I don’t know if you’ve been asked this before, but what would your ideal type of girlfriend would be? 😳
oh gosh okay let me think; thank you for the ask, anon!
my shortform answer is my anime waifu; to be vague using concepts of astrology stereotypes, someone who's a virgo or capricorn lean? there's a whole list under the cut though!
my longform answer is that:
it's got to be someone i feel like i could get comfortable/intimate with physically, and someone who wasn't afraid to offer critique when asked for it.
someone who might think about differing ways to pamper me; any type of love languages would be accepted tbh?
someone who thinks of or about me when i'm not around (with some material proof; a letter or poem or gift would be nice...)
someone who's willing to communicate to me their desires and try their best to adapt as i do for their too
someone i could argue with on disagreements, but drop all grudges at the end of the day if it's not a deal breaker;
someone who would consider my viewpoints and try to understand where i'm coming from, as i do for their, in pursuit of proper resolution
someone who's willing to let me visit them and vice versa for casual meetings (i love dropping by with gifts or for a short hello!)
someone who i can work out a schedule with; sometimes for dates, but also for ease of home planning (and i also think scheduling sex is really hot)
someone who's in it for the long haul, despite the possibility of it not working out. someone who has time and space in their life to try co-living situations, maybe prepared to discuss bigger life decisions, etc
someone who's my biggest cheerleader despite everything would be nice...
someone i could also hold an intellectual conversation with! i'm not fussy about credentials or knowledge, just someone whose values and logic/reasoning skills are sound
someone who's willing to try! at things they're not comfortable with or great at
someone who's willing to be patient with me
someone who's proactive in the bedroom? 🥺 (i'm the most audible bitch in there amazon would be ashamed. also having someone push me around while they're doming is hot... and someone who's willing to direct me on how to pleasure themselves would be great!)
(whoever this imaginary girlfriend is: please tell me you love me 🥺🥺🥺)
physically it's someone who's:
butch/gnc
short hair, lithe build,
sharp eyes, asian; but that's because they're usually the type of girls i see irl that i crush on haha :0c also foot note that asians can have wider eyes too!
height doesn't matter too much! (somehow i end up finding shorter women though???)
lives nearby, minimally in the same country; i'm not okay with long-distance relationships anymore!

When your father tried his best to provide for you but he worked all the time and even when he was home he was either tired or stressed and he’s always liked to get drunk to relax and cheer up. When you know he values work ethics and respectability so you grew up to be capable and quiet. And when he says you’re like him you’re sort of puzzled, does he really know you so little, or does he know himself so little? But you like the feeling of your father ruffling your hair so you accept it, and still you stand next to your mother just as silent and just as stoic as her during family gatherings. He leaves again and again and when your mother leaves him nothing changes, really. You wonder if it’s more telling that you know him better than he seems to himself or that you don’t know him as much as you wish you did, or that you don’t think about him all that much these days. Out of sight, out of mind. And he’s never really been there, even when he was there, after all.

Now having watched Frankenstein (1931) I find this really interesting. I didn't really expect the writers themselves to have watched the film; I assumed they saw it was a horror film released in Pete's time and included it with the bonus that the audience would know the story because its Frankenstein. It really aligns with the themes of spider noir though, so I'm second guessing myself.
I read Frankenstein a while back so I'm not as familiar with it as I once was, but I'd say its generous to say the movie is based off of the original novel. It hits some of the points but it really is different. I mean, in the film its Henry Frankenstein, not even Victor.
In the film, the monster is played almost-infantile. He reaches out towards light as if he could grab it. He plays with a little girl by a lake, throwing in flowers to watch them float like boats. When he kills her, it's an accident. How could he have known that she wouldn't float along with the flowers? Its Frankenstein and his assistant who are portrayed as monstrous. They lock him in the dark for three days. The intimidate him with fire and whips and fists.
Despite this, its Frankenstein who gets the 'good end,' while the monster is left to burn alive, pinned inside a wooden mill set alight by the townspeople.
Pete could have gotten nightmares from a number of scenes. Although I wouldn't personally say this is a scary film, there are definitely unnerving parts. There was also a different standard in 1931 for what was scary in film, plus Pete was already living a hard life at such a young age when he saw it.
Based on the panels themselves it is clear that Pete was scared of the monster itself (which is fair, the make up and costuming wanted him to be frightening). "I expected him to tell me there's no such thing as monsters," because no one in real life is a resurrected, looming... once-man-now-creature. (Just you wait, Peter). It's a more juvenile read of the film but Pete is a kid. Ben though, is a veteran, a socialist, has been around the block. He has the sense to analyze the film and interpret it differently. It is the men who find themselves with a capacity for senseless cruelty that are the monsters. That is exactly what the noir comics are about.
I really like that it's clear that Uncle Ben knows what Peter is about to learn. It also shows how much Pete has changed, just within the 1-2 years since he'd seen Frankenstein.

Well I've finally gone insane enough to draw a (dreamworks) trollsona!
She's an alt/indie rock troll who plays the bass guitar, inspired by the musical stylings of Mitski whom I adore 🫶 somewhat sadgirl, occasionally angry, but always with very very big emotions aaaand she has no name at the moment.
(And ofc she's got the fattest crush on Queen Barb and a lot of her songs are secretly about her sssh~)

Welcome Home Mini Comic: Homewarming
⚠️TW: eyecontact
[Read left to right up+down. No wierd combinations. No, I didn't look up their Homewarming clothing if you're wondering. I messed up.]
AAAAAAH oh boy the love I have for Eddie I CANNOT explain. LIKE HES SO LOVELY OUGHHHH favourite local mailman. <3
Idk if I made correct use of the image ID? I hope I did.
Hm... this was suposed to be a ramble about my guy Eddie but here, have a short fic under the cut.
He is just there. Uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable. The feeling of doom is there. Why. Why is home looking at him like that? What is going on? He wants to go home. He needs to go home. Does he have a home? He has his post office... does that count? Why is home looking at him like that. He needs it to stop. Stop. Stop it. Please. Stop. Oh? Who...? Frank? He can't talk. He realizes vaguely. His eyes go up. Frank... He needs to tell him... His vission is blurry and he feels overwhelmed. He feels... overestimulated..? He doesn't know. He doesn't feel good. Too much... he needs to go home... he needs... he...
And Frank gets it and goes to tell Wally that he wants to leave. Leave? On homewarming? Why? What's wrong? Because something has to be wrong if Eddie of all people wants to leave. So he goes check up on him. Of course he does. Barnaby close behind because... Why does Eddie want to leave? They don't know. But he isn't looking great. He is staring. Shaking. Sweating. Crying silently. That doesn't looks good.
Wally gets it. He would like to do the same. Because Home is now looking at him. Because of course it does. Just... staring. Meanacely. He feels the dread. A chill goes down his spine. Home... what did you do to Eddie...?
Barnaby, fortunately, catches up somethings off with Home. And that means Wallys distressed. So he puts a paw on his shoulder and asks Eddie. He doesn't answer. He tells him what he's going to do as he puts his arm to support Eddie and help him walk so he can go home. He is worried. Wally is worried. Frank is worried. Eddie doesn't look good. He shakes. He won't stop crying. He looks... terrified..? He tries to loose up his shirt. He needs to breathe. He can't. But he is. The others realize a bit too late that he is hyperventilating. Wally does only when he sees Eddie's legs wobble. But then he just... shuts down and goes limp. What. What. What. Why. Why. What. What. No. No. No. What. No. Wait. He can help. Yes. Bed. Bed! He needs... yes, yes! He in bed now. He better? What? What? He better? Please... He opens eyes! He better! Low sugar? More sugar then! He bring sugar. Yes. He better now?
Eddie tries to calm Wally with his words. He doesn't know what just happened. He just... sat down at that couch and suddenly was at Wallys bed, all neighbors worrying sick over him. What happened? He just... has this feeling... something changed.
