I need to make something clear or else the fans might attack me and send me threats, I like this show and was kinda scared to post this but I gotta say it........

.......Anyways, Im just rant about some excuses for Helluva Boss that are just not good excuses when fans defend the wrighting.

1. "If you dont like it dont watch it 🙄"

So this excuse I hear a lot when fans are backed into a corner and cant protect the critisisms from the show (Sorry I am tired, so my spelling might not be that good) And even if people deny it they use this excuse anyways without giving a good argument to why whatever critism the show gets is wrong.

Also I told this to someone before, but by the logic of this excuse, that means anyone who watches and said they openly hate a show like Velma or High Gaurdian Spice secretly likes it.

(I am gonna bring these shows up a lot to use them as examples. Should probably mention now that I dont like either Velma or HGS, but Helluva Boss has SOME THINGS in common, not ALL THINGS, but SOME)

2. "The Series isnt finished, you should wait for it to be done"

Now to an extent this one is ok. Like for example: If Aang from ATLA were going on a journey to learn how to Waterbend, Earthbend, and Firebend to defeat the Firelord, then obviously its gonna take awhile and shouldnt be like "wHy DoEsNt He BeAt HiM NOW!!!". BUT that does not mean you cant critisize the episodes where Aang might get out of character, Katara does something that will leave a bad taste in your mouth, or anything that might not be good writing.

Yes Helluva Boss isnt finished, but thats still a bad excuse for defending the writing. You should still put effort into the writing. Like the fight between Blitzø and Stolas was resolved in A TEXT MESSAGE AND PEOPLE SAY ITS GOOD WRITING. IT ISNT!!! Like if your most emotion point in your show is going to be resolved in something we dont see happen, then there is no growth to the characters. (Saying this is an easter egg is just another excuse for bad writing.) People say that later on it might get resolved and that we should be patient I call bull crap. In S2E2 Stolas and Blitzø are not even akward around eachother, so I highly doubt future episodes will talk about this.

Also, I just thought, shouldnt shows like Velma also go for its excuse? Like its getting a Season 2, so we shouldnt judge the show until its finished right? I dont wanna hear "Its because Velma ruined Scooby Doo!" Or "Velma is an acception since it can make my eyes role" Nope!!! We gotta wait till Velma is over to fully critisize it.

2.5 "You shouldnt be comparing VELMA to HELLUVA BOSS!!!"

Gonna bring this up since SOMEONE WILL. But I do NOT like Velma, I think its crap. I like Helluva Boss, not a fan of the stans and a lot of things Viv says and does. They can not take Critisism. She says she can but accually doesnt. And I kinda realize that there are some things Velma does that people role their eyes at, but when Helluva Boss does it, they get praised for it. Again, I 👏DO 👏NOT 👏LIKE 👏 VELMA. Im treating it equal to other shows, when Velma does something everyone hates it. When Helluva Boss does it everyone likes it. For example, the Swearing and Sex jokes. When Velma does it, people say that they swear and do sex jokes for no reason and it ruins the mood. But when Helluva Boss does it (Which keep in mind, 90% of the dialoug is sex and swearing.) It gets praised. Just wanted to point it out.

3. "Its Hell, what do you expect? 🤡"

I saved the best for last. Yall probably heard this one before lol. So, Im just gonna say that yes the characters do live in hell and that can lead to their bad behavior and cruel humor. The issue that I have is that will be used to defend bad writing. Yes they live in hell, but that doesnt mean 90% of the dialoug should be sex, swearing, and angst. Yknow the end of Unhappy Campers where Moxxie and Millie dressed as siblings and had sex on stage infront of minors? "But its hell!" Yes, BUT its out of character for Moxxie and Millie. MOXXIE ESPECIALLY!!!! ITS ALSO GROSS LIKE HOW IS THIS FUNNY?????

There are also double standards. For example when Stella turns out to be a abusive bish, we are made to suppose to hate her. But when Loona was abusive to her adoptive father who took her in and gave her love, we are suppose to laugh??? Also, dont say "But he threatened to replace her!" No, Loona brought it up AFTER she was attacking Blitzø and he roled along with it.

"But its Hell!!!" my butt. If Stella is abusive to make Stolas look like a justified character and her unlikeable, then why should I like Loona? And no, trauma is not an excuse. She is 22 and she has control of her own self.

And like??? If I were to write a story of some unlikeable guy in New York City who killed people for no reason, should my excuse be "Its society, what do you expect? This is life, get over it."

Conclusion

In conclusion, if you accually want to defend the writing of your horny demon show, then find accual critisms. Again, I👏 Like👏This👏Show. But when Fans and Viv shield any critisms and just see it as blind hate, it makes me upset. Most people who critisize this show like it. The thing is, if we praise or ignore something that needs to be critiqued, then the writing wont get any better. If we critisize it, then there is a chance that Viv will realize she needs to put effort into her wrighting.

I like this show, it inspired me, but Season 2 is such a downgrade from the previous season.

Quick thoughts (its not quick I lied). Was reading the Google doc on the animators reviews specifically spindlehorse and saw a LOT of terrible things done and said to LGBTQA+ people in spindlehorse. Its not even funny or anything the things artists mentioned is borderline harassment, homophobic and toxic in every sense. Vivienne can go on about how inclusive her studio is, how accepting her studio and fandom is, from actual word of mouth reviews its anything but that. And it does reflect back through the show and fandom. The show has TERRIBLE representation, handling of sensitive matters, full of stereotypes and won't hesitate to cash in on fetishising the characters in extention their sexuality through merch ect. And the fandom... homophobic in most aspects, if you hate the show even if you're queer yourself they'll go on to call you slurs, harass you, doxx you in some cases and its all tolerated because you went against Vivie/you just a hater/ ect bullshit reasons. So I don't expect anything better going on behind the scenes with staff if the show and fandom is this toxic.

Now I don't like to compare but damn if you look at the owl house. Yeah its a kids show but how it handled representation, sensitive topics, lore ect is 1000 times better than helluva and thats an adult show. Anyway how Dana and her team made the owl house was with pure love and care, many artists working on the owl house loved working there and what they made (dispite Disney's bull). And the fandom for the most part is really lovely, yeah there is toxic apples but its a lovely fandom overall. I can say none of those things on Vivziepop's show and fandom, and this bullshit reasoning of "you too sensitive" "its edgy humour" "if you don't like it Don't watch" fuck off. Homophobia, harassment, making light of serious topics like abuse, rape and neglect and feeding into toxic stereotypes/fetishising of LGBTQA+ people is disgusting fuck you for seeing all of that as acceptable to do.

Chai, anyway sorry for the rant just reading that doc, it hurts it really does my heart goes out to these artists and it pains I can't do more or bring Viv to actually justice because her clean up crew (bootlickers and staff members thats her besties) cover everything up.

So first of all, I bloody hate Helluva boss. I know I've written for it and still write for it but OMG I just don't like it at all and the direction its gone.

Like season one is good, I like it. Its amazing season to start off a seemingly good show with a lot of potential.

The villains are threatening and are set up to become major plot points. Verosika, Striker, The cherubs (which admittedly were the weakest out of the trio, But hey, you can't be perfect)

The conflicts are being set, Aka stolas and Blitzo's toxic relationship and it's struggles. It's got potential for a lot of nuance and oppertunities to explore gay relationships in a more abusive light and I can appreciate that a lot.

Characters arcs have been put into motion with Moxxies inferiority, Blitzo's need for validation and the star prophecy going on with stolas and his daughter.

The animation, The music and the voice acting are all on point with such high profile actors. Ahem ahem.. INVADER ZIM AND BEETLEJUICE!!

It was amazing, A major accomplishment for indie animation and the trailblazer that aet off the youtube animation reinessance.

But then season two comes along.

Right off the bat with the circus its suddenly revealed that stolas and blitzo knew each other from childhood.

This is confusing. Stolas and blitzo knowing each other starts to change their relationship from the toxic transactional it was suppose to explore into a more

This episode could've been great, If it was stella and not blitz. This episode could've explored the begginings of their relationship (platonic)

It was stated by octavia that they at one point liked each other then degraded. This episode couldve shown that and given stella some actual development.

Now throughout the season more issues become prevelant..

The villains that were threatening before have become nothing more than cannon fodder. A monster of the week, If you will. Striker and crimson (we're not gonna get into that episode) were easily defeated by blitz and fizzaroli (ILL GET ONTO HIM) making fun of them and removing all their threatening aura.

Verosika is gone, She might return, Idk tho. The cherubs we'e heard nothing from either. And do NOT get me started on the new villains. (The agents, Crimson, Andrealphus)

The women in helluva are EXTREMELY underdeveloped. There are no girls that stand on their own, Just another limb for the male characters to further their own arcs (Millie is just Moxxies concious, Octavia is just Stolas' reason for staying and Loona is just there tobexplore Blitzo's abandonment issues

Millie especially. The only episode she got out of two seasons is unhappy campers. And even then she had to be a boy to get the praise, It feels like the writers were self aware at that poimt.

Her only personality is violence and moxxie, Thats it.

(I have a lot more to say about Helluva boss, Such as the awful story. The woobification of stolas and Blitzo. The humour. The gay overglorification. Fizzaroli and Asmodeus. The rushed pacing and the non-existant set up)

The newest episode I genuinley disliked, One of my least favourite in the season.

I feel like this was the writers grasping at straws. To make a story and an arc, You've got to set it up.

We had no idea that Fizzaroli was connected to Mammon in any way, We had no hints or suggestion that he was. Nor did we have any hints of his underlying arc about wanting to be free.

For instance this can be done through dialogue or the characters body language. We got none of this and instead this was just pulled out of the writers asses.

I dont care for fizzaroli, I hate him apart from his voice actor. To me, He's boring and just a recoloured blitz.

The whole episode was the setup and the solution. This should not of been the case, This was rushed and this episode should of been the solution of the hinted issue in previous episodes like the one where they got kidnapped.

(That was a great chance to talk about being free, Since yk, They were in a cage and it would of prompted a deeper conversation)

It feels like a reheated angel dust and valentino but platonic im ngl. Besides, Fizz and ozzie's relationship is just not good.

Its too sickly sweet. Im not saying it has to all be angst but a spat or an arguement to prompt the episode wouldve been good you know? All healthy relationships have their rocky parts and it wouldve been nice to see here.

Asmodeus and Mammon just dont seem threatening for demon kings? They take insults and jabs that really degrade their intimidation for the audience yk?

The whole episode boils down to "clown twink gets abused by capitalism"

Overall I ranted too long about this animated show. The episode was not good and the future for this series is looking bleak.

Ok so, I want to talk about this real quick because it really bothers me, and I hope someone out there (Helluva Boss shitter of course) can hear me out on this one.

Insta, TikTok, Twitter really said to me “fuck you, we’re giving you this show that you keep avoiding, because you suck and have no point of living” I’m tired, it’s to the point where I have to say “not interested” or “block” to any Helluva/Hazbin post. IT STILL KEEPS COMING BACK FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TIKTOK GIMME SOMETHING GOOD.

But yeah, here’s my main thing about this rant. I’m trying to find inspiration for my Hellhound right? (Which is mad sigma and a badass, better hellhound that could beat the living shit out of any of Viv’s hellhounds). So I go to any social media that I have and type in “Hellhound oc” to find inspiration right?

Guess what guys!!!!! I bet ya didn’t guess!!!! You see Helluva Boss hellhounds all over the feed, I can’t even cope rn holy shit 😭 this show is literally like my torture I can’t physically be okay with this show. I’m done seeing these red eyed furries PELASE LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE

Helluva Boss season 2 episode 4 Rant Review IDK but be prepared to hate me Stolas/Stoliz lovers

Okay guys I'm not gonna come down from the high of seeing my baby Striker so I might as well get this review out the way while it's still fresh on my mind ^^

Striker my gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous snake boy you've done me proud !!! Love how bad ass he looked with the Pancho it further feeds my head canon that Striker is Mexica {yall free to disagree but thats my personal head canon} !!!

The fighting scene guys I loved how smart and agile Striker is. The way he used the environment to his advantage as well as all parts of his body.

Feet, arms, tails, hell he was amazing with both the rope guns knife it showed Striker isn't just good with his body but also different types of weapons.

Hell rewatching the fight scene and imma be honest Striker has more experience with his body as well as weapons than millie and moxxie.

Again the way he used his body showed guns weren't the only weapon he had the environment the way striker used everything from Millies ax sticking on the ground to the railroad tracks showed how he uses his surroundings to work for him and the weapons showed this guy is a deadly fighter and not one to be messed with.

And once again, once again my boy is spitting facts !!! I said it once and I'll say it again my boy sees Hell for what it is and how he and his people are at the bottom of the barrel and he's not afraid to do what he sees is right if it means saving his people.

Argue with the wall yall fuckers aren't gonna change my mind about Striker and his actions.

Now onto his personality okay I know some people don't like the unhinged way he is but if I'm honest it was good granted I would've loved this to be seen as the show progressed but I guess I'll take this wit a grain of salt.

Okay I may anger some of my fellow striker lovers but I did not like his new voice honestly I'm still gonna use Norman's voice when I read fanfic cause I loved how Norman voiced my boy and that's the voice I'm sticking wit ^^

Speaking of voices yall I did not like Stella's brothers VA like that art style with that voice did not fit him, gonna be honest I was imagining something like Stolas not that.

Also side note did something happen wit Lunas VA i saw a post talking about it but exsit out Tumblr before I could like or reblog it.

I also hated how they reduced Stella into I don't even know what to call that mess cause you mean to tell me this woman is once again treated like a 1 dimensional wet piece of paper that can't think for herself and is just a spoil brat ??? !!!

Like Viv keeps adding these characters that are big and bad but are just become a joke towards the end.

Welp, I’m probably going to piss off Stolatz shippers once again, but I wanted to just saying small, a huge HUGE issue I had with episode 7 of Helluva Boss. Now, I don’t necessarily talk about Stolatz anymore, because I honestly don’t care, like...what’s the point? I’m not really passionate enough to express how toxic these two are and how Stolas is in the wrong MORE than blitz, because let’s be honest, most of this fandom doesn’t listen to those statements. However, I will discuss how the writers treated Stolas in episode 7, and how he was with Blitzo.

I think everyone can agree that there’s a huge difference in Stolas’s behavior towards Blitzo in the events of episode 7. From the pilot to episode 6, Stolas has been nothing but a horny pervert, a person who sees Blitz as his “play thing”, to get his hard on and have a good time. Whenever he interacted with blitz then, it was nothing but over the top sexual flirting, expressing how lustful he is towards this imp, and how he’s “the only one who can fuck him”. Previous to episode 7, we saw Stolas come in to say the day, with blitz “rewarding him” with a kiss. A LUSTFUL kiss, not an affectionate and passionate kiss. Apparently this fandom saw that as Blitz being in love with Stolas, so I genuinely do not think these people know the difference between love and lust. However, I’m here to talk about STOLAS, not blitz. So, during episode 7, Blitz asks Stolas to come with him to Ozzie’s so he can get him, using him. Stolas, for the first time is genuinely....moved. He’s happy and excited, hearts in his eyes when he’s asks Blitz if this is a date. Once Stolas arrives, he dresses all fancy, but instead of his usual flirty and over the top sexual banter.....there’s NONE of that here.

Rather than flirting with Blitzo, Stolas here is....actually nervous. Despite wearing a nice looking outfit, we see that he’s struggling. He says that this is their first date, indicating that he thinks he should actually try and have a normal human interaction with the other. Once they sit down, Stolas...goes all out. He doesn’t grope Blitz, he doesn’t make sexual remarks, instead, he asks him what wine he wants, how his day was, and what made him finally ask to take him out. So...after all this time, Stolas is finally TRYING. He’s finally treating Blitzo like a human being, who has feelings, and his own life. So.....out of all these times, why does Stolas NOW decide he wants to try? And that’s my issue. Why is he trying? Why is he acting like he’s suddenly now IN LOVE with blitz, why is he acting like he genuinely CARES about him and his well being? You’re going to tell me that Stolas NOW finally cares about Blitz in a non sexual way?

So, I’m going to address the elephant in the room. If you asked this fandom why Stolas was suddenly acting like he’s in love with Blitz in this episode, chances are, you’d probably get the answer “WHAT DO YOU MEAN? STOLAS HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN LOVE WITH BLITZ”. Yeah......No❤️.

Now I’m not going to rant, because I can’t stress this enough, it’s been said so many times, and I find it so funny that some of the fandom think this creepy Owl birb has always had “feelings” for Blitz, when the answer is so FREAKING OBVIOUS. Stolas has done nothing....NOTHING but flirt with Blitzo sexually. Not only does he crave this man for sex SO much to the point that he’ll give up his OWN book that’s apparently really important to him, BUT HE ALSO is willing to go so far as to ruin his relationship with his own daughter and wife. Whenever Stolas is on freaking SCREEN with Blitz, it’s just flirting. No “how are you” no “how was your day, how are things?” No talking about ANYTHING else, just “UWU BLITZY YOU’RE SO SEXY I CAN’T WAIT TO FUCK.” Thats how it is from the pilot to episode 6. THAT’S how much this imp dick means to him. And yes, I say “imp dick” and NOT “Blitz”, because let’s PLEASE be real as a society for 5 seconds. Stolas doesn’t WANT Blitzo because he likes his personality, enjoys being around him ect, he likes him because he thinks he’s attractive, and a good fuck, hence why he won’t go to anyone else for it. If you’re in a relationship where all your partner does is just talk about sex, flirts with you sexually, and won’t even LET UP when you express how much you dislike this, THAT’S NOT LOVE. THAT’S LUST. If they LOVED you, they would respect you as a fucking PERSON, and treat you like one, not some damn sex toy.

And that’s EXACTLY how Stolas treats Blitzo. Like some sex slave, not a real person. This show is for ADULTS. It’s aimed at adults and yet people can’t seem to grasp the difference between love and lust, even though episode 7 LITERALLY CALLED STOLAS OUT ON THIS.

Yeah. Ozzie literally jabs at Stolas for how he treats blitz ONLY for lust, yet this episode AT THE SAME time tries to convince us he’s in love with him??? You could say that the writing is trying to go “While Stolas loves blitz, he never treated him correctly and always saw him as an object, and now he’s paying the price for it”. And...I mean that’s how I WISH the writing seemed, but not really. While the episode calls out Stolas for his shitty actions, the scene with blitz snapping at him seems to scream “NOO BLITZ DON’T PUSH PEOPLE AWAY, CAN’T YOU SEE? STOLAS LOOOVES YOU.” And I’m not making this shit up either, because most people in the fandom seem to blame BLITZ for pushing Stolas away when he literally had EVERY right to tell him to fuck off. The thing about Stolas in the writing department seems to be a lot like Angel when it comes to Viv’s take on him. While both characters are HORRIBLE people, instead of them paying the price (and NO, when I say that I’m NOT referring to Val) Viv instead tries to either give them a sobby backstory or have bad things happen to them so we can instantly feel bad, when I don’t feel bad for EITHER of these characters. Angel is a selfish narcissistic horny sex maniac, as well as an asshole and a murderer, and Stolas is a creepy horny pervert who only cares about HIS benefit.

But I’m getting off topic. The POINT to all of this is, the feelings Stolas has developed for blitz, the way he acted towards him during the events of episode 7 were ALL out of NOWHERE. There’s no Indication whatsoever to what made him act the way he acted. Stolas has always treated blitz like a sex toy, yet in episode 7 he’s SUDDENLY cares. It feels like these feelings developed OFF screen, because episode 7 CLEARY doesn’t match with the other episodes regarding how Stolas treats Blitz. But....WHO CARES? Stolatz IS CANON, so that’s all the fans seem to care about. It doesn’t matter if the writing is atrociously lazy and forced simply because Viv wants to push these two so hard as if this is the freaking series finale of Star Vs. The Forces of Evil with Starco, as long as the ship is canon and it’s SAID that they’ve developed feelings for one another, the fandom will believe it, so I guess that’s all that matters in the end. Would have been really INTERESTING TO ACTUALLY SEE Stolas realize he loves Blitz romantically, but nah, that apparently needed to happen off screen. Viv, you can’t just have a character act one way and then change them the next simply because it’s everyone’s favorite ship, you still need to put the EFFORT in regardless, but that’s not what we got here.

And if you tell me that Stolas really did love blitz the entire time, fine, but one thing needs to be clear. Stolas DOES NOT know how to properly love someone. I despise blitz as a character, but he had EVERY right to push Stolas away.

HELLA LONG VILLANOS RANT PRO/CON

Anyone else tired of checking the villanos/villainous tag on here only to be met with unpopular opinions of it? Everyone has a right to their own opinion and on some things I agree. But HS, the criticisms boil down to a couple of things.

1. It wasn't what some people were expecting. Or rather it wasn't what they wanted it to be and are giving Alan and crew flack about it. (Its basically the WandaVision theorists upset that their predictions weren't canon)

2. Nitpicky stuff they dont like, like comparing characters' color tones from them and now, background shades, the insta story lines, parodying tik tok egirls, etc.

3. The misunderstanding of just how hard this project was hit to begin with, from it being made for CNLA (not even an American property, the fact that it got to be included in V&V and the CN Nexus special is huge for what they're working with), to not comprehending how economic situations are just flat out different in Mexico than in the U.S. and literally any job there is bound have something like that (even trying to explain they know better. They don't) not to mention the pandemic threw it all off schedule. The fact its still being worked on is a miracle at this point.

4. Ultimately it is a probs that they're just impatient at this point and just want to harshly criticize to distance themselves as publicly as they can and not set themselves up for disappointment.

This is not a hate post, in fact I'm just as impatient and agree on some points (particularly the length of time it takes and how the original crew was let go.) Theres a lot more stuff going on behind the scenes

But the two absolutely, most annoying things are the constant comparisons it gets to Vivziepop's works like they're a cut better in general or as proof that a series has to be like hers. To which can be easily argued that Helluva Boss is the equivalent of the Orientation videos. In which they're not the big BIG project, but a side thing meant to introduce the world at large for Villanos and Hazbin. I've seen people say that Villainous hasn't had any original footage which is total bs, because compiling all the shorts, pilot, crossovers, promotional material, secretive material, and the orientarion videos themselves clearly knock that point down.

And secondly that these criticisms have been used to turn speculations on the behind the scenes going ons into flat out lies, as if having parts of the story or even an idea of it and making it seem like the worst alternative is the only conclusion. There was an initial account, Nightfur I believe, that did the same thing except made themselves only making positive spins on the going ons which I admit is hella weird, but Petite is essentially doing the same thing on the opposite spectrum of it and honestly equally self righteous.

I'm not saying they don't have a right to their opinions, and to a certain extent, the fact that Petite's opinions are currently the what pops up most on the Villanos tag really speaks on the lack of Villainous content so on the time management she has point. I am just saying that she doesn't have to ruin it for everyone else with (my opinion) weak hot-take criticisms.

Honestly this rant comes from a place where I do enjoy what the series has so far. Not just in the personalities of the characters, but the comedy, the fact that its a Mexican made series (which one of this size has not existed on CN, idk what others they claim exist: El Tigre and Mucha Lucha were American Studio made), the little puzzles that can be deciphered in Spanish which I like that they were that way in the beginning but can accept its going to inevitably include English too. I like this phase of pre-series decoding and deciphering, and not having to full picture yet because I want to enjoy and learn about the lore in this story bit by bit. And many do to. Others don't like it thats fine and have every right to dislike the series and make their own conclusions on what happens behind the scenes.

The rest of us are just gonna keep vibin with clues, updates, and the existing content until the show drops. I have high hopes for it. I mean OTGW took a longer time to make and become what it ultimately ended up being and don't even get me started on the Gravity Falls and Steven Universe Hiatus'.

Other than that yea. This has been held in for a while but eh just had to vent and let it out. Feels better. Have a good one.

Notes on Defending Jacob ep.4 (for fun lol, also not spoiler free)

This post is gonna be shorter (maybe lol) than the first one cause it's just one episode this time around! Definitely not crying about that 😅

Just a reminder, I'm not a pro and this isn't really a review, but I am shoved rather far up Chris Evans' bum, soooooo that should tell you everything you need to know before you read these notes (or any I make in the future) 🤣😋

I knew the swimming scene was coming in this episode but damn, right off the bat huh? I'm okay with the heart attack tho so no sweat 🤣

Laurie sitting in her car in the parking lot outside the store, immediately I knew why, and I think a lot of us did too. It was so sad to see. Really places us inside the depth of the situation, even if its such a small action, it speaks volumes. Poor thing must have been tired physically and mentally. My heart got torn in two every time I saw her on screen throughout the episode. I just wanna give her a damn hug 😩😭

The juxtaposition of Andy and Laurie's faces during the meeting with Joanna, while subtle, says a helluva lot about how they feel. It was such amazing facial acting. Its clear from their expressions alone, who knows the story is bs and probably will admit it, and who also knows the story is bs, but definitely won't admit it.

The way Jacob and Joanna bounced off of each other as he continued his (bs) story, was intense, and the score added to it. Jacob's rising nerves led to mine doing the same, and I even found myself trying to figure out how he could have told the story better. Joanna's expression, the 'this lie ain't shit' one, was also quite influential. Like, you wanna help this 14 year old kid, but he can't even help himself and shit just keeps piling up.

Andy babe I know thats your kid, you wanna protect and coddle him but the police was the appropriate choice of contact. And clearly theres some deeper shit going down. He didn't call you or anyone else because it's not as it seems.

"Our memories are often less reliable than we think, particularly in moments of stress" PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who immediately thought of Laurie's memory of Jacob at the bowling alley. Like obviously it was a 3 second scene, and it seemed pretty telling, but what if that's only part of it? Or what if shes not remembering it the way it went down? Like, her kid was accused of murder, and what she thinks would make it make sense might be plaguing her and being twisted by her, because of stress and fear.

My immediate reaction to Laurie's rant at Jacob was to yell "I'M SORRY" 😭 legit felt like sis was reading ME the riot act. Stress is just piling up on her and she will not have her kid acting like everything has no reason to be the way it is. Waiting in parking lots for groceries to open is not normal, having all your friends alienate you is not normal, being the talk of the town for negative reasons is not normal. So sit tf down, eat your unseasoned food and stop complaining.

In that one moment, for Andy, everything was okay as he and Jacob sat watching the movie. Until, he realized everything wasn't okay. He just had to remember that his kid, who sat there, care free, laughing at the film, was gonna be on trial for murder. It's as easy to forget as it is to remember. Seeing Andy's face change so subtly, from a smile to worried gaze, broke my heart.

Andy saying 'of course not' when Laurie asked if there was a part of him that thinks he might have done it. Who was he trying to convince?

That acting in the scene where Andy met Matthew? That perfect mix of chill and resolve (for lack of better word) in the way Andy spoke? The 'don't fuck with me' energy that radiated off of him? Where is the Emmy?? WHERE IS IT???

Andy's just getting increasingly desperate and its lowkey unsettling. Idc if hes a snacc, dude is being a little ridiculous and needs to do himself a favor and see things from his wife's perspective. I know it may be hard but I don't even wanna imagine where his denial is gonna take him. Also the protectiveness leading him to burst into his kid's room in a very embarrassing way was...cringe 😅

As much as I wanted Laurie to have felt normal for once since everything went down, even for a fucking hour or two, I lowkey was waiting for some shit to happen in the diner. It just seemed too good to be true. The heartbreak/shock on Laurie's face when she found out was too real.

I'm interested to see Andy's meeting with his dad. I know its gonna be difficult/uncomfortable and the amazing acting I know we're gonna see will convey that really well. Also lowkey some shade from Laurie in that scene, I love 🤣

first of all, in the words of the late great biliam hargrove: nobody tells me what to do.

second of all, the fucking stupid ass music number that got my mens killed is absolutely going the fuck in the garbage can where it belongs

i really didnt have a lot of problems with this season as far as what everyones individual plots where. like, i LOVED joppers arc (until the fucking end), i liked jancys (though i feel like they really didnt do a lot in terms of it. i thought we were gonna get way more in terms of the sexism nancy faced at work. it just... felt weak. and all we saw from jonathan was him developing his pictures. i just needed... more)

im not interested in the kids so whatever they were doing i couldnt care less about BUT i will say will shouldve been more involved with the mindflayer stuff like... besides the whole neck tingles business (mindflayer asmr) he really took a back seat and that just.... doesnt make any sense to me.

instead of that fuck ass billy and karen nonsense that time shouldve been used at the beginning to actually SHOW us max and billys development and where they stood as siblings rather than just shoehorning in her crying about him once he was possessed. 

and dustin being away from the party still makes no sense to me. i know everyones got a hardon for steve and dustins bromance but im not one of them and that entire subplot in itself was the most boring thing to me this season like i truly could not have cared less about that about that either. and honestly now reflecting back on it.... the whole notion of a secret russian facility being under the mall and these dopey ass kids just stumbling into it is so hokey but whatever

billy and eleven absolutely needed more scenes. i was fully expecting to have like... a deeper connection between the two of them. i was expecting for us to get eleven going into billys mind and being able to actually talk to him and interact with him and us seeing that billy was struggling trying to fight this thing inside him that he has no fucking clue what it is and hes so scared. speaking of which, i was also expecting to see scenes of billy at home struggling with trying to keep this a secret because he has no idea whats happening to him. like... dacre fucking crushed it with all the acting he did showing us how billy was struggling in such subtle manners, dont get me wrong. but i think we needed more of that on a bigger scale for his ending to have any actual payoff.

also the fact that you have billy being possessed, living in a house with an abusive father, and we got NOTHING of that ?? what ??? bad call. BAD call.

and the season needed more focus on the fact that billys just a kid in all this. hes a PERSON. i’ll keep ranting about this but the fact that NO ONE tried to figure out a way to help him.... it was literally just “is he the mindflayer? welp. gotta kill him now i guess”. so gross. like even the people who hate billy and are still like “are we supposed to feel bad for him?” I DONT KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN TO YOU THAT HE’S A HUMAN BEING AND HE DOESNT DESERVE TO FUCKING DIE JUST BECAUSE HE WAS MEAN SOMETIMES! THATS NOT HOW THE WORLD WORKS TIFFANY! but anyway

the fact that steve just rammed into billys car and left him to die in a fiery blaze.... is so out of character to me? lmfao like literally all you needed to do was have steve ram into his car and then notice its billy and have a typical steve harrington freak out like “oh my god. OH MY GOD?” wouldve loved to see SOMEONE struggle with the fact that yeah everybody hates billy but like... you cant just let him die ??? lmfao that is truly the most infuriating part of this entire season. just...nobody fucking cared. even if only for max’s sake. nobody fucking cared it was her brother going through all this. trash. all of them. it also wouldve been nice to see billy apologizing to steve and lucas in his final moments too like nobody rushed down to console max? lmfao okay.... fake ass friends

im also upset that hopper dies after being away from eleven the entire season like.... ugh. like i said, i loved joppers arc and their scenes (along with billys) are by far and away my favorite this season but...it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth the way hopper went out. i mean, his death overall does feel wrapped up like i think the duffers handled it a helluva lot better than they handled billys but...the fact that hopper was the first parent el had that treated her right and took her in and gave her a home and stability... and they barely had any time together leading up to his death... i dont like it.

also the whole flayed plot went pretty much nowhere like..... all these people get infected or whatever just to be led to their deaths to turn to goo and like.... oh... kay ??? the trailer made it seem like they were some type of zombie agents idk i expected something more chaotic to take place. what we got just felt anticlimactic to me.

this season as a whole just left me wanting more. and not in the “oh i cant wait for season 4!” way. but in the way “couldnt yall have done something else with your time?” way. i think this season really couldve benefited from having one or two extra episodes. or maybe even just longer episodes. AND WITH THE TIME YALL DID HAVE WE DIDNT NEED BILLY AND KAREN AND FUCKING MUSICAL NUMBER THE END

OH! and the mayor kline shit.... what? that shit felt like it went nowhere too like...that definitely needed to be explored more. i dont even remember what is reasoning was to be in bed with the russians. wasnt it just about money? like.... he wasnt even really involved ? the fuck was that about. no bueno. 

but most importantly billy should have been at scoops to taunt steve about his sailor uniform if the duffers had just given me that i could forgive everything else but they didnt so here we are the end

Hey Ya’ll Bitches Better Listen TF Up Bc Ive Got Some Fuckin Feelings About Beauty and the Beast

This is a warning to fuckin stop saying beauty and the beast is a “stolkholm syndrome story”. Cuz Im fucking tired.

And yknow, I could go on about the definitions of stolkholm syndrome and how it totally does not reflect the disney story, or how the beast is literally the opposite of an abusive lover because he actually owns up to his assholery and changes and thats what makes belle love him, but I’m not. Because those other links put it way better than I could.

No, what I’m gonna motherfuckin rant about is that all these jokes and critiques about stolkholm syndrome in beauty and the beast is throwing Belle’s amazing and wonderful autonomy out the window.

Belle is my favorite disney princess because she stood up for herself and changed her life, she never quit trying, she was never some helpless captive and she was never just her beauty.

Beauty in disney films mean a lot of things; kindness, compassion, purity and smiles, not just physical beauty. And despite her namesake, the opening number that introduces us to Belle clearly tells us she isn’t beautiful. Or rather, she would be beautiful if she wasn’t so odd. 

Belle is kind and pretty, yes, but she’s stubborn to a fault, headstrong, indifferent to the etiquette of a small sleepy 1800s french town, and doesn’t really care about anything except reading. Really, the only one who finds her totally attractive is Gaston only because he doesn’t care about anything but looks. 

And when she, willingly I might add you, stays in the beast’s castle she is anything but a damsel in distress. Hell, the turning point of her and the beast’s relationship is when she freaking ups and runs away, which it’s implied she always was able to do but stayed for her father’s sake, and the beast only chases after her to go and save her from the wolves. Which he gets gravely wounded from. Which makes her warm up to him.

At that point, belle can fuckin leave. She knows the beast wont stop her, and she only got in trouble with those wolves because she was leaving in a hurry, at night, in a snowstorm. Yknow, because she wasn’t taking the beasts shit anymore. But she stays! And thats the thing! This woman who doesn’t really care about any other human besides her father takes an interest in the beast because “now he’s sweet, and so unsure,” and she sings how really he’s always been like that.

And let’s look at the early interactions the beast had with belle. He tried pretty hard to at least be decent to her, letting her stay in a nice room, letting her roam the castle except for his private quarters, trying to invite her to dinner. He’s pretty fuckin awkward about it, and has a helluva temper, but my god does he try and try again.

AND THATS WHAT BELLE LIKES IN HIM! His willingness to open up, to admit he’s wrong, to do the right thing. Lord knows no one in her quiet little village ever had the decency to take an interest in what she likes. Even the bookshop owner was kind of baffled by her, but the beast just takes it all in stride and even learns how to read from her! Thats what anyone would love! Thats what someone like belle would love and to take her autonomy of choosing the beast is pretty fuckin sexist and I don’t just say that lightly! It’s very sexist! Don’t deny everything that belle has done in the film!

I mean fuck, lets look to the antagonist of the movie and how he differs from the beast so much! Gaston is arrogant and vain, doesn’t care about others yet expects everyone to care about him, hmmm, kinda sounds like a prince who would throw an old ugly woman out into the cold and rain. It’s that difference, between a man who never changes and never accepts his errors and a beast who struggles but ultimately changes everything about himself into someone who cares about others, which is the driving force of the climax fight. Where belle says to Gaston that he is the true monster, not the beast.

And the story isnt over there, nor is my rant. Because here’s the biggest part. We have the beast about to die, the last petal about to fall, and belle finally says out loud her final choice of the movie. She says she loves the beast, for all his flaws, for all his strengths, for everything. A stolkholm syndrome isn’t enough to break the curse, it is only broken if someone can truly love the beast for himself, and he loves in return. That is the message of the story, loving others for themselves, finding someone who loves you for you, and changing through love for the better. 

In conclusion, Belle is a badass princess. Fuck you.
