Then, as they are both bored during the great annual Christmas party hosted by Sansa’s dad, she asks her cousin to make one of his trick so the night can be less boring. Taking her outside, he brings her to the well, and asks her one of the ribbons she wears in her hairs. He asks her then to close her eyes and make a wish, before dropping the ribbon into the well. I wish we could go into an adventure.

Mortarion, and how he could be shipped with everyone: Loyalist edition!

Sanguinius: while it might seem like a weird combo at first, there are ways to make it work awfully well! Sang is a kind soul, and favored by the Emperor. Mort was stuck over a decade on Terra. They could have become close then, with Sang wanting to "save" his brother. In a complete role reversal, maybe instead Sang approached him and his apothecary, to help cure his sons of their flaw? My favorite scenario, however, is much darker. I imagine Emp interest toward Sang becoming quite... Impure, and Mortarion discovering it. He know how awful fathers can be. So he try to protect and help him, as much as he can.

Ferrus: Ferrus is really not that complicated to pair up with Mort, as they both have friends in common. Konrad and Fulgrim are very close, so it make sense that, at some point, they might run into one another. And I think that Ferrus would HIGHLY respect Mort's wish to keep his planet a toxic hellscape. They seem opposite, but their philosophie are actually quite close! I think they could enjoy a few good spare together, and Ferrus would *never* be bothered by Mort's scars.

Leman: the wolf king does not get credit for how much he actually care and love about his siblings. He just... Adore them. It's quite easy to pair them together, really, you just have to have them meet when Mort is recovering on Terra. Leman might ping him as some kind of packmate who need help, and just... Aggressively become his friend. Mortarion does not get a say about this. And Mort, sweet Mort, he doesn't know how to cope with the kind of highly affectionate friendship that Leman provide, of course he would get a crush!

Corvus: That one is just so easy! Two broody nerds, who like science, hate slavers, hate big E and the Imperium at large, with those dark aesthetic? Oh, they were in *love*. I especially love the concept of transfem Corvus and intersex Morty together, as it give them a jumping point and they can then slowly discover each others. They would be so sweet together!

Jaghatai: Probably my third fav Mort ship, behind my OTP and Konrad. Jagh, in CANON, is fascinated by Mort. He find him so intriguing. Opposite attract, and he see the slow, powerful warrior and he is tickled pink. It's so fun, to think of someone being into Mortarion first, you know? Jaghatai, just wanting his affection and trying to impress him, and being fucking DELIGHTED when it turns out that Mort is a farmer.... He would gift him horses, don't @ me.

Rogal: This is the one pairing I can't seem to make work. I love Rogal, so very much, but his brand of neurodivergent just clash so horribly with Mort!! I think they could maybe learn to be friends, they could learn to respect one another, but they would need freaking manual, and in a shippy way... No. Especially if it comes down to sexuality. They are just too different.

Lion: Oh what a bad, BAD scenario that could be. I can actually imagine a few way this could happen, bit none of them would be happy, or even very consensual. Maybe Mort is "gisted" to Lion by emp. Maybe they have a joint compliance and Lion get weirdly obsessive for some reason. Maybe Mort discover the secrets of the Watchers and start a weird blackmail with him... In all case, it end up probably in tears and violence. They truly cannot be healthy. Why yes, my Lion Hating Agenda is showing.

Roboute: FARM. F A R M. everyone keep yelling about how Roboute should get his dram of a farm and tradwife Yvraine, when Mortarion, the CANONICAL FARMER, is RIGHT THERE. I have an entire au on how it would happen (check the tag "let roboute pet a cow 2k22"). Mort would just show up, criticize his crops skills, and take over that part of the farm. Together, they would actually slowly fall in love. Heck, you want a tradwife this badly? Make it so that Mort realise that she's a transwoman and slowly transition with the support of Rob!!

... and Vulkan: I am. So. SO. Normal about them. They definitely aren't my warhammer OTP, I absolutely didn't write a 20k+ soulmate au about them hahahaha.... But, more seriously, they are perfect for each others: Both are, at their core, simple people. Mort is a farmer, Vulkan is a smit. Both value resilience and independence. Both are fiercely loyal and come from an unique culture. Both have a strong hatred of Xenos. Both have theme of overcoming hardship and natures. Both actually really loved the humans population of their planets. And that is just the things they have in common! Because, imo, together they can bloom. Mortarion can finally allow himself to trust, to accept affection, he get to meet someone that is as resistant as him and that will *not* give up after a few of his grouchy blow up. Similarly, Vulkan get a strong partner. Someone that is not entirely dependant on him, that he can see as an equal, and yet can still use his dotting instinct over. Someone who might enjoy a more traditional, simple lifestyle. Who doesn't want to run an empire. They would get each others, and love one another in way that frankly make me stupidly emotional. I just.... I love them, ok? I love that they can *grow* together.

It went pretty well. I just chilled at home and watched my favourite musicals.

Favorite book you read last year?

Fraternity by Andy Mientus was amazing! A real page turner! One of the best, most engaging books I've read.

What was the most delicious meal you enjoyed last year?

I really wanna get into reading Ella Enchanted. I've heard good things!

What’s something you learned this year?

All the advantages of foot massages! And that keeping an 'Affirmation Board' on notion is an extreme help. I use gallery view and I put gifs and positive quotes from my favourite media and characters to look at when I'm having a bad day. I also put techniques for coping that include pressure points, breathing techniques and tips for dealing with my sensory issues, sometimes paired with a gif of a scene that reminds me of it. Wish I'd started on it years ago but it's better late!

Favorite place you visited this year?

Just the town nearest mine. It's my favourite town!

What was the most impactful life lesson you learned?

Copy & Pasted from my Affirmation Board: "There will never not be something wrong that upsets you. Perfection is a myth. Happiness is focussing on the good despite the sadness, guilt & shame that always bubble beneath. Concentrating on, replaying or having negative feelings about what hurts won’t solve the problem or make it go away. It’s ok to let it go & not punish yourself." - Quote By Me xD. I like to give myself the illusion of control over thoughts lol but looking at this has been the most helpful thing on my affirmation board for me.

Anime Update V2 34

Wolf’s Rain - You know shit’s hit the fan when the guy we thought was getting set up as the main villain gets offed at the start of the episode. Yeah, Lord Orkham got assasinated by the forces of the as of now unseen Lady Jaguara, and Hubb Lebewski, who was taken captive by the late noble’s forces, is now on the run, while his ex-wife is still held captive by our other main antagonist, Lord Darcia. And oh man, Darcia shows just how scary and efficient he is here, and by the end has Cheza back in his possession and has thwarted the four main wolves on what could’ve bene a clear pathway to Paradise.

Hunter x Hunter - Caught up to the second anime’s version of where the first anime ended, and then Chrollo used the fortune-telling ability he stole from Neon to read the futures of all Troupe members while Kurapika finally recieves Hisoka’s text message that the Spiders aren’t really dead. And so we’re approaching this arc’s real ending!

Fruits Basket - The episode that introduced Rin Sohma, the Zodiac horse who unfortunately does not meet our main characters this time and doesn’t even transform. The episode was mostly about how Hatsuharu was dealing with his and Rin’s breakup, and how his angst and potential danger to even his loved ones is paralleled with Kyo. Yuki also resolves to return to the Sohma family estate to visit Haru, which took a whole lot of courage and maturity on his part.

Rozen Maiden - My fears were confirmed - “middle school Jun” who has been communicating with adult Jun is not really middle school Jun, but Kirakishou decieving adult Jun into making a body for her. The real middle school Jun is trapped in another realm with Canaria and has been recieving adult Jun’s replies to things he never sent him to begin with! The one character who catches onto what’s really going on here is Suigintou, who of course proceeds to not alert Jun or Shinku to this because she wants to fight Kirakishou when she emerges so that she may claim her Rozen Mystica, oh you evil little shit! This is “Vegeta allows Cell to reach his Perfect form” stuff here! 

Fate Zero - Not much in the way of plot advancement this week, just more solid interactions between Saber and Irisveil, and between Gilgamesh and Kirei, who continue to provide some of the best stuff.

Revolutionary Girl Utena - 'Twas the series finale, what all can I really say about it? It was trippy and mind-blowing and eye-opening and heatwrenching and inspiring and...well, revolutionary! And I just loved the conclusion it came to. The Rose Bride/”princess” role truly is worthless to the girl who has it and only benefits the Prince, the “Prince” role itself is toxic and ultimately incapable of breaking through the Rose Gate, Anthy’s lack of self worth and internalized sexism failed her as much as Utena’s own wrong-headed idealism and aspirations to be a Prince failed her, what actually saves Anthy is Utena reaching out to her not as a Prince trying to save the damsel in distress, but as herself believing in her friend, as one young woman in need to another - one lover to another, as their hearts and hands connect. And getting to see Akio get exactly what he deserved twice was so damn satisfying. In the end, Utena did bring the world revolution, but not in the way Akio had ever understood or intended. Everyone’s own “world” is now in revolution, the Rose Bride is slave no more, and Utena is out there somewhere, waiting to be found...

Senki Zesshou Symphogear - The last thing I’d been expecting after last episode was Chris getting taken to Miku’s house and becoming her new friend, that was so sweet! And seeing Chris step up to protect Miku and other civilians put in danger from the Noise attack, Genjuro coming in to protect Chris (who takes off afterwards), Miku taking action to protect others including her estranged friend Hibiki, and of course, Hibiki coming to her rescue as the two of them rekindle their beautiful friendship afterwards. The OTP sails again!

AMC: Tengen Tonpa Gurren Lagann - Got to episode 5, which introduces characters that aren’t exactly favorites of mine, but had a central conflict that was interesting enough to hold my attention the whole way through. Kamina immediatey hating on the high priest due to him reminding of his old villages leader was hilarious, and while he’s left unable to really understand the ways of this village, he turns out to not be entirely off the mark - the high priest essentially is just the village leader disguised by religious doctrine and beliefs he doesn’t truly hold dear. By far the weakest part of the episode was the fight. I could barely make it out, the lighting was so dark and dull!

AND

Akudama Drive - Had to watch this in addition since I’d have no room for it anywhere later in the time remaining of this year. And yeah, I’ve certainly reached the halfway point of this one cours anime. I know this ‘cause main charactes have begun to fucking die!

Tell me all about Willow and Jon Grady!! I'm talking plot summary, fic link if you've got it, heck, even crossover thoughts if you want to (if not no pressure)!! (this may or not be for Jurassic OCs Weekly...)

HERE WE GO!

Willow and Jonathan Grady are the children of Owen Grady (he met their mother, Adelaide, during one of his leaves). Will’s fc is Katherine McNamara and Jon’s is Alexander Ludwig. Jon is the oldest, and is WAY more chill than Will. He’s in college around the time of the events of JW, studying to be a marine biologist. He’s legit the best big brother; when he and Will were children, he always let her hang out with him and his friends if she wanted to. Jon is also a champion swimmer (particularly in backstroke), the Mosasaurus is his fave dinosaur (he nicknamed her Moana), he likes to sail in his free time, and he has a massive crush on one of Will’s best friends (although @claryxjackson and I have a crossover with Jon and her JW OC, Cody, and they are the true OTP). Now, I should say that Jon is only briefly shown during Will’s JW story. He becomes more prominent in Fallen Kingdom.

Willow Grady is the youngest, and she has a VERY turbulent relationship with Owen. Now, as kids, she adored her dad and she would be SO excited to go and visit him when he was training the raptors because Owen had them bond with her and Jon as well. Blue, in particular, took a shine to Will. However, the relationship began to sour when Owen started becoming more focused on the raptors, and not on Jon and Will growing up. By the time JW happens, Will full on hates her dad and the raptors and refuses to have anything to do with them.

Will is an artist; she loves to sketch and paint, thanks in part to her godmother Lex Murphy (she and Adelaide were roommates in college). She also is a basketball player and an equestrian rider. She has a total of 3 pets: her first is Penny, her main horse. Second is Maya, the Husky-Wolf hybrid she bought while on a trip to MT with her friends. Third is Flicka, a wild black filly she befriended on the same MT trip. Will and Rexy have a unique bond as well; when her relationship between Owen and the raptors started to deteriorate, she would go to Rexy’s enclosure and hang with her. Over the years, Rexy started considering Will as the hatchling she never had and was VERY protective over her.

Will started out as a love interest for Zach Mitchell, but since Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins aren’t in Fallen Kingdom or Dominion, I created a new love interest for her named Leo. He was a childhood friend of Jon’s, and Will had a massive crush on him.

Her story is called Ascension, I have two chapters posted and haven’t written any more (muse is a fickle thing). Here is the link:

If you go into the comments, I have a couple of pages worth of reasons why I love this AU, but what I appreciate even more is how you have an absolutely perfect oneshot in this fic. It is a well-translated universe where we get a delightful clear, beginning, middle, and end, all in 5k. NOT an easy feat. Please enjoy.

You might've talked about this already, but any tips for writer's block???

(Disclaimer: many of these are paraphrased from writing advice I've seen and liked myself, but can't for the life of me remember where I saw it or who said it.)

1) For existing stories: have a plan. Even if you’re someone who doesn’t like planning stories, have the most basic of skeleton plans. You don’t have to come up with the whole plan at once, and you don’t have to plan every little detail. But when you think of a plot point or scene or detail or whatever that you want to use later in the story, jot it down. Don’t count on yourself to remember it. You won’t.

And if you’re a person that hates planning stories, don’t think of it as a plan. Just think of it as saving the ideas you want to use later.

2) Write down your daydreams.

No, seriously. One of my biggest challenges in writing is that when I’m trying too hard, nothing happens. My best ideas happen when my brain is just playing, not even writing, just like... Going off on intangible adventures while I wash the dishes and listen to music. I’ll surface from some complicated daydream about a band of cowboys staging a horseback rescue mission for a friend being held prisoner on a moving locomotive, ending with the horse leaping over a narrow canyon Spirit style, and suddenly I’m like “wait, shit, this is good.” This applies for individual scenes, but also plot - the same thing often happens (to me at least) for larger plot points. I’ll be happily daydreaming a scene and suddenly one of the characters tearfully says, “I expected this from the others. I did. But from you? My own brother?” And I’m like WHOA WAIT, THEY’RE SIBLINGS? PLOT TWIST! And like... sometimes that shit makes it into the actual story I’m writing (or I write it down and save it for a future story) and becomes a major part of the plot, lol.

Point being, the things you come up with when you’re not even trying - when you’re just having fun, fucking around in the fandom or in whatever various universes you’ve created in your brain (anyone else? No? Just me?) - those effortless ideas are often some of the best ones. Because of how human brains work, it can be really, really hard to force yourself to make something good.

So if you’re just happily daydreaming, and you find yourself thinking, “Damn, this is actually pretty good,” write it down. You might be able to use it later.

3) If you’re in the middle of a story / scene and you get hit with writers’ block, or you find yourself rewriting the same sentence or paragraph or page over and over, or simply feel unable to continue forward - your problem is not that sentence / paragraph / page, it’s several sentences / paragraphs / pages back.

For example: if you can’t seem to figure out what a character should say next, first try the usual thing and plan ahead. Where does this conversation need to go? What needs to be revealed? What emotional beats need to occur? What information needs to pass from character to character? Does it need to continue? Maybe you just need to cut the scene or have the next plot point happen there.

But if none of that (the “usual stuff”) is working, don’t look ahead, look back. Your problem is probably actually a few lines ago. The conversation meandered too far from what it was supposed to be, or the conversation could have been three lines and it just kept going on for two pages after the plot point ended, or you’re not sure what the emotional beats of the scene are supposed to be so you’re floundering.

When trying to move forward isn’t working, look back instead. Mid-story writers’ block is often a sign that something went awry a little while ago, and you’re seeing the symptoms now. The stubborn paragraph is the check-engine light, not the engine itself. Go back and read over the last page (or more, depending on how big the issue is) and see if you can feel out what the issue is. Did the plot point end two or three pages ago and you just never stopped the scene? Are you relying too much on action and dialogue but forgot to describe the scene as it goes on, so it’s all happening in kind of a vague gray void? Did you get into a rut of repetitive sentence structure because you lost the flow a while ago, and now you’re just cranking out words mechanically?

4) Don’t be afraid to write “stupid version:” at the top of the page and just go for it, in the most cheesy, over-the-top, bad, obvious, flat, boring, illogical, improbable, unbelievable way. Or whatever way ends up coming out of you. You can go back and fix it once you’ve found the ideas you want to hold onto. Remember, “the first draft (whether that’s for the entire story, or just a draft of a single scene, or a single page, or a single paragraph) is for making it exist. The second draft is for making it functional. The third draft is for making it effective.” (I’m paraphrasing and I don’t remember where that quote came from, I’m sorry.)

5) If you’re having writers’ block on in coming up with new ideas, here are some things that work for me:

-Write down your daydreams (see above)

-Listen to music. Soundtracks and video game music are great because they’re designed to support a narrative, and to almost tell a story of their own. But, like, any music. I often end up making little “trailers” in my head when I listen to songs I’m currently taken with, and sometimes I’m like “Hey those could be some good elements for an actual story.”

-Look back at old notes for story ideas, if you keep any

-Or, look through any medium you use to save ideas - playlists, pinterest boards, art, whatever.

-Consume other content. I know that’s old advice that literally everyone gives, but hey, it works. You’re great and your brain is great, but you are not a closed ecosystem. You can’t just keep creating, growing, thriving all on your own without taking in and integrating other people’s ideas. Read something. Watch something. Read fanfic, see what the fandom’s up to. Reintroduce yourself to an old favorite with new eyes, or seek out something you’ve never seen before. Watch one of those old classic black and white movies that you never got around to watching. Read a book in a genre you don’t usually read. Find a terrible, I mean truly awful show and watch it with someone you can laugh with. Look at art. Ask the people in your life about their passions and their weird little cornerstones of knowledge.

-Give yourself time. Let yourself percolate. Let yourself think.

-Write yourself into an idea. Open up that dreaded blank page, switch to red ink, and just start typing like “Okay so it’s a werewolf story I think but not one of those pulp romances with the Alpha Wolf or whatever shit, I think I like the idea that it’s about the pack dynamic, so like a family story? But maybe the main character is a human. Do they get adopted by the pack for some reason? Why? Maybe they like... saved one of the pups or something. How did the pup end up in danger?” Etc.

6) It’s hard to force your brain to be interested in something it’s not currently interested in. If you’ve been super into sci fi and are all about Star Wars and Firefly right now, but you’ve been meaning to write a gritty crime mystery for like ever... you’re probably gonna have a hard time writing a gritty crime fiction if all your brain wants to think about is spaceships. (Unless you set the gritty crime mystery in a sci-fi setting 👀)

Trying to control your muse is like trying to leash a cat. You’re probably gonna have way greater success (and way more fun) if you just write whatever the hell you wanna write, whether that’s a 300K spy drama or another fake dating AU for your OTP even though you’ve already written two. (I promise you, nobody’s ever gonna get tired of it.)

How many works do you have on AO3?

Three across both my accounts. I used to have a lot more on one of them, but I went through a period of wanting to destroy everything I'd ever created, so I binned most of my works.

What’s your total AO3 word count?

It's like 8(ish)k across both accounts.

How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they?

Teen Wolf, MCU, Riverdale and Bridgerton, though only the first and last are on AO3.

What are your top five fics by kudos?

'The Queen and The Knight', but that's because I deleted all the other ones. It's a one-shot, so the fact that it has 110 kudos is pretty neat.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try to, but ADHD makes me forget. I will go back a reread them, though, if I'm feeling unmotivated.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Bold of you to assume I've ever finished anything *cough* ADHD *cough*

Do you write crossovers? If so, what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Nope. I can barely keep track of one plot/storyline.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Haven't we all?

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

No. I tried once, but it was just awkward and clumsy. It was years ago, though, and my writing has improved significantly, so maybe I'll give it a go again. I definitely want Cracks of Light to have hints of smut.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of. I almost accused someone of stealing an oc/fic idea once, but then I got off my high horse and realized I don't exactly have a monopoly on names/ideas/face claims. We're all creative people, especially within the OC community.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! A reader contacted me to ask if they could translate a one-shot of mine into Russian, promising they would provide me with full credits and send me a link once it was posted to a Russian fic website. I said they could, and it was incredible. I wish I still had the link.

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Depends on the fandom. Although, I will say that my tag for Stiles and Lydia was 'otp of all otps', probably them.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

All of them? For real, though, I don't think I'll ever finish Of Blood and Bones no matter how much I want to. Once Teen Wolf stopped airing, I lost interest.

What are your writing strengths? What are your writing weaknesses?

I consider writing humor a strength of mine, and I don't think I could ever write something without an element of humor. Action is definitely my main weakness but remembering to make people do things while they speak. 84 lines of pure dialogue is not good writing, but it's damn tempting.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I think I'm the wrong person to answer this question as English is my second language. If it's necessary, try to verify it with a native speaker if you can.

What was the first fandom you’ve written for?

We don't talk about that. I was 13 at the time, and I refuse to give this information up.

What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

Right now, it's tied between Shadows and Cracks of Light. Shadows is my baby. My lovechild, if you will. It's the fic that got me out of a writing slump but then later put me back in one. Cracks of Light is my newest fic (I only posted chapter 1 yesterday), but I love it. It's my most well-written, thought out, well-paced story to date. I have a clear grasp of the characters, their stories, and where I ultimately want to take it. I'm proud of it.

A favorite canon moment: Okay, so I’ve managed to write two chapters of Will’s story. The third chapter is to have the moment where Will just LOSES it at Owen, and rips him to shreds about how he is the worst father ever and the fact that he chose the raptors over her YET AGAIN just sealed the deal. Basically, she tells him that she is never speaking to him again, during her time there and after she leaves
