a/n: the phantom thieves truly are the reader protection squad!

the phantom thieves had their eyes on you from the very start, when it were just ren, ryuji and ann! even back then, you had already captured their attention and would slowly make them fall in love with you as the months passed by

you were more of a loner yourself, which was why you were always kind to the three of them. ren and ryuji were unjustifiably labeled as delinquents, while you knew all the rumors about ann were unfounded!

your kindness was what made the three of you fall in love with you and they always tried to find time for you, even when they were busy as the phantom thieves!

as yusuke and makoto joined the phantom thieves, it didn't take long for them to get to know you too! after all, ann, ryuji and ren wouldn't shut up about you, so they already heard a lot about you, before they finally met you

yusuke was drawn to you immediately, mesmerized by your beauty, both inside and outside

meanwhile makoto was a little more reluctant, unable to see what the others saw in you at first. but that would soon change…

by the time futaba and haru completed the phantom thieves, the love triangle situation had gotten even more complicated

for futaba, you were the one person outside of the phantom thieves that she got along with, leading to her growing attached to you and falling for you, just like her friends had!

and for haru you were a great support as well, during the difficult time after her father's death. so much so that seeing how kind you were finally opened makoto's eyes too to how special you truly were

despite all of the phantom thieves having fallen in love with you, there was barely any jealousy between them! sure, each one of them wanted to end up with you, but their main concern was your happiness! if anyone deserved to be happy, it was you…

so instead of fighting amongst each other, the phantom thieves worked together to protect you and make you happy wherever they could! you might not even notice it most of the time, but they always kept an eye out for you, taking care or anything that could threaten to trouble you…

it also made it hard for other people to approach you, as you essentially had an entire group of bodyguards constantly around you. only that you never realized how this looked from the outside and just saw this as friends hanging out together!

perhaps you were a little too oblivious at times, as you didn't even seem to realize how madly in love they all were with you. but none of the phantom thieves wanted to confess to you, as they were all happy with the way things were. as long as they got to keep you in their lives, they were content!

I like the male harem x reader about Persona 5! Can you do the harem's reactions about the reader's death when she pushes Akechi out of the way and gets killed instead of him? It was the time when Akechi died in the game and anime.

Well, that wasn’t expected.

Akechi was ready to be stuck and die in that palace. He was ready to lose it all.

Yet somehow, right before the wall closed, you pushed him toward the rest of the phantom thieves, taking his spot in death.

“Why?” is all he could think. Akechi takes all the blame within himself.

Ryuji would WANT to blame Akechi, but he knows deep down that it isn’t true. It wasn’t his fault and he hated it.

Ren’s beyond devastated, and feels partially a failure of a leader. But, he tries to make sure your sacrifice won’t be in vain, even if it means becoming friends with Akechi.

Yusuke is just as confused and lost, being more quiet. He withdraws himself a lot, being too quiet. 

Yusuke can’t even paint or draw. What is there to create? 

Ryuji is more angrier than usual, a bit more aggressive as well. He knows he is and he hates it, but he can’t help it. This is especially more prominent towards Akechi.

Akechi at first avoids the Phantom Thieves at all costs, but after a talk with Ren, he comes to a conclusion to help and be part of the Phantom Thieves in hopes of doing the right thing for you.

After all, it would be what you wanted, right?

RELATIONSHIP: Kitagawa Yusuke x Reader

SUMMARY: Yusuke grapples with the idea of form over function. You just want to decipher his cryptic texts.

A/N: Day 6 of the Hanami event! Happy spring to everyone's favorite lobster boy!

“I’m so sorry that I’ve failed you…”

“Hang on— what are we talking about?”

There was nothing more terrifying than getting a text from a partner that read: We need to talk, it’s urgent. But, Yusuke also texted like that normally, which made it quite difficult to parse what was actually serious.

“I’m in trouble.” Yusuke sent that text when he couldn’t scrounge up pocket change to buy from the vending machine.

“It’s dangerous outside, be careful.” Yusuke sent that text after a rain shower and he didn’t want (Name) stepping in puddles.

“There’s an emergency, I need you.” Yusuke sent that text when he was feeling lonely and wanted to cuddle with (Name). They did so after a harsh scolding about how that absolutely was not an emergency.

With those previous texts in mind, the rational part of (Name) assumed that it was another instance of Yusuke being dramatic in his texts. The irrational part of (Name), though, thought the possibility of Yusuke breaking up with them was technically nonzero. And that was horrifying.

Yusuke was a train ride away, so (Name) had no other choice but to wring their hands in their lap as the train approached their stop. Nothing was wrong in their relationship; nothing that (Name) was aware of, at least. It would be silly to jump to the conclusion that Yusuke would break up with them out of nowhere, but his texting style was the opposite of comforting and left too much room for worry.

Their grim thoughts were interrupted by the announcement of the train arriving at Shibuya station. (Name) followed the crowd that exited the train and made a beeline for the stairs to the underground mall. Yusuke enjoyed hanging out there, inspired by its hustle and bustle and bright colors, but made the oddly specific request to meet up in front of the Big Bang Burger.

It was never difficult to spot Yusuke in a crowd— not just because of his tall stature, but because his eccentric energy permeated the area whenever he was looking around. (Name) described his aura as magnetic, but, apparently, others found it off-putting. 

Even with their worry, (Name) couldn’t help but smile when they saw Yusuke leaning against the wall beside Big Bang Burger. (Name) pushed through the hustle and bustle and tugged on Yusuke’s sleeve.

That was when he bowed and apologized for his failures, leaving (Name) staring in confusion. They grabbed his shoulders, trying to pull him back up.

Yusuke was unmoving from his bow. “I’ve realized my actions have been inadequate…”

Oh no, was this actually a break up? An it’s not you, it’s me situation? (Name)’s heart plummeted into their stomach and their grip tightened on his shoulders.

“H- Hey! Are you breaking up with me?” They tried to figure out where they went wrong. Were they too clingy? Too pushy? A bad listener? Any little action that failed to be charming flashed through their brain and (Name) tried to figure out what specifically could make Yusuke want to break up with them.

Yusuke straightened his posture again in an instant, eyes wide and confused. “Breaking up with you..? Of course not. Why would you think that?”

It was a day of many emotions and the next one (Name) felt was annoyance. Relief was mixed in, too, now secure knowing that Yusuke wasn’t breaking up with them— but how could he be so oblivious?!

(Name) let out a sigh, relieved, before crumpling Yusuke’s shirt between their fingers in their grip. “Why would I think that?! Oh, I don’t know! Maybe the ominous we need to talk text and you saying that you’ve failed me! What was I supposed to think?!”

Yusuke tapped his chin in thought, considering (Name)’s words. It took him a few seconds to come to a conclusion: “Oh. I see how my words would come off that way. I apologize… I would never break up with you. I love you.”

How could (Name) stay mad when Yusuke confessed his love like it was just another breath? It was tempting, though, so they breathed out a sigh and dropped their head forward onto Yusuke’s chest. “Forgiven, I guess. I love you, too. Still, what are you talking about?”

They felt his arms wrap around them, pulling the rest of their body closer to press his cheek against the top of their head. Yusuke had a gentle touch but moved with the purpose of an experienced artist; his hands always landed in the same spots on (Name)’s upper back and hip. He held on for a few seconds in silence, savoring the physical contact between them, before loosening his grip to look at (Name) again.

“Dumplings over flowers.”

(Name) turned their head up from Yusuke’s chest, brows furrowed. “Please start with the context.”

“The saying, ‘Dumplings over flowers.’ I heard it for the first time, recently. Have you heard it before?”

They chewed on the inside of their lip, searching through their memories. “I mean, yeah. But it’s not like people say it all the time.” And there was still no answer on how this related to Yusuke somehow failing them.

Yusuke moved back, but his hands still lingered on (Name). “I heard Makoto-san say it to Akira-kun, so I asked what it meant. If ‘Dumplings over flowers’ means practicality over aesthetic, haven’t I failed you? I like giving you flowers…”

Moments like this made (Name) remember that this wasn’t just Yusuke’s first romantic relationship, but also one of the first meaningful relationships he’s made in his life in general. Yusuke had mentioned several times before that he’s learned a lot about interacting with people since making friends with (Name), and this was another one of those learning moments.

(Name) reached up to cradle his cheek with one hand. “And I like receiving flowers! Not everything has to be practical.”

That declaration made his eyes widen. Yusuke tilted his head, either in confusion or as way to lean into (Name)’s touch. Or both. “Is that so..? What’s the point of the phrase then? I thought I understood it’s point. Practical things like food make better gifts than something that just dies.”

(Name)’s lip curled upward. “‘Nothing gold can stay.’ Y’know the phrase? It’s western.” When Yusuke shook his head, (Name) continued. “Beauty is fleeting. When you give me flowers, I don’t look at them and see something that will die. I feel loved, because you saw something beautiful and thought of me.”

One of the reasons Yusuke fell in love with (Name) was the way they understood him. He learned, a little too recently for most people’s tastes, that his personality was considered enigmatic and difficult to decipher. Maybe he didn’t think like the average person but Yusuke never considered that a flaw, even if some people looked at him strangely for it. But, (Name) never seemed bothered and always found the right words to say— even if they were still confused by Yusuke’s line of thinking every now and then.

“I see,” Yusuke started. He let his mind chew on (Name)’s words for a few moments before smiling, letting out a small huff. “Of course I think of you when I see flowers. Unlike flowers, though, your beauty is not fleeting. You’re beauty blooms at all times of the year.”

He was painter first and foremost, but Yusuke could easily be mistaken for a poet with the way he spoke. (Name) leaned forward and connected their smiles for a kiss, and Yusuke pulled them back in for another when they separated for air. He started off as a clumsy kisser but (Name) would dare to call him experienced by this point, with the way his hand squeezed their hip to keep them close to his chest.

A passerby, on their phone and not paying attention, bumped into Yusuke’s shoulder as they passed by, forcing (Name) to have the startling realization that they were still in the middle of the underground mall. (Name) pulled away and narrowly avoided Yusuke’s attempt to capture another kiss before they got too far.

“You never explained why you wanted to meet here,” (Name) said, regaining their breath and fixing their freshly tousled hair.

Yusuke’s eyes lit up. “How could I forget! The point of the phrase was that food was the most practical gift, right? I wanted to treat you to a meal.” He gestured to the burger joint with a proud smile and sparkling eyes.

(Name) blinked. “So, briefly, you thought that Big Bang Burger was a more meaningful gift than flowers?”

“When you describe it like that, you make it sound as if this was an unreasonable conclusion. But, someone wise just told me that the value of a gift is measured by the love and affection behind it.” Yusuke pressed a chaste kiss to (Name)’s cheek before they had the chance to react. “And there is nothing I love more than to see you happy and fed.”

He truly outmatched the rest of the world personality wise, (Name) was sure of it. They laughed and linked arms with him. “How can I argue with that? Let’s eat!”

Sometimes true love was in flowers, and sometimes it was in a greasy burger.

When you said you were into photography, Yosuke thought it was going to be one of two things

“Boring” nature shots of Inaba OR cool, epic action shots (*cough* of him *cough*)

So imagine his surprise when you ask him to model for your photos

And imagine his surprise becoming even bigger and MORE dramatic when you tell him you don’t want action shots of him splashing in the take or riding a scooter- you want to take portraits of him

Begrudgingly, he’ll accept (because he loves you too much hehe) but he’s going to be awkward about it the whole time

You’ll probably take him around beautiful sights around Inaba like the shrine or the Flood Plains around sunset and have to coach him through all these different positions and poses

You’ll probably have to tell him a thousand times to “smile normally” and “stop looking miserable” because he’s starting to get bored just “standing around and looking pretty for you”

But once you show him the final product, don’t worry- he’ll be amazed at your skill and just amazed at how good you made him look

Sure, he may grumble a bit about how you took hours dragging him around only to end up with less than 10 photos that you’re satisfied with but he does thank you profoundly 

You made him feel beautiful and loved when you showed him just how good your favorites looked (in the most, manly way he swears)

Yusuke Kitagawa

Yusuke is a guy who GETS it (kinda)

Since the man is (primarily? completely?) a painter and you’re medium of choice is photography, there are definitely some rules and ways of going about finding and showcasing a subject that differs between the two of you

But an artist can absolutely appreciate another artist’s work, even if you both engage in different forms of art so expect this guy to 100% be your biggest hype man

Y’all probably go back and forth with trying to spark inspiration for each other when one of you is stuck in a slump

Either way, Yusuke is not only honored- he’s thrilled to pieces when you ask him to be your model one day

Though he’s a bit difficult to work with at first

He has his own eye for aesthetics and naturally prefers to do his own poses and expressions (while maybe even directing how you should frame him in the photograph)

But once he cools his jets and lets you do your thing, everything works out

He’s more than happy with seeing your final product and he’s really able to understand your vision once he sees it come alive in the printed photographs

Might even make him so happy that he’ll make a completely abstract painting of his emotions in that moment and even name it after you haha <3

I STILL haven’t even finished this game—the farthest I’ve gotten is RIGHT after Futaba’s palace.

Akira:

-> You could be as clingy as you want and he would just accept it.

-> He would reciprocate your affection with a smile on his face.

-> If he’s having a conversation, he won’t let go of you as long you’re comfortable with it. He’d just casually be holding onto your waist while chatting with someone else.

Ryuji:

-> He’s also fine with PDA, but he’s not so nonchalant about it when people approach.

-> Whether he’d let go of you or not depends in who came up to him. If it’s his ex-teammates or a few teachers (like Kawakami), he’d let go. If it’s his friends or a target (like Kamoshida), he’d probably just hold on tighter.

-> Would blush when you grab or kiss him out of nowhere.

Yusuke:

-> Definitely more refined when it comes to PDA.

-> When alone or hanging around his friends, he’d be all over you and vice versa.

-> If around others, the farthest he’d go is holding you hand or kissing your cheek.

Akechi:

-> With his public image, PDA is insanely rare.

-> In most cases, the two of you would just be spotted together, not touching at all. Not even holding hands or with linked arms.

You and Ren were very close to each other, you could almost say you were in a relationship, you felt great affection for him, but you didn't know if he felt the same. You've been feeling worse for a while,sometimes you vomited or stayed home and didn't go to school. Ren then offered to come to you with Miss Takamaki to keep you company.

Your disease was Hanahaki, which is a disease caused by unrequited love.

You wanted to tell Takamaki, but you didn't have time, neither of them wanted to leave you,you finally spoke to Ren, who was hugging you.

– Hey Ren, could you bring us a cup of apple juice? – You asked.

Ren reluctantly crawled out of your arms and rose from the bed.

– Okay, I'll bring a drink for your sake, I'll be back in a moment. –

Curly quickly disappeared through the door, closing it behind him. After a moment of uncertainty, you decided to tell Takamaki about your illness.

– Hey, Ann, I.... I have something to tell you, but you can't tell that to our other friend's. Expect Ren, I don't want him to be worry about me... –

Takamaki looked at you, grabbed your hands and then looked at you.

– Yes Y/N? You know that you can tell me what you want, your secret is only for myself. –

You took a deep breath and then looked at her too.

– I have Hanahaki... I have 3 options.... One of them is to tell him how I feel about him. The second one is surgery, but... – you took a deep breath before continuing again

– I will forget who he is, that I felt something for him, that he was my friend.... And the third one.... If I don't do anything.... His favorite flowers will kill me.... I don't wanna die.... Takamaki could barely hold back her tears, she quickly wiped them with her sleeve, I would like to hear her answer... but she was interrupted by Ren who came back with a drink... You couldn't describe the feeling you had for him, your heart was beating faster with every passing second whenever he was around you.

Ren found out about your illness, the sudden coughing attack started at the worst time for you.You wanted to tell him about your illness today, but it turned out differently than you planned...

After these words, Ren stood up, sitting on your legs, he looked at you.

You took a deep breath and grabbed his hands, he smiled again and moved closer to you so he could look at your blushing face.

You didn't have time to finish, the curly-haired one placed his hand on your cheek and then closed the distance between your bodies. He smiled at you and then kissed you. Slightly in shock, you kissed him back, you had been waiting for this moment for a long time, your lips danced, you could finally taste his cherry lips.

A string of saliva stretched as Ren pulled away from you, his entire face red as he smiled at you.

– I love you too, Y/N! I'll never leave you, you're my everything~–

I’m mostly to myself, but once I get to know someone I’ll be annoying to the point that I know I’m annoying. I get along with customers and again, it’ll take me a while… but I will be that one cashier who knows what you get and ask if you want more lmao.
