You are correct! In canon, Orion is actually a brother in law to Alphard and Cygnus, instead of a full blooded brother. Basically, I switched Orion with Walburga, so I could have three brothers in one family. In TBG, Walburga is a cousin in the Black family. Other than that, the family tree is mostly the same with a few adjustments. Cygnus marries Drewella Rosier and has Andromeda, Bellatrix, and Narcissa. Orion marries Walburga and has Sirius and Regulas. Both these families are canon. Also, in canon, there is no Quintus Prince and we also know that Alphard Black (Sirius mentions he loved him) doesn't seem to marry.

I still find it funny how Alphard and Quintus decided they were together. I didn't go into the story with that thought at all. It fit perfectly, though. I checked the wiki on Eileen Prince for her history, but there was little much about her. I felt she was probably a rebellious little girl, so that's why I put her in Ravenclaw. I'll just say this: Severus really does have some nice gay uncles. 😉

I did add more children randomly to all the families. People just have more siblings and cousins in TBG, because I thought it weird that so many wizarding families had only 1 kid or so in canon. Except those fertile Weasleys lmao. I dont have a major family tree though. I research the Canon wiki extensively before making decisions. For the most part, I try to keep the families canon, unless adding siblings to make the size bigger. Some of the ages of the Potter family was weird too. That's why I made Fleamont and Charlus brothers. Just seemed to fit. Most, if not all, of ages of all the kids are adjusted to fit things. But I'm not always great at keeping things straight (lol...) when it comes to ages, dates, and families. I even messed up Tom Riddle’s birthday year. 😅😂😩🥲

I hope that answers your question. I am very aware what's canon and what isn't since I always double check the wiki constantly. I always like to do that because I can slip canon casually into the story, until it no longer serves its purpose. A lot of the professors are taken from canon. But sometimes they're from the wrong century hahaha. I do things like that. 🥰
