The BDS movement is dominated by privileged white people who falsely claim to be doing what Palestinians want them to do, and when self-described Palestinians tell them they are wrong, they ignore them.

Mathlouthi did end up performing in Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Ramallah - and those concerts, for some reason, were considered "normalization" with Israel:

The best possible anti-Israel spokesperson - attractive, talented, and immensely popular - is being canceled for being insufficiently anti-Israel.

 When a movement is built on hate, it eventually falls apart because the members start hating each other for not hating enough.

I don't know if this is just in my country specifically or not but...

Recently I've found out that people are talking about depression as if it's an achievement. Like,I've seen people joking about it. I've heard them admitting to having been diagnosed with it when in reality they have been NOT. I've heard them being proud of it and bragging that it's 'cool' and 'it gives us an excuse to (do something or not do something) yada yada'. Point is....when did it become normal to be joking about a sickness. Last time I checked being suicidal was a serious issue and tbh was punishable by law. It's scary how today's youth treats some of the sicknesses and mental issues in particular. It's like you can't tell others that you're sick and suffering because you know the immediate response would be like 'Yeah I know bruh I am as well. It's pretty cool dawg, you should be proud of it too. Oh and btw you should focus on me and what I have to say'.

I don't know whether it is to seek attention or just pretend to be cool or something but I don't think this behaviour is okay or normal.

If you don't know what the word depression or mental issues means or are not knowledgeable enough to handle such situations then do stay silent.

Random writing tips that my history professor just told during class that are actually helpful

Download all your sources or print them so you can turn off your wifi

Give your phone to someone

Just. WRITE. Writing is analysing, you’ll get more ideas as you write. It doesn’t need to be perfect, for now you can just blurt out words and ideas randomly. You can fix it later.

Create a skeleton/structure before writing.

Stop before you get exhausted. It’s best to stop writing when you still have some energy and inspiration left, this will also motivate you to get started again next time.

Make a to do list

Work in bite sizes. Even if it’s not much, as long as you put some ideas on paper or do some editing.

Simple language =/= boring language, simple language = clear language.

Own your words. If they are not your words, state this clearly in the text, not just in the footnotes.

STOP BEFORE YOU GET EXHAUSTED. Listing it again because it’s easily one of the best tips a teacher has ever given me.
