: What about a James Potter x Black!Reader (if reader can have some personality: extrovert, loyal, gryffindor but could probably be a slytherin, just a happy person, definitely rough and tumble but still enjoys looking cute-) “Have you… Always been this beautiful?” “…That’s so cheesy even for your standards.”
Warnings: reader is really insecure, mentions of abusive parents, James protecting you from a creep (nothing to explicit though) also, this isn't proofread :D
Disclaimer: I don’t own Harry Potter :) gif isn’t mine :D

Scars To Your Beautiful
But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark You should know you're beautiful just the way you are And you don't have to change a thing, The world could change its heart No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful
Tumblr media
The ‘other Black’. That's how you were known in Hogwarts.
You knew your family wasn’t perfect. As much as they all like to make it seem that way, it was very much far from it. Being part of The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black brought a lot of pressure with it, but you were used to it by now. And, deep down, you loved your family. At least your brothers and your cousins. Well, two of your cousins, you were always pretty terrified of Bellatrix after she enchanted all of hers and her sisters’ ancient creepy dolls to come alive and it still terrified you to your very core today. But you loved Andromeda and Narcissa, even if the latter was now spending all of her time with Lucius Malfoy and you saw less and less of her.
Even if you’d never admit it, you were always a bit envious of them. Not in a bad way, you just… wondered a little how it would feel to be like them. You remembered guys literally fighting to get your cousins’ attention. And not a day went by without you having to hear at least ten different people saying how gorgeous your brothers were.
And then, there was you. You had a respectable reputation since you were part of the Black family. But it sometimes felt like you weren’t worthy enough to be part of it. You’ve sometimes noticed some guys staring at you a bit too long. And you’ve gone out with a few guys before. But you’ve also had people come to you specifically to get closer to one of your relatives. And nobody had referred to you as beautiful. Well, no one, except…
“Hey, beautiful” you heard that very familiar voice standing next to you.
“Potter” you smirked.
“Going to the match today?”
“The Slytherin-Gryffindor match?” you smiled. “Oh, I wouldn’t miss it for the world” you told him.
“Good, cause I need my good luck charm” he said as the two of you walked to the Great Hall.
“Exactly, how does that work, Potter? Because I’m not really rooting for your team” you reminded him and he scoffed, pretending to be offended.
“But of course you are, your brother plays on my team-”
“My other brother plays for my team” you interrupted.
“Well, maybe not the team but… I’m sure you like the Gryffindor captain more than Slytherin’s” he smiled sweetly at you.
“Well, you got me there, Potter” you admitted.
“Promise you’ll come to the party when we win?” he asked as you entered the Great Hall and you knew you would separate.
“That’s a lot of talk, Potter” you smirked but he offered his pinky to you. You rolled your eyes but you took it. “Never speak of this” you told him.
“See you there, beautiful” he said before he saw you walk to your table.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
“Here” you said, sitting down next to your brother at Potions and handing him a small bag.
“What’s this?” he asked, grabbing the bag.
“That girl from Ravenclaw wanted me to give you this. I think she wants to ask you to Hogsmeade next weekend” you said, grabbing one of the chocolates inside. “Bite this, if it doesn’t have a love potion, I’m stealing them” you said.
“I’m not trying anything!” he complained. “Remember when we had to take care of Sirius after that girl from Hufflepuff basically drugged him?”
“I know, that’s why I wanted you to try them first” you chuckled.
“Hold on” he said, grabbing his wand and pointing it at the candy. “We’re good” he said when a small purple dust came out of it. You grabbed one of the chocolates and Regulus grabbed another one, reading the note inside. “So, how was your talk with Potter this morning?”
“I didn't talk to Potter this morning” you frowned, stealing some of his chocolates.
“Don’t do that. I’m not Sirius” Regulus glared at you. “I’m not oblivious of how you two just casually entered the Great Hall together” he said.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Reggie” you said, pretending to be confused.
“Or whenever he goes to Honeydukes he just happens to buy one too many Peppermint Toads so he gives you some, which just so happens to be your favorite” he said.
“He doesn’t… do that” you said, with your mouth half full of chocolate.
“Are you… playing dumb? Or have you actually not noticed this?”
“Notice what? James is just friendly. That’s how he is” you tried to explain.
“Really? He’s never gotten me Sugar Quills” Regulus said.
“He doesn’t like Sugar Quills, why would he buy those?”
“He doesn’t like Peppermint Toads either” he smirked.
“Y-yes he does!” you argued, nervously.
“No, he likes Chocolate Frogs, like the rest of us normal people” he said, as you glared at him. “And besides, it’s not just that. He’s always asking Sirius and me what your favorite books are, or asking Remus which songs you liked” he shrugged.
“He… he does?”
“Does he really strike you as the guy who would read Pride and Prejudice for the fun of it?”
“He might” you tried to convince yourself as you grabbed another chocolate.
“Look, I know what you’re doing, and I know why you’re doing it. And it’s not worth it, bug” he said, getting serious.
“It’s easy for you to say, Reg” you mumbled, picking another chocolate. “Look, it’s just… not that easy for me” you added.
“You’ve gone out with guys before” he frowned, confused.
“Not like James” you added. “What if… what if he’s really just being friendly? What if I think he’s interested in me and then I make a complete fool of myself? Just because he’s nice to me and I think there might be something else there? I feel…” you sighed, looking down at your hands. “It feels pathetic” you mumbled.
“First of all, there’s nothing wrong with you liking James. Having feelings doesn’t make you pathetic” he said in a serious tone. “Secondly, did you not listen to what I just said? I honestly don’t think that James is just nice to you randomly like he’s nice to everyone else. He’s always looking for excuses to be around you, and he seems happier when he is. As do you. And, to be honest, I thought you were as oblivious about this as Sirius is, but now that I know that you were just trying to live in denial well, you’re dumber than Sirius- OUCH!”
“Excuse me?!” you asked, offended.
“Only when it comes to this” he defended himself. “Look, I know that… for some reason, you’ve convinced yourself that you’re never going to find someone who fancies you-”
“For some reason? There is a very clear reason, Regulus, her name is Walburga!”
“I know” he rolled his eyes. He knew very well about the hierarchy of the three of you in your home. And even if you were still not as below as Sirius because you were in Slytherin, your mother never let you forget that you were not Regulus or any of your cousins for that matter. “And I know that is not easy for you to turn off her voice in your head but, if you don’t, you might miss your chance to be with someone who is actually a great fit for you and it looks like he really likes you” he explained. “Don’t do that. If you let her win, you’re admitting that she’s right. And we all know, she’s not” he reminded you. “What’s the worst that could happen if you give Potter a chance?”
“It’s very annoying when you’re right all the time, did you know that?”
“I do” he smiled triumphally, eating one last piece of chocolate as Professor Slughorn finally entered the class.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
“Ugh, what is it?” you heard your cousin’s annoyed voice on the other side of the door that you knocked on before it opened, and she appeared. “Oh, hey, love” she smiled when she saw it was you.
“Hi, Cissa, um… is this a bad time?” you asked, hoping you were not just interrupting her having sex with Malfoy.
“Oh, no, love. Lucius is just moping about losing the match” she laughed, stepping out. “What’s up?”
“Um, w-well, I wanted to ask for a favor… if you’re not too busy” you smiled.
“Please, anything to get away from Lucius” she said, linking her arm with yours and already walking over to your dorm. “So, what’s going on?” she said, stepping into your dorm and noticing all the clothes scattered around your bed and the floor.
“Well, I was hoping to get your opinion on something” you said, smiling sweetly.
“Let me guess” she said, sitting on your bed and grabbing a few skirts and dresses. “You’re going to the Gryffindor party to see James Potter” she said, erasing the smile off your face.
“Wha-? How did you know? Did Regulus tell you?”
“Oh, please, love, I’m sure you and Sirius are the only ones who didn’t know” she laughed.
“What?”
“Yeah, Bella and Andy also know” she informed you.
“What? How?”
“I told them” she shrugged.
“Ugh, great” you said, throwing yourself on your bed. “My entire family is discussing my pathetic crush” you lamented.
“It could be worse” she said. “At least he’s a pureblood” she smiled.
“Right” you said awkardly, sitting up. Of course that would be the only pro she’d find on James.
“Besides, he obviously likes you back” she said as she started looking through the dresses. “Stand up” she said, pulling you up and putting the dress in front of you.
“How are you so sure that he likes me back?”
“Oh, please, love. You can’t be that dense” she snorted. “The boy won’t leave you alone. And I’m pretty sure you’re the only one not from Gryffindor to get invited to their parties” she said. “Or at least the only Slytherin” she said.
“W-well, maybe Sirius invited me-”
“Then why isn’t Regulus going?”
“Okay, fair” you sighed.
“This looks pretty. How come you haven’t worn it before?” she asked, holding up a black dress.
“Oh, I got it a while ago in a very cute shop, but, I know it’s not something my mother would ever let me wear” you told her.
“Well, lucky for us, your mum isn’t here” she said, throwing the dress at you.
After you put it on, Narcissa happily sat back down on your bed and helped you with your makeup.
“Hey, Cissa?”
“Try not to move, I’m doing your eyes” she said.
“How do you um… get a guy to uh… notice you?” you asked, making your cousin’s look soften a little.
“James Potter already notices you, love” she smiled.
“W-well, yeah, I guess b-but, um… how do I let him know that I like him?” you asked. “You know, without actually telling him” you chuckled.
“You mean, how do you flirt with him?”
“It’s just… Regulus insists that he does these things to get my attention and… to be honest, I didn’t think it was any different from the way he acts with other girls so… I guess I have been acting normal, but… I’d like him to know that I’m interested, I guess…”
“Well, Potter seems to have a big ego, so congratulate him on how well he played today” she said as she kept doing her makeup and you glared at her a little.
“And Lucius is as humble as they come, I suppose” you muttered.
“Fair point” she said, before she continued. “Look, you already know he’s interested in you. Just smile at him, laugh at his stupid jokes, you should be fine” she insisted as she finished. “Okay, I’m done” she smiled. You got up and walked over looking at yourself in the mirror.
For the first time, in a very long time, you actually felt beautiful. Narcissa had managed to make you look as elegant and flawless as you did whenever your family had a dinner party, but you didn’t feel like you were wearing a costume in one of the dresses your mother always picked. You felt like yourself. You turned around and hugged your cousin tightly.
“Thank you so much, Cissa!” you smiled.
“You’re welcome, love. Now go flirt with your dumb boy” she said, ushering you outside your dorm.
“You too” you said, smiling and walking down the stairs as she rolled her eyes.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
When you entered the Gryffindor Tower, the party was already in full mode. You felt a few people, guys specifically, looking your way but you thought maybe it was because you were possibly the only Slytherin here. You walked across the Common Room, looking for James, but you found a different Marauder first.
“Hi, Remus” you smiled as he walked over to you.
“Oh, thank Merlin you’re here” he hugged you. “You’re the only person I like at this party and now Prongs can finally stop moping about you not being here” he said, making you laugh a little as he pulled away and looked at you. “Wow… you look-?”
“Bad?” you panicked.
“What? No! You look lovely” he smiled. “Prongs’ probably gonna have a heart attack though” he smirked.
“Shut up! Stop saying things like that!” you widened your eyes at him.
“Oh, please don’t tell me that you are as oblivious as your brother” he chuckled.
“I am not-! You know, I hit Regulus for saying that today!”
“Alright, don’t hit me” he said, putting his hands up in surrender. “But, you cannot tell me that you haven’t noticed the way Prongs acts around you. He was literally throwing a fit about you not coming today” he insisted.
“Really? Because he seems fine to me” you said, pointing behind Remus where you saw James talking to a group of very pretty girls as he offered a drink to one of them while another one threw her hair back, clearly flirting with him.
“That means nothing” Remus said, rolling his eyes when he looked back to you. “That’s how James is-”
“Exactly, that’s how James is” you repeated.
“No, it’s different with you” Remus insisted as he grabbed a drink and handed it to you.
“Really? Enlighten me” you glared at him.
“So, you are admitting you are as oblivious as Sirius then?”
“You know, you’re making a big deal out of that for someone who is just as oblivious on my brother’s crush on him-”
“What?!” Remus said, choking on his drink and pulling you aside. “Alright, now you’re just making stuff up” he said.
“I’m not! You really haven’t noticed how Sirius is obnoxiously loud whenever you’re around to get your attention?”
“He… does not” Remus said, blushing a little.
“Or that he calls you sweet names” you smirked.
“He calls everyone ‘love’” he interrupted.
“Yes, he does” you nodded. “But he only calls you ‘my’ love” you added.
“He… does not” he repeated.
“What are you doing here?” Sirius asked, walking over to the two of you all of the sudden.
“Nothing” Remus quickly said.
“Being normal, why?” you said at the same time, making Sirius raise an eyebrow at the two of you. “Um… h-have you seen James?”
“No, but I am seeing too much of something” he said, gesturing his hand at your body. “What the bloody hell are you wearing?”
“A dress?” you said, looking down at yourself.
“That is too revealing. You need to go change!”
“First of all, it is not. And secondly, your shirt is literally completely open!” you complained.
“Yeah, well, this isn’t anything they haven’t seen before” he defended himself. “I am not in the mood to fight some prick that stares at you for a little too long because of… that” he said. “Go upstairs and grab my jacket” he told you.
“What? No!” you complained.
“Yes” he insisted. “Would you reason with her, my love?” he asked, looking at Sirius and you smirked when he blushed furiously.
“Shut up” he whispered to you. “Look, just go upstairs and pretend to look for a jacket, I’ll distract him and you can come back in a few minutes” he said while Sirius finished his drink.
“Ugh, fine” you rolled your eyes.
“How come she only listens to you?” Sirius complained, pouting at Remus. “It must be your beautiful eyes” he smiled.
“How many of those have you had?” Remus asked, taking his glass away from him.
You made it upstairs to the boys’ dorm and went over to Sirius' trunk to look for one of his jackets.  You found one that you kind of liked and put it on before you went back downstairs. You looked for James but saw he was still talking to the group of girls. You tried to look for your brother instead but saw him very busy with Remus and you didn’t want to interrupt so you went to grab something to drink.
“I didn’t know they let Slytherins into our parties” you heard Augustus McLaggen on your left, pouring himself a drink as well.
“Oh” you said nervously. You were rarely alone at these things. You would at least have Regulus by your side and he would make someone go away if you were uncomfortable. “W-well, James invited me and- I was with my brother-”
“Relax, darling, I’m joking” he smirked, walking closer to you.
“Oh” you smiled wearily.
“It’s actually a bit… refreshing to have someone from another house” he said.
“Um… thanks?”
“There’s something different about you” he said, eyeing you up and down. “I can’t quite put my finger on it” he said, making you pull your jacket a little closer.
“Hey! You finally came, love” you thankfully heard James’ voice coming towards you and wrapping his arm around your waist. “I thought you were standing me up” he said, kissing your head.
“J-James, hi” you smiled relieved.
“Sorry, mate, gotta steal her for a bit” he said, smirking at McLaggen who was glaring at him and he quickly pulled you aside.
“Thank you” you told him as the two of you walked away.
“Don’t mention it, love. McLaggen’s a prick, why were you talking to him?”
“I wasn’t talking to him! He was talking to me” you insisted as James raised his eyebrow. “I was just getting a drink! And I was gonna go look for you-”
“Are you wearing my jacket?” he asked, confused.
“Y-your… what?” you said, looking down at your jacket. “This is y-your jacket?” you asked confused.
“Yeah” he smiled.
“Oh, I’m sorry, it was in Sirius’ trunk” you said, confused. “I thought-”
“Yeah, beautiful. I’m gonna save you some time, probably none of our clothes is in the correct trunk” he laughed. “Except Remus’” he added.
“I’m sorry” you said, starting to take it off.
“N-no! Don’t worry about it, gorgeous. Are you cold? Is that why you wanted my jacket? ‘Cause it looks good on you- I mean, you look beautiful tonight” he said smiling at you. “W-well, you always do” he added.
“R-really?” you smiled, feeling your cheeks blush.
“Yeah” he nodded. “You don’t need the jacket if you ask me-”
“Oh, um, w-well…” you stuttered. “Sirius just… didn’t like my dress and said I needed a jacket” you rolled your eyes.
“Well, Padfoot just needs to snog Moony and mind his business” he laughed, making you laugh as well. “You look beautiful with that dress” he smiled dreamily at you.
“Thank you, James” you said, feeling your heart flutter. “Wait, you know about that?”
“How Sirius calls Moony ‘my’ love? Of course I do” he chuckled. “So, what took you so long to come? Were you crying all this time because your house lost?”
“Really? Did you want me to come just to brag about the match, Potter? I can still leave” you smirked as he handed you a drink.
“Please don’t. I was so bored before you came” he said, walking you over to one of the sofas near a window.
“I find that very hard to believe” you said, looking around.
“Why do you always think I’m lying?” James asked, placing his hand on the sofa, behind you.
“Because I’ve known you since I’m eleven?” you replied, making him glare at you a little.
“That hurts, love” he said, trying to sound offended. “When have I ever lied to you?”
“Well, for starters, you didn’t tell me that you, my brother, and Peter became Animagi to help Remus-”
“That was your brother. He didn’t let us tell you” he defended himself.
“Alright” you said, trying to suppress your smile. “So, you’ve never lied to me?”
“Never, love” he insisted.
“Not even to avoid hurting my feelings?” you raised your eyebrow at him and noticed him tense a little.
“N-no, of course not” he said, taking a sip of his drink.
“So, last Christmas when you invited us over and your mum was teaching me how to cook, you actually liked the Christmas Pudding I made?”
“Of course I did” he chuckled.
“James” you glared at him.
“Yes, love?” he smiled, goofily at you.
“I mistakenly added salt instead of sugar, it was ruined” you laughed.
“No, no. It wasn’t ruined. It gave it a new better taste” he shrugged.
“James!” you laughed.
“What? It’s true! I liked it” he insisted.
“Nobody else ate it! You can’t possibly think it was good” you laughed.
“Well, I did” he shrugged, turning your way.
“You’re really stubborn, did you know that?”
“Oh, and you’re not?” he laughed making you smile. “Have you… always been this beautiful?”
“That’s so cheesy, Potter, even for your standards” you chuckled, feeling your cheeks burning.
“Wait… do you-? Do you not believe me?” he asked, his tone getting serious.
“I- um… I do” you said, unconvincingly.
“You don’t” he said, turning himself to you. “It is one thing that you don’t believe that I liked your Christmas Pudding-”
“You didn't” you insisted.
“But how can you not believe me about that?”
“I do!” you insisted. “It’s just… I’m sorry, I’m being stupid” you smiled sadly, looking at your drink.
“No, you’re not” James insisted, placing his hand under your chin to make you look at him. “What’s going on, love? Did- did I say something wrong?”
“No!” you quickly said. “You never say anything wrong” you smiled sadly. “It’s just… I’m not really used to um… hearing that” you said, feeling your cheeks blush.
“Love, I tell you that every single day! Why is it so hard for you to believe me?”
“Because, James, look at my entire family” you said, sadly. “You know who I live with. My mother is not warm and loving like your mum is. I grew up very differently than you” you reminded him, making his look turn soft and his heart break a little. “I know you wouldn’t lie to me” you added. “It’s just… not easy for me to believe it, I guess” you smiled sadly.
“Well, love” he said, moving closer to you and placing his hand softly on your cheek. “If you’re okay with it, I will keep saying it until you believe me” he told you. “Because you are the most beautiful person that I have seen in my life. And, since apparently I haven’t been as obvious as I thought I was, I am completely and madly in love with you and I would love to take you out on a date” he said, making your heart stop.
“R-really?” you asked and he raised his eyebrows at you. “I m-mean, y-yes, I would love to go on a date with you” you smiled. “And… in case you didn’t know because I’m horrible at this… I am very much in love with you too” you added, making the biggest smile appear on James’ face. “And I also think you’re really beautiful” you said before he pulled you in to kiss you on the lips.
“I love you, beautiful” he said, making you smile.
“I love you too, Jamie” you said. “Can I ask you one more thing?”
“Anything” he said.
“Do you like Peppermint Toads?” you asked suddenly, remembering your conversation with Regulus.
“Do I uh-” he frowned. “Why are you asking me that?” he chuckled nervously.
“You always give me Peppermint Toads when you say you bought too many but… I don’t think I’ve seen you have one” you explained.
“Well, love… I hate to break it to you, but nobody likes Peppermint Toads” he admitted.
“That’s not true!”
“Yes, it is” he said, kissing your cheek. “I just bought them because you always smiled when I gave them to you” he said. “So, I’ll buy you as many as you want” he said, hugging you to him and giving you another peck on the lips.
"Thanks, love" you smiled. "Can you now tell me if you actually liked my Christmas Pudding?"
"I did!"
The End

Hazbin Swap AU (PT2 ig???)
ok i need to share my ideas right now. Chaggie is real. Chaggie will always be real. - During an extermination, Charlie got injured attempting to protect a sinner, only being spared when the exorcist clocked her as the princess - Vaggie, an exorcist, found her hiding and caring for her wounds, she didn't recognise her as the literal princess, but she couldnt help but feel guilty and chose to help her. She was never caught by the other angels, meaning she was blessed enough to keep her eye and wings!!!! She stayed in hell tho cause love at first sight and lalallala yeah. Sapphics guys !!!! Husk, Niffty, & Angel take the place of the Vee's - they're that overlord trio. They're probably a bit more.. Merciful (except for Niffty she's deranged) but yk. Still inherently bad people n stuff Vox is the first hotel resident - except he & Alastor still have beef. He only showed up so he could do the exact opposite of proving the hotel to work as a big fuck you. Alastor does NOT want him there but he's their only guest so he kind of has to just accept it - he acts all friendly because he knows it pisses Vox off OVERLORD VAGGIE !!!! Charlie & Vaggie basically co-own souls - when Charlie says they share EVERYTHING she means EVERYTHING. Charlie already owned a lot of souls before meeting Vaggie, because, you know, she actually better embodies the whole "princess of hell" in this, and when they got together she was IMMEDIATELY LIKE "Vaggie I have a GENIUS idea. Since we're like girlfriends and stuff we should totes share like EVERYTHING so do you want to like - co-own all the souls I have?" And so Vaggie rose to power fairly quickly. Dating the princess of hell does wonders man Obviously. Alastor is the one starting the hotel, and Rosie is like. His Vaggie basically, she's there for moral support. - Also, unlike canon.. Rosie would be the one who doesn't know who Charlie is (where Angel didn't know about Alastor) Alastor: "Rosie! The... Princess of Hell is at the dooor..." Rosie: "Who?" Vox: "WHAT?" Charlie shows up cause her dad sends her a call about having to go see heaven in a weeks time and she REALLLYYY doesn't wanna go because ouhhh last time she talked to Adam he was an ASSHOLE and she would rather kill herself than talk to him again - so when she finds out about the hotel her immediate reaction is to head there and see if they'd rather take on the burden of seeing heaven. Cause you know, surely they'd love to get heaven behind their whole redemption shit, right???? They arent. Alastor is not at all interested in talking to heaven but Charlie really isn't having it and girl is BEGGING him to just take the offer because she PROMISES they'll be on it - the few silent threats she added are nobodies business chat.. Adam lowkey fucks w the idea of sinners being redeemed but he's also just too stubborn and prideful to agree and hes also mad he didn't come up w it first so he tells Al to FUCK OFF bc his idea is so stupid :// (Its genius and he refuses to admit it.) I need to include all the Vee's for the sake of my mental health so. - Valentino works for Angel Dust (wow. shocker so original /s) & when the little group finds out that THE princess of hell is helping some nobody overlord like Alastor they are just ??? and sent Val in to see what the FUCK is wrong with the girl. And what theyre getting up to - Charlie drags Velvette & Pentious in by the hair to work at the hotel - She met Pentious when he was in a bad situation and offered to help him in exchange for his soul - despite this, she didn't really use her ownership of his soul to her advantage and they became friends :3 He's happy to help - Velvette sold her soul to Vaggie for protection from the princess's very own guardian angel because she kept getting into shit with overlords and needed to save her ass. & again, Chaggie co-own souls

Take A Seat
Tumblr media
Peter Parker x reader
Masterlist
--------------------------------------------------
It was pretty much still the same for Peter at college. Except that there was no Ned with him to accompany him to his classes.
Nobody really paid attention to him, and he just did his own thing.
But, what he didn't expect was this-
YOU sitting on HIS lap during the class lecture.
Now now, get your minds out of the gutter, it was nothing lewd. You just sat there, and took whatever notes you needed for the class.
Wondering how Peter first got into this position? Let's rewind the scenery a bit shall we?
Mr. Stark had helped Peter after graduation to create a fake cover for him so that he could continue being Spiderman, and also continue the so-called stark internship.
Peter already knew whatever was needed and actually didn't require any extra education and, as Ned put it, his brain had already reached the Einstein Nirvana (Peter truly didn't know what it meant), but he still enjoyed studying.
But sadly, he was not really good at navigating classes on his first day. And he was too shy to ask anyone.
But, after running around, he finally found the classroom with the same room number as printed on his pamphlet.
He also didn't know what class this was, he just knew he had to come to this room and do...something. He wanted to ask someone about it, but yet again refrained cause the students looked like they were already dreading the possible future here.
So Peter, with his brain full of doubts, just simply walked inside and sat down ona random bench inside the classroom.
God knows for how long Peter simply sat there, looking around.
The classes slowly filled up and after a few minutes, the professor had also arrived.
Suddenly, Peter felt a light tap on his shoulder.
He turned out to see a girl standing there, eyebrows raised.
"......can I help you?" Peter asks, feeling a little intimidated under her stare.
"....You are in my seat" She says in a low voice.
Peter blinks at her, before eyes widen in realisation.
"Oh I'm so-" But, before Peter could make a run for it and spend his time ranting to Ned about how he embarrassed himself, the girl simply plopped onto his lap and took out her stationaries.
Peter was..... flabbergasted.
Not only him, pretty much the whole class.
Peter felt his skin crawl under the scrutinizing stares of his classmates. His skin felt hot as the blush rose from his neck till the tip of his ears.
"Uh- Miss-" He stuttered, trying to form coeherent words but it was a failure.
The girl simply ignored him, perched on his thigh and kept her eyes on the board.
Peter was confused as to why the proffessor was not saying anything, and also why the girl just decided to just- sit on his lap.
Usually, his tingle would have gone haywire by now, being so close to an unknown person. But suprisingly, it was calm.
And if he was being honest, he kind of liked the feeling.
The perfume the girl had on was soft, and did not irritate his heightened senses. Which usually is near any female.
Was it even her perfume?
Or was it her body scent?
Peter did not know. He decided to let it go and just enjoy the moment.
"Am I heavy?" A sudden voice, whispered slowly.
It was from the girl sitting on his lap.
"Huh- No no, absolutely not. I mean, do you feel uncomfortable? I can move away if you want" Peter gushed. He didn't want to make the woman feel uncomfortable at all.
"Nah, I'm comfortable. Thanks for the soft seat by the way" she said and he could practically hear the wink she threw at him.
"No problem miss..." Peter drew out.
"Y/N" she replied.
"Miss Y/N" Peter said, and smiled. Pretty name.
Lecture continued, nobody really paid attention to Peter and Y/N at all, the fomer being completely covered by the latter.
Y/N would softly tell him what the proffessor was talking about whenever he would not catch it clearly, and said she is taking notes inplace of him as a thank you.
The whole ordeal felt completely normal for both of them, nobody felt even an ounce of uncomfortable feeling seep into their bones, and felt like they knew each other long.
Peter could honestly confess, Y/N was a pretty woman.
Never in a million years would Peter imagine to ask someone like her to go out with him. And never in a billion years could help imagine a girl like her paying attention to him.
Peter suddenly felt her legs shaking.
Peter's eyes grew.
Oh my god is she-
Peter took a quick peak and saw she was actually not sitting down with all her body weight, and supported her body with her legs which had started to shake due to the strain.
Peter breathed a sigh of relief. It would have been a big mess if she was-
You know it.
You all know it.
But, instictinvely, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her up, securely setting her down comfortable on his lap, and relieving her legs from the harsh and odd strain.
He heard an involuntary gasp tumble out from her throat, as he did it.
But surprisingly, she didn't stop him.
And what even more suprising was that she didn't shove his hands away from her waist, where he had his hands wrapped around.
They both were full on cuddling in class during a lecture.
Ned was going to flip.
Peter loved the softness and fullness of her waist, and it felt like he was hugging a giant teddy.
The feeling was so good that he leaned his head in her back and sighed out in content.
He felt soft hands carrass his arms and wash all his worries away for sometime.
He simply was enjoying the moment a lot.
"Class Dismissed" the proffessor announced.
The body in top of him didn't move, and neither did he.
There was several shuffling sounds as the class emptied out, leaving them both there alone.
"....Tired?" Y/N asked him, feeling him nod on her back.
"Well.....do you want me to get up?" She asked once again. But he groaned and tightened his arms around her, not ready to leave the warm and comfortable pillow he was holding.
The girl laughed out and patted his hands "Let's go get coffee- what's your name?" She asked.
"Peter, Peter Parker." He replied, voice muffled.
"Okay, let's go for a cup of coffee Peter. It's a date" She said with a smile. Getting a smile back in return.

good luck, babe!
Pairing: Elle Greenaway/Fem!Reader
Word Count: ~1600
Warnings: Internalized homophobia, sad ending
A/N: I could not tell you where this came from but here it is
Tumblr media
In the dark, alone, in the middle of nowhere, always looking over her shoulder; these were the moments you had with Elle, but you'd rather have a little bit of her than none at all. Her lips were warm and soft against your own, and you laughed quietly when you reached up to touch your lips and found her lipstick there. You wanted to leave it, you wanted it to stay there forever, until the investigators you worked with finally put two and two together. Her shade, your mouth. Proof.
Proof that you weren't imagining it all, that you had her, even if nobody knew that you did. You felt like everyone knew she had you, thought that it would be obvious by the way you looked at her when she was talking, like she was a comet and you were the astronomer who had spent your life looking for it.
Your lips must have stilled, mind too busy to remember what you were doing, and Elle pulled away.
"What?" You said, as if you didn't know what the problem was.
Now that her eyes were open, she looked down at your lips and passed you a tissue from her center console.
"We should go."
You looked at your watch. "You still have a few hours left of the stakeout. What if he turns up right after we leave?"
"I have a bad feeling."
"About him or about us?"
She frowned at you. It always made you feel like a child, the patience and grace of the cool older kid having run out. Silent, rejected. There was nothing you could do to convince her.
Her phone rang.
"Still awake?"
It was Hotch.
"I think I might call it a night. There's no movement."
"Morgan and Reid are on their way there so you two can get some sleep. I'll see you back at the station at eight."
You groaned. That was barely three hours from now.
Elle's eyes shot over to you, and she muted the phone quickly.
"Elle? Is someone with you?"
"Shut up," She hissed at you, before unmuting the call.
"Just the windshield wipers, I think they're out of fluid."
You heard Hotch hum affirmatively over the line.
"Morgan should be there soon. Bye."
Elle snapped her phone shut, then looked back at you.
"What the fuck? Are you trying to get us caught?"
"I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking."
"Get out."
"What? We're miles from the hotel, Elle-"
"Walk a couple of blocks that way. I'll pick you up when Morgan gets here."
"It's freezing out there."
Elle rested her head in her hands.
"Do you want to explain to Morgan why you're here, with me, when you're supposed to be sleeping?"
"No, but-"
"Get out. I'll pick you up soon."
You felt your face falling and got out of the car before Elle could see your lip wobbling and your brow furrowing. Hot, frustrated tears spilled over your cheeks and you wiped them away roughly with the corner of your sleeve. You walked fast. You couldn't remember which way the hotel was, but it didn't matter.
___
"C'mon Elle, there has to be somebody," Penelope smiles.
She's looking everywhere except you, and it stings like a slap to the face.
She opens her phone and pulls out a picture of her kissing some guy's cheek. The background is blurry, but it looks like a bar somewhere. The next photo is her smiling widely, her arm wrapped around his neck as he laughs. You feel like you're going to be sick.
"It never lasts," She grins, with a shrug. "Just the way I am, I guess."
"Or the job," JJ interjects. "It's hard, with these hours."
"That too." Elle raises her drink. "Well, here's to my girls."
Nobody notices that your smile doesn't reach your eyes when you clink your glass against theirs.
___
In a bout of desperation, you have a dozen red roses delivered to the BAU, with nothing but a heart written on the tiny card. All you want is for Elle to look at you, to blush, to thank you, to acknowledge that you exist. While you were sitting at your desk, waiting for the delivery, you made the mistake of imagining an even better outcome: Elle running across the bullpen, arms wide open, and planting a kiss on your mouth in front of everyone. She gives some speech, saying that she doesn't care who sees, she doesn't care what they think anymore. The two of you laugh and rest your heads against each other, smelling the roses.
It's a mistake.
"It's a mistake," Elle shakes her head, looking the card over. "Wrong address."
She drops the roses easily into the bin beside her desk, and turns back to her computer.
JJ stares at her. "I could take them. If you're just going to throw them away."
"They're not mine," Elle says harshly.
"Well, someone should enjoy them." JJ stoops down and picks up the stems tenderly, and Elle wrests them from her grasp, tearing the card from the cellophane.
That attracts everybody else's attention again.
Elle crumples the card into a ball and puts it on the far corner of her desk.
"Elle? Everything okay?" Gideon asks, halfway through a file.
"It's fine. I just don't think we should be reading a card that was meant for someone else."
JJ tenderly presses the roses back into their original position, and the way that she's being so careful with them is somehow the thing that breaks you.
A couple of sobs tear their way from you before you can make it out of the bullpen, and it's Reid who finds you in one of the interrogation suites, fighting for air. You're crying like your heart is broken, and you just hope to god he can't tell.
"I'm just," You take a deep breath. "I'm just on my period. And I think it's so sad that the person they're meant for won't get them."
Reid is so taken aback that he just clears his throat and nods. When you make your way back to your desk, you can tell that everyone is watching, like you're an animal who's been hit by a car but is still trying to cross the road. The roses are in a vase on JJ's desk, and there's Midol and chocolate on yours.
"Reid told us you were-" Elle says, and you can tell from her tone that she'll never forgive you. She nods at the painkillers. "Hotch got them for you."
Hot embarrassment burns in your veins, and you don't know how you'll ever be able to show your face here again.
Later, Elle corners you in the bathroom, her back against the door so no-one else can come in.
"This," She gestures between you and her. "-is over. That was insane."
"Elle-"
She turns to leave.
"There was never anything here anyway!" You yell, not caring who hears. "A million times, I asked what I meant to you, and you never told me. You never said 'I love you'. We hide in parked cars in dark alleyways and you're so goddamn embarrassed of me that you never even look at me. Half the time I feel like you wish I was dead. Like I'm this inconvenience that you tolerate. One day you're going to wake up in a loveless marriage with some guy who thinks you're the love of his life, and he's going to buy you roses and you're going to swallow it all down and smile and pretend you're happy and you won't be! You'll be fucking miserable because you can't accept that you and I are the same," You're breathless as you finish, and your shoulders are heaving. "You can't accept that you love women like you think you should love men. And God, if you lose me, that's fine, because I know you don't give a damn, but fuck, I don't want to watch my best friend lose the rest of her life because she can't look in the mirror and call things what they are."
She's silent, the door slightly ajar. You'd been watching her face so intently that you hadn't noticed that she'd opened it.
You close your eyes, take a breath, and push past her, slipping through the door. You know she won't chase you. You've run a million times and she never has. A thousand ultimatums never changed anything.
Hotch is right outside, staring, his mouth agape.
You throw your gun and badge at his feet, and leave without a second glance. He's calling your name, but you don't hear Elle's under his baritone, so you don't care.
There's a sick feeling of relief, of freedom, as you unlock your car door and drive home, knowing all of the things that had been certain this morning are in the past now, knowing that all of a sudden, none of your tomorrows will look like today or the day before. The BAU is in your rearview mirror, and you know it'll stay there. You know that as soon as you make it home, it'll all come crashing down, all of the grief, all of the ending-feelings landing at once, all of the last two years imploding. You'll never wake up next to her again. All of the almosts, all of the 'maybe she'll change', the uncertainty finally answered. And it's not the answer you wanted, but at least it's an answer. But for now, you're driving with the windows down, and with every breath you take, you remember what you deserve. You remember that it looks nothing like Elle.

The Daughter's Return Part 3
Chapter 9: And Promises Kept
Start From Beginning | Next Chapter | Table of Contents | Read on AO3
Short lil chapter full of angst <3 Characters: female reader x Portgas D. Ace Word Count: 1.4k
You rose with the sun, rubbing the sand out of your eyes as you looked around. “Ace?”
Sanji sat on duty by the campfire, cooking breakfast. You walked over to him, looking at each sleeping body as you passed by.
“Where’s Ace?” you asked. Panic began to creep in, but he must’ve just stepped away to use the bathroom. Ace said he wouldn’t leave you. He promised.
Sanji looked up at you, confused. “I haven’t seen him this morning.”
Your eyes grew wide, and you could feel your heart beginning to race. “What do you mean?”
“Oi, Luffy!” he yelled out. “Where’s Ace?”
“Luffy,” you said, bending down and shaking the sleeping boy. “Luffy! Wake up! Where’s Ace?”
You ended up waking everyone in the camp except Luffy. They sat up one by one, watching you scream and shake their captain as panic coursed through your veins. Ace should be here. Even if he had stepped away for a moment, he would’ve told someone. He would’ve come back by now.
“Luffy!” You screamed again. “Where is he?!”
“You have to talk about food,” Usopp offered. “Watch. Luffy! I have some meat I’m about to throw away!”
Luffy’s eyes flew open and he sat up, eagerly looking around. “Meat?! Where?!”
You grabbed his shoulders, shaking him. “Luffy!” you screamed. “Ace! Where’s Ace!?”
“Huh?” Luffy looked around “But the meat…”
Your grip tightened on him, enraged that he wasn’t answering your one question.
“He left,” Nami finally answered for him.
You paused at her answer, and it took a moment to process her words.
He…left?
With a dark realization, you loosened your grip from Luffy. Your body went slack, and you felt an overwhelming urge to never move again.
“Last night,” Nami said. “He said that you knew he was leaving.”
“Where’d he go?” you whispered, fear pulsing through you. You already knew where he was going.
“He said he was going to get the Striker.” Nami’s voice was somber. You could tell she didn’t believe his words. “And he was going to meet you in Nanohana.”
“No,” you whispered, your eyes filling with tears. “This can’t be happening. He promised.”
“Oh!” Luffy pulled out a transponder snail. It was the kind that was one way, direct line only. You’d only be able to call the person on the other end of this snail. Nobody else.
Luffy held it out for you. “Ace wanted me to give you this.”
You snatched it from his hands, immediately ringing the other side. It only rang once before a voice filled the line.
“Hey.” Ace’s voice was on the other side. It sounded like he hadn’t slept.
“Ace,” you said, taking a breath and trying not to jump to conclusions. “Where are you?”
“On my way to the Island of Geno.”
Tears pricked at your eyes. “Why?”
“It’ll be okay,” Ace said, and you could hear his voice break. “Stick with Luffy and-”
“You promised!” you screamed. You didn’t care that the Strawhats were watching you, judging how you reacted. “You promised you wouldn’t leave again!”
He didn’t answer for a few moments, and you were afraid he had hung up. But finally he spoke.
“I needed to break that promise to keep another one.” His voice was thick, and you knew he was close to tears. “I’m sorry.”
“Who is more important?” you sobbed, falling to your knees. “Who’s more important than me?”
“I promised your father I’d keep you safe. And I need you safe so I can do my job.”
“That’s not fair,” you choked out. “You don’t get to-”
“Yes I do,” he argued. “I’m your commander.”
“What happened to being equals?” Rage and sorrow filled your bones, mixing and grinding together as it churned inside you. “You said-”
“That was before we found out.”
You were lucky to be wearing your bracelet, or else you would be erupting into flames from the overload of emotions. “So now I’m worth less than I was?!”
“No!” Ace yelled back. “That’s not what I’m saying at all!” He took a breath, and then continued. “I just realized I need to protect you and our future. Just stay with Luffy until-”
You scoffed. “I don’t need protecting. Come get me, Ace.”
“I’m not coming back. I’m sorry.” Ace’s voice was final. He wouldn’t change his mind. Not now, not ever. But you had to try.
“Ace,” you said, tears streaming down your face. “If you leave me here alone, I’ll never forgive you.”
“I have to do this. I’m sorry. I love you.”
“Ace, please-!” The phone line cut out, and the transponder snail began speaking its pre-recorded message.
“We’re sorry, the line has been disconnected. Please move closer to reconnect the snails and begin the call again.”
You screamed out in frustration and threw the snail in the sand. You sat and stared at the snail, slowly inching away from you. Just like Ace had. Your entire life felt pointless and too overwhelming to continue on. So you chose to shut down instead.
You couldn’t believe this was happening. Ace had promised to never leave you. And you had trusted him, just for him to take advantage of it.
He was gone, and he wouldn’t be able to defeat Teach without you. He would lose that battle. He always rushed into things too quickly; made decisions without thinking of all the repercussions. And now he was gone.
And you got the sinking feeling you may never speak to him again.

Secret Love Song | Sung Hanbin
Tumblr media
And nobody knows I'm in love with someone's baby I don't wanna hide us away Tell the world about the love we making I'm living for that day, someday
summary: afraid of having attention on herself from dating the school's most beloved, y/n y/l/n hides her relationship with sung hanbin. pressured to keep this act up, she begins to reap the consequences of doing so.
pairing: sung hanbin x fem! reader
word count: 12k
playlist: secret love song - little mix, cornelia street - taylor swift, shadow - seventeen
warnings: jealousy, suggestive, both of their thinking gets a bit toxic imo, lots of miscommunication, y/n has trust issues, hanbin is a little insecure, anxiety, profanity (lmk if i missed any!)
The cafeteria was busy with everyone rushing to get a meal in the small period between classes. Friends talk about the outrageous amount of homework that teachers assigned or the crazy things that they were taught because they forget that the people they are teaching are just young high school students. Failed whispers gossiping about what happened over the weekend.
A topic being on the school's basketball team's pointing guard, Sung Hanbin, being tied down to cheer captain, Yoo Jimin. Witnesses talking about how they caught them underneath the bleachers outside near the football field during the halftime of last week's game. His lips on hers and their hands where they shouldn't be in public.
This could be rumors. This could be the truth. It's up to the recipient if they choose to believe it or not.
Y/N knew it wasn’t true because they have been dating for about 6 months now.
"Honestly they're pretty cute. It's nothing surprising if they are a thing." Zhanghao's voice muffled behind the straw as he took a sip out of his drink.
"Dude." Yunjin whacked the male on the arm. She quickly reassured Y/N," Don't listen to him. Everyone knows that they're just close friends."
"You're acting like Y/N is going to do anything about her crush. Don't give her that toxic positivity."
With a roll of her eyes, Y/N scoffed out," Thanks for believing in me, Hao. I appreciate the hope you have for me."
"I'm just stating the facts. You've liked him for how long? And I have not seen you guys talk at all."
"Yeah, they have!" Yunjin tried to recollect exactly when but blanked out.
"Like once? When he asked for the answers to the science homework? I’m sorry. He and his whole posse are totally out of our leagues."
"I hope you fail tryouts tonight."
"Yunjin." Y/N sighed," Too far."
"He's pissing me off."
Zhangho mocked Yunjin, flicking her off in the process. In response, the girl whacked him on his head. While her best friends bickered, she couldn't help looking over at the table in the middle of the room. Zhanghao was right. Despite them already dating, she still struggled to believe that she was. And the way that Zhanghao talked about it like it would be something atrocious, this is why she preferred to keep their relationship under wraps and away from the public’s eye. If her own best friend couldn’t see them together, how could anybody else? And she knew the comments from people who didn’t know her would be more harsh.
Y/N eyed how Jimin was sitting so close to him. With every movement, their arms and shoulders would touch.
Jimin rose her arm to hang off his shoulder, leaning into his ear to whisper into his ear that made his lips raise into a smile. Just as Hanbin was about to reply to whatever the girl had to say, another body came into her view and blocked away the school's new "couple". Letting out a breath that she didn't know she was holding, she looked up to find Matthew. He was a year younger, a grade below, but she had American literature with him. They didn't really talk much except when they would get paired during class but then again, Y/N didn't really talk to people outside of her circle.
"H-Hey, Y/N."
"Hi."
Matthew gleamed at the simple response, his fingers playing with the strap of his backpack. As he remained silent, she looked around the table before looking back up at him," Is there something you need?" "Oh… uhm…" he stumbled to take his bag. Placing it roughly on the table that had the three of them grasping at their trays so that their food didn't jump too far out of their plates. Digging deep into the trenches of his bag, he spared each of them a bright smile before pulling out a crumpled-up flower. A single white rose and he shyly began to hand it to Y/N.
More like shoved it into her hands.
"I was wondering… if you would like to go to the winter formal with me. I mean I know that you don't know me too well and I don't know you too well but I've always thought you were pretty. And maybe we could get to know each other through this. So be my date?" In the corner of her eyes, she saw his friends huddled at the door. One of them filming the whole interaction.
“Matthew, I’m sorry.", His face fell in disappointment. Y/N quickly shook her head, attempting to stop him from crying but she could see the tears already beginning to fall," It's just I wasn't planning to go is all! I'll have to figure it out with my parents and I don't have money to go. I’ll get back to you, yeah?"
Blinking away the rest of his tears, he let out a sigh of relief, "Oh. Okay. Well, I'll see you later."
Before Y/N could even say anything, he scurried away. Pushing past his group of friends that ran after him, slapping him on his shoulder and back as they made a commotion.
"That wasn't easy to watch," Yunjin spoke through clenched teeth. Zhanghao picked up the rose from Y/N's lap who was still staring at the empty door in complete guilt.
"Well… this is how you can tell someone likes you." He rose it in the air as if he were examining an exotic flora. "So start living in reality. The both of you. Because Sung Hanbin has never spared more than a glance at Y/N in the past four years”
Funny enough, Hanbin himself had not been able to take his eyes off the girl for more than a minute since the second she walked in. _ Right foot. Left foot. Deep breath in. Deep breath out.
She couldn’t take it anymore.
Y/N let out a dry heave, crouching over her knees. Having physical education right after lunch was pure evil. She could feel today’s lunch. Maybe chugging the banana milk before coming out was a bad idea too. It was beneficial for the people in sports that had to leave early to compete at other schools but she wasn’t a part of any sports so they could’ve put her during any other part of the day. Her body was pulled forward by Yunjin who kept her speed at a slow jog. Huffing through each breath,” The faster we get this done, the more we can hide from Coach Kim.”.
“Left!.” A crowd of male voices exclaimed, running past her in a speed that mocked her. Damn basketball team. Their heights offended her too. The grimace on her face stayed until that familiar flop of hair running in the back appeared. Of course, Sung Hanbin being the captain of the basketball team had to lead an example to other players and make sure all his teammates were accounted for. So despite possibly being the fastest, he stayed towards the end to make sure that the players who weren’t able to keep up and no one was left behind.
Suddenly, Hanbin turned around and began to run backward. Raising an eyebrow in question, Y/N continued to jog. He looked around the area, especially on Yunjin who was still beside her before his eye fell down into a wink at her before turning back around and catching up with the rest of his team.
All prior complaints dissipated into the air. She struggled to hide her blush from his flirtatious attempts but that failed when Yunjin stopped them and held her cheeks together. Worried that she was going to faint from the way her cheeks were turning so red.
After everyone had finished the two laps, Coach Kim lined everyone up along the white lines. “Alright, before I send off half of you, we’re going to play a little game of dodgeball.”
Coach Kim earned boos from the tough crowd but he waved them off and began to read down his roster.
“Coach, why don’t we play it a little differently? Couple dodgeball? Girl as striker and boy as the defender?”
“That’s so boring too! You all take too long to get each other out!” A girl shouted from the other side of the line.
“How about we change that up too and have the boy as the striker and the girl as the defender?” A girl with pig tails asked.
Coach Kim obviously thought that was a good idea since he didn't wait for a vote from the class as he immediately divided the class up in half using the method of giving a person a number between 1 and 2.
Y/N looked around at everyone frantically picking their partners. During this game, she always partnered with Yunjin. They always purposely got out so that they could run off and hide somewhere away from everyone’s view to watch episodes of this anime named Bluelock. But now that Yunjin was split apart from her and on the other team, she didn’t know who to choose as her partner and if anybody even wanted to be her partner.
“1?” A familiar voice came out from the chaos of the crowd, their hand reaching to grab her wrist. Hanbin smirked down at Y/N’s look of surprise, her eyebrows raised and lips ajar. His hand slowly trailed down to interlock their fingers together.
Oh he’s getting quite brave. The fight to hide her blush failed once again. But reality hit when she heard other people in their team complaining about how they wanted to be Hanbin’s partner. The ones reminding her why they were in this position in the first place as they questioned who she was and how in any way she was special enough to have Hanbin choose her so quickly. She began to try to pry her fingers out of his,” Hanbin, we can’t.”
“What? Be partners? I don’t see why now.”
” Yeah but partners don’t hold hands like we are.”
Almost like he wasn’t paying attention to a single thing he was saying, Hanbin used his thumb to rub out the crease between her eyebrow created by the pout on her face. Y/N turned her head from side to side to shake his hand off, “Hanbin!” She whisper screamed.
“I don’t know who that is. I only go by one name.”
“Whatever.”
“Whose Hanbin?”
“Shut up, dude.”
“Dude? Hanbin? What are these names?”
Binnie was just on the tip of her tongue but the sound of the whistle brought everyone’s attention to the middle. Using this distraction, she snuck her hand from Hanbin's grasp before any more questioning glances made their way.
All while Coach Kim was trying to give instructions on how to play the game, she could feel his hand linger near hers. The feeling of his fingertips on her palms, close to interlocking their fingers but never doing it. She loved him. Loved how he respected her space and despite pestering her so much about it, listened and didn’t continue actions that made her uncomfortable.
She ached to hold his hand in public.
Wished she didn’t care too much about the retributions.
The whistle rang through the air again to commence the beginning of the game. Everybody rushing into their sports and grabbing a ball from the middle of the court.
Y/N knew it wasn’t going to be normal. She also knew that they were going to be one of the first ones to get out.
Normal partners, they held onto their partners by their shirts or by holding them on their shoulders.
But Hanbin’s arms were around Y/N’s waist, holding her tightly to his chest. It was honestly a little hard to maneuver around with the limitations of space.
The sound of the ball rushing through the air buzzed in Y/N's ear as she flinched away to avoid getting hit all while pushing Hanbin behind her who felt like a 3 potato sacks that she was dragging. The boy was much too happy while playing a game of dodgeball, his grip only tightening as he tucked his chin into her neck.
"Binnie, you're going to have to move if you want there to any chance of us winning."
Longing the vowels in each word, he whispered into her ear," I don't caree~".
To everyone’s surprise except hers, they were the second pair to get out. Gasps of how Hanbin usually lasts until the end. Walking off to the side, they stood and watched the remaining teams. After few minutes and nobody else getting out after them, Hanbin leaned down to whisper in her ear,” Do you want to get out of here?"
She rose her eyebrow," And how would we do that?"
Hanbin looked over at the game and examined the game. More like he was checking to see how Yunjin and her partner was doing. The duo were pretty still very much into the game and it seemed like they weren't going to get out anytime soon. Y/N watched as his arm shot up to garner Coach Kim's attention who stared over at them in question.
"Do you need more balls from the storage, sir? Y/N and I would have no problem grabbing some."
Coach Kim eyed the balls that went off the distance. He shrugged and nodded, honestly not really caring.
Hanbin wasted no time and walked in front to guide them toward the storage. His long legs allowed for their trip to be shorter and faster despite Y/N’s little complaints from her struggling to catch up, practically jogging. He kicked away the rock that held the door open in a comical way that almost fostered a giggle out of her. With a gentle smile on his face, he held the door open with his one hand. Y/N shook her head at his antics, rushing to get inside so he wouldn't have to hold it any longer for her.
Once the both of them were inside, the door was shut between them. Only the light from the windows shining in for them. Luckily the balls were in an easy find because they were in a visible place. Y/N being the one who found it decided to grab it especially since Hanbin was doing who knows what behind her with the jump ropes.
The only con is that it was a high place tucked besides two boxes.
But it was doable. Getting up onto her tippy toes, she reached up. Stretching out her body to grow tall to grab it but to her avail, it failed. So she tried again, jumping with more force each time. It took the fifth try for the bag to finally budge, it slowly sliding down. What she didn't know was that as she moved the bag, it was moving the box to the right forward.
"Cmon." She muttered underneath her breath, grabbing a handful of the net to pull it forward.
In the corner of her eye, she saw the box tipping forward. Quickly, she reached her other arm out to catch it but a body came up behind her to help catch it as well.
Once she turned her head, Y/N's mind was going haywire. She could not focus with how close he stood to her. You'd think she would be used to it by now. But each time, she got a close glimpse of his face. Starstruck is what could be used to describe; her heartbeat pounding in her ears and her breath picking up a pace. Looking over the details of his face from the curvature of his nose to his soft lips, she couldn't look away.
"You know… usually, people say thank you for their life rather than just checking them out."
Her face scrunched up in disgust," I was not checking you out!"
Hanbin ruffled her hair with one hand and pushed the box back into place. He then helped Y/N pull down the rest of the bag. Y/N pulled the bag up to her chest to distribute the weight better. She tried to back up of the little corner she was in but Hanbin's body blocked her from doing so.
"What are you doing?"
Hanbin quickly motioned to her to be quiet with a finger to his lips before cupping a hand behind his ear. Y/N turned around so she was now facing him with an raised eyebrow.
"Doesn't sound like anybody got out."
A smirk grew on his face, her cheek crinkling up to look like cat whiskers. Like muscle memory, her thumb ran over the lines of one of his most beloved features.
"If you keep looking at me like that, I might just kiss you."
Y/N snapped out of her trance, her hand falling onto his shoulder and resting there. She leaned forward so that her face was under his. She tilted her head up, looking him straight the eyes. "Would you?" A loud shriek escaped from her mouth as her feet were suddenly off the floor and she was placed on a tower of mats. His arms caging her between them, slitting himself between her legs. He leaned in so close that the tips of their noses brushed against hers, his lips barely hovering over hers.
Like a game, she leaned back against the wall to run from him. His lips chasing hers, desperate for even the slightly touch. A small peck given by her. Hanbin groaned in annoyance.
He moved one hand to rest against her bare thigh while the other wrapped around her waist to pull her closer to him.
Like magnets, they stuck to one another. The space between them now closed as their bodies mushed together like a perfect puzzle piece.
The white noise of the fan mixing together with the sound of their heavy breathing. Y/N could feel the butterflies going crazy in her stomach when his hand that was previously on her waist slip underneath her school t-shirt.
The way his hands slowly moved and brushed against her a sensitive spot that evoked a giggle. Hanbin couldn't help the smile at the sound. "Come on, babe. I'm losing it here."
"I don't know. It doesn't feel right snogging another women's man."
With his forehead against hers, Hanbin frowned in confusion, " What do you mean?"
"Last I heard, you were dating Jimin."
"Jimin, huh?" Hanbin dramatically leaned away from Y/N, his arm still secured around her waist. He let out a deep sigh," You're right. I shouldn't be having such thoughts about another man's woman."
This time, Y/N rose her eyebrow up in confusion.
"With that junior."
"Oh, Matthew?" "What was going on there anyways?"
"He asked me to the formal."
"Oh is that right?" Hanbin wiggled his eyebrows," How cute is that?"
"Shut up." She pushed at his shoulder that didn't budge at the movement.
"Did he give you flowers?" A peck on her forehead," Balloons?" A peck on her cheek, " What color are you two wearing?," A kiss on her lips.
"You're soooo annoying. I said no to him."
He tucked a strand hair behind her ear, " Good. Because you're mine."
"Yours? I'd be surprised. Everyone is saying you're Jimin's."
"Would I be in your arms if I was hers? I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than here." He ran his thumb over cheek," I'd go anywhere to be with you." Pulling her back in for a tight hug as he wrapped around of his arms around her waist.
Y/N couldn't help the way her cheeks burned. To hide her reaction, she tucked her face between the crack of his neck and returned the hug back to him.
The moment was interuppted by a rapid knock at the door that had her immediately push Hanbin off of her. His hand quickly grabbed onto hers when he stumbled back against the cushions behind him. Yunjin's voice could be heard outside of the room, asking Y/N if she was in there.
"Crap." Y/N started to push her hair back into place, adjusting her clothes back into place. "Dude, hide."
"What, why?" He whispered in a hush tone.
"Don't you think she'll find it odd if we're just chilling in here together?"
"And what's wrong with that?". It was as if he couldn't see the seriousness of the situation. A boy and a girl in a room alone was strange and questionable in so many ways. Especially with how he was leaning his body into hers again, squeezing her hand, "I think it's about time she found out."
"Binnie, just-" The door opened before she could finish her sentence, the doors were open and Yunjin was in the room with them. Luckily she was looking around the room first since they were tucked away in the corner. That quick second allowed Y/N to realize that their hands were still interlocked together and yanked her hand out of his grip. She had unintentionally done it so fast and rough, failing to see how Hanbin's eyebrow began to furrow.
"Yunjin~" She called out to the lost girl, grabbing the bag of extra balls beside her. Yunjin's head quickly snapped over in their direction, her eyes immediately looking Y/N in hers and widening at the sight and thought of the two being alone in a room together.
Y/N rose her hand up to show the bag of balls in her hands, " You came just in time. Can't find anything in this junk yard."
"Right…" Yunjin only moved only because Y/N dragged her out of the small, congested room. She frantically waved goodbye to Hanbin whose gaze were directed to the floor. Yunjin herself wasn't able to figure what emotion he was showing but couldn't help but see that he resembled a kicked puppy on the side of the road.
Finally breathing in some fresh air of outside, Y/N threw the bag over her shoulder and began walking back to the game that wasn't even halfway done yet.
Behind her, she could Yunjin jogging to catch up to her. Whispering yelling underneath the breath that she couldn't wait to tell Zhanghao about how Y/N got to spend time with her "crush". _ Yunjin has been Y/N's best friend since kindergarten. There is no Y/N without Yunjin and there is no Yunjin without Y/N.
So maybe it wouldn't hurt for Y/N to tell about Yunjin about the fact that she isn't single and has a boyfriend that she's been with for six months now. Also that the boyfriend is Sung Hanbin who she has been gushing over and slightly obsessed with since middle school. Yunjin rambled on and on that she was happy that Y/N was able to interact with Hanbin especially after all these years and that she totally thinks that Hanbin is into her despite the fact that in the two minutes that Yunjin saw them together, Y/N tried her best to not look over at him in fear that she would reveal things just by the way that she looked at him.
Maybe it wouldn't be too bad if they went public.
Jimin and Hanbin's friendship never bothered her especially since she knows Jimin views as a brother. But maybe going public would also put a halt to all the rumors about Jimin and him that irked every time she thought about it.
Y/N pulled her shirt over her head to put on her button up instead. Currently she was in one of the empty shower stalls. While she's known most of the people out there for long as she has been attending public school, she preferred to have privacy while changing.
While clasping the buttons together, she got a big whiff of cigarette smoke.
The shower stalls had a vent that was just placed perfectly on a wall that has an alley on the other side where all students that smoke hid to have their daily dose of those nicotine sticks.
She opted to ignore it as it was none of her business and all she had left to do was to tuck her shirt into her skirt. As she pushed the bunched cloth into the hem, her movements halted when she heard the mumble of her name.
"Yeah, she was with him most of the time."
"Damn that sucks! Weren't you trying to be his partner in the game? Isn't that why you brought it up to Coach Kim?"
Y/N inched closer to the wall, keeping up onto her tippy toes as the vent was so far high up on the wall.
"And he partnered up with Y/N instead?"
The girl let out a long and heavy sigh, seemingly taking a drag of her cigarette before continuing her rant," Partner up? More like she leeched herself onto him. So annoying. Then they were the first to get out."
"Oh my gosh. Hanbin must've been so annoyed. He's literally the best at any sports he plays."
"Right? Then they disappeared off and I never got to talk to him because by the time I found him, he was already with his friends."
"What? Didn't you get out right after Hanbin and Y/N?" The other girl let out an horrendous cackle," And way to make it so obvious. I'm so surprised that Coach didn't say shit about that. "
"That old man is tired. I was doing him a favor by making the game shorter. But anyways, I couldn't find him. Gosh it was so annoying."
"Oh well. The time will come."
"I could've gotten it over with if Y/N wasn't in the way."
"Hey… at least you know she isn't any competition."
"Right? In no way would Hanbin ever go for someone like Y/N."
"You're like 10 times prettier than she is, hands down."
"Girl, I already know that. Like literally he is way too good for her and if she confessed like anyone else would, let's just pray for her because that wouldn't end well."
Having enough of this conversation, Y/N threw on the rest of her outfit and snatched her backpack out of the ground. Pushing past half of the girls, she rubbed at the tears that were fighting to come out. She couldn't believe she was crying because of a gossip. She couldn't believe she was running away from Yunjin who would be the one to comfort in times like this.
She couldn't believe she was dumb enough to even think that the world would accept them. _
A kiss on her neck distracted her from the spam of messages coming from Yunjin about how Matthew asked about her after school. The culprit’s hand pulled the cellular device away from her and placed it on the night stand. Hanbin’s warm hand coming back down to run over the exposed skin of her midriff. A giggle escaped from her lips as he began to lay multiple pecks running down to her collar bone.
Pushing him off slightly, “What are you doing?”
“Trying to get your attention.” He pouted,” I’m so tired and all I want to do is cuddle with the hottest girl in school.”
“Hottest girl?”
He hushed her, bringing up his index finger to her lips.
“But she’s too busy talking to her friends that she spends 24/7 with.” He dramatically sighed, allowing his body to fall on top of hers. Tucking his face into the crook of her neck.
“Oh shut up. I know you chose me as your partner on purpose during that game. I don’t want to place blame on anybody but if you weren’t too hyperfocused on hugging me the whole time, we could’ve won.” No snarky response was heard. Instead, she could feel him breathing in her scent that had her scrunching her neck in response.
“Dude, I probably smell like sweat.”
“No, you smell so good.” His voice muffled,” Like cheese.”
Pushing him off again, she mumbled underneath her breath,” Idiot.”
“I wanted to get out first so I could spend time with you. Don’t act like I don’t know yours and Yunjin’s secrets. But she just had to get out so soon.”
“Well you have me all to yourself now.” Y/N pushed back his hair out of his face. Like a puppy, Hanbin gleamed at the gesture and words that came out her mouth.
"By the way, what's your favorite number?"
"_" She raised her eyebrow up," Why?"
"No reason."
"You sound very guilty right now."
He pulled his phone out and began typing hurriedly on his phone. Y/N propped herself up into a 45 degree angle, trying to get a peek of his screen but Hanbin quickly hid the screen with a devilish smile.
"Heyy…" She began poking his shoulder, hoping to annoy him enough to get him to give in. But instead, Hanbin took the opportunity to roll over and lay his head on her stomach. He grabbed her hand that was poking at his shoulder and began to nibble at her finger.
“Stoooop, you little vampire.”
Hanbin placed her hand onto his chest, bringing his phone up high enough so the both of them could look at his screen.
"You're going to put that number on your jersey?"
"Yeah, I want to show that I'm yours somehow."
"That's pretty smart."
"Told you I was."
"Mhm and that's why this was suppose to be tutoring session for your D on your latest Stats test." Hanbin shushed her before pulling up his Instagram and successfully distracting them again from changing their cuddle session to what it was suppose to be before which was a study session.Occasionally they would laugh at the reels that would pop up but his feed was full of a lot of people she didn’t really know or talk to. So Y/N resorted to playing with the strings of his hoodie. Suddenly the loud commotion of earlier today caught her attention. Looking up, she saw an angle of Matthew’s proposal. Someone had sent a video to the school’s instagram account to post for the Assuming where the camera was, it was his friend that was recording earlier today.
She could feel herself physically cringe at watching it all go down again. Expecting Hanbin to laugh about it, she quickly covered his mouth to intercept any sort of teasing that may come to his head. But instead his face remained stoic and he sat up, her hand falling down to her side. He was hunched over as he rewatched the video again.
To get jealous was rare for Hanbin. In the time frame of their whole relationship, which isn’t long but isn’t too short, Hanbin has never showed any signs of jealousy except for one incident before they started dating. He was pretty confident in himself and the two of them always reassured one another that they were the only ones that had each other’s eyes.
“Wait, what’s wrong?”
“You didn’t say no.”
She sat up fully as well, scooching closer to the end of the bed where he sat. “Well, I’m planning to.”
“Why didn’t you say no right then and there? You told me that you did.”
“I just didn’t want to embarrass him in front of his friends.”
“It seems like you’re going to say yes to the guy.” He pointed at his phone.
“But I’m not. I’m planning to say no.”
“He doesn’t seem to think so.”
“I’m going to tell him no!” And while they were on this subject, she couldn’t help but bring up something that’s been bothering her as well,” Why aren’t you denying the rumors about Jimin?”
“What rumors?”
“There’s rumors that the two of you were behind the bleachers and that the two of you are together.”
“Well first of all, the girl I was behind the bleachers with was you. And those rumors have been around since the minute people realized that we’re friends and hang out in the same friend group. It’d be weird if I deny them now if I never acknowledged them before. Besides, those rumors have never bothered you until now. Why are they bothering you now?”
“Then why are you so bothered that I’m planning to say no later? You know I wouldn’t go to the dance with somebody else.”
“I asked you last week and you straight up told me no. He asks you and he gets a, “I’ll have to see. ”
Y/N ran her hand through her hair in frustration. “You know why I said no to you.”
Hanbin returned his gaze back to the dark screen of his phone,” Yeah… yeah… I know. Everyone is going to have something to say about you and me and it’s just too much attention.”
“If I told Matthew no right away, I wouldn’t hear the end of it, especially since he did it in front of so many people.”
The two in silence. Both coming to their conclusion. Y/N came to the conclusion that the both of them were in the wrong and getting a little too jealous. But it didn’t feel like everything was said as Hanbin stayed perched at the end of his bed, his phone back on and scrolling through the comments underneath the video. She reached out an arm out to him but he abruptly stood up. He was quick to grab his duffle bag which was tucked away beside her closet.
“I’ve got tryouts.”
“Binnie…” Getting up onto her knees and was about to get up off the bed to walk over to him but he stopped her ,” Cmon..”
Using his hand on her shoulder to guide her back down into her bed, Hanbin leaned a placed a kiss on her forehead, “I'm sorry." He brought his hand up to cut her cheek, running his thumb along her cheek," I overreacted. I'll see you later?" Even though he looked her in the eyes and said that. She struggled to believe him. Reluctantly, she nodded her head slowly. Before she could even utter another word, he was out of the door and down the stairs.

Despite facetiming later that night, Y/N still felt there was something on Hanbin’s mind. Like he still had something to say. That morning too, she didn’t receive a message from him telling her to have a good morning.
Not that she wanted him to always send it but it was so out of character for him not to.
So she couldn’t help the pain in her chest when he walked past with her friends like she didn’t exist.  But this was something that was a regular occurrence. She was the one who told him to do that. So why did she want him to look at her?
A tap of her shoulder shook her out of her shoulder. Turning again, she found Matthew with another flower in his hand. He motioned for Y/N to take it. The girl slowly took it from his hand. Honestly, she was trying to avoid him until after the dance so that the whole proposal would be useless and forgotten but she already knew that was impossible.
“So?”
“Matthew… I’m sorry. I can’t go.”
“Didn’t you say it was about money? I could pay for your ticket!”
For some reason, even though Matthew was in front of her, she couldn’t help but look over at Hanbin who was leaning up against a locker, talking animatedly to his teammates every so often.
“No… No.. it’s something else. I just can’t go with you.”
“Do you mind me asking why? I mean I know we don’t know each other all that well so I think that this would be a great time for us to get to know each other.”
“You’re quite persistent, you know?”
“I’m just curious, that’s all.”
“Okay, Matthew, it’s not something else. It’s someone else.” Feeling apologetic, she held his hands in hers ,”It doesn’t feel right for me to go to the dance with someone when I’m completely and utterly in love with someone else.”
“Is it Hanbin?”
She looked back at him in shock, “Woah, how’d you figure that out so quickly?”
“I mean, minus the fact that you won’t stop looking over at him, I think the bruise on my leg is clear evidence. He was super nice when everyone first got there and he was even giving me tips but then I mentioned my proposal to other players to make myself look cooler because they were all calling me kid because how short I am and he started getting rough.”
She knew it. She knew he was still bothered about the proposal.
“You used me to make yourself look better?”
“ I’m sorry for that. I honestly deserved getting roughed up.”
“Yeah and for also thinking that I could up your game in any way.” Y/N laughed at the thought but Matthew looking at her with an incredulous look as if she were insane halted her from continuing on.
“What do you mean? You’re one of the coolest and sweetest girls I’ve ever met. Anybody that could have you would be lucky to have you.” He shrugged as if it were the most obvious thing. “ I just don’t understand why I never see you two together.”
“Well he’s him. And I’m me. People would just look at us weird and question how someone like me could be with someone like him. Like he could do better, you know?” She didn’t know why she was spilling her feelings out to someone she barely knew. But it felt so good to say it aloud.
“Who cares about what everyone else says?”
“Me. Because I will have to hear the disapproval from everyone and how strange it is that we’re even together.”
“What matters is that the two of you like each other and that’s all that matters. Anybody else that cares and has something to say needs to get a life. And to stop watching so many movies because this is real life and those “status quos” don’t exist.”
The first bell rang signaling that their first class was about to start in 5 minutes and they needed to go now. Matthew leaned in and kissed Y/N on her cheek before she could deny it. “I truly wish you will take in what I say. Don’t hide your relationships for the sake of people you shouldn’t care about.”
The younger boy walked away before she could even say anything, leaving her dumbstruck.
Someone colliding into her shoulder snapped her out of her thoughts.
Matthew's word ran over and over again in her head like a broken record. The way he tells her like it's so easy to do so.
Maybe it is if she learned to not care so much.
The second bell warning pulled her out of her mind. The teacher from her calculus was beginning to notice that she was starting to come late to class a lot more than she should be. She bound to pull her aside to talk about it soon. Pivoting around, she rushed up the stairs to her first class.
Hanbin stood by himself at his locker now. His hands tucked into his jeans as he watched Matthew walk away. His jaw clenched tight as the loud slam of his locker echoed through the empty hall.
Apologies spilled from her mouth every millisecond as she hovered through the crowd to get to the entrance of the tunnel where the basketball team gathered.
The pep rally was about to begin in 10 minutes and she managed to escape from Yunjin and Zhanghao to be able to talk to Hanbin. To talk about their argument last night and their relationship. Because Matthew was right. Why do other people’s opinions matter? But there was still that fear and that voice in her head that told her that wasn’t a good idea.
Finally reaching an area that had some elbow room, she maneuvered past the associated student body to where a large group of boys in the school’s basketball uniform circled around who knows what. Not seeing the face she wanted to, she decided to see if he was more towards the front.
“Excuse me.” She squished past the sweaty boys and landed at the front where she found the cheerleaders putting face paint on students and athletes. The boy she was looking for had his legs spread out so he could be the same height as the girl in front of him. The girl dangerously close as she held onto his shoulder, her head leaned in to ensure that the lines she was painting on his face were perfect.
When she leaned back to laugh at something Hanbin said, Y/N realized then and there that it was Jimin.
She had to think about what she was going to do next. If she was going to do something that she regretted because of that green feeling that was currently bubbling in her chest. First, she knew that Jimin was a sweet girl that would never take another person’s boyfriend and she never cared about her friendship with Hanbin because what she had with him was so secure. Second, she wasn’t so sure how secure they were anymore and it wasn’t like Jimin knew that Hanbin was tied down, it seems like all her actions were definitely advances to something more.
So now here Hanbin and her in a janitor’s closet where she pulled him away from a confused Jimin. Y/N muttered something along the lines that she had to talk about something from Chemistry despite that class being one that took two years ago in their sophomore year.  As she walked away, she could hear people asking questions such as, “ who is that?” or “If I was Jimin, I’d be upset if someone was touching my man like that.”
“You expect me to be okay with dating rumors when you’re going around, acting like that?”
"Y/N, she was just putting face paint on me." His eyes remained away from you and on something in the background. Trying to avoid her glare.
“She’s all over you and it annoys the hell out of me. Yeah, I didn’t care before but I care now.” She couldn’t believe the words that were going to come out next,” If you want her, then go ahead and go for it. But you have to let go of me first.” She didn’t mean a single word.
“Did I actually ever have you?”
Y/N stopped her prancing in the small room and turned her body to look at Hanbin who was already looking at her.”What do you mean by that?”
“Sometimes I'm just here for fun. For the pleasure of it all. Our dates consist of hanging out in our houses and occasional dates outside of the city because you are scared to be seen by anybody else. Here, I have to act like you don’t exist and you act like I don’t exist. I want to brag about you to my friends but I can’t. I even have to remind my mom not to say anything about you to them even though she absolutely is in love with you. And I assume you never told yours about me because of how you hid me away from Yunjin. Are you that ashamed to be with me?"
“Binnie-”
“I want to hold your hand when I want to. I want to kiss you when I want to.” And he too could feel that green monster building up again at the memory from earlier today. .
He saw that? Y/N waved her hands and shook her head,”It’s not what it looks. I didn’t know he was going to do that and I wouldn’t have wanted him to do it if I had known. I’ve told you multiple times that Matthew and I have nothing going on.”
“ Then why aren’t you believing me when I say that Jimin and I aren’t as well. You’re asking why I care so much about Matthew? It’s not Matthew that I care about. It’s the fact you have never been so open to talking to me in public  and you didn’t even push him away when he kissed you even if it was a simple one on the cheek. You didn’t say no to his proposal so now I have to hear whispers about things I know that aren’t true. And I get why you did it so people wouldn’t talk but there is inevitability some. Why can’t you let there be whispers about us?”
She  watched as his face scrunched up, his fingers running along his forehead to massage the tension headache forming. “Y/N, I’m just tired. I’m so tired. Of running around. Of acting like I don’t care that we have to hide.” The pain in the chest made it hard for her to breathe as she could feel the three words threatening to come out of his lips.
Wanting to cut him off to tell him that she didn’t hide them anymore, his phone rang frantically. They let it go to voicemail but right after, it rang again.
Though the both of them didn't budge a single movement for what felt like the longest time, his phone went off again after the other one finished. Hanbin pulled the device out of his pocket, letting out a sharp exhale. “I’ll just tell them to go on without me.”
Before he could lift up the screen to see who it was, Y/N shook her head, “ It’s fine, just go.”
“No, I’m not leaving us like this again. It’s just a pep rally. I don’t have to be there.”
“And if you go missing, the whole school will freak out. Personally, I don’t want to be the reason that the school star player is missing.”
“Y/N, this is it. This is what’s wrong. Who cares about what anybody thinks? Do you not have anything to say about this?”
“I’m trying, Hanbin! I’m trying. But everyone you miss a basket or the team is having a off day, I have to listen to the crowd talk and assume things about you guys. And most of them talk about you being distracted and having a girlfriend. I don’t want to be blamed for that and have everyone scrutinize me. It’s also the fact that no one could ever imagine you with me. It’s always Jimin. It’s always who the heck is that? whenever they see me with me.  Shit, even Zhanghao can’t imagine us together.”
“But we are. And people are going to have to accept that.” Hanbin hung his head back. “And I’m trying my best to just do what we’ve been doing. Keep our relationship a secret but I can’t find the strength to go on anymore. Because sometimes I feel like I love you more than you love me. And I honestly don’t know if I can stay any longer, feeling that.”
Her heart thumped at the three words. They haven’t said I love you to one another yet. Always dangerously on the tip of their tongues but never finding the right times to do so.
And this wasn’t the context in which he was hoping he was going to say it.
Her attention shot back into the room when Hanbin’s phone rang again. He cursed under his breath, seeing his Coach’s contact name on the screen this time. “I’ve got to go.”
A silence granted permisssion to end the converstion. Hanbin slowly grabbing his backpack and throwing it over his shoulder. Y/N let out a shaky breath as he began to pass her, their shoulders brushing against each other.
“I love you, Hanbin.”
The sounds of his shoes signaled that he halted in his steps. She could hear him let out a breath of air before starting to speak.
Then the door slammed open. The short, stubby janitor shouting out,” What are you two doing in here?”

(a/n: i meant to put sports, not spots! so sorry for the typo)
After the janitor caught them, his screaming caught the attention of the basketball coach who was searching the hallways from Hanbin. The star basketball player was pulled away from her before he could even reply to her declaration. Though he could see Hanbin struggling to get out of the older man’s grip, looking back at her every so often until they turned the corner to the gym.
It was true she wasn’t feeling all that well. The dizziness from nervousness and the bile rising up her throat, trying to imagine how it would be if they changed the premise of their relationship. Truely, she needed to lay down before she fell to the cold, dirty ground of the hallways.
She hoped that he saw it to be true and not said out of desperation to fix their falling relationship. Checking the clock in the corner of the room, she wished the time would go by faster so they could finish their conversation and she could tell him how much he means to her.
Multiple buzzes from her phone prompted her phone to check whatever her friends had to say now. She could feel her heart drop to her stomach and bile rising up her throat again. This time there was no way to stop it from coming out.
Opening the notification from her friends and repeated tweets from the school's gossip account. The recent headline highlighting Yoo Jimin asks Sung Hanbin to WakeOne's annual winter formal! He says yes! The photos showing different angles of the proposal. A clear look of surprise on Hanbin's face as flowers handed to him from left and right from other cheerleaders. The last photo shocked her gave her a sharp pain in her chest as Chaewon's arms were wrapped Hanbin's neck, his eyes only simply looking down at her face. His hands nowhere near to pushing him off.

Covering her mouth to control her impending sobs, Y/N quickly stood up to run over to the trash can to empty the contents of her stomach. Though Hanbin hadn’t outright said it, she could feel him putting that pause or ending their relationship in the last sentence that he had spoke to her.
He was going to be with someone that treated him right and was perfect for him.
She had her chance and she lost him.
Turning to look at the school’s nurse, she raised the question if she could stay for the rest of the day to avoid and hide her problems outside of this room but she was already scribbling down a note, shaking her head at the disgusting smell.
_
As the last bell rang, Y/N apologized to the nurse who told her that was nothing and to rest as it seemed like she was sick from stress. And the stress was beginning to take a toll on her body.
Y/N could only imagine if the nurse knew what type of stress she was going through. She would shake her head at the teenage girl.
The nurse began prepping the word and just as Y/N was about to sit down to wait, the door bursted open. A disheveled Yunjin appeared. She slapped a hand against her forehead and shook her head,” No fever.” She grabbed Y/N's face by the chin and twisted it around to check if there was anything abnormal but nothing. “Girl, you look and feel fine. So you left me alone to those heathens for nothing?”
"Tell that to the three times I've thrown up in the past hour. Guess I should’ve trusted you and just threw away that 6 dollar boba.”
"I could always buy you a new one. Are you feeling better now?”
“Yeah kinda..”
Yunjin linked arms with hers,” Great, then, let’s go meet up Zhanghao to check if he made the team or not.”
“I’m actually going to head home right now. I’ll catch the two of you tomorrow at the game-”
“Oh my gosh, noo! He’d kill us if we forget the promise we made with him.  We have to be there for him to either congratulate him or console him with a dinner.”
“I know but I still don’t feel all that good.”
Yunjin hummed in response. Although not completely convinced to let Y/N go home. While Y/N waited for the nurse to complete the last of the paperwork, she saw in the corner of her eye a familiar tall figure.
Maybe it was her nerves that prompted her to do so but she grabbed Yunjin who was completely thrown off by the change of energy in the environment. Y/N quickly pulled them both behind a curtain just in time for the door to open again.
"What are you doing-"
Y/N covered the brunette's mouth, peeking through the small slit of the curtain.
Hanbin stood inside of the nurse's office, fiddling with the strap of his backpack. "Hello, by any chance, did a Y/N Y/L/N come by today? I heard some of her friends saying she would be here."
"Oh uhm..." The nurse stumbled over her words. Crossing her fingers behind her back, Y/N hoped that she could read the room and understand what Y/N wanted. "She just left."
"Oh..." Hanbin sighed. "Do you mind if I asking what's wrong with her?"
"Hanbin, you know I can't disclose other student's health with you."
A soft chuckle filled the air and Y/N feel her heart warm at the sound. But it was still heavy with the news she read only two hours before.
"I get that. Can you just let me know if she's okay?"
"She's alright."
She could see him slowly nod and tuck his hands behind his back before bowing. "Thank you. Have a good rest of your day, I'll see you at the game tomorrow."
"Good luck tomorrow, Hanbin."
She waited for sound of the door clicking close before taking her hand off of Yunjin's mouth. Thanking the nurse profusely for lying for her despite not knowing the situation, she could feel a tug on her sweater. Turning to look at Yunjin whose face was decorated in so much shock that it was almost comical, " Why are you acting so weird? And was that Hanbin just looking for you?"
"I can explain."

"Wait, then why did he say yes to Jimin?" Yunjin scoffed, shaking her head.
Y/N hugged her pillow close to her chest. The tears beginning to fall again. She managed to hold herself together as she confessed about the secret relationship between Hanbin and her but the reminder that they were potentially over clouded her mind. She shrugged in response.
"That makes no sense though. Because he never actually broke up with you."
Zhanghao sighed and grabbed tissues from her desk, handing them over to her.
"I'm sorry."
The two girls looked up at him in confusion. In the years that they've all been friends, they have never heard those two words come out of Zhanghao's mouth. He was very unashamed of his actions and if he was ever sorry for something, he would show it through his actions.
"That I was pushing Matthew on you. That I kept saying that Hanbin wouldn't look your way."
"You're not wrong though, Hao. He wouldn't have paid attention to me if it wasn't for us having the same part time job during summer."
"Y/N, don't say that." Yunjin nudged her with her shoulder.
"You’re absolutely gorgeous. You both are. And I kept making comments like you were less than what you are."
"It's fine, Hao."
"Yeah but still I was such a dick."
"You were just trying to help me get over him. Nothing wrong with that."
Zhanghao fell back into the plethora of stuffed animals tucked in the corner. Though all was forgiven, the male couldn't stop the feeling of embarrassment and shamefulness he felt from how he acted in the last week.
Yunjin all of a sudden began giggling which earned confused looks from the other two poeple in the room. "He was so jealous then."
A smile perked up on Zhanghao's pout, " That's right! He was going so hard on Matthew that one day at tryouts. I feared for his life."
Yunjin tickled Y/N's side, her tongue sticking out," Look at you having two boys fighting over you."
"Dude, it was making me so sick. I can't even act like I could brag about it because it was stressing me out so much."
"That explains why he was asking the nurse about you. Aw, Y/N, he was looking for you!"
"Yeah... after he said yes to Jimin during the pep rally."
"I don't know if he even said yes to her. Everything happened so quick and he didn't even smile or do anything through the whole thing." Zhanghao tapped his chin," He was just... in shock."
A sudden knock on her door silenced them all. Peeking in was her mother. "Honey... Hanbin is downstairs."
Plushies flew each side of the room as her two friends scrambled to leave the room through the window but Y/N stopped them. She kneeled to the end of her bed," Can you tell him I'm sleeping already? That I'm still sick from earlier today?"
Her mother frowned before nodding, shutting the door behind her.
"Why are you avoiding him?" Zhanghao questioned, crossing his arms together," And are you not getting his texts or calls?"
"I... blocked him."
"What? Why?"
"Hao, I just don't want to deal with all of this right now. It's too overwhelming."
"If you avoid your problems, they only get worse."
"I just need some time to think about everything, okay? I feel like I got the ultimatum that I have to choose having our relationship public or losing him. Then I also think that Jimin is so much better for him because if he's with her, it'd be so much easier because she's used to the attention. "
"But he doesn't like her, he wants you." Zhanghao waved his hands from left to right," Hence why he was crying over a photo of you and him."
Y/N covered her face with the pillow that was still in her arms," I know... I know... but if he was with her, he wouldn't have to even deal with this bullshit."
Yunjin wrapped her arm around Y/N's shoulder, "I get what you're thinking but he seems like he's all in for you."
"I know... I know... I just don't know if I'm ready. I thought I was. And what if I just disappear from his life. Act like I never in it like I was before. Then he could get over him."
"So you're just going to avoid him until when?"
"Not forever. I just need a moment to think to myself. I've already heard what he has to say."
"So you're just going to let Jimin swoop up and take your man like that?"
"What? No? Yes? I don't know." Y/N abruptly stood up, shocking both of her friends. "You guys are suppose to be helping me but instead you're making me want to throw up some more." Speaking of which, she could her stomach beginning to rumble and the feeling of something up her throat. Stumbling over sheets and pillows to the bathroom, she shut the door behind her. Praying that the fan would cover the noise.
Zhanghao huffed and pulled out his phone. Yunjin decided to keep quiet and watch the show that was put on before Zhanghao came over. When he becomes stressed or annoyed, he tended to find comfort in his phone especially when he's trying to calm down and not blow up on the person he was talking to.
But at that moment, he was currently texting Hanbin to tell him the truth. For two reasons he did so. One, so he didn't have to watch his friend mope around. He disliked seeing Y/N upset especially when she begins to self deflect herself. Two, so he doesn't want to have his teammate mope around when their first scrimmage is tomorrow. While it wasn't a real game, it was still a pretty big deal.
After Zhanghao and Yunjin left, Y/N went downstairs to wash and put away the dishes that they used. Sitting on the couch was her mother, catching up on the shows she missed while at work. In front of her on the coffee table was a white pharmacy bag and bento boxes that were opened up. She walked over to see Mrs.Sung's infamous rolled egg omelette.
She always mentioned to the older lady that she makes the best.
"What's this?"
"Hanbin brought this earlier when he came by. He told me you went to the nurse's earlier that day?"
Y/N sat down and nodded. "Wasn't feeling too well."
"Well, he brought you medicine. Mrs.Sung made you congee. It's on the stove."
Using her finger, she took a peek into the bags and boxes. She could her heart melting at the sight, a note at the bottom of the bag from Hanbin. The message was short with the simple words of Get Well Soon but it meant so much more. The way he went home after practice and still came by her house to drop all of these things off despite it being a bunch of back and forth.
She could feel her mom side eyeing her and honestly, she would too.
The words replaying in her head of how he felt like he was more in love with her than she was with him. Which simply just wasn't the truth and it pained her heart to ever think that he thought that way because her actions are what prompted him to believe so.
She pulled out her phone to text Yunjin and Zhanghao if they could help her for what she was conjuring up in her head. She passed Hanbin's contact in her favorites. Debating if she should unblock him or not. Scared of what's to come next. But in order to get to the next step, she had to. Quickly, she unblocked his contact.
Soon, a spam of notifications appeared. Stating that she had 6 new notifications from messages.
Tumblr media
As she read through the messages he sent her, her vision began to blur from the tears brimming her eyes. Hearing those words written out so beautifully by him.
Cursing herself for realizing it too late. Through every comment she's heard that upset or scared her, she was given the constant reassurance by him that she'll be safe with him. Through everytime she considered that they should break up, she always told herself that Hanbin is worth it all.
Hanbin will always be worth the pain.
_
Though she tried to talk to Hanbin earlier in the day so that it wouldn't seem like she was ignoring his texts from the night prior, it seemed like the world wasn't against her today.
Because of the game tonight, the basketball team was able to leave during PE so she missed him in their last two classes that they shared together. She was able to conjure the confidence to walk up to him during lunch but she pulled away from the planning committee to help plan for the class floats that were going to come out during halftime.
At least he knew that she was going to talk to him and wasn't planning to ignore him until the school year was over. His wide eyes and the clear shout from down the hall, telling her to come to the game tonight, an indiction of so.
It was better this way especially since she wanted to surprise him tonight and she knew she could never hide anything as big as this from him. So this no talking period between them both pained and relived her.
It also gave her more time to sneak around and plan her surprise for him in the period that she was waiting for the game to start with Yunjin. They had planned to grab some hotpot to fill their stomachs but Zhanghao forgot his shoes because of first game jitters so they had to go to his house and grab them. And while they did this task for him, he also complained that he needed it before the warmups started and told them not to take so long. Text messages rushing in every other minute to check up on where they are. He was unknowingly rushing them but they let it slide this time because they will never understand men's weird obsession with smelly clothes being their good luck charm and that it was his first game.
After giving the princess his stinky shoes, the two girls went to a nearby dollar tree to get the materials she needed for what she wanted to prepare for Hanbin. Yunjin dropped Y/N back at home so that the two of them could get some rest before heading out to the game. Yunjin asked Y/N if she wanted her to pick her up but being the person she is that didn't want to inconvenience anybody, Y/N insisted that she would walk there especially since it was still going to be light out when the game started.
She had so much running around today so who could blame her for falling asleep on the couch while watching reruns of Grey's Anatomy?
Maybe then if she took Yunjin up on the offer, she wouldn't have woken up to about 35 missed calls and 60 unread texts combined from both of her best friends. She wouldn't be frantically trying to grab everything and pay for an uber to school so she could get there before the game ended.
She slept through three and half quarters. With only 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Surprisingly with how fast she threw everything together and rushed out of the house to get into the car, she didn't trip over her foot once as she stumbled out of the uber. Leaving a hefty tip for the middle aged man who had to deal with her asking if he could drive any faster despite there being traffic to the school.
Struggling to catch her breath, she saw a large crowd of people exiting the gym. Confirming the worst possibility of all the possibilities.
The game ended on her and Hanbin was left thinking that she flaked on him.
Running towards the entrance, she immediately found Yunjin who grabbed the girl by her shoulder and pushed her away the crowd that stampeding out.
"Y/N! I tried calling and texting you. Where were you?"
"For the life of me, I could not wake up."
Yunjin sighed and began to rub her forehead in frustration," The balloons are still in my car and they should still be inflated. The game just ended and they should still be getting ready to go home."
"Then we have enough time."
"We have enough time."
Y/N took a deep breath, a shaky one that was filled so much anxiety.
"Hey, you don't have to do this. A man's love is not worth risking it all for something that you are not yet comfortable to do."
Y/N quickly shook her head," No, I want to. This is for him and for me."
Yunjin gave her a tight, warm hug," You'll do great. If all goes wrong, I'm just a phone call away and Hao will be nearby." And a quick second, the soft Yunjin was gone. A strict look on her face as she pointed her head towards the large tree at the side of the school," Let's get to work."
_
Y/N nervously tapped her foot against the pavement, crossing her arms together to gather warmth as a strong gust of wind flew by.
The sound of boys yelping and clammering of the locker room gained her attention, turning her head to find Hanbin in the crowd.
Because they are teenage boys, everyone looked the same especially after taking a shower. There were no differences in hair to tell them apart. Ignoring the side eyes and quick glances, she stepped closer to the entrance just to make sure she didn't miss.
Accidentally bumping into strong frame that immediately caught her.
"Y/N!" Matthew cheered, a wide smile at her appearance. " I didn't know you were coming tonight!"
"Oh... yeahh..." Y/N smiled softly back, her eyes darting from his face to whoever was coming up behind him.
"Did you see the basket I got? It was so intense because all of the guys from the other team were like ganging up on me and honestly I kinda rushed to throw the ball and it actually got in."
Y/N's mouth dropped down in shock," Dang, that's some real talent. But I'm sorry, I didn't get to see it. I... missed like the whole game."
"Wait then why are you here?"
Y/N leaned down to whisper," I'm actually going to ask Hanbin to homecoming."
Matthew's gasp came out louder than Y/N expected, his hands clasping down together with hers. "Dude no way!" He quickly pushed her into his arms and wrapped her into a hug as he swung their bodies left to right," I'm so proud of you. It's going to be great. I can't wait for you guys to-"
Y/N quickly pushed Matthew off when she opened her eyes and found Hanbin standing at the entrance, only a few feet away from them. He was already focused in the position the two were in, his eyes wide. When he finally snapped out of it, the emotions ran dry from his face as he cleared his throat.
"By all means, do not let me interrupt."
"Crap." Y/N and Matthew mumbled underneath their breaths as Hanbin began to storm off in the direction of the parking lot.
Without bidding a goodbye to Matthew, Y/N ran after the boy. His long legs benefitting him as whenever she thought she was caught up to him, she wasn't.
"Hanbin!" She yelled, her voice cracking as she never really spoke that loud unless she really needed to.
He stopped in his steps but continuing on.
Groaning out of frustration, she quickly ran again to grab his arm and made him face her. "Hanbin, please."
"No!" He threw her hand of his arm," You didn't text me back all night. And then I see you with Matthew. Y/N, you could've just told me what you wanted and spared me the shock because I'm already heartbroken as is."
Not finding the right words to say in the heat of the moment, Y/N pulled him in the direction of the soccer field.
Hanbin didn't resist but questions spurred out every second, telling her to say something or asking where she was taking him.
As they reached closer to the tree, she couldn't find which one it was as she couldn't seem to find the decorations that Yunjin and her rushed to do in 10 minutes. Curses sprang from her mouth when she finally found the sign. Only the sign. That wrote out Wanna Dance? in Zhanghao's chicken writing.
She immediately dropped Hanbin's hand, looking at the bare trees that no longer had his favorite colored balloons tied to them. And the lights that were scattered throughout the grass with the flowers all over the place. It looked like a tornado had blew through this place.
This was suppose to be perfect.
But it was all ruined because they didn't read the wind advisory warnings or tie down everything tight enough so that it would stay.
Tears quickly brimmed her eyes, turning back to look at Hanbin who still hadn't said anything or gave any type of reaction which worried her more.
"Binnie... I swear there was so much more. I wouldn't... I wouldn't do something as basic as this. I had everything planned and it was so pretty when I finished setting it up with Yunjin." The salty tears ran down to her mouth, causing her to involuntarily bring her hand up to rub at her eyes. Between sobs, she whispered underneath her breath," I had it all planned. I wanted it to be perfect for you because you've done so much me and I love you so much. I wanted to prove to show you that I love you just as much, if not more, as you do."
She kept rambling on and on how everything was ruined.
She would've jolted if not for the fact that his warm touch was comforting on her skin. His hands pulling her arms down so that her hands were off his face.
"Binnie... I'm so sorry. I understand if you don't want to get-"
Lips halted her mid-apology. Hanbin's cupping her cheek as he moved his lips against hers. He pushed in harder, encouraging her to join him which she did. Her arms wrapped around his neck, eyes fluttering close as their lips fought eagerly against each other.
"Don't finish that sentence." His lips connecting against hers before he pulled away to catch his breath," You know I'll always want you. I love you."

The Great BNHA Review: Potential
So I'm actually gonna be splitting this into four parts and then one more wrapping up how I feel about the ending and the overall series. The topics I'm going to talk about are the following.
The potential the characters had and how Hori squandered them.
The world they live in and how things are done in society, only for nothing to really change in the end and for things to not make sense.
The morals and messages it tries to convey.
And then (REDACTED).
Anyways, let's get going with Potential.
With a cast of characters as interesting looking as they were and the glimpses of personality we saw, like Jiro thinking she has to choose between being a hero or a musician, or Shoji and mutant discrimination. You would think that with how interesting the class looks, that they would get some role in the story or their own respective arcs to expand on their characters.
Except that's not what happened.
The main focus most of the time either falls on Izuku, Bakugou, Shoto, and sometimes Ochako. So that's four out of twenty students that gets the spotlight while everyone else is regulated to minor characters who are only brought in to fights.
Which is honestly kind of disappointing because many of them look to have stories waiting to be told and can be good characters! Because I wanna learn more about Sero, I wanna learn more about Hagakure, I wanna learn more about Shoji. But now that the manga's over, that's not gonna be possible.
This is especially terrible since in the final war arc half of the fight is just fucking flashbacks to expand on some of the characters fighting when it should've been something covered earlier in the manga instead of hyping Bakugou up. It all just feels too little too late and makes things cluttered and unorganized.
And then we have the villains.
They were kind of cool when they got introduced and had a lot of potential to challenge the heroes. To really make them open their eyes to how flawed their society is and why it needs to change. They could each have an upbringing that brought them to where they are now and why they wanna join to make a difference. They could be some compelling and intriguing antagonists for the heroes to face.
... Except we don't get any of that.
What really hurts the villains in this series is how Hori tends to flip flop between making them sympathetic and their heroic counterparts wanting to save them, and making them so cartoonishly evil that the villains from the POWERPUFF GIRLS comes off as more compelling compared to them!
And it's like... pick one or the other Hori! Either they're victims of society or they're just irredeemable! And what sucks the most about this is that they HAD something going on! They could've rise from losing AFO and promise to make a change for the better! The My Villain Academia part shows how this was possible!
But instead they ended not in a bang... but a whimper. they all pretty much died in the end or confirmed to the very society that hurt them so what was the point of trying to redeeming them?
Then finally... we have the main character himself. Izuku Midoriya.
Oh how Hori utterly failed you...
You started off so promising in the first two episodes, You could've been a quirkless hero to make the message of anyone can be a hero really have an impact. You could've rose from your pain and suffering and show everyone what you can really do.
But sadly that's not what happened. You were given a quirk that hurts you, nobody really helps you with it, you're forced to work with your bully and never grow out of the mindset that he's awesome, every adult you associate with has failed you in some way, you're forced to distance yourself from your friends so Hori can have his Cash Cow Triplets, you're never really challenged in any unique way other than "just punch your problems away", and ultimate... you just became a watered down version of what you started off as with no introspection whatsoever.
I have never seen a character so stagnate in their arc and development in such a series before, only beaten recently by Vaggie in terms of just never growing or learning anything else.
Izuku really deserves to be in a story with an author that can utilize his potential to the fullest and give him the love and attention he deserves, because this series and Hori just wasn't it.
As for the Pro Heroes, they really were nothing in the end. All they can summed up as them just saying.
"Our society is bad, it's up to the next generation to make things better in the future. We need these teenagers to fight in wars because only they stand a chance compared to us bumbling adults!"
That's all that I get from them.
Stay tuned for next post where we'll look into society and how it's flawed, and what the characters do to change (not really) any of it.

Coward and Proud of It
(Nathaniel is drawing in his sketchbook after another akuma attack, and notices his classmates looking embarassed, their faces riddled with guilt.)
Nathaniel: Why do you guys look like that?
Alix: Dude, we’re such horrible friends! We forgot about you again!
(He looked confused. She sounded sincere, but why?)
Rose: I can’t believe we left you behind! We’re supposed to look out for each other!
Nathaniel: Uh, what are you talking about?
Nino: We didn’t go back to look for you dude! We were too busy saving our own skins. (He looks ashamed. Nathaniel realizes what’s going on.)
Nathaniel: Are you talking about the last akuma attack? You think you abandoned me?
Kim: Yeah! You were nowhere to be found. Weren’t you looking for us?
Nathaniel: Uh... no? Guys, you didn’t leave me behind. I left you.
(The entire class gasps in shock.)
Chloe: What are you on about, Kurtzberg?!
(He just rolls his eyes at the girl.)
Nathaniel: Whenever I am able to do so, I slip away from you guys. Afterall, Akumas seem to have a magnet for our group. And the best way to avoid getting killed is to lay low, away from the source.
Adrien: You make it sound like we’re a liability to you!
Nathaniel: *Bluntly* You are. You all run around like headless chickens, instead of ducking for cover and keeping your heads down. If this were a zombie apocalypse, you’d fail horribly. Well, except for Adrien and Marinette. Somehow you two always manage to avoid the brunt of the attacks. Not to mention you’ve never been akumatized yourselves. Main character energy if I’ve ever seen it.
Marinette: Yeah... that’s the reason. *Internally sweating*
Max: Nathaniel, you make up one fourteenth of a group. I am pretty sure we’d realize if you had abandoned us.
Nathaniel: Well, Max, for a guy with such a high iq, you clearly weren’t smart enough the other four times I did it.
Alya: Hold on a second, you’ve left us FIVE TIMES?!
(Nathaniel nods. He doesn’t understand why everyone seems so surprised.)
Nathaniel: You make it sound like it’s such a hard thing to do. When you’re all freaking out like that, it’s easy for a quiet guy like me to slip away.
Alix: (Talking about the Art Club Squad) But every time we texted you in the group chat, you acted like you were trying to find us. You even said you understood how panicked we got.
Nathaniel: Yeah, I was lying. You think I’m gonna reveal my escape plans? Then you’ll wanna join me, and I can’t have anyone from this class, even my friends, putting a target on my back via association.
Juleka: *Mumbling* Ouch, dude.
Chloe: Hmph! Well if you’re so elusive, tell us how on earth a nobody like you managed to survive all these attacks.
Nathaniel: Why should I tell you? You’d just try to join me next time.
(Rose uses her puppy dog eyes, and he caves.)
Nathaniel: Alright, fine. But I’m not taking any of you next time, you hear me?
(They grumble and nod.)
Nathaniel: Ok, Stormy Weather was pretty easy. All I had to do was avoid Alec, head home to my house, shut all the windows, lock the doors, hide under the bed, and done. For some reason, Akumas usually attack anyone unlucky enough to be outside. If they don’t have a specific victim in mind that is.
(The classmates all mutter in agreement. He had a point.)
Nathaniel: Next up was Guitar Villain, and once again you all ran off together, not even thinking of splitting up. And it seems none of you got the idea of just pretending to like the music. That’s what I did, just copied what I saw Ivan doing in class the day before, and headbanged like there was no tomorrow. I find the music to be cringe as all hell, not to mention the singer’s a deadbeat dad with an obviously fake English accent, but I had to fake it to make it.
Juleka: *Muttering* He really is a scumbag.
Nathaniel: Then there was Frightingale. I didn’t escape by myself, since I got a helping hand from a certain cute writer who I had been in the music video with. Turns out we had both been crushing on the other for awhile, and finally had the courage to ask eachother out. He took me to a safespot with the other kids in Mendeliev’s class, they took a liking to me, since I actually bothered to ask about their lives. You do realize that the kids besides Marc, Mireille, Jean and Aurore have names right?
Marinette: Of course we did!
Nathaniel: Really, what are they?
(The class is unable to even come up with a guess.)
Sabrina: Uh...
Nathaniel: That’s what I thought. Anyway, Zombizou was my favorite. Me and the Science kids got to kick love-zombie ass, and in order to avoid suspicion, Marc and I kept making out whenever they were near. It was so awesome! (He blushes before getting back on topic.) So yeah. You guys never abandoned me, I abandoned you. And before you say anything, no, I’m not sorry.
Alix: *Looking forlorn* But dude... we’re your friends!
Nathaniel: Well, you are. Most of the Art Squad is, but the rest of you only interact with me if you need something for your ships. You realize I’m an accomplished cartoonist, right? The Ladybug comic I work on with Marc is a huge success. I’m just as important as the rest of you!
Kim: Dude, we aren’t saying you’re not.
Nathaniel: Well I wasn’t important enough for any of you to notice I was being bullied by Chloe?
Chloe: Oh please, Kurtzberg. You got off easy.
Marinette: She made everyone’s life bad, Nathaniel. Not just yours!
Nathaniel: When you get bullied, everyone coddles you. When I get humiliated in front of the class, nobody besides my art friends came to comfort me, to explain to me why I got akumatized, why I was right to feel angry about what happened. Marc’s class also took the time to explain to me how it was creepy to write my self-insert being in love with a real classmate. They’re the reason I apologized to you, Marinette.
Chloe: Well if they’re so cool, then why don’t you join them!
Mylene: Chloe! We wouldn’t want that! Nathaniel’s our friend!
Nathaniel: Actually, that’s what I plan on doing next year. No offense, but I can only tolerate like half of you. I’d rather be with a class that actually recognizes my value, that takes the time to ask how I’m doing. If that makes me a background character in your world, so be it.
(He gets up and sees Marc waiting for him.)
Nathaniel: I’m not some helpless little lamb that gets lost whenever there’s an akuma. I’m a survivor, a coward, and I’m proud of it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna make out with my boyfriend.
(He smirks as he sees each classmate with their jaw on the floor.)
Turns out our Nath wasn’t abandoned after all. He’s just an escape artist. This felt so cathartic to write, and I hope you enjoyed it. As usual, let me know your thoughts in reblogs, replies, posts, and asks. @artzychic27 @msweebyness

TIG request: Grayson starts falling for y/n(or however you do that, OC, whatever) who happens to be Jamie’s best friend?
𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞? - grayson x oc
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-.- DAISY
Daisy had been friends with Jameson hawthorne for as long as she could remember, she had practically grown up around the hawthornes, except there was one specific hawthorne who had never bothered to be-friend her, Grayson davenport hawthorne, but in his defence, she had never seen him with any friends.
Grayson and Jameson along with her and avery were having what you could call a family vacation in london. It was almost christmas, so walking down oxford street to see the lights had become a nightly occurance for them, you see the problem was that while jameson and avery were being all lovey dovey she was stuck with Grayson, and it was safe to say that he was not a fan of talking. Most nights he just ignored her to take pictures of the lights, and on the rare occasion she attempted to make conversation, he gave her close ended answers and made it awkward for her to carry it on, so she mainly just walked around alone. Luckily, tonight, Avery and Jameson were on a date, so there was no need for them to go out, no need for her to wander around aimlessly, no need for unnecessary conversation. She practically screamed with happiness at the thought.
GRAYSON
Grayson had been stood outside daisy’s door for the better part of half an hour, debating whether to ask her if she wanted to go see the lights with him. He knew he shouldn’t, he knew that getting involved with her could ruin her and Jamesons friendship, and Grayson couldn’t let another girl come between them. It was selfish of him really, to ask her, but god he couldn’t help it. He couldn’t help thinking about her beautiful smile, he horrendous attempts at making conversation that often consisted of asking him random questions, although he ingnored them, they still made him feel warm inside. god, nobody made him feel warm inside. Except for her.
the worst she can say is no right?
DAISY
A knock sounded at her door. Jameson, maybe? No him and Avery had just left an hour ago. Daisy walked towards the door and put her mouth to the crack. “Who is it?” She asked, “I-uh it’s me, Grayson.” She practically ripped open the door. “Grayson?” She asked, raising an eyebrow, “what are you doing here.” Grayson blushed. That’s right, Grayson Hawthorne blushed, “I- I came to ask you something.” She gestured for him to go on. “Do you want go see the lights with me?” She stared at him blankly. “I mean, you don’t have to- like at all, I was just wandering becau-“
“I’ll come with you.” Grayson looked taken aback, “you will?” She nodded at him, “just give me ten minutes to get ready.”
GRAYSON
half an hour later, they were walking the streets of London, admiring the lights together. Grayson was answering her questions, even asking her some of his own. This was by far the most fun he’d had in a long time. The gentle, powdery snow fell around them, crunching under their boots. After a few more minutes of walking up and down, Daisy suddenly grabbed Graysons hand, “GRAYSON!” She squeeled, naturally, Grayson went into panic mode, “is everything ok? Did something happen?” Daisy grabbed his hand, a huge smile on her face, “no- they’re selling flowers!” Grayson followed her pointing finger with his eyes, she was pointing at a flower stall, perched on the side of the rode.
“Can we go get some?” Grayson had never seen her smile so big, “I suppose so.”
DAISY
Daisy loved flowers, and this flower stall had so many different kinds, lillies of the valley, sunflowers, roses, babies breaths, tulips. This was her kind of heaven. She had honestly forgotten about Grayson until she felt him tap on her shoulder. When she spun around to face him, he was holding a bouquet of flowers.
More specifically, a bouquet of daisies. “Grayson?” She took a gentle step towards him, “are these- for me?” Grayson cleared his throat and looked down, “um, yes. If you want them of course.” She jumped up and wrapped her arms around his neck, “of course I want them Grayson!” She couldn’t actually believe that Grayson had just bought her flowers. When she looked up. Grayson was smiling. At her, and god what a gorgeous smile it was.
“Grayson?”
“yes, daisy?” She looked up at him, “can I kiss you?” Graysons eyes widened, “ I mean if you wan-“ she cut him off by pressing her mouth to his.
when they pulled apart, daisy couldn’t stop laughing, “daisy, what are you laughing at?” Grayson looked confused, “it’s nothing, it’s just- I can’t believe Grayson Hawthorne, bought flowers for me.”
-.-
hope you like this anon who requested it! Sorry it took so long, it completely deleted so I had to restart 😭

What flower is on Catherine of Aragon's necklace?
Tumblr media
White rose and? If you say red rose, then you need to have your eye-sight check, seriously.
Read further if you want to know what this reddish-orange flower might be.
Tumblr media
This portrait needs no introduction. There are multiple theories as to who it us and my fans know I firmly believe it is Catherine of Aragon and not Mary Rose Tudor.
Well, about a month ago I've red an article which mentions the problematic: Michael Sittow Exhibition and Catalog Review by Stephan Kemperdick.
He is curator in Gemäldegalerie in Berlin.
And words of Dr Kemperdick has restored my faith in proffesionals who deal with art. Because his take upon this portrait...it's pure proffesionalism at its best. How it should be.
(Although bit confusing to normal fans because Mr Kemperdick is refering to the portraits not by names we fans use...but their locations or other names...I was ok with it...I think most of you would struggle with it.)
He makes such excellent points regarding this portrait.
And today I'm going to talk about one of them, one which I have known about for while, but kept putting on for later, because I had no answers.
This necklace is not showing white and red roses!
Tumblr media
The white flower looks like rose, but the other flower is not even red! It's orange-red! And has pointy leaves! Roses with such petals didn't exist in Tudor era! (And I'd say they don't even now.)
White rose+orange-red flower with pointy leaves is not representation of Tudor rose!
(The tiny red and white flwers could be representing Tudor roses, but they seem to have just four petals...but that can be just optical ilusion...we don't have them in HD.)
That this necklace is showing Tudor roses is false observation, which is insisted upon! And false observation made both by Mr Mathews when he identified it as Mary Rose and by Friedländer(the guy who identified it as Catherine of Aragon in 1915.
Don't get me wrong, I still believe it is Catherine...but what the hell is the other flower?! What is this orange(or slightly red) pointy thing?!
I tried to find something which would fit...but it's probably not orange lily...tulips look good from side but not from this angle...
What the hell is it...and why would it be important to Catherine.
Straight away i went to look, how does pomegranate flower look like.
Tumblr media
Colour ok? Orange-ish red...but completely wrong shape of petals.
So I thought that is the end of the theory. Then I went on holiday...and by chance there were dozens of pomegranate trees/shrubs. Most had already nice green fruit(not yet ripe), rather large even.
But there were few blooms and I noticed something.
Pomegranate flower has something very curious behind the petals.
Tumblr media
And I thought...is that beginning of fruit already? Seems odd...These things were very red...and all pomegranate fruits on tree were very green...not hint of redness in them.
Apparently this thing behind the petals of pomegrante flower is called sepal, it protects the flower in the bud, and then in some fruit types the sepals can form 'accessory fruit'-it doesn't fall off, but becomes part of the fruit itself. In pomegranate's case, can you guess which part?
Tumblr media
And amazingly, after petals fall off, often the sepals are no longer so vividly red...but instead turn to peachy orange with some redness:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Normally it has 6 sepals but I've seen few with 7, and on grown fruit(already not orange) I've seen even 5.
So I think it is possible that the orange flower on Catherine's necklace are sepals of pomegrante.
Tumblr media
Pomegranate in unsual form.
Seriously, it has been identified as Catherine for so long..before Mary Rose nonsense started...and nobody thought to investigate if it could be pomegranate?
...Insisting upon false observation indeed!
And remember what Mr Mathews said...it can't be Catherine of Aragon, because her symbol is pomegranate...and she is not wearing it.
Except she might be wearing pomegranate...just not in usual form.

As we're getting into "big family meal" season, what are the ROs family lives like? Among the rich kids, who's family actually does family-only non-business not-for-clout stuff? Sit down meals, that sort of thing? For the not-rich-as-kids folks, who has/had a good family life? Do they keep in touch or get together with family? How would the ROs feel about getting roped into a significant other's family traditions?
impossible question to answer succinctly. the windhams probably have the most wholesome family dynamic including the most cousins the main branch is actually in contact with, but even out of them, it's rare that every single one ends up home. people are busy, sometimes choose to be with friends, but when it all works out there can be up to 20+ at their place for homely gathering.
the kamyas definitely had comfortable sit down dinners, but since elias died the vibes are not the same. monty and her parents don't have a bad relationship but i don't think she can bear to be around them by herself for a family dinner yet. things probably veer towards business by accident, because of the importance they place on it in regards to bettering the family.
the zus were once tied to the wangs (number 6) through marriage, although none of them were very comfortable with mars. unfortunately he is the kind to have everyone together for unity rather than actual family love, and it was easier to go along with than fight. arguments at the dinner table probably disintegrated that, especially because nobody ever took noir's side, not even his maternal aunts or grandparents, even if they agreed with him and often left him the only one standing up for himself which contributed to his position now. presently, zu family dinners are business affairs with mars, lemon and kai in thin debates, zia and sometimes twenty plus whichever simp might've been lucky enough to get an invite to to get an opportunity from mars.
the vinterens threw elite parties rather than family meals. violeta has obviously never been a big family woman, but the she liked the attention and buzz from guests and the excuse to get absolutely smashed rather than sit around and actually talk to her few relatives left. benz might have put his name on them sometimes but they were probably too indulgent for even him to risk getting his reputation too embroiled with.
the hales would've had nightmarish family dinners back when laurel and ten were children. barely a single night they could be in the same room without laurel and benz fighting, so he would've given up and left them with any of his siblings/cousins/in-laws and their partners that weren't too busy to be there. present day he's doubled down on business even more, so like mars he usually uses dinners as an opportunity to get all his higher ups in one place. since hebe has grown up she's better at diplomacy and sits through them to learn, but they are by no means warm or fun affairs. maybe there was exceptions when MC, hebe and elspeth were kids but maybe they see it through rose coloured glasses.
the sissels are another family that probably ends in arguments at the table, though not out of spite but the sheer amount of stress and pressure they feel from being so new, so to speak, to the lifestyle. otherwise they would probably have a happy family gathering not taken over by gossip and speculation, because their priorities would be different. they do like a spectacle though. fancy desserts and fire tricks and less focus on actually eating the food than being impressive. they do definitely try, though. jelly and pixy are simply too old to keep falling for the facade.
the only lower class character who we (as the MC) can infer anything about is sailor, because honey, jareth and ludo have very obscure family lives. they did have a hodgepodge family that loved them, but when their mother got sick the money problem got exacerbated and the glue of the family disintegrated. all the cracks in the fragile happiness got too large to salvage. they enjoy what they have at the MC's place, even if the MC is the kind of person to expect them to eat with staff instead. the food is better and they have a sustainable way to access it, and they know how to make the most of temporary bonds.

Never underestimate the greatest magician of fontaine
Tumblr media
This is too cute <lil Aether's reaction!>
Tumblr media
It's hard for Aether to concentrate on his commisons when he felt eyes have been hovering over him behind his back.
Was it an enemy? Not even Piamon sense such a hawk eye vision under him. Like the spotlight of attention.
He heard Paimon saying something about eating at the restaurant since she got a monstrous appetite.
She proceeded ahead while Aether counted his mora with a slight grimace. Still, who is he to deny a Paimon. Then, upon the arrival, he watched Paimon corner herself with piles of macaroons and fonta. The sweet tooth seemed to tempt even Aether to eat some, though he wanted specifically hungry. Paimon stuffed her face saying something with filled up cheeks.
His gaze shifted to the corner, where he felt himself being watched once again. Its nerve wrecking.
They were at a peaceful corner completely invisible to the crowd except the waitress.
Maybe he was paranoid. There's no way someone was that keen to see him, if that's the case they could approach him.
"Paimons gonna order seconds and something spicy for sure"
"H-hey, control yourself and consider the expenses at least"
She waved off. "Fine, fine Paimon will be careful"
She was off, and he sighed, but it was short-lived when a touch of warm breath reached his ear he flinched away. "Well, fancy seeing you here, Aether."
Struggling to look up, the figure sat back down, and it was no doubt Lyney the magician. How did he get here? He could've sworn Lyney wasn't in this restaurant before. He really is a magician.
"Hey, Lyney, didn't expect to see you hear, what's up?"
It's almost as if he asked a penalty question, and Lyney snickered adorably "Why indeed? I just want to pay off a debt I couldn't repay"
"O-Oh, who would that be?"
"You"
Huh? What debt? And was he really expecting payment from Lyney-
"Eek!" He almost shrieked when cold fingers grabbed his bare sides. Thankfully, for Aether, nobody heard it through the loud chatters of other gentlemen. He let out a sigh of wavery relief now.
Hissing desperately, he grabbed those wrists. "N-not hehehere Lyney... I thohohought-!"
"You thought what? I'll not get revenge at the times you least expect?" He manage to break free from the traveller's hold only to pinch his exposed belly.
This drove Aether nuts as he leaned back against the chair, evading those cruel fingers.
Paimon is sure taking her time ordering, and that was suspicious enough, tho that was the least of his worries. He knew Lyney would get revenge, but to come all the way here stalking him and surprising him is a bit much.
"You sure one to talk considering how you keep your sensitive spots in the open"
"Thahahat ihihis wehehell -Ahaha Lynehehehey! Yohohohou!"
There were some suspicious looks in their directions, and it was certainly brief, but Lyney had to stop and avoid getting attention. He took a mere look back only to see Paimon and Lynette having a bargain of their own.
Those two sure have a lot to talk about... Lyney thought with a wry smile.
"Ahahalright thahahats enohohohough!"
In a sudden twist of fate Aether was able to reach over and tickle Lyney's armpits who squeaked in surprise.
"Nohohot thehehere!"
"Like I sahahaid, you were asking for it"
Seems he was more ticklish, but he had to reach for Aethers' sides again just to stop him momentarily.
Though they had a secure corner they were all struggling an evenly matched war. Aether seemed to be having a bit of an advantage with Lyney's sensitivity although he had exposed his vulnerable sides as a price. He felt his own cheeks blush from the thrill.
Lyney being beneath soon pushed forward only to tickle back his ear, which he deduced was sensitive since the beginning.
It was a bit of a wave change as Aether suddenly shrilled, making them both stop from that startled sound.
The crowd definitely heard that but they couldn't tell who it was. They all turned around, even Aether blushed hard while closing his mouth.
Lyney pursed his trembling lips, the cute sound was too hilarious that he lowered his head to hide the giggles.
"Not fair!" He growled now, nudging his side till he flinched away from the playful touch. He shook his head now. "Sohorry thahat sound was... -ahahaha oh my gohohod, I gotta rehehehember thihis"
"I thought I told you guys to talk, not mess around with each other" the calm tone of Lynette made them both look up.
Aether sighed. "No wonder, you distracted Paimon, thanks for indulging her"
She smiled cordially, "sure"
Lyney sighed now wiping a tear "If we actuallt had an all out tickle war I'd straight go for the ear"
Frowned as he felt embarrassed, he huffed "Yeah well don't forget you made a similar noise to your thighs so... don't get cocky"
Chuckling at their game play, Lynette watched Paimon arrived with a large serve of meals in each palm. She tossed to the table now gasping in delight "Man this is Paimon's best day ever!"
Lyney anxiously turned to his sister "Uh, sis... might I ask who's paying for all that?"
She casually took out his wallet now, without any proper expression to tease him further, "You, of course... your the magician here"
His heart clutches now, graoning "oh fine"
Aether patted his shoulder with assurance. "Let's split the cost, I kinda owe you too"
..............................
Tumblr media
Btw I hope u don't mind it, I made it a switch because... I'm kinda lee!lyney obsessed, hehehe
Thank u everyone enjoy this!

was thinking abt how my ideal doctor/yaz is when they love each other only sliiiightly more than they hate themselves, but then i was like, you know what might be better actually? if they dont love each other at all
i mean think about it. it's easy. they cant. they havent, like, build a life together. they never had to. love is a promise they didnt make
what passes for romantic feelings for companions in the doctor i think generally is idolisation. yaz has definitely been idolising. depending on your take the doctor might also have been the object of her first queer feelings ever. shes unattainable in like every way for yaz. theres no future to imagine here. there never was. i dont think either of them ever assumed there would be either. theyve had their eyes on the finish line since the beginning
so imagine a reunion. yaz and 14. every barrier now lifted. the doctor no longer lives a life of running from one place to the next; no more being with the doctor means neglecting home. hes suddenly emotionally available too. and they both know,,,Everything. they both know everything theyve never talked about. they reach the finish line and crash over it, into each other, no one had plans for this. a mess
so time to build, right? this is everything they wanted, right? except, is it? they only know each other in extremis. two adrenaline junkies in shared search of a fix. two people unable to stop running, forcibly grounded. yaz has five years of unspoken grievances to air. the doctor about five thousand of unspeakable memories. this is two peas in a powder keg
the doctor attaches in extremes, with abandon, yaz only cautiously, with reservation. neither of them know how to do friendship very well. theyve spent years afraid of losing each other, do you think theyre gonna be able to tolerate being apart now? even if being around each other is pressing every wrong button like a novice pilot or one who never read the manual, and inevitably leads to arguments they both know are years out of date but cant stop themselves from having anyway?
their coping mechanisms might have been malformed but now theyre taken away. dont you think theyre gonna come up with something to replace picking fights with daleks? we've got ptsd à deux and nowhere to go. if they cant be helpful at least they can keep busy. picking fights with each other. having sex with each other, because hey we got this newfound queer sexuality we should try it out, right? none of this is quite right but we're not gonna stop to think now, are we?
should we talk about the gender thing? oh but youre a timelord, billions of years beyond this petty human obsession. but, youre not. so why not obsess a little. rather this than the other stuff. and yaz likes you as a woman. and rose gets all this trans stuff. keep weaving them in because if you stop they might just fall out. of your orbit, the world, the universe, the story. you'll never see them again and you'll be all alone. again. better keep tying knots
how long until they realise this is worse than it was? how long before they can admit it to themselves? how many people to suggest, to one or the other, that hey maybe you guys should spend some time apart? go on vacation, find a hobby, get a job, talk to other people, give yourself a break. how many people to get snapped and yelled at because what do they know? what does anyone know? nobody does, nobody gets it. ryan and graham left, dan came in too late. nobody else lived their days. nobody could possibly understand whats between them. including them
it's yaz who tries breaking up, of course. takes too long to get there, but she would get there. eventually. the doctor gets mean, all "glad to be home?", all tooth and nail and you cant leave me i leave you, all scoffs and snarls, "we're not together, yaz"
"sure, whatever you say"
but if people stop watching doctor who kills himself. the doctor doesnt say this, of course. but yaz is very proficient in all the ways the doctor does not say things
"yeah well, survived it last time, so"
she doesnt clarify who. doesnt need to. the game of chicken never ended, only changed shape. who falls first, who realises first, who admits first, who stays alive longest after the universe ends. and now, perhaps, whos gonna reach for desperate measures first
place your bets

From school idol takeshi to dame tsuna , how popular is Rio? Talk about her school social status in the namichu hierarchy ♡ , hahaha
Emergency! It's here! A question is here! All neurons on their posts.
Hehe~ Expect it back at you if you haven't answered it yet (I don't remember seeing it but I'll check). Also, have a nice day Jojo!! 😊💕
So, social status... Let's see that.
────── 〔✿〕──────
Social status: non-existent.
Rio is consciously average. You know why? Because it's the best way to avoid attention. When people hear Yamamoto, they always think of Takeshi. Is there another one? Never heard of them.
She makes sure her committee tasks are well done so there are no problems on her part; she does her homework well enough, but never perfectly; she keeps her grades not too high nor too low, so neither her classmates would be jealous nor her teachers would worry about her.
(Every rose has a thorn, and Rio's is P.E. There's no way she doesn't get compared to Takeshi or expected to be like him in that class).
She always makes this nice smile and answers when someone talks to her but doesn't engage in conversation deeply enough for people to recall her.
It's all a conscious effort.
Easier to manage during her first year, as she was in a different class than the rest, truth to be told.
But she can adjust pretty well to the new situation in her second year, with all the group and, for the first time in her life, Takeshi in the same class.
Social status: Yamamoto Rio
There's one exception, one who has known her name apart from her brother's and is painfully aware of her existence since almost day one.
Hibari can't explain why nobody else talks about what he considers an elephant in the room: the empty chair during the morning meetings.
That's against the rules. And if he has to stop by Takesushi at dawn to grab Yamamoto Rio by the hair and drag her to school, he might do it...
Or so he thinks, but Rio is lucky and she always manages to avoid or shut down Hibari's 'bite you to death' mode.
