#listen. in order to enjoy detective conan you need to either be #1. obsessed with a very specific very japanese brand of detective drama and an equally specific equally japanese brand of slowburn romance #OR 2. a clinically insane fujoshi willing to overlook half-brother incest.#i have an actual literal chart in order to keep track of the character relationships at this point #and i havent even read the manga in a while so im sure its worse now #like half of the cases are either realistically impossible to solve or so fundamentally ridiculous it makes you insane #and another 20% are completely unitelligible to an english audience #because they rely on either codes based on the japanese language or some niche aspect of japanese culture or folklore #that would take several hours of research to fully understand. i know this from experience.#at least one CANONICAL couple are cousins #and it does that shounen manga thing where the author cant lose their steady income stream #so the story is prolonged through increasingly insane and convoluted plot points that only just barely feel coherent.#despite the fact that it's been going for like 30 years now the characters will literally never change or experience growth of any kind #shinichi kudo is an in-universe genius who has been trying and failing to make the same easy decision for THIRTY REAL LIFE YEARS.#i remember when he and ran FINALLY got together. which if i remember correctly was in literally the thousandth chapter #i was completely convinced up until the end of the arc that it was some sort of fakeout #because it is literally the only example in the entire series of those two changing the narrative significantly through their actions #I actually stopped my most recent reread because a major plot twist made so little sense it made me legitimately angry #all that being said. i am the kind of person who enjoys japanese detective dramas and slowburn romance #occasionally the comedy is REALLY good in a ridiculous sort of way #and if you can get yourself to fully buy into the absolutely insane framing circumstances a lot of the major overarching plot is good #but you just. you really have to overlook A LOT to get there. im not sure if i could do it if i hadn't seen the first few seasons as a kid #unfortunately i imprinted on shinichi kudo at a very young age. so. here we are #asks

#i like to have everyone in a distinguishable colour but it's tough when everyone is so SEARINGLY PALE #kuya eiden and yakumo all get a bit more yellow in their skin #so they at least have that going for them #I'll still furrow my brow when yakumo and kuya are in the same pic tho. who's paler? eurgh....#i guess peepaw. he seems the type to skincare himself into ghostly white translucent skin oblivion #then quincy and garu can be tanner than most others. bc they're outside boys #but if i have oli/edmond/rei/blade/aster all in the same pic #I'm going to crumple like the weakest wettest littl biscuit #theyre all more pink toned in their skin BUT HOW DO I DECIDE WHO'S DARKER #why do i even make them more pink toned? based off what? it's not canon so why am i making things difficult for myself #'you know. sometimes people can have the same skintone'#yesyes I KNOW i just like the patchwork rainbow medley look 😟#i have 2 sides biting and hissing at each other #1 wants to make blade's skin darker to contrast more with his hair #2 wants to make blade inhumanly white so he has the extra robot power on his side #inconsistency is key. i will just have to do what i want #and also mourn for every drawing that only has characters Pale and Paler #or i just give up completely and only colour their hair #yall are transparent now except for your hair.#transparent on the liminal white background of nothingness #problem solved

#yeah you certainly proved to me that i m wrong about my assumptions about you :)#threatening a fictional character with forced labour is actually very different than doing it with people #just fyi #arcane critical #like can you imagine that i absolutely loved season 1 and season 2 simply... failed to engage with its own themes in a meaningful way #“arcane isnt about revolution” then why create a system so violent and unjust that only a revolution can resolve these issues?#why put french revolution imagery into the show?#why show that any kind of political organising gets violently crushed with even kids ending up in jail?#why show the class conscious in zaun rising?#its like the writers accidentally wrote a setup so well suited for a revolution without realising it #so now every end reaffirming the status quo is deeply unsatisfying #'breaking the cycle of violence' is propaganda of those who are being benefited by the violent system itself #arcane season two is fascinating because of all of these issues #and it shows how the writers wrote themselves into a corner through not understanding the issues they wrote into their own story #if you include severe police brutality but the only way it gets 'solved' is through caitvi #than thats just not using your setup right #anyway

Are you me??? I literally left a reply on someone's post about wanting to see Lucifer more in season 2 and being scared it's not gonna happen cuz he's so OP and the main character is charlie and she has to solve her own problems

and I just went in with a reply like "OKAY BUT WHAT IF HE GETS TO TRAIN HER???" That solves both problems???? We get to see more of him AND Charlie gets to problem solve without him needing to just OP his way through the story

seriously tho the exact thought that's been on loop in my head is Charlie accidentally activates some sort of mega-angel beam or whatever, hits Lucifer in full, and she just panics CUZ OMG DAD, DID I JUST KILL YOU??? and then from the pile of rubble, Lucifer sticks out a thumbs up and you hear a muffled "THAT WAS AMAZING SWEETIE DO IT AGAIN"

#there’s something so different about this episode’s writing I can’t point my finger on it #but it’s genius #like wdym the bracelet 1) shows morgana’s treason 2) shows morgana’s trust in arthur’s ability to complete this quest unless stopped #3) makes it possible for merlin and gwaine to catch up to arthur and also 4) makes arthur unconscious so merlin can be a dragonlord in peac #+ 5) the gift forthe fisher king!!#the only way I can describe it is if they started writing based on a problem to solve instead of a solution that has to work at the cost of #quality storytelling #incredible work and it’s not even the first episode that makes me feel like this #merlin #bbc merlin

#flight rising #fr #like skins. but you dont have to keep dragon lineart n shadows. and can go out of bounds of the dragon #i think it sounds really fun in theory but a bit of a complicated mess in execution #amd would give staff a new challenge right after the skins were steamlined #id say custom apparel would need to be separate from real apparel but not sure how thatd effect layering #do you think itd be in pieces like. head. body. wings. arms. extras. etc #or would it be like skins n accents where 1 custom apparel could be a whole outfit and another “accent” option where itd be one or two items #idk. its fun to think on the potential. its a shame itd be a nightmare to implement realistically #oo what if only ancients could have custom apparel. thatd solve layering issues lol

the way I almost sent my work laptop crashing to the ground at speed was both an accident and kind of appropriate

#I'm TIRED of this grandpa #nobody in our group is feeling the upcoming training/class #telomirage.txt #lmao I got another '[redacted] agent has detected that this computer should be rebooted' notification. absolutely the fuck not #LEAVE ME ALONE. every time I get one of these an angel loses its wings #sometimes it forces me to reboot AT LEAST EIGHT TIMES IN A DAY #you can wait!!! also sometimes the updates that get forced down from corporate break our equipment lol #one time it took our main [redacted] out for an entire shift of production and I was only able to solve the problem thanks to one (1)#article I found on [redacted] vault by accident #at that point it was 10 pm and three of us working on it got up and left 😂😭

sometimes I believe that My tendency to avoid telling My family when I'm having health issues is just the result of avoidant cognitive distortions, but then I actually do it, get told that it's "normal" and/or a lifestyle issue, and realize the real cognitive distortion was expecting help at all -_-

#personal #I'm struggling to breathe and My heart rate is high. inhaler doesn't help. go tell My mom about it and she says #1. try again. 2. drink water. 3. eat a mint. 4. I'm getting fat #and then last time I told her about this same issue she said #1. I have anxiety from too much silence (I'm auditorily hypersensitive? noise gives Me anxiety not the other way around)#2. I'm so sedentary that it's only natural that standing up would give Me tachycardia (I obviously stand up multiple times a day everyday)#3. I don't need a therapist (which I've been asking for) I need a physician #and it's just a ton of excuses to deny what I'm saying. because how is it just in My head but I need a physician?? make up your mind #am I crazy or sick. it's literally just whatever makes Me look like I need the least intervention in that moment #medical neglect is a bitch man. it's not even that she doesn't want Me to be healthy. she absolutely does #but she just never wants to believe that it's THAT bad. I can't have anxiety because it's just cabin fever #I can't be delusional because I'm just spiritually gifted. I can't have an arrhythmia because I'm just fat. so on and so forth #she constantly doubts that I'm doing anything for My health on My own (I literally asked for a fitness boxing game this christmas #and yet she doesn't believe that I exercise in My own time until I outright tell her)#and never believes that I'm suffering beyond something that can easily be solved. it's so patronizing #she acts like I've never heard of breathing exercises for anxiety or exercise for hypertension. everyone knows that!!#you acknowledge that I know so much EXCEPT when Me being knowledgeable on a subject would mean that I'd be able to recognize when My health #is failing. once she said she thought I had hypochondria as a child and I increasingly believe that influences how she sees My health today #she said she never told a doctor because she didn't want Me to be dismissed in adulthood and yet she does that same thing to Me #and honestly I do get anxious about My health! I developed contamination OCD when I was fucking eight!#but that doesn't mean that I'm just being compulsive whenever I suggest a need for medical/psychiatric attention!

Trying. Fighting. To put together a missing link testament quote list. Its super fun because all 3 lists i know of have something wrong with them. But 1 of the lists says that 1 of their damage lines is 馬鹿な. Baka na. Thats also 1 of their damage lines in ggx. They reuse a lot of their ml lines in ggx so im willing to believe it but oh my god how did you get that from this fucking audio.

I assume they only got it since its a ggx voice line too. Because this sucks. Their missing link voice is so cute but like this sucks.
