BLACK SAPPHIRE GALA pls for the wip game 🙏

Ohhhohoho where do I even start with this- ...

OK so- the black sapphire gala actually has two stories running within it. It's like - a mass lore drop featuring many of my and friends ocs !!!

The main ships in this fic are M0CK1NGJAY x Victoria Crane x Kurt Hansen [an ot3 without a ship name right now] and Jackie Welles x Viridian [aka OTP: to this]

STORY 1

The first story that it follows features Amrin [M0CK1NGJAY] and one of her partners , Victoria Crane [who belongs to @another-corpo-rat ]

Victoria asks Amrin how she got her burn scar , as the two are dressing and getting ready to meet their joint partner , kurt , at the black sapphire -

That simple question brings a lot of pain back to Amrin - she doesn't disclose this info to Victoria - not yet anyway. Amrin's other partner [kurt hansen] knows of how it happened... Victoria drops the subject, and the two make their way to the ballroom / casino. They share a kiss in the lobby - before Victoria wanders off to the bar , Amrin making a b-line to the balcony. The night is still young, and the party hasn't started yet.

Amrin looking out to night city, she thinks back to old times - to rasmus , happier days... and then the trauma team incident that made it all not good not fun for the couple. She stays outside- she cries alone. Until she feels a cybernetic hand on the small of her back. Kurt has joined her. The two remain together for a little while - kurt can tell Amrin is not OK, all cried out and burnt out. He says it's ok for her to leave , but Amrin says she's OK to stay.

Kurt offers Amrin his arm as the two go back into the lobby- they go to the bar and Amrin orders a bloody Mary cocktail. She reaches into her clutch purse and grabs her wireless earbuds - slotting one into her ear- she grabs her drink and Kurt kisses her on the cheek , suggesting to her where its quiet. Amrin thanking him - as she ventures off to find a quiet place to recharge.

TRANSITION INTO STORY 2

As Amrin finds herself a quiet spot, she passes a small teal haired woman and larger man with a topknot. Viridian Miller and Jackie Welles - accompanied by the FIA agent Solomon Reed. Infiltrating the gala and waiting for Songbird's signal. This second story runs near parallel to the CDPR canon. Viridian and Jackie join Song on the balcony - they talk - ect ect - until Kurt joins Songbird on the balcony- accompanied by Victoria Crane -

the interaction that follows is one of Viridian almost blowing her and Jackie's cover- But pulling herself back into the game... until one of Victoria’s hands brushes over Viridian's cheek -

For those of you who don't know- Victoria crane and Viridian have a very.... complicated connection [ see netwatch's accounts of Arasaka’s red rabbit

Victoria crane essentially spent all of Viridian’s NC saka Carrer making her life a living hell lololol-

For now this mammoth fic ends on a cliff hanger.

v stood on the balcony in the hideout overlooking dogtown, she had just pulled out her tobacco and was getting ready to roll a cigarette for her and johnny when he decided to show up again.

they hadn't spoken since they met up with the president, since the to of them argued over his decision to allow songbird to supress him, even though v told them she could take it and demanded that he be left alone. v contemplated whether or not they should pick up the topic again and finished rolling their cigarette before putting it in her mouth to light it.

"ugh, finally." johnny said, facing the city below them as he leaned against the railing. she took the first drag and the calming sensation of nicotine entering their bloodstream washed over them.

v also leaned against the railing, her back towards the view. she knew she couldn't drop the topic, it kept lingering on her mind but there was a thought accompanying it, hovering over their heads like a guillotine. she truly did not want him to leave, not for long periods of time, not for good, not ever.

"gonk." johnny mumbled, unmoving safe for taking a drag from the cigarette, a movement in perfect unison with v. "so, self sacrifice is okay when you do it?" she retorted, she was annoyed but calm, the day had taken it's toll on her though that didn't mean she was gonna sleep tonight. "got nothing to lose. you could die." he glanced at her over his aviators now. v let out an annoyed grumble, he was right but so was she. he shouldn't have to suffer, especially not for some chick neither one of them knew or trusted. v stuck the cigarette between her lips, sucking on it every now and then while rolling another one. it ran out eventually and the filter started to burn so she spat it out onto the floor, stomping on it to put it out.

"she got a cure." johnny said after a few minutes of silence, v was now smoking the second cigarette and he turned to face her as he took off his sunglasses. she blew the smoke into the night air. "don't want it, if it means gettin' rid of you." she turned her head to meet his gaze. "i wouldn't wanna --"

"you truly do have brain damage." he interrupted her though it was no use, he knew what she was going to say and the feeling was mutual. "-- 'm killin' you, remember?" the two of them did not break eye contact, one more stubborn than the other. "nope, not you; the relic is." v argued as she took the last drag of the cigarette, stubbing it out on the railing next to her. "same thing." johnny threw his hands in the air in defeat. "no, saka made the relic - you saved my life."

U - 5 favorite characters from 5 different fandoms

Persona 5: Goro Akechi. My poor little meow meow. His duality fascinates me: who he presents himself to be vs. who he really is, who he wanted to be as a child vs. who he has become now. His slow realization that he’s merely the puppet of more powerful forces in the game (Shido, Yaldabaoth (though he doesn’t quite know this), and Maruki) is heartbreaking, as are the choices that he makes to break free from that control.  

Yuri on Ice: Yuuri Katsuki. He is so important to me. He’s so wrapped up in his head, striving for acknowledgement, for success, for Victor, that he doesn’t see his own talent or how bright of a light that he is. His blossoming over the course of the show is lovely. I desperately wish for a season two of the show (or the long delayed movie) because I want to see more of Yuuri’s journey to discover life and love.

Bungou Stray Dogs: Nakahara Chuuya. I am in aesthetic lust with his design. There’s just something about it that calls to me. The red hair, the jaunty hat, the even jauntier grin, the choker and the coat. He’s a pintsized powerhouse and so achingly human (despite his less than human origins). His dynamic with Dazai is fascinating, and I wish we got to see more of him in the anime & manga.

Final Fantasy XV: Prompto Argentum. See above re: Nakahara Chuuya being so achingly human despite his origins. See above re: Yuuri Katsuki and his anxiety and lack of belief in himself. See above re: Goro Akechi and the power of Robbie Daymond as a voice actor. He’s an anxious ball of sunshine just trying to keep up with royalty, and I love how he helps Noctis to feel human, despite the literal weight of the world on his shoulders.

Game of Thrones: Sansa Stark. Sansa for queen. I found her story the most compelling in the show (it’s been too long since I’ve read the books for me to comment on them). She has such a hard, relentless reality check. The little songbird is nearly crushed by the cruelty of the world, but she finds a way to survive in the figurative lion’s den, without any physical or mystical prowess. She should have been Queen of all Westeros at the end, not just Queen of the North.

V - 3 OTPs from 3 different fandoms

Persona 5: Goro Akechi x Akira Kurusu (Ren Amamiya). Because, to paraphrase Hegel, advancement cannot occur without both thesis and antithesis. Because they are two sides of the same coin. P- AU: Canary Tim - I’ll elaborate on this bc it is one of my aus and is kind of the reason that some of my second gen bat ocs exist so it’s kind of relevant.

First Black Canary - Dinah Drake. Married Larry Lance, daughter was Dinah Lance, who became the next Black Canary. Do you see where I’m going with this. Tim Drake. Dinah Drake. There’s a very weak connection there technically so I just made Dinah his aunt. Based off of Dinah Drake and Dinah Lance, we can assume the canary meta gene is hereditary, ergo we’ll just send it Tim’s way as well.

He won’t have his activated until his late teens though bc I want him to have atrocious voice control for a good while so he gets shipped off to train with Black Canary until he won’t accidentally deafen everyone around him.

From there, he’ll graduate Robin to become some kind of Songbird. It was originally going to be Galah (bc pink) but I changed it to Blackbird so his kids could call him B and it would be very emotional for Bruce to watch history repeat itself with the nickname and whatnot. Also this way tim gets to keep his red black and gold colour scheme.

that’s the au part but the part where my oc Jasper couldn’t really exist outside of this au is bc he’s a meta with a voice ability, that’s similar to the Canary meta gene but he’s not related to any of them. He’s Australian so he travels to America to look for Black Canary. He can’t find her, he keeps on missing her by like a handful of minutes or hours, but he does find Tim, and at this point he’s fed up of looking for Dinah and settles for the 19-year-old Blackbird in front of him. Tim, who only really got control of his powers around two weeks ago, chooses not to mention his inexperience and accepts that he’s a dad now

Q- hate to say it but I don’t really ship stephCass. I used to, but I hc Cass as older by a bit too much for me to comfortable shipping them in my own au yknow? R- hmmmm. Well I’ll start off with one that I think very few people ship. Steph and Bailey, who has one appearance in the Robin/Spoiler Annual. And I know I’m not the only one bc I’m pretty sure it was @aliteralchicken’s blog where I saw them for the first time, if not whoops

I also have a lot of Janet Drake ships bc I love her and given that most people do not love her I think it’s safe to say that Janet x Selina, Janet x Talia and Janet x Dana aren’t exactly popular ships

16. Can they stay up all night just talking?

Oh definitely. Obviously I see them in a very physical and tactile relationship (tee hee hee), but the first interaction we see between them in canon is a meaningful conversation. I could see them both being too exhausted from a long workday to do anything, but too tired to sleep, and just murmuring nonsense to each other and making each other giggle all night long.

18. How likely are they to have fur babies? How many and what kind?

I see them as dog people, mostly. I could see them both going to the humane society to get a dog and coming home with three, particularly the old dog with temperament issues that no one else wants.

19. How do they feel about PDA?

Despite my love of it fanfics, I see Eddie as totally fine with PDA (the guy walks across lunch tables and bellows out speeches, he doesn't give a shit), but I see Chrissy being much more shy about it. She was clearly uncomfortable when Jason declared his love for her at the pep rally. I think aside from holding hands and maybe a smooch or two, she wouldn't much like it.

22. What reminds each of their partner?

Metal music, fantasy books, guitars, weed--all of this would obviously remind Chrissy of Eddie.

I think for Eddie--cheerleading, apple cinnamon shampoo, daffodils.

30. Your OTP gets to pick out each other's outfits; what is each wearing?

I think Chrissy would jump at the opportunity to make him wear a suit or a tux, even just for a night.

I see Eddie as being uncomfortable with picking out Chrissy's outfits because it's too close a controlling trait that her mom would utilize. But if she insisted, he'd probably suggest something leather. Maybe a corset. Thigh highs. But only if she wants to!

39. Who would rescue an injured animal and nurse it back to health? What would the other think?

I see this as a Chrissy thing with Eddie gently teasing her about it. It's cute when it's a songbird or stray cat, it gets less cute when she brings home raccoons that destroy their den or a badger that bites the shit out of Eddie and forces him to get tested for rabies.

Currently, write for the Harry Potter fandom but I've recently branched into the Grishaverse fandom. Prior to this, I dipped my toe into the Marvel fandom, and then way back in the 2010 FFN cesspit days, I wrote for (I am showing my vulnerability here, be kind) the Mortal Instrument fandom and Twilight.

... I know, but we stan personal growth.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I am so bad at this. I used to reply to every one, but with my job, time isn't a luxury that I have. Sometimes when I have a spare five minutes, I'll try and catch up, but that's rare. I'm thinking that on the final chapters of WIPs I'll do a tour through the comment sections. But yeah, in short, no I don't reply to everyone, I'm useless, but I read and value everyone like gold dust.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

A couple of days ago, I would have said one of the Twilight ones, but they're all gone now. I love leaning into angst, but I don't think I have any angsty endings yet - mainly because the WIPs aren't finished. Of the oneshots, maybe Songbird - it's not exactly a HEA, but a bittersweet broken happiness. The Devil's Strawberry again was an imperfect HEA.

Do you write crossovers? If so what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

None and I don't really have any plans for one atm.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Aye, The Fuckening and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. In the Fuckening there were a couple people who just straight up were like, this is the worst thing I've ever read - which, I mean, I respect the bluntness of it. But one of the other reasons I stopped replying to comments was the insidious gatekeepers, of which, are regulars in that comment section. With TNBC, there were one or two Dramione antis, but mainly a lot of homophobic hate and it was entirely on FFN.

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I have no idea how to answer this tbh. Yes, I have a couple spicey one-shots and multi-chaps. Moribund and Bohemian Nights were specifically written for this purpose. Everything else is more plot-driven with spice in, and the smut will depend on the context of the story.

With Songbird, it was more about the emotional connection rather than the sex. The small dappling of it in Devil's Strawberry was definitely more abstract and about the magic.

But the other two, they're just straight-up, gratuitous porn.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so

Yep, Songbird is currently being translated into Portuguese by a wonderful Kiddo0008.

What’s your all time favorite ship?

Dramione yes, definitely the OTP. Nottpott is a very close second thanks to @olivieblake. Further to that, Darcy x Steve Rogers holds a comforting old-timey charm that I love. Darklina is so seductive, I can't even. Sterek and Merthur are definitely darlings. But tbh, I'm open to giving most pairings a try. Love is love.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

The East Wind Blows. I still have the plot in my head, I know where it'll go and I think it could be really fun. I'll have to go back over what's already been done because I started it a couple of years ago and my writing style has changed.

What are your writing strengths?

Worldbuilding - I get lost in the lore quite a lot, hence the word counts. And scene-setting, which ties into worldbuilding. I love going to the reasons why certain places are named the way they are etc. Everything is done with intention.

Tension and suspense - Every time I have a tense scene to write, my English teacher pops into my head. I was very fortunate to have her, she instilled some fantastic lessons, the main one being namely: stick to the rules until the rules no longer work for you. In tension and suspense, the rules hinder. So break them. Art is art, write with emotion, not equations.

The Quadruple P (and pestle) - Purple prose. I like words and I like using prose to paint the scene I'm setting and the world I'm building. I am unashamedly the purple cape crusader.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Scene changes and transition scene - I have to stop myself from writing every minute arbitrary detail like 'he walked up the curb and the looked for the shop etcetcetc'. Skimming over those transition scenes feels weird and like I'm cutting something short, even though it's the best thing to do for the narrative.

Dialogue - ugh, how do people speak.

Being concise - it's a problem. I want to be able to write a 1.5k story.

Plotting - I tried plotting, I can't. I get bored of the story and don't write it. I'm just embracing that I'm a Discovery writer at this point.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

Depends. I think dialogue in other languages can add another layer to the story, acknowledging that yes, there are lots of languages out there etc. Particularly if the scene is set in a different country where the native language isn't English, in my case. Granted, I don't think major plot points should be discussed because they might be missed by some readers, but I think it's definitely good to acknowledge the language of the country setting or of the character. I'd even go as far as to do phonetic spelling with accents if the character is a non-English speaker and it lends to their character and isn't a characterisation of the language. Depends on how immersive you want the story to be.

What’s your favourite fic that you’ve written?

Fuckening mainly because I'm having so much fun with the lore and mythos. It's been such a challenge, but worth it. Bohemian Nights is just pure wanderlust, smutty indulgence and my happy place. Whiskey Whispers was the funniest thing I've written and such a good time. But I think Call to the Void may get into the top 3 if I can pull it off.

Hmm, two main OTPs for me are SanSan and DabiHawks, so...

Sansa would have a big hound somewhere discreet - either her sides or above her elbow, somewhere she could keep it covered but she would know it was there, and could take comfort in it.

Sandor would have either a dancing direwolf or a little songbird flying it's cage - maybe even both? - on his forearms, so that they're there and he knows Sansa was with him.

Dabi would probably have a very joking KFC bucket on his ankle or something, but that's to distract attention from the red feather he'd have tucked behind an ear.

Hawks would have a very discreet blue flame tucked away somewhere - maybe the inside of his wrist, hidden by his gloves? - so that HE knows it's there, but so he doesn't have to explain anything to anyone.

All of them would be pretty private about it - their love lives, their tattoos - so that's why I think they'd have relatively discreet placements to their tatts

haha i never know how to answer “favourite memory” questions cause i don’t think i can ever pick favourites when it comes to anything i’ve experienced.

mmm... meeting him was definitely up there, but i feel like my fave memories with him are just finding some nowhere island and taking a nap in the sun.

i can’t really get into self-shipping longterm or in depth because the kin aspect really does just overtake it for me fghdghf. if i try to picture myself, i always just picture my kintype, usually because my kintype/my f/o is usually my OTP in any given series. i only fall for people i already loved ^^;

not really, unless they’re skeevy ships to begin with. part of being kin for me is believing in the multiverse so i’m just like yeah, a universe exists for me to date everyone xD

tons :’3 i lived in her restaurant! she was my super cool boss who i absolutely did not have a crush on.

oh this might be long i love talking about skyloft rip. am saving your first question for last.

how were the classes. well. i was asleep. i don’t remember a lot. they were basic stuff you’d expect, language and math and sciences and all the Typical Shit. but then also flying and swordsmanship, which i was Good At. i took an archery class one year but zelda was always better than me lol. skyloftian sign language was required because it was the best way to communicate on birdback but i was mostly mute so my mom taught me it when i was like, 7 and i showed up there and owlan was like “Link what are you doing here” and i just shrugged and signed “easy a” and fell asleep. i am... a good student. 

my relationship with my classmates was that i was just... kind of there? i was well-liked because i have always had this weird charisma, but it was like this. quiet charisma. i didn’t have a lot of close friends, but everyone definitely would respond to my name with some variation of ‘ohhh, LINK! that guy’s cool haha’ my reputation was mostly being zelda’s arm decoration but not her actual boyfriend. i don’t think anyone could actually tell you anything about me besides that i was link with the red bird, and i was quiet and tired and zelda liked me way too much. 

my junior year is when i really became close with all of them, when zelda and i started doing that thing where we tried dating a bunch of people just to date but it didn’t work out because we were in love with each other lol. her mingling with the others meant i mingled too because i couldn’t spend 5 mins away from her. fledge and pipit and i got pretty close, zelda and karane were basically sisters. the thing i always joke abt is the fact that i dated kina, which is hysterical to me to this day. peatrice was always There but acting like she didn’t want to be there. i need you to picture peatrice while we’re all swimming but she’s just, like, on the shore tanning while the remlits bother her. 

that was this summer of just, like, doing idiot teenage boy stuff. getting way too drunk in our rooms at night over break. sneaking onto the roof of the academy to stargaze. getting caught cause cawlin drunkenly tried to fight a chuchu w his fists. you know. normal kid stuff. i also think the others were maybe trying to include me more cause it was the year i lost my parents but i mean it worked, i was a lot happier with people around even if i didnt mind all those years it was just me and zelda.

most of mine and zelda’s friendship was just doing what we’d do alone but together. when we were younger we would explore the more adventurous areas of skyloft and play pretend, a lot of days we’d stay in and read shoulder-to-shoulder. i didn’t like talking but i loved reading, if that makes any sense. we’d take turns reading to each other. as the years progressed we’d go flying together, we’d study together, we’d fall asleep in each other’s rooms and sneak into them when we were frustrated or lonely or just needed to not be alone. i don’t really know, what DIDN’T we do together?? we shared everything ;_; <3

my earliest memories of groose where i wasn’t like “what is this guys deal. why is he so mad.” were. ok so. groose and i should have been friends sooner because he’s super into woodworking and i whittle stupid little sculptures right. ok. except, we live in the sky, and i don’t know if you noticed this, but trees....... well. there are not a lot in the sky. wood is a very scarce resource, and we need it, for like. houses and things. so jakamar gets all of the wood in skyloft because it’s his birthright or whatever, except groose and i find out about this, and we show up at his house twice a week begging for woodscraps, and he slips us some Illegal Fir(tm) beneath the table and as soon as we leave the premises groose tries to kick my ass and take my share. and this happens forever.

i think groose saw me as like, this sworn enemy of his but i was mostly very confused just kind of sitting there like huh. where am i. wait whats he talking about? and then i’d walk away. when i was a kid he was scarier but once we got older he kinda stopped throwing punches, all bark no bite. 

and then we went to the surface and he moved into my house. not even in a polyam way and like at one point he had a wife and was still living with us. i forgot to mention he built the house also. he built our house and would just like, wake us up every morning with the best fucking eggs i’ve ever eaten in my life. groose was just in mine and zelda’s marriage. everyone was fine with this. 

i dont actually remember a lot of what we did after getting to the surface. just that his cooking was amazing and he gave the best hugs and he could pick zelda and i both up and ferry us around on his arms like we were little songbirds. oh and he was always the one who picked me up and carried me to bed when i’d fall asleep at fi’s dais talking to her. i fell asleep there a lot.

my wing ceremony is probably my fondest memory ever? probably. the race itself felt like aepon was literally just DRAGGING me thru the clouds its such a blur. groose kept trying to body me but he’s lowkey scared shitless of my bird it did not work. i just remember being like. no time to think time to go time to go time to go OH i won

the ceremony itself felt... like... dreamy? like something from a fairytale, i don’t know. i don’t know how much of it is coloured by the retrospective of what it called to action and foreshadowed. zelda and i had been growing so much closer in the weeks leading up to it, and i don’t know, like, when i fell for her if it was sometime then or the day i met her when i was 6. but at some point everything just kinda got tilted on its side around her and every second i spent with her made me feel like my head was stuffed full of cotton candy. in a fun way.

on skyloft, wing ceremonies have a pretty romantic connotation. not always, but a lot of the girls dream about performing it with the “strongest” knight in their class, and a lot of the knights feel the same. there’s a lot in the history books about hylia’s feelings for her chosen, a lot of speculation about how she stayed close to humanity because she learned to love from him. so to stand in place of the two of them, to a lot of people, carries the same note as standing in the place of two starcrossed lovers, breaching the gap.

zelda was a hopeless romantic, and she told me later she had this whole plan--to wake me up early, to run drills with me until i was a puddle, to perform the ceremony with me, and to use her 5 minutes alone with me to solidify us as something more than best friends. she had this whole fucking move planned where she was going to drape the sailcloth around my shoulders and pull me in for a kiss, and instead she got wicked nervous and screamed half her sentences and pushed me off the statue. this, predictably, only made me more in love with her. i had exactly 0 plans to ever tell her how i felt, because something something childhood friends to lovers, something something mutual pining, something something what if it ruins a good thing something something, valiant hero of courage who.

when we were flying after it, she said she’d remember that day for the rest of her life, and i remember thinking, yeah, that’s what i’m feeling. i’m living, right now, through a precious memory, something i’ll never forget. and everything that happened after that was, uh, the worst time of my life, but somehow it doesn’t. colour the memory a different shade. i still just think, like, this is this last beautiful moment i am having with this girl i love more than anything in the world before we stop just being kids living our normal lives. she is the goddess reborn and i am her chosen hero who’s heart has defied death itself, but right now we are teenagers who don’t know that and are playing pretend as them, as we always have. the joy of that--of pretending to be who we are, the bliss in that ignorance, our beautiful last hurrah. something about it sticks with me.

To start off, there are two running themes people will notice in my ships: that I ship Miranda with a LOT of people, and tend to avoid shipping the PCs with anyone. It’s not that I totally dislike the PCs, but rather... I guess in them not really having any personalities to find within the game itself, I just find them much less compelling than every other character. I also just trend away from enjoying the PCs for that reason. I suppose they’re nice, but there’s nothing really to work with for them.

That said, my first ship and, honestly, main OTP for Monster Prom is: the poly ship. All of the PCs with all of the ROs in a big poly puddle. I’m a major poly shipper regardless, so this one was kind of a given, and particularly on the ROs’ ends, they work together so wonderfully and beautifully that it’s easy to imagine that they’re all already dating one another, and the PCs are just wanting to join the cuddle pile!

My second OTP, and the one I indulge most often though... Is Miranda x Liam. I’m predictable and I’ve loved their ship ever since I was first introduced to Monster Prom! There’s just something about how Liam tries to act all high and mighty yet genuinely cares, and Miranda’s dogged determination in including him in things and genuinely caring for him too. They’re just so sweet together, and they have one of my favorite things in any ship where they can learn from and grow from each other! It’s a specific kind of thing where two people can have their disagreements and even their fights, but be able to come back together and fix the wrongs and for them to both make the other into a better person. Liam’s seen a lot of stuff in the world, and has seen the downfalls of many empires and kingdoms, and can assist Miranda in a way that she sincerely needs, while Miranda has the optimism and simple joy to see the bright side and beauty in things. Hell, when I first saw the Prom King route, I was sure that Miranda was planning to ask Liam to Prom at the end, but... PC got asked along to be Prom Royalty instead.

I also have ships that do get preferential treatment, though they aren’t my cream-of-the-crop OTPs, so here they are, a bit more rapidfire:

Miranda x Valerie. Honestly this ship is right behind the other two OTPs in how much I love it, and it’s entirely @necrodanger​‘s fault with their (former) Val blog. Val’s honestly the single other character who has gotten the closest to Miranda, excluding Bellanda, and I kept the word/term ul’kiha from those roleplays!

Miranda x Eden. He may be an OC but @sacred-songbird​ knows how much I love these nerds together and how beautifully they work.

Polly x Faith. Tam knows what they’ve done and good GOD I love these two ladies together. The Coven is SO underappreciated and though canon paints the two as just friends with benefits, they genuinely work so well together and I LOVE mutual pining with neither party wanting to make a move out of fear of ruining their relationship. Love them.

Miranda x Damien. Since I’m a sucker for childhood friendship turned romantic, and also just the two being able to bond over the stressors of royal life and have an escape from it. I’m still wholly convinced that these two are one of the devs’ secret canon ships, and though it’s yet to be proven true, I have my suspicions.

Miranda x Calculester. @mindsmelded​ has SOLD ME on this ship. Calc is so wonderfully optimistic and bright and Miranda... Miranda has so many expectations and burdens and honestly there’s all the reason in the world for Cal to realize that Miranda is everything they stand against, and yet she has an anchor in them and is being given a new way to look at the world in a way that REALLY helps her. Nothing quite summarizes them like this one ask, of Miranda wearing Calc’s shirt with ‘ fragile but alive ’ on it. Just. God I never imagining liking this ship as much as I do.
