the thing about beautiful riverdale is that there are a couple of people in my life who seem to have learned the trick to see me turn into the happiest person on earth with the biggest smile under any circumstances which is asking me about riverdale

#the other day having dinner one last time with my friend before she moved to germany #which i could comfortably fit into my schedule because i was on a depression leave from work that lasted almost 2 full months #talking about life: (us both) well it's been going bad hasnt it. what with no money and crazy families and tragedy striking a ho etc etc #her bf asks me about what books im reading: well im reading this book about this guy who lives such a meaningless life what with capitalism #that you think yeah the only way out is to kill yourself here but the guy has become such a non-person that he cant even #kill himself in any way that matters. also he hates women so it's a really upsetting book #me to the bf: so do you already know when it's a good time to visit her in germany #the bf: well actually there used to be cheap flights but not anymore so idk if we can visit because it's so expensive now :(#my friend (genius): so i heard riverdale ended what happened on riverdale season 7 #and for 10 minutes it was a great time thank you riverdale forever #personal

okay so i finally read a ballad of songbirds and snakes which led to me rereading the hunger games trilogy over the past week (SO GOOD i could make a whole other post) but then i thought it would be a good idea to watch the movies but then literally started sobbing from the beginning and started again every time single time they showed rue before the games even started or anything

#as a standalone book abosas is like ok but i actually thought it was fascinating like just how the games developed #like seeing how the media and sponsors started and then rereading the original books its SO interesting #im really tired but the relationship between the districts and capitol and tributes and audience and everything... suzanne is a genius #also i briefly went into the tags on here and my one thing is why are people not talking about tigris more??#she could have a whole other book #i wish i could talk to suzanne collins and ask her why she chose tigris of all people to become a stylist and then what happened #did she think she could help the tributes like her cousin and then they had a disagreement of some kind?#no one is doing it like her #and im just blown away like rereading the books bc yeah theyre incredibly violent and there's the stuff with that peacekeeper #and then finnick in the capitol which is real and painful but it's so different from popular ya currently #idk what middle schoolers are reading these days but im just thinking about how acotar is marketed as ya #i just appreciated how katniss loves people and you can tell by her/their actions words etc instead of everything being some crazy #physical attraction all the time #which makes sense with katniss's circumstances and everything and she even says like she doesn't want to get married etc #because of the world they live in and thg isn't a romance obviously while the popular newer books im thinking of are marketed as romance so #maybe im just mad bc i gave in and read fourth wing and it was so garbage #idk i have a lot of thoughts but i dont think these are making sense

#fnaf 3 and sl both have cool lore and some other cool bits but arent good to play #and sl marks imo the start of fnafs downfall #like fnaf 3 is only bad gameplay-wise sl is bad in. almost everything. actually i dont even like the lore that much i just like the #purple mike minigame the idea of a robot wearing an actively decomposing human body is sick #and the fan songs gave me a soft spot for it #but other than that i think you could remove all of sl's lore and animatronics and the franchise would be better. Kp is so good when they take themselves seriously i wish they did that more often

#torture scenes are a prime example #this show does visceral and cruel so well but only when it wants to!! i hate that theres so much comedy and slapstick in there #if they dialed down on the comedy for like 80% i knowwww they could achieve so much more in terms of plot and interaction with it #the occasional cinematic genius undermined by all the comedy makes me sew mad you do Not need that many tonal shifts😭😭#porsches bathroom breakdown. when kinn let him go in the woods. the torture scenes. bathroom hj. ep 1 bar talk. most of ep 7 #tankhuns comedy i enjoy and think is a great breather bc it fits his scenes!! i dont think they should get rid of all comedy but like #keep it where it fits only otherwise it just upsets the mood flow #gdjdgdjd ok im okay again whatever. i refuse to call this a bad show bc theres so much good stuff in there it just needs more balance #and it needs more correction on certain narratives like please acknowledge big and ken hello?? why are u not doing a check of all staff #when you KNOW theres been a mole this should affect your security measures #i think if they really committed to the 'gritty mafia show' it wouldve worked out a lot better! obviously still keep in tankhuns wit #and the breathers of the honeymoon phase and porsche and chay together and such #but swap the slapstick for more insight into how each character feels about everything thats happened or more reflection yknow #anyway this is not necessarily in regards to ep 10 its just a general observation because sometimes this show goes !!!!#and other times its like. well. that was a choice #do i want to tag this......i dont think so
