It's been a long year and it's only February…
Well, it's time to put this out there: I've had a fairly shitty few years (like, haven't we all, obviously), but it's included a long, expensive legal battle against unscrupulous cysts, which is finally concluded satisfactorily save being left somewhat skint on the other side of it. Doesn’t help that said battle meant that I had to move house - not exactly a low activity on the expense and stress scales…
So I'm looking for extra work, to help while we wait for the Luxury Space Communism to kick in (I'd settle for Universal Basic Income or an end to the Housing and Cost of Living Crisis, tbh).
Things I do to a professional standard include:
Creative Mentoring and Tutoring (writing and performance techniques, especially for poetry - bespoke or standard workshops available for groups as well as one-to-one).
Project Management (feeling overwhelmed by a project you want to get off the ground and/ or run within budget and timescale? I can help with that).
Business Change Management (you need to expand or shift your business focus? I can help that happen in a well-managed fashion).
Performance Poetry (got a bunch of poems, 18 years' experience delivering them live, and a nice voice).
Writing to Commission (especially poetry, but I write both fictive prose and essays too).
Voice Acting and Narration (I've acted in audio dramas and narrated short stories, training videos, and so far one documentary).
Book and Pamphlet Production (I operate a small press).
Basic website setup and maintenance.
Training on any of the above.
I have a sliding scale of rates depending on customer circumstances, and you can book me for a free initial consultation via my website: https://www.fayroberts.co.uk/crass-commercialism/services/
And if you fancy just sending me money because you're generous, I have a ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/fayroberts

I feel like anyone who's about to embark on attempting to type out a character's accent phoentically (at least as well as one can with English) should probably stop for a moment before they get going and ask themselves, "How would I, myself, feel about a fic where the one character who sounds like me had their speech written out like this and every other character just got their dialogue left in standard spelling?" I feel like a lot of people would tone it down a bit, at least, if they'd done that thought experiment first.
(Anyone who answered "but I don't have an accent!" isn't allowed to write out anyone else's accent, ever. This rule may seem harsh but you need it. Really, you do. Because you've never had anyone treat your accent as abnormal or comical or wrong, so you really don't know what you're inflicting on others here.)

Love that despite Oltyx's grumping about how every other necron around him sucks and he only likes maybe 2-3 other people, he's the one necron in canon who's had guardians and protectors from every walk of life. First his family (Djoseras, and once upon a time, Unnas), then the nobles of varying stations (e.g. Yenekh and Parreg), all the way to those of lowborn origin (Neth and Pakhet) who are dearly devoted to his well-being. Outsiders too, like Mentep and Zultanekh, not to mention every Flayed One by the end of his story!
It doesn't surprise me that the final mode of society he settles on as Valgûl is more egalitarian than literally any other necron dynasty out there. Despite the universe trying its best to crush Oltyx's ability to relate to other people out of him, Oltyx was more cared for than he let himself believe, and had more respect than he gave credit for. When it comes down to it, this was a boy who was very loved, and I'm glad he came to terms with it at the end 😭💖

Sometimes I just remember that the final assignment I wrote for my Bachelors degree was an essay about the representations of sexual intimacy in the early seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And then I also remember that this is what I titled it
Edit: By request you can now read a summary of the points in the essay here (x)

Hey guys, so, I have been thinking, does someone here need help with school? Tutoring, problems & homework resolution, etc.? Because if anyone needs help with math, science (chemistry and physics), history, literature, I can help for a small monetary compensation (I'm talking like, US$5 for an hour long online tutoring via Google Meet).
Truth is, the prices for Ati's (my dog) and my mom's medicines are getting through the roof, and I know that the educational level is getting even lower globally. So since I enjoy teaching, maybe I can help someone out and myself in the process.
Just a thought, lemme know if y'all need or know someone that may need help with school!

Have you ever been to Israel ? Or are you planning to ever go to Israel? b'ezrat hashem that’s one of the first things I’m gonna do when I finish my conversion, is go to the holy land. So excited
I have not been outside my state in over three years, so I hope this answers your question 😭
My dad has mentioned wanting to go to Israel and honestly, I'd go with him if that were ever to happen. I have very mixed thoughts about what I want, but if I go to a different country, I'd probably only really want to go to Israel, especially because I'm using most of my language study time on Hebrew (though I'd also go to Germany with my dad because he really wants to go there again and... we're also German, so). There are a lot of things I'd want to collect from Israel, too... 🙏
