A LOVE LETTER TO QSMPBLR

I saw my mutuals write those and decided that I also want to say a few words.

My whole life I loved being part of the communities. I’ve been heavily into fandoms since I was 10, and now 12 years later I can firmly state that QSMPblr community is definitely in my personal top 3 of all the fandoms I have been in.

It’s been such a fun and emotional and thrilling journey with so many ups and downs and I would never refuse to repeat it all over again. I met so many wonderful and incredible people because of this server that I can’t thank the universe enough.

All of my mutuals and followers made most of my 2023 so happy, and continue to do so in 2024, and I really need this joy with everything that happens outside the community itself.

(I am sorry this text is all over the place, I am struggling with concentration atm)

And I am so elated and a bit surprised for how many of you I became one of the favorites blogs here. I mean, I jumped from barely 150 followers to around 820 since september, and it’s all thanks to having so much fun liveblogging and theorizing with all of you.

Despite everything, I think Purgatory 1 was my favorite ever time period here. Yes, there was a lot of frustration and negativity but I don’t think I’ve ever felt such a comradery as back then, with my fellow Soulfire mains. I was in the post limit jail every single day, because I just could not stop chatting with all of you and reblogging incredible posts.

I also hold very dearly the moment, where Bad showed Tubbo the Soulfire Base Recreation. But the main reason is not even that this happened, but the fact that so many people on tumblr, in dms and even in Bad’s chat were LOOKING FOR ME, because they knew how much I’ve waited for that to happen. It was just so heartwarming to wake up to dozens of messages and mentions. I struggle with ‘nobody really cares if i am here or not’ syndrome a lot, so it made my day to see that people do.

I also want to say special thanks to some of you (even though each and single one of you deserve a separate paragraph). Under the cut:

@qtubbo and @mikaikaika. I love both of you so much, our 247 crew maybe on a kinda hiatus, but every moment we spent together is so special to me. We had so much fun, and I couldn’t ask for the batter gang to gash about the lore and cool posts together.

@lionheartedmusings. I am pretty sure you do not open tumblr these days, but if or when you see this: I am so glad that I got a chance to be your friend. We held so many incredible discussions together, and I am so proud to see your success and happy to be at least a small part of it.

Watched Stranger by the Shore and it's the best thing ever!!

My mind is still processing things, but the relationship between Shun and Mio is beautiful. I wish Mio's character is more explored since he's the protagonist as well but I love how they showed internalised homophobia in Shun.

This is my third time watching an anime movie (first Your Name, second Spirited Away), and tbh I found some parts of it hard to understand. It would've been less confusing if this was a series, and the characters would've been developed well, but I love how Shun and Mio's relationship was portrayed. Although Shun took an interest in him when Mio was 17, they were in a relationship when Mio was 20, hence he was a full-grown adult. Their age gap was 7 years, and I wish it was much closer, as a review of it said. But the chemistry between the two main characters was a chef's kiss and I love how their relationship progressed. Their relationship wasn't creepy at all, thankfully.

The sex scene was my favorite. It wasn't even remotely sexual, as it explores the feelings the characters have for each other, with Shun's mental state being explored. It isn't your typical sex scene used to fetishize their relationship, but it digs deeper into their characters and it is emotional (the KinnPorsche bathroom scene in episode 7 made me realize my preference for emotional sex scenes). When they cuddle after having sex, which wasn't so great, then zooming in to Shun crying as he cuddles Mio made me cry as well.

In this case, gay people were shown to be humans. Their sexuality didn't define them. I liked that Shun and Mio weren't the only same-sex couple since there was a happy lesbian couple too.

Looks like I need to watch the movie again to understand it better because my thoughts aren't clear atm, but this movie was successful in making me cry. I liked Mio and I wish his character was explored as someone who was recovering from grief, but I think the makers focussed more on Shun and there was not enough time to cover Mio's side of the story. Might make another blog on this move (will write a more detailed review on WordPress), but thanks for reading (for those who stumbled through this.)

I saw you were killing your lawn grass to plant clover and other things. Do you have any advice? We're trying to do no mowing or anything but it's SO LONG I worry about ticks and chiggers. I dunno how to convert this to something a little less wild.

Some examples of it! It's just a lil crazy atm and I kinda want a garden of edible vegetables somewhere!! But I have no idea how to even start. I really wanna plant trees but the ground here is so hard (mountains) it's so hard to dig to plant.

That grass is going to outcompete anything you try to plant there at its current state. You will have to get rid of that grass.

You have a couple options.

The first is mowing it with the intent to kill it. I mean real short. I mean get that blade so close to the dirt its hitting rocks. With as high as it is right now, you might try a weed whacker for the tallest parts. If you can rent a good mower, do so. I've been using a cheap mower and its been struggling. Or get someone else to mow it for you- but you have to get it short.

The second option is smothering it. It can't grow if there's no light. I've done this accidentally before with pieces of cardboard weighed down. Two weeks-ish will have it dead, just check it periodically. This might be harder to do on a large area.

We are doing a combination of the two.

First, cutting it short. Show that grass who's boss.

After its been cut, we are using the pieces of our shed that blew over in a wind storm to cover the lawn one section at a time. After the two weeks are up on one area, we move the plastic pieces further into the yard.

Here comes the clover.

Once the grass is dead, that's when you can plant your ground cover (clover mix). Try to do this on a day when the soil is wet.

When it comes in, the clover will want to get tall. Cut it down. Once you cut it, it will grow more slowly and you won't have to do it as often as you would with grass.

Once you reseed the lawn, you will have to continue reseeding it because that grass will want to take over. We skipped it this year and the grass took control of the lawn.

You might want to look into 'no mow' plants that do well in your soil. Because its one thing to stop mowing but the real benefits to the soil come from plant diversity. But sadly, we don't have the same kind of dirt and my knowledge of your soil type is limited and this is like a whole... thing.

Like our main concern in our area is having plants that help with drainage. Probably not the same problem where you are. So think about what kinds of problems you have and try to find a garden blog that deals with those specific problems.

Hello everyone!! I thought i'd give a bit of an update on the state of the comic atm

Before you worry or anything, this isn't anything bad nor are there any plans on stopping the blog just wanted to get that out of the way first lol

Anyways, the comic's doing great right now! I got nearly 9 pages worth of dialogue that I've gone through and story boarded! I'm only halfway through and I've got 45 panels all in the rough draft phase.

Unfortunately, that brings me to why I'm doing an update: a good chunk of these 9 pages [and by chunk I mean...all of it] is nothing related to asks and is rather an extended conversation between Aradia and Eridan. This isn't a bad thing of course, I love drawing out conversations and writing it was a lot of fun...buuuuuut a lot of it is exposition and I know a lot of you came here for the askblog part of the well- askblog. Which isn't going away by the by! I just wanted to give a warning that it's gonna be a bit until asks are answered again

This silly au started off as a fun little excuse to rp with new friends, and it eventually evolved into this here askblog. Eventually behind the scenes, it started to grow more and more into a passion project, and I mean it REALLY grew into one. Hell at this point it's pretty much a MSPFA that's not on MSPFA [it will be eventually tho] while being an askblog as well.

Which is why it does kinda suck to been in this rut of having to get all this long, non-ask filled story stuff all in a huge chunk. So, I kinda have a solution! In the middle of me working on the chunks of the main comic, would you guys be down to do some silly non-canon questions? They won't nearly be as detailed as the main comic, mostly just fun little doodles to pass the time and to keep the asks flowing.

Otherwise I want to thank every one of you who's stuck by the blog, we're almost at 500 followers and that's crazy as hell to me! You guys are awesome and all the support has been so encouraging, especially with my not-so-fast pace when it comes to getting these updates out haha. I just had a bolt of memory about it and had to go searching through an old email to find any traces of it (i used to send you asks in 2018 about it). Hi! Not a long shot at all, yes that was me! The blog was mystilfyn, I still have it but it’s been locked for….I want to say four or five years.

Everything on that blog got extremely outdated about a year or two after I made it, and in a bad mental health episode I got a little paranoid about people seeing my personal work - I’m still a little skeevy about it today, to be completely honest, but the headworld itself is still going very strongly and has been for the last six to eight years or so. A lot of it has been scrapped and rebuilt iterations over the years, so while I’m extremely touched that you still remember it (I remember you, btw!! Hello!!) I’m not comfortable bringing the blog back atm bc it’s not an accurate representation of my work anymore, and it’s changed (and I’ve gotten much better at certain aspects, ie. conlanging) as I’ve grown up with it.

Hello, I hope this is okay for me to send. I'm one of the blogs you blocked. (First off, this is your good right, and I completely understand and I hope this isn't a breach or invasion of privacy to send this from a different blog)

I always made sure to only tag content of Nolanverse Crane when it's really him and not any other Cillian role because I understand the frustration. And like I said, I absolutely understand that he's not a proper Scarecrow in your eyes. But it kind of hurts to get lumped into a group where I don't feel like I belong (if that makes sense)

Scarecrow in general is my favorite character in any comic related media. Arkhamverse Crane and Audio Adventures are at the top for me, and I also have a deep love for Fear State and little fan interpretations where he's just a funky little freak. My blog is Nolanverse centric atm because I just haven't gotten around to writing fics for the others. (And I'm worried I won't write them well tbh)

But all of that aside, my reason for actually sending this was because I was genuinely missing your posts and opinions on my dash. I was honestly a little worried that I didn't see anything from you before I realized what happened.

See, that post was mainly about people I blocked weeks/months ago. I often only block the fangirls, for lack of a better word. I actually made the Cillian post on a whim. Again, the people I block are more fans of the actor than the character. My main complaint was seeing Cillian stuff, which was not from the movies, in the tag. It just sorta....clogs it up?
