ROSE: "I'm a writer" is always a great excuse.
JUNE: why are you researching aztec culture?
ROSE: I’m a writer.
ERIDAN: wwhy are you searchin poisonous flowers
ROSE: I’m a writer.
TEREZI: WHY 1S TH3R3 4 D34D BODY 1N YOUR 4TTIC >:?
ROSE: I’m a writer.
DIRK: Yeah, god forbid you follow your natural curiosity without some self-serving mass-marketed artifice.
ROSE: Yes, that is the reason why there is a dead body in my attic. Natural curiosity.

To you Gordon 🌸and💍

........
For 🌸
I decided to make Gordon surrounded by flowers and plants that are known to help people go to sleep.
since this man hasn't slept in who knows how long, because he is making sure everyone is safely going to the mainland to not die from the corruption in my au

For 💍
To be honest I feel like Gordon would just be so confused and shocked

Plant by Mare
Plant is a non-linear story about a fairy and a human and their relationship. It’s a quietly beautiful love story with an edge of tragedy— both the grief of tragedy past and the danger of tragedy looming in the future.
Tumblr media
I LOVE PLANT so much… there’s so many things going on in this story and they all feel so fully realized. Part tender character study, part fae modern fantasy. Slice-of-life, hurt/comfort. Since the story is written outside of linear time, there’s even almost a puzzle aspect in figuring out where different chapters fit into the overall timeline of the plot. The writing of this comic reminds me of poetry— it’s a work with a lot of depth and complexity, but the pieces of the story are so beautifully chosen and arranged that the overall experience of the comic is one of deceptive simplicity.

Multiple times I’ve just sent the art of this comic to a friend and just said LOOK AT HOW PRETTY THIS IS! READ THIS! with no further elaboration to what the comic is about, and honestly? The art is a pretty good hook. The creator clearly knows their craft. The settings have tons of fun little details and I also like the fashion design. I’ve mentioned that this comic has a lot of big feelings too, and those feelings are SO perfectly rendered— anger and sadness and grief and tiredness and happiness and humor and wonder ALL have moments to shine in this comic, and they really hit me in the chest every time. I will note about the art, if I had to critique one thing I’d say that occasionally the hand lettering can be a bit hard to make out. Personally it doesn’t cause me any issues but I can imagine that if you have difficulty reading imprecise lettering it could be a challenge.

also I LOOOOOOOVE!!!!!!! the characters. In between the moments of quietness and drama the dialogue and expressions of the characters, especially the faerie Varpu, are so lively and funny. I love u varpu

Overall, this is one of those comics that I’ve read three or so times already, and EVERY time I get something new out of it! like I feel I didn’t really see it correctly the last time I read it, like each time I read it I get new eyes. Really delicious comic and one of my favorites to recommend.

This vegan spin on shakshuka is made with spinach and lemony pan-fried tofu (in place of eggs!) in a smoky tomato and red pepper sauce. It’s perfect for breakfast or dinner, easy to make, and absolutely delicious scooped up on crusty pita wedges.

Wakame
“Undaria pinnatifida is a brown seaweed that reaches an overall length of 1-3 m. Undaria is a native of the Japan Sea and the northwest Pacific coasts of Japan and Korea. In Japan, Undaria, known locally as 'wakame', is extensively cultivated as a food plant. Japanese consumption of the alga is around 200,000 tonnes of fresh or dried plant per annum. Undaria is regarded as a pest because it is highly invasive, grows rapidly and has the potential to overgrow and exclude native seaweeds. It was first detected in Australia in 1988 near Triabunna on the east coast of Tasmania. Over the following ten years it spread along 100 kms of the Tasmanian east coast and also to Victoria - the most likely vector being international shipping.” - via Wikimedia Commons
