An Unsightly Guy | React | Spoilers
It's Day 7 and 8 lovelies!!! And boy do we have some great content ahead especially in day 8 lol
It seems though the momentum on this event has slowed down and I think it's mostly due to the fact that it's so drawn out and so far there's nothing really "exciting" happening.
But that seems to be the case with these events like the hype is high the first two to three days and after it's like s p l o o t.
I think if this was a Amy only event and the card had an adore mode people would be more excited about it.
But that's just my ramblings forgive me.
So we're back with Sitri being on his BS when seeing Amy at any given moment lol But before this they were just staring at each other quietly again like my favorite gif that ya'll often see.
but if i'm being honestly Sitri and I have the same brain cell here because I can't stand other's hot ass breath on me even if it doesn't smell bad because why??? are??? you this damn close???
So Amy ofc tells Sitri that he's breathing like that because he's hurt. Fair but this man don't give a shit lol
He goes over to him to access the damage I assume because it turns out even though the forest is torn up there's more angel bodies dead than devil bodies. They remained victorious.
I love how Amy's subordinates are always worried about him and it shows solidarity for their leader. But yeah Sitri also has this thing about him where he shows care for everyone else except the person he dislikes this being Amy.
That's from him being up in Hades. I swear to ya'll it is. That snooty ass attitude rubbed off so badly Sitri can't help but reflect that back into the universe
STOP
the height difference, how the sprites are close to each other, Amy being a foul mouth demon that he is...I really can't get away from my cxc ship bullshit ever when they do things like this lol
I do however like that Amy is a punk. Just mouthing off and cursing any time he can.
that's why Astra likes to provoke him too
But Sitri just simply tells him to stop bitching because the pain is proof that he's alive. So Amy takes this opportunity to one up on this moment because of what happened a few days ago
first of all, Amy is adorable. I just wanna tap his booba and tell him he's doing great.
Sitri gets pissed off though because it's the exact same thing he told him when he arrived a few days back when he had to save that devil boy from his commando unit. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he had this one coming. An eye for an eye basically and Amy came and showed out.
So a couple things about this.
Remember what they said about him here, not usually being foul-mouthed and foul-tempered for a bit. You'll see where I'm getting at later.
Second. This is the pronoun thing I was referring to, which now has me thinking that maybe Sitri didn't mean "her" on day 6 and that was possibly just a mistake on the translating/writing part.
Though I am still wondering what incident caused him to be very angry back then where he had to smack himself back to reality to keep from focusing on it.
And while this little interaction is going on, the devils around them are gossiping about how Sitri and Amy always found time to fight each other even in situations like this.
But I think they forgot the part where Sitri can fucking hear them lmaooo because he was quietly stewing in annoyance by the entire thing, so much he had to think about when he and Amy first met.
So this was centuries ago, and it's wild because I'm like wait it's been that long for them holy shit my life is fleeting because to me a decade blinking by is so long.
A bit of lore about Satan btw, this was a time where he barely had an army, so it must have been he first came into power as a king. (we really need that backstory honestly) And went around scouting for willing participants even neighboring countries.
They also bring up that devils who saw him traveling around decided to join because they loved his energy.
When I think about this it's wild that Satan had to foot for his own army. This leads me to believe Gehenna was low due to the amount of deaths, or perhaps something happened with the previous king that caused this.
Either way, the babes did his thing and now he's got more than enough helping him during the battles. Picturing him recruiting folks though is cute because I imagine he's a great motivational speaker or just "hey join me btw" and it just works.
So the instructors didn't even notice Sitri because well in their defense they hadn't seen him yet. So of course they see this pretty, "slender" looking devil show up with his hair all nice and pushed back and is just like "aye so???"
He introduces himself and then that's when everyone starts acting accordingly and seeing him as a superior. But I mean that's why he was nice about it anyway because to him, they should be wary of someone they hadn't seen before and Gehenna needs that type of energy.
So now that we're in day 8 there's a few things I wanted to point out. One of them being the breadcrumb here that Hades had a fully formed solid military. That means...Leviathan is either the same age as Satan or a bit older, or he is younger than him but he's just better efficient with managing devils with his strict ass.
Sitri though see's Satan's army as an advantage. Because the Gehenna devils are flexible and free but also disciplined. That leads me to believe that it's only really fear and power that Leviathan uses to make sure that everyone in his military doesn't fuck things over. It makes sense, given Levi doesn't really have a carefree personality. There's too much trauma in there for him to break down that wall.
So while Sitri was daydreaming about his plans for leading Satan's army...someone...i think we know who fucking spits in his direction...
Now the reason he's pulling this face again is because he stepped into the spit. And I'm sitting here like ?????? I get it.
Again, like imagine just minding your business and someone just hacks a fucking loogie on the ground and you step in it. With your good shoes at that.
I'd be so disgusted like??? IRL bodily functions even my own gross me out easily so I apologize if anyone ever feels offended by me having strong opinion's about things we can't help. It's just me ya'll I live in pain constantly due to this.
Yup, it was Amy ya'll lmao big surprise.
So the reason Amy wasn't reading the room here, is because he felt like he didn't need to due to his status as a solider and being recently done with training. He was really good at what he does, so he felt anything else was not worth paying attention to.
Including spitting in the direction of your superior.
Now remember when I told ya'll to keep in mind that they said Amy wasn't usually foul mouth or foul tempered?
Then what the hell is this? Lmao
I get it, people change and well devils ain't got nothin' but time so perhaps Amy did mellow out with age and he was much younger here so that "I don't need to listen or do jack shit that ain't got to do with Satan" was very heavy. So ofcourse he'd pick a fight with everyone else.
But them expect Sitri to deal with it because he was nice to everyone?
Nah. He about that life.
He pretty much said "fuck you" without actually saying it and spat ON Amy. Mind you, Amy didn't even spit on him directly just in his walking path.
Yeah...?
That goddamn fucking smirk I'm going to lovingly kick his ass because Levi PLS
You're telling me he literally took this man, molded him into a Levi clone and sent him back out like that in Gehenna? I feel this is deliberate lmao "You sent me someone and gave me work to do so here you go here's your present <3"
Imagine all of the ass kicking Satan had to do in order to fix that attitude? Phew...I bet he was like "Again?"
now ya'll know why Cain is always on that everyone is stupid to me energy because look who he takes after?
I just find it hilarious that Sitri took that personally, because Levi would take that personally. If fact Levi wouldn't even spit on Amy back he'd just fucking hang him for being disgusting LOL
i couldn't resist.
So with Amy it was on sight, because trust, if someone spat on my face I'd be swinging too because clearly you want to disrespect me
Like ya'll think about it?
All he did was just spit on the ground and Sitri wasn't paying attention and stepped in it. He didn't spit directly on him.
small story time but it reminds me of a story i was told that i ripped up a boy's classwork in kindergarten because he tore my page on the corner as a "joke". i legit took his page and ripped it up. apparently i was on demon mode lmao
But now we're really starting to see the meat and potatoes of their dynamic. Sitri actually started it and ran with it. He saw the spit as disrespect and intentional when Amy sees it as "this dude fucking spit on me now we have beef"
So they're having this little interaction of Amy trying to punch Sitri, and because Sitri's ability to hear his heart and his muscles swell before he makes the movement he can dodge him without problem. But Amy is robust and not clumsy so he doesn't do the comical falling forward thing most of us see in cartoons.
Sitri is annoyed though because he sees the potential in Amy and his talent, he simply just doesn't like that attitude and sees it as a problem.
This is definitely Levi vibes.
So the next time Amy goes for him, he actually trips him so he falls. And it ends there.
Mannnnnnnnn this is a whole trip and a half. Like imagine if Sitri would have just simply ignored the spit and just dismissed Amy's bad attitude? I wonder if that would of even helped or if Amy would have done something to annoy Sitri later that would start the same beef regardless.
Imagine.
Centuries old beef because someone stepped in spit.

Hi I’m literally obsessed with this au
I have a couple questions I’m so sorry if I’m bothering you but I’ve been analyzing this comic for way too long
Who is leading mountain to be killed? Who is getting crowned? Why is mountain being killed? Are the rest of the knights/other portraits other ghouls? Who is helping phantom unbury him? Is phantom unveiling him at the end?
I’m so sorry I’m obsessed, your art is amazing and thank you for your time
Thanks for the time and energy you invested into this!!! Wow! I might disappoint you after this haha. But u know! Always analyze and believe in whatever you think it’s the best explanation! I love when ppl have their own understanding of a piece :) that’s why there’s no dialogue
Anyway about the comic…
It supposed to be a simple “once upon a time” kinda thing. A bedtime tell, someone’s small piece of memory, a casual story that’s melancholy. Nobody’s really important, except the little prince and his knight. There’s no deeper meaning other than the lonely prince lost the only person he cares about to a war.
Something about the titan knights is that they don’t care about their identity. Their powers and skills are the things that matters. That’s their identity instead of who that person is under that mask. They are weapons and they like to keep it that way. Meaning that if any one of them dies during the war, a weapon has served its purpose. The others will move on and there’s no sorrow. I don’t want to talk too much about different species lore here it’s a lot…maybe next time :)
However, the two anonymous knights are rather closer to Mountain and Phantom than everyone else. They are also more human-like. They are more sentimental than some others on the team. It’s not anyone’s fault that the titans are this way btw, it’s just how things is. These two knights care about phantom more than the others does spiritually, they kinda understand how close their captain was to the prince and what Mountain meant to him. So they take him to Mount. Usually titans don’t even take the dead body back with them. It’s not like they don’t care, they do, but to them dead body it’s meaningless. No longer serve any purpose. Titans don’t ever grieve, mourn, or anything.
Phantom does. Be glad that he’s even able to contact with the corpse one last time cuz a lot of times soldier’s grave is just an empty tomb. That’s also why he digs. He needs to see it himself in order to let go. He places the veil back to place and sees what he’s familiar with for his whole life. The mere illusion that Mount is still with him.
…
Honestly this whole thing came to me at 2am and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I feel like its more of a vibe, very vague story and fear of death I didn’t executed it the way I wish I could (skill issue…) anyway my first actual try at drawing comics and it took me 2 miserable weeks(it was okay). I shared this before I have concentrate issue my attention span is short💀…ngl the process it’s challenging and I wasn’t expecting ppl to understand what’s happening or even read it. I didn’t expect myself to finish the whole thing even lol. Glad you like it and look at it with these much appreciation AND letting me know!!! :)) that’s what I was tryna say. 🖤🖤🫶🫶🫶

Part 2. of ‘What Happened to Tomioka’
******************
On principle, Giyuu never slept well, but he especially never slept well after being throttled half to death by demons. Once he had woken up from his initial, classic battlefield collapse, his body had seemed to want to avoid returning to sleep more than anything. He supposed that was normal, and reasoned that anyone even attempting to sleep with as many tubes and devices connected to his vital organs as he had would find the night a worthy opponent.
Still. Never had his pains been so strong that he couldn’t so much as close his eyes without risking spinning, bright colors flashing in his vision. This was now the fourth day since he first awoke, and he hated to admit that he was desperately close to begging Shinobu for some kind of horse tranquilizer.
He had become irritable, and grumpy beyond anything he had experienced before, and loathed the idea of anyone other than the butterfly workers and Shinobu attempting to interact with him. Not that anyone was looking to interact with him in the first place.
Not that he wanted anyone to visit him.
He already knew he wasn’t exactly a delightful person even at his best, so he wouldn’t wish his current mood on even the likes of a Twelve Kizuki. Well, maybe he would. Migraines were a bitch.
That aside, while his mindset was presently bleary with medication and sleep deprivation, he supposed that his current horrible temperament wasn’t as fearsome as it usually would be. That wasn’t for lack of trying, although he could barely do that either. His arms and hands had been involuntarily clenching and curling for some time now, so at least he wasn’t losing any muscle mass yet. None of this compared to his actual injury, though.
This was exactly why he wasn’t fit to be the Water Hashira, he thought. Maybe now the Master would see that Giyuu was meant to be temporary. He could take someone more qualified, maybe someone with a completely different breathing style. He recalled that the former Thunder Hashira, Kuwajima-san, was believed to be training a few young slayers. It might be nice for the Corps to have more powerful techniques. Or perhaps just a more powerful wielder. He had plenty of free time now to endlessly contemplate all the ways he had messed up on his mission in order to end up here.
He remembered breathing heavily as he fought, chasing after the demons fleeing for the dark of the forest. Sunrise wasn’t far off, and he was eager for this fight to end. He got what he wanted. He didn’t anticipate an ambush, not with such a flimsy group of weaklings like this.
While the fight started with nearly fifteen child-sized demons, Giyuu had whittled them down to what he believed was five. Apparently his counting skills had gotten a little rusty. As he crossed the threshold of the woods, his blue blade almost humming in the dark, two more of the demons leapt upon him from above, managing to knock him down.
This group wasn’t particularly dangerous, at least not on the surface. Their claws were dull and round, their speed was average at best, and even their teeth were mostly ground down into flat nubs. They seemed to mainly target children, being the closest in size and more vulnerable.
Thankfully, Giyuu had kept them far back from the villages as possible, so since he’d shown up there hadn’t been any casualties. He still approached the situation with caution. There had to be a reason this pack hadn’t been defeated so easily. He observed their power soon enough.
These demons’ main weapons came twofold; their Blood Demon Art was a paralytic gas of some sort, (which had taken Giyuu two frustrating days to find a solution for; when in doubt, try wisteria) and they had overly large, powerful fists, with enough force to level a tree. Again, not exactly out of the ordinary, but the paralytic mist and the size of the initial group was troublesome enough that a Hashira was needed to weed out the little pests. Then again…perhaps the Master should have sent a true Hashira.
Upon attack, Giyuu had grunted and rolled onto his back, using the motion to slice one of the fists in half, which had then slowly begun to regenerate. Before he could continue, the sting of the paralytic flooded his nose, the sheer, cloying strength of it making him dizzy.
The wisteria chain around his collar disintegrated. The rest of the remaining group had circled back to their comrades, and, to his disliking, began to merge into one large, multi-armed, heavy demon, with its main set of hands digging their claws into he flesh of Giyuu’s arms. With a crunch, he felt his shoulders slam into the ground, and felt the dirt and rocks on the ground dig into his flesh.
His haori— it must have torn— gave way to blood-slick mud, which entered into the punctures in his arms. That meant his arms were literally pinned into the ground by the suddenly quite sharp talons of the demon. Their bodies fusing— this must have increased their physical abilities, as well as the power of their blood demon art breathing.
Dread pooled quickly in Giyuu’s gut when his sword was wrenched from his frozen grasp, the force of it pulling his wrist with a sickening pop. He couldn’t move. His sight blurred into fuzzy shapes against his will. All he remembered after that was so, so many hands covering his vision, a crushing pressure, the smell of copper, and a paralyzing blackness that left him helpless in the care of the Insect Hashira.
Speaking of, Shinobu, ever enduring, had been mainly focused on the seemingly impossible tasks of keeping him from choking on his own saliva and on him making it through the night without dislodging the tangle of tubes and pumps forcing his airway to work as intended. It seemed any sudden movement, even a cough, could turn a delicate system of machines into a pile of parts, which wasn’t pleasant for any of them to deal with.
Shinobu had deduced that the demon specifically tried to flatten his windpipe, given that his whole neck was now made of bruised purple flesh. On all sides, the column that was once his neck was now sore and tender to the touch, crumpled like fabric, dark and rotten like a horrid, all-permeating sunburn.
His eyes stung constantly, making them water relentlessly and stream down his ashen cheeks, as many blood vessels had burst from the pressure, flooding the whites on his eyes with crimson splotches. Everything happening to him now was either from the actual physical force used against him, or a direct result of oxygen loss from his brain.
Strangulation… not only was it very unusual, but this methodology was also deeply baffling. Why would a demon bother with such a mighty effort? It didn’t spill any blood. It took prolonged force and strength. It would have worked, though, had sunlight not caught the demon off guard and scorched it from the Earth. Giyuu laid unconscious in the cool morning, breathing through a windpipe the size of a straw, for about a half-hour until the Kakushi came to his rescue.
He hadn’t been able to feel any sensations in his neck and lower jaw since then, which he supposed was a blessing. Everywhere else ached or bled. He couldn’t even swallow so much as a breath without assistance from some fancy device pumping the air for him. He couldn’t tell where his skin ended and the tubes began. He didn’t want to feel any of it.
“Ara ara. You’re not up in your head again, are you Tomioka?”
It took a surprising amount of effort for him to shift his damp eyes towards his comrade. Shinobu fiddled with the dial on the tube in his arm. Her purple eyes met his, and stilled.
“Then again…I’m not sure there’s anywhere else for you to be at this point, huh?”
The lack of ability, of control over himself, that was what was impacting him the most. Other than moving his legs, of which the worst injury was an infected slash on his thigh, he was able to make hand and eye movements only, for fear of upsetting the machines keeping him alive. Giyuu admittedly didn’t care for these new, technological deities, but even he wasn’t fool enough to defy them.
He winced as his left arm, the one with the sprained wrist, curled and spasmed as he attempted to use it. All of his focus was now on moving his fingers into what he hoped was the right sign.
“Need?” Shinobu guessed, staring at his trembling hand. “What do you need, Tomioka?”
Slowly, he moved his fingers into the shape of the first character. He didn’t know the sign for ‘kindly insert whatever forsaken substance killed Gauguin’, and he couldn’t remember what the damned medicinal drug was anyway, so he finger-spelled ‘mayuku’ as best he could.
Purple eyes crimped. For the first time since he woke up, Shinobu actually laughed, her voice like wind chimes. She tapped a teasing finger against her chin with a little smile.
“Alright, you’ll get your painkillers soon enough. Dinner first, which is in…ten minutes!”
Giyuu’s fingers were cramping and loosening already, so he had to be satisfied with sending Shinobu a withering look. ‘Dinner’ was just her exchanging his near-empty intravenous drip bag for a full one. It didn’t need time to prepare. She was just being a terrible doctor on purpose.
“Have you managed to sleep at all?” She asked in a more gentle tone, taking in the pallor of his face and the purple-gray swelling under his eyes. With his other hand, Giyuu managed ‘no’.
“Hmm. It might be a better idea to reroute the tubeage through the skin…it’s not any less irritating, but it might allow a bit more stability. You should find sleeping easier in that case?”
She phrased it as a question, but Giyuu was already trying to sign his consent. His fingers wouldn’t work with his brain. The frustration billowed within him, and he managed to use enough force to smack his injured wrist (metal splint and all) against the railing of his bed.
Shinobu clearly didn’t appreciate this tremendous display of raw power, as she pursed her lips and firmly wrapped one of her hands around his splinted arm. She threaded her small fingers carefully through his stiff ones.
“Ara ara, none of that. Squeeze my hand as tight as you can if you’d like me to try the procedure—ah. Alright, Tomioka.”
A swell of gratitude welled up in Giyuu’s sore chest, and, reluctant as he was to show it, he knew Shinobu had been especially attentive to him since he was brought in. She had barely even poked fun at him. He had concluded that she knew his wounds were deep, and she was making every effort to not only keep him alive, but to see him comfortable as he was treated. She wasn’t risking anything to help him, but she was helping him.
In all the time he had known the Kochos, he still never felt deserving of their innate kindness. He squeezed again, as tight as he could, and let his eyes lose their defensive edge. Although he couldn’t have denied help if he tried, he did allow himself to accept his…friend’s…offered hand.
He tentatively allowed himself to have a friend.
Shinobu’s gaze fixated on his still-wet and red eyes. She didn’t say anything for a few beats, just let his trembling fingers clench tight to hers. His grip began to loosen, and that was when she tightened her own hold on his hand. She squeezed back, face still open, calm as a garden breeze. Her hand was dry and warm. It was the most comfort he’d felt in days. He didn’t mind it at all.
