i love it when bad is very specifically a good roleplayer by giving other people good prompts. like casually bringing up wilbur now to tallulah. or when he put missa in the petting zoo. or all those times he Tormented the Lesbians so they could protect each other from him. its just so !!!! I love watching roleplayers be considerate of other roleplayers and gleefully hand over something they Know the other person's character can react to. i've seen cellbit do it, too (that time he handed his knife to bbh. oh my god). it's not a rare thing, and it's possible to be a good roleplayer without keeping that sort of considerate back and forth in mind, but its one of my favourite things to notice. foolish does it too, sometimes- i haven't watched him much, but i did take note of when he Made Sure to bring jaiden along with him on a cucurucho quest. and basically every interaction he had with bad when the eggs were missing. its just so so good

Honestly everybody talking about how Philza and other cc's have unfollowed Forever which does show how serious the situation is but like the fact Bad has completely stopped talking about Forever (and is avoiding talking about him) + has taken a hard stop to liking any fanart with him in it just shows how fucked this all is like...

When you got Badboyhalo (who was not afraid to speak his mind when he believed the green dude was being hit with false allegations) to go completely radio silent about you that's how you know you fucked up.

calling harry a “can opener” was SUCH a good play for so many reasons i think about it every day.

in the context of his work, it makes him a tool. as many people have pointed out, including martin luiga, part of the hdb tragedy is that he simply cannot leave the force, and his superiors know that and are using it to their advantage. no matter what happens, even if harry hated every nanosecond of every bit of the work and wanted to leave, he can’t and won’t leave. they can leverage anything they want against him and then reel him back in with a facade of kindness when they “allow” him to keep his job, as long as he does what they want him to. the 41st knows he has this inexplicable talent with people and they use him for it. he’s a cop: that talent can be used in so many awful ways, to push so many different agendas. and they won’t even be his own. a can opener has no particular desire to open a can, aside from maybe the satisfaction of fulfilling a purpose. a can opener has no agency, it’s just a tool for someone else to use to get what they want. and he’s learned to be okay with being used as long as it means he gets to stay. his complacency with this system makes him guilty even if he’s also being harmed by it.

but in the context of his personal life you kind of... flip it. the people around him are going to be opened up whether they want to be or not, and it’s terrible for his relationships. it’s shown that the questions, the prying- the can-opening- it’s become inextricable from who he is as a person. it’s like he doesn’t know how else to communicate, except it’s hardly communication when you’re just ripping people open. he’s invasive as all hell, although whether he means to be is debatable. he’s the kind of person that wants to take things apart to see what makes them tick. he dissects people, but really that’s too delicate of a word for what he does; if he doesn’t get what he wants right up front, he’ll abandon all subtlety and go for brute force. if he can’t get your screws loose he’ll just smash you on the ground and pick through your pieces until he’s satisfied, and if what he did to you isn’t fixable? oh well, there are other cans to open. 

and he’ll use it for personal gain: we already know he is (was?) manipulative. once he knows how you operate, he knows how to make you keep him. he can yell or he can cry; he can threaten you or he can threaten himself; he can be completely suffocating or he can withdraw completely; he can be an incorrigible liar or brutally honest; he can present himself as a threat or a joke or a talent. he’s a chimera- that’s why he’s got this inexplicable magnetism, even when people know they shouldn’t like or trust him. fidelity of character means nothing to him. he’ll be whatever he needs to be as long as it gets him what he wants. the can-opening is just his way in.

simon didn't really directly talk TO his kid much. mostly just said some things aloud he wouldn't normally say.

the exception came when simon's pregnancy was looking to near its end, as he was reaching the standard gestation period's end (9 months). pb, while she had made some progress in figuring out how to prevent morrigan from wrecking shit once they were born, was not confident that she could stop a world-end event just yet. so just like when she turned to asking for help from dark magic when marceline almost died, she turned from science and sought out someone who could buy her some time, and maybe sort of less than honestly put a seal on golbaby that held it in its stasis form. just until she could figure out how to science her way out of the world ending!

simon really hopes this whole seal thing isn't hurting golbaby. he had a lot of time to read parenting books and he felt really, really bad that he let this happen to them, and he read that talking to your baby in the womb would help improve your connection.

golbaby wasnt happy and neither was simon, and eventually the seal on them broke. on another post you'll see simon asking if pb will know where they were; this is because he doesn't actually want pb to find them LMAO

Yeah like the post where she said Mimzy was in love with Alastor had Alastor look so out-of-sorts with the confession and sudden kiss that I would not be surprised if @vivziepop only realised Alastor was ace then and there, that he would not be interested. It is funny when creatives feel like their characters have told them something about themselves, those at least who work in that manner of development.

Yeah, I have OCs that I made like 18 years ago. And when you make OC as a kid/teen you go for the usual cishet (often white) road and as you grow up with them, you start to deviate from the "standard" and you "understand" them better? Lol it's hard to explain, but at some point, it's almost as if you don't control them, you know what they're like and "they wouldn't say that" or "they wouldn't do that" and you create their story accordingly. I have three characters that I love to draw and one ended up being bi and demisexual and the other grey and almost sex repulsed, and the last aroace like me, because my own aroasexuality made me view my characters differently.

I just think people shouldn't be surprised or mad that someone change their OCs, even less if it ends up adding more diversity, because as a young artist/writer, you're surrounded by the default cishet option and once you start going away from that perspective and realize you've never been part of that category anyway, then you don't see yourself in your OCs anymore. They change as you grow and discover yourself. So I'm sure that's what happened, and it's funny how your own OCs can surprise you sometimes. "oh my child, you've been ace all along, I didn't realize that, sorry, I'm gonna update your backstory" lol

Part of Harry feels its loss acutely.

He goes about his days like there’s a small hole in his chest. If he listens closely, he can hear the wind whistle through it. If he pays too much attention, he can feel himself leaking out of it. The more he notices, the more he loses, and the wider it grows.

It’s such a strange concept, he ponders, missing a part of himself that was never his. Like tree roots that twist around lamp posts and the inevitable loss that comes with its removal in an act to save nature— the tree stands tall but noticeably different. A gap, an emptiness where there was once something and now nothing.

It’s unnatural to everyone. But was it unnatural to the tree? Unnatural even though it was all it's ever known?

Harry has always been unnatural and has possibly never felt more so until now. Until he is without Voldemort’s Horcrux.
