Darkside Disney Princesses: Belle

(Edit-put my original picture for her under the cut)

(So this one does rely somewhat on the backstories made up for my DisneyVerse versions of the parents of both Belle and the Beast. But I think it still has good precedent because of the whole Belle and Rumplestiltskin thing that happens in OUAT)

In the Darkside version of Belle's tale, Felipe never makes it back to the village to let Belle know something has happened to Maurice, either he gets lost in the woods, or the wolves find him again. And so Belle waits patiently for him to return. Waits, and waits, and waits…

Finally a month has passed, and Belle is desperate to find out what's happened to her father. With no way to know where along his journey he went missing though, she has no way to know where to start looking. And the town isn’t too worried about chasing after “Crazy Old Maurice”, gone into the blue.

Her own circumstances are getting dire as well, without Maurice there to bring in their little income from helping repair the villages various items, her resources are running low. She's taken in sewing or whatever small work people might give her, but its a small town after all, and the people are used to doing their own labor, and couldn't pay her much besides.

The kinder townsfolk give her what they can, but with winter coming on they've got to look out for themselves and their own families

Of course, there's always Gaston's ready offer of marriage, but Belle isn't that desperate. Yet.

Her refusals don't stop him from coming over and offering nearly every day, and they certainly spur him into making sure the town gets the idea that Belle is "too proud to accept charity, don't bother giving her any supplies"

So the winter closes in, Belle finds herself colder and hungrier, and her firewood is getting low. Finally, she bundles up as warmly as she can, and braves her way into the forest to gather what wood she can.

And in the glamor of the sudden snow, she too becomes lost within the trees.

The cold closes in around her. Deep and biting. The trees seem to twist around her, and finally she trips and falls, losing her axe beneath the snow that's piling higher and higher. She has no idea where she is or where to go, as the darkness deepens

Then suddenly, a light. Just ahead of her in the trees, flickering like a flame. She manages to stumble towards it. Following the dance of the light as it seems to lead her onwards, almost beckoning. Every bit of her is numb, but at last she makes it to the door of a ruined looking old tower. And inside, lounging by a roaring fire, is someone, something, between a man and a beast. It bears the shape of a man, but it's skin is mottled green, like the stuffed crocodile she'd once seen hanging in a church as a girl. It's eyes are black as coal, save for the irises, which shine-- like it's hair--like burning gold.

"Hello there Dearie", the being says, with a smile that glitters like a row of needles in the firelight. "Won't you come in? What is it that brings such a pretty young thing out into these dark and dangerous woods?"

Too numb with cold to feel fear, too desperate for warmth to think with caution, Belle accepts the offer, and lulled by the warmth of the fire and the being's careful coaxing, she begins to tell her tale. Her missing father, her growing desperation as Gaston drove away those who might have helped her, the dwindling food and firewood. And through it all the being listens, sympathizes, and finally, offers it's aid:

"For a price of course"

Belle is not put off by this caveat. She has read enough to know of Les Fées and the bargains they often make. She knows of the tricks and traps they lay. She also knows that at this point, she has little left to lose.

And so she agrees to make a bargain with this strange Imp

“You don’t know it, but there’s a power in you dearie. Flowing in your veins, deep down, like an underground spring. I can teach you to draw it up, so that you’ll never know weakness nor want again. You’ll be able to do all the things you ever dreamed of dearie, fulfill every wish—even finding your father”

The promise of this wished for dream above all lights a fire inside of Belle hotter than the one she sits by, but she asks warily: “And, what is it you get out of this?”

“Let’s just say that I’ll have the opportunity to pay something forward”

So Belle begins her lessons, she has always been a swift student. Drawing out the latent fairy magic that lies sleeping within her, waiting to be called forth. In another life she might have discovered it with the help of a more benign teacher. But that is not this life. And she learns to call forth her power through the lens of her fear, frustration, and anger over the willingness of that small and small minded town to so easily cast her and her father aside.

Time passes differently within the environs of the old stone tower. When Belle finally leaves, for her months have gone by, and yet as she reaches the edge of the forest, clad in a gown of midnight blue, her eyes dark as the winter sky above her, she perceives that less than a day has passed since she entered the woods, seeking wood to keep back the cold.

She has no need of warmth anymore.

She reaches out with the power she has learned to yield, seeking the bonds of blood and love that link her to her father. She sees them, feels them, faintly running through the forest. She follows them through the trees, unafraid of the wolves that once would have stalked her, and now slink away in fear at her approach.

She follows them to the gates of a vast and terrible castle, echoing with dying magic, a curse reaching completion she thinks, with the new arcane knowledge she holds. But she does not think on that, but on following the call. Through the door, along empty passages,up the winding stairs, to a jail cell atop a tower. Where lies the frozen body of her father, long gone.

Belle’s grief consumes her, feeding the cold flames of her power. She stalks through the halls, seeking the one who locked her father away, who left him to his fate.

She finds him at last, a snarling beast, crouched around a bell jar that holds a rose, with but one petal left upon it. Magic swirls about it, the center of the web that binds this place. Once Belle might have been curious, wished to learn the secrets of this place, and it’s strange enchanted inhabitants.

Now, she wishes only for revenge

The beast is strong and fierce, savage, the last vestiges of human thought quickly fading away as the curse nears completion, for he has never learned to love, nor earn love in return. But for all his brute strength, he is still only a mortal, and once more finds himself overpowered by a sorceress’s magic

When Belle leaves the castle, crumbling into smoking ruins behind her, she holds in her hands a staff, grown from the dying stem of a rose; once the blushing pink of hopeful love, hope that withered as its petals fell, now burst forth into bloom, the deep dark blue of a winters sky, of a heart gone dark and cold.

She walks steadfastly, resolutely towards the small town she had once called home. There are more scores to settle. Somewhere on the wind, she thinks she hears the echo of the Imp’s laughter…

This is one of the nicer comments I’ve gotten relating to my stance on not liking fanart. I have had people call me childish, selfish, and even toxic for simply being uncomfortable with strangers drawing things I made/designed. 

I’m not the only one whos like this, a lot of people have come out in my comments and said they’re the same way. Some people are just so bent up that I don’t like fanart of my personal works its ridiculous-

What sucks even more is that I am actively trying to get better about this. I’ve gotten to the point where close friends can now draw fanart with permission and even follow my blog. Yet I still get people calling me horrible things for not liking fanart of my personal works. My frustration is immeasurable.

My advice would be to generate a prompt with this random prompt generator and draw some OCs/characters with it. If you don’t really have the drive to draw any complicated characters just draw some stick figures. That usually helps me get the creative juices flowing again :0

Foxy did not attack Bonnie. :0 Foxy was decommissioned, and then sometime later Bonnie was destroyed and decommissioned as well. What ever or who ever damaged Bonnie was not Foxy..

And Foxy didn’t damage the staff bot. The fear in that scene was that what ever damaged the staff bot was somewhere out there in the basement.. and Foxy was out there with it. Foxy is in danger... but then he comes back right at that moment so it was fine XD

Well, Professor Natquik was stranded in the Antarctic for years. I figured any food that he ate had to have been caught/grown by him and cooked/prepared by him. He probably didn’t have access to any spices or seasoning or really anything. He was just eating what he could to survive. That doesn’t exactly sound like a lovely home cooked meal does it..

And I figured Calico Jack was the same. For a long while he was kind’a stranded in the Amazon river. The food he ate was anything he could get his hands on really. And I bet anything he cooked didn’t taste quite as nice as a good ol home cooked meal.

Which is why they both got so emotional with Marsh’s soup. Its been a long time since either of them has been in a cozy and safe environment and was served a warm meal..

Oh that’s simple, the Super Crown isn’t in my AU at all! :D It simply does not exist. There isn’t a way I can fit it into my AU that would make sense.

The closest thing I could get to it is a crown that would turn Mario and Luigi into the same species as Peach. But they wouldn’t turn into women like Toadette does. They would stay male and just change species. But even then! Something like that doesn’t exist in my AU.

I imagined the land itself to be very infertile. Its swampy and gross in some areas and dry and deserty in others. Just, ick.

The residents are Koopa Troopas. And I imagined them all to be relatively normal people. The Koopa Troops are not all just monsters for no reason. They’re just people trying to survive like everyone else is. I can imagine parts of Bowsers kingdom that are poor.. you would see Koopa kids playing in the mud and swimming in the swamp.

Out of all the Turtles, Raph being with a human feels weird, the other Turtles I’m fine with being with humans. Raph has always been known to date non human characters so this ship doesn’t look/sit right to me, and doesn’t feel like a relationship that would go anywhere.

Like, what was he like before the demon attack? We only ever see him through someone else’s eyes. Tanjiro at first and he’s brash and harsh, then Giyuu & he’s portrayed similarly but caring as well. Is this just his default? Is it a result of losing his loved ones? Did he even have loved ones?

(I let my thoughts flow free & wrote a lot again 🫠)

Who did he live with? Does he have a goofy story behind his hair color like Rengoku & Mitsuri?

I mean he had to have gotten it from somewhere, maybe an ancestor ate a million peaches and suddenly their kids had peachy hair.

Also what was his family like? Nice? Cruel? Cold and distant? I mean Sabito seems to operate with tough love so was that learned or did he just pick it up after the Demon incident?

Personal 🐙 headcanon time; I like to think he had a nice family; parents, 2 older brothers, himself and a younger brother and sister.

I’ve seen hc’s where Sabito is an older sibling (either the oldest or the middle child) and he’s a sweet older brother. I’ve seen hc’s where Sabito suffers from some sort of amnesia. Which explains why we never learn about his family name or birthday or anything—because he can’t tell us.

Where did his toxic masculinity come from? Was it taught to him by an older family member? Did he craft that idea after being too “weak” to save his family from the demon?

(I like to think Giyuu eventually steers him away from those toxic thoughts. Starting with bribes like “a real man would take charge & wash the dishes,” to “real men let themselves feel” and “real men are able to cry.” Without giyuu as his buffer though Sabito reverts to his old toxic self. That’s what it’s so important for them both to live, they support each other & make the other better (or worse))

I’m not usually a huge fan of Jodie struggling with his sexuality (it’s just funnier to me if he dated Scam with no hesitation.) but I’m in love with it specifically for Henry/Jodie contexts. Nark <3 one of my original ships and one I’ve been thinking about a lot this weekend. The PEAK of adhd boyfriend/autism boyfriend in my mind. As I said the other day - I love them as established but ambiguous. No one knows what their relationship is, least of all them, but it has been going on for years. I find them really interesting but I don’t tend to agree with some of the like, I dunno, trademark features of popular Nark dynamics? I think Nicky is the type to do anything to get approval from those who cares about, way more so than I’ve seen some people give him credit for (more, maybe they give him too much credit? Wording LOL), and I think Lark feels intense guilt for the mere act of existing, and I think these two characteristics are SO fun to throw up against each other. Also I know Nicky is a cool alt demon boy when they’re teens, but he’s still a cop’s son and I LOOOVE that in contrast to Lark’s hot-to-those-in-his-age-group brooding and general delinquency vibes (ie (our only real example) swapping places with his twin so he can risk his life LMAO). GOD SORRY IM RAMBLING ABOUT NARK NOW I like them. A lot

In contrast to Nark, I think the general consensus on Lovesong is awesome. Sparrow and Nicky liked each other so much as teenagers, they were an adorable T4T couple, they’re adhd boyfriend/autism girlfriend, and now they’re the worlds messiest exes ever and it’s everyone’s problem <3 ohhh sword to throat scene, you will ALWAYS be famous. I also love them with a dynamic of like… Sparrow being much more confident around Nicky, but struggling a lot in general social interactions. Something about her blossoming and opening up when around Nicky in particular, and maybe neither of them even notice at first… but then one day it clicks. They’re just SO comfortable around each other and I love thinking about like. The details of how that relationship dissolves, and how much worse it must have made the betrayal. Their current antagonism is made so so so interesting, especially when Sparrow is such a pushover to everyone BUT Nicky… OUGH. LOVE THEM!!!! (do you guys like how I automatically trans fem Sparrow in Lovesong settings specifically LMAO)

Oakworthy is another one I’ve talked about at length. They are two bugs I am raising in captivity together and they keep trying to each other, so I have to separate them, but I put them back together anyways. Because thIS IS HOW OAKWORTHY CAN STILL WIN-!! I love these two, fully immersed in the fantasy that they’re going to fix things and get together in the end. I think the fact that they both have such strong identity issues but in different ways - Hermie has no idea who he truly is and tries on a million masks to compensate, while Normal tries so desperately to be someone else but his true identity always shows in the end - makes for a REEEALLY interesting dynamic. They both try so hard to be who the other person wants, and fail to realize that what the other wants is for them to be themselves. Makes me crazy

AND FINALLY. NORMAL/TAYLOR. Tayloak <3 only something I’ve started thinking about, like… in the past few weeks XD but I think they’re REALLY FUN. Obviously there’s this massive aspect of Normals jealousy of (and over) Taylor, which can be fun to play with in a “do I want him or do I want to be him” way! I think those types of crushes are SO funny in fiction. And also. Once again. They fit the autism x adhd dynamic except this time, they’re both high energy. Tackling as a love language. To me.

naturally, she has dark brown/black hair & brown eyes. however, she’s rarely ever without a wig; usually bright & garishly colored. she favors pink, but the whole rainbow exists in her closet. she’s also almost always in colored contacts, wearing dramatic make-up, etc.

To an extent; I ship chemistry above all, so there's no guarantee that - as an example - my Bucky is gonna be solidly romantically attracted to any given portrayal of Steve, or that I the writer am gonna click with the writer of any given Steve out there. Chemistry does not just mean chemistry of the characters; if our styles clash or we don't really mesh well then shipping's probably not gonna happen.

Now into the actual blog lore! (There’s a lot here to explain; sorry xd)

The TLDR is that Kieran met Pecharunt shortly after the Ogerpon confrontation in Kitakami. He willingly joined Pecha, and let himself be chained. The chain had unintended effects cause he willingly and eagerly took it. It’s pretty much part of him now and causes him to become more and more nonhuman (both physically and mentally) over time. At the time of this blog he’s somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd ref sheets in the masterpost.

-Pecharunt’s chains do give it a level of direct control over people and Pokémon, however, it prefers to only passively influence or leave them mostly alone. They will only take more direct action if needed to defend themself or their chained.

-Pecharunt is not malicious here! Like in canon, they just want to be liked by people, and take some less than moral approaches to reach this goal. At first, Pecharunt doesn’t fully realize what its mochi and chains do, and chain the Loyal Three against the Three’s wills. They do eventually realize the power they have though, and try not to use it unless necessary like we said above.

-And that leads into Kieran. When the two meet and Pecha offers the deal (Kieran gains power in the form of the chains, and in exchange Kieran lets Pecha tag along with him and they are “friends”). Kieran doesn’t care about the possible risks, and takes the chain, very much willingly.

-Kieran doesn’t resist the chains like the Three did, and as a result they affect him differently. Instead of simply attaching to him like they did the Three, the chains become part of him because of his desire to have them and the power they granted. They’re essentially burrowed under his skin and appear like tattoos along his spine almost. Except they can come out in the form of extra limbs (It’s more comfortable to have them out in some form; since it’s on his spine Kieran usually has the chain as a tail of sorts). Also fangs (cause I like fangs lol).

-At first the two of them are freaking out cause neither of them expected this to happen. It’s not exactly normal for a human to suddenly gain Pokemon-like features after all. Kieran figures out how to hide the chain itself (though it is very uncomfortable to do, since it retracts some and lies under his skin, very crushed/compressed) and the fangs are subtle enough to not be too much of a problem (unless someone looks closely). As more changes happen they become harder to hide though.

-The blog picks up after Kieran takes over the League as champion, and a little before the MC (who I’ll be using Florian for) shows up. Personality-wise they’re mostly the same, just more reclusive since they’re worried about people finding out about the chain and Pecharunt (who just hangs out in their dorm while he’s out, or hides in a backpack until they can be alone in the Terrarium). Pecharunt and Kieran do genuinely become friends at some point, despite the rocky start.

-Oh yeah, bc of the chains and Pecharunt, he can understand Pokémon to a certain extent. It’s not perfect and the only one he can fully understand is the peach itself (at least for now).

-Very outlandish idea but this is entirely self indulgent and we wanna have fun with it so yeah! We hope you all enjoy!

And thus, Lunara and Solstaire discover the ultimate joy in life: tickling Lunars. They both know what tickling is, but neither one has actually done any tickling before. Or been tickled. Peanut is their very first victim. Clipsy’s gonna have to stop them before they (mostly Lunara) accidentally tickle Peanut unconscious.

Piper is getting snuggled until Pyroclasm gets bored. They’re feeling talkative enough to mention that they usually drop kids off at the Daycare, because human kids are too delicate and breakable. But other DCAs are free game! Especially the dirty ones, (in this case referring to whatever’s probably leaking out of Clipsy’s broken ray) those ones are clearly homeless and up for grabs!

Sun awkwardly offers to help with the broken ray again. Clipsy gets told that he and Peanut can stay as long as they want. They can take the room they were making for Eclipse and Solar Flare, who have been bunking with Moon and KC. (Earth and Bloodmoon were sleeping in the theater, and Lunar’s been bunking with Sun and his cats).

Kidclipse can’t wait to introduce Peanut to his best friend and their sorta-step-brother-but-also-not-really, Gregory!

Torp just registers Clipsy and Peanut to the system, points at where the main console is, and then goes back to his day.

Good. For Antumbra, anyone who can tolerate his shit is getting attached to very quickly (yay abandonment issues and trauma). He’ll start doing little nice things for them, like covering Clipsy in a blanket if he looks tired, or leaving Peanut’s favorite snacks lying around. He’ll even be downright soft if they seem to be having bad days.

Just regular Eclipse stuff : ). Not that they’d recognize her as an Eclipse since she’s the one who looks like Eclipse and Glam Freddy had a kid together. Brief house tour before bed, including the warnings: -Don’t go downstairs because Monty lives there. -Everything they say is potentially being recorded because Vanny likes to bug their house. -Be careful because Circus Baby keeps potions in the fridge, including a thicc anime girl transformation potion and a human potion, and one of the water guns is loaded with a potion of forgetting. -Don’t touch Ennard’s Doritos or Baby’s icecream.

I forgot Honey! Honey Bakely and KC would adopt Peanut and Clipsy immediately. The Bloodmoon twins will be a bit grumbly and bully them a bit, and Eclipse will get jealous of Clipsy and be in denial about it and be extra mean to him and Peanut.

Peanut is just turned into hysterical giggly paste by them. He’s going to be a limp noodle by the time it’s over with. Clipsy finds it hilarious

Clipsy brings up that while it was technically right about them being homeless, they had literally just arrived so they had like zero time to acquire a home. Piper says that trying to apply logic is pointless.

He’d accept suns offer to fix the ray, since it’s definitely something that should be fixed even if it’s not super painful. It’s still rather annoying and overly sensitive in it’s damaged state.

Peanut gives Gregory a little pat on the head. He finds it cute they’re friends with a human!

Ah yes the reverse psychology. If you can deal with the toxic shithead behavior then he will vibe with you. Like a tsundere XD

Clipsy doesn’t even want to know why they have a thicc anime girl potion. It’s honestly for the best he doesn’t, the answer would only scar him more.

Clipsy is not going to appreciate this other eclipse and will return his rudeness with his own snark and sarcasm, doing little things to annoy him. Like the petty shit he is.

It makes no sense, totally kills their complexity and realism as characters, anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me what an ideal/canon/realistic Remus would look like to you? Im planning on writing a Marauder's Era Fic and I want things to be as Canon as possible, as I am v green to HP in general. Other ideas/plot points, anything that could help with my fanfic would be super sick

I wouldn’t say the ship in itself ruins their complexity, they’re both dark characters and have a pretty toxic relationship (if written by the right people it might even enhance the darkness and realism of both their characters). But the shippers are what ruin it all; they all turned it into some cutesy puppyship. -_-

I was wondering if you could tell me what an ideal/canon/realistic Remus would look like to you?

Well, I pretty much see him exactly the way he is in canon; soft-spoken, patient, very compassionate and kind, is afraid of speaking up about his friends’ wrongdoings (as we see in SWM), can be very emotionally cowardly (as we see with him and Tonks), etc etc. For me, the ideal version of the characters I love is always the canon version, all their flaws, their imperfections, their personality, their darker side.

I despise how soft and angelic Wolfstar shippers make Remus, so I always cherish fanfics that explore his flaws.

Im planning on writing a Marauder's Era Fic and I want things to be as Canon as possible, as I am v green to HP in general. Other ideas/plot points, anything that could help with my fanfic would be super sick

I think I’m gonna need something more specific. When does the fanfic you’re writing take place? Is it going through all 7 years through Hogwarts, after they graduate, their earlier/later years at Hogwarts? (And at each year/point I can tell you Remus’s relationship with each Marauder.)

I think you should know I’m not very well-versed in Marauders fanfics through the Marauders’ eyes.😅 I’m a Snape fan and most Marauders-era fics I read are from his POV throughout his years at Hogwarts (the future DEs welcoming him, the Marauders’ bullying, his and Lily’s friendship, Dumbledore’s bias, etc) and usually aren’t very Marauders-friendly, so you can always ask other HP fans who’re more experienced with these kinda things. Like I said, I think I need something more specific so I can know what to help you with.

And when you publish your fic, could you please inform me? I’d really love to read Remus fanfics without any Wolfstar! (And will your fanfic be anti-snape? I mean, ofc I’m gonna read it anyway but please tell me if it is so I can at least know what to expect XD)

I 100% agree with that ace/aro anon. Just because two characters smile at each other one time doesn’t mean they’re into each other. That’s kind of a dumb policy for shipping in general if that’s the only policy. By that logic Max and Pascal should be a thing because they smiled at each other.

I was about to say, "I'm amazed no one ships them," but I bet there's people who do. XD

But using "smiled at each other one time" as a basis for criteria is a little bit of an exaggeration. I think mostly two characters smiling at each other one time make people sit up and watch them and see if there's anything else to base a ship off of. (Not that ships require anything of substance at all. Back in the day, we called those crack ships, and they were glorious.)

The critique is more about watching everything with a shipping lens. I can't count the number of times I've been asked who I ship Cassandra or Varian with, and the answer is: no one. I don't ship them with anyone, because I'm not a big shipper. If I had to pull names out of a hat, I might see the potential in Cass and Lady Caine or Varian and Vex or Catalina, but that's at a cursory glance with no depth to my opinion. I have no headcanons, I have no emotional attachment to it or intention of drawing it, if people asked me questions about those ships, I'd have to come up with answers on the fly because I've formed no opinions whatsoever.

One of the things I've always praised TTS for is Eugene and Lance's relationship. They've stripped away the toxic masculinity and given us two guys - one who's in a committed relationship with a woman and one who has a crush on a woman, regardless of their sexual orientation (I headcanon them both as bi, FYI) - and allowed them to be physically affectionate and use the actual phrase, "I love you," between them. And yes, there's people who ship them, but I find it incredibly significant that they allowed this affectionate male friendship to exist with no romantic undercurrent. It's beautiful, and I appreciate it so hard. More media needs to be less afraid of that. Men need to be less afraid to openly love their friends.

In this current era where LGBTQ+ media is getting much-deserved stronger and stronger rep, I can absolutely see why people will continue to look for and see queer romantic relationships in media where it's not explicitly canon. For decades, the community has been starving for representation, and who wouldn't project onto a character they identify with? But I for one get more enjoyment out of media without looking for romantic subplots (or overt plots) unless they're really compelling to me. And this goes for straight and queer.

It's not that I bring a pure hopeless misery, I also have comfortable moments in this ship, but they’re related to my horny asf personality xd. I rather like the fact that they are both quite toxic bitches with high libido*, and they are also both connected with showbiz, albeit on different sides (the one who creates and the one who covers the events). So their entire chats literally consist of erotic selfies from work, sexting, rumors** and sarcastic remarks towards those who annoy them (maybe not remarks, maybe just a little tiny kilometer messages, replete with gory details... maybe someone's life was playfully destroyed......).

But then I started putting together a playlist for them, and at the moment of adding Oomph! after Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Placebo, IAMX, London After Midnight and Type O Negative I realized that yes, everything is bad.

All conventionally comfortable scenes in this case come from Gideon’s attempt to avoid obsessive thoughts and anxiety, `cause that's the reason why this relationship, and initially rather partnership, took place at all. Here's the thing I didn't notice in reasoning about Gideon before (but, most likely, I'm just inattentive): I think he is quite sensitive in the perception of people, especially in the perception of voice and intonation; he can literally be exasperated by a person who said the right thing from a logical point of view, but said it wrong. Given his overall morale, this is not uncommon. And to find a person who does not annoy him in this aspect is a blessing. Also, I think it's much easier for him to fall asleep with some background noise, because it drowns out thoughts a bit. So a quiet, calm monologue about nothing is the inevitable final part of post-session care to make him sleep better.

* In Gideon's case, sex may simply be the habitual and the most convenient way of avoiding, but the result is the same.

** I'm deeply convinced that Gideon knows everything about everyone in the NYC showbiz crowd, primarily because he generally keeps a lot of unnecessary, extremely specific information deep in the back of his head. For example, I still sincerely cannot understand why his weapon should be a katana. To my taste, the cane that he had in the movie, if it had a hidden blade, would look much more organic and elegant (despite the fact that the knob, unfortunately, would have come to change). So the only reason I see is that one day Gideon was just trying to distract himself, stumbled upon information about samurai and got a fixation. And here we are, in that very hapless warehouse there is already a whole collection of katanas; perhaps there is also some katana made in fifteenth century, which he redeemed from some museum, simply because he constantly makes impulsive purchases, I mentioned.

Meanwhile, people from showbiz are constantly flashing before his eyes, and I think he scrupulously collects information about all their fuck-ups (especially about his competitors and their protégé), because he often goes into overdrive, thinking that he said or did something wrong like ten years ago, and at such moments the thought of someone screwed up calms him down a little.

I actually find the concept of this very interesting. you seem to think that he and this person wouldn't last? or if they did, it would cause more bad than good? but you said last time that ramona and gideon are the only ones for each other, which I agree with, and in my head where everything is good, that's how both of their stories end up eventually.

I am, however, intrigued by the notion of gideon getting into this very very toxic dynamic if and before he would end up back with ramona.

I actually think having him go through something like that... especially after the chaos theatre battle, after his respawn, and then have this new relationship turn out to be much worse than all of that, would probably force him to confront some things about himself. I would like to see him torn apart and miserable and have him realize just how much he screwed up with ramona (and possibly his other exes, though I have very different thoughts baout those) and how empty his life really is

in the perfect ending I have in my head, this would be influential when he and ramona crossed paths again. or he would die alone! either way
