I was extremely vindicated to learn Mercy was medical and extremely thrown but delighted to hear Augustine was also a scientist, but of course “handled the shareholders.” God. “You know the worst part? She cried. She and A—both cried. In each other’s arms, like babies. They were so fucking scared.” At which point I was overwhelmed because of course, of course, they repeat and repeat and the potential that Augustine and Mercymorn lived and died as A—and M—died? I must sit down. Things that I obviously think and will state here, once, but assume it is happening over and over again: Nona, I love you, I love you, I love you. Pyrrha Dve, I love you, I am free on Monday, I am free on Tuesday, I am free on whatever days I am not promising to Camilla Hect, whom I love and am free on Monday, on Tuesday, on—and Palamedes, you are nice too. Also let’s quickly discuss these 10ish chapters in whole. I have always been team Nona is Alecto in whomever’s body. And we stake out, here, that I’ll be assuming it is Harrow’s body and Alecto’s soul. This assumption driven a) contextually, we know this was supposed to a blip in Alecto initially and frankly it being Alecto’s soul makes the most sense, sorry to meta-game, but b) that John is talking to ‘Harrow’ but clearly reciting Alecto’s history, or his history with Alecto and c) the end of John 5:20/start of Chapter 7 demonstrates that we only get John-to-‘Harrow’ when Nona is asleep, suggesting a tie (ingenious btw) and d) Nona being mistaken for a fourteen year old reads much more strongly of Harrow’s body (angry gothic shrimp) than Gideon’s (which, at last update, was perfectly preserved, with we assume muscle intact). I further subscribe to the Resurrection Beasts are the souls of the planets and Alecto is the RB of earth. We’ll pivot from these assumptions as necessary, but here’s where I’ve hedged my bets! here it is, an extremely messy and incomplete word dump of nether headcanons. some points are explained in detail, some aren’t, and some might accidentally be repeated bc i made this over the course of Many Weeks inbetween classes n stuff

***just a heads up, this is like 70% fortress/bastion life just because i think it’s the most interesting. also i like piglins bc their update was cool and made me think about them a lot***

-winds are strong near lava lakes and they tend to blow towards the center of the lakes. wind can also be felt more strongly at some biome borders, like the borders between crimson forests and soul sand valleys or warped forests. this is all due to a difference in heat. crimson forests are hot, warped forests have no distinct feeling of temperature (very unsettling), soul sand valleys are cold even to human standards, wastes are pretty warm, the insides of fortresses are hotter than the air around them due to the presence of blazes and the closed walls no matter what biome they're in. basalt deltas are unbearably hot, even to some of the nether creatures

-the particles that settle in the biomes are blown around due to this wind. they fall as the hot air settles in to the colder environment. sometimes "clouds" can form when a lot gathers, and they'll settle in like dust or snow later in a "storm" (also the particles in basalt deltas that we see in-game are too heavy to float around as expected. they aren’t embers like those in the crimson forest, they’re literally just bits of rock. you’ll walk out of the basalt deltas looking very dusty and crusty KJHFDKJSG)

-earthquakes are devastating, being felt in every direction due to the cave-like systems. collapses are common because netherrack isn't very strong

-the nether is so echoey, it's a giant cave with lava lakes to help carry that sound even further. it sounds so eerie aaaaaaaaaaa. there are lots of noises that might unsettle you if you listen for too long. common sounds to hear are ghast cries, the sound of something collapsing (most likely an abandoned structure or some netherrack), and occasionally a strange chiming in the distance. some find the noises of the nether comforting [all of these are based on things i hear in the bg of nether music btw lmao]

-netherrack is just ever so slightly wet to the touch. there's lots of lava seeping through the cracks and settling in "moisture" from the heavy air

-wither blackens bones at the site of impact. piglins can sometimes be seen with one or both tusks black because of this, hoglins will be seen with them too, although it's less common

-zombie piglins can often be seen with overgrown tusks going into their skulls. if they arent knocked out of them early on, they'll just continue to grow. the zombie piglins are too mindless to bother trimming or breaking them, and they dont notice them growing in anyways

-striders walk on lava with surface tension, like water spiders

-baby ghasts sit in nests at the bottom of lava lakes :]

-baby ghasts are squishy. if you can get to them in the lava lakes without being hunted by the mother, they're a very popular delicacy lmao

-ghasts store hotter air in their bodies, which is what makes them rise. they have an easier time floating in colder climates since it requires less heat from them, which is why they're found so often in soul sand valleys

-blazes do NOT spawn from spawners, they are born out of lava by an unknown method. no one, including the blazes, has seen this happen and it is believed to happen below the netherrack where they likely emerge and float up to the surface. magma cubes also originate in lava, again through unknown means

-PIGLINS DONT BURN IN LAVA, YOU'RE ALL WRONG. EVEN YOU MOJANG

-crimson fungus hot and juicy. very good. warped fungus smells bad and feels pasty, but it can make for some neat desserts if you aren't a hoglin :D

-CRIMSON VINES HAVE BERRIES ON THEM SCREW YOU YOU'RE WRONG

-shroomlights can be eaten although it is not advised

-tea can be brewed from the crimson and warped vines :]  warped tea is very bitter and leaves your mouth feeling oddly cold, crimson tea tastes very uhh "earthy" idk the word i hate tea actually KJFHDSKJG. savory?? that's how you describe meat. uh. someone has to know what i mean, please tell me someone gets what i'm going for *$&#@(&%*($@&

-bastions and fortresses are fighting a war lost to time. neither side remembers what started this, but they want to see it through to the end

-piglin children like to steal bricks from fortresses to make the wither skeletons mad. this is why you can get bricks from trades sometimes JKFSHDKG

-piglins actually have pretty advanced technology despite the lack of redstone. this is hard to grasp for overworld travelers because redstone is the main source of anything technological, but piglins are capable of building complex lever and gear systems without it. my soul reasoning for this headcanon comes from a screenshot in minecraft dungeons, a game i have yet to play. but i will die on this hill regardless

-PIGLIN ALCHEMY, MY BRAIN IS MASSIVE

-the wither is an old legend, the stories circulate a lot around fortresses but creatures living on the outskirts likely havent heard about it. some view it almost religiously while others doubt the creature is real. piglins dont want anything to do with it because of the soul sand and wither skeletons arent willing to sacrifice their own numbers to create one

-rumor has it there is at least one nether star that exists somewhere in the nether being passed down in a family. the creature was rumored to be summoned ages ago, and the star has traded hands many times, sometimes violently. depending on who you ask, some will tell you it's a piglin who currently holds it while others insist it's a wither skeleton

-the nether has never heard of or interacted with the end, but some studying ancient culture may have heard a thing or two about it. they dont understand anything about it though. the endermen are of no help because nether endermen have not been to the end in a *really* long time (how old are they? haha well um they're Very Old), and only a few creatures know how to communicate with them anyways

-BASTION. COMMUNAL. SOUP POT.

-baby piglins are raised by the entire community, but their birth parents are still the designated "parent figures" and are expected to have slightly more responsibility than the others. however, if something happens to the young, it's taken as a community loss rather than a family loss. likewise, achievements are celebrated by all and usually result in a fun evening :]

-scholars or scientists from the overworld have a hard time getting information from bastions and fortresses because the fortresses aren’t willing to communicate with them at all and all the residents try to kill on sight. bastions are a bit more cooperative, but they’re tightly knit communities and they’ve very wary of overworlders because they tend to cause problems

-piglins are terrified of soul items in part due to superstitions, but also because they interact with the spiritual realm different than most creatures do. they are able to hear and see the trapped souls and often they are deeply disturbed by the movement of soul sand and the burning of soul-related items. you will very rarely see piglins out in soul-sand valleys. rumor has it this is where ancient wars were raged as well, so who knows what they may be seeing/hearing

-zombification is believed to be a disease transmissible to both piglins and hoglins. in hoglins it makes them violent towards any movement while in piglins it has an opposite effect, making them unaware of their surroundings entirely unless provoked. this has not been tested because they have no idea how to test it, but this is why piglins will run from zombie piglins. they are worried about "catching it" even though this has never been witnessed

-piglins have really dense bones. they're extremely hard to break, so breaking one is often seen as a death sentence. a piglin will hardly ever survive a broken bone due to the constant fighting in the nether (they will be unable to properly defend themselves), and the ones that do survive are celebrated

-because of the constant fighting, piglins often expect to die young :(  elder piglins are a bit of a rare sight

-piglins swim in lava, they are dense but not as dense as molten rock!

-wither skeletons do not age, and no skeleton children have ever been seen. even the wither skeletons themselves are unsure of where their numbers come from, but they are thankful for new warriors when they arrive

-there is no concept of time, seasons, day or night in the nether, as there is no sky. bastions have a sense of before/after, and they experience age and the passage of time in that sense, but they have no words for it. they have the young and the grown, new and old, future and past, but no specific "time" words

-fortresses have even less than this, since both skeletons and blazes do not experience age. they know past as in history, present as in what happens now, and future for what they have planned, but again there is no type of time in this language

-PIGLIN WRITING!!! it is largely picture based and appears very geometric/sharp! they often write on blackstone tablets with motlen gold ink etched in, but on rarer occasions they'll use strider string to weave "paper" and stitch in gold threads for the writing. this method is lava-proof and less prone to cracking, but it is prone to tearing, weathering, and it is very tedious

-wither skeleton writing is a derivative of the language of magic, galactic (the name is different but for simplicity this is what WE call it). this amazes scholars, because they can't figure out how a language believed to come from the end and a common nether-language both came to develop so similarly. those  familiar with enchanting or alchemy will find their documents very easy to read. they carve their writing into stone and may sometimes enhance the carvings with glowstone dust or even blaze powder from fallen members

-i got inspired by tumblr for these next few but anyways. piglin naming conventions are odd for overworlders. they do not have "names" when they are young, piglin names are actually more akin to titles for overworlders. a piglin who develops a skill young may keep that title for a while, or if something else significant happens later in life, they may become known for that instead. piglins with no title are referred to with common names (like how churches here call everyone brother) or they may be handed a title by a friend, usually something sweet/endearing or embarrassing JKFHDKG

-these titles translate horribly by the way *(&#$%&($&%^* this is why piglins usually have very strange two-worded names, or their names wont translate at all. yes this applies to techno if you were wondering for any mcyt ppl who read this far :P

-piglins like to dance :D  it's very for-fun, not exactly choreographed, and relies heavily on their hooves keeping beat on the blackstone of the bastions. young piglins will try to mimic them by simply jumping up and down and they usually fall over jkfdhskjg

-wither skeletons and blazes do not use names for eachother at all! wither skeletons tie that convention to the overworlders as well as piglins and do not want to associate with them, and both wither skeletons and blazes see no need for it since they never raise young.

-common dyes in the nether include the mushrooms for color, crushed wither skeleton bones for black, and a handful of the plant materials like the vines. gold is sometimes woven into important fabrics and used for accessory items, but quartz is also common to see as a more "laid-back" accessory

-MINERAL WOOL!! this is a real thing look it up JFKHDK it's pretty neat. it is made from basalt and it is EXTREMELY heat resistant! this is where most of the piglins wool clothing comes from. strider string isnt good for making large amounts of fabric, so it isnt used often

-hoglin/piglin hybrids, or anthro hoglins, exist. or they at least COULD exist. my reasoning is that pigs can be struck by lightning and be converted into piglins, so there's no real reason to believe that some similar process couldn't happen to a hoglin (probably not the same method, but ya know)

-h. hey consider this. anthro hoglins come about when hoglins spend too long in the soul sand valleys. they aren't avoidant of the souls, but they're unaware of the impact those creatures can have on their body and mind. this is part of the superstition surrounding souls in piglin culture; souls are transformative and can deeply impact the course of your life if allowed to enter your body. the rumored hoglin-piglins are a terrifying concept to piglins, and they have a lot of legends about them. piglins are a bit worried that the reverse could happen, making them hoglin-like, and suddenly they would become prey to their own people

-speaking of that, pigs seem to have some strange significance in the minecraft world. pigs and creepers are closely related (phylogenetically) [this headcanon is based on the fact that creepers are literally just messed up pigs in the game's code], and pigs are one of the leading cultures in the nether as well as a food source. i would suggest there could be worship of pigs seen in some cultures, but more than likely not because most people view pigs, hoglins, and piglins as VERY separate creatures despite their scientific relations

***everything below is headcanons that i’ve added after posting. i’ll randomly update it when i feel like it. everything will be added to the bottom, so there’s no particular order, and nothing above the line will be edited***

-piglins like to sniff! they sniff for a lot of reasons, but one very common one reason is as a greeting. it looks very funny to watch them greet someone who has been away from the bastion for a while or greeting a newcomer. it’s even funnier for them to greet travelers who are unaware of the sniffing

-since the nether is pretty dark compared to the overworld, if you were to take a nether creature and put them in the overworld, it would be pretty blinding. their eyes aren’t built for that environment at all

-piglin and hoglin eyes shine in the dark. the shine is an orange/red color

-blue fire is normally MUCH hotter than red fire, but soul fire is not a naturally blue fire. it is only blue because of the souls and has nothing to do with the temperature. it burns relatively cold and won’t hurt you

-it’s very strange to see a piglin off on their own. hunting and traveling groups always consist of at least a pair, and piglins like to stick to community so they dont normally live alone. a lone piglin is usually alone for a reason, and it’s probably not a very good reason

-snout block. this guy

it's made from young piglins pressing their snouts into freshly cooling stone, the same way humans press their hands into things like concrete :]

just makes the place look lived in and homely, and it keeps a memory of the young who have lived there throughout the generations

-while they have a lot of things in common, culture varies A LOT from bastion to bastion because of how spaced out they are (travel between bastions is not common unless the home bastion has been completely destroyed). everything from the style of clothing they use, the way they cook their foods, their dialect, their slang, and little changes in the way certain words are written can all be completely different. a piglin traveling too far from home might run into trouble communicating or fitting into a new home

MAJOR LEAKS SPOILERS/ READ WITH CAUTION

Update: after reading more theories from fellow RM bloggers, and sleeping over it one day, this entire chapter might be an april fools... Don't fully lose hope yet beautiful people. It's me just giving a review on a possible fake April fools chapter

After following this franchise since 2013, so nearly a DECADE. this ending is a pure disserve to the entire fandom. I feel like Yams has rushed it just for the sake of being done with the entire manga. So many things are left open, characters and their developemt are reverted back all the way to chapter 1 or are left even worse than that...

Mikasa’s worthless character development/ Aaronmika’s horrible toxic codependent relationship 

Oh honey... Let’s start with how horrible Isayama has treated her. We were all rooting for her, because we all felt like she was so misunderstood. She had a horrible childhood and imprinted on a guy who treated her like trash 99 percent of the story. And then, slowly but surely, she starts to realize she has to stop obsessing over him in the uprising arc with the help of a real man who treats her like a queen, more importantly, he treats her like a real human being. This man sees her for her abilities and that she has the power to be self dependent. She learned parts of herself, that she was able to work together with him like no one else could.  She learned parts of herself she was unable to do so if she kept obsessing about Aaron. All this love, care, mutual understanding and RESPECT these two shared. 

but...NAH FUCK THAT, right Yams?? Throw all this development away, all this bonding. Let’s make the main female lead even more yandere than she already was in the first season. Let her make out with his decapacitated head (like dude, this is also pure disrespect to Aaron’s dead body btw) and let her obsess even more about the guy who has treated her no better than a piece of toilet cloth 99 percent of the time. The guy who was never really appreciative in front of her for saving his ass billions of times, who always pushed her away, who yells at her and snaps at her whenever he can instead of reasoning and talking calmly with her in mature way. (EVEN PARODY YOUTUBE CHANNELS WHO DONT SHIP ANYTHING MAKE IT A TROPE WHERE AARON TELLS MIKASA HE HATES HER GUTS WHENEVER HE CAN) 

Then after all that, suddenly Yams tries to last minute persuade us Aaron’s always been head over heels for her???  He should have build their relationship better which he hasn’t even tried to do so... He must be thinking his fans are stupid for eating this from his hands.    

Like seriously??? What is this??? 

Isayama is just fully contradicting himself. It’s like someone tipped him off with a buttload of money for him to write Aaron like this to satisfy shipping needs and to cash in those extra money’s from it. Even if he tried to cater to Erem*ika, this is not how you write a loving and caring couple which people will root for. 

This next two panels just freaking infuriates me to the core of my soul. I can’t even describe how dissapointed I am with Mikasa. 

Why is she clutching that head so obsessively like that?  Why is she walking and turning her back away from her comrades? After everything they have done for her, after all they’ve been through?! After everything Armin has done? Standing up for Mikasa, beating up Aaron for hurting her. I feel like even Jean, Connie and Sasha have cared more for her in a healthy way.  Sure, Aaron cares for her romantically too apparently (What a twist Yams :)), but has he aided her to becoming a mentally healthier individual? Has he aided in her mental stability? The answer is a big fat NO!  All I see between these two after today’s raw Chapter’s are too Yandere obsessed individuals who have no clue on how to maintain a healthy relationship. 

Love should only go as far as the heart can endure and it seems like her character is not willing to be aware of that. Even Armin was able to let go of Aaron in those latest panels. Why does her entire character resolve around this guy??? I really do not understand. Her Ackerbond and her age is not an excuse for her to throw her life away like this. 

Shonen’s disgusting portrayal of women 

I’ve seen this countless of times in the many years I’ve watched anime. SasuS*ku from Naruto, Ichih*me from Bleach, Shinji and that oranged hair girl from Neon Evangelion.. Why do these women get decreased to simpletons with one single goal? And that is to obsess over a bland male lead who either treats them like trash or doesn’t notice them up until the last last chapter (LITERALLY WHAT YAMS HAS DONE). Some go even as far as the male leading wanting the kill the female love interest and yet the female lead is still in love with them???. It’s disgusting for him to write the MAIN female character this way. 

It’s dissapointing we believed in Isayama doing Mikasa’s character right. That she’s finally being able to let go of her codependency and to live for herself maybe live in Hizuru and find more about her roots???, but every single time she shows some improvement, it’s burried deep in the ground again by the Author. It almost seems like a lowkey kink of some of the male Mangaka’s to write about a girl obsessing over them no matter what. I see this so many times to the point that I truly stand behind it that some of them might have this fantasy. 

I wished he didn’t portray her last panels like this. Everyone else is living their lives while Mikasa is still grieving about him. I’m not saying she’s not allowed to grieve and everyone takes it at their own pace, but cmon... Show her living her life too. This is too much. Her being next to his grave and grieving him as her last panels just shoves it in our faces that YET AGAIN, BEING OBSESSED WITH AARON IS ALL HER CHARACTER STANDS FOR. 

I truly despise how Isayama handles her grieving, kissing his decapacitated head, carrying it around like some handbag, and her last panels being thissss.

The world leaving Paradis alone miraciously after all that??? 

It’s so weird and out of place with so many political feuds and disagreements between the world and Paradis, the entire Rumbling happening and we can see Mikasa just chilling outside in Paradis with no one bothering them. You can see the rings of the walls in the picture below.  I don’t know the exact reason behind as the manga is still in Korean, but from what I see, the story went the route of: throwing a happy ending without enough proper reason and  it was all fixed just like that in a snap! It doesn’t fit the entire narrative of attack on titan for things to be so peacful out of nowhere. When it comes to the narrative, how things work in that world, how hard it is to achieve peace, everything made somewhat sense up until chapter 138. 139 seems so so out of place...  It’s like I’m reading a chapter from a totally different manga. 

Aaron Yoghurt got defeated so easily/ Aaron’s character assassination

The build up on the first part of the rumbling was great, those kids carrying coins. You could feel humanity’s fear and Aaron’s hatred in those pages. As if he truly had a goal and he has turned away completely from his comrades and his closest friends with no return. The world seemed truly doomed, but he  got defeated just like that. He was in the nape all this time (because screw the warhammer power of hiding yourself elsewhere in his ginormous titan body). There is no master plan as we all expected, and in the end he just acts all yandere in the paths with Armin and that’s it... They massacared his entire character as well. Many fan theories created a better ending with his character. Him being reincarnated as Historia’s baby would be so much better. For him to still keep on seeking and to strive for power. It has always been his motive. It’s his personality from the start until chapter 138. Even if things are okay, to keep on going and to seek that adventure, but then.. He’s so weak and directionless suddenly.. It’s so weird... This is not Aaron at all???

Historia’s baby 

The only panel we got from Historia’s child was this. Just a normal kid, normal life... Why did Isayama put so much effort in highlighting Historia’s pregnancy if it was nothing too spectacular anyway? It seemed he had major plans for this kid and for their development too??? It’s again, big plans, big developments, big relationship dynamic, but all  got thrown out of the window... 

Don’t read the next sentence if you are a minor :’) 

It’s like almost ejaculating, but stopping right before it and repeating that every single Arc.

In Conclusion...

I know us fans should not be deciding on how this story should end, because this is Isayama’s story after all, but I truly wished for him to wrap up things much more rounded. There are so many unanswered questions... Again, I think for the sake of being done with this manga, he rushed all of it. He’s become a millionaire from this story and now his pockets are jammed full, I guess he doesn’t need to put in any effort anymore, right? Perhaps a controversial opinion, but I really wished he cared for his fans a little bit more with this last chapter by giving some answers that make sense at least. It’s his fans who gave him this platform and the opportunity to tell his story and for him to at least give in a bit of effort especially in the last chapter is the least he can do. Rivamika being canon or not, he truly rushed it without thinking much about the entire story line. He expanded it so much, he didn’t know how to bind it all together.

Even after all this, I’ll still ship them in the headcanon type of way. I do give credit to Isayama for giving us a template for such a beautiful dynamic between Levi and Mikasa. He decides to waste it, but that doesn’t mean we have to.  I want to thank all the people with amazing writing skills, the ones who give us beautiful art like @carmenlee @phit chan @vialesana​ and many more. I want to remind all of you that we can create something beautiful of our own and we don’t neccesarily need canon lore for that. The art I’ve seen, the fanfictions I’ve read have touched me deeper than Isayama ever could at times.The Mikasa in our mind is appreciate of Levi, is mature, classy and has a strong will for herself. They spend their remaining days together peacefully. Keep writing, keep drawing, stay creative.

3. what's a wip you've procrastinated on the longest?

If we go all the way back to my very first fic on ao3, you'll see it's under 1k and was last updated in 2018. However, if we're talking about wips i'm still interested in writing, it's and the day could no longer contain me, which is a bnha crossover with fmab. It's been over two years since i wrote for it, and we're approaching a year and a half since my last update with what i did have. Its my baby hfdkj but i realized i fucked up the timeline on it and i've been in denial instead of fixing it ever since lmao

4. what's a wip that's fairly easy for you to get back into writing? why?

there are two in particular. The first one is called the sky is an ocean and its a drifting dragons fic. I started writing it about a year ago when i realized that there were 13 fics on ao3 and a good chunk was nsfw and the rest was stuff i wasn't interested in. i think its easy to write because there's something v comforting about the universe itself. The second is remember me when i am gone, which is a naruto fic abt an oc who has anterograde amnesia. this one is easy to write because the main character's understanding of certain things resets pretty often, so he's in the dark about a lot of stuff. his anxiety about asking questions he might have already asked is copy-pasted from my own life lol.

7. do you outline before writing? if so, what's your outlining process like?

I do outline! In the middle tho. When i get an idea, my goal is usually to write a couple sentences that could act as a hook in the summary, and then start over and write the lead up to the hook or what happens directly after. Then once i'm stuck, i look at what i have and decide where i want the story to go in the long run, what themes it might have, etc. But sometimes the story just takes over my life. my fic i'd pay the devil twice as much to keep your soul on ao3--the working title was 'eggs' btw--came about from some demonic possession that disallowed work of any kind until the fic was fully written, so i had an unproductive four days wherein i wrote 6k of the fic and did literally nothing else.

Had a rough week, sorry for no updates. I had the idea for this one right off the bat, but had no time to write it. Such is life, I suppose. This AU doesn’t fit into my other ‘ask-game’ stories, btw.

Tucker crossed his arms and leaned a shoulder into the door frame, watching his students stream down the hallways and out of the school. Lockers slammed as laughter and chatter echoed around the school. One kid paused just long enough to wave and shout, “Bye Mr F.!” as he raced by.

“Bye Danny B.,” Tucker said, fighting back a smile. This year, there were seven Danny’s in the fourth grade - a relatively low number for Amity Park Elementary. Ever since Phantom had become a thing, ‘Danny’ had become the number one boy’s name for the local area. 

The original Danny either hated it or thought it was hilarious, depending on the day and how ghostly he was feeling. Tucker’s lips twisted as he wondered which it was today.

Tucker watched the boy escape out of the school, free for the rest of the day, and sighed. He wasn’t quite done. He had a literacy assessment coming up he had to prepare for before he could head home. To his quiet apartment. Alone. His shoulders dropped just a touch as the school quieted and he headed back into his classroom. 

Being alone hadn’t been in the plan. But, to be honest, teaching hadn’t been in the plan either. Tucker had grown up dreaming of getting a tech job where he’d be rich and somewhat-famous-in-the-right-circles, being able to go to a comfortable home after a long day of work and having someone to talk to and play games with, and go out and do things with, and cook with, and sit at the table and eat with… 

But Tucker had made the mistake of falling for someone who couldn’t return his affection. Tucker had done his damnedest to break himself out of it. He’d dated nearly a hundred different people, trying to shake the feeling. At least a dozen of those people he should have fallen head-over-heels for, been content to settle down and spend the rest of his life with them.

He hadn’t. He sat through every date, part of him frustrated that this was the wrong person. And so he’d turned his frustration into focus. Graduated in less than three years with a teaching degree - because it was quick and easy and a solid plan for getting away from Amity Park forever. He could teach anywhere. He could get away… from the one person he needed to. 

When Principal Lancer the day he graduated called him up with an incredible job offer, Tucker found that he couldn’t refuse. His mouth said ‘yes’ even as his brain threw a tantrum over it. And even though he could have gotten a job anywhere else - that was the plan - he moved back to Amity Park. Got an apartment next to Danny’s.

Now, with the object of his affection flying around, making the news, and - two or three nights a week - dropping in to join him for supper, Tucker hadn’t been allowed to forget. To relax. To move on.

Tucker snorted at his own thoughts, a smirk on his face. He sounded like a ghost in his head. 

He didn’t want to think about that. He didn’t want to think about ghosts. Because then he’d think about Danny, and about the fact that he should have been able to find someone to get married to, and he should have been able to move away, and he should have been able to-

He settled down in his chair and stared blankly at his computer. Literacy assessment. Right. He needed to get ready for that.

Really, he should be proud of everything he’d accomplished the last three years. He was one of the highest ranking teachers in the school, even though he was so new. He had poured his soul into this job. Instead…

His eyes drifted to the windows, restlessly scanning the sky for the hundredth time that day. It was “I need to find a new town,” he muttered - and not for the first time today. With a shake of his head, he forced his attention to the screen.

“Tucker!”

Tucker’s head dropped down into his arms on his desk at the sound of Danny’s voice. “I’m honestly cursed,” he muttered.

“You okay? And what are you doing in a classroom?”

Tucker raised his head, eyebrows furrowing, and blinked at the Danny standing in his classroom. It was definitely Danny, but it also wasn’t. This one was quite a bit older, thinner, and had a confused expression on his face. “Who are you?” Tucker asked.

“You’re a teacher in this universe?” The older Danny laughed and shook his head. “Never saw that happening to you.”

“Me either,” Tucker said, slowly standing up, processing ‘in this universe’ slowly through his head. He decided to roll with it rather than question it. Questioning ghostly things usually caused him headaches. “What am I in your universe?”

“Started a tech company, made a bazillion dollars, retired at thirty.” Toxic green eyes studied him. “Definitely not a kid person, though. Maybe that’s why Clockwork sent me back here.”

Tucker blinked a few times. “What?”

The older Danny held out the bundle he was holding. “Here. I guess this is for you.”

Tucker took a few cautious steps forwards. He felt the little goosebumps rise on his arms when he stepped within Danny’s aura, the strange little flutter in his chest that none of his other dates had caused. With pursed lips, Tucker snagged the object and took a few quick steps backwards. 

Danny frowned, his forehead wrinkling. “You okay?” he asked.

Tucker felt a shiver run down his spine. The Danny in this universe never noticed how Tucker didn’t like standing within five feet of him. The Danny in this universe didn’t notice anything if it wasn’t related to being a hero. “Yeah,” Tucker whispered. “What is this?”

“Look.”

Tucker slowly unraveled the blankets, eyes widening as he realized he was holding a baby. Light skin, thick black hair, and the tiniest little fingers. He shifted his posture, maneuvering the bundle so that he was cradling the sleeping child correctly. “What is this?” Tucker repeated, looking up.

His classroom was empty. Danny was gone.

Tucker felt his stomach drop to his toes knowing, deep down, the strange older Danny wasn’t coming back any time soon. He glanced back down, unconsciously running the tips of his fingers along the child’s cheek. A few pieces of paper folded into the blankets caught his attention and Tucker took them out, using one hand to carefully unfold them. A birth certificate that listed Tucker as the father, a social security card, and a court order that listed Tucker as having full parental custody of the child. “What the hell?” Tucker whispered. 

The child squirmed, yawned, and opened its eyes. Tucker felt the rest of his organs follow his stomach by heading to his toes.

The baby’s eyes were inhumanly green.

Inuyasha Characters As Roomates

In honor of yashahime’s release i’ve decided to post this for no real reason.Can you tell who my bias is lmao. Lmk if I should do a Part 2 with the people I missed. You want Inuyasha as your roommate???Chile anyways...

No but fr tho in general Inuyasha isn’t an awful roommate, he pays his bills on time(ususally), doesn’t make too big of a mess but that’s just because he owns like 3 things and 2 outfits.

No, the real problem with Inuyasha is that he is LOUD

You walk outside to throw the trash away and he’s in his room screaming about a video game or something and the WHOLE neighborhood can hear him. 

People pokin they head out in concern and everything

Another time he was watching a horror movie and you guess the characters did something stupid because you hear a scream from the character and then Inuyasha screaming “WHAT THE FUCK, WHY WOULD YOU GO THAT WAY DUMBASS! THAT’S WHY YOU’RE DEAD NOW!”

Shit woke you up out of your sleep

After that incident you knew you’d have to ask him to be a bit more considerate of your eardrums.

So, you ask him to quiet down and he pouts like a child and huffs and puffs.

He does quiet down tho...for about 2 minutes until he stubs his toe on the end of the couch

If it were up to Inuyasha your groceries would consist of a cabinet of ramen like the man has the budget for ramen and paying his share of he bills why would he spend money on things like fruit???

This is where Kagome comes in, she comes by pretty regularly and she brings food or groceries because she of all people knows how terrible Inuyasha’s shopping habits are.

Inuyasha just has rbf but you don't know that so you think he’s making faces at you

She also isn’t home too often between her job, taking care of Kohaku and Kirara, and her relationship

She ends up spending more and more time at Miroku’s place anyways

Sango finally moves in with Miroku when she gets pregnant, yall still keep in touch tho because you’ve become good friends

Miroku is the shortest lasting roommate on this list

Mans is a little creeper pervert and that shit gets annoying after a while

You’ll be walking out the shower and Miroku’s standing there like “hey lil mama lemme whisper in ya ear”

Needless to say you smacked the taste outta his mouth and he stopped with that real quick

He stops but you’re surprised when you see Sango come over 

Your hand starts itching with the urge to slap him again...

You meet Sango and what she sees in him is... baffling, scientists to this day still don’t understand

Anyways, Miroku moves out eventually and he takes his nasty ass ways with him

Later you find out that Sango moved in with him and sje’s gon have a baby by him

But you know that’s none of your business 

Koga

If you thought Inuyasha was loud...

Inuyasha doesn’t have any friends, Koga has a wolf pack...

He’s actually a decent roommate and he moves into a bigger house with his friends and calls it the ‘pack house’

He actually invites you to come move in w him and his buddies

Sesshomaru

The king of “I’m better than you”

He has his life so well together and you’ve gotta give him props

Mans is basically Caspar the Friendly Ghost of roommates 

Does he actually live here? the lights stay on and his name is on the deed so... I guess

Seriously tho, Sesshomaru doesn’t need a roommate but he does need someone to mind Rin

You might ask, what about Jaken, Jaken is busy (following Sesshomaru) or so he claims

Sesshomaru isn’t too bad honestly he covers the majority of the expenses in exchange for you watching Rin and feeding Ah-Un

So you’re basically Rin’s stay at home nanny

But you don’t mind because she is a SWEETHEART

Ah-Un isn’t too bad, just feed 2 lizards

(Although depending on who you are feeding them bugs might be your worst nightmare)

Jaken and you buttheads all the time, it’s almost comical

The times you interact with him mainly consist of you telling him to leave Rin alone or him telling you something Sesshomaru said

Speaking of Sesshomaru you don’t see him often and the only times you hear from him are in the form of notes he leaves around the house to the degree of ‘I fed Ah-Un this morning’ or ‘Make sure Rin takes her vitamins’ 

The other times you “hear” from him are when Jaken comes by saying things like ‘Lord Sesshomaru has requested that you prepare Rin to go out’

And for a while you were like who tf does he think he is because like yea he pays most of the rent but like he isn’t paying you for this so why does he think he can order you around indirectly

The first time you see Sesshomaru, it’s late and Rin’s been asleep for hours.

You walked into the kitchen and didn’t bother with turning the lights on but then you heard the smallest shuffle and a groan

And the moonlight comes through the window at the perfect angle and it reflects so beautifully off his silver hair

He turs some and you see his face and immediately take back all the times you’ve cussed him out mentally

And the you realize you’re in your pajamas staring at this man you’ve never met before that’s sleeping on the couch. For all you know he could be some random guy who broke in

He looks so peaceful that you loathe to disturb it but you poke at him w a stick and he groans out something to the tune of “Go away Jaken”

“I’m not Jaken”

He immediately sat up and stared at you like he was trying to figure out who you were in his head for a moment 

“Don’t you want to sleep in your room?” you asked him. He stood up and begun to walk towards his room in response 

You just watched him walk away but before he turned the corner into the hallway you swear you heard him say “You should get some sleep too.”
