Diet culture might use that common saying to make you believe now is the best time to change your lifestyle.
It’ll make you believe that the answer to “new year, new you” is some diet.
But what’s wrong with the current you, anyway?
Before you jump on to the latest fad diet, take some time to sit with the question of why you want to go on a diet in the first place. Is it because you want to change something about you? Are the voices your own or that of diet culture?
Growth is beautiful, but don’t force yourself to change something about yourself just because society (and diet culture) tells you to.

Jesus saved me from myself, changed the way I think about many things and helped me out of the darkness. 
Something that so many women struggle with is self esteem, pressure of being perfect, society’s high expectations of beauty, which leads to so many eating disorders and self contempt.
For me, following Jesus, eating an abundance of wholesome plant based foods without limitations, throwing away the dieting mentality and the ways of this world, focusing on true self-care and true health has helped me heal tremendously.
This verse really signifies this feat for me 💜

What Causes Emotional & Binge Eating If you have ever tried fixing this problem by doing therapy, you may have been told that: - You have an eating disorder - It is not your fault - The root cause may be your emotional state and difficulty to deal with everyday challenges. And apparently, once you are able to cope without having to use food to numb your feelings, you will be healed. Or if you just stay away from the trigger foods like sugar and white flour you are more likely to stop binging. But if that was really the case, the chances of recovering from binge eating would be very slim. Healing emotions doesn’t heal emotional eating directly. Staying away from the trigger foods is almost impossible looking at long term especially with the kids around. And even a person who is really well balanced and emotionally stable may have some bad days on occasions. Would that mean, that they will go and binge on that day? Before I knew anything about mindful eating. I just ate random stuff, rather I liked it alot or not. I ate more when I was bored, tired, frustrated, and felt stuck in life. These urges didn't just go away once I decided to live healthier. That's why mindful eating is so important. I will be teaching more on this topic, because it can save so many people alot of regret and toil. I learned to eat what I want, but I check in with myself 1st to see if I'm really hungry, thirsty, tired, bored, or am I hiding my emotions in the food? . I ask myself is the taste of the food even worth the calories that come with it? (I'm not a calorie counter js) . Could I prepare the foods I love in a healthier way with real ingredients that I can pronounce and my body will recognize? . Over the years, I've created recipes so I can continue to enjoy food, but now I eat with more purpose, passion, and intention. PM me if you'd like to get access to them. .
