alr tumblr. i dont have a drawing for today but i can share my headcanons :3

im having to overanalyse all of uno's official arts to work over them for the animation cuz im really enthusiastic about it

so, we all know his annoncement trailer he was kinda......big up there (its inherited from me :3)

now, onto his release art/lore art

we can see his chest symbol, its kinda small and it points middle-down

but then his symbol goes straight onto his chest, which is confirmed by his ref sheet

so heres the deal:

i dgaf about the mobile lore but from the crumbs of uno existence i've read onto sieg T lore, highlanders can pretty much regenerate their body very easily

except that

highlanders are pretty much human-looking guys and not...elf ears and symbols onto their chests backs eyes neck-

so, uno being a defective highlander, and a literal newborn, being weak and not knowing what to do better

and his body trying to regenerate and re-create his chest, ended up deforming his chest symbol, which also ended up covering his possible scars

Random Agent Washington Headcanons

Wash is the son of Leonard and Allison Church, making him the little brother of Carolina.

When he comes out to his father about liking boys as well as girls(omnisexual pride), his father pulls an uno reverse and says ‘Me too’. They never talked about it again.

Wash is trans masc, and he gets really nervous about his gender identity during Project Freelancer. Everyone is chill with it, but his brain kept being like ‘what if your boss is transphobic??’ His boss is his dad,,, his birth dad that was there to see him being born and accepted him as his son and helped him get on hrt.

Wash has a mullet. He says it’s because it’s one of the few things he could control during Protect Freelancer. While true, he also just thinks it looks cool.

No one knows what his natural hair color is. The top is blonde, and the bottom is black. It’s always perfect, and no one ever sees him either bleach the top or dye the bottom.

Wash begins graying early. It’s a trait given to him by his father. He doesn’t mind it much since he already dyed/bleached his hair pretty often. It’s not much work to cover up

Wash needs glasses. He will deny this fact, even as he’s struggling to see things nearby. Eventually with some pushing from his sister, he gets contacts.

Wash is autistic. He does his best to mask during serious situations, and he struggles to unmask, leading to burnout. He feels like he’s just going through the same motions because he has to.

If someone notices he’s experiencing burnout, they will pull him away from whatever meaningless task he was doing to recharge. Most of the time, Wash recharges during Donut’s daily wine and cheese hour or doing whatever Caboose wants to do.

Major cat person! Wash loves cats so much. When he retires, all he wants is a bunch of cats in his home. Which he does have, but he also gets a service dog to help him with his PTSD and other issues related to his disabilities

this should surprise no one. hes my magical little guy. so charming and fun and he gets a cool song and dance. he's never been played by a straight person he's winning

someday if im lucky ill be just like him. hes such a solid and comforting presence on stage and he gets all the best character interactions.

3.Demeter

she's just,, like,, idk she grows on you. she's so important but so unseen, she's yellow! i really don't know what it is, but I couldn't put anyone else in the top 3 ok. I love her choreography and the way she's so contrary and captivating.

4. Skimbleshanks

he was my og fav when I watched for the first time and I'm always happy to see him :))). i love his song and his little vest and the way he moves, as it's a little different compared to the rest of the cats. also i love trains

5. Macavity

tbh this one really just comes down to the musical-esq silliness of him. like hes so glittery and everyone yells his name when he shows up, and he does little ballet twirls, but also he's so so evil. also obsessed with productions where he beats munkustrap's ass lmao

6. John Partrid--- I mean uh The Rum Tum Tugger (or rocky tam tam if ur french)

look, just, that's a man. an attractive man in tight black clothing who just moves his hips like crazy. but also hes like a pillar of the community and hes so goofy and fhueujfhsjkdafhajks. Never have I known a character that could steal Hua Cheng's line about sincerity and have it fit so well. tbh I could probably put him higher on my list, just due to the sheer amount of thoughts I have about him, but I'm not a basic bitch.

7. Tantomile

love the idea that a cat is psychic, love her makeup and choreography. I always watch how she interacts with other characters, and her presence on stage is always so good

8. Coricopat

they can't be separated. anyway i like him for many of the same reasons I like Tantomile, but he's lower on the list bcuz idk vibes ig? I just love the both of them as an element to the tribe ya know?

9. Bombalurina !

obsessed with her complex portrayal of female sexuality, she's always got such a good voice, her relationships with other characters is fucking fantastic. the only reason she's not higher on this list is bcuz i don't personally relate to her that much, but she's just such a good character ;-;

10. Jemima

i just love her ok. I love the way she fits into the community and how her few moments in the spotlight hold such significance. i love the moments she gets with victoria, and i just think shes neat. a very good manifestation of the expression "from the mouths of babes"

For the purposes of full disclosure, my lack of surprise over the information provided by the investigators from PI Labs was, in part, secondary to an angry outburst by Ingeborga back in January.  When I confronted her at that time with my concerns and suspicions backed by hard evidence, Inga typically employed the "falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus"  strategy.  This simply means that Inga would look for a flaw or inaccuracy in the evidence I provided and then attempt to discredit the entire array of facts because of an omission or minor error.  As a result, Inga angrily accused the investigators of not being thorough when announcing she was divorcing Denis.  It was not clear to me at the time if that was just an angry, knee-jerk response by Inga to reinforce her previous claims that she did not have a close relationship with Denis or if there was some truth in her assertion.  It also caused me further confusion over the events of the previous few months.

Flashback to Sam Spade...

From the end of my calamitous video call with Inga in January up to the point of receiving confirmation of her divorce, I could not make any sense of the actions of Inga and Denis.  If I accepted Inga's explanations on their face, discounting all the historical lies,  I would come away with the understanding that Inga and Denis were married and living together in a sexless marriage.  Inga implied that both had sexual interests outside their marriage.  The implication was that theirs was a marriage of convenience or, at least, one without a lack of inertia to change conditions.  Inga began communicating with me extensively and, from her actions, there was an impression she was hiding this from Denis.  However, I was supplying Inga and Eva with gifts and Denis assisted in the collection of the various parcels mailed.  If Denis was not aware of my involvement with Inga, why would he be assisting her?  When I met Inga and Eva in St. Petersburg, how was this meeting explained?  If the marriage of Inga and Denis was in name only, why would Inga be a cosigner to a significant mortgage loan and then become the petitioner for divorce on the heels of that?  What was really behind Inga's withdrawal and change in attitude toward me in November and December?  In all of this I still could not rule out that there was underlying criminal activity on the part of the Reshetnikov family.

It all reminded me of Sam Spade attempting to unravel the machinations of the various parties seeking The Maltese Falcon.  At one point in the film, Spade relates his doubts to Brigid over the actions of Joel Cairo.  Spade replies to the apparent confusion of Brigid concerning his questioning Cairo's motives by stating, "Because, my own true love, I've got to keep in some sort of touch with all the loose ends of this dizzy affair if I'm ever gonna make heads or tails of it."  In my interactions with Inga, it was all a dizzy affair.

Let's cast a line and see if they are biting...

I was determined not to tip my hand that I had acquired Inga's divorce along with the nature of the murky terms associated with the dissolution of her marriage.  Some bargain was struck but my past experiences with Inga taught me that unless details could be discovered by the private investigators, Inga would not be the source.

As Winter 2022 relented in Pskov and Spring finally made an appearance (about June in Pskov), Inga expressed her relief at the arrival of warmer weather.  Our conversations were less of war-related news, as this became a contentious topic.  Frequent, daily messages were still of an unimportant character with the exchange of pleasantries related to the weather and plans for the day and then the weekend.  Inga frequently wrote of plans to meet with one friend or another and then wrote of sudden changes to their plans.  These last minute cancellations left her at home, looking for movies, preferably in the Horror genre.

I mentioned to Inga that my work-related contracts would likely be ending in Autumn.  I was giving consideration to scaling back my work hours in preparation for retirement.  I wrote of my ambivalence regarding full retirement as I was concerned about boredom.  However, I had been entertaining thoughts of either a fill or part-time life in Europe.  This opened a new line of conversation for us as we shared our thoughts regarding one country or another.  We both seemed to be in agreement about the virtues of Spain.  I had been seriously looking at properties in the Costa Blanca region for long-term rental or purchase.  Inga's interest was piqued with this exchange and expressed her interest in living there.  She wrote of having friends in Spain and that there were many Russians who had emigrated.  

I suggested to Inga that she inquire about a visa and consider a move away from Russia.  Perhaps the change in environment and expanded opportunities would serve as motivation for personal growth.  If she were to make such a decision, I would be supportive of her both emotionally and financially.  Inga related that she had a multi-entry Schengen visa but it would soon expire and Eva had no visa, which precluded any travel.  However, Inga seemed excited by the idea of a life outside of Pskov.  As I shared photos and real estate listings with her, she became even more enthralled with the idea.  At one point, I sought out a school in which Eva might be a good fit.  Inga stated that she would begin applying for visas.

Despite all of these discussions, I was acutely aware of the reaction of Western European countries, especially those in the Schengen Region, to the Russo-Ukrainian conflict.  Western Europe had all but shut out Russians with an interest to travel.  Visa requests were not being approved for Russian nationals.  In addition to this, if Inga were able to secure visas for herself and Eva, entry for the purposes of tourism would be limited to a fixed number of days.  This would hardly be an appropriate solution for emigration.  

Was Inga engaging in a new round of "Future Faking" or had I triggered a new grandiose fantasy?

What's the opposite of one?

From a math perspective it should be -1.

That makes sense but it's not very natural, -1 doesn't really appear in the world. (Antimatter can suck my balls)

So I guess the next best thing would be 0 since it can (arguably) show up naturally in the world.

Okay so 0 is the opposite of 1 in a natural sense. Cool.

But even still, if that's the case then 2 could be the opposite of 1. Because what's so different than having 1 thing? You could argue having nothing. You could also argue having 2 things. 3 things? No. That takes it too far. 1 is the individual and the opposite of the individual can't be the trio, it certainly is very different than the individual but not the opposite. The opposite has to contrast the original in a way that relates to the original but with a twist.

0 is nothing. Absolutely nothing. So the contrast of absolutely nothing should be absolutely something. And nothing gets more absolute than 1.

2 is 1 but doubled. 1 represents solo, the individual, the single isolated instance of something. So the contrast of the individual has to be the group, 2. But 3 is too much. 2 is the bare minimum to create a group but it is also the first to do it. It takes the solid, steel mountain of 1's individuality, and splits it. From then on splitting it is much easier and far less impressive.

So I feel like it's a scale:

0 is the closest opposite to 1, since it has the greatest contrast while also being related. 0 is the ether; emptiness and nothingness across an infinite time. And 1 is the something. The something that breaks out of that void and makes.. well itself.

Then it's 2, the second closest opposite to 1. It is very related to 1 and has some contrast. Having 1 of something makes it feel important, but having another of it breaks that importance. 2 breaks 1 by having another 1, a clever twist.

But I feel like if we got rid of 2 and just had 0 and 1 we'd be fine; the world would carry on. But if we got rid of 0 and just had 2 and 1? Then the world would be incomplete. It's just too drastic of a change. Which is why I think 0 is the greater opposite of 1. It just has a much more severe difference.

Tl;dr: All of this to say that the New York Times Daily Mini Crossword puzzle needs to stop giving out these vague ass hints like "what's the opposite of the card game Uno" 🤬

Dates- Our Dwaekki loves taking you on dates with loads of food or snacks. A typical Korean restaurant or even food stalls, he loves seeing you eat than to be broken when you might have some kind of sickness due to eating problems.

PDA = 5/10 why? Because he likes your opinion. He is okay with either if you insist on a particular one but slightly leans on less public knowing. Holding hands and probably hugging you wouldn't be a huge problem for him.

He is the type to get jealous very easily BUT wont admit it when you ask. Likes to braid your hair while learning from YouTube.. Likes to buy you so many colorful cute hair accessories. (loves your hair..)

Dates- we all know this guy is fancy so he likes fancy dates but he can also be the complete opposite.. Fancy~ maybe to a art restaurant or even on a fancy boat cause why not.. Normally though~ likes to take you to an art museum or at night to take you on the roof for star gazing..

Ruby Anne sat up in her bed looked around her room briefly, sighing and rubbing her eyes. After the little argument between you two, she had decided to take a nap, hoping a little sleep would take her mind off the subject. But it didn’t. Waking up only reminded her how painfully lonely she felt. Maybe the death of her mother had finally set in and now it’s hitting her harder than before. She needed... comfort. That’s something she didn’t think she’d need, actually. But, she did. She finally began to feel guilty about pushing everyone away. All they were trying to do was give her comfort, and make her feel like she belonged. But she refused to accept their help, and it ended up here; alone and depressed. She stared at the wall in front of her, determination painted on her face as she thought of a plan to start over. When she concluded that she would have to change her attitude and let the team help her, she sighed as she realized another thing she would have to face willingly: Tony. With a deep inhale, she got out of bed and put on some clothes and made her way down to the lab for the first time since the tour. 

You were in the living room with Peter and Steve playing UNO when you saw Ruby Anne walk down the hall. You 3 exchanged surprised looks, trying not to make it look obvious. You turned to look at them with your jaw dropped when you saw her go in the one way direction of the lab. “Is she going to the lab?” You whispered to them. They both shrugged and raised their eyebrows. You felt a bit of hope flashing inside you, but you couldn’t celebrate yet. You still didn’t know what she was going down there for.

To say Tony was surprised to see Ruby Anne knocking on the glass door to his lab would be an understatement. He quickly stood up, wiping his grease covered hands on a rag before motioning for her to come in. “H-Hi, come in. I was just working on some old suits. Got nothing else to do heh.” He chuckled awkwardly, leaning on a table. “Is there something you need?” To his surprise, he was pretty nervous, since Ruby had never come to visit him; let alone talk to him at all.

Ruby stood there, gathering her thoughts and sighing. “I guess.... it wouldn’t be so lame to go shopping... with you.” She said, shifting in her weight a bit. Tony stood there for a moment before smiling lightly, but deep inside, he was overjoyed.

“Of course, yeah. Let me just uhh let me just put on a clean shirt.” He smiles, rubbing his hands on the shirt that was muddied with dirt and oil. Ruby nodded and left the lab to wait for him. Tony’s smile widened as she left and quickly went to his room to get dressed, already planning on the many things he wanted to buy her.

A few minutes later, you see Tony and Ruby walk by the living room dressed up to go out. Your eyes widen in shock and you bow your head, suddenly extremely interested in all the little creases in the uno cards. As soon as the main door closes, you scream and throw your cards up in the air, jumping on the sofa. “ OH MY GOD THEY’RE ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING TOGETHER AND TONY WAS SMILING!” You squeal, Steve and Peter chuckling beside you and nodding. “Ooh! What do you think they went to do? They were dressed pretty casually, so you think they were going to the park? A movie? Shopping? I hope they went shopping. Ahh! This is so exciting!” You squealed.

“Okay okay, calm down, Princess. Things are looking good at the moment but let’s not get our hopes up so high right now. Let’s wait to see how it goes.” Steve said, smiling at you as he grabbed you arm to pull you to sit down. “Now. I’m going down to the gym, I give up this game. Peter’s clearly winning and I don’t want to be here for his braggy victory dance.” He chuckled, giving Peter a sarcastic smile before getting up to leave. Peter rolled his eyes and smiled. 

“Well, if I’m being honest I have a lot of work due by tomorrow so imma get started on it. We’ll finish this some other time when your brother’s not being a complete SORE LOSER!” Peter sang, shouting out the last part enough for Steve to hear. You snickered and nodded. “Alright. I’ll go see if Clint wants to play a little since he has no life.” You smirked, getting up and going to find Clint.

About half an hour later, you and Clint are still playing UNO and Clint was in the lead. I guess some of that “Steve’s sore loser attitude” rubbed off on you, because you were really considering cheating to get back to #1.

When Clint turned on the ground slightly to drink some water from his cup, you quickly leaned over to get a glance at his cards to see what color he didn’t have, so that you’d change it to that. But he turned back around quicker than you expected, startling you a bit and making you lean back and act as normal as you could. It was too late by then.

“Were you looking at my cards?!” Clint asked, his jaw dropping in shock and amusement. You quickly shook your head and denied it. Clint’s smile grew. “Yes you were! Oh you little cheater! Come here!” He growled, grabbing a hold of your legs. You screamed and began to resist, scooting away as much as you could.

“Nohohoho Clihihint!” You beg, Clint wrapping your feet in a headlock, making you very nervous. You didn’t really mind being tickled most of the time, but you hated your feet being tickled. It was unbearable. The team knows this, but it doesn’t stop them from doing it when they want to be evil.

Clint chuckles at your stuttered protests and tightens his grip on your feet. “This is what you deserve. I hope you learn from your sins!” He quips before mercilessly scratching his blunt fingers over your soles.

You shriek and thrash around as much as you could, kicking out your feet. You were in stitches in under a couple of seconds, cackling as he scratched under your toes.

“STOHOHOHOP IHIHIT I CAHAHAHANT!” You cried, rolling around to distract from the unbearable feeling. Clint chuckled and only shook his head.

“Oh, you can, y/n. If you had what it took to cheat, you have what it takes to take the punishment.” He smirked, scribbling his fingers over the arc of your foot.

Your hysterical laughter caught Wanda’s attention as she passed through the hall. With a small smirk, she entered the small reading room and approached your hysterical form.

When you noticed her presence, you immediately reached out to her for help. “WANDAHAHAHA! HEHEHELP ME PLEHEHEHASE!” You begged.

Wanda smiled sweetly, making you get your hopes up before saying something that made your stomach drop.

“Okay, I’ll help...” She led, taking a seat on the couch and lifting her hands up, twirling her fingers a bit. Suddenly, red wisps of power held your wrists down to your sides, unable to move.

“NOHOHOHOOO!” You cried, trying and failing to wrench your hands out of the hold. Clint turned to look at you and smiled widely.

“Yeheah! Thanks Wanda!” He cheered and turned around you target your hips. You arched your back with a loud squeal and shook your head side to side. If only someone could actually help you!

Your stomach began to cramp from all the laughter and restraint when Clint moved up to digging his fingers in between your ribs, ruthlessly tasing them. “Is there something you might wanna say y/n?” He asked. Wanda smirked beside him and used some of her power to gently swipe across your neck. You helped and erupted into louder giggles, trying to shield your neck but everywhere you’d recoil, it’d find another spot.

“YEHEHEHES! IHIHIM SOHOHORRY!” You squealed, praying that that was it. Clint chuckled and lifted up your shirt to blow a big scratchy raspberry on your belly. “AHHH!”

“Sorry for what? Huh?” He asked, shooting his hand under your arms, making you throw your head back.

“FOR CHEATIHIHIHING!! IHIM SORRYYYY!” You cried, falling into silent laughter. Wanda let you go with a giggle and so did Clint. You brought your arms to hug yourself and layed on the floor panting with your eyes closed.

“I really hate you both sometimes.” You sighed. Wanda stood up to crouch down next to you and poke your side.

“Oh, you don’t mean that.” She chuckled, before leaving the room. Clint was still chuckling as he helped you sit up a bit.

“Well, now that we got that corrected, I suggest we start over, since you’ve already seen my cards,” He chuckled, giving you a playful glare. You sighed and nodded you head, the both of you getting back in the game.

About an hour had passed and you had finished your game with Clint a bit ago, so now you were making yourself a sandwich with some Doritos when Steve walked in the kitchen. “Whatcha makin’?” He asked, circling the island to stand next to you. You finally finished with putting the other half of bread on top and bringing it up to your face a bit.

“A sandwich. With chips.” You said. Steve hummed and bent down to get a bite but you moved your sandwich away. “Nooo,” You sang.

“Just a bite!” He whined, attempting to bite the food again. You turned away to shield your sandwich with a smile.

“Your definition of ‘bite’ is shoving the whole thing in your mouth.” You chuckled. Steve sucked his teeth, trying to hide his guilty smile.

“Share.” He said, poking your side. You flinched and slapped his hand away.

“Don’t.”

“Then share!”

“You’ll eat it all!”

“No I won’t.”

“Liar. Are you hungry?”

“Yeah a little.”

“Then I’ll make you a sandwich.” You smiled, taking out the ingredients again.

“Yeah?” He asked with a grin. You nodded, standing a few feet from your plate. “Great, thanks! I’ll have a bite outta yours while I wait.” He smiled, grabbing your sandwich and taking a bite before leaving the kitchen.

“I-” You gasped, freezing in place as you watched him leave the kitchen with a smirk. You narrowed your eyes and groaned in mild annoyance before making his sandwich. Just then, Tony and Ruby came through the front door and you smiled widely. Ruby Anne muttered a small “Thanks.” to Tony before going up to her room to set the many shopping bags down. Tony approached the kitchen and you bounced on your heels excitedly. “So... how’d it go?” You asked.

Tony smiled, crossing his arms and leaning on the counter. “It was okay! She didn’t talk much but we went out together, did some shopping, so that’s a step; I’m proud of it.” He shrugged.

You nodded with a wide grin. “You should be. I’m so glad you guys did something together! Hopefully it’s not the last time.”

“Yeah, hopefully not. What’d you do when we were out?” He asked.

“Not much, just played cards with Clint and practiced some ballet for a few minutes. Then I got hungry so I made a sandwich and is I’m making Steve one, since he was hungry too.” Tony hummed and nodded.

“Alright then. Imma head back down to the lab, call me if you need anything.” He says before leaving the kitchen. You nodded and finished making your brothers food and called him down.

“STEVEN, YOUR SANDWICH!” You heard him faintly respond with a “coming” and you were about to take your plate and leave, but stopped in your tracks. You turned to look at his food before a mischievous smirk found its way onto your mouth.

With a giggle, you took a bite out of his sandwich to even the score and happily skipped up to your room.

The next morning, you, Peter and Ruby Anne go to school, and you notice that she’s wearing some new clothes. You smile and compliment her as you all walk through the halls. “I really like your outfit! It suits you.” You say. Ruby doesn’t say anything in return, but she smiles lightly and nods at you before continuing to walk to class.

“Hey, hey y/n!” You heard Jeremy whisper over to you from across the room. You sighed and rolled your eyes, ignoring him as best you could. You were starting to think maybe he did like you.

But why would he expect me to like him back if all he does is annoy the crap outta me?

“Hey, y/n/n look over here!” You kept your attention in the teacher, despite all the calls, texts, paper airplanes, notes, paper balls hitting your head. Your while desk was basically covered in paper balls and notes. You felt someone tal your shoulder so you turned around to see Camila, one of your classmates. She hands you a note and you take it and open it.

Look to your side

You turn to look and you don’t know why you fell for it, but there he was. Wiggling his eyebrows at you. “Hey.” He nods. You inhale deeply, showing your frustration and turn to look back at the whiteboard. You couldn’t wait for the bell to ring.

After what felt like forever, the bell rang and dismissed the class. You gathered your stuff and rushed out the room before Jeremy could catch up to you. Thankfully, Peter was at the lockers already and so was Ruby. You all met up and went outside to go home.

You’re home practicing ballet in your room when you hear a knock at your door. You get up from the ground and open the door. “Ruby. Hey!” You’re surprised that she’s come to your room. “Come in. Is there anything you need?”

Ruby steps in and she has a neutral expression in her face. Something different from the usual scowl or furring of the brows she wears all the time. A moment passes before she shrugs and speaks up. “I was uhh... thinking about what you said the other day. And,, I guess I have have been too harsh on you and Tony. And the whole team actually. You were right. You were only trying to help make me feel welcome. And I pushed you away.” She said, taking a deep breath. “So, with that in mind, I think it’s time I finally start letting you guys in, and pushing the grudges away instead. So. I’m gonna lit all this behind me and... hopefully you guys aren’t too mad at me to do the same.” She nods, staring awkwardly at the ground.

You stood there for a few moments, processing her words before smiling widely and engulfing her in a hug. “Yay.” You sigh. This caught her off guard, but eventually she returned the gesture, wrapping one arm around you and patting you awkwardly on the back. After you break from the hug, ruby smiled a bit before turning and leaving without another word. You stand there with a smile on your face. You feel good.

Things are finally turning around.

A few days have passed by, and you noticed Ruby Anne was a little more present around the team, actually going down to the table for dinner, even though she’d leave right after she’d finish her plate, and accepting your offer to hang out with Peter in your room. This was one of those times

You had a movie playing in the background while you and Peter were trying to decide on what game to play. Ruby was sitting in your bean bag a few feet away and you and Peter were standing next to your bed, a bunch of board games and cards laying on the mattress. After a small argument about which game to play, you both decided to pick monopoly and sat down in the floor close to Ruby. “Okay. So, ruby have you ever played monopoly before?” You asked. She shook her head and leaned forward to get a better look at the game.

“That’s ok. We’ll show you.” Peter said, smiling at her. She timidly returned the gesture and you both explained to her how to play the game.

The time flew by, you had finished your game of monopoly, ate some pizza that Thor brought home, watched half a movie, and now you were about to play another game.

“Ooh! How about we play twister? That’s always fun.” Peter suggested. You perked up at the idea. You hadn’t played twister in a looong time.

“Oh yeah but all three of us are gonna play and we need someone else to watch us and score.” You sighed. Peter hummed.

“I can score.” Ruby shrugged.

“You don’t wanna play?” You asked

“I’m fine for now. I can host the game if you want.” She said.

“If you’re sure, then sure.” You smiled, handing her the spinner. You and Peter stood on the mat, waiting for instructions.

You were now in the middle of the game, and you and Peter were tangled up in a knot almost. You were in a back stand and Peter was sprawled over you, one of his arms looping under you on yellow, and his leg curved under your knee. You were panting a bit, having to basically carry Peter’s weight on you while being in the uncomfortable position.

“Okay, Peter, your hand on red.” Ruby said. Peter groaned as he spotted the red dot on an almost unreachable place. He leaned over a bit, now mostly off of you and placed his hand in red. This caused him to almost tip over and fall. You giggled a bit at his attempt to stay up.

“Just give up Peter, you’re bound to fall. I, on the other hand, am in a stable position.” You quipped, tilting your head up to brag.

“Oh yeah?” Peter smirked, looking at you from upside down and using his hand to poke around your sides repeatedly. “Are you sure you’re stable?”

You squeaked and let out nervous giggles as you struggled to stay upright. Since your back was arched, your whole torso was stretched, making it more sensitive to touches. “Hehehey! No tihihickling, you cheheater!” You cried, dissolving into more laughter as he began you skitter his fingers over your belly. You squeal as you feel your arms become weaker and you start to tremble. Ruby smirks at the sight and shakes her head slightly. She’s seen the both of you get into these play fight almost every day since she’s been here. And if she’s being honest, it was pretty entertaining and amusing. Though she’d never admit it.

“Things aren’t looking too good for you, y/n/n. I see you’re struggling a bit. Why don’t you just ‘give it up’?” He teased, using your words against you. Fine, if he wanted to play dirty, so should you.

You lifted a leg, careful to keep your balance and pushed at Peter’s hip, to get him to fall. Peter chortled and resisted your push, sneaking his hand under your shirt and dipping his finger in your belly button. “AaaAhH!”

It took so much for you not you crumble up and shield your belly. “PETEHEHEHER!”

“I think I’m winning!” He sang, risking his position to move up and flutter his fingers in your neck. You screamed, unable to resist from crumbling down to the floor and shrugging your shoulders up. You were a giggling mess and instead of stopping, Peter continued. “Yes! I win I win I win!” He cheered, letting himself down from the position to continue attacking your neck. Ruby let out a small giggle at the whole scene, covering her mouth quickly when she did. Neither of you heard it, since you were to busy being tortured.

“OKAHAHAHAY, STOHOP IT!” You squealed, arching your back when he began to shake your ribs mercilessly. Your laughter went silent and your body instantly went in survival mode, slapping at his chest. Peter sat back with a chuckle and let you go. “Gohohod. You’re such a loser.” You whine.

“If I recall correctly, you’re the only loser here.” Peter smirked, giving your belly one last pinch before standing up and helping you up.

“Ugh... whatever. I would’ve won if you hadn’t cheaten.”

“I wouldn’t have cheaten if you wouldn’t have provoked me.” He quipped, smirking at your defeated look.

You decided to leave it at that and roll your eyes. “Fine. So, changin the subject, what should we do next? And this time, you gotta play, Ruby Anne.” You said, pointing at her accusingly, making ruby crack a small smile.

You played a few more games, making sure Ruby felt included in everything, and over the next couple of days, you three began to hang out more often, and Ruby started to become a regular in your friend group.

However, Ruby found that the more she hung out with you guys, the more she secretely started having feelings towards Peter...

Whenever he’d smile at her, she’d smile back openly. And she found herself feeling more eager to hang out with you both, because she knew Peter would be there. And now, when you and Peter would play around and be platonically intimate with each other, she found herself wanting that. With him. In a not-so-platonic way. And as if she didn’t already have 100 million things going through her head, now she had to keep her feelings under control around one of the people she sees most of every day.

On Ash (again)

Hey-so there's stuff going on with Ash again. She's said some racist against Asian COVID related things and the R slur on Discord(This is all stuff from 2018-June 2020). I was going to make a post about it but quite frankly, I got five hours of sleep last night and I don't have the mental capacity nor do I feel like, as a white woman, do I feel like I should try to explain it. I'm going to link the Twitter thread.

She also just did a livestream giving her side of things. I couldn't watch it due to having a session with my therapist at the same time(And my therapist kept mentioning how tired I was) but Twitter made it sound like it was a lot of excuses but that the protests one was anti masker protests.

Like my last On Ash post, I'm going to do a read more for my thoughts.

I'm disappointed in Ash making the Chinese/Asian virus jokes. Like, thinking back to February of last year, on of my biggest worries was that I had a long standing crush on a former professor whose family lived in South Korea(We stayed friendly after our class ended well over a year before then, I saw him on school breaks, long story but we still plan to see each other once it's safe) and since SK was one of the first places hit outside China, was his family okay? Were his in-laws? And Asian people around the globe were facing racism which was so beyond frustrating but I don't wanna dig up bad memories and possibly triggers for people and obviously, at the time, my heart focused on the guy I adored and his family.

And she was joking about bat virus soup and encouraging people saying "corona boy." I get that bats don't look appetizing and I agree entirely but that's when you don't say anything and respect people's culture. I think we've all done it. Especially at a sensitive time like that, you don't joke about that. I'm thinking back to me at that time and imagining someone joking about COVID and it seems crazy. I mean, I was naïve(Edited, the original word was ignorant but that has a negative connotation while I think very few of us had any idea how badly COVID was going to be in the west back in February) and wasn't seriously thinking it was going to hit the US as badly as it did but between Prof C and Kpop, I was thinking and worrying about it to some degree on a daily basis compared to a lot of Americans while she was joking about it and it's just... Wendy Character Info (01/03/2020 Update)

Below the read more is all the information I have compiled about Wendy to this point. Wendy is a work in progress OC and I would love to hear any suggestions you have about her :)

Wendy’s personality and appearance:

I’ve envisioned Wendy as the love child of Wednesday Addams and Robin Buckley. She has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. She is about 5′7 making her a great deal taller than tiny Lydia (only about five foot even). Aesthetic wise she is similar to Lydia but in a less dramatic/proper way. She prefers to wear pants and shirts rather than dresses, her hair is cut about shoulder length and usually tied up in a messy bun or ponytail. She likes to wear makeup and is actually really good at it.

Personality-wise she can seem intimidating until you get to know her, once you do she is the biggest softie. Wendy also is very funny and clever. She sadly does not have dumbass lesbian energy :(

In the relationship, she has all the brain cells when it comes to common sense. Her and Lydia are opposite kinds of smart; Lydia is book smart but Wendy is street smart. Her favorite class is psychology, and she wants to be a child psychologist when she grows up.

Wendy can be just as awkward and timid relationship-wise as Lydia, both are each other’s biggest fans, always cheering the other on. Simply because she is taller she will go to defend Lydia from bullies and assholes, but Lydia will always stand up for her as well..often just in more sneaky ways than Wendy’s bluntness. 

Family: 

Wendy is the middle child of Mr. and Mrs. Blackwood. She has an older brother named Levi that’s three years older than her and a younger brother named Silas who is the same age as Skye. The Blackwoods are Jewish and welcomingly invite Lydia to participate in their holidays. 

Wendy’s father is a pastry chef and her mother is a lawyer. 

Her family is very supportive of their relationship and is just happy their daughter is happy. They also know about Lydia’s family and is completely on board with that too. 

Information about how they started dating:

When Lydia and Wendy first meet they are a freshman in high school. They’re friendly with one another but not super close because they didn’t have any classes together. Freshman year that got put in the same chemistry class but Wendy liked to sit in the back because she has no interest in chemistry and would rather just doodle mindlessly. 

Wendy gives Lydia her number and the two start talking. Lydia, still upset about what happened at the dance with Claire is taking things slowly at first but the feelings are there. They start hanging out a lot more outside of school and being affectionate with each other in a way that’s more than friends, but still that blurry zone. Like daily Wendy will run up and hug Lydia or they’ll hold hands in the hallway.

During a strange three week period in October of the freshman year, Wendy tried several times to ask Lydia out, but Lydia being the dumbass she is had no clue that’s what she meant (referring to the “I like to eat dinner every night” text post). Eventually, Wendy gets tired of trying to be sly and flirty about it. They’re facing timing each other a few days before Halloween and Lydia still didn’t have a costume. She asks Wendy what she should be and that’s when Wendy says “my girlfriend.” The two started dating and ever since they’ve been pretty happy.

Information about their dynamic:

As I stated earlier Wendy is the smart one™. She is also slightly more confident than Lydia and often initiates them going on dates. Lydia is a hopeless, puppy-love, romantic. She will send paragraphs about what she loves about Wendy and Wendy will struggle to find words to convey anything about Lydia. It took Lydia a while to get used to this especially when she texted Wendy that she loved her for the first time and Wendy sent back “k”  until twenty minutes later when she responded a photo of a reverse uno card. Very on-brand for their joint sense of humor. Wendy can be romantic tho, and is emotionally intuned to Lydia, but she is a little worse at showing it than the very emotional Lydia. 

Lydia being super into photography has used Wendy as a model frequently and taken amazing photos, but the one time Wendy tried to get a picture of Lydia it looked like it was taken by a potato.

As expected Lydia is the one who will lay or lean on Wendy, but not to be fooled, every kiss that they’ve had Lydia literally refused to get on her tiptoes to reach so she just pulled Wendy down.

Random Tidbits:

As stated Lydia is very book smart, and when they have “study dates” it’s usually Lydia who is trying to focus but Wendy keeps trying to distract her and Lydia will eventually give in and give Wendy a kiss or attention.

Both LOVE attention and are not shy to tell each other. Being a middle child Wendy relates to the invisibility Lydia feels. It’s small things sometimes where one will say to the other “Hey I’m lonely rn can we talk, hang out, etc”

Wendy grew up as a dog person and hated cats until she met Lydia’s two cats. Wendy is one of the only people besides Lydia who The Kraken will voluntarily snuggle with. 

They go on really cute dates, but are also down to just lounge around in sweatpants watching cheesy movies in the attic.

Wendy and Lydia are always getting into trouble. Wendy nearly got fired from her job at the icecream shop because Lydia is always around, and when they close they always seem to be goofing off.

What’s the most memorable moment since your official debut? When I’m waiting for the doors to our first stage to open, in my heart, I was like: “I’ve waited for this day for a long time.” When I was onstage, and I saw the fans off-stage, it was very memorable. 

Please say something to yourself in three years’ time. Please do not forget your dream, do it well, do it happily, and do what you like.

Which aspect would you be the most happy to be complimented for? It should be the piano, I didn’t learn it formally and I relied on myself to find my way around. Now, I can even help the members to compose a song, and I can play simple piano pieces, so when the fans compliment it for me, I feel quite a sense of achievement.

What’s your greatest hobby in life? When I was young my aspiration was to be a pilot, so I downloaded a pilot simulator on my computer, and I love to play it when I’m bored in the dorm.

Which dish from your hometown do you miss the most? My mom’s Szechuan boiled fish, and my grandmother’s sweet and sour fish, it’s all fish related dishes, haha!

If you could exchange bodies with another member, who would you choose? Yangyang, our youngest, he’s especially naive, and really gets doted on by us geges, the feeling of being doted on is actually quite good.

What do you think is the most appealing thing about yourself? My performance skills onstage, my dancing, my singing, and what I look like when I’m happy.

What is the most memorable moment from your official debut till now? When our first teaser was released.

What is the most difficult thing you’ve encountered in learning mandarin? Mandarin has a lot of tones, and the pronunciation is a little difficult, but I think Mandarin is very interesting to learn, and I really wanted to learn it all along, so being a part of WayV is also a very good opportunity for me.

What’s your biggest hobby in life? Singing, dancing, and drawing, I like to use my pen to record what I’m feeling at the time.

If you can only bring three things when leaving home, what would they be? My phone, earphones and cologne. I like cologne very much, so I spray it every day, I like a neutral scent with a slight sweetness.

Which dish from your hometown do you miss the most? The food my mother makes, like Pad Thai (Thai stir fried noodles), Som Tam (Thai salad).

If you can switch bodies with one member, who would you choose? Yangyang, I want to experience what it is like to be the youngest brother in the team too.

What’s the biggest reward of attending “My Brilliant Master”? Us four “apprentices” all have different personalities, but after attending the show and getting familiar with everyone, we all got along and chatted together smoothly, and the three older brothers were also very considerate towards me. All the “masters” are also senior experts in each of their professions and special fields, so there can be a lot to learn from them about professional attitudes, which to me is something beneficial for life.

What’s your greatest hobby in life? Watching movies, listening to music, and recently I’ve been frequently sitting in the living room with my members watching TV.

Which dish from your hometown do you miss the most? I haven’t eaten home-cooked food made by my parents in a long time, so I miss even their simple stir-fried greens a lot.

If you could exchange bodies with another member, who would you choose? Yangyang, because he’s not afraid to watch horror movies. Even though he’s the maknae of the team, he dares to try anything and has a lot of guts.

From your first time attending “Running Man,” were there any interesting or unforgettable moments? The other hosts took very good care of me, so it was really fun during the shoots. My Mandarin is not every good, so I sometimes can’t Get their jokes, thus a lot of funny situations will occur.

What’s your greatest hobby in life? Exercising, listening to music. I get excited as soon as I hear music, and my youthful passion will jump out, totally immersing myself to enjoy the moment.

Who is the role model in your heart? Choi Yun-fat, because to me he is a good senior to learn from. (T/N: Choi Yun-fat is an iconic Hong Kong actor known for his tough and cool roles.)

Which dish from your hometown do you miss the most? My mom is Thai, so everything she cooks is delicious, and I also miss the pastries in Hong Kong.

What is the most memorable moment from your official debut till now? Before the curtains open on our debut stage, there is enough time for you to feel the atmosphere present, the waiting time backstage is very memorable.

If you were praised for one of your skills, which skill being praised would make you the happiest? Probably singing, I spend 50% of my energy on singing.

Who is the role model in your heart? My older brother and my father.

Which dish from your hometown do you miss the most? Dried beancurd rolls, it’s a Hakka dish, it uses dried beancurds, which are wrapped around shrimp and vegetables.

What is the most memorable moment from your official debut till now? The release of the dance practice version of Regular was extremely memorable, I will look at everyone’s comments, and I hope I’ll learn from everyone’s opinions.

If you were praised for one of your skills, which skill being praised would make you the happiest? I’m already very happy if someone praised me, if everyone recognizes my capabilities, I’ll feel very accomplished.

Who is the role model in your heart? He’s right beside me, it’s Li Yongqin gege, he’s one of my role models, his persistence, his readiness to face problems, and also his capabilities make him really great.

If you can only bring three things when leaving home, what would they be? The first one is a definite necessity, my phone, the second is prepared for my phone, a solar-powered power bank, the third is a hat.

Which dish from your hometown do you miss the most? I really like dimsum, but I miss steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce the most, I still drool when I think of it now.

If you could exchange bodies with another member, who would you choose? No need to think, it’s Lucas, because I have a smaller build, and I often only have to eat a little bit of food before I’m full, and was unable to try lots of food. Lucas likes food a lot too, and if I could become him, I’ll be able to try every dish on the table.

Which three phrases would you use to describe yourself? Cool and handsome at the same time, approachable, humorous.

Please say something to yourself in three years’ time. I hope that I can maintain my current attitude of treating it as both work and my interest.

As the team’s youngest, what are some benefits of interacting with your geges? In many aspects, the geges will just let me be/let me do what I want.

What are you obsessed with in your daily life? I really like to watch basketball and soccer competitions and watch racing competitions. In the past when I was overseas, I have driven a go-kart before, and I really like my feeling of speed

Who is the role model in your heart? Firstly it’s my parents, I want to become someone like them. And also every member of our team is my role model, as they all have different charms, and have aspects of which I can learn from.

If you could break through the limitations of time and space, what would you like to do and who would you do it with? I would like to go exploring by myself, and go to those places where people wouldn’t usually go to 

Which dish from your hometown do you miss the most? I miss any type of stir-fried food

A hard knock on my bedroom door had me looking away from my phone and sitting up. My mother stood in the doorway, giving me a fake glare.

“Get your butt out here. Everybody’s here and ready.”

Without a word I got off the bed, grabbing my phone and power bank before padding out of the room. I could hear them downstairs before I even made one step, being rowdy as usual. When I finally got there they were all surrounding the coffee table, grabbing at the containers of Chinese food laying about.

“Drop it, Uncle Myron. You know that’s not for you.” I said.

The collective turned their heads to see me standing there, everyone’s expressions shocked. Then all at once the five of my uncles were pulling me into hugs that were way too tight.

“You didn’t say you were coming,” Uncle Joseph said as they pulled away.

“She surprised all of us,” my mother chimed in.

They all turned to glare at me, but I just smiled and walked past them. “I finished work that I needed to be present for early and thought I’d just pop in. I’m going to be on a vacation for the next month.”

I was already sitting on the floor at the corner of the table with my container of vegetable fried rice when they sat down. Uncle Bryce tried to grab it and when that failed tried to go for the general tso chicken that was also solely mine; each time he got his hand slapped.

“A vacation? You?” Uncle Phillip scoffed as he shoved his nasty shrimp fried rice in his face.

“Yes, I take those sometimes. It’s been a while and even though I still have things to do, but nothing pressing and there’s a no project thing in place for the next month. I think it would be good for me.

I could practically hear my mother roll her eyes. “And Marcus made her.”

“Yes, and Marcus made me.”

They all laughed and poked fun at me because they knew better than anyone that I needed to be pushed to take a vacation sometimes. Even if I really wanted it or felt like it would do me some good I wouldn’t. Sometimes I got too worried that I’d completely slack off, which was stupid since I still maintained my schedule to get things on deadline done in the midst of every vacation.

Uncle Byron nudged me softly, smiling down at me. “Well, we happy to see you and that you’re relaxing. What are you going to do? Travel some? Never leave your bed?”

I shrugged, continuing to eat my food. “I’ll see what I feel like as the days pass.”

After that, we all descended into the silence that was eating and watching Shameless for the hundredth time. We all enjoyed the chaos that was the show and would always end up rewatching it when together or we’d watch the anime Hellsing Ultimate. Took us forever to start new stuff when hanging out.

Once dinner was over and things were cleaned up, Uno was the new focus. And as usual chaos and betrayal were the only things present.

“You can’t stack Draw Fours!” Uncle Phillip tried to push the cards away.

“Yes, the hell I can!” I said, blocking his attempt.

“Since when?”

“Since always. Just because you went elsewhere and got used to their weak ass rules doesn’t mean they fly here. Now pick up sixteen cards.”

Everyone except him tried to keep a straight face but ended up bursting into laughter. He was not pleased in the slightest, or that’s at least what I gathered from the deep-set frown he wore.

The game was getting more intense and I swore Uncle Bryce was cheating, but it mattered not to me.

Placing down the other five cards I had that were all different colors, but all the number three. “Uno. Uno out!”

I was the first to accomplish this and fist-pumped in victory, which just earned a whole lot of glaring my way. My mother even jabbed me in the side, which hurt like hell.

“Cheater,” Uncle Bryce mumbled.

“How?”

He shrugged. “I don’t know, but you did.”

“You’re one to talk.”

His mouth opened and closed as he seemed to get what I was implying. Glancing away from me he focused on the game, probably hoping not to be the loser as usual.

Sitting back I grabbed my pop from the table and watch is all unfold. My mother was hardcore glaring at Bryce, which meant she too was noticing something off about him. It would be hilarious if he was caught and had to suffer the penalty.

“So, dating anyone Kennie?” Uncle Joseph asked.

My face scrunched up and I eyed him carefully. He wore a blank expression, but it felt like he was up to no good. He was almost always up to no good. He was the class clown of the uncle collective.

“No, but she does think someone is cute and has developed a crush?” Mother said without even glancing my way.

“Where are you pulling this information from, mother?” I asked.

“Your face and the sweet boy who you were talking to yesterday. Same sweet boy from when I called and video chatted you a few months ago. He’s cute and seems to like you.”

If she didn’t always seem to pick up on things I would have been shocked by her conclusion. All of my life she’d been able to suss out things with ease and it was creepy then, but I’d learned to get used to it. Not like I lied to her about anything anyway. But I had to admit her picking up on feelings that I was just accepting made me feel awkward. Also the thought of Yoongi returning them.

“Sure. Maybe. I don’t know. I refuse to have this conversation.”

“Aw, why not? Don’t want to address your feelings?” Uncle Phillip teased.

Turning to the side I stared him down. “Want to discuss that time you and my mother dated when I was seven and eight? The thing you don’t think I remember?”

Both of them choked on air and their eyes went wide.

“How?” mother whispered.

I shrugged. “Not my fault you tried to sell that whole all of these are your uncles, even though two of them aren’t blood related narrative so hard that you thought sneaking around a curious seven-year-old would work out. Not like I would have cared, I understood the difference.”

Everyone had paused and the awkward silence made me laugh. It was so funny when they were all left so shocked that they couldn’t say anything. My daughter earned a punch to the arm from my mother, which stung for ten minutes after. Didn’t stop me from laughing though.

After they all took a moment to breathe and got back to their game. Just as my phone rang Bryce was found out and they were all yelling accusations at him.

I didn’t leave the room but curled up in the loveseat a tad farther from the main couch. Turning on my headphones I slipped them in and answered the call as they connected.

It took a second, but Yoongi’s face filled the phone. He seemed to be in a dance studio, at least that’s what I got from the large mirrors. Also the small glimpse of Jungkook being a dork in the reflection.

“Hey.”

He didn’t say anything, just squinted and looked behind me.

“What?” I asked.

“Are you not at home? That doesn’t look familiar and it seems darker than it should be.”

The realization that we hadn’t spoken much the past few days hit me. That and I’d only told Marcus and my boss that I was going to be leaving for Chicago.

“Oh, no I’m at my mom’s house. So, two hours ahead.”

Yoongi just continued to stare, his expression still confused. In an instant it shifted to a glare, his entire face becoming one he used when he was about to accuse me or someone else of something.

“You started your vacation early and didn’t tell me?” He sounded offended.

“...maybe.”

For the longest he just stared at me, his eyes narrowing so much that I wasn’t completely sure that they were open at all. But I could still see them scrunching up more and more, then opening wide again. He changed his strategy and then he was pouting, though I wasn’t sure if it was on purpose or not.

Everyone knew that the cuteness exuded was my weakness and were not afraid to use it against me.

“I’m sorry. I finished up faster than expected and decided to come home. I still don’t know what I’m going to do about the rest of the vacation though. Plus, plus only the people in charge of me know.”

He huffed but seemed to accept my response. The pout remained and I internally gushed at the way his cheeks puffed out but tried my best to keep it together. I hadn’t even realized I’d started smiling until he was smiling back at me.

“I feel like I could pinch your cheeks from here,” he mumbled. It was so low I was sure he hadn’t meant for me to hear it, which was backed up by his eyes going wide and him staring me down.

Keeping it together I tried to maintain the same face as before, not wanting for him to do that thing where he got shy and awkward. That always led to him to rushing off the phone and I wanted to talk to him. I’d grown used to calls or video chats almost daily when he wasn’t too busy.

“So, why’d you call without warning?” I asked, hoping his mind wouldn’t linger.

“Oh, I wanted to see if you ha…”

Before he could finish there was a scream from the other side of the living room that caught my attention. I’d been so preoccupied with him that I’d forgotten what was happening in the room.

Uncle Bryce was laying on the ground sprawled out as a bag of ice was being poured into his pants, he looked so distraught.

My eyes moved back to the phone and I smirked. “Want to see something equal parts funny and chaotic?”

At first, he looked annoyed, then curious. After a second he nodded and then I switched it to the other camera. He got the view of them shoving the last remnants of the ice bag into Bryce’s pants. His jaw dropped as he watched on.

"We're adults, how are we still doing things like this?" Uncle Bryce asked, trying to sound calm.

Uncle Phillip scoffed. "Yeah, we're adults so shut up and take your cold balls like an adult."

Trying not to laugh I switch back to the front-facing one. Yoongi kind of looked scared for a second or two.

“Why?”

With the straightest face I could must I said, “He dared cheat at Uno, he knew the consequences. He’s lucky it isn’t winter, or he’d be sitting outside in the cold for fifteen minutes naked.”

That did not clear his confusion.

“Why… what?”

I shrugged. “I don’t know Yoon, these were the laws they created when they were still in college. I merely abide by them.”

He went to speak, but then there was someone yelling in the background. If I’d heard correctly it was saying the break would be over in like three minutes.

Whatever he was going to say forgotten his face went neutral and much more serious. My stomach churned feeling so unsure of what he’d say next.

“Okay, I have to be quick. You have a month off and as you said no plans, right?”

I nodded.

“So, I know you’ve at least gotten a glimpse of your other work environments even if you haven’t worked there. And Bang PDnim and Joon were talking, which I overheard and now we’re wondering if you’d like to come here for a few weeks. Just to get a sense of the work environment.” He spoke so quickly that my brain jumbled the words and I had to take a moment to decode it.

When I caught up I froze a little. “Me in Korea for a few weeks?”

He nodded eyes flickering off camera and then back at me. “It would give you some more information before you make your decision.”

“Uh…”

A hand wave drew my attention to the collective, who was mostly still laughing at Uncle Bryce trying not to cry. But my mother was looking at me and nodding her head. I was confused and then she mouthed ‘do it’ and I understood.

My gaze moved to him and he was now standing up and standing next to Joon who was staring elsewhere.

“What happened to me not working much during this break?” I teased.

He rolled his eyes and grinned, his urgency gone. “It’s not even work. You’re not even bound to do anything, just hang out and meet everyone.”

I pursed my lips as if thinking. “Well, I’ve met two of the producers there and already have some complaints.”

“Hey!” Joon tilted closer to the screen and threw me a playful glare.

“I’m kidding. Sure, it sounds like it would be nice. I’d be traveling, exploring and still not feel so useless doing nothing.”

Yoongi smiled wide and Joon shouted yes before being scolded by someone that sounded like Hoseok. He turned to scold Yoongi too, after yelling a greeting to me from behind the phone.

“Okay. I’ll text you later and Bang should get in touch with you soon. Must go before Hobi throws my phone at a wall,” he rushed out while laughing.

“Okay, bye.” I waved and he hung up.

My mother was still staring at me, but this time she winked and gave a thumbs up.

Es muy temprano para publicar pero bueno, hice esto en relación al diseño de los padres de Delia y William con contexto y un algo de Info de estos mismos:

- Ámbar, es la madre de Delia y esposa de Arthur. Trabajaba como vendedora en un puesto de frutas que ella misma cultivaba, conoció a Arthur cuando pasaba por el muelle a dejar unos encargos, se enamoraron y concibieron a Delia, pero lamentablemente solo llego a criar de Delia hasta los 8 meses de nacida, debido a su desaparición cuando salía de un evento que tuvo con una amiga cercana. Su paradero actualmente es desconocido pero hay gente que afirma haberla visto en otros lugares del Sistema Lyliat pero ninguno se ha confirmado hasta ahora.

- Arthur, esposo de Ámbar y padre de Delia. Trabajaba como pescador, conoció a Ámbar en una de sus rutinas diarias para ir a pescar, después de un tiempo de conocerse se declararon mutuamente, fueron novios y finalmente se casaron y tuvieron a su pequeña niña (Delia). Arthur amaba a su esposa y a su hija demasiado, a pesar de que su expresión pudiese mostrar seriedad algunas veces, en el fondo era una persona que le gustaba mucho expresar cariño hacia la gente. Cuando su esposa desapareció, se deprimió terriblemente, su hermano Gerald lo ayudó a salir de esa depresión y se decidió por criar a Delia junto a su hermano y su hijo, William y además buscar a su esposa (tenía la corazonada de que ella no estaba muerta). Actualmente falleció de una enfermedad, a William sólo se le ha dado la noticia pero teme decírselo a Delia por el miedo a que esta se deprimiese horrible.

- Gerald, padre de William y esposo de Rachel. Trabaja como pintor, aunque aparte trabaja haciendo encargos en una pastelería. Conoció a Rachel en una fiesta, se enamoró de ella, ella le correspondió, se casaron y tuvieron a William, pero no duró mucho su matrimonio por que ella lo traicionó y se fue dejándolo solo con William (fue cuando William tenía 4 años). Arthur apoyo a Gerald en todo lo que pudiese para superar ese dolor terrible, logró recuperarse y crió a William junto a su hermano; aunque con el tiempo William, se volvió un niño muy cerrado con su padre, su tío y con la gente, hasta que luego cuando Delia llegó William cambió su actitud y se volvió más abierto con su padre sobre sus sentimientos por el abandono de su madre y los problemas con los demás niños, Gerald apoyo siempre a William y a su hermano en todo, para el su familia es su prioridad más grande. Actualmente sigue vivo pero está en un estado de depresión por la muerte de su hermano.

- Rachel, ex-esposa de Gerald y madre de William. Era estilista, conoció a Gerald en una fiesta a la que fue invitada por una amiga, cuando le confesó sus sentimientos, lo correspondió, se casaron y tuvieron a William, su único hijo. Después de un tiempo, abandonó a su marido y a su hijo. Sin decir nada y sin dar explicaciones solo se fue. Gerald no tiene el motivo del por qué se fue al 100% solo tiene suposiciones acerca de esa cuestión. Pero William por su parte considera que fue por qué no lo amaba realmente y quería usarlo.

1.- Sinceramente, quien más se emocionó con la llegada de Delia fue Arthur. Cuando la vio por primera vez lloro de felicidad por que concibió a una pequeña y adorable niña a quien crió con mucho amor. Gerald tuvo que soportarlo un poco por que después se puso a abrazar a todos y a agradecer demasiado por la enorme de felicidad que le produjo ese suceso

2.- Arthur siempre le da ternura cuando Delia sonríe o está emocionada, tenia un álbum de fotos desde que Delia nació hasta que ella se tuvo que marchar a la guerra.

Como algo extra:

- Cuando Delia cumplió la mayoría de edad, Arthur le enseñó defensa personal, y desde ahí Delia le empezaron a interesar las luchas(obviamente que William no estaba tan de acuerdo con esa preferencia de Delia)

- William sabe dibujar gracias a influencias de su padre, ya que siempre le había interesado aprender sobre el arte. Lo que dibuja más seguido son rostros o plantas. (Le gusta dibujar flores exóticas)

Bueno por ahora eso sería todo, perdonen si las ideas están un poco desordenadas, he estado con otras cuestiones y un poco con los nervios por que pronto se acerca mi cumpleaños y unos cuantos exámenes :,D

It's too early to publish but, well, I did this in relation to the design of Delia and William's parents with context and some info about them:

- Amber, is the mother of Delia and Arthur's wife. She worked as a saleswoman in a fruit stand that she cultivated herself, she met Arthur when she went by the dock to leave some orders, they fell in love and they conceived Delia, but unfortunately she only raised Delia until 8 months old, due to his disappearance when he left an event he had with a close friend. His whereabouts are currently unknown but there are people who claim to have seen it elsewhere in the Lyliat System but none have been confirmed so far.

- Arthur, husband of Amber and father of Delia. He worked as a fisherman, he met Amber in one of his daily routines to go fishing, after a time of meeting they declared themselves mutually, they were boyfriends and finally they got married and they had their little girl (Delia). Arthur loved his wife and his daughter too much, even though his expression could show seriousness sometimes, deep down he was a person who liked to express affection towards people. When his wife disappeared, he became terribly depressed, his brother Gerald helped him out of that depression and decided to raise Delia with his brother and son, William and also look for his wife (he had a hunch that she was not dead). Currently died of an illness, William has only been given the news but is afraid to tell Delia for fear that she was depressed horrible.

- Gerald, father of William and husband of Rachel. He works as a painter, although he also works doing orders in a bakery. He met Rachel at a party, fell in love with her, she corresponded, they married and they had William, but it didn’t last long for her marriage because she betrayed him and left leaving him alone with William (it was when William was 4 years old). Arthur supported Gerald in everything he could to overcome this terrible pain, managed to recover and raised William with his brother; although with time William, he became a very close child with his father, his uncle and with the people, until then when Delia arrived William changed his attitude and became more open with his father about his feelings for the abandonment of his mother and the problems with other children, Gerald always supported William and his brother in everything, for his family is his biggest priority. He is still alive today but is in a state of depression due to the death of his brother.

- Rachel, ex-wife of Gerald and mother of William. She was a stylist, she met Gerald at a party to which she was invited by a friend, when he confessed her feelings, she corresponded, they got married and they had William, their only son. After a while, she abandoned her husband and her son. Without saying anything and without giving explanations, she just left. Gerald does not have the reason why she left 100%, he only has assumptions about that issue. But William for his part considers that it was because she didn’t really love him and wanted to use it.

1.- Sincerely, the person who was most touched by the arrival of Delia was Arthur. When he saw her for the first time, he cried with happiness because he conceived a small and adorable girl whom he raised with much love. Gerald had to put up with it a bit because then he started hugging everyone and thanking him so much for the enormous happiness that that event produced.

2. - Arthur always gives tenderness when Delia smiles or is excited, had a photo album since Delia was born until she had to go to war.

As something extra:

- When Delia came of age, Arthur taught her self-defense, and from there Delia began to get interested in the fights (obviously William did not agree so with Delia's preference)

- William knows how to draw thanks to his father's influences, since he had always been interested in learning about art. What he draws most often are faces or plants. (He likes to draw exotic flowers)

What is arthritis?/ ¿Qué es la artritis?

Arthritis: (noun) friend, enemy, part of your body, the victim, bully, strong, weak, ally or oppressor?

We talked a lot about arthritis in this blog: about what it is, how it affected me and how you need to take of yourself if you have it. But we never really started how we should have, in the "Tutorial" section of the game. Which is why this post today will bring you your daily dose of facts and nerdiness to further explain a couple of key points:

   1. What arthritis is?    2. Who has arthritis?    3. How do you know you have arthritis?    4. Where does it come from?    5. How can you treat it?

Don't worry! Each of these will be short and simple, just like they should be. No medical terms or bad internet connection is going to stop me from delivering the truth to the masses!

And now, without further ado, here we go: What is arthritis?

What is arthritis?

"So.. What is it? What is it?!"I see you yell at your computer screen.

I understand that need for an answer. When I first got diagnosed, being told I had arthritis was relieving for 5 seconds, until I realized I had no clue what I was facing and what was causing this.

Well here is your answer, pal! Grab that popcorn!

Arthritisis a symptom of joint inflammation and stiffness that may develop from a completely separate illness or may be independent as a medical disorder. If it is a disorder, it means that there is a chemical disbalance in your body that chronically or temporarily causes pain in your joints.

See? Simple.

Arthritis is what is known as an autoimmunedisorder, in which your body- aka your white blood cells and antibodies- basically attacks itself in a specific region, in this case, your joints.

There are two types of arthritis: systemic, which affects all of your body, and localized, which may affect one or a few joints.

Now, there are more than 100 types of arthritis and arthritis-related conditions. Next up,  a speedy round of the most frequently found types of arthritis in the USA and the UK:

   1. Osteoarthritis:your bones and cartilage are compromised and damaged by breaking of the joint, caused by aging.

   2. Rheumatoid Arthritis (hi!):your immune system attacks itself, targeting your joints.

   3. Psoriatic Arthritis:similar to rheumatoid arthritis, with the addition of itchy red patches on your skin known as psoriasis.

   4. Gout:a very painful form of arthritis, which basically collects uric acid crystals in your joints.

   5. Juvenile arthritis:similar to rheumatoid arthritis, only that it specifically refers to those patients that are diagnosed before the age of 16 years old.

There are other autoimmune conditions like lupus and fibromyalgia, which are similar to arthritis. However, here we are generous and we share, so they will have their own informative posts soon :)

Who has arthritis?

In one of my first posts, we discussed how people with arthritis come from so many different walks of life and that, because it is an "invisible illness", it is very hard to tell if someone has arthritis just by looking at them.

We also noted that some types of arthritis (like osteoarthritis and lupus) tend to be more common in certain age groups (elders and young adults).

A study by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) concluded the following after a two-year study of the American population from 2013 to 2015:

       ○ 49.6% of people with arthritis are elderly people        ○ 26% of people with arthritis are women        ○ 4.4 million with arthritis are Hispanic, followed closely by Caucasians        Basically, I fit into almost all the categories, thanks to life. At least I still consider myself young. For now.

This pattern repeats itself across specific types of arthritis. If you do fit these criteria, it's better to do a checkup and seek early treatments. Before it's too late, people!

How do you know you have arthritis?

You can't until it's too late! We're doomed! Bye!

Just kidding. The first step is seeking is, obviously, a doctor if you feel pain constantly, weaker than usual or just not well.

The doctor (seek a rheumatologist for joints specifically) will most likely begin with a normal checkup and an initial joint evaluation. They will examine your hand, knees and feet, and perhaps, arms and legs. They will look for clues such as visible swelling, stiffness or redness.

After that, they may or may not ask for a blood test or an X-ray, depending if they suspect the presence of arthritis in your body. Normal blood test indicators for arthritis are Sed rate (or erythrocyte sedimentation rate or ESR), C-reactive protein or elevated antibodies. If these three are elevated, then there is a fat chance that you have arthritis and it is inflaming your joints right now.

X- rays are mostly to visualize joint damage. Ultrasounds or MRI may show the loss of tissue, fluid accumulation in the joints, etc.

Warning:Doctors will begin treatment rather quickly when arthritis is detected in the slightest. This is because arthritis doesn't play: it gets worse and worse unless you apply anti-inflammatories asap. This is not harmful to you or your health at all, the doctor is only trying to avoid further damage from happening. Of course, further checkups and tests will give you plenty of time to discuss alternative treatments with your specialist.

Where does it come from?

Nobody knows. That is the right answer this time.

Some medical professionals believe that arthritis is caused by genetic mutations that may or may not hereditary. It has been proven by research that arthritis, in comparison to other autoimmune disorders like Type 1 diabetes, is not as hereditarily transmissible as it once was believed to be.

The class II genes, HLA–DR1 and HLA–DR4, are the ones now being investigated and partially blamed to be primary suspects.

However, many believe that lifestyle and environmental conditions can increase the chances of having arthritis. After all, stress, long work hours, pollution, low, and mental illnesses tend to go hand in hand with arthritis patients.

So do not worry that much yet. But always stay ready!

How can you treat it?

I have talked about these two already:Ibuprofenand Paracetamol, queens of the universe, saviors of today and tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow….

You get the point. Normally, if a doctor detects arthritis, they will right away prescribe paracetamol. This is because ibuprofen and other NSAIDs are very common allergens that may be risky to give to a new patient right away, especially when they do not have a complete medical record.

So, if your doctor gets suspicious and gives you a high brow, just take the paracetamol as instructed, inform them of your progress and come back later if you need to. Don't go through the pain without any help! It will only get worse! Trust me!

Entiendo tu necesidad de una respuesta. Cuando a mi me diagnosticaron, el diagnóstico definitivo de artritis me dio tranquilidad por 5 segundos, hasta que me di cuenta que no tenía ni idea de qué estaba enfrentando y qué lo causaba.

Bueno aquí están esas respuestas también! Agarra tu canchita!

La artritis esun síntoma de inflamación articular y rigidez que puede desarrollarse por una enfermedad totalmente diferente o puede presentarse de manera independiente como una condición médica. Si es una condición, significa que tu cuerpo tiene dolor crónico o temporal articular.

Ves? Eso fue fácil!

La artritis es una condición autoinmune, lo que significa que tu cuerpo- tus células blancas y anticuerpos-  básicamente se ataca a sí mismo en una región específica, en este caso tus articulaciones.

Hay dos tipos de artritis: sistémica, que afecta todo tu cuerpo, y localizada, que puede afectar una o más articulaciones.

Ahora, hay más de 100 tipos de artritis y condiciones relacionadas. Proseguiremos con una ronda rápida de los tipos de artritis más frecuentes en los Estados Unidos y en Gran Bretaña:

Osteoartritis:tus huesos y el cartílago están comprometidos y dañados porque la articulación se está deteriorando, es causado por el envejecimiento.

Artritis reumatoide (hola!):tu sistema inmune se ataca a sí mismo, atacando tus articulaciones.

Artritis psoriásica: similar a la artritis reumatoide, pero también incluye ronchas rojas y picazón en la piel, una condición mejor conocida como psoriasis.

Gota:artritis altamente dolorosa, que acumula cristales de ácido úrico en tus articulaciones.

Artritis juvenil:similar a la artritis reumatoide, solo que es específicamente diagnosticada antes de los 16 años de edad.

Condiciones autoinmunes como el lupus y la fibromialgia son otros diagnósticos similares a la artritis, pero que aquí los trataremos con cariño y les haremos sus propios posts informativos :)

¿Quién tiene artritis?

En uno de mis primeros posts, discutimos cómo las personas con artritis tienen vidas totalmente diversas y, por ello, es muy difícil distinguir la artritis solo con mirar a una persona.

También vimos que hay tipos de artritis (como la osteoartritis) tiende a ser más comunes en ciertos grupos de edad (como los viejitos).

Un estudio por el Centre of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) concluyó lo siguiente después dedos años de examinar a la población estadounidense del 2013 al 2015:

49.6%  de personas con artritis son ancianos

26% de personas con artritis son mujeres

4.4 millones de personas con artritis son hispanas, seguidas de los caucásicos

En pocas palabras, yo califico para casi todas estas estadísticas, yupi. Al menos todavía me considero joven. Por ahora.

Este patrón se repite a lo largo de todos los tipos de artritis. Si crees que tu perfil es parecido a lo descrito, es mejor hacerte chequear y buscar un tratamiento temprano. Antes que sea demasiado tarde!

¿Cómo sabes si tienes artritis?

No puedes! Es demasiado tarde! Estamos condenados! Adios mundo cruel!Solo bromeo. El primer paso es, obviamente, ir al doctor si sientes dolor constante, debilidad o simplemente no te sientes bien.

El doctor (un reumatólogo es un doctor para enfermedades articulares) iniciará con un chequeo regular y una evaluación inicial de las articulaciones. Examinará tus manos, rodillas, pies y quizá, brazos y piernas. Se encontrarán pistas como inflamación visible, rigidez o manchas rojas.

Después de eso, te pedirán o no que completes un análisis de sangre o una prueba de rayos X, dependiendo si hay sospecha de artritis.

Los indicadores de sangre más comunes para la artritis son la velocidad de sedimentación or ESR, la proteína C reactiva o anticuerpos elevados. Si estos tres indicadores salen elevados, hay una buena chance de que tengas artritis y esté causando un proceso inflamatorio en tu cuerpo justo ahora.

Los rayos X se utilizan para visualizar algún daño articular. Ultrasonidos o MRI pueden mostrar pérdida de tejido, acumulación de fluidos en las articulaciones, etc.

Advertencia:Los doctores inician rápidamente el tratamiento para la artritis cuando esta es detectada, incluso de manera mínima. Esto es porque la artritis no es broma: solo se pone peor y peor si no aplicas anti inflamatorios de inmediato. Este tratamiento inicial no debería comprometer tu salud en absoluto, pues el especialista solo esta tratando es disminuir el daño lo más rápido posible. Claro que, después de futuras consultas y pruebas, deberías pensar y discutir con tus padres y doctor acerca de la posibilidad de tratar la artritis de otros modos.

¿De donde viene la artritis?

Nadie sabe. Esta vez si es la respuesta correcta.

Profesionales de la medicina creen que la artritis es causada por mutaciones genéticas que podrían o no ser hereditarias. Fue probado en múltiples ocasiones que la artritis, en comparación a otros desórdenes como la diabetes Tipo 1, no es tan transmisible por herencia como se pensaba.

Los genes de clase II, HLA–DR1 y  HLA–DR4, son los que ahoran están siendo investigados y parcialmente puestos como sospechosos principales.

No obstante, muchos creen que el estilo de vida y las condiciones medio ambientales incrementas las posibilidades de tener artritis. Esto es parcialmente cierto, pues el estrés, las largas horas de trabajo, la polución, la baja estima y las enfermedades mentales van de la mano con los pacientes de artritis.

Así que no te preocupes mucho de eso todavía. Pero siempre mantente alerta!

¿Cómo tratar la artritis?

Ya hablé de estas dos: Ibuprofenoy Paracetamol, reinas del universo, heroes del hoy y del mañana, y mañana, y mañana….

Creo que ya lo entendiste. Normalmente, si un doctor detecta artritis, prescribirá panadol de inmediato. Esto es debido a que el ibuprofeno y otros medicamentos no esteroideos (AINES) pueden causar alergias, por lo cual es riesgoso en un paciente nuevo sin un historial médico completo.

Así que, si tu doctor se pone sospechoso, solo toma el panadol como indicado en tu receta, informa al doctor de tu progreso y regresa más adelante si lo necesitas No vayas por el dolor sin ayuda! Toma el panadol por ahora! Confía en mí!
