Well, you’ve got me hooked 🪝 (line, and sinker) for this fic! Everything about it seems so beautiful and harsh and raw, and I just know my heart will be ripped out when you get around to finishing it (and oh my god that snippet?? I’m obsesseddddd).

And don’t worry over taking your time to write this! Trust me, I know a thing or two abt long-term fic projects haha.

I also loooove the banner you’ve got up the top there. It’s so pretty! 😍

All in all this world building seems marvellous and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us.

The Sea and the Shore for WIPs por favor

@merlinsbbeard Thanks for asking about this one. This is currently the working title of that LIghthouse AU I try to work on every day for the summer... It's slow going, but I'm sketching pirates and shells and making banners, occasionally words end up in the doc, so progress, I suppose ;-) What is this one about? I am scared to say that it is a sad story, there might not even be a happy end (which is really difficult to think about when the sun is shining etc. Also I'm not sure if these two are not going to fight to the death for their happy end, so right now everything is possible, I guess. There might be selkies, magic in a very different way than in HP, knots of the maritime kind, a rope-maker's son, marauders, messages in bottles, missed chances, leaving and staying... oh and a lighthouse & sailing ships... reading up on love knots and knots used by witches and wizards to tame the winds and stop rain from falling, you know, as one does ;-)

The tower has no windows so she begins her descent with the sun bleeding out on the horizon and leaves the tower under the cover of night. Downstairs, she hangs her oil lamp on a hook beside the door in the small space. She picks up the wind light but before she can light it she hears footsteps outside, even with the storm raging outside, it’s clear someone’s running up the paved path to the lighthouse.

She hears the pitter-patter of small feet, like a fleeting memory but it is the sound of a drizzle starting.

The footsteps are loud and they are fast approaching. She wonders who it can be. She always wonders if it could be him. Even after she heard his ship perished, along with the whole crew, even now, years later, her heart still beats faster every time footsteps come up the hill to the lighthouse.

The door opens with a creak. The hinges jam slightly, she will have to oil them before they corrode even more. The moist sea wind settles on everything. It is patient, with time everything rusts through, everything is worn down, every wall crumbles.

The handle almost slips out of her fingers, the lamp jiggles and the match drops to the floor. In the door opening stands a man, he’s staring at her, as if she’s the apparition, instead of him.
