I was wondering if you know how to deal with the hate, especially in queer spaces. It's supposed to be, preached as, safe there, but most of the time it isn't.

I don't feel safe the community. I know that's bad and I should but I don't know how to get past it all. Honestly I barely even say I'm trans or queer at this point, hey a lot don't want me there maybe completely removing myself would be best? There was the whole "trans men shouldnt be apart of trans/queer comunities because they dont experience hate" a while back. I know it's not every space and I have just been unlucky in finding places but it feels like more and more places are agreeing with terfs now and I don't know how to handle that. I'm so scared.

Sorry if this is rambly, I've never felt okay to tell this to anyone.

you know it's a good question, considering how fractured up the online communities really are right now. the issue is that enough people have taken the rad feminist bait and begun arguing with their neighboring queers they don't understand. it's a really tough time. i actually also feel alienated from most of the community, believe it or not. i sort of stick to myself and interact with my own fan base because i'm unsure as to whether or not people think i'm whatever -phobic they're the most riled up about because of how "Extreme" my beliefs are or whatever.

it's crazy but it seems like people are literally becoming proud conservatives right now. it seems like people are super proud that they hate gender non conformity right now, and lesbians who are men, bisexual gays and lesbians, female gays, trans women, trans men... people are proud to hate queers online right now. they completely fell for the conservative rad feminist bait and they don't see it. they're doing exactly what they want. the more they fight with each other they less we can have productive conversation

i say start out small. work with a small group of people you feel comfortable with, and slowly branch out and add people as you go. it's best to not overwhelm yourself with a community that's too large. i joined a community recently that didn't let me join because i listed 2 of my identities as fag and dyke. it was an 18+ community. it was really wild to watch. people are literally regressing and becoming conservatives. but there's also open minded queers literally ever

we need to bond together more than ever now, stick together in whatever ways we can. reach out to those mutuals you like who really agree with you and vibe with your beliefs and want to make sure you're doing okay. stick with people who have similar identities and find others and the communities they frequent. if the surface level of tumblr isn't for you, which i agree can be scary, you can also try communities on reddit like r/FTM, r/MTF, etc., you can try instagram, or whatever other social networks youre on.

you can also always try to find something IRL. IRL meetups are almost guaranteed to be less hostile. i recommend looking for "pride group in my area" "gay/straight alliance in my area" "lgbt group in my area" "queer pride in my area" etc. to see if there's anything at all in your local community. colleges often have them open to the public. good luck, you're not alone in feeling exhausted and alienated. it's rough right now, but sticking together with other queers is the key. stay safe for now.

I think it's interesting that the trans women who adamantly deny male socialization mostly talk about experiencing dysphoria, or not liking male expectations. Like it's fine that the word is poisoned for them and they dont want to engage with it but they are objectively just not engaging with what it means to be socialized. For me, female socialization was growing up and seeing my female family members be expected to cook/clean at family events, seeing my male relatives get straight up drunk and watch movies that my grandma asked them not to (she doesnt like hearing violent movies), and being judged for not helping with cleanup. Now I do help, mostly because I feel bad seeing my grandma struggle with it, but there's so much dysphoria that comes with it because I know that if I was a Man Raised Man or whatever the fuck I wouldnt have this expectation and it probably wouldnt even occur to me (my little brother doesnt lol). I think trans women actually do, even pre transition, have a more complicated relationship with these sorts of things than a cis man would but like, idk, how many trans women were as children raised to believe theyre terrible and evil for not wanting to clean up after their male relatives, and told that the best outcome they can expect from life is to do this labor for many kids and grandkids and when they die, they'll be remembered as "nice" and "a good mother". Now I'll be remembered as a bad child and fundamentally unnatural. And thats not to say trans women dont face gendered abuse as kids but I think it is different and a lot are viewed as like, freaks for maybe wanting to help in the kitchen instead of chillin with the Boys™. And many also wrestle with like, wanting to be perceived as a woman but not wanting to have to be the free maid service. I have to wrestle with not wanting to abandon all the work to my female relatives but also not wanting to be the maid and also knowing that the more I help the more I'm viewed as female. I guess this got rambley but I just want it to be clear that I do think transfems have interactions with socialization that are unique to them, as do transmascs, and individual cis people, etc, but its weird to insist that the closeted transfem experience is basically the cis girl experience plus being treated as an undesirable third gender, and that transmascs have a better childhood experience than cis women.

Soul-gender. Everyone recognizes someone is really a girl from birth but says they're a boy out of sheer meanness.

And yes, they very deliberately talk past what people are actually saying about socialization to take "trans women are generally expected to grow up as boys" to mean "and that means they've programmed to be Evil" because that's how TERFs use it. Meanwhile they fully accuse transmasc and non-binary people of having one single default experience during childhood that's made them all hate trans women to the point of needing to start a brand new separatist movement over it.

Why do you consider it a problem that I'm nonbinary? Like seriously, how does it harm you, what is your problem with it? It's literally something I didn't choose, I realized I was genderless (or possibly became genderless) through my relationship with the goddess Hel. I'm a victim of the patriarchy too, I've had many of the terrible interactions with men that you have, I have the same trauma as you regarding growing up in a patriarchal world, so why do you advocate agaisnt my rights instead of for them? It’s literally that I just don’t agree that gender should be a social definition. I don’t understand what makes your brain non-binary and mine a woman. Is woman a set of social characteristics and a social identity? It’s straight up misogyny and regressive as hell.

Conservative men hate you for being non binary because you dont conform to THEIR socialised version of womanhood (assuming you’re afab), and I simply couldn’t care less. You should be able to call yourself any name you like, look how you want etc. But why are we defining man and woman as a social identity. I don’t identify with this, I’ve just lived it and so have you. Do you think the most oppressed women in this world identify with womanhood?

And you don’t have to reply to this, I understand that people who are similar to you will shrug off everything because being a terf is so so so controversial. I didn't say gender works separately from race, just differently. As I said, a White person is always White and a PoC is always a PoC, and that's a binary under White supremacy. People hate trans women and trans men for the same reason, they're doing the same thing, i.e. rejecting their AGAB. The cishetpatriarchy thus does not extend anything like the same benefits to trans men because of that. You being a man is therefore not equivalent to me being White. That doesn't preclude race and gender interacting.

I am a OSDD-1a system, our system was formed from trauma (traumagenic) and are questioning neurogenic. We're polymedian/polyfaceted (medianflux), factive + fictive heavy, and fixabased. We are collectively agehazy, aroace, fictorose, sex + romance repulsed and aroace4aroace.

We use I/me and we/us interchangeably, although usually in conversations I/me is used unless we are specifically talking about our system. You can refer to us as alters, headmates or facets.

Preferably do not ask who is fronting, since most of the time we don't know either. So unless you are okay with the answer being "idk" most of the time do not ask.
