The nuance that the show is adding to Poseidon and Sally’s relationship is insane. Her creating a makeshift offering? The way you can SEE the tension in Sally release when the rain starts? Their talk about Percy? Rick you’re brilliant for this.

Tiny 12 y/o percy, standing in the lake, wounded and exhausted after a game he knew nothing about, a game he spent stumbling around till he reached the lake shore, the subtle show of his fighting getting better near the water.

Tiny 12 y/o percy confused more than ever, looking up at the glowing trident, backdropped by the vast lake and the mountain range behind him, getting claimed by one of the most powerful gods, ruler of the seas and agent of chaos, a forbidden child. Reading this moment as a child who so painfully related to him was like, Ha! See? How dare you call him a loser! He's going to be the most powerful demigod, meant for all the glory!!

But watching this as an adult is like. Have you ever bitten off more than you can chew? Have you ever been part of a legacy you never wanted? Have you ever been drop kicked into a high pressure situation that can alter your life completely, With little to no guidance? Have you ever been subject to trauma simply because of who you are?

That's no glory. That's the world expecting too much from someone who's been told too little. Someone who's been made to feel too little. That is the story of someone who hasn't prepared enough, hasn't lived enough and hasn't experienced enough, being forced to handle the weight of the world too soon.

This might be a hot take, but I actually like that Percy figured out Luke was the traitor at the last minute. There were A LOT of clues that would’ve been hard to ignore, and he ignored them for as long as he could. And it’s clear that even after accusing Luke, he’s still surprised and heartbroken at Luke’s confirmation of his suspicions. He was holding out hope, guys!!

Also, the Betrayal Scene flows better as an exchange of dialogue and a swordfight than it did, in the books, as a monologue and a scorpion sting. This also leaves a bigger impact on the viewers and characters because it’s more emotional.

PJO episode 4 spoilers

I love how the show is focusing more on the cruel manners of the gods and how they view "family" especially how that bleeds over into the demigods feeling they must earn love and care

like, annabeth has had to earn care from everyone in her life except luke (and probably Grover cause my mans wouldn't do that)

everyone in camp is so used to it that the motive for going on a quest isn't to save those you care about, to do it because you have to, or for an adventure, it's specifically to gain glory so that your parent and the kids at camp might respect you.

from what little we have seen of camp the kids there are messed up in the head about what they think of love and family, it's genuinely so sad

then in comes Percy who has a great relationship with his mom, who believes people shouldn't have to earn love and care, and he's so bewildered by everybody's attitude and everyone at camp keeps telling him that that's the way it is and he needs to get used to it and our boy is just like "not on my watch" I'll pry child support from the father's cold dead hands if I have to

i will forever stand by annabeth chase for being a little bit of a bitch to rachel. she was a teenage girl who spent her early childhood being picked second over a step mom and step siblings by her biological father, so she rarely got someone to call her own. and the two people that loved her and meant the most to her either died or betrayed her. so when she found a best friend and potential love interest in percy, I can understand getting a little territorial and jealous about it.

Actually I expected you people to be more welcoming of the non-book readers that are just watching the show. Like. We’re supposed to accept them into the fandom family. We’re supposed to welcome them and teach them the fandom jokes and lie about the spoilers so that they don’t actually get the story spoiled. We are supposed to be a good fandom guys.
