lol i literally couldnt care less about fandom drama but i will i say i saw an entitled cishet say "NO ONE BETTER START SAYING MIZU IS they/them!!" and if you cannot consider Mizu, an outwardly gendernonconforming character who shows a distaste towards 'feminine' dress/makeup/roles and penis-in-vagina sex as potentially nonbinary, trans, or otherwise ... then like who is ok for the trans fans out here to imagine as trans??? like who will you give us permission for, Your CisMajesty?
lmao kiss our collective trans azz tbh

i wish there was more queer movies that dont use the fact that they're queer as the entire plot like yes i am very happy that we get more and more queer representation and movies and all but so many of them have "omg is it ok for me to like this person???? Am i weird or broken for liking them????" as their plot.
(Get ready for a rant about that)
And yeah thats ok. It's perfectly fine to show chaeacters struggling with their identity and having trouble accepting that they might not be cis/straight. It's important to show that and im aware of that. However, it's like being straight is the default. I meannnnn. In romance movies where everyone is straight, you dont see the characters wonder if its ok to like their crush based on their gender.
Pls give me more mainstream movies/shows with queer characters but its not the main plot.
also i know that there is a lot more queer representation in medias and a lot of them dont have the queer as the plot but those shows/movies are always targeting a specific audience and they are often pieces of media that have a fandom and ppl who are very invested in it. theres nothing wrong with that but what i want is random ass movies that you see like once in your life that have queer character/romance and its not the main plot. Pls
We need that bc we need to see that being straight isnt the "normal" or default thing. And maybe i dont need to see that bc ik its not true but i feel like ppl who arent queer should also see that its a thing.
pls make movies/shows with queer characters that arent targeted at queer ppl
also i talked msotly about sexuality in the rant but it also goes for gender :)
in honor of pride month, i finished writing my rant about queer media :) enjoy
also side note but the movie "benjamin" is queer and doesnt have that as its main plot and is very good so yeah :)

kinda frutsrating that a lot of ppls way of going about feminism is to like. only use the fact "men arent allowed to express emotions" as a gotcha against MRA's and then they just like dont care after that and even perpetuate that shit. its like people realized that trans women are women, started treating them like weak meek can-never-do-wrong people like they treat cis women and then decided to treat trans guys the same way they treat cis men- but then they dont realize that neither of those perspectives on men or women are helpful and they've never been helpful. you dont just get to be like "men dont get to experience emotion" and also never hold space for men to experience that emotion, and extending your beliefs about cis men to trans men doesnt make you more progressive like you might think. yall need to realize that everyone is neutral by default, no one is by default perfect and pure and uwu and no one is by default aggressive emotionless and supposed to be disregarded. you NEED to work on the way you interact with men and the way you interpret them, its not enough to just transfer your feelings about either gender on to trans people.

im genuinely confused, why refer to a character you 'made' trans with she/her pronouns?
i say 'made' because they seem like OCs that use league lore?
im asking out of genuine curiosity, sorry if this is mean
its a fair question, no worries!
its... kinda hard to explain and i haven't prior bc while i use she/her (and they/them) for my vik, i generally dont care nor want to tell anyone what to refer to them as bc the original point of my viktor was that they do not clarify their pronouns or gender bc they dont care. i just... kindve went off on my own thing a bit lol.
so that's one reason ig?
my academy viktor is also intended to be this really tricky period where they know they arent cis but arent willing nor in a space to explore it further than through jayce. she/her has a level of safety when coming fully out is scary and, again, dont really want to think abt it too hard. on top of her only real means of exploring being trans being through jayce alone in their dorm n hes already seeing them as transmasc despite presentation and pronouns so a need to explore further isnt really a priority.
another reason that trying to deconstruct the gender behind certain things like pronouns can just feel really good. she/her can be feminine or it can be masculine or it can be neither! viktor and jayce have that understanding n i mean me as the guy behind it does too lol. (n my mh using it is just extending that safety n gendervoid further now that they have a body they feel more comfortable in and can wear that she/her w a sort of pride? something thats now hers to do with whatever and bc by then most ppl default to he/they so she/her becomes something no longer normative and able to become unattached to their afab. she can weaponize she/her now in a way they only got to test out as pre-herald?)
another, another reason is tldr i was a really awkward she/they transmasc when i first came out n it feels good to explore what that felt like through viktor, you know? (that was my original intention for her at all actually...) n get more comfortable in still being a kindve gnc they/he through a character who took their afab scenerio to the furtherest it can go and let it remain a valid agender thing. that kindve tints a lot of why i do that i guess + being in very... genderfuckery free for all spaces where this stuffs just very normal.
i usually tend to go out here to a certain extent with characters i relate to or like ie making them nonbinary, changing pronouns, and presentations (making them into ocs rip not denying the oc with league paintover allegations) this is just an extra step for me personally to have a safe, contained space to explore gender stuff myself... its a nice feeling to have created a scenerio where she/her doesnt void being transmasc/agender or can... idk enhance it even?? idk im not trying to reflect the nauces of reality rn im just trying to have fun.
this is v long winded bc im tired n felt this needed a proper explanation so. thank you if you understand this and i appreciate you asking bc id rather ppl just ask vs possibly get more confused not knowing my intentions n mindset. take care ♡

if ppl arent able to figure out how a character should be referred to, then they should ask fof clarification or default to they/them. obviously they/them shouldnt b used w ppl/characters who Clearly dont wanna b referred to it. but for ppl who dont know/are confused, its an easy solution.
example: omg this oc is so cute!!! what are their pronouns?
lmao its that easy
That’s very fair, and I wish more people were to act properly. But, I do understand why people misgender characters, particularly characters in the Homestuck style. Homestuck has very particular coding for female and male characters, to a point where many people assumed Terezi was a male character in her first appearance. Terezi, wearing a similar outfit to Karkat and not having visible eyelashes, made her appear instinctively male to some readers.
Talking about my fantrolls being misgendered:
I have a nonbinary fantroll who wears a long skirt and has long hair. They have masculine-presenting (by Homestuck standards) facial features. They are inspired by The Archivist from TMA, a character which has been interpreted as both a cis man and a nonbinary person. For some reason, despite the clear influence, this fantroll is almost exclusively read as female despite making it very clear they are nonbinary.
I have another nonbinary troll. This troll is genderfluid, and uses any pronouns. He wears shorts and no shirt, but she does wear a shrug. Very clearly they are flat chested, no surgery scars as some of my other trolls do, and a full face of makeup. Their facial features are very feminine, and he has long hair. Yet, people almost exclusively gender her as female, and ignore her fluidity. I have even received fanart of her with breasts wearing a bra. Her body, his gender, their appearance is all reflective of real individuals, yet I find people are subconsciously afraid of it or made uncomfortable by it that they try to change it.
Individuals have learned bias from our society, and it is very hard to overcome.

i feel like genderbends arent like. Inherently transphobic they can help ppl explore gender a lot thru a safe medium (a fictional character) n shit. they're transphobic when ppl start saying shit like "the opposite gender" "the opposite sex" like it's like flicking a lightswitch instead of picking another color from an infinitely wide palette. anyway technomilf hot put that pig in a miniskirt
i dont really feel like doin that much discourse on this shit bc i am tired but like. i dont have an issue with headcanons of characters being different genders or whatever, if u wanna talk about c!phil being a he/him lesbian thats very poggers and also not what this is about. its more of like. the implication that every character is cis by default? like. theres a difference between saying "i headcanon this character as x" (which, while normally not canon, doesnt rely on a character being cis by default) and "i made a genderbend of this character" (which implies theres no way the character is the gender youre saying"

what does "no pronouns" mean?
I'm sorry if this seems rude- I just don't know what it means, does it mean you're not sure? or does it mean you use different pronouns from the regular he, they, she? does it mean you use any pronouns and it doesn't matter to you?? something completely different???
ahh no pronouns just means i dont like any pronouns used on me, so instead of, say, they/them/theirs, it would be more like [name]/[name]s/[name]self
its confusing and most ppl arent used to it so I don't have a huge problem w ppl using they/them for me as long as they're being nice and respectful.
but I started not using pronouns after I realized that I didn't really feel like anything else really fit. they/them is kinda the default neutral set but they kind of feel rendering to me still ig? especially when cis ppl use them lol

Are all the core crows of Morbid Corvid trans?? 👀
nearly!! maybe? kind of???
lets start w/ the most straightforward ones lol, hunter is a cis guy, iggy is a trans guy.
roc is nonbinary in that hes like. Mostly A Guy But Not Really. he keeps his Gender Thoughts pretty private, and since he presents himself very masc most ppl use he/him pronouns on him by default. he's cool with it, but sometimes if someone asks him, he'll tell them to use they/them
scout is genderfluid! but since he wasnt assigned a gender at birth, and switching up one's gender is no big deal in his family, he doesnt really think of himself as trans. i always use he/him pronouns for him just so my posts wont get too confusing, but he switches between he/they/she every couple of days/weeks
niamh and havoc arent really the main core but theyre fun so im including them too lol:
niamh grew up, similar to scout, Not Giving A Shit abt gender but then Trauma happened and she started experimenting w/ gender expression as a coping mechanism before she settled on being fem. again, doesnt really think of herself as trans (but shes got "male" reproductive organs, and if she was a human in our world shed be a trans woman)
havoc hatched on a military base and his caretakers didn't know shit abt birds and were just like "??? idk lets just call it a he. whatever." and he was like "i am never going to question anything these ppl tell me aha 😏." but hes got "female" reproductive biology. he speedran the transition and doesnt even know abt it lmao
so like. depends? trans count is 2/6 if we are going by "was assigned X at birth but now identifies as sth else", but 4-5/6 if were going by "funky gender times" lol

its just wild idk how to say the experience of just like...it being a wholeass fixture in your life that you’re gonna off urself...i guess in earlier times (almost been aware of being suicidal for a whole decade babes) it was also that i just...like assumed that my future was gonna involve some whole disaster that was going to wreck the whole damn thing idk. like i always knew i didnt have the kinda situation where i had somebody to fall back on no matter what & i did very much know that i had the kinda situation where if it looked like the identity ppl thought i had fell through and it turned out i wasnt thriving in all of this and actually just kinda miserable and on my own, instead of having ppl who would be There For Me No Matter What i had the ppl who would want nothing to do w me except for further beat me down..........so yeah i guess ive been feeling like my future was only Doom since like 12 def...maybe earlier if you look at it idk its like wondering when i was starting being depressed fulltime. probs like age 3 idk
anyhow the point is....hard to explain what its like having the constant sense that you don’t have a future thats good & in your control & something you want, or that even exists right. like sometimes i imagine thinking abt the future in the ways that other ppl might, in the way that you assume you’ve got a good while and that there’s things you’ll get to do that you like or you’ll pursue your ambitions or whatever and its weird i think about it for like 3.3 sec and its like tf.........its like when you get some kinda Aroma Memory where your brain remembers that smell from 18.6 yrs ago & you have a 0.62second window to try to think of where its from while you have some fleeting visual/emotive memory.......sometimes i’ll just have some kinda emotional echo from a less depressed life and its like ?????? havent had this feeling in this exact way for a minute. its weird its like lol this doesnt belong to me anymore..
anyways for another solid like.....6-7 yrs its been kind of “i’ll be surprised if i make it another yr alive” with various ups & downs in that level of surprise along the way.....more like a Down lately lmao its wild how impossible it seems to make it a few more days or weeks when youre having a worse day than usual, having an on avg Worse period that lasts for months & months and etc is just....wild baby. if you havent felt it for even a day its not something you can really imagine. if u know what its like to feel like ur gonna die for a longterm period then you know what it is..
like always, maybe this is my year baby!!! in terms of death. if im thinking abt maybe this is the year i suddenly Succeed on all fronts and i never again have to think about kms, then that’ll be a struck-by-lighting, same-shuffled-card-deck-order twice in a row, sheer chance out of nowhere. your life isnt steered towards goodness because you’re good enough or Only As Much As You Can Handle or anything and ive been too deep in it this whole time to have ever been set up to not get the rug pulled out from under me several times over and yknow once you fall down even once, unless you’re really solidly backed up, the odds arent in your favor about not getting continuously run over the rest of the time. wind isn’t really at ur back there.
like im so glad abt every person ive run into who ive had in my life for more than like 5 hrs and im lucky that i was at least born recently enough to have had the internet/texting mostly regularly from 14 y.o. onward.....if i didnt im sure i wouldve been......even so much more isolated than i was. l o l . . . . ive got to feel like some ppl care abt me which is nice and didnt happen too much before then. its also good i draw lmao coz besides for the most part thats how i talk the best & how i get in touch w most of the ppl who end up sticking around enough i talk to more than like a couple of times.....but tho of course ive never like, found arbitrary success in terms of either my own solo financial boon to transcend any and all problems or ever just like bonding w a bunch of ppl like ride or die for life baby. coz like.....why would i do either. if you werent born into financial stability, let alone wealth, and if you didnt just happen to pick up these deep unshakeable relationships along the way at times when it didnt really matter.....good luck picking those things up further along the way when stuffs even shittier. i may’ve been lucky w the internet/texting timing but i wasnt lucky w the financial crisis hit or really just being born after the 80s, economy wise......or lucky w being isolated socially since age 4 and always having to feel distanced from ppl coz i could sense the difference & stigma of being someone abused & miserable before i was even really that self aware of the extent of those things about me.........oh well. coz again w the internet and me happening to draw enough prior to age 14 that i was always considered “good” at it, and then finding that i like to draw fanart for myself lol....so i could at least connect w ppl some ways right. or via text posts sometimes lmao....and im lucky that the ‘net / having a phone gave me a medium for those things & being connected to some ppl. and im lucky im gay & not cis & got to figure that out & enjoy it coz thats the best thing abt me.......
anyways even if say life was perfect for me magically i still wouldnt be able to relate to seeing yourself pursue your ambitions coz like i always say...ive never really had those lmao. wasnt able to baby.....its like there’s always that idea that ppl whose life is defined by Survival, who’ve been exposed to trauma &/or abused, that if you drop them into a safe stable situation w/friends and all and whatever then suddenly they’ll be a “regular” person, like there’s some inherent core of everyone where they Know what its like to get to live in a healthy environment w a certain perspective on other ppl & how they’ll treat you, and if you just remove someone from bs they’ll just shift over to that Default that is like oh lol yeah im like everybody else. like nah its a whole different kind of world / life you’ve not even necessarily adapted to, maybe its what you grew in. and you can adapt to a better life & grow further in that but its not a matter of like “washing away” what came before....it can be an entirely separate thing. like if you haven’t experienced it you cant imagine it. i cant give someone a real sense of what its like to grow up within & live in an abusive place for decades. and i can’t guess who i would be if i’d grown up / lived in a completely different, better situation. coz thats a whole fundamental change from the start. it’d be such a different person that it wouldn’t even make sense to call it an alternate version of “me.”
well anyways i always feel like i’m bound to kms & that bad things are impending sooner than later & when they happen i’ll get a new set of incoming bad shit to feel bearing down & etc & i dont have things i want except a cessation of living under dread & feeling like my existence is in the way & theres ppl around i gotta be on my guard for & i’m only gonna kms eventually here, theres a long lifespan & for being to off yourself at any given time, also im jealous of ppl who’ve had a nicely sized friend group where they’ve always been able to hang out w one person at least whenever they wanted to / needed to. at least i’m gay, baby. i honestly do feel like that tweet where its like i cant kill myself b/c what if im a straight guy in my next life? @ god i cant do it. like lmao for real though......in my past life maybe i was an 80s gay. syke if i have a past life it was probably a cat. maybe a cat of an 80s gay. i can only hope

1)this fandom turned to be disturbing yall only care about shinee sexual orientation and gender when its not of anyone's business. you spend all ur time on fighting over their personal matters instead of enjoying their music and what they give us. both sides acting like what they say is confirmed facts nd when one of shinee say random names or look at someone you act like they want to have sex with them nd yall act that the only attraction is sexual or romantic
2)the side that gets angry of the possibility that shinee are queer is homophobic nd not all idols has to be cis. the side that gets angry at the possibility that shinee might be like girls is weird coz we don't know these idols in real life no matter what they say or share with us
3) as an pan-aro nd part of lgbt its lowkey skeevy for me that shawols are painting shinee as lgbt icons when they only did basic decent things but in no way they r lgbt icons. yall literally could be calling a hetero guys an lgbt icons. I get wanting to connect more with them nd wanting representation but its not like this. actual lgbt people get killed nd a lots of lgbt people are fighting for our rights with little support bc we r looking in representation somewhere else we r not sure about
4) and please don't start with the closet talk bc I know how dangerous for an idol to come out but the idols u think they r queer might not be queer in the first place and if they were we have no right to want to them out too, at the end we don't know their sexualities. what am I saying is both opinions should be treated as headcanons not as confirmed facts nd this whole issue shouldn't have got that big. also neurodivergent idols headcanons should be respected too
tbh i dont even know what ur..trying 2 say by this?? i dont understand how youre like Yeah, Headcanons! but when ppl talk about headcanons ur like no...i didnt mean it like that... i mean it honestly baffles me how you reconcile these two things. if u respect ppls abilities to have headcanons youve also got to accept ppls ability to Talk about them as headcanons?? getting in discussions w ppl who say every idol Must be straight or cis isnt fighting w someone over shinees orientations Specifically, its fighting against the bigotry involved in this line of thinking. arguing w ppl who say “___ Msut be cishet” is not saying “_____ must not be cishet” its saying to question what motivates ppl to say the first thing. its not really About shinee exclusively bc its applicable to every single idol, and tbh every single person. its a discussion larger than any one particular person. i think this is an aspect that a lot of ppl miss.
also i truly dont know when ive ever acted like attraction can only be sexual or romantic bc i rly have not. talking about how queer idols Exist is not demanding idols be out. its acknowledging a reality that is hardly ever acknowledged. like. ignoring queerphobia is Not whats going to make it easier for idols to come out, discussing how queerphobia manifests in the idol industry is what will.
it really tires me when ppl pull out the U Spend All Ur Time Doing This, we’re all here for the music!! enough of that!! because while thats true, we all did become connected through shinee through music, a part of being an Active participant in fandom for many ppl is also like...talking about stuff besides their music. we’re here for their music but the Reason ppl blog about them and do shit like make gifs or edits or fics or what have u is bc they also care about the members themselves. their music is a given. i also like mamamoos music a whole ton, but i dont have a blog dedicated 2 mamamoo bc i am not As invested in the band members as i am in shinee. which isnt to say that every stan has to get involved w this specific discourse or even discourse in general, just that stans often Do get involved w non-musicy things in the process of stanning.
why is it that only queer headcanons are policed to this level...why is it only queer headcanons are met w Listen To Their Music Instead ! instead of the numerous other things ppl involved in fandom do that dont directly relate to their music. why dont u tell gif makers that theyre Too Obssesed w shinees faces and to go listen to their music instead. ppl do shit like “boyfriend imagines” for shinee which are 1000% unrelated to their music and tbh effectively function as Headcanons except youll never see ppl respond to that with Go Listen To Their Music Instead! while its not always (although it. often is lmfao) explicitly said, a lot of bf imagines are implicitly cishet and i feel like this is undoubtedly why those are accepted w/o word. bc ppl find being cishet ‘more polite’ and ‘less intrusive.’ when u make being queer a taboo to talk about (whilst simultaneously accepting anyone that talks about being cishet) u are basically saying that it is more acceptable to be cishet, while being queer is something that ought to be kept private. if ur truly adamant that this is about not spending enough time enjoying shinees music, then id like 2 see u come at every single other thing in fandom that has nothing to do w music. every time you see someone say “hey jonghyun would make a great bf” remind that person they shldnt care about something like that and shld instead be supporting shinees music. in any case, you ought to examine what makes u think that someone being queer is taboo to speak of while not rallying against statements like ‘he would be a great bf 2 his girlfriend.’
anyway i agree that ultimately what people are doing is making. headcanons. ive always agreed w this fact? this is a thing i continually say?? its why im not out there to Objectively Prove that jonghyun is gay or bi or whatever. the reason people respond to statements like ‘no jonghyun is not gay hes a straightie hetero’ with ‘no ur wrong’ bc the first statement is one that is Constantly enforced by society and it just functions as a way 2 shut down queer voices and reassert the heterosexual default present Everywhere. society treats straight as the absolute default. this is why straight “Headcanons” arent treated as well lmao... headcanons. theres rly no reason for anyone out there 2 headcanon something as straight?? when its the Assumed Sexuality in every situation?? tbh the only reason ppl are interested in doing that is Denying that idols might not be straight. doing this when ppl are Forced 2 be straight is gross. theres a difference between queer ppl saying Hey, remember not all idols are straight so lets talk about that and straight ppl being all No! ur wrong! he cant be anything but straight so shut up! these two things are coming from different perspectives.
like. imagine a pie being sliced up. historically, a 100% of this pie has been given to straight people. when queer ppl speak up, theyre trying to take some of their fair share of this pie. saying Hey, queer ppl exist!! is trying to section urself out a piece of the pie when youve been given none. someone saying Nope!! theyre all definitely straight is stealing back the measly slices someone has Actively Fought to obtain and attempting to perpetuate this imbalance.
im not rly here for ppl painting shinee as lgbt icons. ive expressed how annoying i find statements like ‘king of the gays’ or whatever to be. but also just. saying that anyone in shinee might be lgbtq is not painting them as an lgbtq icon?? its just stating a fact?? esp since a lot of the King of The Gays ! stuff seems to come from ppl who position him as a Amazing Cishet Ally so. idek buddy i feel like youve got to further think through some of your positions bc some seem to be in direct conflict with others.

as an agender person; using "you have to be sga or trans to be lgbt" i would argue very much is exorsexist... also monosexist i think? like. when the argument involves "cis ppl cant be attracted to nb genders without fetishizing them, so they arent actually bi/pan/ply/etc"... i take serious issue with it. not to mention apparently it makes agender ppl straight by default since we cant be sga? same goes for anybody without "sam/similar" gender? like seriously the fuck kind of message is this...?
Yah like I've seen many people say they don't have a gender (therefore can't be attracted to a same/similar gender) or their identity is very specific or unique to them (so nobody has their same/similar gender). And the way some people word their stuff makes it sound like if you reject the use of the term SGA you aren't allowed to be a part of a community you belong in because you reject a "needed" label.

I think that the oppression to asexual people comes from not being validated or ppl taking their asexual identity as a joke/phase. I know is not like the violence against gays, trans, etc. But if they arent a valid identity for cis/straight communities and they 'aren't oppresed enough' to be part of lgbt community where do they belong then? Tbh your comments about are sound really selfish anyways idk why you care so much abt asexuals and how they shouldn't be part of lgbt like is your bussiness
it sucks that ace people aren't validated and are taken as a joke but that's not oppression. plain and simplei'm queer and what is happening in my community is absolutely my businessit sucks that society is so defined by sexuality and i can imagine that it's hard for ace people to find a place in that, but that's not at all the same thing as what lgbt people go through. it's also not the same thing as being straight but it's not the lgbt communities job to find a place for you. it's not an either/or. we aren't a default for anyone outside the sexual norm.queer people need to be selfish and hold onto what is ours, because we have so little already. it's frustrating to see words like oppression being thrown around without any regard to what they actually mean. someone being mean to you because of who you are is not oppression without the structural power dynamic behind it and asexuals simply don't experience that. i feel like i can't say this in any simpler terms lmfao

Tfw you see someone saying they are giving permission to others to see characters as non cis but to remember that yheir headcanons arent canon because its not confirmed with the implication that all characters are cis by default. Like, thats like saying junkrat eating food is a headcanon. Like its never explicitely stated but we can assume its true. With most characters in all media there is 0 evidence of them being cis OR trans. Like trust me trans ppl KNOW most writers dont recognize they exist and probably almost no characters out there are trans. You dont have to give any reminders. So to like go out of your way to post about how THEIR interpretation of the character is just headcanon and thats probably all it will ever be is just redundant and unnecessary. And like since this is a common subject you should know you can tell ppl not to harrass others without singling out trans ppl

like on one hand straight trans people have a very different experience of sexuality than cis ppl but on the other hand theyre literally seen as the default, many people doubt gay trans people exist - ive had personal experience with that one - ive even met cis people that "support" trans people but think that trans people HAVE to be straight. yes straight trans people are part of our community but they arent being erased any more than gbp trans people are. their erasure is literally just transphobia theres no extra element to it. instead of saying "include straight trans people" just say "include trans people" because i can guarantee you the people that are """excluding""" straight trans people arent doing so in favour of any other trans person......
seeing posts that are like “dont erase straight trans people” is unreal because the sentiment is…. appreciated? yes there are straight trans people and they obviously deserve to be represented too? but also its so obvious that op’s only interaction with the lgbt community has been online specifically on this website because like. u realize straight trans people are the standard right….. u realize that being straight literally used to be a requirement to medically transition right
cis people do NOT reblog

1) im sorry i wasnt clear but what i meant is all headcanons that has to do with personal issue like sexual orientation-will they be good father- good bf or husband should all be treated as headcanons not actual facts. you talk about ur hc like a confirmed facts nd the other side who keep saying shinee are hetero nd will be good bfs also act like its facts. both of sides shouldnt act like what said is canon nd when they see the other hc disrespect nd deny it
2)i didnt say that fans who hv hc that say shinee r queer should shut up i said that fans who say that should talk about their hc freely but at the same time remember that it is not a confirmed facts the same thing goes for who say shinee are hetero and would be good bf these also should be treated as hc not as fact. i never said that queer hc are taboo i just said that i find the fights about shinee sexual orientation, gender nd religion are ridiculous. hc are hc nd all of them should respected
3)while hcs should be respected they all shouldnt be forced on others nd that what i find happening from both sides. about treating shinee as lgbt icons intentionally or not it looks like that nd you say shinee r lgbt icons is stating a fact what fact is that. theres a difference between finding something relatable nd treating that relatable thing as only be done be or stereotyped to a certain type of people. do u understand what am i trying to say here bc i cant really express myself well
i’m just going to copy and paste relevant parts from my first message bc i just feel like it bears repeating. i’ll elaborate on them a bit too.
anyway i agree that ultimately what people are doing is making. headcanons. ive always agreed w this fact? this is a thing i continually say?? its why im not out there to Objectively Prove that jonghyun is gay or bi or whatever. the reason people respond to statements like ‘no jonghyun is not gay hes a straightie hetero’ with ‘no ur wrong’ bc the first statement is one that is Constantly enforced by society and it just functions as a way 2 shut down queer voices and reassert the heterosexual default present Everywhere. society treats straight as the absolute default. this is why straight “Headcanons” arent treated as well lmao… headcanons. theres rly no reason for anyone out there 2 headcanon something as straight?? when its the Assumed Sexuality in every situation?? tbh the only reason ppl are interested in doing that is Denying that idols might not be straight. doing this when ppl are Forced 2 be straight is gross. theres a difference between queer ppl saying Hey, remember not all idols are straight so lets talk about that and straight ppl being all No! ur wrong! he cant be anything but straight so shut up! these two things are coming from different perspectives.
like. imagine a pie being sliced up. historically, a 100% of this pie has been given to straight people. when queer ppl speak up, theyre trying to take some of their fair share of this pie. saying Hey, queer ppl exist!! is trying to section urself out a piece of the pie when youve been given none. someone saying Nope!! theyre all definitely straight is stealing back the measly slices someone has Actively Fought to obtain and attempting to perpetuate this imbalance.
please note this above thing. nobody is saying that headcanons are objective fact, just that i question the motive of anybody that says something like Um sweaty no jonghyun is straight :). we dont live in societies where ppl are equally assumed to be straight/bi/gay/etc, we live in societies where ppl are Only allowed to be straight. ppl who Go out of their way to assert jonghyun is straight are contributing to a culture of heteronormativity. ppl who make queer headcanons are Not equally shoving these opinions on ppl who assume every idol is straight bc Heteronormativity Exists. society is Constantly shoving straightness down everyones throats and queer ppl speaking out against that is a Response to this. straight ppl repeating that everyone is straight reinforces societal beliefs that are widely held and imposed on everyone its just literally not the same thing. the idea of queer headcanons dont happen in some kind of cultural vacuum. theyre created as a response to constantly being silenced and forced to be straight. take the pie metaphor in account. people who are like Every idol is straight :) do it backed by centuries of enforced heterosexuality and expectations that feed into oppressive social structures that not Only assume every person is straight but force every person to be straight. these are by no means equal things nor are they motivated by similar perspectives.
this next part is also copy and pasted from the first reply bc i Rly think ur missing the point: getting in discussions w ppl who say every idol Must be straight or cis isnt fighting w someone over shinees orientations Specifically, its fighting against the bigotry involved in this line of thinking. arguing w ppl who say “___ Msut be cishet” is not saying “_____ must not be cishet” its saying to question what motivates ppl to say the first thing. its not really About shinee exclusively bc its applicable to every single idol, and tbh every single person. its a discussion larger than any one particular person. i think this is an aspect that a lot of ppl miss.
when ppl argue against statements like ‘jonghyun can only be straight sweaty :)’ they Aren’t arguing about jonghyuns orientation specifically theyre arguing against what led people to think like that. theyre arguing against the heteronormativity + unawareness of the closet that leads ppl to say the first statement. it is not about shinee Exclusively. when you dismiss these arguments are ‘just fighting about shinees sexualities :\’ ur honestly missing the point? ppl arent focusing on shinees orientations, theyre focusing on the uninformed ways of thinking that drew people to these conclusions.
also i dont know if u just misread or youre purposefully misunderstanding me but “shinee r lgbt icons is stating a fact what fact is that” I Literally Said The Opposite Of That. i said that saying that shinee might be lgbtq is stating a fact. not that they are lgbtq icons (and i roll my eyes at ppl who say things like jonghyun King of the Gays! or whatever). Just Saying that someone might be lgbtq is not saying theyre a lgbtq icon unless u think being lgbtq is inherently being a lgbtq icon?? which is silly. lgbtq ppl can Exist and not be lgbtq icons lmfao. it Is literally stating a fact that shinee might be lgbtq and thats indisputable.
